Forever thinking about TCAF 2019
Where I Fully sprained my ankles about 2 days before
And proceeded to;
-Not go to a doctor
-Put some ice on it over night then ride the train to Toronto
-Go Immediately to a Furry Dance Party
-Walk on it All Day at TCAF (In heels if i remember correct. Not Tall heels mind, but i was not Flat Footed)
-Be absolutely Mystyfied about why i felt Naseaus all day and proceeded to throw up the next morning before my train home,, for the next Several Years
(the pain, it was the pain, i threw up because of how bad my ankle hurt)
And when i came back I Still didn't take time off work or go to the hospital or anything!! How I still have a perfectly functional ankle is Beyond me!

28!
"28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)"
So many?! Maybe too many to list if we're including zines/anthologies. I tag all my zine work here
I run a yearly shark charity zine called @swimonzine that opens for apps every May and is published every August! It's been going on for 8 years and I'm real proud of it!
As for events, I do MCX every year and boothed at TCAF 2019 which is my favourite show (I'll be applying for 2023).

5, 20, and 30
5. 3 colours to paint my room
OH HELL YEA uhh
I'd perhaps pick a nice oxblood colour, brown, or just like a warm greige colour??
Whatever would match my current desk setup and make my room feel similar to the Hunter's Workshop
20. 3 (more) adjectives I'd use to describe myself
Creative, attractive, and I guess you want me to say classy so I'll put that in.
30. 3 moments I could never forget
This is a really interesting and tough one and will require some extra thinking on my end.
a) The first thing that comes to my head is the incident that required me to get stitches on my lip when I was a toddler. I was tobogganing for the first and last time down a hill, and when I stood up I slipped and fell on my face right on a sheet of ice
It took about 5 nurses to hold me down once we got to the hospital because it was the scariest shit. I think I even remember the face of the doctor that stitched me up
b) I'll never forget how good it felt to beat the Orphan of Kos for the first time. IYKYK. The adrenaline followed by that sheer euphoria and relief is just indescribable
c) I'll never forget when I went to TCAF 2019 and got to see Junji Ito draw at a panel. It was one of the coolest moments in my life and despite the auditorium being a full house, you could hear a pin drop with how quiet it was because everyone was just watching him draw intently and listening to him and the interpreter answer questions

DEBUTING AT TCAF 2019: THE HANDMAID'S TALE: THE GRAPHIC NOVEL, BY MARGARET ATWOOD AND RENEE NAULT
Adapted from the novel by Margaret Atwood
Full Colour, 240 Pages, Published by McClelland & Stewart, CDN$29.95
An instant classic when it was published in 1985, Atwood’s genre-bending, dystopian story comes to life in this new, beautifully illustrated graphic novel. The story is iconic: In the Republic of Gilead, a Handmaid named Offred lives in the home of the Commander, to the purpose that she become pregnant with his child. Stripped of her most basic freedoms, (work, property, her own name), Offred remembers a different time, not so long ago, when she was valuable for more than her viable ovaries, when she was mother to a daughter she could keep, and when she and her husband lived and loved as equals. Darkly prescient, scathingly sarcastic, and eminently frightening, The Handmaid’s Tale has only gained relevance since it was originally published, and remains one of the most powerful, widely read stories of our times.

I just went to a panel at TCAF hosted by Junji Ito Sensei and he drew this original art while answering our questions. It was amazing! I took this photo with my phone of the original art.

Any followers going to TCAF?
I have a request if anyone will hear me out! ;o;
At TCAF 2019 Hiromi Takashima, the mangaka behind the wonderful yuri series Kase-san, will be attending! This series is super important to my twin sister @scrawlvitus and her girlfriend @p-curly. Unfortunately, since the con is in May and we have to move that month, none of us would be able to attend...
Hiromi Takashima is planning on signing copies of Kase-sign though!! It would be a total dream come true to get a signed manga... I know it’s a stretch but I’m hoping someone would possibly go through the trouble of procuring one for them.  We would pay for the book itself, any shipping costs and I would throw in a free drawing to thank you for all the effort! Please hmu via my DM’s if you are interested in helping us- I would be so, so grateful!! ~M

Jimmy went to New York Comic Con (NYCC) and got a bunch of interviews and did a couple of press rooms. In this episode, you'll hear his talk with Colleen AF Venable. It's been since 2019 that Colleen was last on the podcast at TCAF. She talks about working on comics for a younger audience, her role as associate director for original content w/ Epic! Kids, tattoos, bunnies, tv, film...so much more. Just a lovely conversation. Colleen is one of those people you instantly connect with and just feel so comfortable chatting. Amazing creator and even more awesome human! Also, get a hold of us!
