Reepicheep could just walk into Mordor. Easy-peasy.
He could definitely get there, but he wouldn't be my first pick as Ringbearer. I definitely don't think he'd have it any easier than Frodo and Sam. If I had to send Narnians to do the Fellowship's jobs, here's who I'd send:
Reepicheep could kill the Witch King of Angmar
Puddleglum and Hwin could take the Ring to Mordor
Caspian could take the Paths of the Dead, with assorted Old Narnians (Trumpkin, Trufflehunter, etc.) as backup. Drinian is along to sail the ships.
Puzzle could unwittingly contact Sauron via Palantir
Tumnus is my pick for improvising Boromir's funeral lament. We know he's musical and HHB shows that he thinks fast on his feet
On the flip side:
Faramir could stamp out the Green Lady's fire
Bilbo could joyously take the coracle over the edge of the world (unless it's the First Age, in which case it's definitely Eärendil)
Sam would do the Jill thing and rescue Puzzle from the stable, then immediately speed bond and refuse to let anyone hurt him
Any number of Middle Earth warriors could do single combat with Miraz, but I think Aragorn would come up with the plan on the spot the way Peter does. Very similar vibe to the attack on the Black Gate
Also:
Father Christmas could hand out gifts and cryptic advice in Lothlorien; Galadriel could arm the Pevensies and patch up the Beavers' dam
Lucy stands the best chance of anyone at finding the Entwives
Pippin and Cor would have a lot to discuss re: first experience in battle. Pippin and Corin would have a lot to discuss re: everything else
Ramandu and Coraikin have a biweekly book club with Tom Bombadil and Goldberry. Gandalf is also invited, but only pops by once in a great while

*deep breath in*
the fears 👏 have always 👏 been (in one way or another) 👏 parallel 👏 to 👏 desire 👏
let me explain.
so many of the statements given by actual avatars center around some sort of need that was met by their entity. Lots of them even had a positive relationship with the fear that drove them.
Jane Prentiss is an excellent example - the Corruption has always been about a form of toxic and possessive love, but she personally has a deep desire to be “fully consumed by what loves her,” and finds a perverse joy and relief at allowing herself to be a home
Jude Perry is another - she fucking loved watching people’s lives be utterly destroyed. The Desolation only offered her a power of destruction on a grander scale, and then gave her a more intense rush of joy as she did its work. When she tells Jon that he needs to feed the Eye before it feeds on him, it’s almost as an afterthought; she was happily feeding the Desolation long before it burned her into a new existence.
Simon Fairchild. Every time that old loose bag of bones wanders into the picture, he is having a fucking EXCELLENT time playing with the Vast. He loves showing people their own insignificance, and he loves luring them into situations where he can throw them into the void as he smiles and waves.
Peter Lukas (hell, the whole Lukas family (except Evan. RIP Evan.)) hated. people. all he wanted was for them all to go away, to leave him alone. The Lonely only fulfilled that desire.
Daisy, Trevor, and Julia, all devoted to hunting those things they deemed monstrous.
Melanie, holding tight to that bullet in her leg because on some level, she wanted it. It felt good, it felt right, it felt like it fit right alongside the anger and spite that drove her to success.
Annabelle Cane first encountered the Web when she was a child, running away from home in order to tug on her parents’ heartstrings in just the right way to have them wrapped around her little finger. Later on she volunteered to be the subject of an ESP study. Hell, she’s the one who dangled the “Is it really You that wants this?” question over Jon’s head in S4.
And that brings us to Jon, beloved Jarchivist, the Voice that Opened the Door. Ever since he was a child targeted by the Web, he was looking for answers. He joined the Magnus Institute’s Research Department looking for them, he stalked his coworkers in search for them, he broke into Gertrude’s flat and laptop out of desperation for them. And when he realized that all he had to do was Ask to get truthful answers to his questions? It was only natural for him to jump at that opportunity.
Elias told S3 Jon that he did want this, that he chose it, that at every crossroads he kept pushing onwards, and the inner turmoil that caused was one of the focal points for Jon’s character through the rest of the podcast.
