Let Me Take Care Of You

Dazai Osamu/Reader Drabble

A/N: I just had this cute idea in mind, though it’s slightly suggestive at the end heheh.

Finding himself in your home was a common occurrence, even more so in your bed.

“Osamu..?” He watched as your cute face scrunched up tiredly in your half-conscious state, a familiar fondness reflecting in his expression. The sighs and hums you make under your breath as you rub your sleepy eyes has him smitten. “What are you doing here so late..?”

“I couldn’t sleep,” He admits quietly, unusual for such an overdramatic individual as himself. Or at least how everyone else thought of him.

You were unfazed by his toned-down nature, an exhale leaving your nose, “Did you walk here?”

“Maybe.”

You lie there half-asleep and appalled that Dazai walked from his apartment complex over to yours in the middle of the night just because he couldn’t sleep. “How did you get in?” You groan, rolling onto your back and rubbing your eyes again.

“I picked the lock,” He responds with an amused hum.

You mumble incoherently to yourself for a moment before sighing somewhat loudly and moving over in your bed, “C’mon…”

Dazai gets into your bed and lies next to you, surprising you by the cold that radiates from his body.

“Osamu… Did you wear a coat coming over?” Your brows furrow as you face him.

“Well you’re only—“ You cut him off from making any excuses.

“I don’t care if I’m only five minutes away, it’s snowing! What is wrong with you,” You scold gently, a hand reaching out to run your fingers through his cold, damp hair.

Dazai melts into your touch with lidded eyes, feeling more tired than he did laying by himself in his apartment alone. “You worry too much, I’m fine,” He dismisses quietly.

“If I don’t worry, who will?” You glare weakly.

In truth, Dazai worried everyone to an extent, but over time they’ve grown used to his usual behavior and routine of throwing himself into canals or trying new poisons. So really, you were the only one to truly worry for his well being. Normally, it would be a nuisance to him, but with you there was a part of his heart that squeezed at the thought of you genuinely caring for him.

Cold, lithe fingers caress your smaller face, Dazai admiring your features softly, “It’s always been you.” The pad of his thumb ghosts over your bottom lip.

“‘Samu…”

Leaning in carefully, Dazai closes the space between you until you’re inches away from each other’s face, “You take care of me, let me take care of you tonight.”
