Zumba Kids Dance: How Does It Transform Your Children’s Health
Everyone enjoys popular songs such as American, Hip-hop, and other modern beats. It feels more like a party than a workout when mixed with Zumba choreography.
This Zumba workout appeals to people of all ages, including kids, teenagers, and adults. Zumba for kids has recently become one of the biggest trends.
Further, physical activity is essential for children's health due to their inactive lifestyle. Zumba is an excellent way to introduce fitness into children's routines since leaping, dancing, shaking, swinging, and moving are among their favorite pastimes.
Zumba provides the body with more energy and keeps it fit; daily exercise promotes a healthy lifestyle. A healthy generation is created by including exercise in your daily activity. Zumba not only adds fun to your workout but also produces results.
Tumblr media
It is generally structured with intervals of high and low-intensity dancing steps and fast-paced music to raise heart rate and build aerobic endurance while also burning the most fat.
Zumba Kids Dance is customized for children with age-appropriate speeds and a focus on creativity. Games and activities also help with balance, self-confidence, and teamwork.
Every child finds enjoyment in their activities. It's all about being fearless on the dance floor, encouraging the idea that it's OK to be yourself and dance like no one's watching.
If we talk more about the Zumba Kids Dance, it is the ultimate dance-fitness celebration for young Zumba lovers aged 5+, where they may play it and rock with their friends according to their own rules!
Who can Do It?
Zumba dance for kids does not require prior dance experience. The steps are simple to follow and remember, so even a young child may learn them. It is a dance that everyone can do.
It does not need any extra equipment or props. It also does not require any unique apparel; you may perform it in your usual, comfy clothes. All you need is a positive mindset and a desire to have a good time.
The Zumba dance workout for kids is a step up from the Zumba dance workout for adults. It ups the stakes by adding aerobics steps into the exercise. It raises the intensity at each level and is appropriate for older children's fitness requirements. It emphasizes strengthening the legs, as well as other body parts.
How do Zumba Kids work?
Zumba Kids Dance routines are modified to include kid-friendly exercises and high-energy, rocking music. The teachers break down the procedures and incorporate games, activities, and cultural components into the lesson plan. The kids will feel as if they are at a dance party with all of their buddies at the end. Moreover, adding some Hip-Hop into the Zumba class will increase enthusiasm in these courses.
This boosts your child's self-esteem, metabolism, and improves their coordination. The program emphasizes kid-friendly tunes and motions, as well as fundamental steps and choreography to encourage children to make healthy choices. Zumba combines fast and slow beats with children's aerobic/fitness approach.
What Are The Advantages of Zumba for Kids?
By making exercise fun, you can help your child develop a healthy lifestyle at a young age while also including fitness as a natural part of their life. There are several advantages of Zumba for kids; some of them are listed below:

Improves flexibility
Coordination of the neuromuscular system is improved

An excellent stress reliever

Promotes creativity and imagination.
Its sociable and enjoyable nature aids in the formation of new friendships.
In kids, one hour of Zumba burns roughly 300-400 calories, equal to 50 minutes of cycling or 72 minutes of walking.
Good dietary habits will enhance Zumba's effects. Pre- and post-Zumba meals are also crucial in maximizing Zumba's advantages. The following are a few examples:
Fruits, a glass of milk, vegetable roll, mixed dry fruits and nuts, and multigrain bread toast are all excellent pre-Zumba snacks.
Conclusion
This is how you can transform the mental and physical health of your kids.
Zumbini with Allie offers a Zumba kids dancing training program. We believe in your children's overall growth. BTS reaction to you exercising
What happens when BTS finds your exercising
Fluff, gender-neutral, mild suggestion of smut, but no actual smut
Let me know if you like it! :)
Jin:
Jin opened the door to his room, not expecting to see you in such a compromising position. You were doing yoga with your butt in the air, pointed straight at him. Before he could stop himself, a burst of giggles erupted from his mouth.
“Hey, don’t laugh at me!” You joked.
“I’m sorry, I just didn’t expect to find you like this.” He continued to laugh.
“I thought you wanted me to be bendy.” You winked before returning to your previous position. Jin felt his face heat up, and he decided to leave you to it.
Tumblr media
Yoongi:
You were doing some deep squats when you heard the front door of the hotel room open. You hadn’t expected Yoongi to be back so early from rehearsals. You continued squatting, wanting to meet your daily squat challenge goal.
Instead of saying anything, Yoongi put down his bag, walked around you and turned on the TV. After a minute, he paused the show.
“You could take a break and come join me,” he stated.
“I have 10 more squats! I can’t stop now, or I’ll never finish.” You panted.
“Yeah, okay, well I’m not going to join you or anything.”
“You already danced all day, you don’t have to.”
After finishing your last squat, you walked over to the couch to join him. He pretended to be disgusted by your sweat, but you buried your face into his neck anyway.
“You’re lucky I love you.” He said.
Tumblr media
Hoseok:
You loved Zumba, but you never did it while the boys were around. They were all amazing dancers, especially Hoseok, your boyfriend. You tried to be good at dancing, but honestly, it never worked out. Knowing that the boys were out for rehearsals or press or something (you could never keep their schedule straight), you pressed play on a new dance.
After a few attempts, sweat was starting to drip down your face, and you were sure you were getting the hang of it. Just as the chorus came back around, Hoseok stepped into the living room. He started laughing and ran over to join you.
Instead of following the choreography, he grabbed your hands and started to spin you around.
“Y/N, why didn’t you tell me you liked to dance! We could have been dancing together all this time.” He pouted.
You gave him a quick peck. “I thought you would laugh at me.”
“Of course I’ll laugh at you, but I still want to dance with you!” Hoseok laughed.
Tumblr media
Namjoon:
After finally moving all of your stuff, including a very large treadmill, into your and Namjoon’s new apartment, you decided it was the perfect time for a run. Namjoon was in the shower, and you figured he would be finished just in time for you to shower post-run.
After lacing up your shoes, you jumped on the treadmill. Like always, you blasted hip-hop from your living room speakers to pump you up.
Eventually, Namjoon walked in wearing just a towel. He watched you running and starting rapping along with the chorus. After a few more minutes, you slowed down your speed. He threw a small towel at you.
“Need to take a shower?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’ll be done in a few minutes.” You said, wiping the sweat from your forehead.
“Not if I can help it,” he winked. After wrapping his arms around your waist, he picked you up, carrying you into the bathroom.
Tumblr media
Jimin:
Jimin was always asking you to come to the dance studio with him. He had created a dance to your favorite slow song that you two could do together. The problem: you were awful at dancing.
“But Jiminie, you know I’m terrible at dancing.” You moaned as he pulled your arm, dragging you onto the floor.
“But I don’t, because you won’t dance with me.” He pouted.
“Fine. But you can’t laugh at me.”
Jimin slowly showed you the moves. They weren’t as difficult as you had imagined them to be.
“Stop looking in the mirror. Just look at me.” Jimin carefully turned your head towards him. He started going through the steps with you again, and somehow you managed to keep up. There were a few stumbles here and there, but for the first time, Jimin was getting his wish of dancing with you.
Tumblr media
Taehyung:
You had just started your strength training video for the day. The boys were at an interview, and you were in one of their hotel rooms. In just your shorts and workout gear, you began copying the moves from the video instructor. You hated exercising but knew you weren’t blessed with a metabolism that would allow you to stay small without it.
After the 30-minute session ended, you laid down on the floor. You were too tired to make your way to the shower. Closing your eyes for just a moment, you needed to relax. Before you knew it, you heard the door opening. Jungkook, Hoseok, and your boyfriend, Taehyung stepped into the room.
Jungkook and Hoseok immediately began to laugh at you laying on the floor. Your heart sunk. Being embarrassed by your boyfriend's best friends was not something you ever wanted to experience again.
“Stop, get out.” Taehyung pushed the other two boys out of the door. He ran up to you and held your chin up. “You look so beautiful.”
You could hardly look at him with how embarrassed you were feeling.
“I don’t,” you whispered.
“You always look beautiful. I love you so much.” Taehyung smiled, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
Tumblr media
Jungkoook:
You were on your way back to the dorms after a quick morning run. Just when the building was insight, you spotted Jungkook and Jimin coming back with coffees in hand. Waving to Jungkook, you missed your footing and tripped.
You flew forward, catching yourself with your hands. Jungkook immediately shoved the coffees into Jimin’s hands, not caring that Jimin didn’t catch both of them. He ran over to you and helped you off the street.
“Y/N, are you okay?” He gasped, looking you up and down.
“Ouch.” You stated, holding up the palms of your hands which had just started to bleed.
“Come one,” Jungkook pulled you towards the building and helped you inside. Once in the dorms, he quickly found a towel and wet it. He started dabbing at your hands. “You have to be more careful.”
“I was just excited to see you.”
“I know, but you made me spill your coffee when you fell.”
You pouted hearing that your coffee was outside on the sidewalk.
“It’s okay, I took Yoongi’s coffee for you.” Jungkook smiled and pulled the coffee off the counter-top. You leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to his nose.
“I love you.” You smiled.

