I thought that Kagekatsu(Kenshin's nephew and adopted son) being the older brother in the diary entries was a typo.
Tumblr media
But it seems like they really made Kagekatsu Kenshin's brother. (Wouldn't Kagekatsu be quite old then, since Kenshin is supposed to be one of the older LIs???)
Tumblr media
And there's Kagetora(Kenshin's adopted son and son of Hojo Ujiyasu) too. I suppose that he's not in Kenshin's route just for the sake of avoiding succession drama between the brothers.
Kiku isn't in Shingen's route for some reason. It would have been nicer if she was there. :')

An Interesting Marriage
Few rivalries are as famous as that of Uesugi Kenshin and Takeda Shingen. The war between the Uesugi and Takeda clans has been dramatized across every kind of media you can imagine throughout the centuries.    But, here is a fun fact you probably didn’t know. After the deaths of these two titans of the warring states period a marriage was carried out between their clans! The year after Kenshin’s death, which is six years after Shingen’s death, his successor Uesugi Kagekatsu was married to Shingen’s daughter Kiku-hime!   The marriage was agreed too and arranged by Shingen’s successor, his son Takeda Katsuyori.

It looks like we have a new Osafune blade.
Tumblr media
Goke Kanemitsu (1), the widow's blade. He is best known as Naoe Kanetsugu's beloved blade, and he gets his name from when Kanetsugu's wife, Naoe Osen, presented him to the Uesugi Family. He currently resides in the Seikado Bunko Art Museum (2).
Kanetsugu is well known for serving Uesugi Kenshin and his adopted son, Uesugi Kagekatsu. It's said, from the book "The Life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi" (3), that Toyotomi Hideyoshi visited Uesugi Kagekatsu. Kagekatsu called a council between his trusted advisors, and it was Kanetsugu who advised in meeting with Toyotomi (while everyone else advised for assassination). Thanks to Kanetsugu's advice, Kagekatsu avoided war with the Toyotomi and agreed to follow the Toyotomi clan in their effort to unify Japan.
Well, that book is old, so take it with a grain of salt. However, Kanetsugu was well respected by the Uesugi and his advice was considered heavily. He started serving the clan at age 22, and he was a formidable commander in the Battle of Tedorigawa (4), between the Uesugi and Nobunaga forces. Kanetsugu also fought battles against Sassa Narimasa and Maeda Toshiie in the Sea of Japan after Tedorigawa. He followed the Uesugi all the way to the end, even being part of the leadup to the Battle of Sekigahara.
I wish I could provide more information, in English, on Naoe Kanetsugu, but unfortunately there isn't a lot. Here's a few sites, in Japanese, that Wikipedia is citing: 1st (Archived), 2nd, 3rd (Archived).
As for what I linked, there's the twitter announcement above the picture, the Tsuruginoya page (1) on Goke, the Seikado Bunko Art Museum's website (2), the book "The Life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi", published 1888, on the Internet Archive (3) (start page 629 of the scan to read about that specific moment), and an archived English webpage on Uesugi Kenshin (4).

FunFact: Nagao Kagetora may've also been a woman! some records claim that they were the aunt of Uesugi Kagekatsu. also some sources say he died of colon cancer, other sources say she died of ovarian cancer, and a few sources say they died from being stabbed in the bum from a toilet ninja (no, i'm not joking)
I LOVE the comedy of Kagetora's death
The way they keep making those jokes in GUDAGUDA
God bless
But i did not know that first part! Thats super interesting as well
Its truly funny when fgo does some "genderbend" (idk how else to call them, im sorry if theres a better term :( ) and it turns out there are theories that make you go "omg fgo might have been onto something"

This is also a famous legend, one associated with Kageie’s death.
The legend is presented as-is in the route, minus, of course, Kageie being killed.
Kageie had sold some horses and they were bought up by Nobunaga at a high price. Nobunaga said that Echigo horses were fine quality, and sent Kageie a thank you letter. Since he did not report this, or at least does not immediately report it, Kenshin got enraged when he caught wind of it and executed Kageie.
I cannot find a citation of what is the source of the legend.
There is an alternative version circulating online that said that this is all planned, and Nobunaga purposely sent that letter to implicate Kageie. The game is running with this version of the legend. If I recall correctly, this version used to be on Wikipedia (Voltage writers’ favourite source of info!), but it has since been changed.
There is also another similar legend written in Kagekatsu-kou Ichidai Ryaku-ki 景勝公一代略記. It claimed that Kageie had marched out for battle with Kenshin, but somehow rumours started circulating that he was in league with the Oda. Kenshin then executed him for treason. This version is also considered rather dubious because the text claims this took place in 1575. The Uesugi is still on good terms with the Oda at this point, and thus this narrative does not make sense.
Some speculated that this is a case of mixed-up identity, and the one executed for colluding with the Oda was actually Kageie’s son, while Kageie himself just died of natural causes.

