No seriously. At this point I can't even keep track of my pairing list. It also doesn't help that I can practically eat everything that has Nico in it - regardless of... everything else. Jesus Christ.
But since you asked, I gotta try my best. I guess it's also a good chance for me to wrap up my own messy thoughts too---

Eros (Cupid)/Nico: once unhealthily enjoyed making Love-you-like-an-enemy headcanons. Still do.
Erebus & Nico: I wouldn't say this as a ship... unless the term 'platonic ship' exist. I prefer to think of them as... soulmates? What do you call two lonely souls seeking each other's company?
Now to the pairings which I leech from others' content, meaning: consume but yet to contribute

I'm sure this is not all of them... I mean. I have read more. And probably forget a bunch...
I wouldn't say I have a favourite ship... well there're times that I would invest more in a specific pairing, but that doesn't mean I like other ships any less. I have 5 drafts for Jasico and then I have a Nicobaster week and then a Percico-marathon.
Generally speaking though, I would say I usually... prioritize (?) the rarepairs. Since you know, the canon one and the more popular ones alr have people building the empire for them. I might be the only one invested in a Son of Persephone with Nico, for example, so I tend to gravitate towards it, in hopes of contributing a small brick for this little tent compared to their nation; or sometimes it's just because there's someone else more invested in me and their dedication fuels me (yes you @drksanctuary).
Anw I hope this gives you an insight into how wild of a being I am LMAO. I'm a proshipper. I have no qualms when it comes to enjoying fiction - as long as I enjoy it. Be free. Trust me.
As I've said, I forgo everything when it comes to Nico. He's my exception. He's always right. If he's wrong I have a few words to Rick------ jk lol or maybe not---

im gonna do a rambly thing because this is a rambly thing thats been in my brain and its actually sort of coherent and im incapable of shutting up so i want to share it. it also happens to be ace attorney because. ace attorney is running my life rn. but see more for said rambly thing (which will make the above make more sense, probably)
as much as i love the idea of the scene where apollo and klavier first meet, apollo looking at klavier and being Very Queer and klavier being like "ive never been looked at this way by a man before" and also being Very Queer, i dont think thats exactly what it is.
as ive mentioned a tiny little bit in a previous post, kristoph and klavier are nearly identical, and its kind of eerie how similar they actually are. theyre both easy to anger (though kristoph is a little more subtle until his breakdown) and tend to show this by hitting solid objects (wall for klavier, witness stand for kristoph); they have the same hair (which klavier seems to hav copied from kristoph); they both have sprites/animations of moving their hair out of their eyes, though klaviers is more sweet and suave while kristophs is more annoyed and disgruntled; kristoph has a sprite/animation where he kind of flicks his wrist and shakes his head, and klavier snaps his fingers (in the same general area); they both wear purple; they both wear glasses (klaviers sunglasses) with the same shape. the point is that they mirror each other
but, they are also fundamentally DIFFERENT. klaviers style is obviously rock n roll while kristophs is more traditional gentlemanly, and klaviers purple is much darker in comparison to kristophs. when klavier laughs, his head is tilted downward, but when kristoph laughs (in the flashback of what happened after the trial) his head is tilted up. kristoph tends to hold himself while klavier is much more loose. while they both tend to talk down to people, kristoph is more belittling and purposeful while klavier doesnt exactly seem to realize the wwords that are coming out of his mouth and just think hes being cool, yknow, like his brother. but, point is, theres a clear difference between them
you may be saying, "ok man can you just get to your point this is really stupid and youre dragging it on and its really hard to read paragraphs when you type so poorly" and to that i say yeah! i know! just hold on!
when apollo first sees klavier, he is HORRIFIED. a man so similar to his old mentor, the man that was supposed to teach him everything there was to being a defense attorney, the man that he helped send to jail on account of MURDER, appearing out in the open, so free and smiling. apollo is in terror and klavier somehow equates this to "i must look SO fine that this guy is giving me the same look women give me 😏" (which, i dont know what that says about the women he sees but) and completely misinterprets apollo looking him up and down in shock (apollo also literally says "mr. gavin?")
the reason apollo just seems to shit on klaviers person so much is because of how goddamn similar he is to kristoph, and he cant shake the feeling. and i think he recognizes that klavier and kristoph are NOT the same person, that klavier is not the same as kristoph, but he cant change that everywhere he sees klavier, he just sees kristoph in his place. and apollo cant find it in himself to be able to put a little trust in klavier being he just gives him this Icky Feeling.
i dont think apollo WANTS to hate klavier for being klavier either!! in turnabout serenade (i think?), when apollo and trucy go to talk to klavier on the stage, klavier greets them and apollo gives him an awkward "hiya". hes trying to be nice and polite and bypass his flight or fight responses but it comes out strained and uncomfortable. its much easier to say you dont like someone because theyre arrogant and whatever as an excuse than to say that oh my god, they look/act like someone who has made lasting damage/impact on your life. some jealously aspects could come from apollo thinking that klavier has it so easy despite also being horrendously betrayed by someone close to you because klavier just seemed to bounce back just like that.
i dont exactly know where to put this point, but after the first case and kristoph gets sent to prison, klavier literally cannot be lead by kristoph anymore. his brother isnt watching his every move, and he cant use klavier anymore (whether klavier was aware or not). theres just klavier, his own person
but, ok, whatever whatever, whats with the pictures. this one i can summarize easily, actually. in thinking [all of the above], i also thought of what would break the mirage apollo has floating around klavier at all times, and i think that would be something along the lines of klavier doing something that apollo physically cannot imagine kristoph doing as well. in this case, its kneeling down in the mud trying to find his key ring and then getting mud in his hair and being so oblivious to it. kristoph just isnt the type. and i think something like that would give apollo a moment of thought and realization. and then some like rivals to lovers stuff happens idk this post is over