Try a new activity: Keep moving with Go365
Tumblr media
Set yourself up for a healthy holiday season and earn Points.
If you find yourself literally counting down the seconds left in your elliptical workout or sick of running the same streets every morning, it’s time to switch up your routine. Keep your workouts from becoming stale by trying new things to jump-start your healthy holiday habits. Venture into a Zumba class for a total change of pace, or just try tweaking your usual activity.
Switch up your routine Instead of running the same distance at your normal pace, add some speed intervals. Incorporate some resistance training and do a bit less cardio. Being active means enjoying the journey and the process. Humans are creatures of habit. But, don’t brush off a certain type of exercise until you give it a fair shot. Balance is key. You might come to love it. When the type of exercise you find becomes your favorite activity, participating in it doesn’t become a chore, but rather something you look forward to every day.
Find a fitness buddy One of the best ways to stay engaged with exercise and committed to a regular schedule of activity is to find people you want to work out with. Join a running group, try a spin class or strike up a conversation while doing partner stretches in a yoga class.
Push beyond the plateau You don't want to hit a plateau in your exercise routine, especially during the holidays. If you do the same workouts at the same intensity all of the time, you are less likely to progress in strength and/or cardiovascular performance. Sometimes trying something new can mean working on active recovery techniques to avoid burnout and allowing your body time to repair itself.
Stretching and balance movements can help you:
Keep joints flexible
Reduce the risk of injury
Get ready for activities, like walking and swimming
Build core muscle strength
Low-impact activity ideas:
Pilates and other slow, stretching and balance-based movements
Tai chi or other disciplines rooted in a culture that you’re interested in learning about can help you stay focused
Using a medicine ball or stretch bands
Dancing, which is also an aerobic activity

Diet Vs. Exercise – Which is Better For Weight Loss?
Tumblr media
“What works best when it comes to weight loss? Diet or exercise?” I questioned few of my friends, family, and colleagues and 2 out of 3 said that it’s a blend of both. Unfortunately, that consensus complicated things for me. Because I have been coupling both, and yet, the weighing scale doesn’t seem to move. It was clear to me that it is the time for some fact-checking. So, I set out to find out the hows and whys and came to the conclusion that I never thought I would! In this article, I have put down everything I learned about what works for weight loss – exercise or diet or a smart combination of both. Keep reading, and you will break your weight loss plateau – that’s a guarantee. Let’s start!
A Few Necessary Points One Must Know
To understand if exercise works better or a diet does, let us first discuss a few essential points:
Your body is not like someone else’s. So, if a low-carb diet suits someone else, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will suit you.
Crash diets and fad diets will only slow down your metabolism and not speed up your weight loss.
Before starting any weight loss regime, consider your body type and your lifestyle first.
Talk to a doctor first to find out if your weight gain is hereditary, and if you have any medical conditions.
Physical activity helps if you suffer from anxiety, depression, and other mental ailments.
Diet Vs. Exercise – The 80/20 Rule
Tumblr media
The 80/20 rule is all about putting in 20% effort and getting 80% results. In easier terms, less effort, more results. In weight loss too, you can apply this principle – but in a somewhat different manner.
For weight loss, fitness gurus and nutritionists agree that 80% of your effort should come from diet and 20% from exercise. That means you have to be more careful about what you eat, how much you eat, and when you eat.
This holds true as a majority of us tend to overestimate the energy expenditure and underestimate the calories consumed. That’s because the amount of calories you need to stay alive is varied than what your friend would need. The energy you consume through exercise will also vary even if you both do the same exercise, at the same intensity, for the same duration. Diet is a primary determinant of whether you will lose the flab or your friend will.
So, adhere to your diet even if it’s weekend or you are going out on a lunch date.
Role of Exercise
You will lose weight by going on an accurately controlled diet. But you will also lose muscle mass. And when you lose muscle mass, your metabolic rate decreases. That’s because your muscles are present where a large number of mitochondria are available. Mitochondria are cell organelles that support the conversion of glucose to ATP or energy.
When the muscle in your body reduces, the number of mitochondria will also decrease. As a result, your metabolism will decrease. To counter this, you need to exercise. In fact, a mix of all workouts is the best. Three days of strength training and 2-3 days of cardio is what you should ideally strive for.
Cutting Calories Or Increasing Exercise: Does It Vary With Age?
Yes, it does vary. Muscle loss hits in post 30. If you are someone over 30, your preference should be preventing muscle loss and building some lean muscle mass.
You can do different forms of exercises at the gym using weights or just your body weight. Keep it engaging, and you will be able to limit muscle loss and look toned. However, you should talk to your doctor first and you must not perform exercises that will harm your bone health and pose a risk to your life.
You have to be extra careful about the sugar and salt intake. With age, a lot of health problems like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular problems start to appear. And a big part of guarding yourself against these possibly life-threatening diseases is controlling what you consume.
Why is Diet So Important?
Diet is very crucial when it comes to weight loss because the effect of exercise is canceled out when you don’t take care of what you eat. To lose 1 pound of fat in a week, you must cut back or burn 3500 calories which are roughly 500 calories per day. That means you would have to run at 8 mph for at least 45 minutes or 55 minutes of Zumba without stopping.
You might think it’s OKAY to eat two slices of pizza in the middle of the week and then go to the gym and burn the calories. But to burn two slices of pizza (~560 calories), you would have to do 65 minutes of moderate cycling or 60 minutes of intense Zumba without stopping. That’s crazy and might be dangerous too.
So, every time you think of walking away from your weight loss diet, consider if it would be really worth it. Yes, you should let go sometimes but choose healthier foods for enjoying a cheat meal.
The Verdict
Who Wins – Exercise Or Diet?
Diet is the winner. Diet alone is equal to the three pillars of weight loss, and exercise is equivalent to one. So, if you do not keep a track of your diet, no matter how many hours you spend at the gym, you will not lose weight. Also, you cannot maintain weight loss or your health without exercise. Exercising on a regular basis can also help improve your mental health and a few chronic conditions over time.
To conclude, the weight loss journey is a herky-jerky ride. It will take a look at your possession to remain place and come through your goal. But it’s worth following the 80/20 rule and enhancing your overall lifestyle. The end result – you will feel better and be more active and productive, and your mental health will improve. So, keep the four pillars of weight loss paired together, and you will not have to go on a fad or crash diet to lose weight.

