NekuShiki question time! :)
1. Would they want to have kids? How do they tell each other?
2. Is there any scenario/au you would like to see them in (more often)?
3. How do they make up after a fight?
I think they would, but not a lot of them. I'm thinking either one or two. And I have no idea how they would tell eachother, so i'm going to skip that part x)
A scenario I'd like to see more often... I think them making mistakes. being imperfect. hurting eachother and working through it. being young, being free, being the teenagers they weren't allowed to be because of Neku's second death. Because Shiki spent three years waiting, and Neku spent three years in purgatory, and now that they're back in the RG they should get silly with it. I think part of what makes me like them a lot in an highschool setting (after the og, before A New Day, or in an AU) is that they're usually very imperfect and clumsy there, but they still love eachother anyway, so much. Also I love the idea of both suddenly getting a group of friends when they were pretty lonely before XD
I'd say it depends of the fight. If it's a small one, not really high stakes, they just got annoyed or frustrated but none of them is really hurt, they'd do something silly like a joke to the other one and move on, or just help them out with something. They wouldn't need to talk about it. If the fight was a serious one though (I think they'd be rare but still happen sometimes), they would first need time to chill. Shiki, especially. Neku is pretty chill after neo, but I think Shiki can still get mad pretty easily because she's very stubborn and adamant on some things. Time might have eased her rough edges, but they're still lying beneath the smooth surface. So firstly they'd take a break x) And then they'd be able to talk about it. Their talks may vary in lenght, some might be very quick and some might take multiple hours if the issue was a big one, but they don't leave anything unsaid, whether it's positive (remaining silent on his feelings for Shiki before A New Day was... maybe not a Good Choice for Neku, and he knows it. Shiki can only know how much good other people think of her if they tell her outright) or negative. Neku might need to push Shiki sometimes to voice the negative parts... because she's so happy he's back that she refuses to admit that some things might be wrong. Neku on the other hand is more likely to remain silent on very small things that bother him than to do so on important stuff. He'll compromise on which restaurant Shiki wants to go all the time, accepting her choice way more often than imposing his, but he won't lie on the important stuff, because if it remains unsaid it'll never be solved. The only issue is that he might be too brutally honest on those sometimes ^^" But in any case, before moving on, they'll hug and make sure each of them feels validated and loved, both to ease Shiki's anxiety, and to reassure Neku on his trauma of isolation.

a few nekushiki questions from me ^^ 1)Who do you think would confess first? 2) What do you think would happen if Shiki got jealous of Eri being close to Neku because she liked him (before they start dating)
1.) Who confessed first?
In the universe where A New Day never happened, I like to think it's Neku who confessed first. But like, he's super slow about it and mostly just dropping hints at first (he's shy and awkward about it) he thinks that the entry fee confession is enough 'hint' about how he feels, but Shiki doesn't really take it that way, she does like him but thinks if Neku is ever interested in her in that way it's probably because she looked like Eri at some point (it actually isn't) and the fact that Neku doesn't make any moves after they returned to the RG (it's more of him being really inexperienced and not knowing what he's supposed to do) sorta convinces her that the Entry Fee thing doesn't really mean anything. It took him awhile to realize he should have been more clear about how he feels about her if he wants to take their relationship somewhere.
As for the universe where A New Day happened, Shiki is the one who confessed. Neku's feelings about her never really changed (if anything he had primarily used her as his main motivation to return home) but he was aware a lot could've happened in 3 years and he decided not to pursue his feelings because he no longer felt like he's worth her time. Finding out Shiki actually has had a relationship (my personal HC) during the time he was gone added to it. Overall post-neo he suffered a lot of self-worth issues and just feeling out of place, especially after seeing Shiki has gone up and beyond with being the co-CEO of the current most popular brand around. It took Shiki telling him how much he meant to her that he finally got the courage to do something with it.
2.) How does Shiki handle her jealousy post-game?