back at it again ranking aa4 lawyers based on how terrible I think they would be to work for if you were their file clerk. I’ve basically known how this was going to go since 4-2 but it still took over two weeks after finishing the game to make this post. I have a normal amount of thoughts & feelings I promise
phoenix: I was gonna say that since he’s not practicing he doesn’t need a file clerk anyway but actually I do think reforming the legal system takes quite a bit of paperwork and he could probably use a hand. still would absolutely not work for him tho. I prefer being compensated for my labor, especially if my boss is always either mysteriously absent or spouting cryptic bullshit. 0/10. not even a pity point this time. rip apollo
apollo: would be fine if he weren’t working for phoenix tbh. like if he had his own office and a slightly more well-established career I would absolutely work for him. he’s considerate, he seems horrified by the state of the WAA which is a green flag Imo, and he’s just. a decent guy and a good lawyer. also he had that line abt enjoying tedious procedure so I think we would get along, and more importantly, that tells me that he would be reasonably neat with his own files and not make my job more difficult either accidentally or on purpose. 7/10 would befriend him on l*nkedin just in case he ever starts his own firm
payne: look, the vibes aren’t great and I’m running out of jokes abt this guy. I will say that I think it’s incredibly funny how thoroughly he gets ignored in his own trial and being able to make fun of your boss with your coworkers (which you would have bc there’s no way there’s just one file clerk for the entire prosecutor’s office, y’know?) is a very important aspect of surviving a shitty workplace so. there’s that. 3/10, could survive it by mocking him but not ideal
klavier: he doesn’t even have a desk. he’s working on at least 3 cases at once but he keeps his cds and his guitars nicer and neater than his books or his case files. there are papers all over his floor and falling out of his filing cabinet. his one advantage over the real attorney I worked with who had an office approximately that messy is that at least klavier probably knows exactly where everything is himself, which is great for him but not especially helpful to the poor beleaguered file clerk trying to get his files updated as quickly as possible so they can escape his office with minimal hearing damage. 6/10, at least he’s like. friendly
kristoph: the best-case situation here is that you work for him for maybe a few years, overlapping with the beginning of apollo’s career as his assistant, because then you have the bonus of also having apollo as a coworker (see above), and then you leave for normal reasons, get him to give you a good reference for your next job while he’s still widely respected, and when you read abt the events of 4-1 in the news a few months later you go “damn that’s wild” and move on with your life
ok. listen. listen. obviously a boss who has committed murder is not ideal, for several obvious reasons including that murder is bad and also that if your boss goes to jail and his law firm closes you no longer have a job (rip apollo). but at least you could probably get unemployment for that, since it’s not your fault you don’t have a job anymore. anyway. the main point is, unfortunately, I do think he would be the best boss of any of these people (except probably apollo in a few years). he prob has a very specific filing system and he likes things to be done exactly right, but because he wants things to be done right, because having your files organized and up-to-date so that you can meet deadlines is how you avoid making yourself look like an idiot to the courts, it will be made very clear to you what the right way is, and that’s like. what you want when you’re organizing someone’s shit Imo. 8.5/10, he gets .5 taken off for each murder attempt

(My sad, silly and ultimately pointless thoughts of the PJO-calypse for the Greek/mythology/Hellenic tags: it's going to suck rotten eggs to have a bunch of coffeeshop AUs, artwork, posts and gods forbid basic posts of your gods and not knowing if it's fun creative things someone came up with or it's purely because of Percy Jackson.)
(it's going to be like how the Apollo tags are LITTERED with Lore Olympus hate posts of Apollo and you rarely see some good Apollo posts because guess wut somehow people get lazy and don't read up on the original myth so they chose to read LO to be a "bAsIc IdEa" and end up getting a completely wrong notion of Greek mythology)
(Percy Jackson isn't personally in my opinion a bad representation of Greek mythology, it takes a really fun concept and makes it into an interesting introspective....but the idea of the gods just randomly having children displacefully and having them gather around a camp sounds like you made the gods out to sex crazy sluts or something and in spite of my lack of worship for Athena, you guys can't seriously convince me she went around having a few kids like that's a GRIEVOUS misinterpretation of Athena like wut the hell)
(it's weird because I'm not INTO Percy Jackson's critiques of the gods but at the same time I can understand why someone loves this series and I respect that.)
(but here's my deal that made me feel like this is going to unhelpfully flood the tags...yes I understand blacklisting exists but let me remind you there's a massive difference between "Percy Jackson" and "Percy J@ckson" get Tumblr wouldn't tell the difference between them because of 1 key.)
(anyway here's a semi related story: I was a universal studios and I was wearing a Greek amphora mask while waiting in line and a girl walked up to me with such enthusiasm asking if I was into Percy Jackson. I politely told her no and told her I was into Greek mythology, not the Percy Jackson. The look of confusion, sadness and out right disappointment was way too silly for me to forget topped off with a sadden soulful "oh". We stayed silent for the rest of the wait. But she literally couldn't have expected me to say that. It's weird because it feels like I shut her down not being into PJO even though in a way it's relevantly the same topic...it just wasn't her thing. It was odd because if I was wearing ANYTHING else she wouldn't have talked to me ....so basically anything Greek/Greek mythology related is just something Percy Jackson related in her mind....which is fine I'm not judging her for that because for a time when I was her age everything Japanese was Naruto related in my middle school to high school brain...later in life iv learned to step away from that learn there's a massive difference between a pop culture inspired work and a cultural/historical context. )
(keep in mind I'm almost 30 at this point and she was probably like in her late teens and the difference of maturity is 100% a factor here.)
(it's just shocked me because I felt to a very weird extent i offended her? At least that's how I felt and it makes me a little bit sad because "well shit she probably was looking for a friend who liked the same thing." situation. It's like asking someone "you like coke" and you respond "no I like Pepsi" and the reaction is met with awkwardness instead of mutual "oh ok then". It felt weird as hell and I can't fathom why)
(anyway I'm mentioning this because when Disney+ is going to release PJO and there's a good as chance most of the Hellenic blogs are going to have an influc of very confused fans. Mostly because there's a small chance of them actually want to expand further and learn about the original content but most likely the fans will stay with what makes them comfortable.)
(so. Just remember, if someone sends a very rude post talking about a god in a negative light and it mainly stems from PJO.... just ignore them. They'll learn later. If they decide to be a dick about it...block them....if you end up in a long on going argument with someone only to find out they're talking about Percy Jackson....call them an olive pit, block them and be on your marry way.)