How 42 Year Old Mom Flattened 20 Pounds of Belly Fat During Locked Down
Tumblr media
The average U.S. waist circumference has also grown to an average 38.8 inches, up more than 1 inch in about a dozen years.
It’s more than a fashion crisis.
Belly fat, or visceral fat, is the most dangerous type of fat there is.
This deadly fat wraps around the organs deep in your abdomen, spiking your risk for diabetes, heart disease, stroke and metabolic syndrome.
You can’t see or pinch visceral fat, and it’s often associated with a large waist.
Ditch it and you’ll not only save your health, you’ll also lose weight and trim your waistline.
The good news is you can start blasting both types of fat today with these 10 healthy habits:
>>THIS Super simple trick that helped me burn at least 2 pounds a day while having milkshake and custard doughnuts for breakfast <<
Ditch Diet Soda
How bad can your calorie-free Diet Coke habit be for your belly?
Belt-bustingly bad, researchers say.
A study in the journal Diabetes Pro found that people who drank two or more diet sodas a day had waist-size increases that were six times greater than non-drinkers.
Diet drinks are loaded with deceptively sweet artificial sweeteners, which, researchers say, trick the metabolism into thinking sugar is on its way, spike insulin levels, and shift the body from a fat-burning to a fat-storing state.
Eat Three Squares
For years, diet experts beat the “multiple small meals a day” drum—an eating rhythm purported to “stoke the metabolic fire!”
Now, some researchers are singing a different tune. A study published in the journal Hepatology found that snacking between meals contributes to increased abdominal fat.
Researchers say the findings suggest three balanced meals may be the way to go. Try weaning yourself off the snack wagon by nixing your morning nibble first.
Research suggests mid-morning snackers tend to consume more throughout the day than afternoon snackers.
 Eat More Walnuts
Dietary fats are kind of like lovers.
Some of them make you a better person, and others—as you often discover too late—are catastrophically bad for your health.
The good news is, unlike shoddy boyfriends, dietary fats come with red flags.
The absolutely worst match for your apple-shaped figure? Saturated fats.
A study published in the journal Diabetes found that while unsaturated fat can help reduce abdominal fat, saturated fat can increase waist size.
Saturated fats, like the kind you’ll find in baked goods and red meat, “turn on” certain genes that increase the storage of fat in the belly, researchers say.
Polyunsaturated fats on the other hand, activate genes that reduce fat storage and improve insulin metabolism.
At about 13 grams per one ounce serving, walnuts are one of the best dietary sources. Sprinkle a handful on your morning oats or entree salad for belly-busting benefits.
Skip The Bootcamp
Open any fitness magazine, and it’s clear: high intensity interval training (HIIT) is having a bit of a moment.
But when it comes to your shrinking your belly, the start-and-stop exercise strategy won’t get you anywhere … other than into a larger pair of pants, researchers say.
A study published in the Journal of Obesity found people who performed interval training on an exercise bike for 24 minutes three days a week, actually gained 0.7 percent abdominal fat over a 12-week period.
Meanwhile, those on the same dietician-regulated diet, who performed traditional aerobic exercise—45 minutes of continuous moderate cycling three days a week—lost nearly 3 percent of their abdominal fat over the same 3-month period.
The study authors did note that HIIT improved fitness, but suggest that the only evidence to support interval training as an efficient weight loss method was research using young people who were already lean and healthy.
Remember: Workouts are only half of the equation; abs are made in the kitchen as they say.
 Eat the magical beans, Jack
There are diet pills on the market that actually work. They’re called beans.
Researchers suggest beans, as they’re particularly rich in soluble fiber, can lessen the accumulation of abdominal fat deposits.
A study by researchers at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center found that for every 10-gram increase in soluble fiber eaten per day, visceral fat reduced by 3.7 percent over five years.
Fill up, without filling out, with just 1/2 a cup of beans.
If the musical fruits tend to leave you bloated, stick to canned varieties that have soaked long enough to break down much of the gas-causing oligosaccharides.
 Swap coffee for green tea
Green tea and weight loss are a natural pair.
Sipping on green tea throughout the morning has proven to whittle your waist, but too much coffee has the opposite effect.
What makes green tea so waist friendly are compounds called catechins, belly-fat crusaders that blast adipose tissue by revving the metabolism, increasing the release of fat from fat cells (particularly in the belly), and then speeding up the liver’s fat burning capacity.
In a recent study, participants who combined a daily habit of 4-5 cups of green tea with a 25-minute sweat session (or 180 minutes a week), lost 2 more pounds than the non tea-drinking exercisers.
Meanwhile, a research team in Washington found that the same amount of coffee (5+ cups/day) doubled visceral belly fat.
Be Unrefined
It’s not carbs, per se, that lead to belly fat; but the type, researchers say. In fact, whole grains are a dietary staple of people with the littlest middles.
A Tufts University study found that participants who ate three or more servings of whole grains per day (oats, quinoa, brown rice, wheat) had 10% less belly fat than people who ate the same amount of calories from refined carbs (white stuff: bread, rice, pasta).
Further research is required to figure out exactly why this is the case, but the hypothesis is it has to do with the high fiber and slow-burn properties of whole grains.
When it comes to diet, being unrefined is a good thing!
Sprinkle Pepper Everywhere
Meet Piperine, the fat blasting ninja!
A powerful compound found in black pepper, piperine has been used for centuries in Eastern medicine to treat multiple health conditions including inflammation and tummy troubles.
But recent animal studies have found that piperine may also have the profound ability to decrease inflammation and interfere with the formation of new fat cells—a reaction known as adipogenesis, resulting in a decrease in waist size, body fat, and cholesterol levels.
More pepper, please!
Use coconut oil for cooking
What smells like an exotic vacation and can shrink your waist faster than your favorite Zumba class?
You got it: coconut oil.
A study of 30 men in the journal Pharmacology found that just 2 tablespoons per day reduced waist circumference by an average of 1.1 inches over the course of a month.
What makes coconut oil superior to other fats is its medium chain triglycerides. Unlike the long-chain fatty acids found in animal sources of saturated fat, coconut oil doesn’t seem to raise your cholesterol and is more likely to be burned as energy than stored as blubber.
At roughly 117 calories per tablespoon, it’s a near identical caloric swap for olive oil. Plus, its high smoke point makes coconut oil great for just about every dish, from eggs to stir-frys.
 Indulge in Dark Chocolate
It’s every chocoholic’s dream: Research now shows that eating moderate amounts of dark chocolate can reduce overall body fat and shrink the waist.
A study among women with normal weight obesity (skinny fat syndrome) who ate a Mediterranean diet that included two servings of dark chocolate each day showed a significant reduction in waist size than when on a cocoa-free meal plan.
Researchers say it has to do with the flavonoids, heart-healthy compounds in chocolate that have important antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Just be sure you’re reaching for a bar with at least 70 percent cacao, and stay away from the “alkalized” stuff, which has a significantly reduced flavonoid content.
One last thing… you should try this super simple ritual that burns 2 pounds of belly fat per day…
“All this by your something-something ritual?” I asked.
I met an old friend for lunch last year and I was super impressed with how she lost 72 pounds in 3 months.
She said, “It’s not so much about the the so called ritual but more about how it releases fat-blasting molecules that signal your brain and body to burn off pounds and inches of trapped fat quickly and naturally.”
Even though I was skeptical, I’ve been struggling with my weight over the last few years, so I gave it a shot and watched the same video she did.
Well, it’s only a couple weeks later and you know what they say about how “you can’t transform your body overnight”…
They’re right — it actually took me 14 days to lose 20 pounds.
Now it’s my girlfriends asking ME what I’M doing differently
Imagine your body being beach ready before Memorial Day.
Imagine enjoying the foods you love: pasta, wine, or even a dessert — completely guilt-free.
And imagine feeling good and living your life without obsessing about every single calorie you eat…
All while knowing your health is being protected by one of the most powerful natural healing rituals ever discovered.

Thoughts on Hump Day
I’m considering tossing out my scale.  It’s a liar and never says anything nice to me.  This morning I stepped on, saw the number, and yelled “FAKE NEWS!”  Just kidding, I’m really not much of a scale queen,I only step on about once a month, but they are truly the work of the devil.  I’m going with that “have nothing in your home that doesn’t bring you joy” mantra, and it doesn’t.  It’s usually best to acknowledge how you feel (healthy? bloated? Clothing loose or tight?) rather than obsess about a  number anyway.  We all know that weight can bounce around a few pounds in a week depending on everything from hormones to sodium intake.  Right now I’m somewhere in the doing well but could be better category.  I’ll explain.
Perhaps you’ve heard a time or two on this lil’ blog that I had my stanky ankle turned into a bionic one.  That was several months ago.  The very talented doctor that performed my surgery was also the person who most definitely soft peddled the recovery process.  From the cast to the boot, from a knee scooter to one crutch, all of the physical therapy and lifestyle adjustments would have been far more bearable if I’d been better informed.  He made it sound like I’d be running marathons two weeks after surgery, instead I spent a winter sitting a lot more than I’m used to sitting.  At every check up and at every PT appointment they’d assure me that my recovery was “textbook” and that I was right on track, while I felt like I’d never walk freely again.  I found out (and so did Mickey) that I’m not a good patient.  With my husband and children I have had nearly unlimited patience, with myself...not so much.   So while I was sitting, my dear husband was trying to make me happy by throwing medicinal canoli and therapy pizza at me.  I was a grateful recipient.  My bum liked it so much that it kept it.  Fast forward to spring and I began walking less like Frankenstein and I was itching to get back to my daily three miles and maybe even track down a new Zumba class.  The mister, fearing that I’d go out on a trek and not be able to get back, invested in a treadmill.  We put it in the garage along with a large box fan and we both love it and use it daily. I’ve been trying to get up to speed, so far I’m only walking at 2.8 mph - slower than I used to go, but good enough for now.  I play my tunes and lose myself in my thoughts.  After a good walk I do some crunches and other exercises. I used part of a Mother’s Day gift card to purchase cushy, snap-together gym flooring and it’s wonderful.  Based on what I’ve been doing I should be thin and fast, but the scale and his evil friend, the mirror, keep telling me that I’m chubby and slow.   Our diet is quite clean - and now that summer is here, even cleaner.  I can’t remember the last time I ate anything high in fat, carbs, calories, or fun.  I don’t bake at all anymore. Sometimes I open the cupboard and stare at my cupcake decorating supplies and sigh.  It won’t be long before I’m just Euell Gibbons, staring into a bowl of Grape Nuts.   Also, I’m at the age where Grape Nuts sound kind of good, so there’s that. Last night I went out to the garage after dinner (fish tacos) to get on the treadmill.  I’d been a little hot and flashy all day, so I just took my shirt off and walked in a sports bra and yoga pants - the joys of a private workout.  That’s when I started thinking about my clumsiness.  When I came back in the house I made Mickey promise that if I ever fell and knocked myself out on the treadmill that he’d wrestle me back into a shirt before calling for help.   The sight of me in a sports bra and yoga pants is his nightmare to deal with, no need to traumatize others.   So that’s where I am at the end of May - trying to walk off the winter of my discontent, in an abusive relationship with the scale, and oddly enough, still really, really happy.  Remember ladies, numbers do not define us. Not our age, not our weight, nor any other number that measures something unimportant.  Instead, we should worry about how many times we laugh each day, how many new things have we learned?  How many people did we make smile, how much love did we spread? On a scale of 1 to 10, how much good did you put into the world today?  Those are numbers that matter, those are the things you want to be remembered for - not your pant size.  I’d feel this way at a size 6 or 16.   I’m almost 55, I don’t take any meds, and I have a big booty.  I’m happy and healthy. Everything else is gravy.
 Mmmmm, gravy.

