hi! not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but i'm a new exo-l (just got into exo a week ago!) and i'm trying to do my research about them before getting in too deep. do you know any legit resources for learning more about the chen + chanyeol scandals? particularly the chanyeol one? i've tried looking it up, but all i can find are clickbait articles... sorry, i know this is a drama-free zone, but i wasn't sure who else to ask! please feel free to answer this privately if you'd like!
hello! It's ok to ask here. Let me start by saying that both "scandals" were baseless and were debunked with SM taking legal action in the case of Chanyeol.
Regarding Chanyeol's case :
There were pics circulated (which clearly looked photoshopped) indicating that he is cheating on a girl. Chanyeol along with SM took legal action against that person. You can read about the legal action here. His fansites and endorsement deals remained intact. He wrote a letter to fans where he said, "I will do my best to make it clear that you were not wrong to believe in me." Answers on Quora about this situation can also be helpful to you. Baekhyun also hinted that the information spread by some netizens that she was introduced to Chanyeol by Baekhyun was false too. All the evidences were proven false with there being inconsistencies seen in the original statement by the Pann post which was later deleted.
Regarding Chen's case :
In 2020, Chen wrote a letter to fans where he announced that he is going to marry his girlfriend and that he is going to be a father soon. Almost all international exols congratulated him but there was hostility from the kfans who wanted him out of the group just because he is a father now. That year was very tough for Chen. International exols cheered for him in the festivals that performed in all the world. K-exols (or kerries) are now also slowly starting to cheer for him again. He even gained some new fansites. I won't even consider his situation a scandal. It was just a part of fandom being petty and controlling.

how long have u been an exo fan/how did you become a fan?
i've mostly listened to them casually since 2019 without me knowing they were kpop.. like for some reason i have artificial love and transformer in my liked songs from my pre kpop era for some fucking reason?
and then this is a self burn to admit but i got into them because of superm. late 2020 i stumbled into the superm reality show on youtube and from there i branched off into the different groups that made them up..
then in early 2021 i was bewitched by the performance of lady luck you know the one with the acoustic medley at exordium i think it was... and I was like holy fuck you mean I was listening to fuck ass superm when I could have been listening to this????
but what made me ult them was definitely chanyeol i am not afraid to admit i followed my pussy on that one... that editorial for w korea with the platinum undercut did it for me not gonna lie... like my first comeback was dftf so you can imagine the state of things.... chanyeol in the trenches baekhyun followed suit jongdae was getting death threats and no one had seen or heard from suho and kyungsoo in months.... I legit don't understand how or why I decided to become an exo stan at the time

SO... this Time and Memory Universe of mine is just a self-indulgent, college, slice-of-life series that I do not plan on legitimately writing 💀

Headcanons
Ellie and Jessie first met being classmates since intermediate, bonding over having twin brothers. The brothers eventually meet too and the four have been pretty close ever since.
Eli met Kevin through being in a club together, and Eli being the extrovert, adopted the introvert.
Josh met Mari and Sam being in the same education course and often worked with them and they eventually joined the group.
Similarly, Josh meets Lee through the same process. Coincidentally, Lee caught Eli’s interest and he adopted the introvert too.
Eli and Ellie bicker the most and cause the most silly drama. Surprisingly, Kevin is one to start drama too. Eli tends to be the butt of the jokes. Mari and Sam are the parents of the group, and everyone babies Lee (and Kevin).

aside from the not so discreet flying kiss moment another cb moment that just gets me speechless is baekhyun birthday ig post for chanyeol back in 2016: the kissy lip pic. that shit was crazy especially since we all know that baekhyun is a pretty private person so he doesnt usually post public birthday greetings like that, and i think aside from the fact that the pic was a cropped picture of his lips, he only posted something like that for chanyeol. at least that's what i remember. like i swear i wasnt genuinely expecting he would post something like the usual, and then boom right as the clock hits 12 midnight he dropped that shit. i went insane fr......... it just makes me sad that since the post was so.... bizarre even the non-shippers thought it was weird that he posted that, though in a much more negative way... and yet he never deleted it 😭 he never posted a birthday greeting again after that right?

Seriously txt going to any award show and that part where all idols are on one stage makes me question my eyes. I legit thought hyunjin and tzuyu were tall but then suddenly those tall ass bitches from txt pop up and omg I can spend hours talkimg about that
Seriously, though it's like they have a height limit and Taehyun just barely passed. Like you don't notice when it's just them, When I first got into txt I didn't realize just how tall they were. Then I saw them around other idols and it's like wait why are they so huge? When did this happen. And when Soobin and Yeonjun host music shows. Like they just had to put Changbin right beside Yeonjun. And Chan was looking up at him with such adoration like a little elf. They looked like Snow white and the seven dwarfs beside Yeonjun. Couldn't put Hyunjin beside Yeonjun to give them a fighting chance. They looked so tiny beside him. With Bts they don't look too tall cause most of Bts are the same height. I wanna see them with NCT, all of NCT I feel like they'll actually blend in. If their near the tall ones. Also Heuning Kai and Taehyun can still get a little taller cause Chanyeol was 6'0 when he debuted at the same age. And he's 6'1 now. Like just an inch. Sehun & Kai grew an inch too. Jisung can still get Taller too. Not by much maybe a few centimeters, they're pretty much at their full adult height now but there's a possibility.

being allowed to perform like that meant a lot to jinyoung. slowly, as he was easing into the every day life of a model, he had to admit he missed the performing aspects of his training. so getting the chance to still sing and dance on stage in both newsies and like this meant a lot to him. he wanted to keep doing it with every opportunity given to him so now sitting on this stage, people looking back at him with expectations and raised phones left him more flustered than he’d like to show or admit.
he’d rarely had the chance to legit be on a solo stage, always having the back up of other trainees and people around him to blend into the background. if anything, he could probably count down the amount of times he appeared to perform solo in topic on one hand. it was nerve-wracking to say the least. he tried to keep his voice calm, his smiles gentle and his responses during the talking sections pleasant and light. never having been much of a talker or a person to stand by himself, for himself, he had to admit this was as far out of his comfort zone as it could get.
but looking into the impressed faces of his audience as he sang, along with the way the crowd seemed to follow him as he tried to animate them to sway or clap along felt nice and reassuring in the best way. he allowed himself to feed off the energy they were giving him while allowing himself to make them feel great in return. and when he closed up his performance for the night and this trimester, he took a deep, grateful bow to them for listening to him as he tried to take his first baby steps out there as a debuted model and potential artist if anyone was willing to pick him up as a feature.
