Whenever I cry at the absence of love. I go to my backyard and sit on the swing. The same swing that my father loves. I look around and see tall trees, All stand tall as the evidence that there was love and care and nourishment. I see my neighborhood couple sitting on the bench, Her head resting on his shoulder as they talk about their days. I see clothes hanging, Woven with threads of love. I sit there with full belly because my mother cooked with so much. I am full because she made sure I ate enough of my favorite food. I wear my mother's ring and my father's t-shirt and my brother's bracelet. Everything reminds me of love. I am here because my ancestors loved and protected. I was born because of love. I was born to love. I was born to be loved. There was love before me. There will be love after me. There is love everywhere. River flows, birds chirp, Morning comes, people work, in the evening Sky is painted with pastels, Birds return to their nests. At nightfall there are streetlights, There is science because of love. People create for love; People create for the people they love. There is something like soulmates because there is love. There are best friends to love. People grow forests, walk across countries, find cures, cook, sing, dance, die, birth, weave, grow, heal, break All because of love. All for love. If only I were great enough to write a poetry on love, But love is poetry in its very existence.

it's depressing. i haven't even left my house today and its already almost 9. i will have to soon to get food and just. i'm tired. my whole neighbourhood has been yelling fascist shit. Anon I am scared as fuck too. Like you know I once believed, or had the privilege to believe that it started with BJP and it is going to end with BJP going out of power. 3rd- went bhawan

4th- went with shree to farmaish and got my kurtas altered finally

5th- met my online friend akansha from cs discord. She treated me to McDonald's.shes so sweet irl.

6th- played songs in class. Watched movies.

7th- went class. Dropped freya at airport. Went to shravani's society and watched dahi handi fir the first time. Hung out with kesav and nitin. Had do much fun.

8th- went to window and made out.

9th- went mdc. Met tamana. Went on a little trek to symbi hill and played cards on hill top.

People magazine has a new special issue out that deals entirely with cults. The articles are succinct summaries and accounts of survivors, and I’m honestly quite surprised to see how any of these cults are not only recent (and predominately take place entirely in America--what does that say about us?), but that I haven’t even heard of some of them. One cult leader was convicted just this year!

It’s clear to see where FC5′s devs got their inspiration from, and certain cults’ methods and beliefs actually line up pretty well with some of the Seeds, and even John’s foster parents, the Duncans. Faith echoes the Manson family (drug-induced sycophancy and love) Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s cult, a “life-style” cult whose leader said he could instill spiritual bliss in the blink of an eye; as well as biochemical warfare, like poisoning 700 people with salmonella, brewed in their secret biochemical lab (????). The Aum Shinrikyo cult likewise used sarin in their chemical attack.

John has elements of Yahweh ben Yahweh’s extortion, racketeering, and other financial/economic-based manipulation, and some elements of Nxivm’s use of understanding “the role of pain in love.” Jacob’s focus on sacrifice, eliminating “traitors,” and conditioning is similar to the Word of Life, who split apart families, mistreated children (with some really bizarre use of American iconography as their only way to communicate), and would isolate members for hours, getting them eventually to confess to “wrongdoings.” The Duncans are the Aggressive Christianity Missionary Training Corps (seriously, just look up how they treated children), though there’s bits and pieces that resemble how Jacob creates his soldiers.

Joseph, naturally, fits all of these tactics, with one glaring omission. The focus on social justice, the fervent belief that he is a prophet; the soft-spoken compassion, the love-bombing tenderness, the belief that only the Family will survive to create a new Eden; taking over an entire town, and plans to poison/harm elected officials who stood in their way (see: newspaper articles posted around Hope County, talking about investigations into the cult strangely stalling)--these are all common elements pulled from every cult. What’s missing from the Seeds’ methods (and I say this with tremendous relief) is any hint of s*xual abuse. As someone who endured physical abuse and r*pe, I’m not about to say that one is worse than the other--abuse is abuse is abuse--but I guess I find something personally comforting in how the devs left no hint of s*xual abuse in the Project’s methods. They’re bad enough already, no doubt about it. I’m assuming the devs knew that was one area they couldn’t cross, especially since their goal was to create an entire family of villains that were terrifying but sympathetic, villains as victims and victimizers, who are understandable even if we don’t agree with their methods--a complexity their previous villains were noted to be as well. In fact, that’s one of the reasons why I really love the Seeds, and kind of laugh at people who pearl clutch and shriek about how they’re villains! They’re bad! Yeah, no shit they’re villains, thank you for showing you have the analytical depth of a puddle and no ability to separate fictional interests and real life morals.

I consider myself extremely sensitive to the aforementioned content, and yet I was able to read the articles without feeling sick or dizzy or in any way uncomfortable/even approaching triggered. If you doubt you can read such a thing, please don’t read the articles. If you can, I’d recommend picking up a copy and checking it out, not because I think it’d change anyone’s mind about the Project, but because it’s interesting to see what inspired their methods, and how the devs chose to deviate from others.

Please also note the aforementioned spiritual bliss in the blink of an eye. The twins in New Dawn all have their eyes highlighted in some way, and I believe an eye is on their jackets? Plus, their eyes are Blissed out Angels’ eyes--they’re either in the Bliss, or they’re consumed by it.

Another sidebar: Bhagwan’s cult had his right hand follower, a woman named Sheela, eventually break away from him, but she spied on him, tried to kill his personal physician, bugged his compound, etc. This interests me personally because I had this tinfoil headcanon that Faith was gaining enough influence/control to make herself just as powerful, if not moreso, than Joseph--while also insisting that she was the most devoted, the most loyal. The notes scattered around Henbane that are proof other Faiths existed before her strike me as strange--not only because they’re there, but they’re in places Faith could find and read. She’s smart, terrifyingly smart, and I can see her keeping this knowledge in the back of her mind, all the while finding ways to sink her claws into Hope County in a way that even Joseph can’t manage (she has all access to the Bliss. She controls where it goes.) So her devotion/loyalty seemed to me a performance--a case of she doth protest to much, and such.
