The actions and mindset of the Kingdom
The actions and mindset of the Kingdom
A recognition of the Kingdom of God results in a lifestyle and emotional mindset guided by its principles. Romans 14:17-18 – For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Whoever thus serves Messiah is acceptable to God and approved by men. The apostle Paul uttered this statement in the midst of his instruction on not…

Accept One Another
We who are strong ought to bear with the shortcomings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it is written: “The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.” For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.
Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you harmony with one another in Christ Jesus, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring glory to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written:
“Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.”
Again, it says:
“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people.”
And again:
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and extol Him, all you peoples.”
And once more, Isaiah says:
“The Root of Jesse will appear, One who will arise to rule over the Gentiles; in Him the Gentiles will put their hope.”
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, brimming with knowledge, and able to instruct one another. However, I have written you a bold reminder on some points, because of the grace God has given me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore I exult in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
In this way I have aspired to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. Rather, as it is written:
“Those who were not told about Him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
That is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.
But now that there are no further opportunities for me in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to visit you, I hope to see you on my way to Spain. And after I have enjoyed your company for a while, you can equip me for my journey.
Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem to serve the saints there. For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem. They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual blessings, they are obligated to minister to them with material blessings.
So after I have completed this service and have safely delivered this bounty to them, I will set off to Spain by way of you. I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.
Now I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Pray that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there, so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed.
The God of peace be with all of you. Amen. — Romans 15 | The Reader’s Bible (BRB) The Reader’s Bible © 2020 by Bible Hub and Berean.Bible. All rights Reserved. Stop Passing Judgment on Each Other (Romans 14:13-5:2)
It’s one thing to have opposing views with each other; it’s another thing altogether to pass judgment on the person(s) for whom you have a difference of opinion, practice, or theology.
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat,…

ROMANS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 15
Thursday, 2/8/23
SCRIPTURE:
We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this.  We must not just please ourselves.  We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.  For even Christ didn’t live to please Himself. ...  ~ Romans 15:1-3
OBSERVATION:
Here Paul's talking about what to eat or drink...
What about today? What are folks "sensitive" about that I may be insensitive to?
I should be seeking to please God first by helping "...others do what is right to build them up in the Lord..."
If - since - even Christ didn't live to please Himself - but sought to please God first and always - who am I to please myself by being "right" all time? By being the "center of attention"?
APPLICATION:
Live to please God...
Be considerate of others...
Be sensitive to the sensitivities of others...
Help others do what is right in the Lord...
Build others up in the Lord...
PRAYER:
Loving Father God - I ask to be forgiven of my sinful failure to please You first and in all things I do, in for being insensitive to the needs and concerns and worries and sensitivies of those around me, for not looking for those places where You can reach in through my words or actions and through Your Holy Spirit begin the healing and comforting work that leads to their realization of Your grace and love offered through Jesus... May Your Holy Spirit continue to instruct me in how to build up others in You in the same way that He builds me up in You - day by day and minute by minute - In Jesus's Name, and for Your glory and worshipful praise...
Closing with verse 13:
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him [and that] you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Killing My Vanity; Praising the Undertaker
Killing My Vanity; Praising the Undertaker
When I started in ministry back in 2010, I had good motives as far as I knew. I set out to build ministries in number and succeeded. I set out to teach God’s word and saw lives turned around for the better. I wouldn’t change that, but I do look back and see so much vanity in my younger self—vanity that persisted with me for a long time. I don’t know if any of it remains, but I can see how God has…

Look, as much as I love celebrating Caesar’s death as the next Tumblrina, there’s an element to this that I think we need to address. About Caesar, about his assassination, about our reaction to it.
It didn’t work.
Killing Julius Caesar didn’t stop Rome from becoming an Empire. If anything it expedited the process. Because all the assassination did was turn Caesar into a martyr for his family and followers to turn into a standard to rally behind. The Republic fell, the Empire rose, and Caesar’s Assassination was the tipping point of it all.
In fact, there’s evidence Caesar had knowledge of the planned Assassination and went anyway, knowing what his death would turn him into. But why?
Fascists don’t get turned on by their followers when they die. They get turned on when they look weak.
By the time of his death, Caesar was sick. There’s evidence that he was incontinent and beginning to have mental problems. All in all, things that made him look weak.
I can’t say what would have happened in Brutus and the Senate had stayed their hand, but history would not have turned out the same way. Certainly, Caesar would not have been turned into a martyr with his assassination. If his followers had seen Caesar as he was, a shambling, dying, sick old man, would that have turned them on him? I can’t say.
The assassination of Julius Caesar isn’t a happy event, it’s a cautionary tale. I’m not saying this to ruin our Ides of March celebration, but I feel it needs to be said. Make Dictators look weak, and then stab them.

Trust that is rewarded
Trust that is rewarded
When we place our trust in him, God provides reassurances that provide peace and joy. Psalm 119:125 – I am your servant; give me understanding so that I may know your decrees. One of the challenging things about God’s Word is that it takes faith to understand it. People may resist committing to place their faith in God and in his Messiah because they don’t understand everything about God’s…
