Let's talk about my Rock/Gemstone baby headcanons!!
Rock babies are made completely asexually via a long and complicated magic ritual- one that can performed by one or multiple people.
Tumblr media
The goal of the ritual is to give the chosen stone/gem a soul. This is the key difference between your average normal rock and a rock baby.
Tumblr media
Once given a soul- The baby needs a lot of energy from this point on to form. Taking care of the rock in this state- as in, spending time with them, carrying them around with you and sleeping with them nearby- are all acts of care that the baby absorbs and turns into energy needed to form.
Without a parent to consistently check on and care for the baby before it has formed, they will go dormant! Basically, meaning that the soul enters a sort of rest mode to prolong their survival and that the baby itself becomes indiscernible from a normal stone.
If a dormant baby is left unattended to long enough, the soul will eventually fade
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How the baby looks after they're formed is heavily dependent on the original parent/s, the rock itself and the environment the rock is found in.
When it comes to Skeppy Jr specifically- Niki had found him while he was dormant. Whoever had originally made him- for whatever reason, where long gone!
Tumblr media
Bad had gotten Skeppy Jr as a gift- and started caring for him as if he was alive. Him not knowing that it was a real baby- didn't change the fact that the love was there. Which was just what Skeppy Jr needed to start forming again-! Yippie!!!

More minecraft hcs
- tighnari lives away from everyone and has the best farm. He always has melons and coco beans
- Ventis always at low health and cant sprint because his hunger is low
- Teucer get on childes account sometimes, its fun when this happens while someone is streaming
- ayaka is absolutely INSANE at doing build, along with albedo
- venti steals stuff from everyone houses, mostly food. Theres a lot of "venti stay out" signs around most of their houses
- albedo gets melons from tighnari and gold nuggets from ayaka so he can make glistening melons for potions
- stars never fought the ender dragon before so they do it with scara (hes fighting while they run around, looking at the ground cause of the enderman), they display the dragon egg in their house
- they had an event where they were all on, living in one house in the world. The house got blown up and everyone was screaming in the end
- star changes into a herobrine skin to scare childe. They do those silly minecraft summoning things. Like the netherack to summon herobrine, or the aether portal
- teucer and klee played together on the world, jean had to intervene and fix the destruction. Many withers were spawned
- for where everyone lives:
tighnari is in the jungle biome
venti is in the desert, living in a villagers house
jean doesnt have a house, she's the only one in creative so she doesn't need one
Kazuha in the ocean monument
Heizou watched youtube tutorials to make his house look like their actual place
Xiao and aether have their cute cottage but the surroundings are ugly. Xiao probably put down a chest near the house and never got rid of it
Ayaka lives in the nether, she likes the striders and piglins
Albedo made an absolutely insane build in the side of the mountain
star probably also lived in a villagers house i wont lie
Scaras house was underground, he was trying to hide it from star and childe
They both eventually built a house together in the mushrooms biome
OMG THESE R SO GOOD MY MC KNOWLEDGE IS LIMITED SO TY 🙏

summary: Etho is handsy with his teammates
warnings: none!
summary: putting team ties in my mouth and fuckin chewing on them. so critter.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/55232617/chapters/140096650
Tumblr media
"Yeah, it's just a plan right now, but it'll work," Etho explained, his hands came to rest upon Tango's claws. Idly playing with them, the texture was rough and netherack adjacent. The tips were sharp enough to do fatal damage to him if Tango so desired. "Team Ties is gonna make it to the top three."
"All four of us?" Impulse asked, watching as Tango simply burned up.
"Well, maybe not Skizz. Cause he's," Etho gives an absent little laugh, filling the dead air as he scoured for words. "He's not the best at these twisted games Grian sets up for us."
"Dick," Skizz spits.
"You love me," Etho shot back, and then he tacked on, "Bud," for good measure.
Skizz rolled his eyes.
"Etho," Tango said quietly before digging his claws into Etho's hands, only then did the kitsune launch back. A full body recoil really.
"Sorry, I didn't even realize I was doing it," He apologized, rubbing his hands off on each other.
"It's fine, Etho," Tango answered with, "Should we get you something to fiddle with next time?"
"No." Etho fumed, he much preferred playing with his friends hands thank you very much.

