Angel Please?
Tumblr media
Nia Menalcan x Satis Pulchra ft. Baby Imani
Word count ↪ 370 wds
Author’s note ↪ This is now my first time writing and imagine/drabble (so don't mind the mistakes). All of the characters in the story are Oc’s and I own them. If you don't like it you can respectfully go away and read something else that u do like, thank you. Anyway, enjoy :)
TW ↪ Pet names (My love, Handsome, Sweetheart and Baby), Imani is 2 years old so she talks like a 2 year old (If u don’t like it go to hell), They call Imani angel (<3), Over all just a lot of fluff and cuteness.
Summary ↪ Imani wants to stay up and watch paw patrol but she needs to go to bed for daycare tomorrow. How will her parents make her go to sleep?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here we have a beautiful family, watching Paw patrol with they're 2 year old daughter that somehow roped them into watching it past her bedtime.
“Mama, papa pees,” Imani whined
“No angel, you have to go to daycare tomorrow.” Nia said, annoyed.
Imani started to whine. Almost crying, begging her parents to let her stay up a little after her bedtime to continue watching her show.
“Angel, please don’t cry,” Satis begged.
Imani started to whine even louder than before. Obviously saying that didn’t work.
Nia and Satis were convinced that they were going to need a crucifix soon.
Suddenly an idea popped in Satis’s head.
“Okay, what about this angel? If you have some time before daycare tomorrow, you can watch paw patrol. How does that sound?” Satis suggested.
Imani’s whining calms down, Gasping for air and yawning. A moment later she answers with a meek
“Okay papa.”
Nia and Satis smiled in victory, finally accomplishing their mission.
Satis took Imani from Nia’s arms and started walking upstairs with Nia trailing behind him.
They went to Imani’s room and laid her on her bed and tucked her in.
“Good night angel.” Nia and Satis said, taking turns kissing her head.
“Night mama and papa.” She said snuggling her stuffed bunny.
Nia and Satis slowly walk out of her room and close the door leaving a crack.
“Well my love, are you ready to go to bed?” Satis asks, taking her hand in his and bringing it up to his mouth, kissing it.
“I sure am handsome,” she answered with a tired grin.
Satis picked up Nia under her thighs and wrapped her leg around his waist and started walking towards their bedroom.
Once they reached their bedroom, he opened the door with one of his arms. He walked towards the bed, he then laid her on the bed and laid his head on her chest.
She started to run her finger through his hair softly.
“G’night sweetheart.” Satis said, slowly drifting off.
“G’night baby.” Nia answered, kissing his forehead softly.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

Tumblr media
today was the day seungcheol finally gathered the courage to ask you to be his for forever. he'd been thinking about it for quite a long time but only now had he been preparing for it.
he spent weeks looking for the perfect ring but nothing ever seemed to satisfy him, after all seungcheol only wanted the best of the best for you and it showed in everything.
he visited jewellery stores every day and spent his free time searching for ring designs on the internet. and then finally he found it. he felt a sense of accomplishment the moment he placed the order for your ring.
everything was starting to feel real and at that moment, it hit seungcheol hard. he was going to propose to you.
he spent the next few weeks in anxiety that you would find the ring and proceeded to change the hidden location of the ring every day. the first step being completed, the next step was to propose to you.
everyone who knew seungcheol knew he was someone who proclaimed his love in a very materialistic way, especially to you.
he asked his friends to go with him to shortlist places for the occasion and that also took quite a lot of time. he drove 6 hours every day and spent the majority of his time watching vlogs of the venues they had chosen. after a painful month of travelling all over seoul, he finally found the perfect place to propose to you.
after that came the most tiring step of them all, how was seungcheol going to propose to you? he needed decorations, venue reservations, to fly out your family on the other side of korea, a photographer - which he later decided that mingyu fit the role- he needed to get outfits and the hardest part was that seungcheol had to do it without you noticing.
he made calls day and night to inquire about different things that were required for the proposal. he called your family members and personally invited them. seungcheol visited the venue every day and planned the decorations with a team of professionals.
seungcheol was glad that you didn't catch on to his behaviour since he wasn't the best at keeping secrets.
after long months of planning, the day finally arrived. as usual, seungcheol went home and told you to get ready as he was taking you on a date.
you didn't expect anything, he was always taking you on surprise dates. seungcheol laid a beautiful red dress out for you on the bed with a note. you stepped out of the bedroom and there was seungcheol. he was fiddling with his watch as he stood in front of the room.
hearing the door open, seungcheol looked at you and his world stopped. your hair framed your face perfectly and the matching red lip made you look irresistibly perfect. with his mouth open in awe, he walked towards you and held your hand, spinning you around. he listened to your giggles as the dress fluttered around you.
being struck by your beauty, seungcheol felt so so happy to be yours. he watched as you walked over to the shoe cabinet and took out a pair of black heels. seungcheol made it over to you and stopped you before you could wear them. he got down on his knees and placed his hand under your heel before kissing your calves.
now was your time to be speechless. you stared at him as he worked the latches on your heels. oh, how powerful you felt, for a man to be this in love with you that he got on his knees to slip on a pair of heels on you.
seungcheol stood and gave you his hand for you to hold as support. no words were exchanged but you felt loved and appreciated each time seungcheol opened doors for you or gave you his arm to hold while you climbed down the stairs.
the drive was the best description of innocent love, the both of you shared glances at each other and you smiled whenever seungcheol squeezed your thigh. it felt so intimate.
you decided to break the silence. "where are we going, my love?" you smiled at him and he looked at you when the car stopped at a red light. seungcheol reciprocated the smile and placed a kiss on your cheek before answering.
"it's a secret, cherry." you blushed at the nickname. you've heard it for a long time but each time he calls you 'cherry', your heart picks up on a few beats.
"oh come on!" you whined one last time hoping for an answer but all he did was smile and bring your hand to his mouth to place a gentle kiss on it. thankfully, this action made you forget about your destination as you sat there flustered.
the sun began to set and the sky had a beautiful pink gradient. it made this 'date' even more magical. while you gazed at the sky, you didn't realize you were at the destination until seungcheol opened the door and began walking towards you.
he opened your door, and again held his arm out as support. you set your dress out as your eyes roamed the place in wonder. you've never seen such a beautiful restaurant before. the ocean glistened behind the restaurant. a small path connected the restaurant with the beach.
the red sun was on par with the horizon. the scenery to you, looked like it had come out of a fairytale. not for seungcheol though. he was too busy staring at the fascination on your gorgeously sculpted face.
as much as he hated the hours of travel to look for this place, it felt like an accomplishment when you hugged him, thankful for this date.
a waiter came up to you and guided the both of you inside the restaurant.
seungcheol's hand rested on your lower back, and his body warmth immediately spread throughout your body, making you feel comfortable. the table that was reserved for the both of you was perfect. it had a view of the beach and the sunset that illuminated the restaurant, making it a beautiful hue of orange and pink.
"did you order for us beforehand?" you asked after the waiter left your favourite wine bottle on the table. seungcheol got up from his seat and opened the bottle before pouring it for you. he knew that you loved it when he served you wine.
"only the wine, nothing else." seungcheol sat down in his place and grabbed your hand over the table, rubbing his thumb over it ever so gently.
the menus were handed to you and seungcheol didn't let go of your hand even then, you smiled at his clingy behaviour. you skimmed through the menu and placed your order when the waiter came to collect it, seungcheol ordered a dish that you seem intrigued by, it was one that you had never heard of before.
there was a comfortable silence that enveloped the both of you as you stared at the sunset at the beach. it was romantic and private. no eyes were staring at the both of you, just you and seungcheol being sickly in love.
the dishes arrived soon after and the both of you started eating, seungcheol made comments on how beautiful you looked and you couldn't respond, all you did was shyly giggle at each and every one of them. the both of you moved on to other topics and time flew. by the time the both of you were done eating, the sun had set completely, and the moon shone in the starry night.
you and seungcheol walked towards the beach after he paid for the meal. hand in hand, you swayed them and took a walk on the beach. you shivered slightly at the chilly wind and seungcheol noticed as he immediately took off his trench coat and gave it to you.
you were about to walk further when you realised that seungcheol had stopped walking. you turned around with a confused expression on your face when you realised that he looked...nervous.
"cheol, is everything okay?" you asked as you walked in front of him and cupped his face, you laughed out an apology when he flinched at the coldness of your palms.
"yeah. um." he pulled away from you and held your hands before looking into your eyes. seungcheol's nerves were spiking up and he didn't know how to control it.
"you know the day i met you was the best day of my life. i was having a really bad day, but then you showed all happy and giddy. you put an automatic smile on my face and i didn't even know who you were." his words melted your heart, and you didn't even notice you were crying until seungcheol wiped the tear off your face.
"and then we continued to meet at that coffee shop near hybe. after a few weeks, i finally gathered up the courage to ask you out. i remember being so nervous to talk to you, and then i found out your voice was sweeter than your personality." you laughed through the tears at the corniness of seungcheol's words.
"after we started to date, i found out the real meaning of happiness. i used to dread coming home, it was so cold and dark but when you moved in, the house started to feel like my home, and soon my home turned into our home."
you were sobbing at this point, and then seungcheol started shedding tears.
"i want this to last my whole life, and i hope you want that too." you were nodding by the end of this sentence.
and then seungcheol got down on one knee and pulled out a velvet box. you knew this was going to happen, but now that it was playing out in front of you, it felt surreal. "so, yn. can you make me the happiest man in this world and marry me?"
he popped open the box and there the diamond studded ring glistened.  a single grey diamond rested on top and smaller white diamonds decorated the band of the ring. it sparkled in the moonlight, which made it even more magical.
you nodded profusely and sobbed harder as seungcheol shakily slipped the ring on your finger. he stood up and pulled you into a hug and brought you into a kiss, seungcheol dipped you as fireworks were set off in the distance. behind you, party poppers and cheers erupted from all of your friends and families.
you couldn't stop smiling when everyone congratulated the both of you. after the congratulations, you could see everyone talking about your wedding and seungcheol was happy that he didn't have to go through planning that by himself. it was safe to say planning the proposal was stressful but so worth it.
you looked at seungcheol who was already looking at you lovingly.
"why are you looking at me like that, mr. choi?" you asked cheekily, you wrapped your arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you in.
"why? cant i look at my wife, mrs. choi?" the both of you smiled.
"future wife." you corrected your fiancé.
"either way you're mine, mrs. choi."
"that i am, mr. choi."

Tumblr media
“Do you know how to make sex potions?” Wonbin looked up from his phone, the door to the magic shop locked up for the night, both of you in there alone. “S-sex potions?” he stuttered. “Why do you need to know how to make those?”
It was none of his business, he knew that you guys were only best-friends, but that didn’t stop his huge crush on you, or his ongoing fantasies about you and him.“Well it’s mines and haechan’s third date , and I think he wants to you know.” he was annoyed , of course you were doing this for that vampire senior , everything you did recently was for him. “Sex potions aren’t always safe.” he said. “It could go wrong.”
“I know, but you’re the smartest warlock i know.” he smiled at the praise. “And i really want to make him happy.” he sighed, he wished you’d do this for him, he could do so much better, be so much better if you only have him a chance. “Fine.” he said, you smiled. “i’ll make it for you, and bring it tomorrow.” you clapped, running up to him, hugging him.
later that night, he was reading the spell over and over. “He doesn’t deserve this.” he said, finding all the ingredients. “He doesn’t deserve you.” he has to calm himself down, he shouldn’t get too angry while doing this – throwing the last ingredient in, it was finished. he held the perfume bottle up, the pink liquid moving around. “You wouldn’t have to do this me.”
the next day, you skipped into the store the next day – he smiled, he always did when you came into the store for your shift. “Hey bestie.” you sat on the counter next to him, you sniffed the air, looking at him. “Are you wearing a new perfume?” he nodded shyly, smiling. “It smells good.” you said. “Did you, do it?” he hesitated, nodding. “Yeah.” he pulled it out of his pocket. “Just a little to your neck only when get around him.”
you took the bottle, inspecting it. “Why?” you questioned, he coughed embarrassed. “it’s a sex potion, if you use this around anyone but him, they’re gonna get you know.” he trailed off. “Oh, okay” you understood. “Thanks again wonbin i owe you big one.” you said hopping off the counter, making your way to the back, leaving him feeling happy as he rang up the customers.
you watched the last customer leave, locking the door flipping the open sign to close. “let’s start cleaning for the night.” he nodded, stretching his shirt lifting a bit, your eyes examined his body, you never noticed how toned his stomach was, he even had abs, he definitely had grown a bit since you guys were kids. “(name)?” wonbin waved his hand in your face. “You, okay?” you nodded, confused – what the hell was that? “i’m fine.” you chalked it up to you being tired. “let’s just clean, so we can head out.”
“Stupid ass high shelves.” you jumped up trying to put back the returned items. “i’m gonna kill whoever broke that damn step stool.” you grunted, struggling to put the items on the shelf. “Let me help.” wonbin’s arms reached over top of your head, his scent engulfing you, that same scent from earlier filling your nostril’s, you were surprised that it lasted that long.
“Th-thanks.” you turned tilting your head up to look at him, when did your friend get so attractive, it was so weird, these new feelings that popped out from nowhere. “(yn?)” he stood in front of you now. “Are you sure you, okay? you keep spacing out.” he looked at you concerned. “You look sick, you want to sit down, let’s sit you down.” he grabbed your hand, guiding you. “Wait.”
You stopped, he turned to you. “what’s wrong?” you couldn’t help yourself; you didn’t understand why you did it, but you grabbed his face, kissing him. you tangled your hands into his hair, kissing him deeper – your mind filled with nothing but him.
wonbin pulled away, holding your face in his hands. “i-i’m so sorry.” you stuttered out. “i don’t know why i did that, i couldn’t help it.” he didn’t say anything, pushing you against the shelf, slamming his lip into yours, slipping his tongue into your mouth, his hands traveled down to your waist lifting you up, wrapping your legs around his waist. “Bin.”
you moaned as he began to kiss your neck, sucking leaving little marks. “Bin, please i need you so bad, it hurts.” he groaned, your voice was filled with so much need. “Yeah?” he whispered against your skin. “How bad do you need me?” you whined as his hand rubbed higher and higher up your thighs. “Need you to fuck me.”
his hand came up, cupping your heat, you moaned. “you’re so wet.” he rubbed you through your panties. “Got so worked up over a little kissing, i didn’t even do anything.” he smirked, pressing on your clit. “you’re so sensitive, you’re about to cum already just from from me touching your little clit.”
you were never this sensitive, you never came just from someone touching your clit, so it was such a shock when you found yourself moaning his name as you came, messing up your panties. “Fuck!”
he carried you over to the counter, laying your body down. “bin, i need more.” you whined, pawing at his pants. “i want you inside me.” he cursed under his breathed, you looked so pretty, your eyes so fucked out, clothes disheveled, so ready for him to fuck you. “Fu-fuck baby okay.”
he quickly stripped himself of his pants, slotting himself in between your legs. “You ready?” he rubbed his cock up your folds, you mewled, nodding. “Please fuck me, i need you so bad.” not letting you wait any longer, easing himself inside your hole. “Fuck, you feel so good.”
he seethed himself inside you fully, groaning at how you fit around his cock. “sh-shit you’re so perfect.” he pulled almost fully out, slamming back inside you. “wonbin , fuck!” you screamed as he thrusted inside of you. “Fu-fuck your pussy is perfect, sucking me in like this.”
he dreamed for this day – night after night of him fucking his fist to the thought of you spread out like this , his cock stretching your cunt to its max. “so much better than i imagined , your pussy was made to take my cock.” you moaned , never did you imagine that you’d be fucking your best friend , but it felt so good , you didn’t want this to be the last time. “don’t want you to stop.” he smirked. “Please never stop.”
he spread your legs, hitting a deeper spot, you screamed, clenching around him. “gonna fuck you all the time now.” he groaned. “Only i can fuck you like this, that senior doesn’t deserve to see you like this.” he said rubbing your clit. “you’re mine, alright, my mate.” he grunted. “gonna fuck you full of my cum.” you dumbly nodded, not fully understanding why he was talking about. “Please cum inside me.”
he was in heaven, your cunt sucking him in, desperate for him to cum inside your cunt. “Want my cum that bad -shit- fuck you nice and full?” he slapped your cunt, you yelp. “Yes, please cum inside me, i’m gonna cum!” you screamed, forgetting that you were still in the store, luckily no one was in there. “Please cum inside me.”
his thrust faltering, his body hovering over yours as he rutted his cock sloppily into you. “sh-shit i’m gonna cum, cum with me, want you to cum with me.” he said, rubbing your clit much harsher. “Fuck, i’m cumming!” both of you moaning out as you came, his cum shooting into your hole, filling you up. “Fuck.” he cursed, his head dropping into your neck, breathing heavily. “sh-shit that was amazing.” he said, you hummed coming down from your blissful high.
he pulled out, his cum slowly dripping out. “i’m sorry, i made a mess.” he said shyly, you laughed. “How can you be so shy after fucking me like you just did.” you shook your head. “Just help me get cleaned up and take me home.”
he took you home, you invited him in, both of you showering together where round two happened before you actually showered, getting dressed in some comfortable clothes, order food, ending the night with some cuddles.
“What are you gonna tell haechan?” you shrugged. “It doesn’t matter, he won’t be that hurt, he’s a hot vampire, there are plenty of other desperate witches at our university.” he laughed. “weren’t you one of those desperate witches.” you glared at him. “Watch it, you might be cute, and can make me cum, but i’ll still turn you into a goat.” he laughed. “you’d miss me too much.” you hummed.
“ i think you’d miss me more, cause then who else would you spray a sexual aphrodisiac on yourself for.” his eyes widened, you laughed. “You knew?” he said. “It washed away in the shower dummy.” he was embarrassed. “don’t be embarrassed, i’m not mad.” you climbed on top of him. “y-you’re not?” you shook your head. “Next time use vanilla scent.” he took note. “w-why vanilla.”
“Because it’s my favorite scent and if you use it i’ll suck your cock until you cum down my throat.”

Lena felt awful. She must've fallen asleep in an awkward position on a chair in one of the main labs. Looking at the clock she found she had dozed off for at least a couple of hours. She let out a groan as she got up and stretched, releasing at least some of the tension in her back. Lena just knew her back was gonna bother her for the rest of the day, week possibly.
Looking around the room, she saw the rest of her team asleep on nearby chairs, or just straight out on the floor. The crisis was averted at the very least, their new lasting energy source did not, in fact, blow up the building, so she'd count it as a win. Despite the massive setback, they might just pull it off, eventually that is. For now she was just glad that everyone was safe. Everyone including–
The embryo! She was clearly not fully woken up if she managed to forget that. Lena grabbed herself a cup of coffee from the nearby machine and headed up to her private lab. She got no messages from Kara, so she hoped that everything went alright.
She felt awful leaving her to do everything by herself, especially with such an important milestone. It was also somewhat disappointing she wasn't there to share the moment with Kara. Lena remembered her being overly enthusiastic about it in one of her visits. Or was it strange? She couldn't recall, then again she was very distracted at the time.
Lena nearly finished her coffee by the time she reached the lab. Disposing the cup on a nearby table, she spared a warm look at the sleeping form of Kara who was draped stiffly on the little couch in the corner, the couch she herself insisted on adding to the room, before heading to the machine to check the progress. The screen seemed to be okay, not indicating any warning signs at the very least, but it was the pods that caught her attention. Brainy's special pod was lit right there at the bottom in a special container, but instead of the one other pod she expected to be lit right above it, she spotted two.
She hurried back to the monitor to check the data, only to discover her own genetic data attached to the embryo in the first pod.
Her and Kara's.
Lena's hand instinctively went to cover her mouth in shock. She had noticed Kara never deleted their PF, of course, but she never imagined she would do anything like that. Especially without her permission, or some discussion at the very least.
Lena thought the reason she left it might be to commemorate their success, a memory from their first test. Did she have some sort of secret plan this entire time? No, it's Kara. Kara would never pull anything like that. Then again, the pod was still active. It was processed before the pod containing Nia and Brainy's data was activated, meaning she must've noticed it, at some point, yet it was still active.
Lena had too many emotions running through her to even begin to process them. She was tired, hungry and very confused. Above all else, she wanted answers. Maybe then she could start to unravel the mess of feelings inside her.
She walked with determination towards her sleeping friend, growing more impatient with each step.
"Kara! Explain! Now!" She demanded, her voice may have come out a bit louder than she expected.
"Mmhhh?" Kara mumbled with a confused half lidded look, she studied Lena’s face with a growing smile. Lena raised a sharp eyebrow, hoping she would wake up sooner rather than later.
Kara blinked a few times, until her happy goofy smile turned into the shock of a deer caught in the headlights, that quickly turned into the shame of a dog that knew they were doing something wrong.
"I'm waiting." She emphasised with a stern voice.
"Oh, yeah." Kara cleared her throat. "I can explain." She jumped to her feet, all trace of her sleep was gone.
"I sure hope so," Lena stepped back and crossed her arms.
"It was an accident." She waved her hands down, a common signal for people asking to calm down, Lena only straightened her back in response.
"An accident that is still very much growing in a pod!" Lena pointed out.