James Dean- The Rebel With a Cause
In the past few years, Taylor Swift has become a well-recognized singer who appeals to young girls and teenagers. All six of her albums have had hit songs and one of her most recent albums, 1989, stayed the number one hit album for a record amount of time. That album happened to include Style, a song written about Harry Styles and their time together. The song used catchy lyrics, had a nice beat to it, and the words happened to stick in my head. In it, she compares Harry Styles to James Dean by making the reference, “you’ve got that James Dean daydream look in your eyes” (Swift 2014). Not many people can say that they have a look named after them, but James Dean can. As much as I don’t like to admit it, I didn’t really know who James Dean was until I heard Swift’s song. After listening to Style I was curious on who James Dean was and proceeded to research him. I found out that he was an actor in the fifties prior to his tragic death at the age of twenty-four. I don’t know if I could pinpoint what exactly it is that draws me in towards James Dean, but he certainly interests me and I hope to figure out why. Even though he died at a young age, James Dean is considered “a Cool original,” to many people, like Pountain and Robins, the authors of Cool Rules: Anatomy of an Attitude (70). Not only has he had songs written about him, like James Dean by the Eagles, but people, like James Franco, have styled themselves after him. Having managed to become an iconic actor after starring in only three movies, Dean’s level of influence is unprecedented. Something I have noticed about James Dean is that there is not just one thing that draws my attention towards him. Not only was he attractive, but he was also a rebel both on the screen and in real life. As sad as it is to admit it, I have not met a rebel and am starting to think that I haven’t met any rebels and cool people because the first thing they tend to do is drop out of school and I have been in school all of my life. Something that is essential to cool is dropping out of school, which Gwendolyn Brooks argued for in her poem, We Real Cool, by writing “we real cool. We left school” (1). It’s a known fact that cool people tend to drop out of school; just look at Rihanna, Charles Dickens, and Elton John. They chose to abandon the education system to pursue their passions. And let’s not forget that Marlon Brando was expelled for riding a motorcycle down his school’s hallway. The bottom line is that cool people do not stay in school. Whether they leave voluntarily or not, they are still leaving and that is what matters. So it is no surprise that in 1951, James Dean dropped out of the University of California, Los Angeles to pursue acting. That was a cool move on his behalf, and his acting career skyrocketed afterwards. If I were given the option to drop out, I don’t think I would take it. To me the surest path to success is by attending and graduating college. Sure I could drop out and become the next Steve Jobs or James Dean, but the odds of that happening are low. While this may not be the coolest move on my behalf, I am going to fully commit to school, not just cruise on by. I am going to take a rigorous course load, actually learn what is being taught and not just memorize information for tests, and I am going to be proud of graduating from college. School isn’t for everyone, that’s why people leave it when the opportunity arises, but others stay in school and that’s fine too. Despite what Brooks argued, I don’t necessarily think school is uncool. I think it has more to do with the amount of effort people put to their education. If one don’t want to put in the work, then he should drop out. But if he stays in the system, he should really commit to it and take control of his learning. After all, control plays an integral role in cool and if people have control over their education, then to me that makes it cool. As aforementioned, James Dean starred in three movies prior to his death- Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden, and Giant. In Rebel Without a Cause, Dean took on the role of a high schooler named Jim Stark who recently moved to a new town and didn’t really start off on the right foot there. In fact, the film began with him passed out in the middle of a street where police officers found him and took him to the station (Ray 1955). If that doesn’t scream rebel, then I don’t know what does. James Dean perfected the role of being a rebel in Rebel Without a Cause. The title of the movie clearly speaks for itself and James Dean set the path for teenage rebels of future generations to come. James Dean was known for being one of the first teenagers in America. In the past, people were either boy or man, girl or woman. But, Dean managed to create this in-between space that didn’t really exist before. Of course people still went through the ages of thirteen to nineteen, but they took on more of an adult role. For instance, when my grandparents were nineteen, they were already married and my grandfather started a construction company. But at nineteen, James Dean was attending UCLA trying to figure out what he would do with his life, kind of like what I am currently doing. Right now, I am at UM trying to figure out what I want to major in, if I want to transfer universities, and what I want to do with my life. These are all major decisions to make in today’s world, but this was uncommon in the past. Teens prior to Dean, and myself, did not have that privilege, they had more responsibilities and had to take care of themselves and sometimes their families. Thus, James Dean created the American teenager. Something worth noting is that Dean didn’t only create the American teenager, he also created the rebel. While some people thought this teenage rebellion was a ploy for attention, and a phase angsty kids go through, others sympathized with Dean and saw him as “a rebel with a cause, and that cause was escape from the suffocating web of family ties, school, suburban respectability and labour discipline that the new ‘mass society’ imposed” (Pountain and Robins 70). In other words, he was rebelling against things I am drawn towards. Just because Dean got to live the life of a teenager doesn’t mean his life was easy. In fact, he was mostly raised by his aunt and uncle after his mother passed away when he was nine. The death of a parent deeply affects and influences a child and I’m sure Dean was no exception, perhaps this is where his fascination with the macabre came from. Also, let’s not forget that while he was living with his aunt and uncle, Dean was molested by Reverend James DeWeerd (“James Dean Biography”). This is another area where Dean and I differ. The most difficult thing I have had to deal with was my parents getting a divorce. Perhaps this was the event that triggered Dean to have sexual encounters with many people, like Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe, Steve McQueen, and Pier Angeli, or perhaps that abuse was part of what added to his broody, mysterious, and rebellious aura. Something I find it ironic is that James Dean wasn’t an advocate for teenage rebellion even though he symbolized it. In fact, he advocated for teens to do the opposite and follow the rules. For instance, during an interview with a sheriff Dean was asked how he felt about teenagers speeding. He responded by saying people shouldn’t drive fast because it’s not safe and is dangerous. But he seemed to be a into hypocrisy considering he died speeding in a Porsche. So, while Dean might not have verbally encouraged this kind of teenage rebellion, his actions made him the epitome of it. To me, this is uncool. His actions and words contradicted each other. I hate it when people, like my grandfather, tell me, “do as I say, not as I do.” If I am supposed to act in the way someone is telling me to, but they don’t act that way, then why should I? Perhaps that was why teens didn’t heed Dean’s advice on driving the speed limit. Maybe they figured that if he wouldn’t take his own advice, then why should we? In this instance, I think they were cooler than he was. I’m also fascinated that James Dean’s motto seemed to be “live fast, die young, [and] leave a good looking corpse,” which he did all of the above (“James Dean Quotes”). He was constantly involved in risky activities, like smoking, speeding, and racing, died at a young age, and was quite handsome at that time. It makes me wonder if his mindset made it inevitable that he would die young. If he didn’t die on September 30th, would he have died the next day, month, or year? Once again I don’t have an answer to this, no one does, but when one involve himself in activities like he did, death is a factor that needs to be acknowledged. Something cool that I think James Dean did was that he seemed to acknowledge the fact that life is about balancing living and dying. He, like many cool people, flirted with death. He acknowledged the fact that at some point he will die and there is no in acting like immortality is a thing. My father once told me there are two things you have do in life, pay taxes and die. So when you acknowledge death, you can dance and flirt with it by pushing the boundaries of living that border death. James Dean’s favorite way to flirt with death was by driving fast cars and breaking speed limits. This is portrayed in the Eagles song, James Dean, in which they wrote “along came a Spyder and picked up a rider” (Eagles). James Dean wasn’t nicknamed ‘One Speed Dean’ for no reason. His one speed was fast and that ended up costing him his life. He even received a speeding ticket hours before his death, but that didn’t slow him down. So sometimes flirting with death, means that death wins, but eventually everyone will die. It is an inevitable truth humans cannot escape. No matter how hard one tries, he cannot outrun death, even I am guilty of trying to avoid death. I go to Zumba classes and eat kale and quinoa salads somehow thinking that this will increase my chances of outrunning death, even though I know that’s impossible. This is uncool on my behalf seeing as humans cannot control when they die. But sometimes the unexpected happens and death comes earlier than expected. James Dean was no exception to this. In fact, Pountain and Robins argue that Dean’s “untimely death in a car crash sealed his status as Cool’s first martyr” (70). As aforementioned, James Dean died at the age of twenty-four. This makes me wonder, do we regard him as highly as we do because he died so young? James Dean only starred in three movies before he died. That isn’t a lot to base a movie career on. Think about it, Robert Redford and Clint Eastwood have both starred in over forty-five movies each. That shows that they are both actors have strong acting skills that make them sought after to star in movies, but James Dean doesn’t have that kind of track record, per se. The three movies he starred in, he received praise for, but if he didn’t crash his Porsche on September 30, 1955, would his career have continued to carry on the upward trend it was on or would it have plateaued or even plummeted? While no one knows the answer to this question, it is interesting to think about. Also, James Dean would’ve not only continued to act if he didn’t die, but he also would’ve continued to age. It would be interesting to see what he would’ve looked like as he grew older. I think one of the reasons people, like Pountain and Robins, regard James Dean as “a Cool original,” is because he was and is so attractive (70). Thanks to photography becoming more widespread in the twentieth century, James Dean was captured on film quite frequently, which wasn’t common in the past. These photos show what James Dean represents and why he is considered attractive to many people, including myself. In one of his many pictures, Dean is shown reading a large book, The Complete Poetical Works by James Whitcomb Riley, at a kitchen table while smoking at the same time (Farr). Not only is smoking an act of rebellion, but it is also wildly attractive, especially when caught on camera. The way Dean is holding the cigarette in his hand is almost as if he is dangling it between two fingers (Farr). In fact, he doesn’t really have a grip on it. He manages to hold the cigarette in a nonchalant and subtle way that if one were to glimpse at the picture, he might overlook it. Not only is the cigarette an attractive aspect of the picture, but the glasses he is wearing and the book he is holding are as well. As stereotypical as it may be, when I see someone reading a book, I think they are intellectual and that makes them attractive. And the round eyeglasses Dean is wearing give him a touch of geek chic. Something that is cool about James Dean in this photo is the fact that he isn’t smiling at the camera like most people do. In fact, he isn’t even looking at the camera- he’s reading his book (Farr). That’s a cool move, he’s not being cheesy and smiling like most people, including myself, would do. James Dean’s pose is not the only attractive part of him in the picture. He himself is attractive. He’s both young and handsome, and that essence is captured in this photo, like all James Dean photos considering he did not live past the age of twenty-four. Not only was his face wrinkle free, but his hair was still on his head and he was sporting the messy bed head (Farr). His hair wasn’t neat and gelled back, it was messy and unkempt, standing up in different directions, and yet he still looked attractive, maybe even more so. I think this James Dean is attractive in this picture because he managed to do so in an effortless way. But, I don’t think I would see him as attractive as I do if he lived to grow older seeing as some people do not age well. Another thing worth noting is that Dean lived and acted in the mid-fifties, which was roughly seventy-two years ago. A lot of things have happened in those seventy-two years. People have walked the moon, started carrying phones on them, and constantly use the Internet which was nonexistent in 1955. Society has changed drastically and while people, like myself, may not want to admit it, it affects who they are. If James Dean was born sixty years later than he was, I’m sure he would still be a rebel today, but it would be interesting to see society’s effect on him.