Saw someone's tags on a post that was about "stop headcanoning womanizing men who literally only sleep with women as bi" and I'm like. Ok. Fine I guess. I think that it's a tiny bit bullshit because as long as that's not your ONLY type of bi headcanon it's fine. Like. If you have 3 guy characters you headcanon as bi and they're ALL like that and you don't headcanon anyone else as bi that's a bit sus you know.
But I also saw someone in the notes try to make the same point in reverse????? That we shouldn't make pathetic guys bi just because you like them????? Because it implies that being bi makes you pathetic/less of a man??? And I'm just over here like. Deep breath. As someone who is in fact bi and does headcanon a lot of pathetic men as bi it's NOT because I see them as lesser males. Like. Like Seymour from little shop of horrors. I don't think he's less of a man, I just think that he'd be kinda into dudes as well. And like. Im not exclusively headcanoning pathetic men as bi. There are some gay pathetic men (Apollo Justice) there are some bi men who are not pathetic (matt, Daryan, and Klavier). I'm sure there's even some straight pathetic guys although I can't think of them rn. I'm not saying I headcanon a pathetic guy specifically as bi because they're pathetic.
Also the argument being stated is anti "because you like them"????? Like buddy if I want to project my sexuality onto a poor little meow meow you should let me.
I don't want to get into discourse on the original post, but literally it's just like... You could easily apply this to other sexualities too??? Like if you make a pathetic guy gay/trans/pan or something then you're seeing them as less of a man? Which can be obviously false to some people. I mean, I'm sure that some people do it but especially if you're projecting your own sexuality/gender experience onto a character you're not really going to see them as "lesser"
What if we applied this to women? Like "tomboy character can't be bi because that means you see her as less of a woman". It's baffling.
Like. Is there only one type of guy we're allowed to headcanon as bi? If we can't have the womanizing sex guys and we can't have our fruity and pathetic guys... Then what.
Any type of guy can be bi! Newsflash! And while if all of your bi headcanons fall onto one category of person that might say something about YOU, that doesn't mean that the idea of having any type of guy be bi is wrong!

Where do we go now (But This Is Ruin chapter 3)
On one of the last days where the outdoors archery range will be open, there are only three students there, practicing in silence. It is a patch of browning grass right by a meadow. Colorful targets are layed over soft, light wood. The sky is grey, and it's starting to rain, but not enough to justify pulling out an umbrella.
Athena misses her first shot. Artemis only hits the outer ring, so does Apollo. The silence is waiting for someone to talk. Apollo is the first one to break.
"This is shit, right? We can agree that this sucks?"
Athena releases her arrow. It hits near the bullseye.
"I mean it's true," Apollo continues. "Shit was fine. Great even. And now it's fucked."
"It's not fucked." Artemis interjects.
"Yes it is!"
"No it's not." she insists.
"Does Aphrodite know you're hanging out with us?" Apollo accuses.
Artemis says nothing.
"Why are you hiding it from her?"
Artemis releases an other arrow. It goes wild and hits the pannel of wood behind the target. She lowers her bow and shakes her hair free of her braid.
"I don't know, ok? It's weird."
"Yeah, that's what I was saying! We had a nice thing going!"
Athena releases her arrow and hits shy off the bullseye again.
"The situation is complexe. Taking sides is the right thing to do."
"It doesn't feel like it!" Apollo protests.
"Think about the alternative," Athena conters. "Imagine if all of us had insisted on staying neutral."
"I don't do neutral," Artemis interjects. Athena ignores her.
"We would just be in a strange stalemate where no one aknowledges things have changed. I am not forcing Hephaestus to hang out with Aphrodite to protect my own feelings. No matter how much I like Aphrodite."
Apollo nods, conceeding to Athena's point.
Apollo shoots his first arrow as the girls refill their quivers and hits the red ring.
"So what now?" Artemis asks.
She has her usual stone face, but Apollo knows her too well and Athena is too clever ; they hear the break in her voice.
Both of the twins turn towards Athena.
"Well, we will still have soccer. So that settles it for the three of us."
"And Ares," Apollo adds. When Artemis gives him a side eye, he adds, "He did nothing wrong. He doesn't even want to make a move on Tee. Hephaestus broke up with Aphrodite and Aphrodite did whatever Athena is not telling us, but don't you dare blame Ares. He did nothing but transfer here because he got the scolarship. Do not," Apollo warns when Artemis goes to argue.
"He is right," Athena adds. "Ares is in it against his will. He does not deserve to be thought of as a point of contension, especially when he is doing everything not to be."
Artemis shows her teeth. "Hephaestus is ok with your soft spot?"
Athena's facial muscles relax as she releases an arrow that flies right into the center of the target, her version of a smile. "Do not be mistaken. Hephaestus adores him."
"*WHAT?*" Apollo chokes, giving up on drawing his bow.
Athena refuses to elaborate, and shoots two other near perfect shots.
"So like, what," Artemis asks. "We just settle on Ares did nothing wrong and we only hang out at soccer practice, now?"
Under her detached exterior, Apollo expects fury, at losing the argument. But she sounds panicked. He puts a hand on his sister's shoulder and looks at Athena. She nods, understanding his silent message.
"Let's see the situation as it is," she puts her bow down and kneels. "Hephaestus hurt Aphrodite's feelings by breaking up with her. Aphrodite hurt Hephaestus's feelings."
"Why won't you tell us why he did it?" Artemis interrupts, her usual irritation creeping back into her demeanor.
"Would it matter?"
"Yeah, one hundred per cent!" Artemis lies.
Athena nods. If she sees through it she does not say anything.
"Aphrodite benefits from a presumption of innocence he is not offered. I will not give you his reasoning for you to pick through and find any reasons to say he is wrong. No one will defend him the way you defend Aphrodite, so I won't put him in a position where he has to defend himself. You cannot say his reasons are bad and wrong if you don't know them."
Artemis rubs her foot into the ground like a boar preparing to charge, sighs loudly but does not say or do anything more. Athena goes back to where she was effortlessly.
"They hurt each other. Ares is a cause of tension, we cannot deny it," she speaks over Apollo when he tries to protest. "It is not his fault, but especially if he dates Aphrodite, he makes the situation more complicated. And we each have a favorite one in the situation, and everyone is aware of it."
"Yeah but what do we *do*," Artemis asks, getting antsy.
Athena ponders longer than the twins expect her to, especially given her response.
"Nothing. We wait it out. Aphrodite and Hephaestus are not childish enough to be offended we still like each other. Ares is, I assume, blissfully oblivious. We have to wait for the situation to move."
The twins groan in unisson.
"I know it is not ideal, but there is not exactly anything for us to actually do."
Artemis shoots an arrow that plants in the grass in front of the target. "How bad is it if Tee and Ares date? For Hephaestus?"
Athena looks up and thinks, before saying, "I am not sure. I don't think he would feel *great* about it, but he didn't break up with her because of Ares. He will be upset the regular amount."
Apollo chuckles. "What on earth is that supposed to mean?"
"The fact that it is Ares will not factor in nearly as much as you think it will," Athena explains, not catching the rethorical tone of the question. Apollo looks at her impressed, as she manages to be helpful anyway.
It starts to properly rain. Artemis swears and rushes to get the targets inside. Athena follows her to gather the arrows, the hood of her jacket pulled tight over her head. Apollo pulls an apple out of his bag, and lets them clean the archery range.

