Watched recent F&C episodes, listened to the Everything in You, and gotta say
I really enjoy the line "We got something to lose."
It's so uncommon to hear, in a love song of all places. Throughout the years "got nothing to lose" was/is the standard when talking about youth or love: Night of our lives and the night is young, forever young, just do it, you have nothing to lose. It's romantic and easily marketable, and it's a fantasy.
Despite how sugar sweet the bus station song chirps in your ear, it's brutally honest. Not ever in human life is there a moment where you have nothing to lose. The act of falling in love itself is the admission that you're willing to have and potentially lose.
That's why that line hits like a guitar in the face, and it's at the very start too. Betty and Simon's relationship is tragic, the writers are not letting us forget it for a second even in a scene that fr invented romance.

outside of the silly and smart aspects I think the reason I love senku so much is that he's just so. human. and since it's 2am I have no self control so.
I'll only be taking manga pages for animated scenes here so no big spoilers but here we go
<pos rant>
first of all despite his logic and reasoning on the outside, and his grudge against romance (aromantic ass), throughout the series he's shown to deeply care very deeply about his friends:
he cried thinking about byakuya and tsukasa
he was genuinely relieved when he found out the sulfa drug could cure ruri
and he wanted suika to be happy so he let her keep sagara, which ukyo picked up on too
and this isn't even counting the many inventions and stuff he made for others, like the sulfa drug, car, and camera. or how he waited so long for taiju to revive, and he even let him revive yuzuriha, which as tsukasa pointed out was not the most logical strategy but it was for the sake of the two of them
he also showed genuine fear during the sulfuric acid / H₂SO₄ collecting segment:
and genuine fear is rarely portrayed this way in most of the media I've consumed, it's usually either the easily scared people or strong characters already dying or facing some eldritch horror, or maybe their closest friend facing death by said eldritch horror
and imo that terror has a slightly different nuance than the fear senku shows here. the fear even BEFORE encountering H₂SO₄, just thinking about the possibility of death, even though he's trying desperately to stay calm and be a strong leader. he's the last resort for humanity to revive over a reasonable time scale and he HAS to win
at first he was also scared for his friend, chrome, telling him to stay behind for his safety, but later respects his decision to tag along and entrusts his life to him
and this was all to save ruri, back when he only knew her as kohaku's sister, even before having "I need to know how tf she knows about last names" as a reason
and he has always been proud of his allies' achievements, like when chrome and kaseki's projects succeed, when gen did some mentalist trickery to hyouga, etc.
he also SUPER excited about science, happily plotting and narrating reactions and concepts
and some mild ooc spoilers but I just know he totally wanted that fidget spinner lmao
anyway. I can't think of anything else (I have spent an hour and a half on this) so.
tl;dr this man is a mad scientist on the outside but a total nerd and softie on the inside and I love that for him (he's just like me fr)

Its Spidersona Season again bois
Right ended up watching Across the Spiderverse like a few weeks ago and I made this spidersona of mine. I had to force my art block out (i’m fr here, college drained me JDFHBSHJGBN)
Anyways here’s Spiderlily! Basically she’s from Earth-1212 which happens to be a mirror of our Earth, which happens to be Earth-1218 but the difference is that its more in line with the MCU’s technological advancements which would explain why her suit looks more MCU-esque. I also added jojo stuff in bc why not hbhjsabfhjsb
Anyways minor lore:
Her name is Eleanor 'Elle/El' Florentino, goes by she/her pronouns, a college student who has ADHD hailing from the Philippines and was eventually bit by a radioactive mirror spider that was hiding in a bouquet of spider lilies, which would explain her name. One of her many canon events is her finding out that her grandmother is Madam Okto (It gets worse because Elle just recently turned into Spiderlily at the age of 24 and she's a new spider-person when this happens), the Doc Oc of her universe and both are unaware that they're each other's arch-nemisis. The moment Elle finds out is when her mask falls away and Madame Okto's about to do the final blow, only to find out that 'oh shit this is my granddaughter wtf' and it's just a wake up call to them both. Her grandfather died when she was 14 before she even became Spiderlily due to an illness and is a retired cop.
Her other canon events include:
-three out of her former friends are the equivalents of the following: Green Goblin, La Vuitre ( a play on the Filipino word for Vulture which happens to be Buitre) and Mysterio and she finds this out when she becomes Spiderlily.
-she has no Gwen Stacy BUT she does have her own version of MJ but they're not like together, it was an unrequited romance thing when she was 16 (based on someone I know HFBFJSJD)
-getting sent into Miguel's timeline, which sealed her fate as a Spider-person in the first place.
She’s also good friends with Hobie and Pav and considers the two of them as her younger brothers, adores the living shit out of Mayday, and is the only one who questions Miguel’s theory about the Multi-Verse and all of the canon events that he has about the fate of Spider-people becoming the person they are now.
Her powers include the standard spiderperson powers but she has the ability to produce and construct shields in the shape of octagons, unravelling herself into webs/web-strands, and being able to shrink and resize herself but for only limited amounts of time. (both are jojo references actually, mainly Jolyne and Formaggio :”D) She also can produce natural webs as well!
Also her gloves/brass knuckle combo happens to be an old invention of mine that I made back in 2015/2016 when I was in my Assassin’s Creed phase, which happens to be this thing:
