#Sorry for ranting in your tags op

I don't understand why fans in general are always so against critical analysis & always try to defend characters whenever someone points out bad writing. Bsd fans have huge issue like that I'm glad you're so vocal about dazai character writing tho cause lots of people just avoid it due to his fans taking it so personal
I think it’s mainly an issue of people not properly tagging their posts, so that when people search their favorite characters, they find negativity instead of the positive content they were hoping for. It makes sense why that would be annoying— but in the end of the day it’s everyone’s job to curate their own internet experience.
I tag all of my negative posts with #anti dazai, so it’s pretty easy for a person to just block that tag (or block this account), and so most people don’t have a problem with me. I’ve only run into any sort of problem with two separate tumblr users in the past (one of which is pretty infamous in these bsd tumblr circles)— so from my end of things, I don’t really see all the people getting angry about character-critical content. I know it’s out there, I personally just don’t come across it very often.
I also block very liberally, so that might be a contributing factor to why I don’t see that side of the fandom. But either way.
I’m glad you’re enjoying this blog!! For any given piece of media there will be positive aspects and negative aspects, and everyone can and should feel free to talk as much as they want about both sides. There also isn’t a single right answer— meaning one person could find a character to be written in a very compelling way and someone else can find the character writing shallow— neither person is wrong, so long as they can justify their opinions with textual evidence.
The only time a media interpretation is wrong is when it’s entirely made up. And I don’t mean “this person read the text and came away with a different conclusion than me,” I mean “this person is directly contradicting the text and is giving no reasons for why they might think the text is lying.” There’s always the concept of an unreliable narrator, but on tumblr, the website that’s infamous for lacking any sort of Reading Comprehension… yeah you’re not gonna get the brilliant literary debates everyone’s hoping for.

That TCU post…that is truly one of, if not the greatest thing I’ve ever seen come out of this fandom. I tried my own hand a while back at writing “the dsmp but taken seriously”; gave it a name and a playlist but didn’t really write much before I went back to my other projects. If you ever have the motivation to do more with that outline I’d be honored to be a co-writer or help out in any way, or if you want you could just use my title as a name for the series: A Ballad of Broken Dreams.
holy crap op this is so sweet. Thank you so much. I’m… wow ok. That. Wow. Thank you. That’s legitimately so kind and I’m so glad you enjoyed it XD. Id also Love to see your playlist and your thoughts behind the songs if you’re down?! That sounds awesome :D
funnily enough, I’ve had a drafted outline for this heccin thing running around in my head since the Butcher Army arc. Right around when SAD-ist dropped her animatic, I simultaneously realized ‘oh wow, I Adore this concept’ and ‘oh wow, I Highly doubt the CCs are gonna manage to do this the way I’d want to see it’ and lo and behold: I was correct. So painfully correct. (There were also People Involved whom I had Really Bad Feelings About from very early on that, sure enough, turned out to be exactly what i thought they were, rip) So the Emduo prequels, Icarus heccin Dying, and the end of Axe of Peace have been around for Ages.
I’d honestly love to do more with this concept, (i am designing movie posters as we speak) but due to Chronic Illness Pog I’m in a rather unstable financial situation? And don’t have a ton of free time for art. Any big projects are gonna take a While, or id need to find a way to use it or something adjacent to fund, y’know, Rent. That being said, I’m definitely writing the emduo prequels, both as movie scripts and as novels, as those are the films focused on, yknow, My Bois. I also think it’d be hilarious to release the novels and then the scripts and watch people Loose Their Minds over the ‘inaccurate adaptation >>:(‘
I’d absolutely love to work with other people in the fandom on this stuff, though I’ve never been the best at directly co-writing (my writing method and style is painfully specific (ie needlessly poetic) and I’m very autistic: I don’t like it when people touch that Specific Thing) but literally anything else? Im open ears. I love collabs.
and finally, I adore your name for the series, (excellent word choice there /srs, it fits perfectly with the symbolism of the whole story) and I think it works really Really well for the actual DSMP, but if I’m entirely honest… I’m not sure it fits the TCU? Like genuinely I’m so grateful for the suggestion, I love when people offer ideas and bounce things around like that. But one of the main things I tried to do with this concept was work out how the story could actually end Well. A deep-seated belief in the good-but-fallen nature of man, the importance of hope, and the inevitability of redemption kinda comes part and parcel with the whole Being-A-Christian Thing (if it doesn’t, you’re missing the Whole Point Of The Bible) and while the actual DSMP may have ended in broken dreams… this doesn’t. That was my first thought when writing that outline: This Is Going To End Well. Not for wish-fulfillment reasons, not because I’m naive or I don’t like bad endings, but because fundamentally, everything sad is a lie, and if the story has ended in tragedy, it hasn’t ended yet.
If I had to pick a series name now, I’m not sure what I’d pick. A part of me balks at referencing anything popularized by Our Local Redacted, but ‘unfinished symphony’ wasn’t his in the first place, it was from Hamilton. “The Finished Symphony” has a cool ring to it? I dunno. If anyone else has ideas please feel free to toss them in here aight, I’m not settling on anything for a While.
