See THIS is why I trust the writers because the whole point of the deadline passing was so we could SEE Poseidon surrendering for Percy. The show has given Poseidon a more active and loving role in Percys life. The gods pride would never let them surrender to one another. But Poseidon knew his brother wouldn’t spare his son’s life. And he knew the only thing that would spare his son’s life was him surrendering. ALSO FURTHER CEMENTING THAT PERCY IS HIS FAVORITE CHILD! The writers pens this episode>>>

you know what, the other saving grace for the gods was that Poseidon, as bad as a parent as he is, is still objectively one of the better godly parents to have. Like he did vaguely show care for Percy every couple of years or so, told Percy that he was his favorite kid, and then said that his mom was "a queen amongst women" or something and I think that checked just enough boxes for Percy to make the gods redeemable for him. If Poseidon had treated Percy the way that Hermes treated Luke? Zeus treated Thalia? Athena treated Annabeth? Olympus would've been razed to the ground on Percy's 16th birthday lmao

Ya know, I understand that in HOO, Poseidon/Neptune was both locked on Olympus and driven thoroughly insane by the conflict, and therefore couldn’t do this, but chatting with my boyfriend gave me a fun idea as to how Poseidon could give Percy a blessing similar to the Iron Skin based purely off of being the sea god.

Lobsters do not suffer aging, crustaceans are generally well armored, starfish regenerate, octopi are pretty strong and durable for how flexible they are, and there’s that 1 species of jellyfish that can revert to a younger form at will. Mix it all together and you get “aim for the head and don’t fuckin miss, cause that’s all the chance you get.”

In my personal experience, the decisions you make at 13 years old are very VERY different from the ones you make at 18 years old…

Just saying that for whichever part of the PJO fandom is hating on a teenage protagonist after a book based around his friend was released… Y’know, cuz for some reason y’all just don’t get that… Just saying

If there's one type of PJO fics I love reading is the ones where Percy introduces himself as the son of Sally and Poseidon not the son of Poseidon and Sally. I especially love it when Poseidon is basically still a simp for her and just hypes her up alongside his son.

I also love it when he and Amphithrite don't begrudge each other's affairs and just talk abt whoever has caught their attention, and she knows abt Percy and Sally from the beginning or is mad because Poseidon didn't tell her abt her cute step-son.

once again i am. thinking. about percy jackson and how rough it was for him. not only does he go his whole life struggling with school and everything in general because of his adhd + dyslexia, he also presumably deals with the otherness of not being “normal” because of it.

and then to have it confirmed (it wasn’t the intent, but, still) by a teacher he kind of likes. by a teacher who has taken a liken to percy and wants the best from him. you’re not normal, percy. you don’t belong.

and when he finds somewhere he might, somewhere with people like him? a big family, we take care of each other, yeah? child of the big three. separated into one. avoided for a little while.

to end it all? to have his own father look him in the eyes and say, “i’m sorry you were born.” how absolutely stinging that would’ve been? percy has gone his whole life thus far as a cast out, and is told this.

season 4 is gonna hurt me i fear

Episode 1x05 definitely had the most changes in it but it's also my favorite episode so like I don't have a problem with things being changed from book to TV.

But this episode had the most changes I didn't like.

Lou Ellen is Poseidon's Avox and compared to others she just floats in chocolate.

If his castle glitters with cleanliness, the table is always set at the right time and the cup at the feasts is full of wine, he will not notice the thin children in simple chiton circling around him.

most importantly, He does not find them attractive enough for bed - none of them have sharp poisonous fangs claws scales or something like that, they are too plain for him.

When Lou bit Apollo (only she noticed how his hand slipped under the alabaster chiton), Poseidon meticulously examined her teeth, said they were blunt, and called the other gods flabby simpletons.

LOU ELLEN IS THE BEST GIRL HERE, SHES ALWAYS READY TO THROW HANDS WITH ANYONE WHO TOUCHES HER ONLY SIBLING OR FRIENDS, DOESNT MATTER WHO THE FUCKER IS