dude. xerith. idk if you saw my reblog of madcatlad’s post, BUT. they cooked. the issue on the table: nether withdrawals. i’m insane about this.
very much exploring the idea of the calling being more about fighting the addiction that is the nether itself for shadow knights, rather than purely the aggression part.
thoughts? musings?
Oh Cinn, oh Cinn you've brought my attention to something beautiful.
Little known fact about me because I'm still pretty decent about over sharing on the internet, addiction is something I've actually thrown hands with before. The idea of the Calling as an addiction to the Nether?? Now that's a concept I can latch onto.
I think that there could be ways to satiate withdrawal, but not in an exactly helpful way. The Calling is in Shadow Knights brains like "Oooh you wanna kill your loved ones and come back to the Nether soooo bad." But minor acts of violence and arson can make it shut up. Enough bloodshed, such as what happens at the Werewolf Wedding, is enough to make it so a knight isn't drawn to the idea of killing their loved one anymore because the urge for blood has been answered. Of course... Most Shadow Knights fighting the call aren't exactly happy when something like the Werewolf Wedding happens to them.
As for the urge of the Nether, they could always try to answer that with things that are like the Nether or remind them of it. Sitting by a fire, setting things on fire, sitting in a pool of hot water that can at least try and simulate lava, setting things on fire, existing in the bitter dry heat of an Arizonan morning, or setting things on fire. The Calling always responds best to the most violent solution, and even while trying to satiate it, it's still pulling at the mental strings of a knight to make the most violent decisions possible.
That idea of being able to sit by a fire instead of setting something ablaze really sucks for Knights who might have been traumatized by the Nether and struggle to be around fire for very long as a result, Laurance.
A lot of moments of a premature Shadow Knight lashing out aren't necessarily because the Calling is making them want to kill, it's because it's making them want to go back to something they know is bad for them. It's a drug that they've overdosed on and are trying to run away from still present in their veins and urging them to take another dose, regardless of its lethality. That kind of mental gymnastics and battle wears down at a person even when they aren't actively fighting. Even if they aren't in their head fighting the Calling and it's urges, it's still there. They still think about it.
Laurance doesn't want to go back to The Nether. He would rather die again than go back there. But when he sees the frame of a portal, when he's nearby one that's unstable, he has to fight. He has to fight his body and its urge to go back to that hell. Just one hit will make him feel better. Just a chance to touch netherack and breathe that ashy air will soothe his worries. Because being reminded of the Nether, even if it causes a trauma response, does cause a part of his brain to feel good. The Calling sees fire and gives him a shot of dopamine and excitement.
Wouldn't it just be so nice if he went back? If he didn't have to feel this constant drain? If he was in the Nether then the Calling would shut up, right? Wouldn't it be so amazing to just feel this good all the time? He's already dead, what damage can be done to his body afterwards?
Of course the Calling has two components, both addictive. One is of course the urge to go to the Nether. The other is that urge to kill your loved one and gain immortality. Doing one only makes the other feel stronger. Oh, you sat next to a Nether portal and made it so you're now comfortable in the over world? Bet you wanna kill your lord right about now, huh?
What's that, you actually killed your lord? Well, don't you just wanna come home to the Nether where you're surrounded by people who have all done the same and won't hate you for it? Go on, you know you want to.
Like everything else, it comes down to the Shadow Kings need to control. If he can make Shadow Knights into addicts of stuff directly associated with him, they'll be more loyal. They'll serve him to get a fix of bloodshed and hell fire. They'll come running back to him after ruining their lives for his enjoyment, and they'll fall at his feet for the chance to become a higher up in their army. He deprives them of everything they ever could have had and calls it freedom.

