'The Idol' Is A Masterpiece On How To Make A Horrible Show

Sam Levinson's new show The Idol is produced by one of it's main characters The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye.

It stars Tesfaye, Lily Rose Depp, and Rachel Sennott.

The story is about a troubled pop star who gets wrapped up in an affair with Tesfaye's character. The first episode focuses on how exploited Depp's character is as she tries to show she is giving consent to many tough situations.

There are many issues with the plot and story. It seems like it truly is a r*pe fantasy produced by two of the sleaziest men in the entertainment industry.

They tried to wrap this up like it is empowering to women to consent to these types of situations and "beg to be r*ped" but it's again written by two sleazy men who have exploited women in these situations multiple times. It comes off extremely disingenuous and like they haven't read the room.

Aside from the horrendous plot, the acting and performances are atrocious and do not keep the attention of the viewer.

The cinematography was extremely poorly done. Some of the color correction seemed off. There were a bunch of shaky zoom ins that seemed like they were done by someone inexperienced behind the camera.

It seems like they saw a video explaining Nicolas Winding Refn's visual and filmmaking style and tried to recreate it but lack the talent and charisma and writing abilities as someone like Refn has. It seems like a poor, cheap immitation of movies that have already been done way better before with two sleazy men at the helm who just want to explore their weird fantasies of exploiting women and getting away with it.

It just truly disgusts us and one of our favorite directors is Gaspar Noé, so that's saying something.

Skip this if you want to keep your integrity and time.

Do I just spend 2 hours watching a psychoanalysis of Total Drama Island? Yes! Am I about to make it EVERYONES problem? Also yes! I’ve needed an excuse to talk about this show for a while now. This video was just as entertaining to watch as the SpongeBob Skin Theory video. Which I might talk about as well.

I’ve been debating for a while now starting a video podcast where I just talk about some of my favourite media. Wether that be just a basic review and my personal opinions on the piece. Or it could be a head cannon/Fan theory video where I talk about crazy plot devices! Would you guys be interested? You seem to enjoy my written reviews of things.

Joseph Ortlip from Naked And Afraid

Let’s ask ourselves the real question. What has Joseph ever brought to the table in a challenge in Naked And Afraid. Can you honestly think of one food item he brought back for himself or his teammates? 1: A need for sympathy

2: No food

3: A lot of crying and over acting

4: Pretty much nothing

He managed to complete his first challenge and the network made his partner look horrible. Granted she wasn’t the nicest, but after watching his handy work on any challenge he’s been on, can you blame her? It makes you wonder if she was really as bad as the show portrayed.

Discovery once again had him do another challenge called Frozen XL where he was medically tapped once again for dehydration and what they said was heart issues. However, while on the challenge he provided nothing for himself or his female teammates who thrived while he was with them and excelled even more when he was removed from the challenge. He spent most of the Frozen challenge complaining about being cold while wandering around aimlessly for short periods of time before heading back and trying to cuddle up to the women for heat. You can clearly see the dynamic changed from when he was in the show and when he left. Everything seemed to improve once he was removed from the challenge. Joseph offered absolutely nothing to this challenge and was in all sense of the word, useless. Which in itself is ironic as he states that cold weather survival is his specialty. We are thinking he couldn’t open a refrigerator without complaining about the chill.

If you pay close attention to the show as well as fan pages, you will see that there is a certain awkwardness with Joseph Ortlip. The women on the show appear to find a discomfort in his company. It can’t be said and no cast member would. However it is clear to see that something isn’t right.

Mr. Ortlip likes to boast that he has completed two challenges and that his medical tap counts as a win. However most fans don’t see it that way. In fact we feel he would not have lasted 5 days in his first challenge is it wasn’t for his partner Sam. If it wasn’t for his teammates carrying him through challenges he may barely make it through insertion of any challenge.

Joseph likes to say he can teach bushcraft, hunting and various outdoor skills. However you would probably stand a better chance learning from a teenager showing survival techniques on YouTube. Not since the likes of Seth, has #DiscoveryChannel and #NakedAndAfraid put a more incompetent cast member on the show. His acting is worse than a daytime soap opera, and it is painful to watch him. We hope that Naked And Afraid sees that he offers no content to the show and never allow him to disgrace the network or show ever again. Fans can only handle so much boredom. His somber woah is me attitude is repulsive and gets old fast. No grown man should act like he’s an insecure and unsure teen. Especially somebody claiming to be a proficient hunter and provider.