"I…Yes," she recoiled back from Lena's intense gaze. "I was just… thinking…"
"For your sake, I really hope you did." Lena swore that unlike her brother, she never bore any murderous intentions towards any Kryptonian. That is until that moment at least, where she seriously started to consider it.
"Right, well," kara swallowed hard. "We can always choose to… um terminate –  the project I mean, of course. That is still very much an option if you want. I just… I remembered the conversation we had about the future and you said that you wanted kids, but were afraid to raise them unless it was with someone you trust. And you know I always wanted kids and don't really have the best luck with my relationships," she chuckled. "So, I just figured, maybe it's a sign, you know? Well, not a sign, more like an opportunity." She finished with a nervous smile.
Lena's mouth opened and closed a few times, unsure how to respond. God, she really believed entering the lab would help clear out her swirls of emotions, how wrong she was. Her best friend was potentially offering her everything she had ever wanted, or at least most of it, and Lena wasn't sure if it made her anger lessen or not.
"Because," Kara nervously continued when she noticed Lena wasn't responding. "It's really hard to know who you can trust, you know, all those stories of people leaving, and just not working out. You and I have been through so much, so I just know that we can survive anything. I trust you with everything. So why not this? I think everyone should just have a child with their best friend! It would probably lead to less relationship troubles and such. Does it sound crazy? Because I'm not sure anymore." She let out a nervous chuckle. "Please say something, Lena. Anything, please." Kara finished her speech full of hand motions and rambling with a pleading look, directed straight at Lena.
The air felt too thick to breathe normally. It did sound crazy. More than crazy. But somehow almost made sense at the same time? Or was it just her wishful thinking? Lena wasn't sure.
"I…" she started, unsure what to say. Her anger from before disappeared completely. "I don't know."
"Lena," Kara moved closer, holding her arms on each side, "I've tried to picture my future several times in my life, never sure of what it would hold or how it may look like, but I realised that the only thing I'm completely sure about is you. I know that I want you to be a big part of my future and the thought of raising a child with you brings me nothing but joy. It's a future I want. It's the clearest future I've seen in a while, and it's so bright, Lena. So bright. Do you see it?"
She did. Oh, she could see everything. Years of denying herself from accessing those kinds of thoughts washed over her. She saw chubby cheeks and deep blue eyes staring at her with wonder and love, family vacations, late nights at home watching movies, their child starting school for the first time, helping them with their homework, Kara bringing them all some takeaway after burning out her latest cooking attempt, and maybe even…
"You don't have to decide now of course we can always–"
"Okay." Lena found herself breathing out. Not louder than a whisper.
"Okay?"
"Okay."
"So...?" Kara asked just as quietly, stepping further into Lena's space.
"Yes." Answered, bridging the gap by putting her forward against Kara's. She closed her eyes in disbelief. "We're gonna be parents." A small chuckle of disbelief escaped her lips.
Lena has done some crazy shit in her life. She went on an insane treasure hunt in the jungle to find a necklace because mother told her about it when she was too small to remember, she tried to rescue her family's company after her brother destroyed its reputation for going genocidal, tried to brainwash the entire world in an attempt to stop violence, survived multiple assassination attempts, risked her own life several times, jumped off a cliff with only hope. Hope that the person in front of her would catch her. She hoped she always would.
Lena felt Kara's thumb wiping away the tears she didn't notice were falling down her face. She opened her eyes and saw similarly teary eyes, filled with love and hope. God she wanted to kiss her. She wanted to kiss her so badly, but feared the rejection she might shatter the dream she somehow found herself in.
She hugged her instead, pulling her as close as she could, searching for proof she was awake, that it was real. Kara didn't pull away so neither did Lena. She let herself breath the sweet scent of Kara's natural perfume, how this woman always smelled so good was beyond her.
"Wanna see our future baby?" Kara whispered in her ear after a while.
"It's barely an embryo at this point," Lena chuckled, not yet ready to pull back.
"Come on." Kara took her hand and pulled her towards the pods. They stayed close, as they stood next to the pod wall. Kara took her other hand as well and lifted it over to their pod. The glass was warm to the touch, which was unsurprising considering everything that went on inside of it. Still, knowing what could potentially come of it, was a lot.
"God," Lena wiped away her tears, "we have so much to discuss." Lena noted.
"Yes, we do. But we can do it later." Kara agreed.
"Kara, I don't even know if you even want to raise the child here." She found it somewhat difficult to say Our child. "I mean, you might want to go to Argo with your parents, and their advanced technology and education. It was your home after all." Lena tried to hold on to a sob.
"I may have been born on Krypton, but I made my family on Earth."

CONFRONTATION HAD NEVER BEEN SAMANTHAS STRONG SUIT.
growing up she'd do everything in her power to try and avoid having to face her mothers lectures or even an argument with her friends or any, really. that didn't change when it came to Georgia Miller.
after the kiss they shared Georgia drove Samantha back to Matthews without a word. it awkward, so much so none of them said a word since they had kissed. not even a simple goodbye was shared between them, as soon as the car pulled up to the house Samantha got out without a word. when she went inside she realized everyone was gone except for her friends, the three teens she had left in the basement were still there sleeping. she wasn't sure how but somehow they got the air mattress out and Jade and Nia were sleeping on it whilst Matthew was on the couch. Natalie and Oliver were nowhere in sight but she did not want to go look for them either, knowing she would be in for a very traumatizing night if she did.
the next day none of them woke until almost two in the afternoon, all of them quiet with pained looks on each of their faces. it was the only time Samantha had ever seen them so quiet, only exchanging one or two words. they spent a good hour trying to recover from such a horrible headache, most of them chugging water and taking Tylenol. it wasn't until mid afternoon that everyone went to Blue farm to eat lunch or dinner, honestly Samantha wasn't sure what it could be called.
even then, no one really spoke other than Oliver and Natalie who looked as normal as ever. each with smiles on their faces and talking to one another about how the party went and any gossip they had heard or seen that Friday night. Samantha just listened along with the other three, eating her cup of fruit and yogurt whilst drinking glass after glass of water.
as soon as she got home she took a quick shower and passed out until the next day. Sunday morning she woke up feeling a little better but still feeling the aftermath of drinking until she practically blacked out. she tried her best to hide how shitty she felt from her mom so she skipped breakfast and went on a run instead. it want abnormal for her to do so, it was a habit of hers ever since she was thirteen. she just hadn't had the time to go on one ever since classes started again. she ran two miles that day before she grew tired and decided to go back home, only to see Georgia outside tending to her garden.
she looked beautiful, no surprise there. she had on a black sun hat along with a yellow tank top and white shorts that all made her look fucking amazing. Samantha tried her best to ignore her, though, turned up the volume of the song playing in her earbuds and ran past the house as if it didn't mean anything. if only. once she was in her room she threw her body on her bed and screamed into her pillow.
fuck.
she couldn't face her, she just couldn't. she knew that Georgia would just tell her that the kiss was a mistake and that she was too old for her and a lot of other bullshit that would just anger Samantha and she wanted to save herself that pain. maybe it wasn't even just Georgia, maybe it had to do with her too. after their kiss she realized it wasn't just her having the hots for her, it wasn't just a little crush on her hot neighbor but it was real. too real and it scared the shit out of her. it was obvious since the beginning, she just never wanted to face that. the butterflies, the clammy hands, the anticipation for her to receive a text from her, being able to talk to her with ease and without it being awkward. but most of all it should've been obvious when she was the only thing on her mind from the day they met and on.
Georgia hadn't made an effort to talk to her either so Samantha figured it would be easier to just leave things as they are instead of having to endure an awkward conversation that would result in rejection.
so she spent most of her week keeping herself busy, she asked for extra hours and spent most of her time at Matthews place instead of her own and she didn't smoke for the whole week. scratch that, she did smoke but it was a dab pen so the house wouldn't smell. the blonde seemed to have disappeared as well and Samantha was thankful for that. it made things easier.
she even kept it from her friends.. well until she was left alone with Matthew and Nia.
they were all at Blue farm, once again, it was Thursday and her day off. Oliver and Natalie were somewhere, none of them really knew and Jade had to babysit her siblings so it was just the three of them.
she was sitting next to Nia whilst Matthew was across from them. Nia and him were talking about sophomore sleepover, the three of them were on the student council - which for Nia and Samantha it wasn't all that shocking but for Matthew on the other hand, it was. he had run as a joke but considering he's literally the stereotypical slutty jock, he won. Samantha and Nia already had everything else they needed for a shinny college resume, being on the student council just added the cherry on top. that being said, it meant they were in charge of most school activities including sophomore sleepover and although it wasn't required for them to be chaperones they were offered extra credit if they went since they needed more people helping during it and considering how easy that sounded, all three of them agreed.
as they talked her mind was preoccupied with something else - also known as someone else. even after five days she couldn't get her out of her head and it was horrible. it wasn't like they dated, or talked for very long for that matter. it was a simple and stupid drunken kiss that didn't mean anything to either of them. not even she believed that, it meant everything to her but she knew it didn't to Georgia. the blonde probably just saw her as a lovesick teen chasing after her whilst she was probably interested in someone else. someone like Paul. Samantha was aware that she was working with him in the mayors office and she also knew that Paul was one of the hottest bachelors in town and considering Georgia was.. well Georgia, she knew they probably had mutual feelings for each other.
the only hope she had that they couldn't be together was the fact that she worked for him and that would mess up his campaign. but dating in secret existed and that hurt even more.
she was looking down at her glass of water, watching the droplets around the glass drip and drip. she had tried her best to hide how she was feeling from her friends, she wore more makeup to hide her eye bag, wore her usual clothes to not bring any attention to her. she thought it had worked. it obviously didn't though.
whilst she was busy staring at the glass deep in thought Nia and Matthew were sharing glances at each other and at the young girl, the raven boy motioned toward her with his head making Nia sigh softly.
"Sam," she spoke softly but she didn't get a response, she turned back toward Matthew who was still looking at Samantha. noticing she hadn't heard Nia he spoke instead.
"Sam," he said a lot louder than her but there was still no response.
without much of another choice Nia shoved her friends arm softly with her own which finally snapped the girl out of it. she blinked and turned to her friends.
"what?" she asked her voice a little raspy from how quiet she had been all day. it was stupid of her to think they wouldn't notice, they were her best friends and they'd notice something was off simply by the way she looked at them. they had all noticed how she had been talking less, how her eyes grew more distant as the days passed and most of all how she would spend her days working instead of hanging out with them.
"what's up with you?" Matthew asked with a slight smile that he hoped would make his friend feel more comfortable.
she shook her head and plastered on a fake smile, "i'm fine. just tired" she shrugged. Nia and Matthew glanced at each other, neither of them believing that lie.
"yeah, right. you've been like this all week. what's wrong?" Mia asked and reached for her friends hand. the shorter girl hesitated, her eyes trained on their hands as she thought about what she could say. should she say the truth? could she? would it be beneficial? she wanted to think that it was but what if they tell her something that would just hurt her more?
her mouth opened to speak but her words got stuck in her throat as she saw a certain blonde walk into the restaurant with her usual smile and confident steps. she walked in and went straight to the cash register where Joe already was, he greeted her with a smile, said something and then began walking away. after the blonde leaned against the counter and pulled out her phone. was the universe against her? it sure felt like it in that moment.
Samantha swallowed thickly, "can we go? i'm done" she said pointing at her plate that was half eaten. the two friends looked at her even more confused, Matthew glanced at Nia but the curly haired girl was looking at Samantha. it took her a second before she realized Samantha was glancing at someone across the room repeatedly, her head turned and she trailed her eyes over to where she was looking, it was then that she understood. everything made so much sense now.
she turned to Matthew and pointed in the blondes direction, he looked at her with furrowed brows at first, not understanding what she was implying until her turned around and realized who was standing there. he turned back around and shook his head softly.
"yeah, we can go" Nia said and began to stand along with her friend.
"i'll pay" Matthew said and took out his wallet, Nia smiled in appreciation as she placed her hand on her best friends waist and walked out of the place with her.
the dark haired boy walked up to the cash register with his credit card out, "hey" he said to the employee. the woman greeted him back and he told her where they were sat to which the brunette employee nodded and began to print out of a receipt for him. as soon as he spoke Georgia looked up to see who was near her and when she realized who it was her heart rate picked up and her eyes subconsciously searched around the restaurant expecting to see Samantha but she was nowhere to be seen.
Matthew felt a pair of eyes staring at him so he turned to Georgia, the blondes eyes didn't flinch and he shot the woman a polite smile. it took her a second before she finally recuperated it, she took a step forward wanting to ask if he had come with his friends but Joes voice stopped her from doing so. she turned to him and saw him holding a brown bag with their lunch inside. she took the bag in her hand and thanked him before leaving the restaurant.
Samantha and Nia were in Nias black Lexus SUV. the raven haired girl was in the passenger seat scrolling through her playlist to pick a song for the car ride. she felt dramatic for forcing her friends to leave simply because Georgia had walked in but she couldn't control how her chest tightened as soon as they were in each others presence.
three minutes later the back door opened and Matthew entered the car, he moved down the seat until he was sitting in the middle where he placed both his hands on the seats in front of him and leaned slightly into the console.
"spill" he said looking directly at Samantha. she chuckled at his words.
"what?"
"what happened between you and hot neighbor?" he elaborated looking at her with expectedly. Samantha rolled her eyes at him.
"nothing happened" she shrugged, hoping to play it off. she really wanted to tell them what happened but she wasn't used to this, gossiping about her love life. she never really had a love life until a year ago and even then she kept it under wraps, they only knew they were dating and then that they broke up. simple and easy.
"ha," Matthew laughed obnoxiously making Samantha glare at him. "yeah and i'm white. seriously, what happened?" he said motioning for her to talk.
she looked at him with a blank expression and Nia looked between them with an amused smile. the staring contest lasted a good thirty seconds before finally Samantha blinked, sighed and shook her head. Matthew smirked at his victory and waited for his friend to finally tell them what happened.
"we kissed" she rushed out, not bothering to look at either of them and kept her eyes trained on hands that were messing with the rings on her fingers.
Matthew and Nia looked at each other, both equally as astonished, eyes wide with raised brows. if Samantha would've seen their reaction she would've laughed. in a second they both turned to her, "what the fuck" Matthew said making Nia nod agreement.
"yeah, what he said" Nia said pointing at him with her thumb. Samantha chuckled softly at them, she finally looked up from her lap and shrugged.
"it was at the party. i was really drunk as you guys know," she said earning nods from both of them. "and then i texted her and she went and i don't know i just kissed her" she said with a slight shrug.
both teens glanced at each other again and then turned to Samantha, "why the hell didn't you tell anyone?" Nia rushed out.
Samantha sighed, "i don't know. it's not exactly something i can just go around telling people. she could get in trouble" she said.
"yeah but we're your friends. it's not like we'd throw you under the bus like that" Matthew nodded whilst pointing at Nia who rolled her eyes and shoved his finger away from her. the boy frowned at her but didn't say anything in return.
"i know that" Samantha sighed once more, "but i felt stupid"
"did she have a bad reaction?" Matthew asked.
"not really. we just didn't talk after that, she dropped me off and none of us said anything. we haven't talked since"
"has she been avoiding you?" Nia asked with furrowed brows, it didn't look that way at Blue farm, in fact, it didn't really seem like the blonde had noticed they were even there.
"i haven't really gotten the chance considering i'm avoiding her" she answered honestly.
"damn" Matthew muttered.
"why?" Nia asked, she looked at Samanthas lap and saw her picking at her nails so she reached across the console and interlaced her hand with her friends.
"because i know she's just going to say it was just a mistake and all of this bullshit about how it's wrong and what would people think. besides, she works in the mayors office now and if anyone found out about it her reputation would be ruined" she explained in a rush.
Matthew nodded, "that's true"
that caused Nia to smack him in the shoulder with her free hand, Matthew frowned rubbing the spot that had just been hit whilst Nia shook her head at him.
"don't listen to him" she said with a glare. Matthew recoiled slightly. "you guys need to talk about it, regardless of the outcome" she said.
Samantha sighed, "i don't know"
"come on" Nia persisted, "you never know. maybe things could go well"
"ha," Samantha chuckled, "right. cause we could just treat our relationship like any normal one. it's not like she's friend with my mom and i go to school with her daughter"
Nia rolled her eyes with an amused smile, "come on. you know that's not what i mean. just talk to her, it's not like anyone has to find out about it anyway"
the raven haired girl didn't say anything as she processed her words. she knew Nia had a point but she also knew that if she were to talk to Georgia it could go one out of two ways, them kissing or her with the pain of being rejected. sure, one of those sounded heavenly but the other also sounded like hell. Samantha wasn't used to rejection, she had never really been the one to get her heartbroken because the other person decided it. the only other time she had been heartbroken it was because she decided it.
Samantha turned to look at her friend with furrowed brows, "i'm sorry. weren't you the one who told me be careful when she dm'd me the other day?" she asked.
Matthews eyes practically bulged out of his eye socket, "back up. she dm'd you?" he asked his voice going up an octave.
"yeah, like, a week ago" Samantha said.
"holy shit, she really is in love with you" he sighed out his back hitting the back seat as he looked at the roof in awe. Samantha rolled his eyes at him before turning to her friend with a raised brow, expecting an answer to her prior question.
Nia rolled her eyes at her friend, "i know what i said but that was before i realized what she really wanted. besides, i'd be a hypocrite to tell you to stay away. god knows if i were in your position id be running after her like a lost puppy" she sighed out looking at the road in front of her dreamily.
Samantha chuckled at her, "right. okay"
Nia finally looked at her friend, "just don't fuck it up. who knows, maybe she could be your sugar momma or something" she winked making Samantha snort out a laugh.
"a girl can dream"
the sun was shining brightly down on tan skin as low steady breathes left her body. her hair was tied back with a claw clip, she had on a pair of black nike compression shorts and a crop top that only covered just below her sports bra. it was warm out, not enough to break a huge sweat but enough for her to feel her head begin to warm up at the bright sun shinning down on her.
she had woken up an hour and a half ago to go on a walk which resulted in a run. Matthew had asked if she wanted to go to the gym with him and Oliver but she figured she'd wait until Saturday since she had more time. it was Friday, thankfully which meant sophomore sleepover was the next day.
the girl still hadn't talked to Georgia. she wanted to after her conversation with Nia, she and Matthew were very persistent the whole drive home and even when they got to her house. smoking with them went from relaxing to annoying pretty quickly. deep down she understood that they had a point, the only way she'd know for sure how Georgia was feeling about it would be by talking to her. that didn't make it sound any easier though. especially not considering Georgia hadn't made an effort to talk to her either. just as much as Samantha could text her, so could Georgia and considering their last message exchanged had stayed the same, she figured Georgia didn't want to talk about it.
what was the point then? she'd just be setting herself up for rejection and that was just like paying a hit man to kill her. the only thing that gave her hope was knowing Georgia had a lot more at stake compared to her. her job, reputation, her kids and so much more. it wasn't really a mystery why she wouldn't be making the first move but even then that wasn't enough for Samantha to get the motivation to make the first move.
Samantha gracefully jogged up to her house and opened the door, a wave of relief washing over her as soon as she stepped inside the house. she tried to steady her breathing by inhaling and exhaling deeply. the house smelled like pancakes and bacon meaning her mom was probably in the middle of cooking. she walked into the kitchen, her skin slightly glistening with a light sweat. she went straight to the fridge and grabbed a water bottle, as soon as it was uncapped she chugged half of it.
"good morning honey" Ellen said with a bright smile. her daughter placed the plastic water on the table and smiled back.
"morning"
"how was the run?" she asked as she mixed the pancake batter. there was a bowl of fresh cut up fruit in a bowl calling her name so she reached over the blonde mom and grabbed a strawberry.
"refreshing. can you put chocolate chip in mine," she said referring to the pancakes. Ellen nodded.
"yeah, can you make sure Marcus is out of bed?" she asked as her daughter began to walk out of the kitchen.
"sure thing" she called out behind her and rushed up the stairs. Marcus was in fact not out of bed causing her to smack the boy with the closest pillow to her. she could've just shook him awake but where's the fun in that?
"i hate you" he called out as Samantha was already walking out of his room.
"love you more" she responded making kissy noises. once she was in her room she went to her dresser and took out her clothes for the day. a pair of blue baggy jeans were thrown on her bed along with a dark green tank top that really only covered her cleavage, most of her stomach was left exposed.
fully dressed and makeup done Samantha walked downstairs with her black backpack on one shoulder. her hair was curled and she was wearing grey Jordan ones. she knew as soon as Matthew sees them he's gonna complain about how it wasn't fair she got them and he didn't.
the raven haired girl sat down beside her brother on the booth section of the table and began to eat her food quietly. her siblings were already almost done with their food. she signed good morning to her dad who signed back and they had a silent conversation whilst Maxine argued about how she didn't have permission to go to sophomore sleepover.
"this Saturday night is the most important night of my life!" Maxine exclaimed as she stood with her empty plate in hand. Samantha just listened to them, finding it mildly entertaining if she were being honest.
"i don't know what to tell you. you're grounded" Ellen said back, she sounded angry and Samantha could tell this had been going on all morning - if not all week. this was the first morning she ate breakfast with them all week, she spent most of her mornings on runs but she figured she could wake an hour earlier if it meant she could spend at least one morning with her parents this week. Clint nor Ellen were ever the type to be hard on her so she knew they'd never express the fact that she wasn't ever attending family breakfast but she knew it was in the back of their mind.