at some point in time i have to rewatch aa6/soj because i only.. remember.. the last case.
aa5/aa6 rambling under the cut-- I have SOOO many incoherent thoughts about these 2 games.
starting off with AA6/SoJ... I only remember the last case, which sucks bc you had Trucy's case and Athena/Simon team up!! i remember NOTHING about the latter and only remember the former because Trucy's brave face cracks and it hurts so bad!!
soj did a good job of FINALLY giving Apollo some solid recognition. even when Phoenix is there, he isn't blasted forward into the spotlight like dd and aa4 did. this is the element they were missing in aa4 and aa5, and it's so satisfying to see that they could make it happen. it's just unfortunate that it happens so late.
I definitely have a lot of critiques about soj and dd-- they both performed well in some aspects but fell thru in others. aa5/dd did a MUCH better job of story telling and memorable cases, in my opinion. not to say they were all good cases, but i recall them more easily than aa6/soj, a game i just finished 2 days ago.
aa6/soj did a great job with giving their characters (ok, mostly Apollo, Phoenix, Rayfa and Dhurke) their own time to shine and find a good balance of when to use which characters. it was fresh perspective. but when they fell flat with this (obvious example being Nahyuta; could argue Athena as well, despite her having her own case without the two) it was suuuper disappointing and frustrating.
I'm honestly really upset at how empty they made Nahyuta's character. Even with his motives later revealed and how the game ended, I don't feel like I understand him at all. Him finally standing up for himself falls flat; Rayfa's is definitely way more rewarding to watch. They did great with her storytelling and greatly neglected utilizing Nahyuta.
Aa6's ending makes sense but it doesn't necessarily feel... completely satisfying? It does a good job of "ending" Apollo's story but it feels really... weird. Nahyuta asking Apollo to stay just feels like it comes completely outta nowhere and it doesn't hit like it should. It also feels rushed, kind of like a last minute decision? Sure, it makes you interested, but coming from Nahyuta... I don't know. Like I said, how Nahyuta's character was executed is really disappointing. I want to like him-- his design is cool (aside from the blatant whitewashing) and his base backstory IS interesting! They just... don't do shit with him until the very end. Even when it's revealed him and Apollo have past ties in the 3rd case, it?? Again, sure it's interesting, but with how Nahyuta is hard to connect with, it just... is a surprise but you move on pretty fine from it. Sure, I wanted to know their backstory-- that's the point of the game, one of them at least-- but I wasn't as anxious to know as I should have been.
Another thing about the ending-- I respect Apollo's decision but I really wonder if he had known about Trucy, if it would have been a bigger struggle to make a decision, especially by the next day. You can feel that he thought over the decision almost all night, which is good. Nevertheless, I think his decision would have hit much harder if he knew about Trucy. In my mind, it was like he was 'leaving' (using that very lightly; he would keep in contact) one family for another that we didn't get the greatest chance to connect with. If anything, you get intrigued on how Apollo and Rayfa will evolve, but Nahyuta and Apollo-- the ones who HAVE the prior history? I didn't feel any interest at all. This is a roundabout way of saying, if he and Trucy knew when he made his decision, it would have hit a lot harder. I think it was a missed opportunity.
I'm surprised they were still able to make Apollo's ending still feel satisfying enough; he's off on his own, he's going to take what he's learned and pass down his teachings onto others while he STILL learns himself! It's great! He's come so far to where he can hold his own ground and it's satisfying to witness, especially through the blunders he had to endure from aa4-aa6.
aa5/dd.. imo, had more interesting cases than aa6. the overall plot they held was GREAT! learning about Athena and Simon's backstories is SOOO interesting and the reveals have real IMPACT. SO GOOD. And when you find out who the real antagonist is!! I've heard that people have gripes about it, but I personally think it's FUN! IT FUCKS WITH YOU!! IT'S A MEMORABLE REVEAL!! Not to mention that dd broke the terrible 3rd case curse with Turnabout Academy! That is SUCH a fun case!!
Its major flaw is struggling to balance the defense team (especially with Apollo-- he also had backstory in this game, but they shove him away in the background of his own backstory reveal. We should have been able to investigate as Apollo when he went on leave!!)
Side tangent-- I haven't watched an aai2 playthru yet but I know generally that Edgeworth gives up his badge because being a prosecutor restricts him from getting information, despite the advantage it should give him. He quits the legal system to be able to FREELY investigate what he wasn't able to before, and I think that's a very INTERESTING plot. With that being said, they could have EASILY done the same for Apollo, and I think it woukd have been doubly fun! Apollo and Edgeworth operate differently, which is why this plot point being used a second time wouldn't have gotten old or felt overused!
Tangent done-- but yeah, "balancing" (aka shoving Phoenix in the front yet again, despite Athena's debut) the defense team was poorly executed. To give credit, Athena is given enough time for us to learn her personality and become connected with her! (Even if you put aside learning about her backstory, you still get to know her well!) She's fun, her motives for getting into law are interesting, her mechanic is an interesting take, and her backstory HITS. Her AND Simon's! They had a great debut.
Despite this, though, Phoenix (who I love dearly) gets the lead way too much. In this game, they failed to place him more in a mentor role (I know the game didn't really intend for him to take the backseat, but I think it should have). As a result, sometimes, Athena and Apollo's presences don't get to hit as much or get completely drowned out. It was the first time I REALLY wanted Phoenix to just. Not. be in the game. Getting annoyed of the series' titular character is very disheartening to experience. But that's just how bad the balancing act was handled! You don't get to feel the full impact of Apollo pulling away and being distant towards Athena; you don't get to fully grasp how important Clay was to Apollo (dgmw, you understand he was important to Apollo, but their backstory is explained too quickly and what you do learn about them somehow doesn't feel like enough. I think how they handled the conflict between Apollo and Dhurke is what they should have aimed for with Apollo and Clay's backstory). Despite him having stakes in the plot, Apollo was poorly utilized. It's fun to see his angsty side though! Hard but fun.
Also... Phoenix being underwhelmed when Trucy gets taken hostage??? What was that? That was really disappointing, especially since he had so much focus on him. You get a general "Oh no! Trucy! I hope she's okay..." But?? That's your DAUGHTER! Some of the writing choices make you feel a disconnect with the characters, especially in moments like this.
Anyways! Now I'm too sleepy and lost my train of thought. It's 5am after all! Gnight!