Shiki's jealousy actually extends to not just Neku, but the rest of the gang. She's aware with how charismatic Eri is and at first she actually hesitates to introduce her to her 'new friends' out of fear that they might like her more and leave her behind like the many times it had happened with her schoolmates. But after Eri grows even more nosey and Beat and Rhyme actually expressed interest in meeting her, she finally caves in and just tries to accept it if her worst fear really does come true (Eri and Beat did end up getting along well, but that's it)
After awhile, she just takes it in stride. Accepting that it's natural that people would like Eri more than her and tries to just be happy for her friend. At some point, Neku and Eri got some time alone together (maybe he lost a bet and now he had to carry Eri's shopping bags during a shopping spree. Which ends up being essentially a date) Shiki's response? She just jokingly said he got lucky he got to go on a date with the popular Eri just like during the Reaper's Game (while burying her own jealousy of course)
Overall, she still has the habit of covering up how she really felt when it comes to her resentment towards her best friend (I mean, how are you supposed to be upfront about it?) And tries to manage it in a bit healthier way (with varying results) trying not to put herself down as much but also trying not to think too much of 'it should've been me!' all the time, and that she cannot control about how other people feels about her.

Neshiki question time! :)
1. What made you ship them?
2. When and how would they tell their friends they are dating?
3. Share some romantic/fluffy headcanons!
1.) what didn't?? like the first game (and anime, which i was already watching- "I cant even hold her" gave me the feels) had me shipping them by the end of week 1 pretty solidly, then neku was doing the whole pining and self doubting thing p much all of week 2 like that's way more than just some crush, and week 3 just puts the nail in the coffin... then another day happens and neku disappears for three years and shiki waited for him every single day.
2.) They probably werent "officially" dating until after the events of Neo, and I feel like they wouldn't make a big show out of telling people, but the Twisters definitely thought they were already dating and Beat, Rhyme, and Eri (and Josh I guess but nobody told him) defs knew they liked each other even before neku disappeared that part was never a secret. telling everyone they're engaged tho...
3.) falling asleep on each other during movie dates... and study dates... and during sleepovers... beat or eri put the blanket on them...

NekuShiki question time! :)
1. They meet each other's parents for the first time. What's happening? (Alternatively: How do their parents react once they go steady with each other?)
2. Give us an AU idea with the cuties you would love to see/write/read about (more often).
3. What's their favorite feature about each other?
1. I’d imagine that Shiki brings Neku home for dinner because her Mom wants to meet him. She’s ecstatic to meet the boy that’s been such a positive impact on Shiki. Shiki’s Dad is the classic, love my daughter must protec, hates all boys they are all bad. I feel like her Dad works in security or law enforcement, so he knows a punk when he sees one XD. So Shiki’s Mom is all, “please eat more you are so skinny,” and her Dad’s like, “hm, is that your natural hair, grunt, what do you do for a living, grunt.” (They are older teens at this point, Neku’s probably going through college and creating art on the side, oh this is after NEO by the way.) Her Dad tolerates/warms up to Neku because he also saw how low his daughter’s self esteem was, which worried him, and that Neku helped her manage it. Neku’s obviously nervous to met her folks, not because he wants their approval, but because they are important to Shiki, and that means they will be important to him too. He’s also not used to her mother being to doting and caring. When her Dad finally stops glaring at him and treats him like a son after some years, it emotionally affects Neku for the better.
For Neku, I always thought that his relationship with his parents was complicated, like even before NEO. I headcanonned that his Dad’s some corporate worker, like a banker or works in finance; he doesn’t really care for what Neku does as long as he stays out of his way and out of trouble. Neku’s Mom’s a lawyer, and she is warmer than his father but is equally busy, and can be neglectful at times. She’s the type to send him money for special occasions like his birthday rather than be there to celebrate it. So he doesn’t really bother to tell his folks that he’s dating someone. They might even find out more so from social, like oh the CEO of Gatto Nero’s got a beau, and they see a picture of his orange hair and recognize that he’s their son. When Neku’s Mom realizes that she barely knows her son, and feels like it’s to late, she reaches out to him, and Shiki immediately goes to work trying to help build their relationship. It’s a bit icy, but at least his Mom’s trying and really loves and appreciates Shiki. His Dad comes much much later into the picture. Dang I didn’t expect this to be this long, I hope I answered the question? Lol
2. Sooo I’m not a huge AU fan, (I know I’m sorry) but I’m a big figure skating fan, and during the Olympics I started a figure skating AU. It’s going to be a one shot, and I’m working out the details with a friend, so stay tuned for that. Summary-wise, and this might change when I post it, but Neku and Josh are representing Japan at the Beijing Olympics in Men’s singles, and Neku tears his costume right before the competition, thankfully someone comes to his rescue and helps him but he doesn’t catch her name. He hopes to see her again to thank her of course, and he’s in luck because she seems to be friends with a skater that’s considered the most beautiful in the women’s competition. (Ugh that’s definitely getting revamped).
3. Physical feature wise, Shiki would say it’s his face, (“isn’t he just so handsome and cool,” she coos, smushing his cheeks together.) Neku would say he doesn’t have one, she’s just the way he likes her.
Character wise, for Shiki, Neku’s best feature is his honesty. He’s still as blunt as he was when he was 15, but his delivery is a bit, softer? For Neku, Shiki’s best feature is her ability to see the good in everyone, and her ability to befriend pretty much anybody. She’s a social butterfly in her own right, even if she doesn’t think of herself as one.

NekuShiki question time! #3 :)
Do they have an evening routine?/Who stays up longer?
Describe NekuShiki in one sentence.
What's your thoughts on their wedding day?
Do they have an evening routine?/Who stays up longer?
Well beside my pervy mindset of the two in bed having fun, I also think there watch some TV, along with carry on there hobby with Neku with his art and Shiki with her seamstress.
As for who I think say up the longer, Well that Shiki, mostly to her workaholic tendencies that Neku offend drag Shiki to bed and try to make her take some sleepy pills, much to Shiki delight.
Describe NekuShiki in one sentence.
Shiki didn't love herself before Neku loved her back!
What's your thoughts on their wedding day?
I'll admit this is a tough one, like sure I do like the two being horny teenage and latter two wholesome Parents to there kids.
But the wedding? Well I'd think Shiki would to make a event, where Neku would prefer to be quick one, but he aren't complying. Maybe have it at Miyashita Park.
Beat and Eri would be the best man and woman respectfully. Coco being the flower girl (Neku did ask if it was other, sent Coco was insistent on being there flower girl. And to the surprised to everyone that knew the Reaper Game, Joshua made himself to be priest for the Wedding, giving them his blessing (and yes he made to look the same age as Neku).
There family, friends, the wicked twisters, some Reapers (both Shibuya and Shinjuku), some known former Players, even some of shop keeper and staff same to see the wedding.
I say it a wholesome event over all.

NekuShiki question time! #2 :)
How would their family and friends react to them being a couple?
Imagine they are marrying. Who would take on the others name and why?
Any headcanons on their drunken interactions?
1. Beat, Rhyme, and Eri saw it coming years ago. And are sort of surprised they didn't get together before, and are may have been trying to push them to. LOL
Josh may act jealous or something--because he loves messing with everyone--but we all know through Neo's ending that he actually ships them.
I like headcanons I've seen about Rindo thinking they were already dating. Shoka fully supports them, and will give Shiki all the support and advice she needs...even if Shoka's younger than Shiki. LOL. Nagi also probably fully supports it and Lady Shiki, tbh. I feel like Fret is maybe a little too caught up in EleStra, fashion, grieving Kanon, and getting back into the swing of things again to give it much thought. But once it does happen, he's happy for them.
I think at first, Shiki's parents are kind of leery of Neku at first, thinking he's your typical bad boy. But seeing how happy he makes Shiki--and seeing him around her (like on chaperoned dates at first. Oh my gosh), and how he brings her out of her shell, they get onboard quick.