Maxine walked up to Ellen and placed her plate down on the counter, "mom, this is sophomore sleepover. this transcends grounding. why don't you understand that? i'll die if i don't go!" she said rising her voice at the end of her rant.
Samantha chuckled silently, this was the prime example on why she always made sure to be on her moms side, always honest about where she was going and what she would be doing. she'd rather not get permission (although that didn't really happen because of how honest she was) than have to endure weeks of being grounded.
"i'll die if i do go" Marcus mumbled and Maxine walked back to the table to sit down.
Ellen looked at him silently and Samantha knew they had fucked up. she watched as her mom went to the counter opposite of where she was and grabbed the binder sitting there, Samanthas eyes widened as Ellen approached them knowing what would happen next. just like she had expected the binder was dropped on the table roughly making everyone sitting there flinch, including Clint.
"i have spent hours and hours working my ass off, researching hot dog vendors, glow stick suppliers. if anyone gets to die, it's me" she says her voice growing gradually louder as she spoke.
Samantha bit her tongue as it all unfolded. she didn't have an opinion on it, she wasn't being forced to go and she's sure that's what angered Max the most, she wasn't even a sophomore and yet she was going.
"we could all die together. as a family" Clint said making his eldest daughter let out a laugh. she raised her hand up and he smiled as gave her a high five. Maxine turned to her sister with a glare.
"Samantha's going and she's not even a sophomore!" she exclaimed pointing at her across the table. that really made her feel like a mind reader. she chuckled silently at the thought.
"im going for extra credit. and also i'm not a part of this" she said and stood up from her spot with her empty plate in hand. she patted her brothers arm so that he could scoot over and let her out.
"none of my friends are going" Marcus said as he stood, Samantha smiled at him and left the booth so she could go to the sink and put her plate there. Ellen shook her head at her sons words, having enough of it all.
"you are actually the worst mother ever." in the process of her whining Ellen had walked to where her daughter was. Samantha looked at her sister with a head shake, that was totally uncalled for. "why can't you be cool like Georgia?"
almost as if they woman had been summoned by just her name, her voice caught everyone's attention, including Samanthas. "i am pretty cool. morning, neighbors" she said happily. the raven haired girl leaned against the counter and watched the blonde with a rapidly beating heart. she really hoped no one else could hear it - although that statement sounded stupid, by how hard it was hammering it didn't seem all that imposible. she tried her best to show no emotion at the sight of the blonde which was stupid since no one in the room had even a slight suspicion about them.
"come in! join us!" Ellen exclaimed throwing her hands up. Clint began to sign something grabbing everyone's attention, Samantha chuckles at his statement. "he says run, save yourself" she said and Clint stood from his chair to put his plate in the sink.
"oh" Georgia chuckles with an amused smile. she turns to look at the twins who are both sporting looks of misery. "im just here to get Ginny's ticket" she said turning to look back at Ellen whilst Clint walks out of the kitchen.
Samantha stayed leaning against the counter as she watched the blonde, her hands were supporting her body on the counter top and watched as Georgia slowly met her eye, it was brief and even in that second the young girl still felt as if the air had been knocked out of her body. the blonde looked away just as quickly and laid her eyes on Ellen with her usual smile.
"see, mom, Ginny's going" Maxine said pointing at Georgia.
"would you like some breakfast?" Ellen asked completely ignoring Maxine's comment, already having enough of that argument.
Georgia gasped dramatically, "wow, your such a good mom! isn't she a good mom, Max?" the blonde asked turning to Maxine once more. Samantha looked at the blonde with a raised brow, what was she playing at? "Max, i think if you wanna prove that you deserve to go to sophomore sleepover, there are other ways to go about it than yelling at Ellen."
"yeah, stop yelling at Ellen" the blonde mom agreed quickly after.
Samantha watched as realization struck Max and she stood from her spot on the table whilst grabbing her plate. her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, her eyes followed her sister as she walked to the sink and put her plate in there.
"that is some serious Jedi mind shit." Marcus said pointing at his sister while she washed her dish in the sink. Samantha chuckled at her brothers comment.
"Marcus, go to school, learn something" Ellen said pointing at her son with an annoyed expression.
"you know i won't" Marcus replied already walking out of the kitchen.
"start my car" Samantha called out before he could fully leave the house, the boy stopped, walk backwards and caught Samanthas keys when she threw them in his direction.
the blonde shook her head at her eldest daughters actions knowing she could've hit someone. "i wish i could put you in my pocket and take you everywhere" Ellen said and opened the cash box on the table to put the money Georgia was giving her inside.
Georgia looked down at the money filled box with wide eyes, "i just had a thought. why don't i chaperone the sleepover with you?" she asked her tone of voice a lot more high pitched than usual. "that way, you don't have to suffer all alone."
as soon as those words left the woman's mouth a look of dread crossed Samanthas face, her eyes widening in surprise. no. no, absolutely not. this was her time to possibly get drunk with her friends all whilst earning easy extra credit in her classes and points on her college resume. the raven haired girls head snapped to her mom, hoping with everything in her that she'd say no, tell her they have enough chaperones and Georgia didn't have to put herself through that suffering.
but that hope went to no use, "that would be amazing. i love it" Ellen laughed and gave Georgia her ticket "oh, i'm gonna put Bev on the 2:00am door shift. she'll be pissed" she mumbles the last part a smug grin on her lips.
"does that mean i'm not on door shift? cause i'm not that sure i want to spend my night hearing her complain about her marriage problems" Samantha spoke up making both Ellen and Georgia look at her. Georgias eyebrows furrowed at her words, not understanding what she had to do with any of it. it was a sleepover for sophomores, it was a literally in the name.
"i'll change you guys to classroom watch" she said smiling at her daughter.
"cool, i'm definitely gonna need some acid to wash out any sight of fifteen year olds hooking up" she nodded with pursed lips.
"you're gonna chaperone?" Georgia asked bluntly.
Samantha looked slightly taken back, if it bothered her so much then why did she volunteer? although technically the woman had no real way of knowing, her tone of voice just pissed her off. "yeah" she nodded.
her mother butted in, "they're on the student council, well, her Nia and Matthew which means they are kind of in charge of setting things like this up." she explained as she made herself busy cleaning around the kitchen.
"plus i get extra credit in all my classes" she shrugged. "anyway, we gotta go" she said looking at Maxine who was drying her hands off. the brunette nodded.
"bye mom, bye Georgia" Maxine said hugging her mom very quickly before shooting the blonde neighbor a smile and practically skipping out of school.
Samantha kissed her moms cheek and shot Georgia a forced smile who simply watched her, without another second to be questioned she followed her sister out of the house. when she stepped outside she saw Marcus sitting in the drivers seat with the girls vape in one hand. she rolled her eyes at him and walked up to the drivers seat, she yanked the door open and pointed behind her. "out" she instructed.
"oh, come on. cant i drive this once?" he asked but she shook her head.
"im sorry, do you have a job that can pay for any potential damages?" she smiled sarcastically. Marcus looked at her with a blank expression for a second before he let out a huff and got out of the seat. "thank you" she said and got inside the car.
as she began to put her seatbelt on and connect her cellphone to her car, the backseat opened getting her attention. "can Ginny come with us?" Maxine asked, poking her head.
Samantha didn't look up from her phone, simply shot her a thumbs up as she pressed play on her road playlist. "yay. okay, get in" Maxine said. the raven haired girl rolled her eyes, not finding a reason for Maxine to even ask considering she had already told Ginny she could.

Love, I See You Now
Word Count: 1.1k
Aerin Valleros x Asterin Nightbloom (m!elf!mc), background mentions of Asterin x Tyril and Asterin x Mal
A/N: Everyone say thank you to @gretchen-nightbloom for their post on Aerin's shadow form and @oh-so-youre-a-nerd being the one to find and send me the post. Also it is late and I am tired so this is unedited. If you see a typo no you don't. Title from Underground but Cody Fry
Slash. Strike. Block. Roll. Arrow. Bind. Roll. Shatter.
The battle for the Whitetower Rift was in full swing and Asterin could barely remember a time before it nor imagine a time after. All they could focus on was the split second they were in and what they had to do next. If they got distracted for even a moment they were dead.
He rolled and fired off cleansing fire in one direction, not even watching long enough to see it hit. He brought up his staff to block a sword and lashed out with his chain, entangled the soldier's legs and yanking her down. He'd long lost track of his friends and allies. He kept slipping in blood and he didn't even know where he was injured.
As it turned out, his leg was injured. He tried to lean on his left leg to sidestep an arrow but instead a flame of white hot pain burst from his leg and he cried out. He didn't get the chance to remember why he was stepping before the arrow found its mark in his chest.
Asterin didn't even scream as he fell, only made a choked off groan. It didn't even hurt much at first, he just stared at the arrow in his chest in shock. Then the pain hit all at once, so intense he couldn't cry out, only whimper as it overwhelmed his senses.
“ASTERIN!” A voice called his name and Asterin almost dismissed it as a hallucination. It sounded like Aerin but it was echoing, like a chorus of whispers repeated his every word.
A soldier appeared above him as his vision washed in and out. He could only make out the sword the soldier held from how it glinted in the sun. The soldier raised the sword and Asterin felt tears gather in his eyes.
He'd failed.
Asterin made one single mistake and now he was losing everything. Any chance to heal. Any chance to go on true adventures instead of desperate quests. Any chance to rebuild things with Aerin. He was losing Tyril and Mal and any life he could have had with them. He was losing Imtura and Nia. He was leaving Kade alone.
He didn't want to die…
Suddenly the air dropped so drastically Asterin could feel the frost on his armor. The sunlight seemed to be edged with violet.
Then a bolt of pure darkness armed right over Asterin and slammed into the chest of the ashen soldier about to kill him. Asterin's vision was still fading but as he tried to focus it he caught glimpses of a fight and the suffocating feeling of Shadow Magic. For a brief moment he wondered if Valax saw him fall and had betrayed her mother to save him.
But when Asterin's vision cleared it wasn't Valax kneeling down next to him. It was Aerin. Not as Asterin knew him now. His skin was gray with black veins cutting across it like cracks. His eye were a familiar silver that chilled Asterin to the bone. It was exactly how he'd looked when he'd betrayed them all to the Shadow Court, when he sacrificed Nia, when he nearly killed Asterin.
Aerin reached for him but Asterin flinched away, trying to put distance between them. He was already in so much pain, the agony alone would suffocate him. He didnt know what Shadow Aerin would do but his addled brain didnt care. He just didnt want to hurt anymore.
“No, it's okay,” Aerin spoke, his voice gentle but frantic like one would speak to an injured animal. Asterin supposed that was what he was. “Please, stop moving, you'll only hurt yourself.”
“And you won't?” Asterin tried to scoff but instead his words came out slurred and breathless.
“Of course I won't,” Aerin promised. “I swore to you I would never hurt you again. But you're seriously hurt in the midst of a massive battle, I need to get you to a medic.”
“A medic?” Asterin hummed. It was loud like one would expect to find in a battle. And he supposed he did need a medic. He did have an arrow in his chest. “Nia's a medic. Let's find Nia.”
“Perfect,” Aerin nodded and came to Asterin's side.
This time the elf didn't flinch away and let Aerin scoop him up. Normally he'd wonder where Aerin's shadow form came from and how he was able to pick up Asterin, but all Asterin could focus on was the whimper he let out as the wound was shifted. It was only worse as Aerin started running.
“AH!” Asterin cried, reflexively curling around himself. “Stop, stop it hurts, please.”
“Soon, stay strong for me Asterin,” Aerin promised.
“You promised you wouldn't hurt me anymore,” Asterin whimpered, but every step Aerin took sent shockwaves of pain through Asterin's entire system. Aerin made a face like someone had burned him, tears making his dulled skin sparkle.
Asterin was shifted once more and the agony that washed over him was like nothing he could have ever imagined. He heard a scream but he couldn't be sure if it was from him or the battle. His vision completely blacked out and he would have let the darkness take him if not for a cold hand taking his.
“Asterin, please, please open your eyes,” Aerin's voice pleaded. He liked Aerin. “You're stronger than this. You're the strongest person I've ever known. You won't let all this end to a stray arrow. Open your eyes, darling, please.”
His eyes were closed? He opened them again and saw Aerin amidst a cloud of white and gold. The gray was fading from his skin as he gripped Asterin's hands in both of his. He looked beautiful. So beautiful. With the shadow or without he would always be beautiful because he was Aerin.
“Shadow…?” Asterin wondered, his thoughts not quite making it to his mouth.
“I thought it was gone,” Aerin admitted. “But when I saw you on the ground and heard you scream something came over me. It was an anger and fear I'd never felt before and it brought forth whatever traces of Shadow Magic were left in me.”
“You're okay?” Asterin asked. “Still my Aerin?”
“Of course,” Aerin swore and squeezed Asterin's hand. “I'll always be your Aerin.”
“Good,” Asterin muttered. “I lo’ my Aerin…”
There was more to say, it was on the tip of his tongue. But he couldn't find the strength to form the words. He thought he could hear Nia now and there was something bright but Asterin was too tired to look. He tried to fight the darkness like Kade always did for him, he really tried, but his head lulled and his eyes fell shut.
“Asterin, no, open your eyes, ASTERIN!”
Eventually he couldn't open them again.

Live With Me - Chapter 17
Tumblr media
Read it on AO3 here!
Nia is not having a fun time.
She’s been keeping the public updated as much as she can since Kara, Lena and Ms Grant got taken away to go and meet the President as per Ms Grant’s orders but keeping up with the influx of questions and comments is a task that she needs help keeping up with.
Franklin has been trying to help her, but since he’s been taking her direction on it, having him do anything leads to her being asked a million questions and then she’s too busy answering those to get any proper work done herself. She has to give it to the poor guy, in any case. He really is trying.
The phones have been ringing off the hook and she’s had to enlist a whole bunch of interns to answer them to try and deter people from calling over and over, specifically other media stations. They barely have the story of what’s going on with the group taken to The White House as it is. They don’t have enough information to clarify anything to anyone else properly. If anything, they would love to have someone to call to explain the details to them.
On top of handling that, when she went to HR to tell them that she and Franklin were taking over this project and that they needed to set up someone else to run the company temporarily, they wholly misunderstood and assumed that she was telling them that Ms Grant put her in charge of the company so now she’s scrambling to do precisely that.
She has the support of pretty much everyone in the office, but it’s clear that they are only helping because they pity her and are tired of watching her run around like a chicken with its head cut off. A lot of her day is spent running around trying to figure out how to get everything organized and the two people who know the best way to run this place are both gone.
Franklin knocks on the glass door to Ms Grant’s office to announce to Nia that he’s there. She’s been camping in there for a little while now to try and get some peace and quiet, working at the glass coffee table and eyeing up the desk nervously. She knows she could sit there if she wants to, but it feels wrong and she has the distinct feeling that Ms Grant will know if she does.
“Hey, Franklin.” She greets him with a tired smile that doesn’t get anywhere close to reaching her eyes.
“Sorry to interrupt, but I have a list of all the messages taken from the interns working on the phones. I flicked through, and it looks like most are just people wanting to know what’s going on, but there’s some from investors and some from suppliers, so I feel like those should be looked over.” Franklin grimaces as he explains. “I know that’s not what you want to hear.”
“Not at all.” Nia agrees. “I have no idea what I’m doing, Franklin. Can you try and find someone who can deal with that? Someone with more power than me?”
He shakes his head sadly. “You’re the person around here with the power. There’s nobody here more capable than you.”
“That’s unfortunate.”
“I know.”
Her eyes brighten and a devilish smile makes its way onto her face as she’s stuck with a moment of realization. “You’re right, Franklin. I’m the one around here with all the power, and as that person, I will insist that you take care of that, and I also apologize. Just stall the investors. Ms Grant will handle that when she gets back. As for suppliers, do whatever it takes to keep them with the company. We can’t print anything if our ink or paper suppliers back out. Threaten to sue them if you have to; channel your inner Cat Grant.”
“Nia, I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Franklin attempts to argue. He sets the list down on the table before rubbing his sweaty palms down his pant legs and trying to back off.
“I do. I’m the most senior member here as of this moment and I have a lot of faith in you, my dear friend. Good luck.” She smiles widely, her eyes twinkling and her hand grabbing the list to thrust it in his direction somewhat aggressively.
“I…” He hesitates but takes the papers. “I’ll try my best.”
Nia’s gaze softens. “Thank you, Franklin. I couldn’t do any of this without you. I have no idea how to handle any of this stuff, so I’m glad to have you in my corner.”
Franklin smiles at her, tight-lipped but genuine. “I’m happy to do it for you, Nia.”
“Thank you.”
Both Nia and Franklin’s heads turn to the door as someone barges in. It’s one of the security guards and he’s severely out of breath; he just ran from somewhere. He pants for a second, not enough about him to form actual words. “Sorry.”
“What’s wrong?” Nia questions, immediately on edge and shooting up to her feet.
“Government agents are attempting to gain entry to the building. They are in the lobby, and they have warrants. The other guys are escorting them up as we speak.” He warns her before ducking back out of the room before she can ask any more questions.
Nia and Franklin share an alarmed look.
“Franklin, we have less than two minutes to get all our evidence against the government and hide it before they get up here. Go!” She pushes his shoulder to jump-start him into a gallop as she passes, running faster than she has in a while. As she races through the bullpen, she yells out. “Someone get legal up here, stat! I don’t care who, just do it!”
The primary evidence that isn’t the critical stuff that Ms Grant already locked away is in Kara’s office. She knows she can get there, but she has no idea what she’s going to do with it after that because she won’t have time to make it anywhere she can hide it and she doesn’t have the code to Ms Grant’s hidden safe so she can’t put it in there.
All of it is already in a file on the desk, so she only has to grab it. Most of it is information they have already released to the public, but if there is anything they’ve missed that they can use later, she doesn’t want them to have it.
There’s no point in her staying in the office. This will be one of the first places they check so nothing is safe here. It’s a shame because they are probably going to wreck this office right after Kara has only just done it up. At least she has a mega-rich girlfriend that will undoubtedly pay for any damages if she’s overly upset about it.
Nia heads for the door and skids to a stop right outside when she hears a commotion coming from the direction of the elevators. They’re here.
She looks around, her options are limited, and she has to think fast. There’s an old records room a few doors down. That’ll do.
She ducks inside and lets her eyes wander over the vast number of filing cabinets crammed into the space. They are literally stacked on top of each other, and others are pushed in front of the older ones to make more space. They should probably be using a second room at this point because this can’t be safety compliant. The cabinets look like they could fall at any second.
Nia drops the file onto the floor momentarily before grabbing one of the cabinets and pulling it with all her might. It scoots forward just a few inches, but that’s all she needs. She might have a few droplets of sweat racing down the side of her face, but she’s being a boss ass bitch so she can overlook how gross it is for now.
Picking up the file, Nia lifts herself up so she can lean over the cabinet and proceeds to reach down for the bottom drawer of the cabinet that was seated behind it. It opens just enough to expose the first seven or so files. She flicks a random one open with the tip of her finger before jamming the evidence file into the space.
Wasting no time, she slams the drawer shut, jumps down and presses her back to the cabinet in front, using her legs to shove it back into position. It works a lot easier than when she was trying to pull it out, that’s for sure.
She takes a second to breathe a sigh of relief and, in doing so, remembers that she’s supposed to be in charge and should go and try to calm all of the ruckus out by the elevators.
Nia races her way over to the bullpen but purposely takes an extra second to compose herself and ensure she’s looking as presentable as possible before turning the last corner. She’s got to channel her inner Cat Grant now.
Marching out there, she clears her throat and fights to keep her face emotionless in the face of about twenty government agents that are all fighting with the CatCo staff. They’re all yelling at each other, the team blocking their way into the office but giving in the second they take so much as the tiniest push because they don’t want to get hurt.
“What is going on here?” Nia asks, her voice raised as much as one single eyebrow is, a trick she’s learned from Lena.
Barely anyone pays her any mind, but she does catch the attention of someone from the Legal Department. She’s glad to know someone listened to her. “Hey, do you know what’s happening?” Nia asks the frazzled-looking woman.
“They supposedly have a warrant, but they are refusing to show it to anyone other than the person in charge.”
Nia rolls her eyes at that. Of course, the government think they can bully their way inside without showing off this supposed warrant to anyone. “Ok, I’ll go and get it. Can you get someone to start streaming this? I want this entire interaction live-streamed. This is something the world needs to see.”
The woman nods but doesn’t look certain. “Are you sure this is a good idea?”
“Is it legal?”
“Well, yes.”
“Then it’s a good idea. Do it.”
Following that interaction, Nia marches right up to the agents and stands in front of them, arms folder and a deadly stare in place. “What can I do for you?”
The agent closest to her glances at her briefly. “We have a warrant; access is to be freely granted; otherwise, we have the legal right to force entry.”
“Show me the warrant,” Nia demands.
“We can only show it to the person in charge, and we know that the person in charge is in Washington DC.” He smirks but drops it quickly when he notices a guy pointing a camera at him. Nia glances at him over her shoulder. “Thank you, Tom. Keep streaming.”
“You got it, boss.” He replies.