Anyways, thanks for Ted talking with me, drink water 💜

the op of the Hannah Gluckstein post is a terf :pensive: shes red on shinigami eyes + has some real sketchy stuff on her blog. obv no judgment, just letting you know in case you wanted to block her. love ur art <3 <3
eurgh thanks for letting me know :/// I’m not gonna delete the reblog bc hannah gluckstein as a jewish butch artist is still something that speaks to me personally and I had never heard of her before but I will be blocking the op. fucking astounding that these people will understand gender-nonconformity of lesbianism and then turn around and fail to expand it beyond the end of their nose. goddamn.
#(ok sorry went on a rant in the tags so if you don’t want to read me losing my shit over transmisogyny here is your warning)#as an afab gnc lesbian myself I feel far far far more kinship to trans women than I ever felt to most cishet women and CERTAINLY to terfs#like. not to go off on a whole rant but it is genuinely so baffling to me#how can you read gender and sexuality studies and examine gender as the construct that it is and then come to the conclusion#that gender essentialism is the way to go?? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.#when I took gender studies it was so fucking clear to me that like. it’s all bullshit. there is no binary gender there is no binary sex#none of it is real. society wants it to be real SO BADLY that doctors perform genital surgery on intersex infants to assign them sex/gender#trans women were and are and always will be SO SO SO SO SO key to queer liberation and the queer rights movement#and they are The Most Fucking Vulnerable Group!!!! they deserve more goddamn respect and protection!#going back DECADES they’ve been shut out of gay/lesbian rights groups#it’s like. transfemmes and fem leaning gay men are met with such aggressive hatred#in ways more extreme than say a woman cutting her hair short ever is#bc society views feminity as something weak and shameful#which! fucking proves a lot of the points terfs THINK they’re trying to say which SHOULD expand to#‘oh hey maybe our rhetoric was seeded as a way to cause a rift in what SHOULD be rhe ubited front of intersectional feminism’#‘and therefore we should work together and for and with trans women’#but no they’re too blind to realize that their shit MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE!!!!! AAAAAA#anyways. fuck. sorry to go off I just scrolled through ops page to confirm and got Real Fucking Mad godfuckingdsmnit#I need to install shinigami eyes I just keep forgetting#thanks for telling me tho anon. ugh.#asks#anonanonanonanah

idc if what type of blog you are—if you make posts discouraging how people enjoy/write fics, its an automatic block tbh. don't like the content? kay,, scroll n move on—be chill abt it and block the person. easy peasy. im sorry, but most callout posts regarding dc aren't even worth reading atp.. it's all about the same knickknack, and the ops of said posts aren't even being respectful about it; encouraging people to attack dc creators—I hate that "holier-than-thou" bs.
shaming people for how they decide to enjoy fiction is kinda weird ngl. theres way bigger fish in the real world to fry, and if yall want something to callout on, focus on real world problems.
that being said, if you call someone out, don't expect to have a peaceful atmosphere—no, there's going to be people who saw your post, and think "wtf?". if you don't expect people to send you hate anon, then that's on you—absolutely do not encourage people to attack others, and absolutely respond with a clear + mature conscious.
cause otherwise, what's the point of inserting yourself into someone else's community, someone who was just minding their own business?—if you can't be respectful abt it?
PLUS. any type of fic is gonna sneak through the filters with how fancy tags are getting. it'll be a common occurrence, so block and move on/scroll past it. ITS THAT SIMPLE.
unless the post DIDNT have any warnings/indications at the very top—it is seriously not worth getting that upset over, to the point of a callout post expressing your disgust.
IF YOU REBLOG CALLOUT POSTS. BE FUCKING RESPECTFUL ABOUT IT. to wish death on someone is so.... tf kind of person are YOU??? get YOUR ass a therapist if you're thinking abt unaliving someone.
might add more but idk I'm tired and I think this is all I got to say. gm everyone sorry for the long rant🤍

sorry to bring this to your inbox but i got nowhere else to bring it and i need a yell. I was going through the transgender tag for more information on the CEO's transmisogyny debacle and came across a post that started out by stating that transmisogyny has been on the rise on tumblr as a whole; reasonable and true. but they started their list of examples with "1. The entire concept of transandrophobia" and I just.
What the goddamn hell is wrong with you*? (not YOU you THEM you) Why the fuck are you throwing your trans brothers under the bus for the actions of a pissbaby CEO? There's a wave of false reports and deletions - TARGETING TRANS WOMEN - and your response is to try and shift the target to transmascs for... talking about their experiences? Your response to outside harassment is to try and spark more infighting? What's your fucking problem????? We need to be coming TOGETHER not picking a fucking target to spit on!!! Christ alive. And people wonder how it's so easy for terfs to turn us against each other. God.