7 Anti LO Asks
1. Do you know what really gets my blood boiling about this comic? Persephone and Demeter's relationship.
In the myths, Demeter and Persephone loved each other more than anything. Their reunion is so important - it marked the coming of spring and growth. A whole cult was dedicated to this for crying out loud. Yes, the myths were far from perfect, but the Persephone and Demeter myth showed the strength of a loving mother-daughter relationship with Demeter searching endlessly to find her child that was ripped away and had her innocence forcibly taken.
Now, RS is not the only author to make Demeter this over-bearing mother type in order to put more positivity onto the Hades-Persephone relationship. However, RS takes this trend to a whole new level - to the point where I would even consider it misogyny.
How is it, she takes this beautiful mother-daughter relationship and makes it out to be an abusive and controlling one, and then takes the Hades-Persephone relationship from a forceful one to a loving, perfect relationship with no problems? How is it ok to ruin one relationship to elevate another?
I understand that many versions of the myth try to downplay Hades' actions, and even make it so Persephone actually falls in love with him and there is no rape. But it doesn't change that this relationship was problematic, and meant to represent the loss of innocence.
Then fans have the gall to claim this comic is feminist and then claim on top of that that Demeter and Persephone's relationship was the same in the myth? These fans clearly don't know the myths, and neither does RS.
Making Hades a good person is fine. Changing it up a bit to make Persephone's loss of innocence something else is also fine. But ruining Demeter and Persephone's relationship? Especially when Persephone has to spend half the year with her? So horrible.
2. im sorry, but rachel cant introduce KRONOS coming back and then dropping it for several episodes to focus on a stake-less trail and persephone not knowing what lingerie to seduce hades in. like thats too much of an earth shaking development and huge stake plot point to just ignore for months to focus instead on something as minor as hxp's relationship, which only points out a huge flaw: why is hxp's relationship so minor in this? isnt the whole point supposed to be about them?
3. I think LO completely dropped the ball over Hades’ characterization.
From the first ep I thought ok, this is good, we have some bones to see he’s not that lucky in love and is just tired and lonely, and while ignoring the creepy actions towards Persephone, I thought ok, Artemis hates him, Hestia hates, even Ares hates him, maybe once Persephone finally sees the underworld and probably gets to know him it’ll be a clever twist and they’ll be proven wrong. The underworld will turn out to be fair and just, the citizens will love Hades, he’ll be revealed to be a good leader and king and not like his brothers, it’ll be like everyone saying Hades of myth isn’t actually that bad, and it’ll help reinforce why this sweet and bubbly Persephone wants him, she sees the real him, not the mean rumors and assumptions, this is perfect.
And then it just didn’t happen. The exact opposite happened, actually.
We’re shown the LO underworld is cruel and unjust, where the poor dead are forced into slavery and Hades created a harsh class divide with him and him only on top, the citizens hate him, the underworld gods don’t trust him and openly seem ok if he’s taken out of power, he’s not a good leader and king and doesn’t even want the job yet keeps it for his own ego and grip of power m, and on top of it all he is just like his brothers, if not worse. He loves to get violent over any little slight against him, he hoards wealth and resources to enrich himself while his citizens starve and struggle to survive, he’s corrupt, he controls all the media and laws to bend to his will, sleeps with his brothers wife for centuries behind his back while claiming to be holier than thou, he has sex with his secretaries who are made dependent on him for any way to survive, and now he lusts after his barely legal intern who is also now dependent on him for her way to survive, and that’s only what I remember off the top of my head.
LO perfectly set up to prove Hades isn’t the devil or the false pop culture assumption that he’s evil and to show some actual facts from myth, and yet Rachel only ended up reinforcing exactly that and even making him even worse with her made up ideas, all while thinking having Persephone ignore or excuse it somehow makes it not bad or even a good thing. It’s honestly kind of impressive just how bad of writing that actually is.
4. Chapter 172 is not that interesting. It’s setup had me excited to see Hephaestus and Hera and learning more about echo, but it’s cut so short. Because again the story can’t leave HXP out for 2 seconds.
I can also see why Zeus is gonna go insane.
5. i agree w/ other anon. LO should have pulled a PJO or a BoZ and just made up OCs and have them interact with the gods than whatever Rachel thinks shes doing, which is lying she's being accurate and faithful while completely changing all of it, removing what is needed, and adding what isnt so that it lines up with no actual myth besides like, various 50 shades fanfic she read in 2015 and some popular tumblr text posts.
6 . the animation studio behind blood of zeus literally can only draw one face for the men and one face for the women and they were still able to make the gods all look distinct and hot while LO can't even bother to use more than 6 colors and can only have the women look as tiny as possible with the biggest boobs while the men are all just lego men.