Warriors Orochi: The Recollective Redux Part 3.2: Wei Side Stages
Again, some conditions have been made easier. Obtaining most characters in this hypothetical project game should be 100% guaranteed.
Chapter 2-X: Invasion of Nanzhong 南中侵攻戦 (uses DW5 map)
Orochi Army and Zhang He Troop vs. Resistance Army Allied characters: Cao Pi, Yoshitsugu Ōtani Third-party characters: Zhang He Enemy characters: Zhao Yun, Yukimura Sanada, Nobuyuki Sanada, Zhang Bao, Ginchiyo Tachibana, Meng Huo, Zhurong
Unlockable character: Zhang He
Clear Chapter 1 to unlock this stage.
Many officers of Wei were not happy to be used as Orochi’s puppets under the name of an alliance. Zhang He began to feel discontented with the situation. He accompanied Cao Pi to Nanzhong to supress the Resistance. The battle progressed smoothly until Zhang He stopped fighting, forcing Cao Pi to convince him to fight.
Xu Shu is replaced by another generic officer for this battle. Nobuyuki Sanada and Ginchiyo Tachibana also appear in this battle.
To unlock Zhang He, defeat the two enemy officers attacking him and have Cao Pi speak with him, whether as a player or an ally. Once he is convinced, Zhang He needs to stay alive to the end of the battle, which is when all enemies are defeated.
Chapter 3-X: Conquest of Ji Province 冀州討伐戦 (uses DW5 Yellow Turban map)
Orochi Army and Goemon Ishikawa vs. Resistance Army Allied characters: Dong Zhuo, Zhang Liao, Li Dian Third-party characters: Goemon Ishikawa Enemy characters: Nene, Kiyomasa Katō, Masanori Fukushima, Kotarō Fūma, Hanzō Hattori, Kunoichi
Unlockable character: Nene
Clear Chapter 2 to unlock this stage.
Nene’s ninja troop managed to maintain its independence from Orochi. Dong Zhuo was sent to elimate them.
Li Dian replaces Yue Jin in this battle.
When Kiyomasa Katō and Masanori Fukushima are defeated, they will retreat.
To unlock Nene, defeat the second clone within 5 minutes (originally 4) of defeating the first one.
Chapter 4-X: Battle of Saika 雑賀の戦い
Orochi Army vs. Resistance Army Allied characters: Zhang Liao, Xu Huang, Xu Zhu, Yue Jin Enemy characters: Kenshin Uesugi, Shingen Takeda, Kanetsugu Naoe, Kagekatsu Uesugi Yoshimoto Imagawa
Unlockable character: Yoshimoto Imagawa
Clear Chapter 4 to unlock this stage.
Upon hearing that Resistance units under Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi were using a base in the Saika Territory, Cao Pi ordered Zhang Liao to investigate. When this was confirmed, immediate suppression was necessary.
Yue Jin replaces Man Chong in this battle. Kagekatsu Uesugi will appear in place of Kageie Kakizaki when the Takeda and Uesugi forces arrive.
To unlock Yoshimoto, prevent the enemy engineers from infiltrating the central garrison and launching a fire attack. There will be a total of 8 coming in two waves, at first one at a time then two at a time. They will all appear in an anti-clockwise direction on the map.
Chapter 5-X: Battle of the Five Gates 五関突破戦
Coalition Army and Diaochan Troop vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Mitsunari Ishida, Zhang Liao Third-party characters: Diaochan Enemy characters: Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu, Chen Gong, Lu Lingqi
Unlockable character: Diaochan
Clear Chapter 5 to unlock this stage.
Diaochan joined the Orochi Army with Lu Bu when he was defeated in the initial battle at Xiapi. However, she was unhappy and disillusioned with the path that Lu Bu was taking and chose to defect, hoping to make Lu Bu see his own folly. However, an incensed Dong Zhuo immediately began pursuit before they spot Mitsunari Ishida, who had decided to help Diaochan.
Lu Lingqi will be past the first gate while Chen Gong will advance with Dong Zhuo.
To unlock Diaochan, make sure she stays alive during the battle and clear the battle within 10 minutes (originally 6:40 min).
Chapter 6-X: Battle of Liang Province 涼州の戦い
Coalition Army and Zhenji Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Cao Pi, Xiahou Yuan, Xiahou Ba, Guo Huai Third-party characters: Zhenji Enemy characters: Dong Zhuo, Kotarō Fūma, Cao Pi (fake)
Unlockable character: Zhenji
Clear Chapter 6 to unlock this stage.
When Cao Pi declared Wei’s independence from Orochi, Zhenji followed suit and led an army to Liang Province. Orochi dispatched Dong Zhuo to eradicate this resistance and so, the three clash at Liang Province…
Xiahou Ba and Guo Huai respectively replace Cao Xiu and Hideie Ukita in this battle.
To unlock Zhenji, defeat all sorcerers and the imposter Cao Pi within 10 minutes of the start of battle. Make sure you get all these goals before defeating Dong Zhuo. Help Zhenji clear the enemies around her if you can.
Chapter 7-X: Struggle for Nanzhong 南中争覇戦 (uses DW5 map)
Coalition Army and Honda Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Nagamasa Azai, Gan Ning, Oichi Third-party characters: Tadakatsu Honda Enemy characters: Masamune Date, Kojūrō Katakura, Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo
Unlockable character: Tadakatsu Honda (2/4)
Clear Chapter 6-X to unlock this stage.
Cao Pi ordered Nagamasa Azai to lay siege to the key Orochi outpost of Nanzhong in the south, but he saw a mysterious army in battle with Orochi…
When Tadakatsu roars on the battlefield, Chen Lan and Lei Bo (newly added) are the officers who defect.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Tadakatsu Honda. To impress him, rescue his two sons, Tadamasa and Tadatomo, and defeat Lu Bu by yourself (no kill-stealing!).
Chapter 8-X: Battle of New Hefei Castle 合肥新城の戦い
Coalition Army and Sun Ce Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Cao Cao, Yue Jin, Yoshitsugu Ōtani Third-party characters: Sun Ce Enemy characters: Orochi, Da Ji, Lu Bu, Keiji Maeda, Kojirō Sasaki, Hisahide Matsunaga
Unlockable character: Lu Bu (2/4)
In Chapter 7, defeat Da Ji within 3 minutes of her defection (originally 1) to unlock this stage.
With the news that Cao Cao was still alive, Orochi became enraged and challenged Wei to a battle to end all battles.
Kojirō Sasaki and a generic officer will appear in the northwest as reinforcements. Hisahide Matsunaga and two more generic officers will arrive in the northeast just as Sun Ce arrives, which is either when Cao Cao’s plan is successful (they would originally not appear in this case) or when 10 minutes have passed and the plan isn’t successful yet or has failed. Hisahide’s unit is a fire attack unit, so if they are not defeated in a few minutes, all the ships in the east will go up in flames.
Orochi will appear in this battle if Chapter 8 has been cleared.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Lu Bu. To impress him, just defeat him without running away from him.