Ok rant over thanks for listening
I just want to challenge your wording here a little bit; did you check this person's blog and how they identify? Do you know if they're a trans woman, a trans man, nonbinary, etc.? Even what they might have said on their blog about how they identify should be scrutinized- we don't actually know who this person is, and they could for sure be lying. It's really, really useful for people outside of our communities who want to stir shit up to pretend they're not outsiders at all.
The post you're describing is horrible either way, and you're 100% right that it's stirring up harmful infighting. I think it's really easy to see that kind of thing and think, "oh my god, people are falling for it! they're actually fighting each other now!!"
It's a scary thing to see, and it's incredibly hard to ask critical questions when we're afraid, or otherwise emotionally activated like that. And there's nothing wrong with being emotionally activated, either; of course you are! That's some really hateful, really wrong, and really dangerous shit! Sentiments just like that one have caused so much harm to our community, and so much harm directly to individual, vulnerable people- probably people you know. Certainly people I know.
But it's reactions from that state of emotional activation that lead to the success of these kinds of infighting campaigns. We get activated, we make assumptions and act from that activated place, other people get activated and do the same, and the cycle continues.
What's worse, you're the only person who saw the post in question; I can only react to what you're telling me. I can't go look at the post, check OP's blog, and answer any critical questions about the nature of the situation. I have no way of knowing whether this person might be transfem, or just a TERF trying to stir shit up. I don't even know if the OP was an anon ask sent to someone else. I don't know how many notes the post got, or how big OP's audience is; I can't really conceptualize the amount of harm the post has done. I don't know if anyone has debunked it in the notes, or if OP has since posted an update denouncing that original sentiment.
Again, that's not to invalidate your emotional response, or even really question how honest you're being here. For all I know, you did check all of those things, and this is worse than I think it is. It certainly seems pretty realistic to me, just based on my own experiences with these kinds of conversations.
I just want to push back on that wording a little bit because like... as much as it is a real problem that a lot of transfems really firmly believe that Transmascs Talking About Cis People Being Transphobic To Us is the most serious & urgent form of transmisogyny facing the transfem community today, it's also a real problem that transmacs will jump on that same line of thinking in an effort to paint themselves as "one of the good ones".
Cis women will often throw transmascs under the bus in the same way in order to avoid Cis Guilt, oftentimes avoiding talking about their cis positionalities- which leads people to assume that, because they're talking about trans issues so much, they must be trans themselves! Which, again, perpetuates this illusion that "the trans community is full of infighting" and that much more dangerous to various trans people.
(Granted, this is a complicated issue; I don't think it's wrong for cis people to talk about these things, and I don't think trans people should have to out themselves in order to do so, either- but I have absolutely seen this pattern taken advantage of by hateful anons, TERFs, radfems, and cis women who revel in being called "honorary trans women" for bashing transmascs frequently enough.)
Is this post demonstrating the success of cis people's efforts to stir up infighting in the trans community, or is it just an example of cis people trying to stir up infighting? And if you know it's the former, how do I know? How do all of my followers know? Is it better to understand it as one vs. the other?
I'm sorry this got so long and off-topic; I'm sure this isn't what you were looking for when you sent me this ask, and I'm sorry for criticizing your wording over providing the emotional reassurance you probably needed a lot more than this. And also, I do feel a responsibility to think about the people reading asks before I think about the people sending them (particularly if they're on anon), and I felt this was the message that most needed to be received from anything I could say in response. I hope you're able to find the emotional reassurance you need regardless, and I appreciate you bringing this to me in the first place. 💙

for the fic title ask thing: “no one knows about the words that we whispered (no one knows how much i miss you)”
this took so long to get to and i'm so sorry anon
okay, when i first saw this i thought 'oh this reminds me of that post i saw' - now i can't find the actual link itself but i did reach out to who i thought the op was and i'm certain this was a @we-are-inevitable post, but unfortunately tumblr's a stupid website and i cannot find that post ANYWHERE. i've searched every keyword and tag on both our accounts and i just cannot find it. so i'm just gonna explain it. the post jac made was them theorizing about whether davey and jack knew each other before the strike - davey knowing jack through the stories spread about him and through perhaps buying a newspaper from him once or twice, and jack knowing davey as a boy who he sees walking past his regular selling spot. they don't really 'know' each other but they do know OF each other.
the idea i had for this ask, building off of that premise, was that jack and davey meet and befriend each other before the strike. it starts when davey hears a fake headline jack's hawking and, being curious, asks him about it. jack sees what he thinks is an easy target - davey is very 'trembling baby deer' energy before the strike - and starts embellishing this lie, making up a whole story for it, and he thinks it's working until davey says 'but that's not true-' and starts picking apart all the holes and loose threads in jack's story. loudly. so jack's furious, and that's precisely what he'll say to any newsie who asks - until crutchie asks if he's not also a little bit impressed.