Nia raises her eyebrow at the agent again. “Hear that? I’m the boss. I’m in charge of CatCo in Ms Grant’s absence, which makes me the person you should show me that warrant.”
His demeanour shifts instantly, and he completely disengages from her, moving away to whom Nia can only assume is his boss. Nia tracks his movements and tilts her head, intrigued when the boss’ spine straightens and a discomfort sits upon his shoulders.
They dive into a hushed conversation that Nia doesn’t stand a chance of hearing, so instead of watching, she turns to Tom and speaks to the camera. “This is Nia Nal, temporary CEO of CatCo and one of the reporters working behind the scenes with Cat Grant and Kara Danvers on the articles you’re all probably aware of.
“We’re here at CatCo and have government agents attempting to force entry. They claim they have a warrant but refuse to show it to anyone here, including myself. Agents have already pushed past a lot of the staff and have started going through offices looking for what I can only assume is the information we have about the articles.”
Nia gestures to have Tom pan the camera around to show the agents going through desks and pushing people out of the way while refusing to answer any questions about what they want or are attempting to do.
Tom then points the camera back at Nia as she starts talking. “Let’s go and make another attempt at getting that warrant.”
Stalking off to the agent and his boss, Tom follows her diligently, the camera still focused on her. She clears her throat once she’s right behind the two men and plants her hands on her hips. “Excuse me. I need to see that warrant. If you refuse, you must leave immediately as you’re trespassing. You’re illegally seizing CatCo property, damaging our building and traumatizing the staff.”
The guy the first agent ran to clasps his hands behind his back and juts his chin into the air, clearly feeling an air of superiority. “I only have clearance to show that warrant to one Ms Catherine Grant as the CEO of CatCo.”
“No, you have the authority to show it to the person in charge, which is me. I’m currently running CatCo; you need to leave if you don’t show me that warrant. Now.”
“No can do. I’m just following orders.”
“Whose orders are those?”
“That’s confidential.”
Nia turns away from him, the camera following her every move. “That’s it. I’m getting security to get these guys out of here.”
Nia searches for the nearest security guard and sees that he’s arguing with an agent that is completely ignoring him. “Hey, get him out of here, they have no legal right, and they’re trespassing.”
Like a switch has been flipped, the guard mumbles into his radio to let the other security guards know the score. Then he’s grappling with the agent. He rips the files out of his hands that he’s collected from who knows where, and he forces his hands behind his back before shoving his towards the elevators.
The next thing any of them know, the ruckus has turned into a brawl. Agents and guards alike are wrestling with each other, reporters and staff grabbing back the property that the thieving government agents were trying to take with them. Nia stares at the scene in disbelief. This is not what she imagined running CatCo would be like. Ms Grant is going to kill her.
She turns to look for the boss agent again to see if they can resolve this peacefully but walks face-first into the camera, a red line forming on her forehead where the top lip thwacked her. “Ow.” She complains but looks around. “This isn’t good.”
With the brawl in the background, she has an idea. Facing the lens again, she starts talking to the people. “This is what we’re dealing with as a company. The government is attempting to silence us by bullying us into submission without caring about what rights they are taking from us. They would do the same to any person that gets in their way. We will be fine here at CatCo though, we have the safety of numbers.
“Kara Danvers, Lena Luthor and Catherine Grant don’t have that protection. They were taken by the government yesterday to meet The President allegedly. We have seen no proof of this, and their presence was not requested but demanded. Nobody has heard from them since and I worry greatly for their safety, so I implore you all to speak up and not let your voices be silenced the way they are attempting to silence ours.”
From behind, someone grabs her shoulder. She whips around and pushes their hand off her violently, only to regret it when she sees Franklin’s sheepish face. “Sorry, Nia.”
“What is it?”
“There are police here.”
“Dear lord, this place is being overrun with people who like to think with their fists because they don’t have brains. Where are they?”
“On their way up,” Franklin replies sheepishly.
“Of course they are.” Nia scrapes a hand down her face, so done with this entire day, scratch that, this whole week. Her hand catches her forehead and she winces. “Get the staff to stop fighting. I don’t want anyone arrested because the cops can’t differentiate between assault and self-defence when their buddies are involved.”
Franklin scurries away with a nod, and then Nia moves to do the same thing, finding groups of staff and deploying them across the floor to make them stop fighting and instead peacefully block the way of any agent trying to take something that doesn’t belong to them.
The police draw their guns into the bullpen, commanding everyone to get on the ground. Still, it’s evident that by ‘everyone’, they are only talking about the staff and security guards and not the government agents that are the ones actually committing crimes.
Nia keeps standing as everyone drops to the floor, not fighting with loaded guns. She instead lifts her hands into the air and very calmly explains. “I’m Nia Nal, I’m in charge here at CatCo, and I would very much appreciate it if you could tell these brutes that they cannot force their way into a building without a warrant, and if they do have one, they have to show it before they begin helping themselves to CatCo property.”
“Get on the ground!” She’s ordered again.
“I will get on the ground once you’ve confirmed whether or not they have a warrant and make them get on the ground. I assume you’re not treating them with the same disrespect because you both work for the government, but I will not tolerate it, nor will the thousands of people currently watching this interaction live.” She gestures to the camera that Tom is still pointing at her.
The police look at each other briefly before closing in, the guns getting closer to her. “Get on the ground now!”
Nia doesn’t have to be told again. She doesn’t want any bullet holes in her good blouse. It’s an expensive one she ‘borrowed’ from Lena’s closet at a game night a few months ago, and it is designer. She thought it was perfect for her first official day as acting CEO, and now she’s wondering if Lena let her take it because it’s a bad omen or something. She wouldn’t be above that; she is a Luthor.
“Fine, fine, just check the damn warrant.” She yells from the ground.
To their credit, the cops round up the government agents into a corner and make them put down all the stuff they’ve picked up onto a nearby desk before asking for the warrant. One that the one in charge finally takes out of his pocket to show to the police.
The police officer in charge, a woman who looks ready to kick the asses of everyone here, reads it over quickly before sighing. “This says you have the right to a few specific files, and only if you’re not given them can you force access. You have completely disregarded the system and trodden on the rights of everyone here, especially by refusing to show the warrant in the first place. This could have all been avoided if you had done your jobs properly.”
Nia actually claps at the words and the scolded look across the agents’ faces but stops when she finds herself on the receiving end of a glare.
“Nia Nal, did I get that correctly?” The officer asks.
“Yes, that’s me.”
“Can you find these files for the agents so they can leave?”
She nods quickly. “Yes, can you have them wait either in the lobby or outside? I don’t know how long it will take to find them since they’ve made quite the mess in here and they are making my staff nervous.”
The officer nods. “Here is the warrant; ensure you give them everything they want.” She then directs the officers to wrangle them towards the elevators.
As soon as they are all gone, the staff burst into cheers and Nia looks to the camera. “Well, that wasn’t exactly a party, was it? I wasn’t going to show it, but I will release the footage from the lobby when Kara, Lena and Cat’s presence was demanded in Washington. I think we need to be more worried about them than we have been.”
Tom captured the entire thing on the camera and he keeps filming until Nia has found the documents they have requested, all of them the ones on the case against Lord and the government, as expected, and only shits it off after he gets a good shot of them all leaving.
Now, the world knows to worry. Now they see what they are up against.
-
“Oh god.”
Kara’s head snaps up from where she’s had it hanging forward with her eyes closed in an attempt to get some rest when she’s still bound to this stupid chair. She’s been woozy ever since she took that last punch to her face, so she’s been resisting the urge to puke all over herself.
Ms Grant is pushed into the room, her hands clasped behind her back too, but unlike herself, Kara notes that there is no sign of injury to her anywhere.
“Are you ok?” Kara asks as Cat is arranged onto a chair opposite her, her arms thrown over the back of it and her legs zip tied to the legs before they are left to the quiet of the room.
“Am I ok? Kara, your face is swollen, and there is blood covering at least half of it.”
Kara looks up at Cat with the one eye that isn’t swollen shut. “Oh yeah, they hit me.”
“I gathered. Are you in pain?”
Kara shrugs the best she can, wishing she had a hand free to unstick her hair from her face where it’s gotten stuck in her slowly drying blood. It’s really uncomfortable. “A little. I’ll be ok. Do you know where Lena is?”
Cat shakes her head, unable to take her eyes off Kara’s bloody face. “Last I saw of her was in the hotel room they had us in for a while. I take it you got to meet our lovely president too?”
“I did. He wasn’t best impressed when I told him I wouldn’t give him what he wants.”
“That would be why he was so grouchy by the time I arrived.”
Kara grimaces. “Sorry.”
“Don’t be. You did the right thing. We have to get out of here though because I’m not liking our chances of exposing their shitty behaviour the longer we’re here. If we wait too long, I’m guessing we won’t be alive much longer.”
“That’s pessimistic.” Kara sighs, her shoulders straining awkwardly from the angle she’s trapped in. They ache like crazy, but it’s nothing compared to her blood-deprived feet or the stinging in her face.
“It’s realistic.” Cat counters. “Let’s figure this out.”
-
Lena props her feet up on the table of the hotel conference room. She can see the silhouettes of the guards outside the door preventing her escape and she’s not stupid enough to believe that she could break her way out of here right now. She wouldn’t even if she could; she doesn’t know where Kara is yet. That’s her first priority.
She clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth in a steady beat to pass the time and to try and prove to whoever might be watching that she’s not afraid or nervous. She’s actually pretty terrified, not for herself but for Kara. She can handle herself, she’s been doing it for years, but Kara is too good for this world and she’s too keen to see the best in people. Lena will hunt down anyone that poses a threat to her because Kara is the one thing in her life she can’t live without. Not now that she knows what it is to love and be loved by her. She’d rather die than be deprived of her.
Her gaze is set on her heels, her mind whizzing at a hundred miles per hour and her hands folded tightly across her body, her only protection.
The silhouettes shift and it catches her attention. The door opens and a large man with grey hair enters. He’s holding a clipboard and he’s in full military gear. “Ms Luthor.” He greets her.
“General Lane.” She replies in a clipped tone.
“I see there is no need for introductions then.” He drags out the chair opposite her with a noisy scrape that makes Lena grimace.
“Obviously. What can I do for you, General Lane?”
A sly smile crosses his face. “Quite the contrary, Ms Luthor. This meeting is about what I can do for you.”
Lena’s head tilts, her confusion just barely recognizable. “I don’t see how unless you’re about to tell me where you have taken Ms Danvers and Ms Grant.”
General Lane scoots his chair over so he’s no longer facing the bottom of Lena’s shoes, obviously annoyed that she’s not put her feet down as he was expecting her to. “In good time, Ms Luthor. There are more pressing matters for us to discuss first and foremost.”
“I disagree. My people are more important than whatever imbecile offer you’re about to make me is.”
“I can assure you, the offer I’m about to make you is anything but imbecile. It’s one that will make you more money than you could ever possibly imagine.”
“Are you forgetting that, unlike your pet Maxwell Lord, I’m a Luthor with access to billions of dollars already? I don’t need any illegal schemes to better myself.” She swings her legs down, stands up and leans over the desk, her arms holding up her weight. “I’m already the best.”
General Lane leans back in her chair. His lips are puckered in anger, and a lightning bolt-like crease has formed between his eyes, fire brewing there. “Fine, I was being nice, but since you don’t want to go about it that way, how about we do it the hard way? Does that sound good to you?”
“I didn’t know a man as old as you could get hard anymore.”
His fist slams down on the table as he resorts to yelling at the top of his lungs for a moment of irrational fury before he calms himself down enough to realize that he shouldn’t be shouting in case anyone hears. “You are walking a fine line, Ms Luthor. You have two options. You can work with us and take up the contract we had with Lord Industries to build those prisons and do those experiments, or we can forcefully seize your company, put someone more willing in charge and still get what we want. You can sit down and make money, or you can be removed. It’s up to you.”
“What a shame. I have a million different safeguards in place to stop you from doing exactly that.” Lena tuts. She’s scared now but determined to keep a hold of the upper hand. “Tell me though, General, why are you so keen on getting those experiments done? What are they exactly and how does it benefit you?”
His eyes are blazing but Lena can see the reality of the situation. His brain might as well be soup because he’s not quick enough to handle her in a verbal sparring match. He can’t outshout her, not here.
“That’s confidential.”
“You want me in on your schemes, then you must tell me what they are. That’s how this works.”
His head turns robotically to one side, his face turning away as he attempts to regain some of his composure. He takes a deep breath before facing her again. “Our military services always need new weaponry and advancements; however, we don’t have the manpower to willingly put the lives of honest men and women at risk for experimental weaponry.”
“So you want to use prisoners.” Lena fills in the gaps. “What kind of weaponry will you be having them use.”
A sick smile slithers its way onto General Lane’s face. “They are the weapons.”
Lena’s heart sinks and bile rises in her throat—time for a new plan. There’s no working with someone as deranged as this. “I don’t agree with what you’re doing, but I think we’re both aware of my weaknesses.”
“Your pretty little girlfriend.” General Lena sneers. “She’s been quite the pain in the backside.”
“I can imagine, she’s quite the force to be reckoned with when she wants to be.”
“We can’t have her putting our operations at risk.”
Lena nods seriously. “Of course not, but that won’t be a problem going forward.”
“What makes you so sure of that?”
“Kara is a powerful woman, but I’m stronger, and she will never go against me if I’m working with you. You get me my girlfriend and her boss, release them, and I will work with you. In the meantime, get me the details of what you need for the project. If I’m doing this, I’m going to be well-informed. Sound good to you?”
He rolls his shoulders back, not liking that Lena is calling the shots but very much appreciating that she’s willing to negotiate. His desperate need for control is taking over though. “You get the ladies once we’ve signed the contract.”
“I sign the contract once I have them. Do you really want to make all that work for yourself by trying to take over my company just because you won’t budge on one tiny detail?”
“After.” He spits.
“I get to see them to prove they are ok, and then you can take them up the hotel room and keep them there until after the contract is signed. How about that?”
“I would be amendable.”
“Excellent.” Lena smiles. “Bring them to me and we can discuss matters further. In the meantime, I will look at the experiments’ details. Good?”
He nods. “I’ll send someone out to fetch them.”
“You do that.”

The Super Blues (Pt 3) -- REWRITE
Kara, Lena, Alex, and the rest of the superfriends stood around the marble oval table in Lena’s home office, their makeshift war room for the time being, divvying out assignments to search the city. Brainy had already finished reviewing the school’s security footage at the main entrances of the school, but still found no sign of Lori or anyone looking remotely like her leaving the building.
“Could she have left from the roof?” Nia suggested as a long shot.
“Checking now… negative, the roof door sensors didn’t go off today.” Brainy confirmed.
“I just don’t understand how she seemed to disappear without a trace.” Alex questioned.
“There has to be another way...” Kara huffs. The super was getting more and more irritated. How could they send their daughters to a top-notch school with the best security in the city and still lose one? After they find Lori, Kara would be making a very concerted effort to get in on the PTA.
“There are five entrances into the school.” Brainy informs.
“What?” Kara exclaims. “But they only have the two main entrances.”
“Main, is the key word there. Briany’s right.” Lena pulls up the school blueprints for both the remodeled school, showing two main entrances, and the original blueprint, showing an additional three entrances.
“And they don’t keep security cameras or door alarms on any of them! In this day and age - I mean -” Kara was fuming now.
“Kara breath.” Lena warns in her CEO voice. “Lori could have left out of any one of those entrances. The two entrances on the north facing side lead to Central St. which has several bus routes connected. The entrance facing east leads to a dead-end parking lot, so we should focus our search on Central St. and those bus routes.
“We don’t have much to go off of, but if we split up, we should be able to cover the city in under an hour.” Alex shows the team seven sections of the city on the hologram, each color coordinated to the respective superfriend. As Lena went into more detail on specific locations, she was interrupted by a soft cough coming from behind the door. The group turned to see El, who had just made it home from school, peeking through the crack. El looked back at the group like a baby deer in headlights, completely frozen and then rushed off toward the stairs, shortly after which the group heard a loud thud from El tripping her way up the stairs.
“I’ll check on her.” Kara said as she left the room.
“Ellie, hey little one,” Kara found El laying on her bed, hands clutching her raven hair. “I know this is scary, but we’re going to find your sister, ok.” El shook her head as she sat up and looked at her Jeju with red rimmed eyes.
El took out her pocket notebook and pen and started writing - i’m sorry. My fault. Kara decided not to push El to speak, especially under such stressful circumstances.
“It's not your fault El. We don’t know what happened, but we’re doing everything we can to get Lori back.” Kara reassured as she started standing up to get ready to search.
El wrote again – She said she was just tired, but something else is wrong. I didn’t say anything and now she’s gone.
“What do you mean she said she was tired?” Kara asked curiously.
El wrote some more – She wasn’t acting like herself, she stopped smiling and talking to people. She was sneaking out the back entrance of the gym at lunch but I never saw her come back in today.
A light bulb immediately went off in Kara’s head - the east-facing entrance from the original blueprint - the one that leads to a dead end.
“El, did Lori say or do anything else? Do you know if she could have gone anywhere else?” Kara questioned. Jeju almost never used a serious tone like this with El and it made the teen shrink in on herself even more.
El shook her head with tear filled eyes. “‘m s-s-sor-ry” El said voice cracking.
Kara knelt down to look El in the eyes, “You have nothing to be sorry about. This was not your fault. Thank you for telling me, Ellie.” El threw herself into Kara’s arms, an occurrence that rarely happened. Kara held her daughter until a knock at the door caused the two to break apart.
“Everything ok here?” Lena questioned.
“Yes, I think El may have figured out which exit Lori left from.” Kara nodded down at her youngest.
----
Kara finished her segment of the city first and then looped around to help cover the others. Lena and Brainy stayed at the house monitoring various camera footage to signs of Lori, only spotting her a few times from footage taken hours prior. It was finally dark out and getting colder as the sun fell.
“The bridge, thirty-seven minutes ago.” Brainy calls out.
“Details please. Which bridge?” Lena cuts in.
“Lori was crossing the bridge on Hawthorn over the bay leading towards the industrial park just outside the city about thirty-eight minutes ago now.” Brainy clarifies pulling up the images of a lanky blond in a National City Prep school uniform - short sleeved blue polo, plaid gray and red skirt, blue knee high socks and ballet flats. The girl walked stiffly, not looking around, just forward. Lena couldn't help but think she was looking at a stranger. Why would Lori wander outside of the city? The industrial park was known for a variety of troublesome activities - drugs, gangs, prostitution, and all sorts of crime.
Brainy sent an update to the team on the ground. Kara was already flying toward the industrial park with Alex following behind on motorcycle. As she flew, Kara couldnt help but think of all the times she had to go to the industrial park to fight. The area seemed to attract all the worst sorts, and now apparently her daughter who was doing roa knows what.
Kara sped through the entire industrial park, but found no sign of Lori. “Brainy, you’re sure she’s here?”
“Affirmative, she started walking across the bridge forty-two minutes ago, and assuming Lori was consistently walking at her average pace, she would have made it to the industrial park twenty-three minutes ago.” Brainy explained. “Though, the human body tires quickly especially after longer travel with poor footwear. It's possible…”
“Found her,” Alex cuts in. “Kara, I need you to get down here.

Here Comes The Rain
I've got an unfinished Supercorp Series called "Lena's Mildy Not Fantastic Week" that I've decided to post here!
Lena is sick, Kara is somewhere else, Alex is done with her bullshit. (supercorp)
Word Count: 1115
-----
Lena really didn’t feel well. Her head hurt, her eyes hurt, her legs hurt, everything fucking hurt. She was tired and didn’t want to be awake. Being awake was really way too much work. She felt like her body was somehow icy cold, and engulfed in fire. The cold was so intense that it felt like her bones might shatter if she moved the wrong way, but the heat threatened to sear her eyes out of her skull. She was so exhausted. But of course, she had to work. She always had to work. Doing magic sucked a lot of energy out of the young witch.
Her phone buzzed angrily, pulling her out of her fever fueled thoughts. She grumbled under her breath, and reached out of her blanket cocoon to retrieve the offending piece of tech. The text that flashed across the far too bright screen was from Kara.
Kar: Morning, you’re gonna hate me for this, but J’onn says we’ve all gotta come in, to practice hand to hand combat. I know you don’t need it, but he’s making it mandatory.
Lena: Twenty minutes
Lena began to mentally prepare for a very long day. She pulled herself groggily out of her bed, dragging her favorite fuzzy blanket into the bathroom with her. She was too cold to exist without it. After a very long ten minutes, she managed to hide how pale she actually was, and pulled her hair into a manageable ponytail. Her clothes weren't exactly those she would wear everyday. She was wearing an old sweatshirt of Kara’s, and a pair of ratty sweatpants. Not exactly stylish, but comfortable, and that's all she really cared about.
She shuffled out of the house in Uggs, the same small blanket still wrapped around her shoulders. She knew she looked ridiculous, but it was warm, warm enough that she could ignore the looks she was getting as she strolled to the Tower in thirty degree weather. Naturally, she had given her stupid driver the stupid day off.
Half way through the annoyingly long walk, it started to freezing rain. Now she was probably hypothermic and somehow even more miserable. She should’ve just stayed home. Home has warm blankets and a heater and holy fuck she was so cold.
