Yukine's journey toward acceptance of the life that was robbed of him, this time with finality, exemplifies the emotional and beautifully rendered arc that has defined his character.

Yukine finally accepting the reality of his death. Yukine stepping out from the fridge that contained memories of what was once his life. Yukine freeing himself from the shackles of his trauma. Yukine running to protect the person who cherished him the most in the world. Yukine standing up to an abusive father. Yukine wholeheartedly apologizing. Yukine's growth, and Yato tearing up as he stretches his little arms to pull him for an embrace.

Yukine's gratitude for what Yato did for him is evident throughout the series. He was given a name more precious than any other. He was treated like a human--an ordinary teenage boy. And life after that was one exciting journey after another. Now, Yukine can no longer be entirely consumed by the horrors of his past because he knows that his reality with Yato is so much brighter. Far brighter.

Yukine could break out from that refrigerator because of the true, sincere, and nurturing love shown by the only father figure in his life. Yato has said multiple times throughout the series that Yukine was his priority above all else, and Yukine was the only person he swore to protect the most. Hell, he even went straight to hug him after Yukine apologized for turning into that form! Yato did not need to summon Yukine. Yukine came to protect Yato on his own decision. As he always did.

The journey to their healing will be painful, and this chapter shows that Yato and Yukine will face it together. No more secrets and no more miscommunications. They will help and be by each other's side as they always have, not only as god and shinki but, this time, as family.

call me a whiny little bitch boy but ever since the whole interdarshan championship its so hard for me to feel genuine interest in any of the main events after. it all just feels like a chore and so boring to me, i cant even recall what events we had since kaveh 🧍

after weeks i’m re-watching guapoduo/spiderbit povs and i noticed one thing that is so them; technically, they saw and shared each others mind literally.

the first one, obviously, is q!cellbit who, after q!roier respected the fact he has a special place —his own mind physically— and waited outside, let him in his most protected place to hang out together, having specials conversations after revealing q!cell’s traumas.

on q!roier side, in purgatory day twelve roier shared his screen and cellbit watched the whole thing, even if it was for the competition, i found so curious how if we bring that in a lore/canon context is like q!cellbit was on q!roier’s mind while he asked him to do things, fighting together for a win.

and now, where q!roier has like a mixed mind with q!quackity and q!cell, was q!cell who managed more of his actions, letting him as q!cell see richas again and take care of pepito as his new son (for this one, i prefer to consider like that day q!roier’s mind was so tired and missed his best friend and husband so much so as a copy mechanism he bringed their personalities, even if q!cell said he was q!roier, it was to cover his mental state to others. we know q!roier has different voices in his mind canonically).

in the case of q!cellbit he let q!roier know his physically mind to share his story, stay together with his son and even decor the walls with some drawings q!roier does to support his husband when he just wants to be in that place alone. for q!roier side, he let q!cellbit know his mind in his most vulnerable state, purgatory and after purgatory, where he just needs someone there too to not handle all his responsibilities alone.

i just rewatched volume 1 and thinking about whiterose makes me wanna pull the paint off the walls with my fucking teeth. i feel so feral.

weiss is SO sickeningly in love with ruby. she doesn’t know how to express love properly because of her shitty family, so she does it the way klein does it, through acts of service. she follows ruby into battle (albeit at first begrudgingly), she makes ruby coffee, she swears to become the perfect teammate — and not only does she promise it, she wholly fulfills it.

and ruby is also in love with weiss but she’s also young, and she probably doesn’t know what that’s supposed to feel like. but there’s something about the way that her burdens feel less when weiss is around. she can breathe and set aside the world’s expectations for just a moment when she’s with weiss. that feeling is so special to ruby, and she cherishes it so deeply.

these girls mean so much to me. truly there is no other dynamic quite like theirs. i see plenty of people comparing lots of other ships to them (myself included lol, see: that one post i made comparing them to lumity). and like yeah they’re similar, but not exactly like whiterose. their characters are very uniquely intertwined and balanced. both are so independently amazing characters, but their dynamic elevates that characterization even further.

(i’ve actually been writing this post since yesterday but i did not quite have all the words for it until now. but i feel i should share it now as penance to @powertaco for that one wk meme 😭😭😭)