"i mean - if ya been carryin' him around in your head for the whole day, he must've rattled you a little."
so yeah. jack's kind of fascinated. so he goes back to that selling spot at exactly the same time, finds davey walking to and from school and for the next few days does nothing but make up ridiculously false headlines to yell at him, just to see how confused and frustrated they make him. eventually, davey breaks and finally starts asking jack what his problem is. jack appears totally innocent, asking if there was something wrong with his story, and davey, in a fit of frustration, goes on a rant about every false detail in every story jack's been peddling to him all week. which, if crutchie is to be believed - and jack believes crutchie - means that maybe jack impressed him a little, too. he's not sure why that makes him so happy.
"what's your name?"
"and another thing- wait. sorry?"
"forgiven. what's your name?"
"what? no - i wasn't - i..."
sheepishly, he says "it's david." and without missing a beat, jack says, "davey. nice to meet'cha." there's a look in davey's eyes for just a second that says he wants to correct him - but he doesn't. and jack considers that a win.
they start a shaky friendship. they don't really trust each other, but they enjoy each other. davey volunteers for more errands on the weekends on the offchance he'll walk past the newsie who's been irritating him. jack will find more selling spots that fit along davey's routes. eventually their friendship moves past running into each other on the street - they'll arrange to meet in parks, in secluded locations, never near the lodging house or davey's tenement, but still private enough. they talk - davey about being a lawyer, jack about his new life in santa fe. never about real life. about their families. about their fears. and one day, he sees davey around town with someone, an older man - a father. and when jack calls out a ridiculous headline, davey just keeps his head down, refuses to look at him. when his father frowns and asks him something, davey just shrugs dismissively, and they leave without ever looking jack's way. and jack doesn't know why, but that really pisses him off. aren't he and davey friends? where does davey get off acting like they don't know each other after all they talked about?
and then he thinks. and - wow. yeah. he and davey don't know each other. he doesn't even know davey's last name. all he knows is he wants to be a lawyer. he knows davey's funny and smart and can talk circles around him if he wanted, but he knows nothing about his life. his favourite colour. his favourite book. he didn't even know davey had a father. it just never occurred to him.
the next day on the way to school, davey tries to speak to him. tries to explain. and maybe jack would've heard him out if racetrack hadn't followed him today, telling him all about his night at sheepshead. but instead, there's something - something beyond the anger, something that makes his neck prickle like he's being watched - that makes him say 'sorry, sir, ya talkin' to me?'. and davey flinches like he's been struck and leaves without a word.
fast forward a year or so. jack's at the circulation centre. it's an okay day - he made an ass out of the delanceys, that's always fun, and weasel's in a sour mood, which always makes him happier - and then he hears, 'have a look at this - a new kid!'. and realizes davey is there. has been there the second they arrived at the gates, only a few boys behind jack in line, and didn't say a word. he watches as davey squirms under jack's gaze, trying to stammer out a few words - and there's something pulling at jack's skin so fiercely, some magnetic pull inside his bones, that drags him forward the second davey says 'excuse me?'.
davey shoves him off. they bicker. davey clearly wants to be rid of him, but there's something that finally feels whole, something that's been cut off at the root for so long that's finally beginning to grow back, and jack doesn't want it to go yet - so he clings on. and when davey finally shrugs at les and lets him shake jack's hand and say 'this is my brother, david', jack already knows to say, 'nice to meet ya, davey.'

im hoping you continue to make force masc art cause its always something i briefly thought about but rarely come across. which sucks, because i love tfgames.com but 99.999% of the ftm tag isnt ftm but just mtf games where you can detrans the mc/transformed characters. its infruiating, especially when i looked for any threads making a masterlist and all i found was a thread of someone complaining about it and asking for recommendations only to be told to suck it up and nothing else, just looking to argue with op, by assholes and like. one person actually suggesting some actual ftm games instead of "you can fight to keep your manhood uwu" ftm games.
i feel like there should be a "mtf detrans" and "ftm detrans" or even just a "detrans" (to be used in places where you start as male and can try to stay male or j u s t s u c c u m b which floods the ftm tag along with every other possible detrans scenario) tag on the site so people wanting to play a (forced) masc game dont have to wade through a bunch of force fem games and then the voluntary fem games as well. hell most games that let you do a ftm transformation or play as a ftm character are the ones that advertise being able to customize the mc to your liking meaning that its just a equal opportunity game. The only force masc game i can remember was called calamity jack and the last i checked its in limbo never to be updated again-although now im tempted to double check.
sorry for the rant, also i might commisson you if i get extra money for some masculization art, i also might try to doodle some stuff for it but ive been telling myself that for a bit. seeing you do it in a femboy way makes me feel kinda motivated though... sorry if this is super awkard just yeah
I appreciate your struggles... I think this is a we need more trans boys in stem cuz we are less likely to program stuff or make games. Not a hard rule but like we are usually drawing pictures and comics and not making flash games.... probably has something to do with newgrounds and stuff being kind of a gendered space and very cis dude ish so the big horny flash game platform didn't have as many of us. Then again there were so many deviantart flash games...... but yknow generalizations etc etc
Anyway I really want to make visual novels OR if anyone who makes any kind of porn game wants me to draw the art or work on a script w them... I do have writing that has been validated by actual publishers.... and I love horny games 👍
Anyway anon hope I can draw for you sometime 😌💜

About that entitled ass post about x reader, op was definitely wrong but a small point was made.
