Khaji Da does NOT like how vulnerable Jaime is when he’s sleeping. So they resolve that, once Jaime is asleep, they will position themselves into the optimal sleeping situation. Back to the wall (Khaji protected), attached to the corner ceiling (where they can see everything and have a height advantage), and keeping Jaime as close to his usual sleeping position as possible (stomach sleeper).

You may be wondering ‘how is it this gets found out if Khaji makes sure they do it while Jaime is asleep?’ Welllll….

I think about Armand’s Marius Issues ᵀᴹ a lot but I’m rereading his book and now I can’t stop thinking about his Bianca Issues ᵀᴹ too.

Like yes, Armand and his pets are a way to work through his experiences with Marius but Daniel in particular parallels Bianca a lot. Bianca was someone Armand was in love with (albeit in a naive teen crush sort of way), the first mortal he ever went and told his vampire secret to. Even in knowing Armand was a vampire Bianca loved him all the same, still treated him as something of an equal, still went out with him and let him dress her up to have adventures in the mortal world every night. On some subconscious level, under all obvious Marius related troubles, Armand is chasing that with Daniel too. (also all of the weird vampire/mortal threesomes? That shit is all about Marius and Bianca)

When he warns Daniel that other vampires might seek to harm him just because he’s with Armand I always go back to Marius intending to kill Bianca. How helpless Armand must have felt in that in that moment, the first time he learned that those he loved would always be in danger simply because of his love for them (because Marius can talk as much shit as he wants about it being a lesson in killing evil doers, but on some level that had to do with Armand having slept with Bianca and having feelings for her too)

Then the safe spaces he makes in the form of Night Island and Trinity Gate are homages to Bianca’s home, the one place he could run to when he was upset and know nothing bad would happen to him, that Bianca would let him rest there however long he liked. Armand keeps both of his homes open like a courtesan’s home, taking all guests and letting his select lovers drift in and out. Trinity Gate is filled with Sybelle’s music, just as Bianca’s home was. Bianca gave him stability and safety in a strange and overwhelming period of his life and Armand tries so hard to give that to others (and to himself) now.

So it’s especially painful to know that not only did Marius abandon him, but Bianca did too. As a fledgling vampire she couldn’t have marched into the Children of Satan alone (understandably) but she never goes back, and the one time Armand does see her in the streets she turns away. Maybe she actually was scared like Armand thought, but it hurt him in a way it took centuries for him to realize.

It’s a shame that Anne Rice didn’t see fit to include their reconciliation in Prince Lestat, or Armand’s reaction to Marius admitting in Blood and Gold and he and Bianca had come and seen him in Paris. As much as Marius left indelible marks on his life, his relationship to Bianca and her seeming disappearance did too.

I might be giving away my age here, but one of the first games that got me into Greek mythology was Poptropica. (I did say that I might be giving away my age.) I haven’t played it in ages, but the Mythology Island quest was truly top-tier. And that mission where you have to rinse off the graffiti on the entrance to Hades’ realm?

“Hades is a deadbeat.”

After reading the Percy Jackson series, I can honestly say that out all the gods and goddesses, Hades is the least deadbeat parent. On the contrary, he might be the best parent out of all of them, at least according to godly parent standards.

Hades hiding Nico and Bianca away so one of them could be the child of the initial prophecy never really made a ton of sense to me but the more I think about it him hiding them away after Maria's death to keep them safe like he promised. She didn't want her children to live in the Underworld and so he didn't do that, but also maybe at some point after she died and he failed to protect her he realized that nowhere would truly be safe for Nico and Bianca as the war raged on and he tucked them away in the Lotus Hotel because the safest place for them to be is at the end of the war. But then the pact was made, and he wasn't supposed to have anymore children and his brothers probably thought all of his were dead already because they didn't realize he'd hid cards up his sleeve, and so he just had Bianca and Nico in the hotel for all those years less because he didn't want them out, and less because he wanted one of them to be the child of the prophecy and more so because he was just waiting for his brothers to fuck up and break their pact and have kids so then he could be like "well if you don't want me to be mad at you and destroy your children your not supposed to have then you can't destroy my children either" kind of deal... also thinking about how Hades wanted Bianca to be the child of the prophecy, or maybe just expected it to be her, so he uses Nico more as a pawn and more as collateral which is kind of a whole thing in the plot.... idk if this is even anything

#also i read a fic where hades told nico he'd “saved the best for last” as in he wouldnt have anymore kids after nico #because of the pact and stuff but also that nico was special to him and had sort of out preformed his mortal children previously in everyway #and i just kind of thought it was sweet and so different from him originally telling nico he'd wished bianca had lived instead #like a full circle moment....#idk #pjo #nico di angelo

i am so confused as to whether or not bianca/chris was planned from the jump or if the idea came later and the writers just cobbled chris crossed together 'cause if chris is engaged to bianca why is he also hooking up with the charge that leo assigns him? like wtf? either this pairing wasn't planned or bianca and chris are poly except given when this season aired no way in hell would they go for something quite this progressive so again wtf??

