Mofun Collab ENNEAD cafe event from 24 November 2023-24 December 2023, with new merch + food in Seoul, Korea
Tumblr media
So a cafe in Seoul is doing an ENNEAD event from late November to December, where people can reserve spots to go eat there and reserve merch to buy. This includes some new art and old art on new merch, for posters, coasters, art cards, acrylic standees, light-up displays, enamel pins, stickers, and at the cafe, a line of drinks and snacks. The store on Mofun is open and ships internationally! One proxy linked at the bottom beneath the Keep reading. Mofun is going to stop taking pre-orders after 24 December 2023 KST, so it's unclear if the merch will be available to order after that point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some proxies are popping up in different places. Koonbooks (the main international proxy for ENNEAD merch) is listing most of the merch, but it's at a high mark-up, even for them, and that's before the cost of shipping.
instagram
If you look for a proxy, keep an eye out on price versus shipping and any other fees you might be paying, particularly if you need more than one proxy. The Korean prices are listed on the images in the tweets above if you want to see just how much more you're paying for your proxy (with the caveat those Korean prices don't include taxes or shipping fees you'd have to be paying for other services).

"God of War" Seth x "God of the Moon" Reader (Ennead) Pt. 1
========================
Seth attended one of Ra's meetings, he expected it to be the same boring announcements she makes every now and then.
But this time when he entered the hall he was greeted by someone standing in the middle of the gigantic hall, to be judged.
A God with a falcon mask and a huge disk on top stood in the middle of the gigantic hall, braving against Ra's absolute dominance.
"Is that all, Ra?" The God with the Falcon mask asked as if he was determined to leave already.
Seth quietly made his way next to Nephthys.
He pointed at the strange scene happening and asked, "What's going on?"
Nephthys sighed and questioned, "You know great uncle Khonshu?" Seth nodded. "He's going to leave."
His eyes widened with shock but the mask covering his face covered it, but the way his voice echoed around the hall did not. "What?!"
Seth's voice echoed in the large hall of judgment, taking the attention off the God of the Moon, Khonshu.
"Hm?" The God, Khonshu whom Seth thought was being judged, but was instead leaving turned his head to look for the source of the sound.
Nephthys looked away from Seth and acted as if she did not know the man, silently sighing inside her head.
And Seth looked around as if he wasn't the one who just shouted.
Ra snickered, taking the attention off whatever just happened, and teased Khonshu. "Awe, leaving so soon? Don't you even miss me?"
(Khonshu pov)
"Absolutely not." You were determined to leave already after hearing about your banishment. You were sure spending more time with Ra has to be deteriorating your mind.
"Don't you want to meet your grand-nephews who I'm pretty sure don't know you?" Ra asked as she sat on her throne with her head resting on her hand.
You repeated your previous answer. "Absolutely not."
"Suit yourself then."
"Goodbye, my dearest Khonshu." She said with affection lacing her voice. You, in turn, looked at her with disgust but your mask hid it from her, but the way she snickered made you think she just saw your expression.
With a sigh, you turned your back on her and silently made your way towards the exit. You were one step away from the exit when Ra opened her mouth again and said the following words, that stopped you from exiting quickly.
"The doors to Ennead will always be open for you."
You turned your head over your shoulder and said, "Close it the fuck up." While you were turning your head again to look in front, did you see Seth with his mouth wide open, shocked, baffled, and extremely impressed.
Your gaze only lasted for less than a second, but Seth felt the way your eyes scanned him. As if you were dissecting him.
When you finally opened the door to exit the hall, Seth realized that was the first and last time he would see you for a while.
========================
Seth has tried for each night for many thousands of years to try and summon you, call for you, anything to interact with you. But all of them failed. But still, he never stopped trying, much to his brother's dismay.
You were growing tired of his pestering, and you left Ennead to not deal with useless things, but perhaps you should've just stayed if it meant Seth would not bother you at all.