Train Your Brain: 6 Mindful Activities for Seniors
Tumblr media
Staying In The Game As we age, it’s crucial to keep our minds stimulated and in proper working order. And one of the absolute best ways to train your brain is to incorporate a few mindful activities into our everyday lifestyle. If you’re unfamiliar with the word mindfulness and don’t quite grasp what it means, here’s a breakdown: Mindfulness is a primary mental state where one focuses on being present and “in the moment.” The good news is that you can be mindful and in the moment through a variety of activities! Whether you find a new creative outlet or begin meditation, there are countless ways you can train your brain to be more focused. To train and engage your brain, here are six mindful activities for seniors to keep themselves at the top of their game. Start Meditation According to neuropsychologist Jean Lengenfelder, meditation can enhance short-term and long-term memory. And while meditation can indeed center and ground anyone who practices, it has incredible benefits for older adults, too. Meditation has been proven to preserve cognitive function in older folks and seniors who are beginning to struggle with memory and cognition. According to a 2014 review of a dozen studies involving seniors and older adults, meditation has also been linked with positive effects on executive function, processing speed and general cognition. It even staves off Alzheimer’s and reduces loneliness. And meditation can be practiced just about anywhere. In fact, it’s perfect for older adults and seniors with mobility issues. It’s also quite easy to follow along with guided instructors through YouTube or even apps on your phone. The main thing to remember about meditation is that your mind will always wander. And that’s okay. In fact, that’s the point. The goal of meditation is to simply check in on yourself, by whatever technique you prefer. Some of these meditation techniques include a body scan, where you mentally run through your body in search of tension and then release your tight muscles. Another meditation technique that’s perfect for novice meditators is breath awareness, where you practice and focus on slow and deep breathing, which improves concentration and reduces anxiety. Tend a Garden Gardens offer a wonderful mindful activity for seniors. It brings a certain level of satisfaction by tending to crops and growing produce, especially those you can enjoy with dinner later. Plus, gardening not only relieves stress, but also improves cognitive abilities and provides mild, low-impact exercise. Even if it’s not a personal garden in your own backyard or a container garden on a porch, you can seek out community gardens. Getting involved with your local community is also a great way to be involved and sociable. This also invites you to engage with fellow neighbors and meet new people for more social interactions, too. Become a Volunteer Especially for seniors who are officially retired, volunteering is a fantastic way to train your brain and stay active. You can volunteer as a guide showing guests around art and history museums, or you can volunteer as an usher, checking tickets and showing people to their seats at theater and concert venues. Plus, you’ll be able to see new exhibits or watch the shows for free! You’ll also get to engage with interesting people and hear new music, which stimulates your brain. Pick Up a Creative Activity While there are several ways seniors can get creative, art offers a much more relaxing mindfulness because it is an activity that seniors can do in the comfort of their own home. Art activities are practically endless! From classic knitting to sculpting pottery to newfangled diamond painting, seniors can find anything that suits their personality and capabilities. In fact, like puzzles and coloring books, diamond art is a fantastic activity to train the brain. It can even be considered a form of mindfulness-based art therapy (MBAT). Having a creative outlet not only offers stress relief and self-expression, but it also fine-tunes cognitive function and hand-eye coordination. It makes you more agile and skillful at everyday tasks. Plus, creative outlets improve concentration and focusing abilities. Engage with Music Engaging with music or attending concerts is another amazing mindful activity. As previously mentioned, you can volunteer at music venues or, alternatively, you can simply grab a pair of headphones and tune in to your favorite classical symphonies. You can also immerse yourself in a singing group or local choir to train your brain to read sheet music. Taking dance lessons is another way to engage with music, while also getting some low-impact exercises. Sign up alone or with a friend and learn line-dancing or even Zumba. Besides learning a few sweet dance moves, you can also try to learn a new instrument. Some fun and easy instruments are ukuleles, harmonicas and keyboards, which you can learn by watching online instructional videos on YouTube. Read and Write Reading and writing both offer mindful activities that seniors can enjoy. They’re also perfect for seniors with limited mobility or who are uninterested in physical activities. Join a book club to discuss story themes and topics with other members, making friends as well. For those who prefer a more creative outlet, writing is also an excellent activity to practice mindfulness. It can simply be a daily journal where you keep thoughts organized, jot down goals or reflect on events. Besides writing in a more personal journal, you can also try creative writing, exploring different genres, such as cozy mysteries. The point of writing is to improve mental agility and boost your memory. Whatever mindful activity or practice you choose, make sure it’s one you enjoy. That way, you’ll be excited to return to it again and again to appreciate being in the moment. Set a schedule and set a daily or weekly reminder to ensure to train your brain to stay focused, alert and in tune with yourself, physically, mentally and emotionally. And remember to stay young at heart! If seeking help.   Read the full article

7 Crucial weight loss Secrets tips for women over 40 and keep your figure svelte well into your 50’s
Tumblr media
Read on to find out about those crucial weight loss tips for women over 40 and keep your figure svelte well into your 50’s (plus). 1. Cut The Carbs
If you love your jacket potatoes, white rice, bread and pasta, they might be part of the reason why you’ve put on weight, particularly if your metabolism has slowed. As soon as you cut out carbs, your kidneys get rid of excess water and you lose weight very quickly, sometimes up to half a stone in a couple of weeks. Instead of burning carbs, your body begins to burn fat as its energy source. As a word of caution, on a low-carb diet, the weight loss will slow down as your body adjusts but it is still an excellent way of losing weight. Check out the Keto diet if you want to focus on a specific low-carb diet. 2. Take That Exercise!
You might not want to hear it but if you don’t exercise (or you only do the bare minimum) now is the time to start. Not only for weight-loss, but exercise is also vital to keep your joints moving and safeguard your overall health and wellbeing. It also improves muscle tone so if you’ve noticed some flabbiness creeping up as well as the weight, exercise will help to tone up your body. Exercise speeds up a flagging metabolism so it’s really important to factor it in every day when you’re over 40. There’s lots of exercise choice too. You could take up power walking, it’s gentler on the knees than jogging, or you could join a local class and try something new like spinning or Zumba? Swimming is an excellent all-over body workout. If you just cannot face exercise, stop taking the lift or escalator and start walking more. Walking is good for you and if you’ve never taken any exercise before, just adding a 20-minute walk a day will help to keep off that monthly half a pound weight gain! 3. Eat Dinner Earlier
Your body needs time to digest food. If you tend to eat a big meal late in the evening, you run the risk of it lying on your tummy, interrupting your sleep and piling on extra pounds because the food hasn’t digested properly. Try and eat no later than 7 pm so you have a few hours to work off your food before you go to bed. Don’t eat heavy meals at night either. There’s a saying, breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and eat dinner like a pauper and there’s a lot of truth in it! Keep your dinner light, a lean piece of meat or oily fish, a healthy salad or vegetables as accompaniment and fresh fruit for dessert. Save bigger meals for earlier in the day. 4. Lift Weights
Yes, it’s another exercise but lifting weight really helps you to get lean! It’s proven by various studies particularly this one carried out in 2017 at Wake Forest University. It shows that by weight training (and eating healthily) people lose more fat and less muscle than just performing a cardio exercise. Start with small dumbbells and low repetitions; slowly build up the reps and weights until you can manage larger weights including using kettlebells and bigger weight machinery at the gym. 5. Have Eggs For Breakfast
Firstly, never skip breakfast. Your body, like a car, needs fuel to run efficiently. If it runs on empty it won’t perform properly and neither will it kick-start your metabolism. You might think that skipping breakfast will help you to lose weight but actually instead, it slows down your metabolism further and makes you more likely to snack mid-morning. The best breakfast is eggs and that’s because they are filling and low calorie. There have been various studies to prove just how well eggs work for weight-loss too. This study shows us how those who ate eggs for breakfast experienced a 34% greater reduction in their waist measurement than those who ate something else of the same amount of calories. 6. Drink Water Some excess weight is simply fluid build-up. To get rid of excess fluid, you need to drink water. It’s best to drink at least 2 liters a day to flush your system of toxins and impurities and help reduce bloating. If you drink a glass of water before a meal, you should end up eating less as the water fills you up. In fact, if you ever feel a hunger pang strike, rather than reaching for the first calorific snack you can get your hands on, just have a glass of water, it often staves off hunger for longer – especially if you know you’re close to your next main meal. 7. Load Up On Apples
Not only are apples delicious, but they’re also part of your 5-a-day and they’re a great snack that quickly targets hunger pangs.
There’s more too, research tells us that eating 3 apples a day could increase your weight loss. This study compared two groups of overweight women over a set period of time. One group, the fruit group ate three apples a day as part of their snacking routine and the other group, known as the oat group, focussed their snacking on oats. The results showed that the fruit group lost more weight than the other group.