I agree with your response but I'd like to add that, unless you've stated that certain characteristics or features will be present in reader, certain kinds of ambiguity is necessary, especially in appearance.
To make a character completely void of any backstory or personality is just bad writing period but to add an appearance is a little ...
As a black reader, reading about certain things that are supposed to reflect the reader is genuinely disheartening. I'm talking about things like referencing imagery of lighter skin (such as refering to readers skin as pink, pale, creamy, etc) or something like a character running their fingers through the reader's hair or having a hair washing routine that can be done in the time it takes to have a regular shower. I know with people with big bodies, having descriptions of small, light bodies is also disheartening.
Bc, once again, unless it's been stated that those are a part of reader's appearance, it's a little unnecessary bc it shows that although it's x reader it's definitely not for us.
I don't expect writers to write about specific events or characteristics about different cultures and such bc that can also go south REAL quick if you aren't properly educated or aware but a little diversity never hurt anyone
I know that some people do this out of genuine dislike of darker skinned/bigger people but I know most people do it out of genuine ignorance.
Unfortunately, you cannot bring up including people who don't fit typical beauty standards (pale/light skinned, long straight hair, thin/slim bodies) without people telling you that not everyone has to cater to you.
But the thing is, we're not asking you to cater to us; we're just asking you to include us in your vision of reader. You don't need to add specifics of everything regarding different races or cultures but you don't need to add specifics that exclude them.
And then when we go to create our own stories that do envision us, we're met with so much hatred and backlash about it like that one deleted comment on op's post.
I'm sorry for ranting about this but it so frustrating sometimes when people don't understand this. I brought up something similar to this topic once before and got death threats in my mentions for weeks (that's why this is anonymous)
ALSO, I'm not accusing you of any of the things I've mentioned in this ask. Based on what I've read from your work so far, the reader is actually someone you can enjoy reading about without feeling excluded when appearances are mentioned
Btw I adore your rich boy gojo series and would love to continue reading your work ❤️
im afraid you missed my main point and also, u are talking to someone who is literally a POC so i am definitely not in need of a rundown of how important it is to write reader in a manner that does not perpetuate western beauty standards. writing a reader that is inclusive for people in a manner that doesn't solidify western norms is important, but writing a reader that is an all encompassing fit all type of thing in terms of personality and decision making is not
its not that their point ab mistagged gn! readers and white/western physical features weren't valid—it was, but it was sprinkled in their main point that writing reader with personality is an oc and is not belonging in the tags and writers should focus on writing generic hcs instead. they used the issue of race and gender and other minoroties to support their idea that readers have to be ambiguous from all fronts, and that is a very twisted way to use actual real issues to justify your tantrums ab not liking dialogue or what the reader chose to do. my point that i was trying to make is that writers are entitled to write however they please as long as they tag what features of reader are set there. if they mistag that, then yes, that is something you should bring to their attention (politely) because then it misleads ppl to think this fic includes them. but that also is not done through a rant in the tags because that does not belong in the tags
quite frankly, to pair racial and gender representation issues as comparable to not aligning with the choices a reader takes to develop as a character and to put those two on the same boat takes away from the issue of inclusivity. inclusivity of a reader does NOT equal to how they think, process, feel, and progress in the storyline. not fitting in with the actual character of reader is incomparable to racial representation issues and misgendering tags and etc. the latter are REAL issues. the first is simply complaining bc u did not see urself in a plot
the actual problem with their rant was that they were using REAL issues to justify entitled complaining and that is why i did not validate them in that. yes writing reader as white and not tagging it is an issue. yes giving little to no thought to poc readers in writing is an issue. yes mistagging something as gn! while using gendered terms is an issue. but they should not be the backbone to an entirely different argument that essentially censors people

Sorry I got a rant ahead 😔
Somehow an anti-dark content post with 3,000 notes found itself on my “for you” page. Basically OP said for ppl to stop writing “y/n getting raped by fictional characters, it’s a real, horrible thing that happens to ppl irl, and if you condone rape you need to go to therapy!!!” (That’s the tldr)
Since I like feeling bad for some reason I perused the notes and most of the ppl agreed with op. There were the occasional ppl who argued that dark content is ok because they know the difference between fiction and reality, but those ppl would get clowned on by ppl who support OPs pov
I’m not a dark content writer myself (hopefully sometime in the future) but I’ve seen so many do everything they can to ensure that ppl who don’t want to see their stuff doesn’t see their stuff, but still get heralded as an absolute monster for writing what they do.
Imo, it is perfectly fine to hate dark content, to be uncomfortable with it and not want to see it at all (I know there is an issue with ppl not tagging dark content as such - but I feel it’s not very common), but to accuse someone of romanticizing or supporting the content they write about…it’s like it’s the haze code over here
Yes, fiction does affect reality in some ways (if it didn’t then propaganda and advertisements wouldn’t work) but the ppl writing and consuming dark content are 100% aware of the difference between reality and fiction. There comes a point where you are old enough and mature enough to engage with very dark themes in fiction in a healthy way.