He gave up trying to summon you, but instead replaced it with stories of his days, from his hunting with his son to his thoughts about his family. Treating you as if you were some diary of some sort.
Their son sometimes did it as well, albeit less than both his parents. From his love for his mother to his idolization for his father. The boy's stories amused you the most, the way his stories were a bit more unreal than how his father told them made you chuckle.
His wife also did it, she rambled each Sunday about how adorable Anubis was and how cute Seth was around her.
One night she seemed down, her stories were not as lively, and her eyes didn't gaze at the moon with pure adoration, but instead, she gazed at the moon as if she was asking for forgiveness.
"I love them very much, what I did was wrong I know...if I were to tell them the truth...would they find it in their heart to forgive me?"
========================
A few years passed, but it seemed to pass by with not much of a problem. Everyone seemed to have heard about the family treating you as a diary and they started to do it too. Making you scratch your head in annoyance.
Ra did it once but seeing how the moon turned pure black suddenly she didn't do it anymore.
========================
Perhaps it was because you didn't sleep for a few nights, or perhaps it was the boredom coming to give you hallucinations to keep you entertained.
But was Seth being raped by his own brother?
You waved the thought off your mind, but the way Seth, The God of War, Seth cried made you doubt if this really was a hallucination.
--------------------------------------
Seth escaped Osiris's grasp and ran outside to try and run away from his 'Brother'. He was crying, he didn't know he was crying. Perhaps he couldn't feel it or think about it when he was running away from his so-called 'Brother'.
"You bastard..." Seth gasped out as he tried to cover himself up, feeling sick down to his stomach.
Osiris said nothing and tried to reach Seth but was stopped by a pure white spear.
"What the fuck are you doing Osiris? Have you gone so low as to touch your own brother against his will?"
A familiar voice asked. A voice Seth was oh so unfamiliar yet familiar with. He had only heard it once, but he made sure to never forget it.
"Do not meddle with my problems, Khonshu."
You put your hands in the air "I'm not meddling with yours," Making Seth's heart drop. You pointed at Seth who was shivering, "I'm meddling with his."
========================
"You know, if I knew that saving you would cause the death of thousands, I wouldn't have saved you."
"But you did."
"Unfortunately, I did."
Seth tilted his head, and the strands of his hair followed suit. "Will you finally stop me, after many years?" He asked as his eyes turned into what you think, resembles crescent moons.
"No." You answered as you sat down on a seat right across from him seemingly to be put there just for you.
"Well, why are you here then?" He asked as he slurred his words.
"Checking on you."
"Why?"
"Your child, Anubis was it? Told me about your conditions."
His eyes widened at your words, as he sat up and asked shakily. "Anubis? Do you know where he is now?"
Your eyes scanned his face if the worry in his voice matched the expression on his face. The worry on his face doesn't match the Seth everyone talks about, the selfish, killing machine, and absolute maniac Seth.
But this was someone else. The Seth that Nephthys always seemed to boast about while they were married, the Seth that cares about his family. She always rambled about this side of Seth on full moons as if she were talking with you.
You visited her one night, but that's a story for another time.
You sighed, "I'm not sure if this is your child, he seems to be out of it." with a snap of your fingers a child entered the room filled with the smell of alcohol.
Not wasting a second, Seth the God of War stood up and ran to hug the boy. "Anubis!"
Your eyes scanned the boy's expression and whispered to yourself. "That's not Anubis..."
"Well, whatever..."
"...Whatever makes this madman happy for now."
========================
(A few years pass by)
"Great uncle! Can you teach me more moves?"
"Stop following me Horus."
---------------------------------------
"Great uncle, can you tell me more stories about your adventures?"
"Not you too Anubis..."
========================
They kept pestering you, and you were not having it. A light bulb lit up in your head. There is only one place they would both avoid,
Seth's temple.
"So tell me, oh great and amazing Khonshu, what are you doing here?" Seth asked playfully as he patted the seat beside him, motioning the you to take a seat with him.
You shook your head to decline and answered him honestly, "Your nephew and your child keep bothering me in my temple."