I need my breakfast 🍳. I weighed in Saturday and I lost about a pound. I hand Laura’s card to Mark Consuelo who is the nearest and most approachable trainer available to me from the scale. I stopped because my hand brushed to his. That’s bad. I didn’t have stress panic attack in my heart ❤️ because I just got out of yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️ . I was all zen, controlled bubbly and soft voiced. He’s going to see my STATs 📊, I should freak out 😰. I’ll get over it. I just said hi 👋🏾 to him coming from my muscle recovery sesh. I almost drop my glass bottle 😱.
Tumblr media
I had a good day Saturday. It left me tired 😓 and sore Sunday.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I woke up early and have been playing with my phone 📲. My Dad says I spend to much time on it. I showed him my screen time.
Tumblr media
I was thinking 🤔 I’ll be glued to technology before I show up for Saturday 60 Day Challenge. I saw Jacqy. I complimented her at how cute her pants 👖 were. She told me she was going to Barbell 🏋🏼‍♀️ and it just reminded me, I had planned on Cardio Kick Boxing. I was telling stories to my Dad in our car 🚘 ride. I told him how I looked like a wuss in the class. Everybody looks tough, quick, great form, “haaa.” I was bright, easy target and slow response and without a snap.” I told myself, “Perhaps getting a glove can make me feel more kick 🦵🏾 butt.” I had to wear glasses 🤓 because my new pair of contacts got make up. It was so hazy 🌫 as if with a protein build up. Maybe I should consider an eye drop. I am definitely ordering one time use pairs. My Mom isn’t paying for discount. Also, I have gave her a status of my supplies. I told her I must have something fitted by July 📆 latest. Sparky ⚡️ 🐈 is emerging from under my bed. Jamesy too 😦. All my cats are BFFs. I love ❤️ it. I did horribly Saturday on assessment but it’s alright. I am aware that some days you do better. I met friends particularly one from my Dad’s childhood community. Apparently her bro works with my Dad and my Dad dropped by her house 🏡 a while back. Her bro is friends with my Aunt Christina. She is friends with my Aunt Marites.

I was feeling muscle exhausted particularly at my lower body after my elliptical. I was tired 😓 Zumba 💃🏼. I have to try one of the machines behind the one I used. I also waved to a guy who I don’t know. He was particularly amused with me. I knocked down my glass bottle he laughed. He was behind me working out. After he passed my front and he was giggling. He had some form of handicap. I am not scared 😱. I am not embarrassed 😞. He’s a person. He had a right with his good conduct to be there like everyone else. He wasn’t bothersome and harmful. I enjoyed 😊 my quiet lunch 🍴.
Tumblr media
I was taking my time only to find out that I just got to the studio to start the class 🤦🏼‍♀️. I thought 💭 at the end and told the instructor that it felt short 🤔. Let me count in my head the number of poses we did 🙆🏼‍♀️. Eight poses. Multiply that by 5 minutes plus the meditation in the opening. That’s about 60 minutes. I saw her in the women’s locker room and told her that probably it was because I came in a jiffy I had no time to relax 😌 . My sense of time, speed of cognition and mental alertness was not altered. I forgot that without contact lenses it’s difficult to without ability to put on eye 👁 color. I should get lipsticks 💄 no.

For both Steroline and Bamon - Who would: Ask the other to live together, make the other a striptease dance, ask the other to dance without music, choose costumes on halloween, the one who always wins the argumemts, who wakes up crancky in the middle of the night, makes the other one exercise, who would sing for the other, who texts the other one first when they miss them
LMAO these are going to be so hard for me, you have no idea. Okay:
Ask the other to live together?
Bamon - Damon. Bonnie would probably be bitching about having to renew her lease and her rent going up and Damon would be like ‘then don’t renew it’. All her stuff’s there anyway since he lives closer to the hospital, and she’s obsessed with his ridiculously expensive bed (that she used to make tons of fun of until it became her new favorite thing). Plus, his modern, fancy bachelor pad feels warmer with all her books and sweaters and fluffy slippers lying around, and as much as he complains, it’s never felt more like home than it does now that there are flares of her all over it. And most importantly, he has the Keurig machine.
Steroline - Caroline. Stefan’s been feeling the situation out, not wanting to push because he knows she works at her own pace and there’s nothing that can slow her down or speed her up, she just is. So when she’s looking for a new apartment that’s closer to her job, he notices she’s asking for his opinion a suspicious amount, and it isn’t until she says, ‘Will your desk fit in here, though?’ that he realizes what’s happening. And he can’t help the smile. Because that’s Caroline. She doesn’t say ‘Want to move in together?’, she says ‘Will your desk fit in here?’, and he tells her that he’ll make it fit, and she nods nonchalantly and hides a smile in her coffee mug.
Make the other a striptease dance?
Bamon - Damon. Because 1. it’s Damon, 2. he knows it’ll cheer her up, and 3. it’s Damon.
Steroline - Caroline, because Stefan can get super lost in his cases and it’s a fun challenge to snap him out of it.
Ask the other to dance without music?
Bamon - Bonnie. And she still stands on the top his bare feet like a little kid, and she still hums ‘The Notebook Song’ offkey, and she still calls him a mush ball, and he tips her in outrageous dips and falls a little more in love with her every time.
Steroline - Stefan. The apartment they end up getting has the tiniest bedroom known to humankind, but the kitchen’s big and has high ceilings and a bay window overlooking the Charles, and sometimes when they’re cleaning up after dinner, he’ll grab her hand and spin her around and pull her into him for a quiet, swaying moment. He still doesn’t ‘do dancing’, but he does it for her, and it makes her glow.
Choose costumes on Halloween?
Bamon - Both. It’s a fight to the death. The topic literally comes up in July and is a lightning rod of heated debate for months. Sabotage, blackmail, and seduction attempts are all fair game. It usually goes down to the wire.
Steroline - Caroline. And they’re always stylish and clever because she makes them herself. But sometimes she makes Stefan wear tights because hey, if they cape fits…
The one who always wins the arguments?
Bamon - Damon, usually. Not necessarily because he’s right, but because he’s a bottomless pit of frothy counterarguments and can literally debate forever and Bonnie stops caring because Naked and Afraid is on and a lot more interesting. But if it’s something that actually matters, Bonnie. Except she doesn’t argue, she declares and that’s that.
Steroline - Half-and-half. Caroline tends to get more carried away and heated in arguments and Stefan stays really patient and level-headed, so on any given day, it’s just a matter of whose stamina wins out.
Who wakes up cranky in the middle of the night?
Bamon - Damon. Shivering. To no blankets. And no pillows. Because somehow, a girl who’s almost an entire foot shorter than him takes up twice the bedding.
Steroline - Caroline, because Stefan always slips out of bed at 2 AM to work when he’s got a big case coming up, and she worries he’s not getting enough sleep.
Who makes the other one exercise?
Bamon - Both in different ways. Bonnie makes Damon go to open dance classes with her and he always ends up being the life of the party (he loves Zumba and yells ‘arriba!’ throughout the entire thing), and Damon drags Bonnie to the gym for weights (she complains the whole time and almost kills him when she gets distracted - ‘jesus, bon, you’re supposed to be spotting’ ‘I meaaaan, I spotted the froyo stand’).
Steroline - Same deal. Stefan coaxes her into morning runs through the public garden and even though she never wants to go at first, she loves when they stop at the top of the footbridge to watch the sun spill over the pond. Plus, she gets her revenge when she drags Stefan to her spin class (which he still calls ‘biking’ and still finds really stupid because you’re doing all this work and not getting anywhere).
Who would sing for the other?
Bamon - Bonnie sings freely and horribly. Full-volume Disney anthems are an evening shower staple, regardless of if Damon is in there with her, but he does occasionally manage to veer the sounds she’s making into something way less G-rated. Sometimes he just joins in, though. Their neighbors aren’t happy about either one.
Steroline - Caroline. Stefan knows a few songs on the guitar, but mostly he plays meandering, improvised melodies, and every now and then, Caroline will add lyrics. Sometimes it’s her poetry, sometimes she makes it up on the spot, but she has a pretty voice that she’s shy about and the rareness of it makes him love it even more.
Who texts the other one first when they miss them?
Bamon - Damon has exactly two modes of missing Bonnie - he gets grumpy as hell and starts complaining about literally everything (’this airport blows’/’”please secure your mask before assisting others” is such a fucked up metaphor for america’/’why is seattle so goddamn cold’/’why is everyone so happy in LA’) or he sends a long, whimsical, Shakespearean sonnet about how the world is ending.
Steroline - Caroline. And Stefan always knows it’s coming because it starts off as a checklist. (’Did you remember to bring your external hard-drive?’ ‘yep.’ ‘Did you drop the dry cleaning off before you left this morning?’ ‘yep.’ ‘Are you sure you packed the tie I picked out?’ ‘actually I swapped it for the one Damon gave me for christmas’ ‘The blue one?’ ‘the one covered in penises’ ‘I miss you.’)
This legit took me like 45 minutes to answer what are priorities.

