<Baby fanfic reader (drarry, wolfstar), accidentally got adopted into marauders fandom, doesn't know what "tomarry" means> 2020 me, staring horrified- :0000
<anti marauders fanon (but SALS <3), proud tomarrymort, sirry, jamesirry, harrymortinny shipper> 2024 me: 😈
The only thing that didn't change was my love and devotion for Harry. and prongsfoot (because anyone with eyes can see their chemistry).

this may surprise some people, but the majority of Normal people think that fanfiction- especially shipping fanfiction and double especially queer shipping fanfiction- is weird and gross whether or not there's incest/age gap/it's rpf. it's all "weird fanfiction" to them.

I feel like there's an assumption that art coping always represents the exact type of trauma the person went through, but that's not always the case. Many of the things I created and consumed to cope with my abuse involved a different type of relationship and/or different methods of abuse than what I went through. The coping doesn't always connect in the most straightforward way, and sometimes something too spot on might be triggering instead of helpful. If this is you, please don't feel like you're doing it wrong.

Hello lovely and loving followers! ❤❤ Let's spread some love and positivity for all the amazing ships out there! 🚢💖 Whether it's canon, non-canon, or even crack ships, let's celebrate the joy and creativity they bring to our fandoms. Here's why ship positivity matters:
1️⃣ Representation: Ships allow us to explore diverse relationships and identities. They provide representation for underrepresented groups and help foster inclusivity within our communities.
2️⃣ Imagination Unleashed: Shipping lets us unleash our creativity by envisioning unique connections and exploring uncharted storylines. It's a beautiful way to engage with our favorite characters and build new narratives.
3️⃣ Emotional Investment: Ships often inspire strong emotional connections. They make us laugh, cry, and feel deeply. Sharing these experiences with fellow shippers creates a strong sense of community and support.
4️⃣ Personal Expression: Our ships reflect our personal preferences and aspirations. They allow us to explore themes like love, friendship, and growth, and help us better understand ourselves and others.
Remember, ship positivity doesn't mean dismissing other ships or spreading hate. It's about celebrating the ones we love without tearing down what others enjoy. Let's respect each other's ships and embrace the diversity that makes our fandoms vibrant and welcoming.
(Not liking a ship or even hating a ship is a-okay! Just block tags accordingly and vent about it in your own space. No need to stifle anyone else's fun!)
Spread the love by reblogging and adding your favorite ship tags in the comments! Let's flood our dashboards with positivity and appreciation for all ships, big and small. 🌈💞

Very interesting how it's okay to ship Kazuha with the man who did a bunch of murders and was responsible for his family's downfall, but shipping him with the woman who protected him is too harmful to him and must be pedoincestified somehow.
(I have nothing against ship and let ship Kazuscara shippers, just so we're clear.)

So tired of people thinking that 'ship and let ship' only applies to ships that they like, or that they think are okay. Cause that's not what SALS means
Tumblr media
Definition of ship and let ship, from fanlore.org
As you can see, nowhere does the definition exclude certain ships. It even says ‘Just because you find that one particular ship problematic or disgusting, does not mean that other people are not allowed to explore its possibilities in their fanworks.’ Keep the words ‘problematic’ and ‘disgusting’ in your mind. Every ‘nasty’ ship you can think of is included in ship and let ship. Yes, even under-age, even incest, even abusive, they all are included.
You don't have to like those ships, or read about them, but you can't harass or attack people who do.
And if you disagree with with what I’m saying, maybe you should read the three laws of fandom, and educate yourself on fandom etiquette. They’re good things to know, and fandom would honestly be a better place if more people followed them

I love how undercover fancops always "pretend" to be into some adult/minor incest ship that plenty of us don't have the stomach for instead of posing as a ship and let ship person who likes the ships the fancop allegedly actually likes, which in theory should be way easier and more pleasant to act out convincingly.

