There was uncertainty as to whether Meghan, Harry's wife, would accompany him to Scotland.  When it became apparent that Catherine wouldn't be coming since she had to pick up her kids from school, it also became apparent that Meghan wouldn't be going. The Prince of Wales and his uncle are aides-de-camp to the King. Prince William and his uncle, Prince Edward, were recently seen in their royal figures.

King Charles recently bestowed the role of personal aide-de-camp to his son, Prince William, and his brother, Prince Edward.

The roles were enacted by the royal figure on the couple's epaulettes during their recent public appearances.

William and Edward were personal aides-de-camp to the late Queen before she died in September last year.

Last week, the Prince of Wales was invited to rehearsals for the grand birthday parade of his father, King Charles. The annual public celebration of King Charles's birthday will take place at Horse Guards Parade on June 17 this year.