Okay so like I stopped reading LO way back before season 1 ended, and a majority of my knowledge of the series comes from what I read here on your blog which is enough for me lol and I decided to read the latest 5 chapters just to see what's up (on zahard. I refuse to give the actual series any views)
And I just. Could not take the whole scene with Daphne running from Apollo seriously? The anatomy and art inconsistency was so distracting that i genuinely could not find it serious. Even when Thanatos discovers her hibernated body I couldn't take it seriously because of how she looked?
And when Hades had that call (??? Was it a call? Or his inner dialogue? I couldn't really tell ngl) with Zeus and said he's causing Persephone unnecessary distress, and that she didn't pose any threat. B!tch??? She killed a ton of mortals??? She has no control over her powers???? She's literally a fugitive for the aforementioned things??? She apparently woke Kronos up? (Idk if anyone knows about that, again my knowledge only spans to whatever I read here) Hello????
And I have a lot to say about the chapters starting the trial but I'll only mention one thing; Hades saying "I don't think blindly supporting my little brother would be doing him any favours (as a ruler)" had me cackling. This is coming from a guy blindly supporting a girl he's literally only known for a few weeks, who's like what, only recently turned 20? Sit tf down Hades you're not cool, you creepy ass overgrown smurf.
Overall I still hate this series lmao. Regarding art though I feel like I wouldn't be so miffed about the anatomy much if the character designs were consistent and the story was compelling. They literally change hairstyles and body types frame by frame, and it's distracting.
The timeline from what I read here is laughable. 4 years in publication with almost 200 chapters and you're telling me only like a month has passed canonically. That's wild and such poor writing.
And as someone who literally will sympathise with any lead character pretty quickly, the story makes me hate them. It makes me want to root against them. I also hate the fact this trash is somehow top ranked on webtoons when so many other stories are far better then it.

HoH “Senate Meeting” part 2- Octavian
Reyna and Octavian discussion about Reyna going after the Athena Parthenos in this rewrite happens in the day after Rachel went to talk to them, in private.
Just to make things clear the reason Reyna doesn't want Octavian to "have" Ella is because of my headcanon that she overheard Octavian and Apollo talking about overthrowing Jupiter and she thought the Sybilline books were necessary to their plan. And well Reyna is against that plan.

And finally, this is my worst rewrite until now, so I'm sorry.