When she finally got to the Tower, she couldn’t feel her fingers or toes, which she figured was probably a bad thing. The door closed behind her, and she was greeted by a half asleep Nia. The hero had probably just woken up from her dream land.
“You look like shit.” She mumbled, walking past Lena with a cup of steaming coffee in her hands. Coffee sounded like a great idea to the shivering woman. She was too cold, and would do just about anything to get warm.. Everything hurt so much.
It was pretty early, and it seemed that there weren't many other people there yet, which made sense, because it was five in the damn morning. She hadn’t even seen Kara yet. How could the blonde make Lena come in so early, when she wasn’t even there? She just started to brew a new pot of coffee when a hand on her shoulder startled her out of her thoughts.
“Woah, you’re dripping.” Alex said, squishing the fabric of her fuzzy blanket, which sent a stream of freezing down the back of her neck.
“Fuck off.” Lena grumbled, her voice coming out hoarser than she’d like it too. The former agent's hand left her shoulder, and shifted up to the back of her neck. She shuddered involuntarily at the warmth of Alex’s skin, wishing for Kara’s Kryptonian body heat.
“You’ve got hypothermia you dumbass, let’s get those wet clothes off.”
“Coffee.”
“Coffee does not brew, when you don’t turn the coffee pot on. This isn’t an offer, let’s go.” Lena cursed her under her breath as she was dragged to the locker room, and her layers were removed. After a few minutes, she was standing in just an undershirt and sweatpants, staring at the trembling reflection of herself in the mirror. Alex stood behind me, complaining about how useless Lena was being. She seemed to finally understand that Lena had zero intentions of helping her with this process. She did not want to be here and planned as difficult as possible. She didn’t want her fawning over her. The only thing keeping Lena from an emotional breakdown was how Alex was handling the situation. It was weirdly keeping her calm.
“Alright, you’ve gotta change into some dry clothes, but I’m not doing that for you, unless you absolutely need me too. I’ve got some warm clothes, even a new bra, because I’m sure yours is soaked. You think you can handle this?” She asked, looking at Lena with genuine concern in her eyes. It was almost annoying, but also kind of nice to know that someone besides Kara actually gives a shit about her health.
“I’m not a newborn, I can change my clothes.” Lena responded, earning a smirk from Alex.
“You’re shaking so hard I wouldn’t trust you to go to the bathroom on your own. But seriously, I’m going to be right outside the door. If you need me, just yell, or cry, or something. Just, don’t die.”
Unfortunately, Lena’s job of not dying was a bit of a struggle. She was dizzy, and her body hurt. She managed to get the pants on okay, but naturally, she got sort of stuck in the shirt. For some reason, her arms were unwilling to obey her when she ordered them to move. Frustrated tears began to well up in her eyes, as I fought against the offending fabric. She didn’t want help, much less from Alex. But she saw absolutely no choice.
“A-alex?” She croaked, dreading the look that she would inevitably get. The door creaked open, and an exasperated sigh filled the room.
“My god, I leave you alone for less than two minutes. What are we going to do with you?” The brunette's voice was gentle and tinged with humor. Within a few minutes, the shirt was where it was supposed to be, and Lena was glaring at the floor, blinking back the tears that wouldn’t go away.
“Hey, it’s okay. It happens to the best of us, kiddo.” Alex murmured, brushing a lone tear off of the sniveling woman’s cheek.
“Does it?” Lena choked out, biting her lip hard against her emotions.
“How about we dry your hair and get some sort of super strong cold medicine into you. That sound okay?” With a small sigh, Lena agreed, and let Alex lead her out of the locker room. She missed her girlfriend.

A bit of a long post. There's a tldr at the end but I highly request you to read this thing because this is a realisation that hit me like a ton of bricks:
I've been slowly catching up with Blades (I'm in Chapter 5 so far) and the Watcher mentions something interesting about Valax.
When MC asks if Valax could trace them through their blood, the Watcher replies "Yes. They would have gained enough of your blood in a year". This is also in conjunction with what Kade says about time moving the same in the Shadow Realm. It got me thinking about what really happened and how to MC, it felt like a couple of hours, but to everyone it seems like a year.
And how quickly MC was to escape as well. There was no shock from Valax. There was no surprise that MC had escaped. There was only resentment and mild frustration, which kind of makes me speculate that Valax was so sure of getting MC's blood that even if they did escape, she was certain she could find them. Which is what happens in Ch 4.
Either MC had to be in some sort of magically induced coma or slumber. Even then, wouldn't they have been drained from all that loss of blood? I'm not sure about Elves and Orcs but human!MCs would be dead tired after that. They wouldn't be able to conjure up a portal, let alone think or even wield magic of sorts. But they do.
I could be so wrong on this, but what if there was a unique kind of magic only to realm-walkers? We know the Light magic and how it drains Nia. We know of the Elven magic and how Tyril was born with heightened senses. We know how Imtura uses strength to wield power and though Mal might not possess magic, he definitely knows stealth. Each of the magic-wielding Party members all have a unique magic associated with them and all have their merits and demerits.
What if MC has their own sort of branch of magic but it warps time instead? It sounds outlandish and could have already been discussed but maybe just like how Light magic drains life force, what if this Realm-walker magic warps time? And by closing portals, they are essentially causing time to just sort of convulse and build up before exploding?
There have been some interesting theories about the Watcher being the villain and it makes sense. The Watcher was put in power by the Old Gods to keep watch of the realms. He has no say and he can only guide people. Perhaps he was waiting for a realm-walker to come by and wants to get his own power - have a say, be a God himself and for that, he needs to bring about destruction of everything. Start afresh. Be the only survivor and harness magic and construct a new world order. Maybe he sees the fault in things - he's always sided with MC, helping them out.
What if they pull an Endless Summer and just end all of time and space and everything that existed? Because the Light gained too much power within its own realm and the Shadow did the same from MC closing all the portals, stopping magic from "flowing through" if that makes sense and it is all just stuffed to the brim, and with war and discord, the magic is either totally wiped out like in Lord of the Rings - where the Elves construct beautiful kingdoms from the power given to them by the rings and once they're destroyed, their magic starts to fade away and them as well.
What if the realm-magic is the glue holding everything together? And that there are many more realms and it isn't black and white, like Light and Shadow and there's more shades of grey. And with MC following the Watcher's orders to keep their friends safe, they are actively causing the destruction of the universe?
The Watcher can take them anywhere - from Whitetower to wherever Tyril was battling that creature in Chapter 2. Maybe he's taking them to these pinpoints. The Deadwood portal in Chapter 4, that he mentions, was a crucial land area which was originally called Whimsywood before the war.
What if the war wasn't about good versus evil at all? What if Xaius wasn't fighting against the shadow forces, willingly and it was the Watcher who whispered things into his ear - what if he was a realm-walker too and that winning this war would mean banishing the shadow creatures down a portal and having the rifts around, but Xaius eventually loses a battle with his morals and beliefs and is wiped out, only for the Watcher to look for another realm walker?
Someone young and new, someone gullible enough to do everything for good, someone who not only has power but has a close relationship with powerful allies (Imtura is literally the daughter of an Orc empress/pirate, Tyril is a lord of an Elven house, Nia is a Priestess of Light and Mal is a professional thief who is also a famed adventurer).
It's a lot to be thinking from Chapter 4 alone, but I'm just going to put it out there for speculation and whether:
Realm-walkers end up consuming time (the Watcher specifically says "it takes a lot of time and effort" which can be interpreted literally as well) and end up dilates time which explains why MC was so confused as to why everyone thought they were missing for a year.
Whether the Watcher wants to control the whole of Time, since it is a very popular fantasy trope.
Whether they're willingly walking into a death trap and Valax has been right all along - they need to have MC die to restore world order.
And more speculations about MC's birth, because if this is indeed a chosen one trope, I have no doubt there's something that MC's parent would have done that caused this or something that happened during MC's birth that made everything fall into ordered chaos.

"I miss you"
Nia could admit that it was a text she knew shouldn't have been sent and for a split second, she wished to take it back but...
"Come see me"
In minutes she found herself on the deserted roads at 2:36 in the morning, headed to the last place she should be like the fool she has always been when it came to him.
It always happened this way.
They'd argue, break up and end up back together as if nothing happened.
It had become a routine, one that she was slowly getting tired of.
But it was difficult for her to break away from the one person who knew her better than she knew herself.
If she wasn't so afraid of being alone, she would've been broken free but somehow her mind had convinced itself that she needed him.
For three years they played this cruel game. The trust they once had for one another almost cease to exist. Yet, the love they shared seemed unscathed.
Even when they attempted to date other people, somehow, someway, they always ended up back together. The word "sorry" no longer existed in their vocabulary. There were only so many times it could be said until its purpose became tainted.
In a way, she was positive they liked hurting one another. A sick way to show they still cared.
Two months have passed since she last saw him and she was doing so well without him. Or so she forced herself to believe. Her weakest moments always seemed to attack her thoughts late at night as she lay in bed alone.
She shouldn't miss him.
Life was much better without his presence.
But every time her eyes closed, her mind was filled with thoughts of him no matter how hard she tried to forget him.
She was addicted to everything that was him and he knew it.
He thrived off the fact that no matter how many times she yelled out "fuck you", she'd always come back to him where she belonged.
In his twisted mind, no one would ever love her in the way he does.
Touch her as he does.
Kiss her as he does.
Hold her as he does.
And more importantly, make love to her as he does.
Just the thought of him shook her mentally.
God, she hated him so much.
Licking her lips, Nia stood quietly outside of his apartment door, silently telling herself to just turn on her heel and go back home where she needed to be.
But she'd be lying to herself if she didn't say that she missed him because she did.
However, it wasn't as if she needed him like the oxygen she breathed.
And just as she was about to walk away, the sounds of locks coming undone caught her attention, pulling her from her intense thoughts.
"Shit," She whispered to herself as the door swung open to reveal him in all of his toxicity. Nia noted how his hair had grown longer with his bangs hanging just below his eyebrows. He stood in front of her with an unbuttoned satin shirt showcasing his chest and a pair of matching pants. A mean mug immediately spread across her face as she ignored her rapidly beating heart.
He knew exactly what the hell he was doing.
"Why did you call me here I.M?" It was a question that she already knew the answer to but the need to break the silence between them was necessary.
The way he looked at her...it was as if he saw right through her.
A small smile formed on his face as he eyed her slowly from head to toe and back up again before his dark eyes settled on her own. "The same reason why you decided to come...because I wanted to. Now come in," He answered, stepping aside to let her in.
Shaking her head, Nia did as he said while he locked the door behind her. She stood quietly in the middle of his dark hallway that had the kitchen on one side and his living room on the other, his scent filling her nose no matter which way her head turned.
"Keep walking," Changkyun softly ordered, his warm breath fanned against her ear causing a shiver to go down her spine.
Biting her tongue, she removed her slippers and walked further down the hall towards his dimly lit bedroom where the door was left slightly open. Nia felt Changkyun's arm brush past hers to push the door completely open to reveal his cozy room.
"What have I told you about coming out in public dressed like this?" He questioned lowly, tugging at the bottom of the white romper onesie that fitted snuggly against her skin. It was obvious she wore nothing underneath.
"I wasn't about to change just to come see you, besides..."
"Besides what?"
Nia felt so small under his gaze as he stood in front of her with his arm crossed. "I won't be here for long," She informs him, turning her attention towards the hard rain hitting against the glass above them.
Changkyun smirked at her words knowing full well they were a lie. "Why won't you just be with me Nia? Every time you run you always come back to me in the end,"
"You know exactly why," Nia instantly replies. It was a question that was asked by him often and the answer never changed. "What do you even want from me? You have so many options,"
"I want you to be my wife Nia. No one else compares to you and you know this," He counters back with swiftness. "No more games. No more lies,"
Nia stared back at him, looking for any indication of dishonesty. "I don't know I.M...I need time to think,"
As much as she wanted to believe his words, it was hard. She was so fuck'd up mentally because of him.
"Why do you do this to me?" She questions just above a whisper, hating how weak she was when it came to him. All it took was one look and he had her right where he wanted. She was his and no one else.
"Take it off," He commands, ignoring her question on purpose. "Please..."
Maybe it was because of how tempting Changkyun looked at the moment. Pure sex on legs. Or the way he spoke to her, demanding yet sweet. It took little to nothing to get her to do whatever he asked of her.
She was so pathetic.
However, Nia didn't care. Especially when he slid inside of her, hitting every spot, including the ones she didn't even know she had.
Only he could make her body shake with need. Giving her the type of dick that made her call out to the heavens above in bliss. Even to the point tears would run down her face in disbelief.
He fucked her as if it would be their last, leaving nothing untouched.
Nia found herself bent over with her ass in the air just how Changkyun liked it. Her hands gripping the sheets as he delivered toe-curling strokes after another, driving her insane. "You feel so good," She whined, feeling him places kisses along her back.
Changkyun said nothing at first, only responding by practically fucking Nia like his life depended on it. Rolling his hips every time in a way that had Nia wither with need. Her pussy welcomed him each time he filled her with such need.
"Say it,"
"It's yours," Nia barely croaked out, knowing what he wanted. "It's all yours," She said again, reaching back to push him away. The pressure in her gut became too much.
"I can feel it...just a little bit more. You can handle it,"

Safest in your arms pt 2
previous chapter || next chapter || series page
Pairing: Georgia Miller x Fem!OC
Summary: Samantha tries to take her mind off a certain blonde.
Warnings: (18+) MDNI cursing, drug use, age gap relationships (18 and 30) grooming, sexual themes.
Tumblr media
IT WASNT IDEAL HAVING TO BE THE OLDEST DAUGHTER.
especially not when you had to pick up your siblings from school everyday. Samantha was never the type to complain but it was getting hard to do so when Maxine wouldn't get in the damn car. with not much of a choice she had to park and wait for the girl to be done talking to the girl she now knew was named Ginny. it was all she could talk about on the way to school and Samantha had already grown tired of the name.
thankfully Marcus went out with Padma so she did not have to worry about having to hear him complain about how their sister takes too long. the girl was listening to the song playing through the speakers that was being controlled by Jade. Nia and Mathew were in the back. Oliver and Natalie had a date so they weren't planning on hanging out with them.
"seriously, how long does it take for your sister to say goodbye" Nia complained from the back seat as she scrolled through her instagram feed. Samantha rolled her eyes in annoyance, she wished she could just honk until Max got the hint and hurried the fuck up but she did not want to draw any attention to her.
"she's lucky i'm not leaving her ass behind" Samantha muttered and threw her head back against the back of the seat.
"why don't you?" Matthew chuckled. the boy was sitting in the middle and watching whatever it was Nia was doing on her phone. at first she glared at him until he looked away but after a couple of seconds he would just pry again so she gave up.
"because i don't want to hear her nagging about it for the rest of the day" the raven haired girl answered with a huff. Jade was in the passenger seat also scrolling through her feed and every once in a while she'd show a picture to Samantha and make a sly remark about the post.
at one point the girl laid her head on Jades shoulder through the console to see what she was looking at. Maxine was taking her sweet ass time and she figured they'd be there a while. she was caught up on Jades phone and didn't realize a certain someone had pulled into the school parking lot across from them. that is until a whistle sounded from the backseat.
Samantha looked behind her slightly confused only to see Matthew staring at someone outside with a huge smirk, the girls head whipped around. a silent and thankfully inaudible gasp escaped her lips at the sight. the woman she had shared a blunt with the night before was a couple feet away from bed. Georgia was wearing an all white pantsuit and a black sun hat along with glasses, it all really made her look like a housewife and if Samantha were being honest, she loved it.
memories of her laugh and voice and everything they said just a couple hours ago flashed in a fury. the blonde was staring at her daughter who was just wrapped up in a conversation with Max. up until Brody approached them staring right at the blonde mom, all of Maxine's friends following his eye sight. Samantha could see Ginny storm away angrily, she seemed to have said something to her mom before she got in the car as quickly as possible.
her eyebrows furrowed at the sight. she wondered if they had a bad relationship and if they did, why. last night she smoked weed with the mother as if it were nothing which made her believe she wasn't a strict mom. or maybe she just didn't care because Samantha wasn't her daughter.
"god i'm in love" Nia sighed out dreamily taking Samantha out of her mind.
the raven girl chuckles at her friend, "id expect that from Matthew but not from you" she said looking at her friend from the rear view mirror. Nia shrugged carelessly.
"what? i would literally let her run me over and then i'd thank her for her charity" the curly haired girl said with a smile.
they all laughed at her words, "yeah, okay" Jade chuckled.
the events that took place the night before hadn't been mentioned to the group and Samantha was starting to wonder if she should say something. on one hand she needed to tell someone desperately but on the other it somehow felt like a secret. they didn't really do anything wrong or inappropriate but somehow it felt like Samantha had to keep it to herself. it was stupid though.. right? she could tell her friends they smoked and that's that, it's not a big deal. besides, they weren't exactly the kind to gossip, they only hung out with each other because they didn't like anyone else.
"can i tell you guys something and you all won't freak out?" Samantha said turning her body to the side so she was looking at all of them. Jade looked at her friend slightly worried.
"of course" she said quickly.
Samantha swallowed nervously, why was she acting like this? they'd probably just give her props for scoring a smoke sesh with the hot mom across the street and move onto the next conversation topic. "so i kind of had a smoke sesh with her last night" she rushed out her eyes moving from one face to another to see how they'd react.
they all looked equally confused by her words and one second turned into two and then three and four until finally Matthews loud laugh reached their ears. "holy shit. no way. howd that even happen?" he asked extremely amused.
the raven haired girl shrugged, "honestly? i don't even know. i was just smoking up front like always and she was just chilling on her balcony. i went over there to ask her if she'd keep me smoking on the dl and she said she would but only if i shared and yeah that's pretty much it" she nodded.
Nias eyebrows raised in surprise before she broke out into a huge grin just like Matthew. "damn, Sam. now i'm jealous your making moves on my future girl" she said earning and eye roll from the raven girl.
"shut up," she groaned in annoyance. Matthew laughed and held his hand up for a high five and Nia hit it with her own hand. "seriously though," she spoke once more her tone of voice indicating she really was serious. "what do you guys think that means?"
"honestly? probably that she saw the opportunity to get free weed from a teenage girl who's got the hots for her" Matthew shrugged
Nia nodded in agreement, "he's right" she said pointing at him.
in the end she was right when she said they'd just change the conversation topic because soon after they began to gossip about some girl who's pregnant in Matthews third period. she tried to listen into their conversation but she just couldn't wrap her head around it. was Matthew right? did Georgia just see an opportunity to get high for free? she wasn't sure why that idea hit a certain spot in her heart but it did and the tightened in her chest simply wouldn't go away. maybe it was just the fact that Georgia was using her, although she'd feel that way if anyone used her in general. at least that's what she told herself.
five minutes later Samantha realized they were still waiting on Maxine and decided she had enough. the girl buckled herself in and put the car in drive. the white Camry slowly pulled up to the front and the older sister rolled her window down. she saw Nora point at her and Maxine turn quickly after. "let's go" she said.
Max groaned, "but i'm still talking to Nora"
Samantha shrugged, "i don't care. i have to drop you off and then i have a shift at six so get in the car, Max"
the brunette rolled her eyes, "whatever" she sighed and said her goodbyes before marching toward the car angrily.
her shift was from six to ten. it was like any other work day and the three teens she drove home from school kept her company for an hour before Oliver dropped Natalie off and stayed for another hour. once it was eight Oliver and the other three teens left making him drive them all home. it usually always consisted of either the twins or Samantha driving them around. Matthew always offered to take his car but they didn't fit (and they were always afraid of fucking it up) and neither Jade or Natalie had one.
even though it was like any other work day she did see Ginny on a date with Hunter Chen. no idea how that happened but as soon as she got home Max bombarded her with questions, asking if she had seen them and what had happened between the two. in all honesty it looked like any regular date, they got fries to share and they seemed to be talking freely. there really wasn't anything to say about them, it was kind of disappointing. she would've loved to see one of them embarrass themselves or catch them making out in the bathroom.
Samantha shook her head at the thought, not everyone's first date was like here, she thought. the girl was in her room, she had just taken a shower and was in shorts and an oversized shirt. Ellen and Clint had gone to the school board meeting meaning Samantha and the twins went out to eat and she had to hear Max rant about how hot Georgia was and how Hunter and Ginny would make an amazing couple. it was just weird seeing Marcus so uncomfortable at everything Max was saying. she tried not to read too much into it though, if anything did happen between the two she'd rather not know about it.
the girl laughed at Matthews message from the group chat.
Teen titans
Matty: you gonna have another
smoke sesh wth the milf Sam?