"And this is the only place they would both avoid." You grumbled.
Silence filled the intoxicated room until Seth suddenly opened his mouth.
"Did you know that I rambled to you a long time ago? As if you were some sort of a diary."
You stayed silent for a second, "I do."
He stood up and asked, "Do you remember all of them?"
You were feeling a bit in danger with how his mask suddenly started to form on his head. You chuckled a bit and answered honestly "I do."
He started walking towards you and asked, "Do you know why I did them?"
"No." You answered honestly. You stayed seated, curious as to what Seth would do.
He stopped right in front of you and said, "Because I wanted to annoy you." You raised your eyebrow at him, "To try and summon you to stop me from annoying you."
He kneeled in front of you and took your hand, "I wonder why you never stopped me..."
You took your hand away from his if he were to suddenly stand up you would be out of there. "Know your boundaries."
He stood up, you were going to run away but the sands suddenly chaining your hands stopped you.
"You're intoxicated you bastard." You tried to reason.
He ignored your words as one of his hands gripped your chin and the other gripped your mask as he mumbled. "How do you look under that mask, Khonshu..."
"Great uncle?"

(In my head khonshu is like on of Ra's direct descendant)

Egyptian gods - The Ennead, Nephthys
The Ennead is nine gods – three times three. So I will cover a third deity to complete this first look at the Ennead. Osiris, you say? No. Yes it is expected for him to complete the Seth and Isis duo, but I want to do something different, and place back under the light a goddess too often forgotten. Seth’s wife, Isis’s sister: the goddess Nephthys.
Poor Nephthys doesn’t get much attention today among the children of Nut and Geb, but it is because she herself did not had much “autonomy” or “independence” in her own mythology and religion… Nephthys name rarely appears alone. She is always either Seth’s wife, either Isis’ sister. Nephthys has an especially strong bond with Isis: together, the two goddesses were depicted protecting the dead on the cover of sarcophagus – a “funeral goddess” role that is due to her participation in the “Legend of Osiris”, where she helped Isis find back the corpse-pieces of the mutilated body of Osiris, gave him with Isis the last funeral rites, and helped during his mummification. She and Isis notably acted as mourners, singing throughout Egypt a beautiful and mystic funeral song we still have today in Ancient Egyptian texts – a song asking for the dead pharaoh to return to them in his original shape, so they can “forget his enemy”, asking for the dead to abandon his anger so they can all rejoice in his resurrection, a song asking him to take back his rightful inheritance and to rule again in his own house – so that the land itself may resurrect…
Isis and Nephthys were more than very good and very close sisters: they were complementary goddesses, almost twin figures. Isis was a goddess of life, of motherhood and healing, wife of the god of vegetation, immortality and resurrection, whereas Nephthys was a goddess of the afterlife, of the shadow and of funerals, married to the god of the desert, chaos, the storm and hostility. Isis gave birth to Horus and was his loving mother – but it was Nephthys that acted as Horus’ nurse, rocking his cradle, lulling him to sleep. The Text of the Pyramids called her the “nursing-mother” of Horus, opposing the “birth-mother” that was Isis. And finally, whereas Isis was the wife of Osiris… Nephthys was his lover.