Octavian didn't remember last night's meeting pretty well. He must have been more exhausted than he realized. However there was one clear thing in his memory, and it was Ella. Reyna let her escape again.
Octavian started strangling the stuffed animal he was holding. One of the most important books for the Romans, the books Octavian had been looking after for years, and Reyna just let them go. Twice.
He was more than ready to scream at her about this, but then Reyna entered the room with a somewhat defeated look.
"You look horrible Octavian." Reyna said softly "And that is after an entire night of sleep. I really don't know how you were able to stay awake during the entire meeting yesterday."
The minutes of silence that followed Reyna's statement were awkward.
"Me neither."
Reyna smiled sloppy. She sat down and sighed. She also didn't look very well.
"What are we going to do about the Athena Parthenos?"
"Ella"
"Tav" Reyna sounded almost desperate "Can't we discuss that later? We are at a war. I cannot deal with Ella at the same time. Please, let's talk about it later."
Reyna starred Octavian who opened his mouth but said nothing. He ended up breaking eye contact, he passed his hand through his hair.
"Fine. Fine."
"Thank you. And I'm sorry."
"I... it is okay. Do you still have the letter?"
Reyna looked surprised.
"Yeah. Of course. Here it is."
Octavian had forgotten how absurd the letter was. It was so ridiculous. A demigod in the Tartarus writing a letter... and this letter being about the Greek demigod asking a Roman demigod to be the one to stop the war.
"She is kidding right?"
Octavian scoffed.
"The letter seemed very serious to me, Tav"
"Reyna, this is simply ludicrous! They attacked us. If anyone needs to be the one to be responsible for the peace it is them. The audacity that she has to put that responsibility on you, when this is all on them-"
"Well, Tav, to be fair we are the ones crossing a country to start a war."
At this point Octavian was already walking around the room.
"Because they fired at our camp during a peaceful meeting!! Besides, they already showed how untrustworthy they are!!"
The fact Reyna was so calm during the conversation only made Octavian get angrier. It almost looked like she didn't take the matter seriously or didn't understand how horrible the Greek actions had been.
"Rachel didn't lie yesterday. She said she believes Annabeth and that she saw me with the Athena Parthenos."
Octavian blinked surprised. He didn't remember anything about Rachel's vision.
"Well... just because she believes Annabeth it doesn't mean Annabeth is reliable. And as far as we know you with the Athena Parthenos could mean anything. Maybe she saw you with it as our camp was destroyed by the Greeks. You don't know!!!"
"Tav-"
"It is just crazy to me that you want to go to the Forbidden Lands because of a letter written by a girl that betrayed us and a questionable vision that the Greek oracle had!!"
Reyna stayed quiet.
"What do your prophetic powers have to say about it?"
"What?"
"You heard me, Tav. Look into the auguries and tell me what you see."
Octavian side-eyed Reyna.
"Ok, but this might take some time. You never know how many teddy bears you will need to find something."
"That's fine. I can wait. I'm going to start working then."
"Can you ask Michael to come here?"
Reyna opened a small smile. Octavian didn't know what that smile meant.
"Yes, I can ask Michael to come here."
While grabbing stuffed animals to try to find a prophecy or some light to Reyna, Octavian felt part of his bravery go away. He knew he didn't have anything to worry about. Apollo, the god of prophecies was at his side... But he had a history of not being lucky. At least with Mike there he would be calmer.
When Mike got in the room, Octavina already had a pile of open stuffed animals on the floor. Mike didn't say a thing, but Octavian almost immediately became less tense. He could feel more in control.
But then he saw the prophecy and his hands started shaking... prophecies almost never meant what you thought. Apollo was still at his side. Everything would be okay. He wouldn't lose Reyna to the Greeks too.
"Say to Reyna that I got a prophecy"
His voice was weaker than he would have liked. But he didn't bother so much, since Mike was the only one there.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm as fine as I can be"
Mike rolled his eyes with the vague answer and went to call Reyna. Octavian didn't know how much time it took for them to arrive. His mind was too busy, thinking about his plans with Apollo, about the Greeks, the whole mess with the gods. He was sure that when Apollo told him he would be the savior of Rome, he was talking about this situation. There was no way the prophecy would mean what he thought.
"So, what did you get?"
The unexpected sound scared Octavian. He needed a moment to recompose himself. He clearly his throat and said the prophecy:
"A Roman child of a war god
Must travel to the ancient land
A long dangerous trod
They must work hand in hand
With a defying deity Child
They must withstand the journey
Or sink in the wild"
Reyna stayed quiet for a while. And then she looked at Octavian with a weird expression.
"Well, that is it. I'm going. Michael, go tell Marcus I need Scipio ready now."
Michael looked at Octavian with an expression of worry and then went to do what he was ordered. Octavian was in shock. It took a minute to react.
"Reyna!" he was basically crying "You can't go!!"
"Tav, the prophecy..."
"You don't know what it means!!! You never know what prophecy means!! And who said the Roman child of a war god is you?! It could be Frank!!"
"Octavian" Reyna's voice sounded tired but harsh. "You were looking for a prophecy for me, and that's what you got. I don't see why you want to argue-"
"You know my powers don't always work like that!! Besides this can be that oracle manipulating my powers!! You cannot go to Reyna!!"
They were already out of the private room. The legion could see and hear their discussion.
"Octavian, please."
"Reyna!! We are at war!! They just want to distract us, to make us lose our leader. If you go to the ancient lands you are breaking a sacred law!! Reyna, please, don't go!! Please!!"
Reyna saw the stables and sighed. She closed her eyes letting the weight of her decision sink. Then she opened her eyes, and it was like all the exhaustion and doubt was gone.
"The Greeks will not be attacked while I'm gone. Keep the position and continue watching them. Get all the allies you can get. But do not attack the Greeks."
And to everyone's surprise she hugged Octavian.
"I'm gonna be back really quick, and then we will all laugh about this"
She whispered in his ear. Octavian hugged her back, not believing in what was happening.
"Reyna, it is too dangerous. You can die."
"I'm a demigod, Tav. I can die everyday."
"It is very different and you know that. You said it yourself to the Greeks."
"I need to go, Tav. But I'm coming back and everything is gonna be okay. You'll see."
Reyna hugged Octavian tightly for a moment as a way to say goodbye and then stopped the hug. She opened a little and sad smile to Octavian, and then looked to the rest of the legion with confidence.
"The augur is the leader of the legion in the absence of the praetors, but you all listened to my orders"
Before Octavian could say anything she was already gone. He couldn't believe it. The Greeks took Reyna away from him too. He wanted to cry so badly.
Octavian looked to Michael, he needed some support now.
"Get all the officials senators. As soon as Reyna goes away in this stupid mission, we are having a meeting"

Ares: *quickly shape shifts into a wild boar and dashes out of there*
Artimes: *turns around because now Ares has triggered her predatory instincts* Gotcha you little bitch. *Points and half of her huntresses go after Ares while he screams in the distance*
Apollo, Hermes: *turns pale*

Hermes: I'm pretty certain that wasn't the intention.
Artimes: *sneaks up to Apollo's face* I'll give five seconds to leave*

Dionysus: *stretchs his arms upwards* well, I guess I can stay considering in MY case I live nearby.
Artimes: *walks up to him and pulls a few chest and armpit hairs right off of him*

Ares: *in the distance* OH GODS HELP ME THEY FIGHT DIRTY!!!!
Apollo: Sorry! *Starts running away*
Hermes: YOURE ON YOUR OWN! *fallows shortly after*

Artimes: *feeling like she's let them off without a warning*

Zeus: *walks into the trown room and sees a stag, a boar with a bunch of bandages wrapped around him, a rabbit and a big shaggy black bear* .....*deep sigh* not again.