Sam: ha ha. i'll make sure your the
last to know if i do;)
she felt her phone flood with more messages but decided to ignore them as she went to her closet and got out another bud. she already had two rolled, she was going to smoke one at work but she was too distracted by her friends talking about Ginny to do so. now she had an extra and she wasn't sure what to do with it. truly she did but she wasn't sure if the blonde woman was still awake at this hour.
the raven haired girl walked up to her window and pulled back the curtain, the house across the street was dark, much like it had been the day before. she bit her lip deep in thought, chances are she's asleep or not in the mood to talk to a high teen yet another night. but what if she was awake? and what if shes just waiting for her to come out. she groaned in frustration and walked away from the window, she grabbed the sweater she had worn the day before and threw it on before going back to the window and unlocking it. without much of a struggle she slid it open and began to climb down.
she hit the floor with ease and turned around, the girl sprinted down the street and toward the quiet house. the blonde woman wasn't there like she had been the day before and a defeated sigh left her lips. she felt stupid for even feeling this way, they smoked once, it wasn't something special or monumental that meant anything to the woman. she was just a teen that had the hots for her, just like Matthew had said. she felt stupid for even thinking otherwise, she was a seventeen year old who had a crush on her neighbor, what a fucking cliche.
she looked down at her white shoes and bit her lip, she'd probably just smoke them both by herself or save the other one for the party this Friday. with that the girl turned around ready to walk back to her house but she was quickly stopped from doing so. a light flickered on and a door opened behind her. she furrowed her eyebrows confused at first but any questions were quickly answered by a familiar voice.
"you got more weed?" the voice said making a smile turn on the tan girls lips. she turned back around and looked up to see Georgia looking down at her with an amused smile.
"had an extra, better then smoking alone, right?" she answered holding up the two blunts in one hand for the woman to see. Georgia rolled her eyes in slight amusement and motioned for her to come up. Samantha did so with butterflies in her stomach and a heart that seemed to want to beat out of her chest. the anticipation was too much and her hands were slightly shaky along with her breath. she hadn't felt like this in forever and it felt weird.
she climbed the railing a lot easier then she did the day before and when her feet landed she didn't let out a dramatic sigh of relief, even though she really want to. the blonde was sitting with her legs folded to the side, she had on a robe and a pair of shorts like the day before. and just like last night they didn't leave much to the imagination. Samantha tried her best to not stare, though. she sat down next to the blonde with a shy smile and took out the two rolled up blunts. she handed one to Georgia who grabbed it happily.
"i see you've upgraded" she commented as the younger girl took out her lighter.
the shorter girl shrugged, "had one left over and your a good smoking buddy" she said and motioned for the blonde to put the blunt up to her lips. Georgia did so and watched intently as Samantha flicked the lighter on and brought it up to it. she could see the freckles litter the girls skin, she didn't have any makeup on just like last night and she could see the slight eye bags under her eyes. the shorter girl trapped her lip in between her teeth as she focused on getting the blunt to burn. she could feel Georgias eyes on her and she was turning her best to ignore her.
finally the blunt lit and she pulled away almost instantly, she brought the one in her hand to her own lips and burnt it a lot quicker than she did with Georgia. she inhaled and then exhaled the smoke, a wave of calmness setting inside her. none of them spoke, all that could be see between them is the smoke they were each letting out of their mouth. they waited until they smoke about a fourth before Georgia decided to talk, she could see how nervous Samantha was and figured she wouldn't be making the effort to initiate a conversation like she did last time.
"Ginny went on a date" she said and blew the smoke out of her mouth. Samantha tried her best to not show a reaction, she was looking down at her shoes. her knees were up to her chest and she was hugging them with her arms.
"oh" Samantha nodded calmly, almost as if this was the first time she had heard about it.
Georgia raised a brow at the girl who still wouldn't look at her, she didn't buy it that Samantha wasn't already aware of it. she had seen first hand how much Max talked and there was no way it didn't come up at least once. "you didn't know?"
Samantha finally glanced at the blonde and shook her head, "oh no i did, i just wasn't sure if you knew" she shrugged.
Georgia looked at the girl even more confused if that was even possible. it took her a second to realize what she meant by her words, "you keep your dating life from your mom?" she accused, her eyebrow still lifted in question and Samantha chuckled.
"of course" the blonde was slightly shocked not only be her answer but by how carelessly she said, almost as if it wasn't a big deal at all. Samantha looked at Georgia when she realized how quiet she went and laughed at her reaction. "it's just easier," she shrugged "i can bring girls home and say they are just friends"
"and you think she believes you?"
Samantha shrugged again, "probably not but she'd never ask" she said and took a long drag.
Georgia nodded, "so you're the favorite?"
Samanthas back shook as she let out a humorous laugh "hah no. i just earned her trust, i never gave her a reason to have to ask questions so she just doesn't" she said and ran her hand through her hair lazily.
Georgia nodded in understanding. she watched the way Samanthas free hand would tick every couple of seconds, it seemed to be uncontrollable and Samantha didn't seem to be aware she was even doing it. that made her think about her conversation a couple hours earlier. they were in the same spot she is now with her daughter smoking the weed she confiscated from Marcus. the irony. she thought about how Ellen told her Samantha and Max were gay and how she and Clint were supportive of it. she never mentioned either of them having a girlfriend though and that made her wonder about the girl Samantha was always in the car with. the girl she was sitting beside at Blue farm when they first met or on the hood of her car when they were with their friends. there were so many times she saw them together and wondered if they were together. "are you dating that girl with black hair?"
Samantha looked at the woman in question, who was she talking about? the only girl she could think of that Georgia had seen her with was Jade but that was ridiculous. they'd never done anything to make anyone think they were dating. "Jade?" she asked with furrowed brows.
the blonde finally pried her eyes away from the raven haired girl and glanced down at her hand. "i don't know" she said simply.
Samantha chuckled at the thought of anyone thinking they were a thing. it's not Jade wasn't her type but she just never wanted the group dynamic to get messed up. it was already feeling really weird with Matthew and Nia, she didn't want to add onto it. "no. she's my best friend" she explained.
the blonde nodded and blew the smoke out of her mouth, it was godly. "she's pretty"
Samantha nodded in agreement, "oh incredibly so" she confirmed "but that would fuck up our friend group dynamic and we just don't care for it"
the blond hummed, "so your not dating anyone?"
with a shake of her head the girl responded "not right now. i don't really date if i'm honest" the words were leaving her mouth with a lot more ease, she was high to the point in which she didn't really think about her answers before saying them. in fact by now she had put out the small blunt and left it in the ashtray between them. she wondered if Georgia smoked cigarettes as well. she was never a fan of them or the smell but simply the thought of the blonde beside her holding a deadly stick in her hand and smoking it made her stomach twist.
the blonde looked at the girl confused, "why not?"
Samantha shrugged, "it takes up a lot of time" she sighed with a slight shrug. she dropped her head onto her knee caps for support.
Georgia laughed "aren't you a teenager?" she asked almost as if what Samantha had just said sounded unbelievable to her.
"sure, that takes all AP classes, works and has to make time for her needy siblings and friends"
"you work?" the blonde questioned.
the girl nodded, "at blue farm"
she looked at Samantha confused, in fact at this point at this point the look on the woman's face was engraved in her head. it seemed as if everything Samantha said confused her. maybe it was just the high. "the twins don't" she stated.
she chuckled "the twins also don't have their own car or are able to go out at night without an explanation"
Georgia smiled with a nod, "so you've got it all figured out huh?"
Samantha shrugged a bit sheepish "i guess," she said and watched as Georgia hit the blunt lightly to get rid of the ash piled at the end of it. she was taking her time smoking and even though Samantha didn't know it was because she still felt a slight fuzz from when she smoked with Ellen. she realized Georgia wasn't going to talk, maybe excepting Samantha to elaborate more so she did, a lot more serious now. "i don't know, i did date someone last year but it was in secret and it got kinda fucked up"
finally Georgias attention was intently set on her at her previous words, "and who would that be?"
Samantha almost laughed, she wouldn't be getting an answer this quickly or at all, really. "wouldn't you like to know"
the blonde pouted, "oh come on, i'm not one of your friends, like i'd know or tell anyone" even though she looked incredibly cute and a part of Samantha was burning at the thought of Georgia begging her to know something about her life. it was almost ego boosting.
"i don't know about either of those, you probably know them by now and how can i be sure you won't go and blather go Ginny"
Georgia laughed loudly, "please, like i ever tell her anything"
Samantha looked at the blonde slightly amused at how she reacted, "maybe you have a point about that"
the blonde looked at Samantha intently expecting her to add to her sentence but the raven haired girl simply looked at the blonde with a smile that even though she shouldn't, she found incredibly endearing. "so your just not gonna tell me?"
Samantha shook her head. "nope." she said and stood up. "i'll see you around though Georgia" she said and winked at the blonde. Georgia looked at the girl climb down her balcony in slight bewilderment, mod expecting her to just up and leave her alone in the middle of a conversation. the raven haired girl glanced at the blonde one last time before running to her house with a huge grin displayed on her lips.
in that exact moment she knew she was fucked.
the rest of the week passed in a flash and friday came faster than expected. all four girls decided to get ready at Samanthas house. Oliver and Matthew had gone to the store to pick up a bottle to pregame and Samantha was more than ready to get wasted and not have to think about anything else other than who she's taking home. the raven haired girl was curling her hair, makeup already done. Nia had helped with her eyeliner and even offered her lipstick but Samantha declined. Nia only looked at the girl with a knowing look and continued on with her own makeup.
Jade and Natalie were already done, Jade was vaping on Samanthas bed whilst Natalie was talking to her. it didn't take long for the bedroom door open and Matthew and Oliver walk in with a black backpack. "what'd you get?" Samanthas asked and set the curling wand down. she ran her fingers through her hair to break the curls and make them look more natural. once she was done she stood from her vanity chair and looked at the two boys.
"vodka and fireball" Matthew said with a huge grin. he took the bag off his shoulder and threw it on the bed, the bag landing beside Jade who straightened up and began to unzip it.
"seriously? fireball? what the fuck?" Jade asked holding the bottle in her hand, practically reading everyone's thoughts.
"what?" Matthew chuckled, "it's the quickest and easiest way to get drunk" he said with a slight shrug.
Oliver laughed and hit the boy on the back twice, "yeah, the quickest way to end up on Anna's bed" he said referring to Matthews crazy ex. the boy shook his head with a horrified look.
"fuck no. i just didn't have any cash on me" he said and Samantha laughed.
"you could have told me, i have money" she said holding up a fifty. Matthew shrugged and sat down on the girls bed, his eyes lingered on Nias frame for a second too long before he craned his neck to look at Jade.
"you look very pretty" he complimented the girl with his signature smirk.
Jade laughed loudly, "fuck off. there'll be plenty of girls willing to have sex with you there"
Matthews mouth fell open in shock, "ouch. i was just giving you a polite compliment"
"to get into her pants" Natalie murmured bringing the vape Jade just had up to her lips. Oliver smiled proudly at his girlfriend and sat down on her lap, who was sitting on the beanbag at the corner of the room.
"i love you" he admitted and kissed her lips.
everyone let out a dramatic groan at the sight, "get a room" Nia said and grabbed the closet pillow near her and threw at her brother and his girlfriend. Oliver laughed as he held his hand up and caught it easily.
"you guys are so single. seriously, every single one of you needs to get laid asap" he said pointing at each of them.
"oh god, i know" Samantha admitted with a frown and walked toward Jade. the taller girl welcomed her with open arms, a genuine smile on her lips as she caught the girls body with her own and let her stay there.
Nia glanced at them and then turned to Oliver who was already looking at her. a second later Matthew stood from the bed and grabbed the bottle of vodka. "who's up for shots?" he asked and held the alcohol up.
Samantha's ears perked at the statement and she pulled away instantly, not fully just to the point in which she wasn't practically laying on the girl under her. "fuck yes. i need to get drunk as soon as possible" she said and took one of the plastic shots Matthew was handing out.
the teen boy went around with the bottle pouring everyone except for the twins a shot. they were both driving and they all had an agreement that the designated driver could never drink, even a drop of alcohol. once they all had their cup filled Matthew held his up in the air. "to the best senior year ever" he said making Jade and Samantha laugh.
"you are so corny"
he rolled his eyes, "come on, i'm serious"
the two glanced at one another with an amused smile before they turned toward Matthew and held their cup up as well. "to the best senior year ever" they repeated Matthews words and all hit his cup before bringing the cup to their lips and downing the liquor in one go.
once they had all swallowed Matthew put the bottle away and slung the bag over his shoulder. "we ready?"
they all nodded, each grabbing their perspective things and following the boy out of Samanthas room. the raven haired girl was wearing a long cardigan over her black mini dress. she'd rather not have her mom see her wearing a dress that barely covered her ass.
"hey guys," Ellen said smiling at each of them who greeted the woman back enthusiastically. "your leaving?" she asked directing her words to her daughter.
"yeah." she nodded with a smile.
the blonde nodded, "okay. just be back by two" she said earning a nod from her daughter.
"okay, Nia will probably bring me home" she said pointing at her friend who held her hand up in a slight wave at Ellen. the blonde mom smiled at Nia in appreciation.
"okay honey, just please be safe and call if you need anything" she said and Samantha held up a thumbs up. she kissed her mothers cheek and waved at her dad who recuperated the gesture. they each said goodbye to the woman as they shuffled out of the house.
"i love Ellen" Oliver said with a huge grin.
"you say that every time you come to my house" Samantha rolled her eyes.
"and i will never get tired of it. she's the best, i mean she asked no questions and let's you go out until two without you having to beg. i mean seriously, im in love with that woman" he concluded making his girlfriend smack his arm softly with a shake of her head.
"yes, Oliver. we know you have mommy issues now get in the damn car" Nia rolled her eyes at her brother and shoved past him.
Samantha got in the passenger seat of her friends car whilst Jade got in the back. Matthew had decided to ride with Oliver considering he had been victim of having to listen to their 'girl talk' more than once. the raven haired girl let out a cloud of smoke from her nose and mouth as she rapidly texted Marcus to leave the back door open.
"so," Nia spoke glancing at her friend who threw her phone on her lap. "are you actually going to get laid tonight or was that just all talk?"
Samantha threw her head back in a laugh, of course she'd ask her this. ever since her breakup with a certain girl last year she had been wanting her friend to move onto someone else. in all honesty Samantha had slept with other people since but they never led to anything further than them leaving their number and her throwing it in the trash the next day.
"i don't know," she shrugged, "i hooked up with Kim from spanish didn't i?" she asked looking at her friend.
Nia snorted out a laugh, "and when she asked you if you wanted to go out the day after you said no so that really doesn't count" she shook her head.
Samantha sighed, "so what i'm hearing is that you don't want me to get laid but that you want me to get a girlfriend" she confirmed.
Nia shrugged, "maybe? would that be so bad? you have to get over A-"
"don't" Samantha snapped immediately cutting the girl off before she could even get another syllable out. Nias mouth closed shut in that instant watching as her friend turned to look at the road with her arms crossed.
the girl sighed heavily, "look, i just think it isn't healthy that you can't even say her name anymore. why don't you hook up with Sophie?" she offered and Jade wiggled herself between the consoles. she turned her head toward Samantha and pointed a finger at her as she nodded her head.
"yeah, i actually kinda miss hanging out with her. plus she's actually in our grade and there's history there" she said making Samantha laugh.
"yeah and my sister has a massive crush on her so she'd kill me for that"
the two girls in the car groaned at her words, "seriously, Samantha? when are you going to stop doing everything simply because it'll hurt Maxine's sensitive ass feelings?" Nia asked looking at her friend with a suddenly more serious expression.
the raven haired girl stayed quiet at that. she didn't exactly have anything to respond to that. she knew she coddled Max's feelings a little too much but she couldn't think of herself being the reason why her sister was hurt. she'd hate herself for doing that. besides, it's not like she could ever see Sophie that way. they had known each other since kindergarten and she had only ever been able to see her as a friend.
"not Sophie" she said simply and turned her eyes back onto the road. Jade and Nia looked at each other then Nia nodded.
"fine. but you have to give someone else a chance"
"and i will" Samantha agreed.
quiet giggles echoed throughout the dark and empty house as lips met one another in slight fury. hands were groping the girls waist and the other was holding her neck. the raven girls hands were wrapped in blonde locks and her lips were kissing the girl back hungrily. even though she had heels on the blonde holding her was still too tall and it was getting harder and harder to kiss her without tripping over her feet.
she pulled away from the kiss, her chest heaving and her lips swollen with red lipstick that belonged to the girl in front of her. the blonde - Emma, she thinks that's her name looked just as disbelieved as her. the girl had on a sparkly skirt and black tube top that showed the slight swell of her breasts, her hair was a mess and her cheeks were flushed. Samantha was sure she had on a matching color. "everyone's asleep so we have to be quiet" she said and the blonde quickly nodded.
an excitement filled her stomach at the thought of what was about to happen and she grabbed Emma's hand tightly, the two tried their best to tiptoe upstairs. even then Emma couldn't keep her hands off of the shorter latina. once they were on the top step Emma shoved the girl into the wall and leaned down to press her lips against the shorter girls heatedly. Samantha let out a small whimper in surprise, she let the kiss go on for a second before she shoved the blonde off by her shoulder softly.
"my room." she said simply and dragged the girl through the hallway until they were finally met with her door. she reached for the knob and twisted it to reveal her empty bedroom. the lamp on the girls nightstand was left on so she could see where to step, there were clothes scattered on the ground that were left when she was deciding on what to wear.
Emma's hand travels down to the girls buttocks where she squeezes firmly. Samantha giggles against the girls lips, she pulls away for a second before connecting their lips once more. she moves backwards until her back hits the closed door, she moves her right hand down the door until it reaches the doorknob, she twists the lock and then withdrawals her hand to place it back on the blondes shoulder.
"we have to be quiet" Samantha mumbled in between kisses, Emma nodded quickly and chased the girls lips. the raven haired girls lips moved against the blondes, greedily almost as if they were would be pulled apart at any second. Emma shoved her tongue in Samantha's mouth and the raven haired girl felt a rush of heat run down her body.
"fuck" she whispered and pulled away, Emma chuckled as she tried to control her breathing. Samantha leaned up to ghost her lips against the blondes in a teasing manner, Emma was about to connect them but the raven haired girl pulled away with a teasing smile. she grabbed the girls hand and walked backwards, leading her toward the bed. the girl had a smile on her lips, walking toward the bed until the back of the blondes knees were touching it and Samanthas back was facing the window.
she pushed the blonde down onto the bed with a smirk earning an amused smirk from Emma. Samantha took her heals off and kicked them to the side, Emma watched her intently and her breath stopped for a second as the shorter girl bent down, some of her chest being exposed as she climbed onto her lap. Emma was more than okay with her actions as she placed her hands on the girls waist and watched as the girl looked down at her with slightly parted lips and hooded eyes.
"you look so hot right now" Emma said lowly, Samantha's eyelashes fluttered as she looked down at her. her dress had risen up and was exposing almost all of herself from waist down. if she wasn't looking at her with those eyes, Emma would've already looked down to take a peak.
"yeah?" Samantha whispered in a sultry tone. Emma nodded immediately and the raven haired girl smiled, she reached for the blondes hand that was on her waist and moved it toward her front. the blonde glanced down at their hands and watched as the shorter girl trailed her hand inside her dress until she was met with her laced panties. a whimper echoed throughout the room as the blonde pressed down, Samantha arched her back at the feeling and Emma took the opportunity to lean up and press her lips on the girls neck. slowly Emma's free hand caressed the girls arm until she was touching her dress strap and began to pulled it down. the raven girl smiled and pushed the blondes head further into her neck whilst her left hand pushed her other dress strap down to help Emma pull it down.
once her chest was exposed Emma pulled away from her neck and looked at the pierced nipples in front of her. Samantha smirked cockily at the blondes reaction, after a year she had grown used to people reacting like this.
Emmas mouth latched onto the girls nipple making a breathy moan escape Samanthas lips. as the blonde was distracted on her body the raven haired girls mind drifted to something else or rather someone else. she wondered if the blonde was on the balcony, waiting for her to come out and have another smoke sesh. wondered if she was in her room doing things she shouldn't even be thinking about, wondered what if would feel like to have her mouth on her instead of Emma's. maybe unintentionally it was why she even chose Emma to take home. she was blonde, pretty and kind, the type of girl anyone would love to bring home to their parents. she just wasn't the girl Samanthas was thinking about.
instead she was thinking about the woman across the street who was watching the two teens hook up from her balcony. Samantha had thought of just that happening when she left the curtains open before she left for the party.
her smirk widened and she pushed the blonde down by her shoulders. Emma looked up at Samantha with pure excitement and shorter girl reached over her to turn the lamp off.
she didn't have to look out the window to know she was looking at them. she just knew. and she wouldn't be giving her the chance to see any part of her, no matter how much she wished she was on Georgias lap and not Emma's.

for @dreamtydraw — cove: scenario 6, gn!reader note from nia: THANK U FOR REQUESTING PLS :(( i can’t believe u’ve been around since at least march . like that is baby nia on tumblr time. like not really but also yes. wtf. nd i didn't realize until i finished but like. cove doesn't say a lot here . HELP. sorry cove. i hope u enjoy !!!
join my 2k follower event :D
Tumblr media
cove wonders if you can hear his heart beating, if you can see the sweat on his face, if you’ve noticed the way he’s been fiddling with his fingers, hands sitting on his lap as you do his makeup. you had asked to do it, tired of the show rerun playing, with a promise that you’d wipe it off before anyone could come home and tease him. and cove could never really say no to you, could he?
“cove?”
he startles at your voice, not realizing you’ve been looking at him for the past 5 seconds. “yeah?”
“did you hear what i said?”
“um...no?”
your sit back and your lip twitches a little, stopping a smile as you explain, “i said i’m gonna need you to close your eyes in a bit. we’re at the dreaded eyeliner.”
