Bracket Statistics #4!

Here we go with some more bracket stats! Note: this is the comprehensive stats for the polls Poor Little Meow Meow, Green Flag, Most Whipped, Autistic Swag, Bisexual Swag, Babygirl, and Gender Envy. For the stats for the Best Kiss Bracket, check out my post here!

(linked) I was thinking about doing a post on it myself, but they beat me to the punch with a much more organized post than what I was going to do!

There have now been 77 different dramas that have been in these brackets. 46 are from Thailand, 10 are from Japan, 4 are from China, 7 are from Taiwan, and 10 are from South Korea

The 2 new characters from Taiwan were: Amber (DNA Says Love You) and Jerry (Papa & Daddy)

The 2 new characters from South Korea were: Yoo Sinbi (First Love Again) and Yoon Won (The Eighth Sense)

If we include characters who have been in multiple brackets, 171 were from Thailand, 23 were from Japan, 19 were from China, 16 were from Taiwan, and 27 were from South Korea

58 of all unique characters have been in more than one poll (opposed to 47 before). The most amount of times a characters has been in a bracket is 5, which includes Pat (Bad Buddy), Prapai (Love in the Air), and Jang Jaeyoung (Semantic Error).

The drama with the most amount of characters is now Kinnporsche: The Series with 8 characters (Kinn, Kim, Pete, Porsche, Porchay, Tankhun, Tay, and Vegas). The drama with the second most amount of characters is Not Me: The Series with 7 characters (Black, Dan, Eugene, Sean, Todd, White, and Yok)

Gun Attaphan still has the most characters (3) (Black, White, Third), but First Kanaphan has now joined him with 3 characters as well (Akk, Alan, Yok). The other actors with multiple characters are: Earth Katsamonnat (Seeiw, Intouch), Force (Akk, Gun), Fluke Gawin (Pisaeng, Dan), Gemini (Tinn, Heart), Khaotung (Gaipa, Ayan), Louis (Meen, Thua), Love (Pear, Pa), Mix (Win, Wen), Off (Khai, Sean), Phuwin (Pi, Nuengdiao), Satang (Sound, James), and Zorzo (Ae, Tiffy).

Reverse Engineering the Gender Envy Bracket Seeding

I am very impressed by how accurate the BL brackets organizer's seeding has been so far! I reverse engineered the two seeded tournaments ('cause i'm a procrastinating dork), and in both the 1st seed won, the semifinals was between 1 and 2, and the bottom 16 lost in the first round. Otherwise it wasn't perfect (because that would be no fun) but it was pretty close!

I was inspired by their answer to this ask about how they did the seeding, and extrapolated the order from these brackets.

Below the cut is the seeding for Gender Envy, so you can see what it looks like. (Assuming I ordered them correctly!) The Best Kiss seeding (as reverse engineered by me) is in this post.

(@bl-bracket I can delete these posts if they ruin the magic of it all.)

This tournament seemed at first to have less accurate seeding, because there were more upsets in the last four rounds, but the numbers shake out about the same. Congratulations to Tankhun for beating two higher seeded opponents, first Win (Between Us) and then Ink (Bad Buddy)! He's the only one to do so in either seeded tournament.

Of the 64 candidates, 9 did better than expected and 9 did worse, so 72% did exactly as expected every round. In 69% of the gender envy match-ups, the higher seed won. The Final 16 corresponded exactly to the first 16 seeds, and the bottom 16 all lost in the first round. The biggest upset, in terms of a difference of 25 positions in seeding, was 45th seed Alan (Moonlight Chicken) beating 20th seed Khai (Theory of Love). All other upsets had a position difference of 13 or less.

Summary

Fukuhara Kota (Sota Ryosuke) is a bumbling college student who is plagued by terrible luck. Kaede is a sophomore high school student living in Virtual Kansai. She's tall and has a great figure. She loved playing the trumpet since she was a child, and is currently a member of a brass and marching band. She likes to be stylish and live with her cat. She wants people to know more about the things she likes, so she became a VTuber.