There’s a certain line of thinking in many circles about the power of the Devil: he’s not able to create anything new. All he’s able to do is twist and warp that which was already present, making it something ugly and profane while still maintaining the facade of something desirable.
Jon didn’t choose the Eye. But he did wander into its realm of power, exhibiting exactly the qualities it was most capable of hijacking and warping to its own ends. Jon didn’t choose the Apocalypse. But Jonah picked at him little by little, pointing him towards each Fear individually. Jon didn’t want to release the Fears. But the Web tugged on his strings just so and laid a pretty trail for him to follow until he reached its desired conclusion.
Jon didn’t choose ultimate power, or omniscience, or even his own role as Head Archivist. But he said “yes” to the right (wrong?) orders and kept on pushing for the right (wrong?) answers. He wanted to succeed at the work he had been assigned. He wanted to protect his friends. He wanted to rescue them when they were lost. He wanted to prevent the apocalypse, to save the world. He wanted to know why he was still alive, when so many had died right in front of him.
The Great Wheel of Evil Color that is the Entities might not fit as neatly into categories in this universe - maybe there was no Robert Smirke trying to impose strict categories on emotional experiences, or maybe the ways they manifest in the world has turned on its head (goodness knows many of them have been showcased and blended in some very fun and new and horrifying ways so far) - but their fundamental foundations seem to be the same. Hell, in episode one we learned that there had been enough individual incidents to create a distinction between “dolls, watching” and “dolls, human skin.”
Smirke’s Fourteen isn’t going to be relevant as common parlance, RQ said that already, but I don’t think that means the Fears themselves (and their Dream Logic-based rules) are different - I think it means that the levels of understanding, language used, and personal connections among people “in the know” are going to be entirely unfamiliar

Hey Meep, Meepster, Meeperoni how do you draw scales?
I love your scales, both the prominent and far away ones. I especially love the scales on your cryptid boys.
So how do you do it?! When I try to draw scales it looks like a gravel road and just overall bad. Please share your wisdom, I beg.
In my head this turned into a bigger question than you might have intended pfjfjf, I tried my best to stay relativity simple with my answer!
Let me show you how you can think when figuring out big scales.
First I try to keep it simple and not sketch in all the scales until I've gotten the pose down.
Tumblr media
When I start planning out scales I start with figuring out the direction of the scales and the big shapes (I usually do this in my head, but drawing it can be very useful)
Tumblr media
Once I'm happy with the shapes and directions I start adding the scales one at a time, all overlapping each other like they're huge fish scales.
Tumblr media
Scales don't always have to follow the same 'start at the head and run down the body' idea, you can do the opposite and get some very neat looking shapes. You can mix it up too. Here's some examples!
Tumblr media
There are a lot of different kinds of scales and animals often have more than one kind. Some even do look like gravel!
Tumblr media
I suggest looking at real life animals and fictional creatures for inspiration and reference. It takes a long while to learn how and where to use specific scales, but it'll be easier if you're willing to spend some time looking at and studying scales and the anatomy around them.
Some examples of animals with scales~ (names in alt text)

I'm not well versed into DND lore, so I gotta ask , are drow men canonically submissive and breedable? Is nere just being a brat?
OK OK OKOK OK ok okOK OK ONE YAPPUCCINO COMING UP ☝☝☝☝ (clearly I have been foaming at the mouth to finally get a chance to answer this from the minute you sent it) !!!!
It's like sorta tricky to answer but not really at the same time. So in Drow culture (more specifically: Lolthian cities), men are second-class citizens, and the entire society is matriarchal. Women in all ways are dominant and domineering. They don't really marry, they rarely have relationships (romantic relationships), but they are taught that sex is for your own pleasure and for procreation when the time is right.
Men offer themselves to women, and if she is interested she will take them either for her pleasure or to reproduce (or both) - but she's often not concerned with his pleasure.
WITH THAT BEING SAID: Drow men are, indeed, submissive and breedable, but only because they are raised and expected to be that way. Whether or not that's actually what they prefer/enjoy is another discussion. Keep in mind, they're also likely raised to know that sex is not for their pleasure - so if that's what you're indoctrinated to believe, how many sexual preferences would you really have? It definitely comes down to each individual.
