i dont understand whats happeningggggg TT__TT
so the usb-c splitter DOES power the keyboard and the keyboard DOES send correct-looking keycodes to the tablet but the left and right keys dont.......... turn the page......... like theyre supposed to........

“hi,” you stated, your hand now back in its spot on your lap, fiddling with the sleeves of your shirt
“hi,” chuckled, turning his whole body so you were facing. you just gave a close lipped smile, not really knowing what to say
he poked you as you did to him when you’d initially come up to him, and that was what confirmed for you that rutger was exactly as you’d read him- a soft character who wasn’t always situationally aware
“you hungry?” he asked, tilting his head. you shrugged and he stood up, holding out his hand for you to take. you gripped his wrist, getting back up onto your feet and following close behind him as he walked out of yost and towards a diner that was on the outskirts of campus
the two of you ate in silence, you giving him a look of disapproval when he took one of the carrot sticks that had come with your chicken fingers and him replying with a silly smile.
once you’d finished up, you stared at him while occasionally sipping on your drink, curiosity finally getting the best of you
“you don’t ask many questions,” you stated, and he looked up from his phone, shrugging.
“will i understand the answers to the questions i have?” you furrowed your eyebrows, fighting a smile as you shook your head at him
he gave a joking wink, turning his phone off and making eye contact.
“adam does that too. just goes with things he knows he’ll never get,” you mumbled, stacking his plate on top of your and organizing the cutlery
“did you like your food?” he switched the subject, brain going in a million different directions now that he wasn’t preoccupied eating
you simply nodded, furrowing your eyebrows as you looked to the door and saw luca and adam- immediately looking over at the two of you
“he texted the team chat asking if anyone had seen you. i think he was about to call the police,” rutger blew his eyes wide and smiled, and you giggled, looking over at luca and sliding over in your booth so he could sit next do you
“ok. so let’s tell me before you go on field trips next time. you were standing right next to me and i look over?? you’re gone” you smile sheepishly, leaning on lucas shoulder
“we were hungry,” you mumbled.

almost a year later, you were sat in the same booth with rutger at the diner. adam was in columbus and luca was studying for a final you deemed yourself too much of a distraction
you slapped his hand as he reached over for a carrot stick, and he smiled.
“so protective of your carrots, y/n/n,” he teased, giving you a joking glare and wiping his hands on his pants.
you finished off your carrot and stacked your plates together, then drank the last of your drink.
“i should get back to luca, he wanted movie night,” you explained, moving out of the booth with rutger not far behind you.
you knocked your head into his shoulder as a goodbye and he smiled and waved, following you out but leaving in the other direction.
when you’d gotten home, luca was already on the couch flicking through movies to watch.
“got food with rut?” he asked, opening his arms and kissing your cheek once you’d adjusted in his lap.
you hummed in confirmation and luca smiled, looking up at you.
“what is it about him? some of the guys wanna know why you’ve coined him your lunch buddy,” he ran his fingers through your hair and you shrugged.
“i don’t really know. he feels familiar. i like to stick by him when you’re busy, it just makes me feel less overwhelmed” you murmured, nestling further into luca.
he paused, then nodded
“like you used to do with adam?” you opened your mouth to talk but were short on words
“oh.” you whispered, blinking and hiding your face into him. “i’m sorry,” you continued, not wanting him to feel like you’d replaced his brother
“don’t be, pretty. you can have multiple safe people. it’s not a crime,” he chuckled, kissing your temple and rubbing your back a little to comfort you
“plus- you’ve given rutger bragging rights to the rest of team 101 for the rest of ever, so he’s thrilled,” luca joked, poking your hip
you giggled, looking up at him.
“they all love you, pretty. take your time and you’ll warm up. don’t rush it,” you nodded, head falling back down to his shoulder and hand grasping his

You’re boyfriend was over the moon with how excited he’d been with waiting for the draft
Growing up you were friends with Rutger until the 6th grade
You both were in Mr.Paulson’s math class for 1st period
You two were seated next to each other for the rest of the year
Truth be told you had, had a crush on Rutger but wouldn’t tell her
Sitting next to him was the perfect opportunity to make small talk about everything
By the end of the year the two of you were dating and stayed like that up until today
You went to every home game since he was 12
You couldn’t imagine life without the brunette boy
You sat next to the boy holding his hand tight as he waited silently for his name to be called
Finally it happened
“The Winnipeg jets are proud to select from the U.S. national development team Rutger McGroarty!”
Rutger beamed up from his seat hugging you before his own family
You mumble “I’m so proud of you” into the crook of the boys neck
He strutted down to the stage beaming with confidence
You proud of him but he was more proud of himself
After about an hour his family and you were finally able to see him
He bouncing up and down pointing to all the things in the room he thought were cool
You looked up at him and laughed
Later that night you sat at a table eating dinner, Rutger was attached to your hip for the rest of the night
He kept pressing kisses to the top of your head and your cheek
Before the night ended he popped the question
He got on one knee and said “are you ready to be a nhl girlfriend?”
You just patted his head and laughed at his nonsense
You knew from then on that you two were gonna make it for a while