Neku's mom thinks Shiki's a dear the moment she meets her and is just so glad that Neku has friends, and that he's opening up and enjoying the world again! It's Neku's dad who already knows it's a bit more than that, and that they might should already be calling the wedding planner. LOL
2. Uhh... I feel like I don't really have a very creative or elaborate answer for this one. I imagine Shiki would probably take on Neku's last name, since Japan is still a pretty traditional country. Though maybe Shiki might get her name hyphened, since she's a big fashion designer/business owner. Actually, let's go with that one:)
3. This is kind of sad to say. But I imagine that Neku might be an emotional, somewhat sad drunk for some reason. I don't know why. Like, not depressed level. I feel like more than anything he's just kind of tired and delirious, but...
I just imagine Neku sitting at the bar, talking to Shiki (who's more sober here) when they're both super famous, being like, "All these people think they know who they are. But I don't even entirely know who I am."
And Shiki has to slightly cheer him up with a slap to the back as she explains, "Neku, that's not true! Not only are you one of the best artists in Japan... but we're now putting these mansions all over, where people down on their luck can just stay--for as long as they need to, and we expect nothing from them--so you're clearly you're a humanitarian... more than Pink ever was or whatever."
Neku then looks at Shiki like he's seeing the sun for the first time, and puts his hand, with its ring on it, over her hand with its wedding band on it and asks, "...We're not even in the Game anymore. How do you still get through to me like no one else?"
Shiki tries to play it off... but deep down, she's smiling and eating it up. "Benefit of being your wife, I guess. Don't let it go to your head."
I feel like Shiki's a very happy drunk, one who likes to sing and dance and stuff. Yeah, Neku may have to keep an eye on her a little, to make sure she doesn't full off of things. She's also a bit bubbly and more outgoing like this. Kind of like how she was in the Game at first. And while Neku really does prefer the real Shiki, he also doesn't mind seeing the girl he first met, so to speak, when she's had a little bit to drink. He's glad that it makes her happy and she can feel a little bit more free. Though, really, Shiki's done a great job of opening up and becoming more outgoing herself over the years.
I don't know.
Thanks for the ask!

Heya! NekuShiki question time! :)
(Brought to you by @doesitringabell)
What made you ship them?
Do you think Neku and Shiki would get married? Any thoughts in their wedding?
Do you have any angsty headcanon you want to share?
1. What made you ship them?
I have a thing for their type of dynamic. Opposites Attract between two equally flawed people (e.g one is jaded and self-centered, another idealistic yet self-depricating) that result in them adopting each other's positive traits to start becoming better as their own persons. Also they're like a positive case of the Cynic-Idealist duo, and I'm really into this type of stuff. Honestly, I could vividly imagine how my adaptation of Week 1 would be like since I'm really into this sort of dynamic to the point where I don't really care if it results in a romance or not, the fact they were able to grow by challenging each other's mindsets is just my kind of spectacle.
Also just this summary alone:
"A blank slate whose default instincts is to push people away since he sees no value in them comes to appreciate a self-depricating girl and reminds herself of her self-worth by using himself as an example. And just from that point, his world keeps on growing and growing."
Nurture. You know. Nurture.
2. Do you think Neku and Shiki would get married? Any thoughts on their wedding?
They totally would. Of course, Shiki is the one who made their clothes and stuff. Beat is gonna be the best man and Eri the bridesmaid. Beat made a speech at some point how they all had been shipping them since forever and seeing them tie the knot is like seeing the finale of a long-running sitcom.
3. Do you have angsty headcanons do you want to share?
The memories about the Hachiko incident sometimes crept into their dreams. And at some point, Neku was on the brink of calling things off between them since he felt awful whenever he had to wake Shiki up from the recurring nightmare. Shiki had to constantly remind him that he was worth it and how glad she was to partner up with him the first time. They had to learn for awhile, that their insecurities are threatening to tear them apart, and neither wanted it. And they had to learn about awareness and acceptance all over again.

NekuShiki question time! :)
How would you describe the pair in one sentence?
Do you think the two of them would have any pets?
Do you have any date night headcanons for them?
