Eva Watson-Schütze (1867–1935) was an American photographer who was one of the founding members of the Photo-Secession. Via kosbah Salome

She born as Eva Lawrence Watson in Jersey City, New Jersey on September 16, 1867.

In 1883, when she was sixteen, she enrolled in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Her interests at that time were watercolor and oil painting. Via Wikipedia

so orange is my favorite color and cali poppies are my favorite flower. and goldfish are my favorite animal (but I love birds too <33) I think they're also my dad's fav?? me and my dad are not close his side of the family never came to the usa so he spends most of his time in vietnam taking care of ba noi. goldfish are the only thing I really associate with him bc when he visits us he buys sooo many. he loved to take care of them he bought a tank for his office and a tank for our kitchen and laundry room u get the idea. and he would take me to pick out ones I liked but he only ever bought them from this very indie fish store. it had no employees just the owner and it only took cash honestly idk how he discovered it but he would go almost every weekend. and when he left for vietnam again I would spend so much time sitting in front of the tanks staring though the glass. the memories are kinda hazy but I think I would like.....daydream??? I swear I would see the fish float out of their tanks into the air maybe it was just my overactive kid imagination. I dreamt of them at night too they consumed me. it was like I could always see them in the corner of my eye and I would hear the sound of the tank filters running 24/7. this continued for a while honestly.....and then the lockdown happened while my dad was in vietnam and he couldnt fly home for a while he got stuck there :/ and by the time he got back his little fish store had gone out of business. our house is a lot quieter now

#I really enjoy it when diaspora tales include stuff about the parents #bc like they were the ones that had to leave their lives behind yknow??#my favorite book is trungle's “the magic fish” which I think was released around the time all This was going down lol #and my favorite painting is bill mayer's “the offering”#it was made in 2017 theres no historical significance but it resembles my recurring dreams sooo much!!!!#ask me more about the art I like!!!!! esp surrealist or photo secession stuff hehe

first things first: PDA

Gunil strikes me as a big PDA guy

always holding your hand

leaning his head on your shoulder

wrapping an arm around your waist

not in a super clingy away, just to reassure himself that you’re still here

if that makes sense

I also feel like Gunil would get really jealous- but that’s a story for another time

around his band mates, Gunil doesn’t let up on the affection

again, he’s not clinging to you

he’s just very comfortable with showing affection because he’s in a room with all the people he loves :)

I can picture him wrapping his arms around you from behind as you cook or something?

alone however?

he can get a little clingy

he’s practically flopping down on top of you

Jungsu would like minimal PDA

I believe that Hyeongjun would struggle with verbally telling you he loves you, so he tries to do it in moments like this

then Jooyeon is the PDA prince

there’s just something about the way that Gunil has to physically hold Jooyeon down during interviews that I find endearing?

but that’s also what makes me think he would love PDA!

imagine him holding your hand out in public and just dragging you wherever his heart desires

if you’re holding hands he definitely plays with your fingers

if you’re both in the car or taking public transport he lays his head on your shoulder

I can picture him playing with your hair

twirling it around his fingers, braiding it

he just loves when you do it to him so he needs to do it back!

at the dorm? you can’t get him off of you

he isn’t too bad in front of the others

yes you would cuddle on the couch in front of the others

he would attack you with kisses

surprise you with hugs

but when you’re completely alone?

you’re basically attached at the hip

if you’re sleeping in the same bed he has you pulled right up against him

if he’s practicing the bass he wants you to sit in his lap

if you’re cuddling?

you play with each others hair

he kisses any surface he can reach

he would also like skin to skin contact but not in the way Ode does

he would have a hand on the small of your back under your shirt while he holds you close

he uses it to ground himself, knowing you’re still there as you both inevitably fall asleep

Jooyeon would want to be close to you every moment he can be

Alfred Stieglitz, (born January 1, 1864 - died July 13, 1946), art dealer, publisher, advocate for the Modernist movement in the arts, and, arguably, the most important photographer of his time.

Early in 1902 Stieglitz announced the existence of a new organization called the Photo-Secession, designed to break away from stodgy and conventional ideas. Photo-Secession was dedicated to promoting photography as an art form.

The Above photo is NOT colorized, Stieglitz was a pioneer in the use of the autochrome process, invented in France by Auguste and Louis Lumière. It was the first practicable method of color photography.

This Autochrome was made in the Bavarian resort town of Tutzing, Austria, in the summer of 1907, by either Stieglitz or his young protégé Edward Steichen, or possibly both. Stieglitz was experimenting with the newly invented Autochrome, the first viable and commercially manufactured color process.

Late in 1905, with the encouragement of Steichen, Stieglitz opened the Little Galleries of the Photo-Secession, a name soon shortened to 291, the gallery’s address on lower Fifth Avenue in New York City. During the gallery’s first four years it most often functioned as an exhibition space for the Photo-Secession photographers. By the 1909 season, however, the gallery began to promote progressive art in a variety of media, and the work of painters, sculptors. These exhibitions included the first shows in the United States of the work of Henri Matisse, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Cézanne, and Pablo Picasso. It's also the place where he met his future wife Georgia O'keeffe.

Anne Wardrope Brigman (née Nott; December 3, 1869 – February 8, 1950) was an American photographer and one of the original members of the Photo-Secession movement in America.

Brigman's photographs frequently focused on the female nude, dramatically situated in natural landscapes or trees. Many of her photos were taken in the Sierra Nevada in carefully selected locations and featuring elaborately staged poses. Brigman often featured herself as the subject of her images, such as Soul of the Blasted Pine, for which she received the Birmingham Photographic Society's first silver medal. Many of her other photos used her sister as the nude model.After shooting the photographs, she would extensively touch up the negatives with paints, pencil, or superimposition. Via Wikipedia

Phillip Hua is an artist who lives in San Francisco, he loves loves "stuff" - his mom has forever complained about heaps of things around, but she also thought that their house looked like a natural history museum. Phillip truly appreciates nature and is inventing new techniques to merge the world of technology and finance with eternal natural beauty.

Phillip says, "I create photomontages that interweave images of nature celebrated against a backdrop of stock indexes from financial newspapers. The juxtaposition of nature and commerce places these values vying for attention in the same space. After digitally manipulating composited photos, I create prints that I handwork on rice paper. These prints are then scanned in, reconfigured, then printed with UV cured acrylic ink on Acrylite and backed with a wooden panel gilded in gold metal leaf.."

The founder of the gallery Eden Stein lives in San Francisco and has a current show in her Secession Art & Design Gallery
