Also I've said this a bunch of times but I'm just... c!puffy's reaction to her friends betraying her and slaughtering her son in front of her is immediately labeled as a villain arc by the fandom. Coupled with one of her next streams being titled 'from mother to monster' even though... she never really ends up doing anything worse than being a dick to c!Ponk a couple times later. I honestly think now that it was never meant to be a 'villain arc' or at least I hope not, but instead how Puffy percieved herself after the banquet, and after her hero complex got wounded. Her post banquet ranting is more of an angry, traumatized and grieving parent venting than some epic plotting revenge girlboss moment. Even if the fansong made about that was so fucking cool.

Do you hate TTPD or are you just tired of the oversaturation of Taylor Swift that we've gotten in the last 4 years with Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, 4 re-recorded albums, the Eras tour, and all the hullabaloo about her breaking various streaming, sales, chart, and award records?

Do you hate TTPD or are you just massively turned off by the legions of fanatical Swifties who can't seem to wrap their minds around the idea that just because an artist is particularly good at creating music that resonates with them, does not mean that that artist is objectively the greatest and best music artist of all time and therefore above any criticism?

Do you hate TTPD or are you just disappointed with the fact that, after two indie folk albums filled with beautifully crafted, haunting ballads where TS exercises her skills as a storyteller, she has put out an album that basically demands that you are intimately familiar with her dating history to understand?

Do you hate TTPD or do you just wish she'd move on from Jack Antonoff's increasingly stale, repetitive, and honestly sort of lazy production?

#i had no interest in taylor swifts music until I listened to Folklore during covid and fell in love with it #it was so refreshing to hear what sounded like her genuinely maturing as a songwriter #it feels like she's regressing #this does not feel like an album that a woman in her mid 30s would write #oh well at least I got folklore and evermore #and can go back to throwing those songs on spotify mixes with REM Tori Amos and Damnation-era Opeth #and having it all fit together shockingly well #taylor swift #ttpd #the tortured poets department