Judge and Jury
Tumblr media
Pardon my absence, it feels like life has been moving at such a fast pace that I haven’t even had a second to sit down and write even though there is so much happening around me that I could leave me writing for days, but I am in one of those Wife, Mom, Boss kinda moods lately where I think I can juggle the world – when in reality the balls are flying all over the place and the 16 I think I am juggling right now have simply become 16 new balls that I didn’t even realize were being thrown in the mix.  (Pardon my many ball references, if your anything like me you giggled at least once when you read the word balls, everytime lol)
So here I am, about 36 things going on in my head and all I can think about is (a glass of wine) and how I have let the last 6 weeks go by without even realizing it - I have become complacent with how things have been because I have been scared- I have done absolutely nothing to get me where I want to be in my career!  With that being said- I have mastered the art of homecooked meals, and healthy lunches…Colton has been on time for school now about 95% of the time and I have been able to give myself at least an hour everyday to make sure my own needs are being met and let me tell you, that’s a really hard thing to do when you have 36 things going on and the kind of anxiety I do about never feeling good enough - It can really prevent me from being able to just let go – it also prevents me from being about to maintain those relationships with people that I so desperately want to fix but am just to exhausted from pretending to be the version of myself that they all used to know and right now to a lot of people I am just this girl who is obsessed with the gym and taking selfies for attention on social media or so I have heard!
I read this quote the other day:
Tumblr media
It has me really thinking about how quickly people can change, or maybe our change is so subtle and takes so much time that people don’t even notice.  Truth is, I am not sure when I changed, I can tell you why, but I can’t pinpoint exactly when I started to pull back and after a while time just kind of blurred together and before I knew it the things that used to make me happy no longer gave me any joy.
I asked my therapist (and yes, I totally admit that I have started therapy) if there was something wrong with me that the only thing lately that has made me “happy” is the gym? The routine of it- the atmosphere, the people? She told me it was quite the opposite that considering what I have been through with the fitness industry, she felt it was a positive thing and seeing it from her point of view it makes sense- there is a overwhelming feeling of power you have when you gain control over your body, over the way you view it, the way it moves, the way it feel and looks in your clothes- every girl has felt it -  am I not right…
Mama’s who just had their babies and finally fit back into their pre-pregnancy jeans or the girl who wants to loose 10lbs for summer ends up buying a new Bikini to rock on the beach….that feeling fucking amazing and we are ALL guilty of it, but some of us just show it a little different, if you follow me on social media then you know I embrace the curves, I promote a healthy body image, body confidence, every shape and every size but because of that and the content I post it comes with judgement- (which I am learning to care less for) I have actually been told by someone that “not everyone cares to see my face everyday”  - Okay, true- not everyone does BUT some of the content I do post does Inspire and motivate and educate people in a way they are not able to do for themselves– I used social media when I started out in the fitness industry too to gain my own inspiration and motivation and even now when I need Zumba inspiration Social Media is exactly where I turn.
I am going to confess, I am addicted to that feeling, that proud, in charge of my own life,  accomplished and healthy feeling that I have going on lately and I think every girl should experience it- every girl should want to show off their bodies in a natural way (tasteful) and I’m not saying show the cheeks and rack up the likes, I am saying that posting a photo that you feel confident and sexy in gives you power and presents a sense of confidence about yourself that studies have proven to be an attractive and appealing trait in someone- a trait that could potentially get you that promotion, out of a speeding ticket, through a presentation and it even allows you live a happier life because you simply see yourself in a different light, you don’t need to seek validation from anyone else - but here is the problem with social shaming, it can create doubt and can take someone right off track with their health and wellness leaving them feeling shame and afraid to be themselves because not everyone is accepting of their lifestyle – whatever their lifestyle may be…  and I think if we allowed ourselves to be the judge of who we are, then we should also be confident enough to be the jury.  Imagine a world where there was less self doubt, think about how our children will grow up.  My 15 year old nephew is questioning right now whether or not he made the right decision, it put him in a terrible position with his friends but from an integrity stand point – from being a decent human being stand point he made the right choice to warn a friend that he was going to get hurt by some of the kids he thought were his friends- I wrote a blog a few weeks back that was titled “The world needs more kids like Noah” – Ironic right now because it couldn’t be more true- and in the blog I wrote about how I envy that kid for knowing exactly who he is at 15 -then I did even at 25 and I just hope that he doesn’t allow what happened to change him, that he doesn’t allow the other kids in his class to be both judge and jury for a decision that he made- I hope he keeps his power and remains humble and confident in who he is. But, being the topic of rumours whether its high school drama, work gossip, social media bullying (shaming) or even a brief disagreement within your friends can be scary to face and without even realizing it you’re in fight or flight mode and you aren’t sure what you’re next step is- or worse know who you can trust and for Noah,  his next steps at 15 are going to be the deciding factor on how he views high school for the next 3 years, believe me – I lived it!
Have you ever experienced something that has changed you and left you wondering why it happened- but deep down you know you’ll never that get that answer and so you’re left just kind of putting the puzzle together without having the picture on the front of the box for guidance- gawd, it can be so frustrating - its like a man who doesn’t stop and ask for directions – you’ll get there eventually but you’re going to make a few wrong turns first before you do (lol) – I have so many questions that I am never going to get answers to and for months I’ve been working on this puzzle that I’ve found myself racking my brain over, trying to piece together when, where, why, how – and I failed to realize that finishing this puzzle isn’t going to make me happy, or make me any more whole- if anything, it’s probably one of those 1000 piece jigsaws where one piece is missing.. and it’s just going to piss me off even more when I put it all together and realize a freaking piece is missing.  I think it’s time I clear the board- realistically none of this is in my hands anymore and there is no more control over what happens next and the best thing I can do right now rather then ask questions (that I know I will never get the answer to) is to live the best damn life possible without the worry of what any one thinks- being less afraid to be that wild and reckless girl to step on toes.
I want to be BOLD and unapologetically myself, not just tell everyone else to be authentic and raw and then fade into the background so afraid to be myself- worried that big brother and sister are watching- but guess what eyes have been on me for a long time now and I can confidently say that I was not born to be anything less then simply amazing and the best thing I can do right now is invest in myself.  I’ve been asking the wrong questions this whole time,  I should have been asking myself “what I needed” to be ok – I told my therapist that I felt like I was on this hamster wheel that was just going around and around and around and I couldn’t find a way to stop and get off – She asked me what I felt the first step would be to at least slow it down and honestly I couldn’t answer her question – besides taking the step to see her I am clueless on what do to get off this stupid wheel.
Isn’t that a scary thought though, think about it, there are books on taxes for dummies, computers for dummies, numbers for dummies, gardening for dummies but no “life for dummies”…And no where in school was I taught to life, And I am scared for my future considering that I don’t even know how I am supposed to feel right now– damned if you do and damned if you don’t –Look at Noah.
Either way any decision you make has a consequence whether it effects you or someone else in the decision making process and unlike playing Sims when I was 15 there is no “back” button …there is no “Undo” – all I can do is live my best possible life- even with the 36 other balls I am juggling-I have said it before you can’t pour from an empty cup-you can’t live a happy and fulfilled life if you can’t accept who you are as a whole, if you aren’t comfortable in your own skin and doing things that are loyal to you, confident in the decisions you make - so find a way to make one of those 36 balls your tossing around, you – live your life, make your mistakes and don’t let anyone take you off your path – because if you allow someone else to be your judge and jury you will forever live your life the way they want you too- Quietly.

