Today in living my nerdiest possible life, @sol1loqu1st and I found a bunch of Virgin New Adventures books at the sci-fi bookstore today.

Considering the two of us have been friends for a decade specifically because we bonded over the Wilderness Years Doctor Who EU on a writing forum as teens (I was a big Eight guy, they were really into Seven), they were a pretty delightful find. So of course we had to buy matching VNAs for each of our bookshelves.

"You don't know?" They gasped, with an affect in their voice akin to a silver screen starlet. "You don't know?"

ok so in this cross-au, i can see Cynic and Chat being competing sidekicks for Ladybug. Chat Noir is the perfect sidekick and all, but... this 'Coyote' seems to always come in clutch and make up for Chat Noir's occasional mistakes! ...And they're so charming, too!

Thinking about how, in ‘Geek Love’, Olympia’s entire life past-tragedy was permeated with Arturo. She saw him in Miranda, with her repeatedly reiterating how she looked so much like him it made her alert to her every move just like she was while with him. She saw him in Mary Lick with her practice of mutilating people to set them free and the way that in the end she genuinely loved her as a friend despite hating her. In Miranda’s tail dilemma, there was truly no way for Olympia to win: had Miranda not followed through with the operation, she would be forced to have a relationship with a live embodiment of the place Arturo used to hold in her life and would never know a day of peace again — and had she gone under the knife, Olympia would be stuck living with an all-consuming guilt that by letting her do this, she let her family down and betrayed the ideals that Arturo instilled in her. And this is what makes her character so tragic, because really it wouldn’t take a lot for her to leave the past in the past and start a completely new life, but due to all the ways she was messed up by her upbringing she just couldn’t fathom it. And so she kept holding on to her family as it was poisoning her life — “I cannot run from my family” — and she didn’t register as she turned into Arturo herself, bitter and desperate to keep Miranda to rot in the remains of this legacy along with her, still deluding herself that by being a freak, she was superior to others — “becoming the dragon”. i mean i absolutely love the season 5 finale song, its genuinely beautiful and and heartfelt and bittersweet in the best way, but since im sure that is a common answer to this question ill give you my second favourite:

the first episode in season 6, with " failed instrument prototype 73", which i just find delightful and funny--it manages to hit both my song tastes and humour tastes. (im also a big fan of the ASMODEUS one though, its got entertaining lyrics and a banger melody)

It felt wrong for Randall to be the only one eating, especially now that he knew the truth about her diet-he could understand why she wouldn't want to eat (drink?) around him, of course, but nevertheless, it just felt wrong for him to have breakfast while she didn't. If he hadn't known about her vampirism, if he was still in the dark about it last night and this morning, he may have been able to play off her lack of eating as simply nerves or something like that, but now that he knew, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of concern for her.

Gratefully accepting the eggs and bacon and coffee, he took a seat at the kitchen table, his tone gentle, and yet firm, as he continued, "You told me last night that, despite everything that's happened...you're still you. And I believe that, and I don't think there's anything on this Earth that could change that, or the way that I feel about you, Emily. So, if you need to eat, please do. It doesn't frighten me."

He gave her a gentle smile as he said this, before taking a little sip of coffee-it would still be a touch jarring, to think of his beautiful, sweet, gentle angel drinking blood, he was sure, but he knew that was what she needed to do to live, and accepted that. She did what she had to do, and he didn't want her to hunger on his account, least of all when he himself got to eat. It would mean he'd have to leave sooner than later if she was going to eat-and he didn't want to leave, not so soon.