I don't use labels, but I know for a fact the label 'pro shipper' does not mean you 'ship incest or taboo things' lol. It's literally just a fandom ideology, a new word for 'ship and let ship' and 'kinktomato', which have even been in the fanlore wiki for frickin years now, and before that, it was just a given because there was an unspoken agreement that you just don't harass people over what they ship write etc. I don't even have taboo ships and I agree with that ideology... harassment is wrong. If you are against harassment suibaiting bullying etc people in fandom over ships and writing prefs, that's all it takes to use the pro ship label if you wanna use it. That is it
In that way most people in fandom just minding their own business actually have pro ship ideology, even if they aren't aware of the term or don't use the label etc
Anyways, just because a lot of vocal people with taboo ships use the 'proship' label, it doesn't mean that's what the label freakin means
Quit using words y'all don't know the real meaning of and learn some fandom history challenge 2023

It's my birthday today!
I'm going to try and see if I can write something for it tonight (although today's been a little rough) but if not tonight then by Friday
Gh.ia's been so excited to celebrate my 22nd with me and now that we're alone hes ready to go; he got me a few really nice gifts (he said he saw them and immediately thought about me; they're lovely but I won't spoil what they are until I write that fic) and we're waiting for a cupcake to be delivered to us!
God, my husband's so wonderful... I cant wait to spoil him right back, especially when his birthday comes around 💕

Hey Sal, I’m Jewish but I don’t support what Israel is doing at all, it’s frankly disgusting to me and it’s left me questioning my faith…
Should I jump ship or somthing??? Idk it’s hard to talk to anyone about this.
No, why should you question your faith?? Your Jewishness and your faith are about 3000+ years old, Zionism is a hundred years old and was founded by a bunch of secular people. It has no religious basis whatsoever. Don't let the Zionists weaken your faith, you've seen so many Jews fight for the rights of Palestinians. Palestinians are always welcoming to anyone who support them.

Fandom PSAs
Tumblr media
Dont’ Like, Don’t Read
or DL; DR
You are responsible for curating your own online experience.
If something upsets you, makes you angry or queasy or triggers you, stop reading/looking at it. Avoid things that might make you feel that way.
Learn to use the Sort and Filter function on AO3, especially the Exclude tools.
On social media, block and mute accounts / tags / words when necessary.
If you hated something, you don’t need to tell that to the creator or start pointing fingers at them publicly.
The Back button is free. Use it.
Tumblr media
Addendum:
Yes, for this to work, creators need to tag their works accordingly, so that people know what sort of content they are about to engage with and can nope out if necessary.
I will probably make another PSA about the importance of proper tagging later.
Tumblr media
Ship And Let Ship
or SALS
You are allowed to ship whatever you want.
Everyone else is also allowed to ship whatever they want.
You are entitled to dislike or even hate a ship. If you want to do this online, in public, don’t use the ship tags for hate posts.
If you see someone posting about a ship they like and you don’t, there is no need for you to start arguing with them in their replies / comments / QRTs / reblogs. Don’t throw your hate in their face.
Do not harass fan creators or fans for shipping something you disapprove.
All of this also applies to liking / disliking an individual character.
Tumblr media
Addendum:
”I agree with this, except when…”
No, then you are NOT agreeing with this.
Let me make this VERY clear. There are NO exceptions. None.
You don’t EVER harass real people over pixels.
If you disagree with this, kindly block and move on.
Tumblr media
Your Kink Is Not My Kink
or YKINMK / YKINMKATO
The longer version is ”Your Kink Is Not My Kink And That’s Okay”.
People have different tastes. Not everything is for everybody.
Even if you don’t like a specific kink, other people are still allowed to use it in their creations.
You are entitled to dislike kinky content and think that it’s ”weird”.
Don’t kink shame or judge people based on their kinks.
This goes both ways: your kink is not someone else’s kink, so don’t push it onto those who are not into it.
Tumblr media
Be Kind
or Don’t Be An Asshole
Focus on the things you like instead of the things you hate.
Create and unite instead of destroying and dividing.
Don’t harass real people over fictional things.
Stop stirring up petty drama just to get some attention on social media.
Stop trying to ”win”. Fandom is not a competition.
Remember that your own experiences aren’t universally shared. Your perception of things can differ from someone else’s, but that doesn’t mean either of you is necessarily wrong.