Oh, they definitely didn't plan on Bianca lmao. I love season six, and it's one of my favorites, but the continuity is a mess. (I mean, Witchstock my beloathed.) They absolutely had no intention of Chris having a fiancé before then, especially between his thing with the Valkyrie and his charge Natalie. I love them anyways, but there's a reason that I say that the writers put next to no thought into their story.

For a Watsonian explanation though, I explain both encounters as manipulation and lack of memory. In regards to Mist, I always viewed it as him manipulating her to stay on the Valkyrie's good side. I mean, despite the show's (weird) approach to them, they're intended to be good beings. Keeping an Elder, who also has close ties to the Charmed Ones, has to be sketchy for them, so Chris has to keep an eye on that situation so. Kissing Mist it is.

As for Natalie, I see it as he only slept with her when the Cleaners erased Wyatt's memory from everyone. Without Wyatt, the future never would have happened and he never met Bianca, or at least started a relationship with her. Frankly, I've always been curious about what exactly Chris remembered because of how integral Wyatt was to his life. I mean, he literally doesn't remember why he's in the past, y'know? A pretty significant amount of his brain must have been wiped.

Honestly, it's kinda interesting to consider how Chris/Bianca classify their relationship boundaries, because he canonically uses sex(?) appeal to manipulate people when he needs to like with the Stillman sisters and while we don't actually see Bianca do that, this was a early 2000's show and she was a spy character so. The idea of using sex as a tactic vs. the authentic emotional intimacy between them... There's something there.

I will say that while I'm not necessarily opposed to Chris/Bianca being poly, I don't think that they are or at least have other romantic partners. Both of them have a pretty substantial amount of issues, don't trust easily, and don't open up to others very well. Personally, I think that they had a v slowburn relationship and even when they first started dating, I think that they had a lot of issues with the trust aspect of it, especially with the unchanged future. I feel like it'd be very difficult for either of them to find someone like that again and to go through that entire journey again. Plus, as far as I know, the number one key to that kind of relationship is communication and. Well, Bianca's a spy and Chris will say anything except the truth, so I'm not sure that either would be able to do that effectively. That said, you could definitely spin that, depending on the third character, but I don't know who they'd be.

Been thinking about how Daniel becomes a permanent resident of Trinity Gate, and how often he probably falls asleep early after Armand has worn him out, only to wake up and find one of Armand’s other loves (both romantic and platonic) on the other side of the bed. Like-

•Louis, who abhors being cold and hogs the blankets in his sleep. More than once Daniel has woken up in the middle of the day and had to wrestle the comforter back to his side. Other times it’s Louis with a book, reading aloud to Armand while he drags his fingers through his hair that stirs him. He never minds being disturbed by Louis though because Louis is a late sleeper like him, and that means with their powers combined they can convince Armand to stay in bed and cuddle the evening away.

• Lestat, who has developed the very modern problem of not being able to fall asleep without the tv on. Daniel always knows he’s shown up by the quiet sound of trashy reality tv, turned down low so Armand can sleep, and the absolutely insane amount of heat Lestat’s body with its ancient blood throws off when he’s fed.

• (but there’s also the other times when Daniel is woken up by Lestat’s elbow in his ribs as he engages Armand in some good morning making out. Daniel doesn’t care, he’s given all of them his permission to do whatever, and honestly half the time he gets his arms around Armand and joins in. But some nights he grumbles about Lestat being too fucking boney for his own good and rolls over for a few more minutes of sleep)

• And then once in a blue moon there’s Bianca, who he knows by the smell of her floral perfume. Daniel wakes up to them gossiping like schoolgirls late into the night, and to Bianca calling Armand ‘Amadeo’ (and she is the only one allowed to use that name, because in her heart he’ll forever be the sweet young man she adored)

• There’s even one time that it’s Riccardo, which is bizarre because do ghosts even need to sleep? But this is just Daniel’s life now, and Armand has told him the secret that when he was mortal sometimes he would sneak Riccardo in Marius’s room after he left. Mind racing from the blood, he wouldn’t be able to sleep, and Riccardo was more than happy to sit on the giant velvet bed and play cards with him until he passed out. (and just like old times, he finds a deck of cards tossed on the nightstand beside Armand)

• It’s not long before it being just the two of them actually feels weird, but on those nights they relive the good times at Night Island and put on a cheesy 80s movie. And finally Daniel gets to live out one of his greatest mortal fantasies, falling asleep in Armand’s arms and not waking up alone.