“oh.” he blinks but manages a nod and small “okay.” it’s not like he didn’t trust you to do his eyeliner—cove trusted you with everything, he always did. it’s the fact that you’d have to get even closer to him, and if you couldn’t already see his nerves from where you stood, you definitely would now.
you move to stand in front of him, making eye contact the whole time. “i have to get pretty close to make sure this doesn’t go…wrong. is that alright?”
and for someone who’s dating you and has gotten plenty close before, cove thinks his heart beat becomes embarrassingly fast at the genuine concern in your eyes. but his own soften as he takes a breath and nods, “yeah. i’m ready.”
you smile, “promise i’ll do my best not to poke you.”
cove sends his own smile and “thanks,” in return before he holds his breath as you draw nearer. you’re close enough that your legs are against each others, and he’s suddenly very focused on his breaths not being too deep, too fast, too slow, too hot against the skin of your hand. in fact, focusing on it is one of two things keeping him from closing his eyes and turning away too early as you press the pen to the corner of his eye.
the other is the fact that you look nice, he thinks. you always do, but (even with his limited eye movement) cove can’t help but let his gaze linger on every feature of your face, not usually able to see you this close.
“can you look down for me?” your voice is soft but cove still feels it against his cheek. it brings him back to the reality of the situation, and he’s very, very happy to shut his eyes.
“thank you. i’m almost done. i just need to…” your voice trails off as you focus on steadying your line work. you're about to say you're done when you feel warmth under the side of your hand. it’s then that your focus wavers and you finally look at cove—how he’s chewing on his lip and fiddling with the bottom hem of his shirt, face red from your current position. and it's your turn to realize just how close you are right now.
you glance down where you’re positioned in between his legs, one hand cupping his face as the other rests on his cheek. you choke out a noise, unable to form a coherent sentence as cove's eyes shoot open in response and worry. the two of you stare at each other for what seems like minutes before you clear your throat and move back. “um, all done!”
cove blinks once, twice. “you are? really?”
“mhm, was just a simple wing,” you explain quickly. he stares up at you, and with the newfound distance you’re able to breathe and look at your work. you squint, your gaze flickering across his face. a few beats have already passed when cove decides to tease, still with a hint of concern in his voice, "is this a good contemplating look, or a bad one? should i be worried about my face right now?"
a grin flashes across your face as you shake your head, “a good one. you look pretty. and handsome. i should do this for you to wear at school tomorrow."
and cove holden wasn’t really a makeup person—the thought of doing this again easily gets something between a yelp and whine out of him (for a multitude of reasons.) it’s even enough that he doesn’t ask to see himself, only realizing that as you pass him the mirror, asking for his opinion. but even though he can still feel the heat of his flustered state, god did he wonder if he really could get you to practice on him again, just one more time?

SECRETS go! make sure they're safe! summary. when erik makes his way back to wakanda to fight for his spot. and along the way he runs into a familiar face. pairing. erik 'killmonger' stevens x black!reader word count. 3.19k
previous | next series masterlist | masterlist
Wakanda 2018              Finally, months after being on a strenuous mission in Europe [Your Name] was home in Wakanda. She smiled as she flew into the city, an overwhelming feeling of happiness washed over her. Soon, she would be able to see her family after debriefing with her superiors about her mission.
Unbuckling herself she made her way to the front of the carrier sitting next to Xoliswa, she smiled at the Dora before looking onto Wakanda once again.
“As many times as I’ve seen this view, I never tire of it.”
“I feel the exact same way, [Your Name]. Especially the sunset, it’s truly breathtaking.”  Xoliswa responded.
An uneasy feeling settled upon [Your Name] as the sunset was mentioned. Nodding agreeing with Xoliswa, as the carrier started to land. The two made small talk as they gathered their items making their way off the aircraft, where they were met with another member of the Dora and [Your Name]’s older brother. As they made their way onto the runway she noticed a worried expression on the faces of her the Dora and her brother.
“Is everything alright? Did something happen to the kids while I was gone?” [Your Name] questioned becoming a distressed, thing that something happened to her children.
Her brother brought her into a hug. “No, nothing happened to them, but there was an attack at the United Nations summit in Vienna-”
“Is the T’Challa okay?” [Your Name] queried interrupting her brother.
“Yes, the new King is fine but King T’Chaka didn’t make it.” Her brother scanned her face for any sense of grief, which thankfully for [Your Name] being the amazing actress she is her features did show a form of grief.
But not for the King losing his life, but for Queen Mother losing her husband and for T’challa and Shuri losing their father. [Your Name] knew too much about what the King had done to ever feel sorry for him, not after what he had done.
Removing herself from her brother she looked up at him, clearing her throat. “Can we go to my mother’s? I just need to hold my children.”
He nodded grabbing the rest of his sister’s luggage taking it to his vehicle. While she made her way over to the two Dora’s to explain how she was feeling. Waiting a moment for them to finish their conversation she interjected starting a conversation with Xoliswa.
“Xoliswa, can you ask Okoye if I can report to her tomorrow. I need a little time to spend with my family.”
“Sure, I’ll ask Okoye to make sure. She’ll probably ask you to come to the council meeting later in the afternoon to report to her afterward.”
“Perfect, I just want to be home when the kids go to bed to make them feel a little bit more secure knowing what happened recently”
The two talked for a few more minutes until she made her way to the vehicle, getting in quickly he started to the car and they made their way to their mothers. After a few moments, the two siblings caught up on how the family was doing, her brother unlocked his phone showing her videos and pictures of their children playing together.
“Oh, Nia has gotten so big. It feels like the last time I saw her she could barely crawl!” She exclaimed looking at her niece chasing after her two children in their grandmother’s garden.
The ride continued as her brother told her the story of how her son N’Jobi pushed their great aunt after he heard her talking down on his mother. And the kicker of the story was that his Grandmother did nothing about it but ‘scold’ him, but in turn, when the aunt left gave him a few extra treats.
“I promise you; mother was so happy when she left! He is truly something else, and every time he sees her he doesn’t even want to speak to her.”
Laughing, [Your Name] shook her head as she thought about his actions. It reminded her a lot about their father. How when someone used to be rude how quick he was to put them in their place. Even though they never met their father they were so much like him, in the best ways.
“What can I say, they get it from their father.” She mentioned watching a few houses pass by, noting to herself that they were close to their destination.
“Speaking of which, why don’t you ever mention him to the rest of us. We don’t even know his name, where he was from. Hell, where you even met him.” This made her mood turn slightly sour.
“Here, we go!” She mumbled under her breath. “Because it’s honestly no one’s business. He didn’t want to be in their lives, so he’s not. It’s that simple and it happened while I was on a mission and I would’ve had to tell him why I was there. So, it worked out for the best so let’s leave it at that!”
No matter how many times he was brought up, she always shut down the topic of the children’s father. It was essential that no one knew who he was, especially when King T’Chaka was alive.
The last few moments of the car ride was slightly awkward for the siblings. As they pulled into the driveway of their mother’s home, her brother Abel locked the car door turning towards her.
“Look, I know he’s a touchy subject for you. I try to empathize with you on that, but your children need to know at least a little bit about him.”
Sighing she turned towards her brother with a small smile on her face. “I completely understand why you guys worry about them not knowing about him. And they do, I tell them stories about him all the time but no one else besides mom knows who he is. I mean who really he is, where he’s from and we keep it that way for a reason. I wish, I could tell you right now I really do, and I will eventually after I tell them who he is. But that’s not going to be for a while, and you have to be okay with that.”
He agreed to try to understand where she’s coming from, soon unlocking the car. The two made their way to the trunk of the car getting her luggage, they soon made their way into the house. And without warning [Your Name] was being tackled with hugs from her younger sister Kali.
The two greeted each other making their way further into the house, she eventually put her luggage in the guest room towards the back of the house before making her way into the kitchen. She took notice that her children didn’t even know she was back since they were making brownies with their grandmother.
“Well, well, well I’m pretty sure I have no sugar after 8 rule. But I see grandma chose to ignore that!” She announced playfully.
A chorus of word excitement was heard throughout the kitchen as her children ran towards her as she bent down to catch them in her arms. Kissing their heads, she hugged them tighter, not wanting to let them go.
“Oh, how I have missed the two of you!” She kissed all over each of their faces causing them to giggle and in return the kissed her all over her face.
Soon enough the trio broke up, [Your Name] made her way over to her mother with a child on each him and gave her mother a kiss on the cheek. Her mother smiled at her giving her a hug, which ended up being a hug between the four of them.
Amala -her mother- smiled pulling away from the hug, place a hand softly along her child’s cheek.
“Honey, you look so tired. Go, lay down I have the kids for the rest of the night.” This made the children whine about wanting to spend time with their mom after not seeing her for so long.
This went on for a few moments, which caused a chuckle from [Your Name] and her siblings as their mother had a playful argument with her grandchildren.
“Hey, hey no arguing with your grandmother. Now, mother, I’ll take your advice and go rest but all of us are going to have a family day in the Golden City tomorrow. We’ll leave here around 10 and from there we will decide on what to do.”
The family agreed to this but not without the mother saying she had a meeting sometime in the afternoon so she would most likely have to slip away for a bit. Which they all understood since she is the tribe elder. The group of six talked while [Your Name] ate leftovers from dinner, she mostly paid attention to her children talk about their school projects. How they had a musical performance coming up soon, which thankfully [Your Name] would be able to make it to.
After about an hour of hanging out, she made her way to the guest room. Doing her night routine, she climbed into bed getting comfortable for sleep. She checked her phone quickly seeing the Okoye agreed to the debriefing for tomorrow since she was away on a last-minute mission. Responding quickly, she felt her bed dip, she turned around to see her children getting comfortable. Putting her phone down, she pulled Nayla closer to her left while N’Jobi moved to her right and soon the three of them fell asleep.
NEXT DAY             After having breakfast and getting ready the family was off to the golden city to the local park. For the kids to have a little fun before they went shopping, since [Your Name] has been looking for a new place closer to her family. Once, they got to the park the kids went off to play on the playscape, while the adults sat at a table not too far away from the play area.
They watched the kids play for about thirty minutes before [Your Name] and Abel joined the children. Kali and Amala sat at the table chatting about Kali’s school life. How college was going when everyone ran up to the table. Abel went into the cooler handing the kid’s juice boxes while he got everyone else a water bottle.
“So [Your Name] are you gonna have any missions anytime soon? Or are you gonna take a break?” Kali asked catching her sister off guard.
“I think I’m gonna retire from being a spy soon to help Abel with his business also, to be around more since the kids are getting older. And since he declined to be next in line as a council member for the tribe. Mom will probably have me start preparing for that.”
“I keep forgetting he turned down the council. But-” Before Kali could finish their mother got a call on her Kimyo beads from the princess.
“Hello, Princess Shuri what do I owe this pleasure?” Amala asked walking away from the table to take the call.
The two sisters looked at each other confused before shrugging continuing to watch the kids play and talking. It had been a good fifteen minutes before their mother came back tapping her eldest daughter’s shoulder.
“I am so sorry to do this honey, but we have an emergency meeting. And you being the next in line, you have to come.” [Your Name] sighed looking at her mother before running her hands over her face.
“Alright give me a minute to talk to Nai and Jobi.” Her mother nodded making her wat to her car.
Making her way towards the two children running around with their cousins, she calls out their names to which they run over towards her.
“Mommy has to go to a meeting with Grandma but to make up for me having to leave we can have a movie night. Just the three of us and then the next day we can do whatever you guys want, and I mean anything.”
N’Jobi smacked his lips playfully. “You really mean anything?”
This made his mother and sister giggle before responding. “Yes, anything now gives mama a hug so I can get this meeting over with to be able to hang out with my babies.”
Sighing heavily Nayla gave her a tight hug, kissing her cheek and N’Jobi soon followed. Standing up again she shooed them off to go play, making her way to her mother’s car. Getting into the car, she buckled up as her mother drove off.
“Did she say anything as to why this Emergency meeting was called?”
“No, not really just said T’Challa thinks this country needs a bit of change.” Turning to her mother with a surprised face.
“Oh, really now! I wonder what caused this change of heart, it’s not like we’ve been saying this since Prince N’Jobu died mysteriously!” This caused her mother to smack her leg.
“Hush! We will not speak of that, especially so close to the palace. You know he has an excellent hearing with the strength of de black pantha!” [Your Name] cackled at her mothers’ antics as they pulled onto the palace grounds.
Before the two knew it they were leaving the car making their way to the room where the meeting will be held. After arriving the meeting started and T’Challa suggested that Wakanda open up their resources to the rest of the world, [Your Name] was surprised by this as an argument started between the council. That was until the doors to the room opened and in walked Wakabi with a man she knew all too well.
Diverting her attention away from him, she looked at the Queen Mother as Wakabi brought forth Erik. As he explained that Erik was the son of the late Prince N’Jobu, she felt her stomach drop as they made eye contact. A lump formed into her throat as he argued with her mother along with the royal family.
As he made his declaration that he wanted to fight for the throne his eyes shift to [Your Name]. He continues looking at her before being escorted out of the room to prepare for the combat ceremony.  As he left her eyes followed him, the last time she saw him he looked the same way. Sweaty, eyes and breathing erratic as he screams his argument to anyone that will hear.
Massachusetts 2014          Erik sat in his car waiting for [Your Name] to show up to her apartment. It had been about a week since she told him she was pregnant, they hadn’t talked. She tended to avoid him whenever they were around their friends, he wanted to try and at least leave things on a better note and to see what she planned on doing with the child.
He let out a deep breath getting out of his car once he noticed her parking her car. She got out of her car quickly making her way to her apartment. He followed behind her calling her name.
“[Your Name]! I know you hear me talking to you!” He yelled after her jogging to catch up to her.
Turning around she stopped walking to look at him. “What the fuck could you possibly want Erik?”
“Woah, Woah watch the attitude I just came here to talk.” This caused her face to turn up in annoyance.
“Nigga fuck you! The fuck you mean watch my attitude? You’re the one-” His hand covered her mouth as he stared her down.
“Shut the fuck up and open the door so we can talk about this. I don’t want your nosey ass neighbors all in our business.” Rolling her eyes at the pure aggressiveness of Erik’s tone, she snatched his hand off of her mouth.
Moving away from him she unlocked her apartment, walking into her apartment she put her bags down on the kitchen counter. Erik closed the door making his way towards her.
“So, what do you want? I thought the last time we talked we were done.” She stated impatiently, getting water from the fridge.
“So, that’s it we’re broken up? You’re just gonna leave me because we’re not ready for a kid!” She looked at Erik like he was crazy for raising his voice at her, in her damn apartment.
“Yes, that’s a good enough reason you jackass! Now if you don’t mind please, get the fuck out!”
“Nah, I’m not leaving until we fix this, baby. Look, I love you-“ [Your Name] scuffed at him once again.
“Erik, if you loved me you would’ve acted completely different when I told you. It’s not the fact that you don’t want this child, because guess what I can’t afford one right now either. I’m really hurt that-” Her voice broke as she thought about how little he made her feel.
“It’s the fact that you treated me like some random you fucked and turned up at your door pregnant. I know more about you than any other bitch ever will, and the fact that you talked to me like I was some random bitch off the street. It is exactly why I’m done with you E.” Wiping the tears away from her face, she studied his expression.
Which happened to mirror hers, his eyes were lined with tears.
Present Day           Snapping out of her haze, [Your Name] saw that her mother was watching her in concern. But, be it as it may her mother wasn’t the only one who notices, Queen Ramonda had also noticed the exchange of looks between [Your Name] and her nephew. Taking note of the events that had just happened Ramonda walked over to the two women, telling them that they should start heading to the waterfall for the ceremony.
“I’ll join you two in a moment I need to make a quick call to check up on the kids.” Excusing herself [Your Name] quickly made her way into a secluded part of the palace to call her sister. Waiting impatiently for her sister to answer the phone, she needed to make sure her children were far, far away from this. She knows how determined Erik is when he wants something, and in this case, he won’t stop until he or T’Challa is dead. Finally, after calling multiple times Kali answered.
“Hey, sorry  I didn’t-”
“There’s no time for formalities, I need you to take the children up to the Jabari and ask for M’Baku to watch them.”
This took Kali back as she heard the sheer fear and worry in her sisters’ voice. “Wait, why, what’s going on?”
“To say the least their father is back and it’s not for the better. Now please take them to him, I’ll catch you up on this later, just please get them to the Jabari as soon as possible.” Kali agreed
Hanging up the call, [Your Name] took a deep breath before making her way to the waterfalls. As she made her way through the grounds she had a feeling this wasn’t going to end in a way that the elders or even the rest of the kingdom hopped.

Joining The Superfriends - 22
Tumblr media
Read it on AO3 here!
Lena settles back into her recliner and hugs Teddy Eddie to her chest, wrapping her arms around him and pushing her nose into his fur.
She closes her eyes and tilts her head back after a moment, basking in the peaceful quiet of her safe space. Today has been more than hectic with everything that happened with Nia and she can scarcely believe that she actually travelled into another person’s dreams, it’s truly insane to think about. It’s not something she’s ever going to willingly try again though, despite it happening in the dream, her boob still hurts a little from where Nia tossed a candle at it. I suppose it just lets her know that the stories are true, get hurt in a dream and you get hurt in real life, or worse, if you die in a dream, you die in real life too.
It's a lot to take in so having this time now, in the space that is her own and nobody else’s, it’s everything. This is something she’s never had before and it’s everything she’s always wished for but until recently, never dared to believe she could have, until she got it that is.
Her life has reached a strange point, one in which everything is simultaneously amazing and absolutely terrible at the same time, her mind drifting between being just content and full of crazed panic. It’s a wonder she’s able to get any sleep at night at all with the way she’s constantly flipping between the two.
She’s away from her family, that’s a major plus. She’s got a place of her own, and she’s very much on her way to having a girlfriend. Not only that, but the girlfriend in question is a complete and utter goddess, Supergirl herself. Lex would have a heart attack if he ever found out.
Lex, ugh.
He’s the main cause of all of the bad things in her life, even now when she doesn’t have anything to do with him. Especially now. She just can’t escape his disgusting clutches, he’s determined to force his way into her life again and is willing to do whatever it takes to do that, to kill whoever it takes to do that. That’s the scariest part.
On top of that, she’s pretty darn certain that Nia’s reoccurring dream that made her so tired her brain literally forced her into a lucid coma has something to do with him. He’s the one person on this planet that Lena is certain would destroy the entire world with every person on it just to enact his revenge against one person. Or in this case, probably a couple, she’s become his target just as much as Superman ever was and while it does stroke her ego a little to be grouped with a Kryptonian, it’s mostly just scary.
Just thinking about it makes her nervous and her fingers start raking down through the soft fur of the bear she’s become really emotionally attached to since Kara gave him to her. He reminds her of the bear she had as a child, the one her birth mother gave to her before she died, the one her adopted mother, Lillian, got rid of the day she turned seven because she was ‘too old for something so childish’. Thinking of that bear still makes her heart break just as much as it did that day and it makes her want to curl up and cry the way her seven-year-old-self did. She didn’t sleep properly for weeks without that bear to keep her company, her old reprieve from the life she was thrust into was stolen and it was a lot for a child to handle.
She moves him away from her chest so she can look at his little furry face. He’s cute and just knowing that he belonged to Kara first, that he provided her comfort in the way she’s getting now, it makes connects them in one more way and Lena loves any connection she can get with her.
Alex once mentioned that even she took a turn with Teddy Eddie and that makes her feel better too. Alex is so brave and strong that it’s easy to forget that someone like her might not be feeling as brave or as strong on the inside and she can see why Alex might have needed him too. It makes her feel less weak to be so fond of a silly little stuffed bear.
She tucks him under her arm and lets her eyes fall over her apartment, her space, her sanctuary. She loves every corner of this place. There are not many corners and not a whole lot of space between them either but it’s her home. She told Sam that she’s going to find a new place to move to once her lease is up and she really is going to do that but she’s going to enjoy every last second she can in this place while she has the chance to. This place has served her well and it would be a crime to let that go unappreciated.
It’s not just the apartment that has served her well though either. It’s the people that helped her build this space for herself that have served her well. Alex gifted her the furniture, Kara, the things that have helped make this place a home, specifically the painting she’s always enamoured by and spends at least ten minutes staring at before going to sleep each night, fascinated by the colours and the brushstrokes that show the story of Kara’s life behind them, and the little teddy bear that keeps her company. They have quickly become the things she treasures most, and she dreads the day she crosses paths with someone who needs the bear more than her because she won’t be able to say no to passing him on to do his duty in making the world a better place with his hugs.
If there’s one thing she’s learning though, it’s to drink in every good moment she can and commit them to memory because they are what will keep her warm at night, although if the night with Kara tells her anything, Kara is very good at making sure she doesn’t get cold, that woman is basically a walking space heater.
Her phone starts ringing and it actually makes her jump since she’s so in her head about reviewing everything going on in her life at present. She sees who the caller is and answers while praying the phone call is going to be short. She loves Sam but she’s far too tired for an hour-long call, the kind Sam likes best.
“Good evening, Samantha.”
“Do you have to be so weird?” Is Sam’s response, huffy and tired.
Lena’s lips quirk up at being able to be the one to annoy Sam for once. “Yes, I thought you’d appreciate it.”
“I would on any other day than today.”