And writing dark content isn’t a new fandom thing, ppl have been fascinated with dark topics ever since we could tell stories. Sometimes censoring those topics makes it harder to talk about them when they apply to real life.
Anyways, sorry I’ve subjected you to my rant. I’m already feeling sick today and having an anti-dark content post somehow end up on my for you page just made me feel…ugh!
It's cool, sometimes you just have to rant
Your average adult is able to distinguish fiction from reality and I guarantee there's little overlap between the (majority, just saying) women who write dark content and women who condone irl sexual assault. And since I haven't been a misandrist harpy in a bit, I'll add this: if the majority of ppl who write dark fanfic condoned and committed irl assault, then statistically speaking, the majority who writes and reads it would be men lol
As long as we tag shit appropriately and do our best to keep it away from people who don't want to see it, smutty fucked up fanfic is fine. Most of us just enjoy escapism and the fantasy of being wanted feverishly and desperately by our favorite characters. It's modern-day versions of old bodice-ripping romance novels, simple as. If you don't like it, go to another shelf and don't get angry that you can't control what other people do/think/flick the bean to

I love the train of thought au! I hate Tumblr though, especially mobile Tumblr. Had to scroll for 30~20 minutes to reach the bottom of the tag. (Mobile Tumblr reloaded at least a few times and I almost threw my phone. I think I cried twice in frustration.)
I am absolutely foaming at the mouth because I've always liked the way Ingo and Emmet get presented, the characterizations are just so... Mwah 🤭.
For some reason the only thing I could think about after spending an entire night reading that wall of posts was the concept of big brother Ingo.
Sorry if I'm ranting here, it really has nothing pertaining to the au at all but I hate this concept, especially the societal concept that the older brother takes care of the younger one. Twins especially since they are usually born minutes from each other and that really doesn't mean anything different in experience.
Yes, Emmet is younger but I've always pictured him as the headstrong one that stands up for Ingo more often than not. (Honestly that's the vibe they give off collectively). I like to think of them as not in a big brother, little brother dynamic but a "we been through so much shit together we support each other fully" dynamic. I do understand why people like using it though.
Wait, what was this post about again? I swear I'm not trying to negatively rant right after bringing up stuff that plagued my mind while reading. I guess all I want to say is thank you for hosting this wonderful community au on your blog.
Expect Tumblr crabs in your blog later on. This is a warning.
Hey there OP! Glad you like it, I do too!!! (Still working on that masterpost ^^;) and apologies with tumblr mobile, I know it’s not the best with optimization!
I’m putting a readmore below because I got a lot more detailed than I intended to, regarding Ingo and Emmet’s sibling dynamic.
I like your views because it really isn’t as black and white (ha) as all that. I am a twin myself, the younger between us (and also by a few minutes) and throughout our lives it certainly has gone back and forth with us, but there’s really no definite position of looking after the other, just like with any other sibling relationship.
Given how Ingo and Emmet are, I imagine their dynamic very similar to what you’re talking about, being each others’ full supporters. Multiple lines in Masters EX show this, like these few from Emmet:
"Ingo and I are twins. We're both Subway Bosses, and we're each other's closest rival! We always challenge each other to get better. That's the kind of relationship we have! It's always a lot of fun when we're together!"
However, I feel like Ingo might feel… I don’t want to say obligated, because it’s certainly not work, and he knows very well Emmet can fend for himself, but perhaps inclined (pressured? By himself??) to carry through with what’s normally expected of an older brother. He might feel like he should look out for Emmet when he can:
“My younger brother, Emmet, would always entertain passengers on the Battle Subway... Now he is enjoying being a host here on Pasio. However, he's still new to this style of hospitality. Would you mind keeping an eye on him?"
And this might be somewhat spurred by the fact that Emmet looks up to Ingo, which I am sure Emmet has made Ingo aware of - he just might not want to let Emmet down:
"Do you have any siblings? I have an older brother, Ingo. He's verrrry strong. He hardly ever loses in Pokémon battles. Even though I also hold the title of Subway Boss, I really look up to him."
I do feel Emmet is very ready to support Ingo as well, seeing as how in their story event in Masters EX, Emmet was trying very hard to help Ingo with a project of theirs:
"I want to make Ingo’s idea a reality! Please, let me do this!"
And regarding your thoughts that of the two, Emmet is more headstrong, I feel similarly, and think he would always very clearly stand up for Ingo when needed.
I do headcanon that growing up, Emmet was more outgoing than Ingo (and that this led him to meeting Elesa, the new exchange student at their school, and taking her over to Ingo to introduce her to him, since he was more reserved and shy - not terribly so, but more so than Emmet)
ALL IN ALL - both Ingo and Emmet fully support and help each other out whenever they need it. And while Ingo might feel pressured by himself to look out for Emmet as the older brother, Emmet naturally does it for Ingo just as much, if not a little more, simply due to his outgoing nature
To try and tie this back to Train of Thought AU, I’m sure Akari and Irida would see a lot of moments expressing this dynamic of theirs in the many memory traincars throughout the mind station.