OOOH? 👀
How would you describe the pair in one sentence?
i would describe them along the lines of "they are a pair who don't realize how much they mean to each other at first, but they end up being mutually important to each other" 🥺 or my other version, "they are each other's important person, built upon trust and reliance"
Do you think the two of them would have any pets?
hmm, i don't have any pets of my own, so idk how it feels to have a pet 🤔 but can i be boring and say that shiki might get a real cat, and neku is just looking at mr mew and her cat like, "ah yes. piggy and piggy 2..." 😂
Do you have any date night headcanons for them?
AAAAAA DATE NIGHT?!?! 😭💘
neku lets her pick out what movies to watch if they pick movie night (even if it is girly as heck, he'll persevere somehow 😂 and maybe shiki sometimes does it purposefully just to poke fun at him)
i think they mostly have casual dates so that shiki can bring mr mew along and they can be a party of three (#neverleavemrmew)
on the first few date nights they have, i like envisioning shiki giving neku cheek kisses via mr mew until she works up the courage herself later
HAND HOLDING 🥺
i really like the idea of them having movie nights for date night for some reason haha, so i also think about maybe shiki ruffles neku's hair a bit if he ends up falling asleep during the movie (or neku is the one to give her soft looks or kiss her forehead or twirls her hair if shiki is the one asleep) 💖

NekuShiki question time! :)
What do they do on their first anniversary?
What are their interactions like if they are drunk?
Who is more affectionate with the other?
What do they do on their first anniversary?
Hmm, I'd have to say Neku would have a surprise dinner waiting for Shiki when she would come home from Gatto Nero. He'd have spent the whole day practicing and fretting over the meal (probably messing up a time or two lol), but would have definitely ended up with a near success! (If it's a little dry or a little unseasoned Shiki does not care because it's the best thing she has ever eaten 💙)
What are their interactions like if they are drunk?
For some reason I immediately pictured Neku as a snuggly/sleepy drunk haha. As for Shiki she would be incredibly bubbly and just happy, all cares gone and she is incredibly affectionate (especially with her boy). More often than not they'd be snuggled up on the couch, Neku just a snuggle bug and Shiki having the time of her life as she'd kiss and hug him, a movie or video playing in the background but completely forgotten.
Who is more affectionate with the other?
Oh man, Neku and Shiki are basically tied, but Neku is just a TINY bit more affectionate. I feel that with his time stuck in Shinjuku, Neku would always have his arm wrapped somewhere around Shiki (waist, back hugging, etc) or his hand holding hers. Both because he's still has that awful fear of suddenly disappearing, and because he wants to make up for lost time, having Shiki nearby or in his arms soothing his soul and calming him down.
Sorry for the late reply! But thank you for this I had a lot of fun answering! 💙💙💙💙

Secret
Source: Subarashiki kono Sekai | The World Ends With You
Relationships: Misaki Shiki & Sakuraba Neku, Kiryu “Joshua” Yoshiya & Sakuraba Neku, this can be read as nekushiki if you squint. that’s their magic.
Characters: Sakuraba Neku, Misaki Shiki, Kiryu “Joshua” Yoshiya
Additional tags: Trauma Nightmares, self-care, warning for a paragraph of blood and violence that might be triggering, TWEWYTOBER, TWEWYTOBER 2020, Beta Read
Summary: It’s like sometimes Neku gets this idea in his head that Joshua is some lonely boy like him he’d want to intellectualise with, and not a callous murderous death god in a human kid’s clothing who hasn’t talked to any of them in months.
Beginning notes: Addendum: This was written and published on October 12th, 2020. this was originally about lines from w2 that'd fucking Hurt with the final twist that turned into neku's frustration with absentee joshua that became trauma dreams somehow. still feel like i need to redo introduction but at that point i was at like 900 words and just wanted to finish it since i bloody overscoped this huh. nobody said i had to follow the prompt mate
blows a kiss to will @makosinnergy for reading through this and pointing out some rather incoherent lines
Body:
“The Composer... The guy in charge of Shibuya?”