11 Top Personal Trainer Fitness Trends for 2019
The fitness industry is more popular now than ever before. In fact, it’s been growing by at least 3% every year and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. As the years go by, researchers and industry leaders are constantly improving and finding new, more efficient ways to get fit.
Whether you’re a beginner to exercising or an advanced personal trainer searching for ways to stay ahead of the curve, the list of trends below should give you more insight on the best way to reach your health and fitness goals!
The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) just recently published a journal surveying thousands of fitness professionals to show us what fitness trends are thriving in the new year.
Combined with our own data, research, and feedback, we’ve come up with a list of the top trends in 2019.
1. HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)
HIIT was the most popular fitness trend in 2018 and for good reason. These exercises include “short bursts of high-intensity bouts of exercise followed by a short period of rest”.
For busy professionals short on time, HIIT workouts are a great way to optimize the short amount of time you have to exercise. An example of a HIIT workout could consist of 30 seconds of cycling as fast as possible on a stationary bike followed by one minute of low-resistance cycling as your rest period.
Many personal trainers have incorporated HIIT workouts into their client’s workout plan not only because it saves time, but because it also has several health benefits backed by research.
Studies have shown that after HIIT, your metabolic rate is increased for several hours after exercise. Additionally, it’s been proven to help you lose fat, gain muscle, and even help reduce blood sugar.
With the large body of research demonstrating HIITs profound health benefits, we don’t see it losing popularity in 2019 the least bit.
2. Group Training
Fitness classes are becoming increasingly popular and made the top 10 fitness trends for 2019. Many people like the format of group training because it keeps them motivated to push their bodies to the limit regardless of fitness level.
There are several popular group classes to choose from such as Zumba, cycling, or even HIIT classes like OrangeTheory Fitness.
If your client isn’t getting the best results from a one-on-one exercise regimen, you may see better results in a group setting.
Consider hosting your own group training classes in 2019 as a way to establish yourself as an expert personal trainer as well as opening up the doors for a larger client base interested in your services.
You may find it more time efficient and lucrative to train a group of people at once rather than individual sessions spread throughout your day.
3. Sustainable Fitness
Fitness has become an integral part of our society’s lifestyle. And with the surge in popularity of healthy eating and functional movements, more people are now viewing fitness with a holistic approach.
Sustainable fitness includes anyone who wants to feel better and perform everyday tasks to the best of their ability. Instead of focusing so heavily on losing weight or building muscle, many fitness lovers, old and new, are prioritizing mobility, flexibility, and the ability to go through their everyday life without any chronic aches or pains.
The main goal of sustainable fitness is to be able to perform activities such as lifting boxes or squatting down to pick something up without experiencing any difficulties.
4. Fitness Training for Older Adults
As the world population gets older, the need for senior-specific fitness training is becoming more in-demand.
These programs are designed specifically for the baby boomer and older generations. And with fitness entering the mainstream, exercise programs tailored for older adults is a growing market.
Incorporate exercises that involve lower-intensity workouts such as walking, bodyweight training, and pilates. It’s also a great idea to add exercises that help strengthen the muscles around their joints and increase flexibility like yoga and cycling.
5. Bodyweight Workouts
Pushups, planks, pull-ups and sit-ups are examples of bodyweight workouts that have made a comeback in the fitness industry. While bodyweight training has been around for a long time, there’s a recent resurgence of interest most likely due to its convenience.
These workouts are great for clients who have don’t have a gym membership and very limited access to workout equipment. If you are entering the world of online personal training, bodyweight workouts are a great place to kick things off with your client.
6. Treadmill Workouts and Audio-Guided Runs
Guided treadmill workouts and runs will ramp up tremendously in 2019.
Equinox offers Precision Running programs that can help you stay motivated during your run. While they are most popular in big cities, you can expect to see a rise in popularity nationwide in the upcoming year.
The Peloton treadmill also features virtual streaming “running classes” that can hold you accountable to complete your run at record speeds. While still relatively new, these virtual running classes will increase in demand in 2019.
Several workout apps like Aaptiv are also gaining traction. These apps offer audio coaching while you run to help optimize your form.
7. Strength Training
Strength training such as barbell or dumbbell weightlifting has been around for several years and the trend isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
A proper strength training regimen prevents age-related muscle decline, keeps your heart healthy, and helps prevent any pain or injury from daily activities. Studies have shown that muscle mass plays a large role in keeping a healthy functioning metabolism to help you stay lean and in shape.
It’s a great idea to incorporate strength workouts at least once or twice a week into your client’s fitness regimen if they’re able.
8. Yoga
Yoga has been in the top 10 fitness trends for over 9 years straight. While it may take a certain level of expertise to teach advanced yoga techniques, there are several movements that you can incorporate to your client’s exercise schedule that don’t require much expertise.
Not only does yoga help with flexibility, but research has also proven that daily yoga practice can relieve anxiety, decrease stress, reduce inflammation, and even improve heart health.
It doesn’t look like yoga is decreasing in popularity anytime soon. Studios around the world are dedicated to the yoga practice and it may be a great idea to start incorporating it into your client’s exercise regimen.
9. Wearable Fitness Gadgets
Smartwatches like the Apple Watch, activity trackers, and heart rate monitors are more popular than ever before. With the rise in wearable technology, many beginners and more advanced exercisers alike are incorporating it to optimize their health and fitness goals.
Not only does it make your client’s fitness journey more fun, but it always gives you and your client a way to keep track of performance.
As a personal trainer, it’s a great idea to dive into the world of wearable gadgets in 2019. You’ll most likely have several clients asking you for ways to incorporate your workout routine and fitness advice into their smartwatch.
10. Streaming Workouts
Expect to see a dramatic rise in streaming workouts in 2019. With technology turning everything into a cloud-based world, more people are looking online for ways to get their daily exercise without having to leave the comfort of their own home.
New fitness streaming opportunities are being developed every day. Online streaming workouts like CorePower Yoga On Demand, Circuit of Change, and Physique 57 comes with top-notch fitness training at the comfort of your own home.
By catching onto this trend as a personal trainer, you may have a brand-new business venture to consider by creating your own streaming workout for your clients. Not only will this free up more of your time, but you can also target a much larger pool of fitness prospects who are interested in working with you (and tuning into your fitness streaming program).
11. Customized Online Personal Training
Until the past few years, if you wanted to hire a reputable personal trainer, you had to meet with them in person. But with the rise in online personal training, people now have access to world-class trainers through the Internet.
Instead of having to travel to the gym to train your client, there are now a variety of personal trainer software and apps you can use to streamline the entire process.

how would the boys react if their girl wore those one leggings that made her ass 2x bigger than it already is ? 😏
So kinky I love it 😏❤Leo: At first he would be training when his tenshi came in to the dojo to greet him, while he was doing katas he did a flip before slicing his sword forward and his eyes would be going wide and his breath would be caught in his throat as the sword was pointing right at her butt in those dark blue leggings with a swirl pattern as she had her back faced to him fixing her ponytail. It looked very attractive to him as it stuck out as if it was two small pillows had been stuffed in, but he knew that wasn’t the case. When she turned back to face him ready for her daily training with him, he would barely bite his lower lip as a kinky idea came to his head.
“Today’s lesson is yoga and it’s going to be focused on the…..lower half”
And he sure got a lot of it helping her with positions getting them straight, by standing behind her
Raph: He would be working as usual since he wants to be as big and strong as possible. He was doing sit ups while hanging upside down on the rack going at a fast pace, but when his babe came into the gym for doing a workout together, his speed started slowing down then to a halt seeing her shaking to her music making her butt in her red flame leggings, he couldn’t help but get flustered and a bit heated. The way it jiggles slightly looked like as if her butt had blown up with air from their last workout overnight. When she turned off her music and faced him he got a smug look on his face, and licked the inside of his teeth.
“Alright it’s leg day, and first thing is squats 10 sets of 12, I want to see those buns…..stick out”
And he got a good feel out of it when she repeatedly stuck it out, making him want her to do more sets
Donnie: In the lab as always doing whatever kind of experiment or project he was working. He was so focused on what he was doing when his princess came in after doing some homework at school. She greeted him like she always does and when he was really getting at what he was doing he accidentally dropped his pen and when he went to pick it up under his desk, he was in for a surprise seeing her black leggings with nerdy glasses on them as she was looking over some designs on a different table. Her butt was bigger and looked much rounder, like two melons. He would gulp hard and he would let out a little excited squeak to where she couldn’t hear him. When she asked him what they were going to be working on which design, he smiled widely and cheeks would be hot.
“It’s working on the van, the new rocket boosters……it’s going to be getting on….a lot of our hands and knees”
And he got a good view of it as she worked on parts of it as he helped her getting her the tools she needed and picking up things he “accidentally” dropped
Mikey: He would be in the living room playing video games trying to get past the hardest level there was on a game he had been dying to win. His Angel Cakes had come in the middle of the last level from her Zumba class going to kitchen for water. When she came back out with him still on the game he suddenly got distracted by the colour of her pink and orange tie dye leggings and that wasn’t the only thing he was distracted. Doing a little dance humming a beat her butt jiggled and bounced almost like jello on a plate. He would immediately lose consciousness on the game and would bite the inside of his mouth and a big grin would be plastered on his face, taping his foot repeatedly getting excited. When she greeted him saying how far he had gotten on the game, he had a good idea come straight to his head.
“Going good, lay on the bean bag…..I got to watch your back from the zombies that could come out and get you”
And with that he got a perfect view as he “protected” her backside when a zombie came out and eat her making her shriek and jump