AND MG Emmet himself is pretty much a monument to this. MG Emmet is doing everything he can to keep Ingo safe from the Remnant and to protect him, even at his own expense to some degree. MG Emmet might only be a mental projection of how Ingo sees his brother, but the fact that MG Emmet is doing that means Ingo knows Emmet would do things like that for him, and he would.
Thanks for your ask OP!!! Very glad you like the AU, and happy you gave me a chance to go into all of this - I did not expect to dissect things like I did haha.
(And tumblr crabs? oh boy!!! Those would be my first!!)

Hi, other anon! First ranty anon here. Thanks for adding the bit about Rhys and Taika! In my head I included them in the cast and crew who helped shape their characters but actually didn't put that in the rant... 😅 And I gotta rant again, sorry! Please yell at me if I'm annoying. I just gotta rant at somebody.
But of course canyon op downplays their contributions! They're straight, they don't count! Only Con does since he's the only queer one in the "main three" cast! Besides who cares about how wonderfully adorable and romantic their little ad-libs made Ed and Stede! Nobody cares about Ed and Stede!
/sarcasm
Never mind the (admittedly slim) possibility that either Taika or Rhys or both could be queer and just publicly identify as straight. I don't know or care if they are or aren't, that's their business. But downplaying their contributions to the show just because they identify as straight is not the best look. Same with trying to villify Jenkins for his original plan (which still doesn't matter because he scrapped it) just because he's cishet.
"Jenkins never meant for this show to be so kind to queers!" they say as if Jenkins had nothing to do with the casting of so many queer actors and the hiring of the astoundingly diverse writers' room. He asked for queer writers and actors to help him shape this! Why does canyon op try to paint it as queer actors subverting a straight showrunner to make something awesome when he asked them willingly to contribute? Is it not better that this cishet man went to members of the community to help him make his show a wonderful celebration of all types of queerness because he recognized his limitations? Do they not realize just how rare it is to have that? Do we not want more awesome queer media that treats the community with love and respect, no matter who makes it? Why try to paint one of the few truly good things we have like it's just barely dodged being yet another lame "queerbait" when it's anything but?
(sorry again but I just saw their additions and justifications and like...did you not read your own tags, canyon op? you are trying to turn people against Jenkins with your post and you are twisting his words to turn him into a villain and downplay his involvement and make the show entirely the result of the cast dodging around him and...I'll stop now. sorry! 😆)
I think the original poster blocked me, which I'm more than fine with, but I still do find it quite funny that I literally didn't realize they were going for a "David Jenkins bad!!" narrative.
It's hard to say who shapes what in a show like this; again, it seems pretty indicative that Jenkins is collaborating with others and not simply forcing through everything himself. The whole point of allyship is for those in positions of privilege and power to use that to hold the door open for others who aren't. (I know there are lots of people who take issue with Taika, for different reasons that are perfectly legitimate, but he has undoubtedly held the door open for others, and it seems that Jenkins has too.) So to criticize Jenkins for making a poor choice and then deciding he could make a better choice, and that turning into what we see on OFMD, seems not at all about allyship or queer rep, but about personal animosity.
Same goes for Taika and Rhys. Again, plenty of actors can and would categorically refuse to do the queer romance. Others would be entirely uncomfortable with it and try to brush it off. I know nothing about these men personally, but every interview has them talking about how proud they were and are about what they've been able to do. (It's also, TBH, unusual to see two straight male actors being so openly loving about each other, which I think is nice to see.)
What struck me and so many others about the first season is that...they actually did that. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and it didn't. They're gay. It's a romance. There are bisexuals and trans/nonbinary people and asexuals and polyamorous people. The cast is hugely diverse. One of the leads is a biracial indigenous man and the other is the whitest man on the planet and they're shown falling in love (look at media history sometime and let me know how common THAT is). The big villains are toxic masculinity and colonialism. Classists get burned alive. Racists get their hands stabbed.
It is very much not a perfect show, and there are things it could do better, but what it does is fucking remarkable. You will not find someone more leery of white male artists than me, and it is always possible to be disappointed by a direction a show takes, even when its first two seasons are so good. But we should embrace it when art is done right and this show, so far, is done right.
I sure as fuck will not let a teeny group of dingbats mad that it doesn't conform to the story in their heads ruin that.