“Why’s that? What’s happening?” Lena leans forward in her recliner, suddenly worried about her friend. It’s not normal for Sam to be anything other than happy and bright, or at least pretending to be so the fact that she’s being openly upset is troubling.
There’s a series of sighs coming from down the line as Sam tries her best to find the right words. “Luthor Corp is a mess, Lena. It has been since you left really. Without you down in the labs, barely anything gets done and what is done is, quite frankly, terrible. Lex is pissy that he can’t use any of it to do fuck-knows what and he’s been having shady meetings with a bunch of people nobody else knows anything about other than the fact that they have a lot of money.”
“So, what you’re saying is that my brother is probably doing a bunch of super illegal things, which is on brand for him, but he’s now doing it in a way that could affect not only the company but every employee if it gets found out?”
“That’s exactly what I’m saying. I have half a mind to report his shadiness myself and take away whatever bullshit he’s doing by taking away his headquarters of disaster, but he has too many connections and would find out who did it and I can’t risk Ruby in that way.”
“I know you can’t, but it isn’t a bad idea to get him away from Luthor Corp. Let me speak to Brainy tomorrow and see what we can do, alright?”
Sam’s tone clears up almost instantly. “That sounds really good.”
“Don’t expect a super-fast turnaround though, Sammy. We’ve had our own issues here since you left that we have to deal with. All I can say is that something big is coming and we have no idea what it is.”
“That is not helpful for my anxiety.”
“It’s not helpful for mine either but here we are,” Lena says, fingers still raking through the fur of the teddy bear tucked into her.
“Whatever, I have to go anyway, I’m making dinner, I just called to dump my issues on you,” Sam says, the smug annoying tone she usually speaks in back in place.
Lena hears it and snipes back at her. “What else do you ever call me for, you’re a very high-maintenance person, Sam.”
“Rude, I’m never speaking to you again, or at least until tomorrow.”
“Awesome, talk to you later, bye.”
“Bye.”
Lena is pleasantly surprised at the length of the call. She was expecting for it to have lasted way longer than that so she’s pretty happy with how short it was and with the fact that she managed to make Sam feel a little better in the process.
She drops her phone onto the arm of the recliner but doesn’t even have the opportunity to fully stretch her head back to rest against the back of the chair before there’s a pounding on the door. The kind that makes her heart sink because it sounds a hell of a lot like someone is about to try and knock her door down.
Before she can fully register what’s happening, the door opens and a figure comes barrelling in, or more like, stumbling in while almost failing to keep their balance.
“Kara? What are you doing?”
Kara regains her footing and drops several bags onto the counter before going back to shut the door. “You should really lock this, you know?”
“Well, I was going to when I go up again. I forgot to do it when I got home and couldn’t be bothered to get back up right away when I noticed. I wasn’t expecting anyone to come barging in.” Lena’s cheeks are bright red, a little embarrassed that she’s been caught cuddling with a teddy bear, even though Kara gave her the teddy bear.
Kara looks kind of guilty. “I didn’t mean to kick your door, I slipped on your welcome mat and then grabbed the handle to try and get my balance back but it opened and I fell inside. If you tell Alex I’ll have to kill you and nobody will find your body.”
“Oh, the mighty Supergirl can’t even stand up without falling over like a klutz, how can us mere humans ever cope in the shadow of such a powerful being?”
“You’re mean and if you don’t stop bullying me, I won’t share the food I brought over. I thought you might want to have dinner with me but I can see where I’m not wanted.” Kara makes to pick the bags of food back up and head out but Lena calls her bluff, staring her down until she’s beside the door and waiting for Lena to stop her. “You’re extra mean.”
Lena grins as Kara puts the bags down for a second time, not planning on leaving at all. “You don’t seem too upset about that.”
Kara lets out a dramatic sigh that belongs on a soap opera of some kind and looks over her shoulder to send Lena a withering look. “You’re lucky you’re so pretty.”
The words simultaneously make Lena blush and make her want to argue but Kara’s eyes have softened and she’s got a cute little smile across her face that makes Lena want to just get up and kiss her.
So she does.
Lena climbs to her feet, stumbling a little in the process as she hauls her ass off the recliner and ditches Teddy Eddie on the seat. She practically launches herself across the room and grabs Kara by the back of her neck to bring her into a kiss that she most definitely was not expecting. Not that she’s complaining though. Not at all. In fact, Kara greets her movements with a vigour of her own, gripping her around her waist to keep her close and when they part, it’s with a breathless giggle that makes Lena kiss her again.
Kara only lets it go on for a minute and for a second, Lena thinks she’s done something wrong but then Kara whispers the most unsexy things she could have said in the moment.
“The food is going cold.”
“You…” Lena frowns. “Did you just stop us kissing because you’re hungry?”
“Your lips aren’t going to go cold if I wait an hour, the food will.” Kara shrugs, unpacking the bags to reveal a whole load of Thai food. “I even got you something healthy since you’ve been complaining about all of the extra calories I’ve been forcing on you by bringing you take-out all the time.”
Lena really needs Kara to stop being cute because it’s making her want to kiss her again and she can’t do that at the minute because all of a sudden, Kara only has eyes for the food she’s unpacking and wasting no time digging into.
“And…I’ve lost you to the food.”
“Only temporarily, don’t worry. Here, this is for you but I got a few extras in case you want to indulge.” Kara slides over the food she ordered specifically for Lena.
Lena takes it with a hint of a smile. “We both know you ordered the extras for you and are only offering them to get into my good books.”
“I’m always in your good books so that’s pointless.”
Lena moves back to her chair, moving Teddy Eddie onto her pillow so she doesn’t accidentally get any food on him. Kara follows her and perches on the side of the bed, bouncing a little on the mattress as she lands. “That’s awfully presumptuous of you Kara Danvers.”
“I think it’s just a given.” Kara grins.
Lena rolls her eyes and changes the subject from Kara being insufferable. “Whatever you say. Now, have you spoken to Nia since everything happened?”
“Briefly. She’s doing better. She says she’s tired but nowhere near as tired as she was before she was sucked into the lucid dream. I think she’s more worried about what’s going to come at us since her dream was that bad she was forced into a lucid dream to protect her. Something really bad is coming and I’m not exactly thrilled about the prospect of it.”
“Me neither. It’s actually been something that’s been on my mind too. I’m thinking of updating the Tower’s security systems, maybe finding a way to block off the entry points in a pinch because the bugs got inside way too easily before and we had no way to stop them. I think we also need to get our heads in the game with surveillance.”
“I think that sounds very sensible.” Kara’s joking attitude dwindles as the conversation turns more serious. “It’s definitely making me nervous that we have no idea when our lives are going to become a hell of a lot more complicated.”
Lena nods, shovelling her food into her mouth and swallowing her bite before speaking. “Yeah. I hope it waits for me to move places though. It would be a pain to move in the middle of an apocalypse or something.”
Kara’s eyebrows shoot up, her eyes growing wide. “Wait, hold up. So, first of all, please don’t jinx us by saying we’re going to be trapped in an apocalypse and second of all, when are you moving places?”
“Oh yeah, I promised Sam and Jack that I’ll move when my lease is up, they are worried about me living in this area so I agreed if only to not have to listen to them complaining about it.”
“Well, when the time comes, I’ll give you a hand moving your things over and I’m sure Alex won’t mind helping either.” Kara looks quite pleased with the news and it becomes clear to Lena that this is what Kara had been hoping for, that she too is worried about Lena living in this area. She had mentioned it when she first found out about the apartment and was helping her out but hasn’t really mentioned it since so Lena had assumed she had gotten over it but that’s not true, she was simply allowing Lena to make her own decisions.
The freedom that Kara gives her is so refreshing that it makes her yearn for it all the more, to want the independence she’s never had and run with it for as long and as far as she can.
“I appreciate that. I haven’t got much longer left on my lease so I’m going to have to start looking for a place really, really soon. Would you mind giving me a hand with that? You know the city much better than I do and I need somewhere that’s safe enough I don’t hear any complaints but cheap enough my bank account doesn’t cry.”
“Of course, This is so exciting! I know which areas you want to look at already, oh, actually, can you make a list of the things you’re looking for in a place? I want to find you the best place I can.” Kara is grinning at the very thought of it and when Lena looks down, Kara has kicked off her shoes which means she's now displaying her toes as they curl in excitement. Damn, this woman is too cute. She needs to leave her shoes somewhere nobody will trip over them though.
Lena holds her hands up, a chuckle bubbling in her throat. “Woah, woah, slow down there, tiger. I just want something similar to what I have now. I love the cosy size of it and I am perfectly happy with just the bare minimum. I don’t care what it looks like or what facilities are available. Just having a space that is my own is enough for me.”
Kara mirrors Lena’s outstretched hands, ready to debate but making them look like a pair of mimes practising for a show. “I hear you but just because you’re ok with having the bare minimum, that doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve better. Think about it, don’t you want a place with a bathtub so you can have a soak after a long, hard day? Maybe with some bubbles, a glass of wine and a good book?” Kara can see Lena wavering. “You could have a place with enough space for a rug. I love a good rug; don’t you like a rug?”
Lena tilts her head, giving in with a smile that can’t be restrained. “I do like a rug.”
“You don’t need a massive place for those things, you just have to be open to paying a tiny bit extra to treat yourself because you’re special and you deserve it.”
Lena looks down for a moment as she feels her cheeks glow in a faint blush she’s almost embarrassed by. “Maybe I should look over my finances and see what I can spare for rent. Thanks to a certain job, I have a better budget than I had when I got this place.”
Kara finishes up her food while Lena talks. “Ok, you do that and I’ll start looking at what’s up for rent at the minute, let’s go, let’s go, round up the troops.”
Lena doesn’t move, just keeps slowly chewing. “You need to chill. There’s no rush.”
“But I—”
“Kara, I’m not rushing my food to look at finances, that’s boring. I’ll look after I’ve finished eating.” With her words, Kara loses the pouty puppy-dog look she was developing and her expression lightens immensely.
“Wait, you’re going to look?”
“Yes. Now, I think there’s still some of the extras you got on the counter, you forgot to grab them because they were behind the bag.” Lena points over to the counter but before her arm is even properly outstretched, Kara is tripping over her shoes and landing on the floor with a thunk. Lena can’t even react though because, in less time than it took her to fall, Kara is up and standing over the food left on the counter, already digging into it.
Lena opens her mouth to speak but there’s nothing but genuine shock in her system so it takes a moment for her to find words. “That was, well…ok.”
Kara smiles, her cheeks full of food, making her look like an adorable little chipmunk. Lena wants to kiss her again but it’s clear that’s not happening because the second they finish it looks like they are going to be doing some research on apartments. Just what Lena wants to be doing. Not. At least she’s doing it with Kara. That does make things a hell of a lot better.
-
“How do I end up in situations like this?” Lena complains, pinching the bridge of her nose between a thumb and a finger.
Kara shrugs next to her, sheepish. “Sorry.”
“Literally the first place we’re viewing and we get trapped in the elevator. It’s just my luck.”
“I can get us out if you need me to desperately but I don’t really want to give myself away as being an—”
“I get it.” Lena looks over at Kara, who is leaning against the wall opposite her, both keeping the doors to the elevator to one side of them and the mirrored back to their other side. “I’ll just cross this one off the list. This is a terrible first impression and there’s not going to be a second one.”
Kara nods. “I think that’s smart.”
Lena clicks her tongue rhythmically, her eyes darting around the metal death box they’re trapped in. “Do you think it would be passable if you managed to pry the doors open?”
Kara shrugs while pulling her glasses down her nose before using her X-ray vision to take a peek out at what is right outside of the doors. “No can do, buckaroo. We’re between floors.”
“Ugh. So, what now? We just wait and hope someone will eventually answer this garbage alarm button?”
Kara jams her finger onto the button again, nothing visually happens when she does so and no ringing happens either. “I guess so. Someone will find us though, there’s what, fifty units here? Someone will try and use the elevator and figure it’s broken or since we came early, the real estate agent who’s meant to show us around the place will figure it out when we don’t show up.”
“Kara, I’m halfway through arming the new security systems at the Tower, this was only meant to be a quick errand, not an all-day event, I’ve got to finish up the system.” Lena pulls her eyebrows together and rakes her fingers through her loose hair, stressed and a little panicky at the feeling of being so trapped, especially for an undetermined amount of time.
There’s nothing Kara can do except stand there awkwardly and try to come up with a solution that could work but there’s really not much she can do. She wants to make Lena feel better but it’s obvious that the only way she can do that is by getting them out of the situation but she can’t do that since their phones aren’t getting a signal and they haven’t had a response since they pressed the alert button, something they have done around half a dozen times at this point.
Kara leans her head back against the wall and as her eyes fall on the ceiling tiles of the elevator, she formulates a plan. With her x-ray vision, she can see that if they climb out of the top, they can ‘climb’ the beams and she can open the doors onto the level above them. Of course, she’ll actually fly them up there but if anyone questions, they can just say they managed to climb it.
“Hey, I’ve got an idea.” Kara grins and double checks there’s no camera, which there isn’t, thankfully. Then she floats up enough to shift a tile out of the way and make sure their path is clear, which it is.
Keeping the tile to one side, she floats back down and holds her arms out for Lena to step into. “Come on, let’s get you out of here.”
Lena is certainly not about to argue and presses herself into Kara, her arms coming out to wrap around Kara’s neck while Kara’s wrap around her waist before she’s being lifted into the air.
“Are you ok?” Kara asks as they gradually make their way up the elevator shaft.
“I’m good, just please keep going,” Lena replies, her grip on Kara strong enough that if she were to use that much force on a human, they would wake up with bruises the next day.
“Almost there.” Kara hovers beside the doors for a moment before realizing there was a flaw in her plan. She looks around and sees a thin ledge and flies towards it. “I’m going to need you to be super brave for me for a moment, Lena.”
Lena’s eyes are screwed shut so she has no idea what’s happening but she doesn’t like the tone Kara is using. “Why?”
“I need to put you down for a minute on a ledge so I can open the doors. Just keep your eyes shut and lean back into the wall. I’ll be right here if you fall but that won’t happen if you just press back away from the edge.”
Lena is not happy with the words coming out of Kara’s mouth and is not on board with that plan. She opens her eyes to assess what ledge Kara is talking about and she only sets her sights on it for a millisecond before she’s shaking her head dramatically. “Absolutely not.”
“I can’t hold you and get the doors open at the same time. The only other way is for me to let go of you and you hold yourself up on me.”
“Kara, I’m scared, I can’t do it. You know I don’t like heights.” Lena's lips tremble along with every bone in her body, fear coursing through her.
Kara squeezes her tighter for a moment before moving to the ledge, setting Lena’s feet down and holding her so she doesn’t fall. “Just get a feel for it. I’d put you back in the elevator until the doors are open if I could but I can’t risk someone looking down and seeing me flying you back up. Just get a feel for it and close your eyes, push back into the wall.”
Lena does as she’s told, her eyes drifting closed and her weight settling back. There’s just enough space that her feet are completely planted but that doesn’t make her feel much better.
“I’m only a couple of meters away, just stay how you are, you’re doing so good,” Kara reassures her, backing away from her slowly and then rushing to open the door, getting it open after using her x-ray vision once again, this time to check the coast is clear and she isn’t about to open the doors and show herself flying in front of a whole bunch of people.
Since it is clear, she gets the doors open with pretty much no effort and then uses a burst of her super-speed to grab Lena and move her out into the hallway. Lena gasps into her ear with the movement, not registering what is happening for a moment, causing a massive rush of adrenaline because she thought, for a moment, that she was falling to her death.
Safe from their predicament, they end up in a hug, one that grounds the pair of them. For Lena, it provides a safety net, a warmth that proves she’s out of the situation, and for Kara, it’s a finish line. Proof she solved the problem and an end to a few nerve-wracking minutes where she thought she might have accidentally outed her identity.
“That was not fun. Shall we get out of here?”
Lena answers quickly. “Yes, and next time, I’ll make the plans for viewings.”
“I’m not going to fight you on that.” Kara smiles. “Let’s get back to the Tower so you can keep working on that security system.”
“Are you going to stick around for a little while or do you have to get back to the office?” Lena asks, locating the stairwell and beginning her descent.
Kara checks her watch, following close behind her. “Um, I have a little while but I’ll have to go in a bit, I’ve got to go and meet with a guy for an article so I only have just over an hour.”
They have never been so glad as to be out of a building as that one and Lena takes one last look at it before Kara flies them back to remind herself to never go anywhere near it again if she can help it.
She’s not a fan of flying but she had to admit defeat and simply gets Kara to agree to fly slowly because she couldn’t borrow Alex’s car since she’s having a day out with Kelly and Esme. It’s actually not too bad though, not when she closes her eyes and just relaxes into Kara’s strong body as she’s held bridal style.
They land on the balcony of the Tower and Kara’s not surprised when Lena makes her way down the stairs on shaky legs before heading right for the kitchen with only a mumble of, “I need a cup of coffee the size of my head and I need it stronger than any alcohol I’ve ever had before. In fact, maybe I’ll make it an Irish coffee.”
Kara has to keep an eye on her to make sure she’s not about to do any day drinking, at least not when she’s doing security things. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
By the time Lena is sitting back at her desk with her laptop open in front of her, she’s a lot more relaxed and she’s feeling much better, or her legs have stopped shaking at least.
Kara sets herself up at the end of her desk and gets her laptop out too, content to do some research for her article while Lena does her work, happy to be in the same space as her, especially since it’s a space they aren’t trapped in and it’s an actual room instead of an elevator, something that Lena would like to avoid where possible from now on. Lena’s going to have to learn where the stairs are in the Tower just to avoid the elevator but then again, she’s never seen any so she might just have to get J’onn to do a little bit of home improvement.
They work like that for a little while, simply just sitting in silence with the tap tap tapping of their fingers on their keyboards as they type filling the air. They both jump when a resounding knock breaks their concentration.
They turn to the door to find Nia standing there awkwardly, waving at them jauntily despite the awkward stance though.
“Hey, Nia. How are you?” Lena greets her. “How have you been?”
“Better.” Nia smiles, grabbing a chair and taking a seat, “I’ve been sleeping a lot better but I’m still having lucid dreams so that’s the main reason for that. I think that whatever is coming, is coming soon.”
“Winter?” Kara adds, completely unhelpfully.
Nia sighs and facepalms. “I don’t think this is Game of Thrones.”
“Bad joke, I see that now.” Kara’s cheeks redden in a blush that takes no time to cover her skin, “I’d take it back if I could.”
“As you should.” Lena winces, replaying the joke in her head and immediately wishing she didn’t. “So, Nia, have you noticed anything out that might make you think that it’s going to be soon before shit goes down?”
Nia nods, the movement hesitant, scared she’s going to freak them out. “I have.”
Lena’s eyes widen a fraction but that’s the only giveaway that she’s heard the sentence at all.
“A large portion of the aliens in the city have been on edge, at least they are on edge enough that they have been staying as far away from the social scene as they can. Al’s bar has been practically deserted this past week.”
“Al’s bar?” Lena questions.
“It’s an alien bar. We go there sometimes; you should actually come the next time we go but you keep turning us down when we ask if you want to come for drinks after work.”
Lena freezes at being called out for her aversion to going out with the team after work. She’s going to have to go with them sometime to prove them wrong now. “Right, yes. That makes sense.”
“I haven’t been able to find out what they all know that has made them do that but I’m working on it, it could really give us some good insight.”
“That sounds good, keep up the good work, Nia.” Kara smiles at her. “Actually, how about we head over to Al’s tonight? I can meet you there at six if you want to grab some fries and a couple of beers.”
Nia’s face lights up but there’s a devilish glint in her eyes that makes both Kara and Lena nervous. Only one of them needs to be nervous though. “Lena, I think this is your opportunity to broaden your horizons. I think your brainpower would be really useful out there today so you’ll have to come with us.”
Lena looks to Kara for help. She’s open to going someday, just not today. She faces a betrayal like no other as Kara’s eyes light up so bright she might as well be staring into a pair of disco balls with a flashlight beaming at them. “I think that’s a great idea, Nia.”
“Lena and I will meet you there at six then,” Nia confirms, cutting Lena off before she can even speak, the words rushing out because she saw Lena open her mouth to argue.
Upon realizing that she has no way to argue with them and becoming resigned to the fact she just sinks back into her chair, mentally preparing herself for the evening she’s going to have. “Whatever, it can’t be as bad as the day I’ve had so far.”
“What?” Nia tilts her head, confused.
Kara pulls a face, one of guilt and disdain for the events that transpired. “We went to view an apartment today.”
Nia looks mildly intrigued but doesn’t say anything, just waits for Kara to elaborate.
“We didn’t see the apartment but we did see the elevator because we got trapped in it and I had to fly us out of the top of it and onto the floor above.”
“I don’t know if I want to go out for drinks with the pair of you if you’re bringing bad luck with you.” Nia stretches and her back cracks with a pop that makes Kara’s lips pull down in disgust. Her body doesn’t often crack because of her physiology but the sound of it in other people makes her shudder in repulsion.
“I’m ok with not going.” Lena takes the opportunity.
“Don’t even bother fighting, Lena. It’s happening.” Nia shakes her head softly and there’s amusement on her face that makes Lena dread the evening even more. Today can’t get any worse.
