I crocheted a little plant :3 I recently got this pretty moss green yarn from a thrift store (though it’s more washed-out in the photos), so I wanted to use it to make another plant, since it’s a different green than I’ve used before.
I based this plant off of a string-of-pearls. The vines are basically just crocheted chains that I joined small bunches of as I went along. I crocheted some brown top soil and used a few rocks and fabric scaps to weigh down and stuff the inside of the pot.
Went out shopping with mum and bought myself a pot of Variegated String of Pearls (Curio rowleyanus) or better known by its synonym Senecio rowleyanus. This creeping succulent vine is native to the Cape Provinces of South Africa. Also called string of beads, it comes in both green and variegated colours. The latter had pearl-like leaves that are swirled in cream, green and sometimes even pink and purple colours with the right combination of sun stress and water.
I finally stuck some string of pearl cuttings in this glass clamshell! lots of people online say to just set the cuttings on top of soil but I've had very little success with that so I buried all the stems. a couple of the pearls are still connected with their buried stems.