Apollo: *stag, ear twitches* This is Artimes's fault. Please sent her to Hera and have her EXCONSECRATED.
Zeus: Not if you boys started it first. You know it matters a lot.
Ares: *Stuck as a boar for a few days* kinda just really bummed out* my back hurts.
Hermes: *as a rabbit, scratches his ears* well, can you change us back?

can you expand on the canon and fanon ableism in solangelo? I sort of picked up on the infantilisation of nico (hes dealing with ptsd and i guess chronic fatigue, hes not a baby) but i always thought that was handled better in canon than in fanon? But then i havent read ToN i admit
Sure! I don’t know that I’m the best person to ask this because while I am disabled, I’m still unlearning a lot of ableism myself. But I’ll try my best to explain! Maybe some people could recommend some good posts about this if they know any?
Infantilizing—like you mentioned, this is one of the biggest problems with ableism in the fandom. There isn’t much of this in canon, but in fanon Nico’s often characterized as helpless and he’s not taken seriously. Will often plays the role of caretaker rather than boyfriend to an infantilized Nico, which creates an inherent and unhealthy power imbalance.
Will being portrayed as a savior—a common and dangerous trope in romance is that one character is saved by the love of another. It’s especially damaging when the character being saved has mental health problems or physical disabilities. I think most people realize nowadays that this isn’t okay, but you’ll still occasionally see things that portray Will as a savior. Nico entering a relationship because he’s healing and accepting himself is great! But Nico being saved by a relationship? Bad.
Victim blaming—honestly most characters who interact with Nico in canon engage in some level of victim blaming, but by far the worst one was Will (aside from like. Hades and Minos.) In BoO, Will went on an entire rant telling Nico that he was responsible for his own problems and that he manufactured his own abandonment by pushing people away, when really, Nico was the victim of bullying, rejection, abuse, and serious mental health problems—and he already blamed himself for all that so Will’s rant only would have made him feel more invalidated. Later books definitely pulled back on the victim blaming, but it was such a prevalent part of the foundation of their relationship that it’s been ingrained in the ship. It shows a severe and dangerous misunderstanding of mental health on the part of both Riordan and the fandom.
Will being Nico’s healthcare provider—What makes Will being portrayed as a savior even worse is the fact that Will is a healer. Doctors shouldn’t date their patients. Much like the caretaker issue I mentioned above, it creates a power imbalance which is usually satisfied because the doctor is paid for doing their job, but things get messy when any kind of personal relationship is involved. Will should not be in charge of Nico’s medical care. Of course he can act as Nico’s healer in emergencies, but Nico’s primary medical care provider should be someone else. If Will acts as Nico’s medical care provider out of necessity (eg, because he’s the only healer at camp halfblood), then they need to set up clear boundaries and rules. Will being Nico’s doctor should never be spun as a good thing.
Will abusing his authority as a medical care provider—most notably the “doctor’s orders” and “doctor’s note” scenes. Will was extremely overbearing in BoO, from forbidding Nico from using his powers to ordering him to stay in the infirmary, and that kind of pushiness isn’t okay. He was abusing his power, doubting Nico’s judgement and capabilities, and denying Nico’s right to make his own decisions (again, infantilizing). Disabled people’s agency is often denied and autonomy is so important. Nico should have been allowed to make the choice to stay in the infirmary on his own (or not to stay, or to follow through with his plan to leave chb; he should have had the freedom to make those choices, too), and frankly, it would have been a much more powerful ending to Nico’s pov if he had. He should have chosen to go to the infirmary because he decided he wanted to get better, not because he wanted to be around Will (see previous point about Will being portrayed as a savior) (although it would have been fine if Nico thought of Will as an added bonus). I said in the previous post that Will writing a doctor’s note to allow Nico to sit at the Apollo table doesn’t bother me, but that’s because I imagine that situation being like, Nico was denied accommodations so Will and Nico hatched a plan together to use what little leverage they have to get adults to listen to Nico’s needs and take him seriously, but both of them fully understood that Will should not act as Nico’s doctor again unless there were serious medical reasons. Other people interpret that scene as Will abusing his power as the head medic to sit next to his boyfriend. And I’m not saying that my interpretation of that scene is necessarily the correct one, just that I don’t interpret it as Will being ableist.
Nico faking his disability to get things—I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone bring this point up, but it’s something that really bothers me. The ableism regarding the “doctor’s note” for me isn’t the scene itself, but when the fandom portrays Will and Nico constantly using the doctor’s note excuse to get what they want, often having Nico fake some sort of symptom. Besides the abuse of power I mentioned before, promoting the idea that disabled people fake disabilities to get certain privileges is not okay. This is the sort of thinking that leads to stereotyping disabled people as lazy and it’s so prevalent that it makes a lot of disabled people wonder if they’re really disabled or if they’re making it all up (which ties in with the victim blaming point again).
Sometimes I agree that canon Solanagelo is less ableist than fanon, but sometimes fans do a better job than Riordan. It really just depends. I definitely think that both Riordan and the fandom have gotten better though! Will’s character and his relationship with Nico was very different in ToN than it was in previous books (different for the better but also to the point of inconsistency, but that’s a different critique). There were a lot of things in ToN that made it clear that Riordan was listening to the responses of disabled people. Some fans seem to be listening, too. There’s still rampant ableism in the fandom, but people are getting better at responding to criticism and realizing that a lot of tropes that used to be popular just aren’t ok.