Uncovering the unreleased Far Cry 5 in-game Encyclopedia
Aside from the places that still exist in the game, I also found a few that don’t!
Part 5: Cut locations
In the files, each location on the map has a code. Thanks to location-specific Gun For Hire comments (found in a document that DanaDuchy shared here) and other information available in oasisstrings, I tried to find which code corresponded to which location. That took me some time because I had to take my companions to several places to see which comments would be triggered, find those comments in the files, and look at the associated location code. Sometimes, I even had to go find and hire new fighters who had the “right voice” if I knew they had something to say about a place I wanted to identify! When I was done matching all in-game locations with codes, I realized there were more.
The code looks different depending on how important the place is. For example, Fall’s End is D2_HERO_01, the Baron Lumber Mill is H5_MEGA_01, and the 8-Bit Pizza Bar is E5_POI_08 (I suppose “POI” means “Point Of Interest”). That helped me find which code was which location, but in the case of deleted content, also gives information on how big the place was supposed to be before it got cut.
Using NPC comments, as well as deleted notes and other information available in oasisstrings, here are the cut Far Cry 5 locations I could find and their description in the unreleased encyclopedia (or at least what I can hypothesize about those places).

(Below, for clarity, “RF” means “Resistance Female” and “RM” is for “Resistance Male”, which are the characters’ names in the files)
Fumaroles (F5_POI_03)
A hole in the planet's crust that belches steam and gases. According to Montana Parks and Recreation officials, fumaroles are not portals to hell.
Here, Guns For Hire would say:
RF1: "Took a field trip here once. Don't remember anything about this."
RM1: "Damn, look what they've done to this place."
Hurk: "Daddy calls this the Devil's Asshole because it smells so bad."
Old Lakeside Camp (E6_POI_05)
Probably some good memories were made here under the stars.
Pilgrimage Footbridge (E7_POI_01)
Located on high cliffs and above water, it's a part of Faith's pilgrimage. Not for the faint of heart.
Here, Guns For Hire would say:
RF2: "Wonder how many folks they've already forced to march over this bridge. Makes me sick."
RM2: "Please let's not cross that footbridge."
High Cave (F7_POI_01)
A cave that is high
Here, Guns For Hire would say:
Jess: "Check out that cave. I used to smoke tons of weed in there when I was a kid."
Western Radio Tower (code unknown)
A large aerial tower used to transmit and boost radio signals.
Abandoned Motel (D6_POI_01)

Shooting Range (F5_POI_06)

There was a note called “Shooting Range note” that said, “Grace Armstrong should own this.”

Bob’s Gun Shop (G5_POI_07)
This one is interesting because it looks like it wasn’t completely cut but rather turned into another location with a new code: the Can of Worms Fishing Store (G4_POI_01). Look at the picture associated with the location (see link at the beginning of the post), compared to a screenshot I took of the Can of Worms Fishing Store:

I didn’t find the name of this place, but it’s the one I’m the most curious about. The code says it’s a “HERO” type of location, which suggests it was probably important since, in this category, we also find Joseph’s Island (as a whole), Dutch’s Island (as a whole), John’s Gate, Seed Ranch, Fall’s End, the McKinley Dam, St. Francis Veteran’s Center, the Wolf’s Den, and Sacred Skies Youth Camp.
Here, Guns For Hire would say:
Nick: "I think my mic's on. ...The button's stuck... C'mon."
Sharky: "Did you know doctors used to finger blast women here when they were hysterical? I wish I was a doctor."
Grace: "I don't know much about this place. It's new to me."
Jess: "Fuckin' loonie bin. Always gave me the creeps."
Adelaide: "Can you think of anything scarier than places like this? Gives me the willies."
Hurk: "This is where I come to score chicks, man."
These comments, especially what Sharky, Jess, Adelaide, and even Hurk say, make me think it could be a psychiatric facility, possibly for women only. I really wish I knew more about this!

Nick: "Ugh. I hate seeing crashed planes. They look so much better in the sky."
This one could have something to do with the “Mayday” Prepper Stash, but I took Nick to that location and could never trigger his comment...
And that’s pretty much all the interesting things I found!
There were a few more “orphaned” codes that simply appeared in oasisstrings but for which I didn’t find any information. There was also this description:
The Forbeth family has loved the Father's message since day one. These people were told to prepare for the Collapse and abandoned their home.
Since the Rotten Mill (Joseph’s Island) apparently didn’t have a description yet, it could be for this place, but it could also be for another, deleted location.
Finally, it seems the Elk Jaw Lodge used to be called the “Bear Jaw Lodge”, and maybe there was a place called “Killburn Farm”, but maybe it was also one of the current in-game locations’ former name.

Okay so that post I just reblogged where the artist described their vision of dwarves as "badgers in human form" reminded me of a game called Blood, Guts and Glory, the predecessor to Lightmaster. It's also a d20-based clone of Rolemaster, but BG&G aimed to be a more accurate 1:1 reproduction of RM2 whereas Lightmaster took many liberties.
Anyway, one notable way in which BG&G differed from RM was the fact that all the playable species were anthropomorphic animals, but their stats mapped out pretty clearly to D&D races if one so wished.
This has now made me think... B/X D&D had the whole model where demi-humans were represented as classes instead of a separate "race" axis put on top of a class. So Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling were classes.
What if each of the classes was mapped out to a separate species? It would certainly be weird. Instead of there being Clerics as a type of human there would be an entire species whose deal was being... Clerics. You have Fighters and Magic-Users as separate species. What does it say of whichever species gets the "Elf" class (in B/X very much a Fighter/Magic-User hybrid).
It wouldn't need to be furry animals, it could be its own weird thing.
