now, i feel like when it comes to canon, the states prolly get paid as government employees. they work with their state governments, they have their silly little meetings, it’s more plausible that they’re government employees
however.
the idea that that’s just their job as states and don’t get paid for it. which means they’d have to find other means of living. which means that some if not most of these guys have worked in fast food/retail and dealt with those types of shenanigans
the possibilities-

Trailer Oficial: Sombra Y Hueso Temporada 2

My Reaction to “Shadow and Bone” S1E1
Personally... I have never read the books on which this is based so I am going into this show completely blind. All I know is that Ben Barnes is in it as the bad guy and of course he is.
OK scratch that. I know that there’s a sequel spin off called “Six of Crows” and that’s been incorporated into the show.
But yeah. Here we go!
Still loving this new Netflix intro
I swear the opening font is the same as the one for “A Series of Unfortunate Events”
“The Shu Han didn’t want her either.” So she’s biracial? That definitely puts a spin on things.
What’s in the Fold? Shadow monsters? The freaking... Mind Flayer from Stranger Things?
Are Saints mages in this universe?
Aaww the bunny...
This is just a theory but what if there’s a plot twist and we find out that Mal also develops some sort of power. At this point, I know that Alina’s gonna be some sort of secret wizard or Grisha.
I really like the pseudo Russian Revolution aesthetic they have going on in this world. There’s also some imagery in some of the posters that look like they allude back to the racist caricatures in WWII. I don’t know if that last bit was intentional but it adds more depth to the world building.
Oooh who’s this dude with the cane? This string motif when he came in is great
What was the significance of the painting? Is that the Fold?
Is there a reason we panned up from seeing this dude’s hands?
“She isn’t like you [Inej]. No one is.” Oop.
*Alina is denied food by a racist cook* Oh wow
This girl just freaking straight up asks for a one night stand and my boy Mal here immediately goes “Nah I like supper better” so good for him
“I’ll find my way back to you.” Aaaww...
With the Fold currently bisecting the land, wouldn’t that just a huge burden on the economy? How do they send mail? Are there mail ships they send in? Do they go around the Fold?
“Why didn’t they try going under it? Dig a tunnel?” Meanwhile Jeremiah Valeska is grinning with glee somewhere in New England
BEN BARNES CAMEO
This guy [Pekka Rollins] is straight up using his victim as a personal footstool. Jesus.
I wonder how the audio description service for this show sounds.
The Black General? Is this still Ben Barnes? Yep.
“...And I’ll be there the whole time.” *chuckles*
*Alina sabotages the records to join Mal on the ship* Whoa whoa whoa...
So the Grisha serve Kirigan? I thought he was the bad guy... right?
“How many more [markers] are there?” “Thirty-seven.” *bug eyes*
*One of the guards lights a lantern* Oh your freaking idiot
*Alina shoots one of the monsters to save Mal* Ooohhh good shot!
No he [Mal] ain’t dead... don’t do this in the first episode
*Alexei runs off of the Fold by himself* This mother effer!
What do Heartrenders do exactly? Are they mind readers?
God you can cut glass with Kaz’s cheekbones, I swear
WAIT THIS IS A TIME JUMP?
I’m just watching Inej’s reaction to Alexei’s testimony so I wonder if she used to have a connection with West Ravka before joining the Crows.
Kidnapping side plot. Let’s go!

Un poder extraordinario podría cambiar el destino de un mundo devastado… “Sombra y Hueso”