Personality

Her best features are her silver ponytail, white ribbon, and mole under her right eye. She's known for her "nah-ha-ha" laugh and has a habit of saying "Naande!" (なぁーんで！ Whyyyy!). She tries to speak in standard Japanese, but as she's from the "Kansai region of the virtual world", her Kansai dialect often slips through, which often leads to her own unique vocabulary, such as "Manji no jijou" (卍の二乗 Manji squared), "Warota piipou" (わろたピーポー LOL people), and "Marumaru piiman" (○○ピーマン XYZ bell pepper). Being a member of the High School Girl Gang, she uses the most schoolgirl-like language of the three and is the most youthful, to the point where she's sometimes referred to as "the NIJISANJI Highschool Girl" (にじさんじのJK担当, NIJISANJI no JK tantou).

She has long, silvery hair with a basic ponytail with a large white hair bow and two plain white hair clips with purple eyes.

History

Background

On 11 January 2018, Ichikara Inc. announced that it was recruiting "Official Virtual Livers" to serve as representatives for its iPhoneX app, NIJISANJI.[1] Higuchi Kaede's YouTube channel was created on 31 January 2018, and her Twitter account was created the same month. Her first tweet was made on 31 January 2018.

On 9 February 2018, Kaede uploaded her first YouTube video. Later that day, she streamed for the first time as part of a relay with the other Virtual Livers on Mirrativ.[2]

On 24 December, Kaede reached 150,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[3]

2019

On 18 June, Kaede reached 200,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[4]

She is sometimes referred to using the words "Hey!" (ちょっと！, chotto!) or "hetero" (ヘテロ). Those stem from a (not publicly recorded) livestream where a fan sent her lesbian fanart (a parody of the Yuri series Citrus) involving her and Tsukino Mito, and Kaede responded indignantly with those words.

When she was in the second grade, the boy she liked was going to change schools on Valentine's Day, so she learned how to make cookies from her mother and gave them to him (uncooked).

Her favourite anime is "Love Live!" and she's also a fan of voice actors, her favourite being Miyuki Sawashiro.

On 12 January 2019, she had her first live event Kana-Dero at Zepp Osaka Bayside, also featuring the other members of the JK Gumi Tsukino Mito and Shizuka Rin, also Elu. A sample clip is available here and video of the event can be purchased on NicoNico.

At the very least, hopefully we’ll get a fleshed out fight between Jinbei & Who’s Who in the manga. Same for Robin & Brook against Black Maria. Though, perhaps, since Luffy failed to defeat Kaido, the time for fighting might have been extended? So there is some hope yet. And man I’d love to see those fights. Also maybe Franky vs Sasaki.

Yeah! Maria and Whos Who feel like the most important of the Tobis with Sasaki being up there too maybe...Jinbe is in need of a good fight to mark his Mugi status and seeing another good Mugi team up with the spooky duo would be tight as fuck.

The 2020 Taiga Drama will depict the life of Mitsuhide under Nobunaga’s rule. It’s said that the theme or motif of the title ‘Kirin”, “ 如何にして何れの英雄の前に現れる “ --- how the appearance of the “kirin (horned beast) will foretell a hero’s story.

Kirin somehow symbolizes two things:

1) A beast summoned to slay another beast 2) A premonition of passing sage or leader

Based on these, it’s similar to how Mitsuhide is seen: a loyal Ashikaga retainer or of Oda.

Kazama Shunsuke (4TOPS; Johnny’s Ent) is Tokugawa Ieyasu, Osamu Mukai as Ashikaga Yoshiteru, and Sasaki Kuranosuke as Hashiba (Toyotomi) Hideyoshi ----> This is new! A very tall Hideyoshi. With Sasaki Kuranosuke as Hideyoshi, I can somehow see that they will paint a villanous streak here.