okay yeah here he is!!
notes + face without the glasses under the cut :p
- gas mask is because, while overworld air won’t kill him, it does tend to make netherborns sick. it’s assumed this is for the same reasons that piglins and hoglins zombify
- the claw thing is literally used to rip peoples hearts out. it doesn’t get used very often, the last time was probably over a hundred years ago, but it’s kept around as jewellery and for intimidating people
- he’s a prince in the same way that adventure time princesses are princesses aka he’s the sole ruler of his kingdom, no king or queen. princedom then i guess?
- the red gems are like. compressed netherack. the same way you can compress coal to make diamonds irl i guess
- don’t question the pants there is no tactical advantage to them besides maybe. better airflow in a hot environment?? but honestly i just thought they looked cool
- also don’t question the long hair idk why i did that but i’m glad i did. i didn’t draw it but i do imagine there’s some sort of ornate golden comb thing tucked into the top of the braid. you know the kind

I have 0 coding ability, but hypothetically, I would love to make a minecraft mod that adds weather to the Nether.
OBV the nether is a giant cave, so rain isn't an option, but it could have...
Tremors: Rumbling sounds, mild screen shake, block breaking particles.
Hot fronts: Fire on netherack has a chance to spread (similar to snow in the overworld), and lava bubbles more.
Cold fronts: Fire on netherack has a chance to extinguish, the flow of lava slows to its overworld speed.
The ambient sounds imply wind, so I't be cool if the weather cycle is based on them, similar to real life.

22 and Ranchers for the kissing prompt?
Prompt 22: In a rush of adrenaline
Their feet pounded over the hard, crumbly netherack ground, skidding occasionally as small pieces rolled under their feet. The sounds of the piglin soldiers, hot in their pursuit encouraging them on with the promise of capture and a slow death after. The faint purple glow of the portal caught Jimmy’s eye, he tugged on Tango’s hand, which he hadn’t let go the whole time, they banked left. As the leaped through, a crossbow bolt sunk deep into the obsidian frame, where it stuck, quivering slightly. The purple mist engulfed them, along with the faint nausea that came with dimensional travel. They burst through on the other side, landing on wet concrete in some alleyway, stumbling a little they quickly went around the corner and stopped, panting heavily. They looked at each other, hair slicked with sweat and various nether dust on their faces and clothes. On impulse, Jimmy grabs Tango’s face and presses their lips together, he made a surprised noise before grabbing his face back and deepening the kiss. They broke apart, now smiling, Tango carefully grabbed his hand and led him out of the alley.
Look at me, writing a kiss!! Thanks so much for the ask anon!! This was so much fun!

So thoughts about desert alien au. If I recall correctly you mentioned that while he likes the warmth of the Nether, he doesn't like the lack of sand or the dangers.
The s9 nether hub as an out of the way corner room filled to the brim with overworld sand. It's easily deep enough to stand in, or say bury yourself in and soak up the heat for hours. When Tango showed Scar, he ended up flat on his back under a large purring alien. That was all it took to make the hours of hauling shulkers of sand in from the Overworld worth it.
See, Tango knows what it's like to be from someplace all your friends find inhospitable. He's sat around a roaring fire in the Overworld and still felt cold. He's seen his friends pant and sweat as they trekked through the Nether just as he's finally starting warm up to something approaching comfortable.
So when he sees Scar shiver on a warm Overworld day, or watches him plow through harvesting terra cotta while other hermits grouse about the heat, he understands. He picks up on the sigh of relief whenever Scar steps into the Nether, then sees his shoulders droop as he looks around at the landscape. When combined with the time he happened upon Scar carefully brushing sand out of Jellie's fur, while grains of it drifted out of his own hair, well Tango can be dense sometimes, but his smarts are not only confined to redstone.
Hence an out of the way corner of the Nether hub he designed has room filled with sand, heated by a conveniently placed mass of magma blocks below a few layers of netherack. It's warm and cozy, and sometimes when the cold of Deep Frost gets to him, Tango will come and chill there himself, though he skips burying himself in sand. But it's a safe spot for his friend to come, when the Overworld gets to be a little to chilly and he needs to bask in heat warm enough to thaw the chill in his bones.
And when Tango's flying through the Hub and hears a contented rumble coming from that direction, he gives a fond smile and vows to make sure every hub has a sand pit for his fellow hot climate hermit.
-The Weird Nonny
OH MY GOSH YES YES YES I LOVE THIS SM!!!!
YESSSSSSS!!!!