I'll always love a good Dizz tag rant about how much plastic fabrics suck ass <3
FVDSHKFBHDSUGDEWHJKFBZXJK im glad i have a brand!!! because like if someone doesnt need polyester for a specific purpose for its specific properties, why WOULD you prefer it over a natural fibre for an everyday use????
like. ethically sourced leather (which is a byproduct of the meat industry, cows are always going to be killed or will die for one reason or another, wasting their skin when it could instead be a Really good textile is STUPID and ILLOGICAL) or wool (something that will always be available as long as sheep roam this earth, and DOES NOT harm the animal and actually is integral to their survival!!) or cotton or linen or silk or whatever will always be a better, more ethical and healthier choice!!!!!
like just off the top of my head, linen is always going to be a better choice for bedding than anything else, especially in the way its literally a Stronger textile when wet, and its breathablity and antibacterial properties. all things you want when using and caring for your bedding????
cotton is GREAT for underwear and clothing kept close to the skin because of its breathablity. by the fucking way, ppl with vaginas? if youre wearing polyester underwear Every Day, i hope you know youre literally just inflicting yeast infections upon yourself??? like wearing cute lacy undies is great once in a while, but pleaaaaase. wear (loose fitting) cotton underwear to sleep, especially.
and also, wool is the greatest insulator that you could possibly get, and is key to making sure you dont also sweat (which can be dangerous and also gross even when its extremely cold), and is a great thing to use in your doonas if you can afford it (WHICH I CANT AND I CRY EVERY TIME)
like, yeah theres ethical issues regarding natural textiles, like leather dyeing processes (and that its an animal byproduct, which im not gonna talk about indepth bc idgaf), and the historically (and currently) evil practices being used to farm cotton, and the widespread fast fashion-ification of Everything rn even with natural textile garments.
but like. think about it in comparison to the mass manufacture and discarding of polyester fabrics, and the microplastics going loose in every single wash, and how polyester waste is literally just PLASTIC waste, so when your PU leather coat disintegrates, thats just going to go in the bin, where as a coat made of real leather is going to last for however as long as you can keep it conditioned and protected from damage (which can be fucking DECADES)
also, synthetics are Fine. like they have a time and place especially in the medical field and in situations where you reaaaally dont want anything coming in or out of what youre wearing. nylon was fucking revolutionary as the first entirely synthetic textile so like. i dont hate polyester? but again it has a time and place!!!
like, polyester is cheap as fuck, and if polyester or "cotton rich" (aka poly blend) bedding or clothing is all you can afford or find, then cool! im sorry about that, but i have no qualms about it! ive bought polyester clothing, like, my work pants are all polyester, because they were the cheapest dress pants i could get at kmart that were my size after trying and failing to find smth in an op shop! but like !!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHHHHH IF SOMEONE HAS THE MEANS TO BUY ACTUAL LEATHER (WITH NO QUALMS WITH REAL LEATHER OR W/E) AND THEN GOES TO DROP HUNDREDS ON A PU LEATHER (AKA PLASTIC) COAT, IM GONNA MAUL THEM!!!!!
anyways in conclusion, as i always say:

also LRB because i was ranting too much in the tags (sorry op) me rn with skunkape seeing my post it just made me worry about the ship art that ive done and made me realize how i slipped up once again. i really only gotta share to here and keep it off my main art account, even if it used to be also a ship account and i was less strict with it lately, the idea of official creators even just seeing those makes my skin crawl. or the secondary thing of people looking at my account through the shared post and sending hate etc. because they never were the intended audience
its why i even hate tagging things with official tags on tumblr but i end up doing that even just for blacklisting purposes, unless its like really specific ship art (mostly mlm you know). it just always makes me think, oh imagine you could get a job offer, but they would then dismiss you because all you draw is ship fanart and they see it on your art account. its sadly very realistic so i wanted to tone it down, but i wish i never had to

i was gonna put it in the tags of that one post but i felt bad for op so lemme rant abt this in a separate post
taylor swift isn't a lyrical genius I'm sorry. she might be above average but acting like she's the best lyricist today feels straight up disrespectful imo
lbr the only reason she's getting this much recognition is money. there are people just as talented as her if not more, but they can't afford her marketing teams or have the connections she started out with. so they're considered indie all while sounding exactly the same, genre wise (lbr most of the time they're better vocalists too. i think even most of her fans agree this isn't her strong suit, at least from what I've seen)
also. i think she simply stands out from the rest of the pop world bc, well, lyrics usually aren't a big deal in pop music. if she puts slightly more effort than a team of songwriters whose role is to churn out club hits every week then yeah, ofc her lyrics will sound deeper (tbc, this isn't to discredit these songwriting teams. they simply have a different goal, and the reason I'm comparing the two is they fall under the same genre despite their differences)
it just feels incredibly unfair, ig? to see brilliant artists get swept under the rug and ignored despite being incredibly talented, and knowing that at the end of the day it's about money. you need money to make it big in this industry, or incredible luck and forward thinking at the least, no matter how talented you are
also swifties should listen to other artists. please. it'll be good for you. esp if you're a gaylor truther you should take a step back
[all that being said. i think this type of frustration I'm feeling is what a lot of other people feel in regards to tswift (in addition to um. other issues that I'm not getting into rn). and obviously i get it, but at the same time some of the hate she receives is disproportionate to her "crimes" and can often feel very misogynistic so. maybe it's good to take a step back from hating and focus on shouting out smaller artists you like instead. turn that frustration into something good. for a little bit, so you don't lose your sight of what it's all about and turn it into something personal]