(foaming at the mouth now bc I get to talk about Nere) OKAY NERE Ugh god, my submissive, breedable little brat, Nere. Because men are raised to serve women in Lolthian culture (and he is a Lolth-sworn Drow), leaving Lolth and no longer serving her meant that he did not have to be a part of a matriarchal society anymore and he gained a lot of freedom.
Becoming a leader of any kind as a man who used to be sworn to Lolth is a big deal, so I imagine that becoming a leader within the cult of the Absolute started his power trip. "I'm no longer at the mercy of others, no longer at the mercy of women. Now I lead, and others are at my mercy," is probably the general thought in his head. He definitely has a big head about it by the time you meet him.
extra NSFW thoughts under the break:
Despite how tough and dominating he thinks he is, I know for a fact that the second you let him fuck he would have no idea what to do - and he'd be very clumsy and it'd piss him off. He probably wouldn't even last that long.
If Tav is a woman, especially a Drow woman (Seldarine or Lolth-sworn, doesn't matter), it'd be very easy to make him fold. He'd hate to admit it but even if he's the one that's railing into you, he'd still find it invigorating if you retained your dominance over him; that is, make it clear that he's only fucking you like that because you're allowing him to. Allowing him to fuck you is a privilege that you could take away at any moment; he'd actually hate how intoxicating it was to him, he'd hate how much he loved to be dominated.

Hi, I kind of have a question, Adam said that can't walk in the sun when doesn't drink blood, but what exactly happens? Do vampires just burn immediately, begin to be more sensitive to sunburn or is it another kind of thing?
so, in time and time again I really wanted blood to be something of a medicinal need for vampires. it's not a 1:1 metaphor of course, please don't try to think of it that way, but it's how I conceptualize it.
He needs blood to go in the sun, to heal, to "be something of a human again" and it also grants him the ability to time travel, shapeshift, compel others...
Without blood, he can't do these things. So, to be honest, without blood vampires would just... die. They can't exist without it. being in the sun uses blood, its dangerous. it wears you down. it makes you weaker. it can kill you!
I realize this ends up making my vampires feel weak, but... it's a metaphor for chronic illness. They have limited energy and if they do not take the time and the 'medications' they need to recover, they'll become weak or die. They have to manage their limited energy.
there's extreme privilege for vampires who have steady access to blood, like Adam does. His access to blood lets him time travel, transform, go in the sun constantly, etc. Vampires without as much access have to become nocturnal, they get stuck in one place, they have to be careful because even a small cut can cost precious resources...
A desperate vampire might end up hurting someone for what they need. a vampire with people who are willing to help them can get by, or even thrive. a vampire with none of these will die.
I know it's not the most satisfying answer, but it is my answer! My experiences being chronically ill are very much at play here.

it was always a strange dichotomy. every middle school classmate i had told me i'd be a millionaire when i grew up, a Famouse Artisté. it's easy enough to imagine as a teen, i suppose: skill equals fame equals money. i was doubtful about this prophecy, not because i wasn't confident in my ability to draw, but because it was hard to imagine a world where i'd be paid for it.
it was an ice breaker game at summer camp. horrible one, really - everyone in a group were given a character profile. now we had to imagine that it was the zombie apocalypse, and the helicopter to safety was two seats short and we had argue why we deserved a spot. the character i got was an asshole doctor of some kind. i don't remember if i argued my way into the helicopter or not, but i do remember the feeling that's been hanging over me my entire life - if the apocalypse happens right now, i have nothing to contribute.
there's something really painful about it. i have cultivated a skill for my whole life, i can make art and tell stories that are entirely unique to me, there is no way to get someone else to create in the exact same way i can, and yet - i've contributed more to capitalist society by sitting in an empty hotel reception for eight hours a day.
which made me develop anxiety, to boot.
i illustrated two children's books. they're some of my best work. the contract i signed was industry standard and the indie author who had hired me was incredibly kind... but even after stock sold out i had earnt little more than some pocket change.