This story is the most famous legend of Nephthys (and her only true story beyond her participation to the search of Osiris’ corpse). Note that this seems to be a late story, coming from a more “recent” form of mythology trying to tie together the various bits and parts of older legends. But the story goes as this: Nephthys and Seth soon realized that they couldn’t produce a child together. Some read it as Seth’s fault – since he is the god of the desert and of all things venomous and hostile, it makes sense he would be as arid and sterile as what he embodies… Other rather accuse Nephthys herself, the Text of the Pyramids calls her a “concubine without a womb”. But in the version of the story as it came to me, the sterility of the couple was due to Seth, and Nephthys, obsessed with the idea of becoming a mother and having a child, decided to cheat on Seth, to have sex behind her husband’s back to obtain a child. And she decided to use her own brother for this purpose: Osiris. However Osiris is a good, wise and virtuous king, a god of justice and faithfulness who would never cheat on Isis. So Nephthys put together a plan… One evening, as she found herself alone with Osiris, she offered him a lot of food, and a lot of alcohol, ultimately making Osiris fully drunk. Once he is ready to pass out, Nephthys plays a number of seduction on him, and convinces him to sleep with her, manipulating him until she finally obtained what she wanted. She slept with Osiris just once, and from this single night of drunken love, a child was born; the god Anubis. A new problem arose however… Seth knows he cannot have a child, and Nephthys, so obsessed with becoming a mother, forgot that the wrath and fury of her husband could destroy her and her babe… Nephthys, to hide her unfaithfulness, was forced to abandon Anubis in the swamps bordering the Nile, so avoid the vengeance of her dreaded husband. Hopefully for her, Isis actually learned of her sister having an illegitimate child – and unable to let a child to die (especially since herself also didn’t have any child with Osiris), she took Anubis away from the swamps and decided to adopt him, raising him as her own son, much to the relief of everybody in the known. Only Seth ignored of this entire business – Osiris, Nephthys, Isis, they all knew about this night of extra-marital love. How did Isis knew, you ask? Well, in the morning, Isis found in her husband’s bed a crown of flowers… a crown that she had seen Nephthys wear the previous day. But Isis, always ever so close with her sister, forgave her enough to save her child from death – and later Nephthys returned her kindness, by siding with Isis and Horus against Seth during the numerous trials for the throne of Egypt.
Two additional facts about this story. 1) The fact Nephthys got Osiris drunk is to put in relation to a series of pictures and depictions of Nephthys found in Edfu, Behbeit or Dendera, where she was depicted as taking part in festivities and merriments, most notably receiving beer from the pharaoh himself, in return of blessing him so that he could party with “no hangovers”. Yep, that was literally what was written. 2) The failed and bizarre unloving marriage between Nephthys and Seth was apparently (at least according to Wikipedia) explained by some recent Egyptologist research, that placed forward the theory that the union of Seth and Nephthys is a “recent” invention, or rather part of a “late” addition to the myths. As in, Nephthys was recognized as Seth’s wife in Egyptian mythology, yes… But she seems to have been only the wife of Seth under his “positive” aspect of the bodyguard of the Sun ; meanwhile, in the Osirian legend, where Seth appears under his “negative” aspect of the jealous murderer and greedy usurper, Nephthys wasn’t thought of as Seth’s wife, but rather as Isis’ assistant, and Horus co-mother. Mind you, take all this info with a grain of salt: I just found it when looking at Wikipedia to double-check my sources, and this apparently comes from recent studies.
Just like Isis, Nephthys was usually depicted as a regular human woman, wearing on her head the two symbols forming her name: “neb”, a basket, and “hwt”. “Hwt” is… debated by experts. For some it is “the plan of the house” and thus means “house”. For others it is rather the “great wall that surrounds large buildings” and thus means either “palace” or “temple”. So the literal name of Nephthys (Nebhwt, that the Greeks turned into Nephthys, but that could be spelled in a more Egyptian way as Nebet-Het) means “Mistress of the House”, “Mistress of the Palace” or “Lady of the Temple”. She was also called the “Helpful Goddess” or the “Excellent Goddess”, epithets referring her role as a divine assistant and protective guardian when it came to the moment of death and the passing in the afterlife (opposing Isis’ assistance during childbirth). And due to her motherhood of Anubis, she was paired with him in Memphis and called “Queen of the embalmer’s shop”. Similarly to Isis, Nephthys was also sometimes depicted with kite wings (or falcon wings), or herself turning into a kite – again, this is most prevalent when she plays her role as a funeral/afterlife goddess, her wings wrapped around the dead symbolizing her protection. The Egyptian hawk was notably tied to Nephthys because its cries were associated with the laments and mournful screams typical of Egyptian rituals.