Oops I should answer some asks. lmao. every time I’m at a keyboard I forget.
This actually came up in stream right around the time this was sent so it’s wild the psychic vibes of ‘maybe was actually a woman’ Kagetora had permeated the air so thoroughly it manifested twice out of the blue on different platforms. Anyway yes I was aware but thank you for spreading the good word.
Also, you have to be very careful of butt-stabbing ninjas. Everyone’s on the look out for backstabbing, but there’s other equally vulnerable points on the body.

Aya Gozen, half-sister of Uesugi Kenshin by Touken World
After the death of her husband, Nagao Masakage, Aya went by the name of Sentoin. Nagao Kagetora (later known as Uesugi Kenshin) is her half-brother. She had two sons and two daughters by Nagao Masakage: her children, including, Kagekatsu, was adopted into the Uesugi Clan.
She was a highly intelligent woman and skilled in recognising talent, being responsible for employing various samurai to work for Kenshin. She recommended Naoe Kanetsugu to serve her son, Kagekatsu. It was rumored that Kanetsugu tried his best to care for her in gratitude.

Sakura has prepared an appropriate evening for her and Kenshin, sake and a meal prepared by her for the two of them. Upon him joining her, she smiles softly. "Happy Valentines Day, Kenshin. Care for a drink?
Kenshin did not require anything of Sakura but her companionship to be content, though the carefully prepared meal and the sake they both liked to drink was certainly appreciated.
He had, to always remind him of her, planted more cherry blossom trees around the castle. But that was not his gift to her. Rather, he had found a hairpin from his mother. A beautiful yet simple one that he felt would suit Sakura, complimentary to her. Lovely for formal occasions or to add a touch of elegance to more casual wear. But more than useful, sentimental. Kagekatsu, too, approved of giving it to Sakura. He would have done so sooner had he known where it was.
So, as he smiled and poured a drink for them both, he thanked her for everything she had done. Not just the meal and the drinks, but everything, everything since they had first met. And then he slid the box over to her.
Kenshin could not wait for the day her name would be inked into the records of the Uesugi Clan, marking down for the people of Echigo to know generations into the future that Uesugi Kenshin was lucky enough to become her husband.