in high school we had an outing to dig our own snow caves that we would spend the night in. in teams, thankfully. i have so little physical strength to speak of, most i could do to help was clear away the snow rubble and toss it outside. i know, i know, my classmates reassured me it was an important job to do, i was an invaluable member of the group, sure - but it's that feeling, you know?
what would my task be in the communist solarpunk commune?
a person cannot be useless. it's a human being. they just exist, no ifs and buts about it. one can only be useless in the eyes of an ableist, capitalist society that sees no value in being alive beyond production and profit.
sometimes i receive messages from internet strangers to tell me something i said - often several years ago - was helpful to them. maybe it was a throwaway comment on a forum. maybe it was replying to a question they could've googled the answer to. maybe it was an encouraging reply to someone's artwork. turns out it mattered to someone. huh.
of course you can learn new skills. i have learnt plenty over the years! i have also learnt that there are limitations to what i can do. that some of the obstacles i face are not in fact obstacles everyone faces. it's not that i can't break tasks into smaller steps, it's more that half of those steps are going to be "rinse your hands because you Touched a Thing and now you're going to have to touch Another Thing." i wonder if that's adding to my cognitive load or something.
i was never raised to be a man, so by all accounts i do not understand why i'm so haunted by the spectre of toxic masculinity - what would i do if i was a medieval peasant and a war broke out? what if i was in a pre-historic hunter gatherer society and i was expected to hunt? what if i was a humble farm boy discovering the sword of the chosen one and the world depended on my non-existing courage to face certain death?
look, it's stupid. these are not scenarios i will find myself in. besides, pre-historic humans depended on community and taking care of each other. that's how we survive.
i'm not useless and i decided to make peace with being useless anyway.
we're surrounded by digital clocks. we can't really escape them. do we need watchmakers? would they save me a spot in the zombie apocalypse helicopter? no, don't answer that. i'm just happy i found something that requires a light touch and an observant eye.

Headcanon: Vertin goes to Madam Z and Tooth Fairy for advice.
Vertin notices Sotheby's gotten a bit taller.
She's growing up.
Eventually, she and any other younger arcanists she recruits are going to start asking questions.
The Foundation doesn't have growth and development as part of the curriculum since it's deemed unnecessary. The only reason she was taught is because Madam Z and Tooth Fairy took it upon herself to educate her after she started asking those very same questions. Madam Z usually lent her a book on the topic and Tooth Fairy clarified anything she was confused about.
Vertin decides to go to them for advice and prepare herself for the inevitable.
Luckily, Tooth Fairy also happened to be in Madam Z's office making the whole embarrassing process one step shorter.
At first Madam Z is alarmed by Vertin's grave expression. However, when the Timekeeper reveals the reason behind her visit she cracks a smile.
Madam Z tried to match Vertin's seriousness but seeing Vertin diligently jotting down notes as they spoke was a sight to see. If only she was that studious in class.
Tooth Fairy doesn't bother hiding her amusement but she offers to answer the children's questions for Vertin if she'd like.
Vertin appreciates the offer but states it might be embarrassing for her arcanists to bring up to a stranger. She wants to at least try answering them first. She wants to make them as comfortable as possible, the same way Madam Z and Tooth Fairy did for her.
Tooth Fairy and Madam Z are taken off guard by the sudden praise. Madam Z recovers and reminds Vertin they're still here for her. She can ask them anything.
The flood gates open.
"What should I do if someone breaks their heart? Should I set a curfew? I want them to have freedom but I don't want them to get hurt—"
Tooth Fairy and Madam Z share a glance.
Madam Z simply states, "Communication is key."
Vertin seems satisfied with this answer.
Madam had Z kept the books all these years just in case Vertin or some other child had more questions. She let's Vertin take them and warns her to not let them get turned into mud. Vertin smirks and promises to be careful. She thanks them both and heads out the door.
Madam Z watches her back retreat down the hall for a moment before closing the door. "I haven't seen Vertin this stressed in a long time."
Tooth Fairy touches her pouch of baby teeth. "Vertin...she's gotten taller again hasn't she?"
Madam Z smiles softly, "Just a bit."