“Correct. We're in the Composer's Game. The Reapers are just his enforcers. They execute his designs.”
“Some designer. His Game royally sucks.”
“Hee hee... doesn’t it?”
-
It’s like sometimes Neku gets this idea in his head that Joshua is some lonely boy like him he’d want to intellectualise with, and not a callous murderous death god in a human kid’s clothing who hasn’t talked to any of them in months.
Even a mention of that name swamps him with some prissy kid he’d whack like he almost did to Shiki and the mistreated boy who doesnt like people just like Neku did and the killer who has all the impunity in the world to keep a vice grip on his partner and the imperfect protector he wouldn’t ever be able to apologise to a killer and the villain who put him through all this to someone he respects and wants to talk to for once… if he can fucking pick up the phone when Neku keeps calling, calling, calling.
-
Remembering anything he dreams about is such a rarity to him, but there’s been far too many late nights where he wakes up from his counting like a rocketship to blasting what was his… friend? to pieces and becoming a fucking murderer coated in dark, clotty blood that weighs his clothes like an iron ball (the one anyone who takes a life like that deserves). The blood doesn’t stop gushing and pooling and running all the way up the walls, the static fizzes even harder in his ears and clouds his reddening vision as the body falls apart, wilts and sinks like a plucked daisy going brown. Because of him, because of him, because of him
And then Neku’s torn away from those nightmares, his pyjamas soaked in so much sweat he can’t stop seeing as blood. He curls up fetal position trying to gather the energy to either sleep or get out of bed but he can’t, he’s fixed in this spot as the minutes drawl past like hours, tired and terrified and the dread washing over him when he realises fuuuck, it’s a school night. When the sun rises his hands still shake too much to do his hair and he walks into the building, with weak spikes that barely stand; he wasn’t really looking in the mirror much, brought his headphones and went.
Shiki pulls him into a corner minutes before class starts, asking if he’s up to going into class when she’s noticed how paranoid, puffy panda-eyed he looked. His breathing gets funny when he starts babbling about how he had a nightmare he shot Joshua and there was blood fucking everywhere as Shiki’s eyes flash every few seconds as she keeps track. She presses her hand to his chest, “You said that was the third time? Did you manage to shower after it?”
Neku is stone-cold lucid when he freezes up, “No? It was in the middle of the night, it’d wake everyone up. I couldn’t move from my room."
“Hey Neku,” Shiki chews her cracked lips, “are you free after school? I want to take you somewhere. I think it’ll help you.”
After stumbling through a blur of classes it leaves him tired and sleepy and not paying attention to where they go until he zones back into aisles that he vaguely remembers as a store he visited back in the Game. He mumbles where, she answers Nishimura Drugs in Q-Heads. She takes him to an aisle full of towels and cloths and as she bundles packets of baby wipes into his arms she explains that when she feels far too miserable to shower she tries to at least use wipes so she can feel clean enough.
“It’s recurring,” she says, “and I don’t want you to turn up like that again feeling and looking horrible no more than you need to. You can call me if you need to, all people need is a good listener.” When they pay and leave the pharmacy she asks if he needs to be walked home.
It maybe takes five days until a terrified, guilty Neku sees the taunting glow of 1:09 blink as his unsteady hands try to select Shiki’s number. She answers just after the first ring dies out, her voice grave and worried as he recounts the nightmare again. “Get out of your pyjamas and put them in your hamper, get the towels from your drawer and try to get all your sweat off,” she coaches Neku.
He finishes drying his legs when the regret becomes too heavy to handle, pricking at his already swollen eyes. “I couldn’t save him.” he wrenches out from the fast-coming sobs.
“Who? Joshua?” Neku grunts through the phone to Shiki’s question, and she takes it as a yes. “But he’s still… alive, isn’t he? If he’s brought us all back…”
“So fucked up,” he says, to no-one in particular. “How do I tell the headshrinker I died? That I wish my killer would call back? That I spent a month in purgatory that he was god of and having to,”
“Isn’t there someone,” Shiki tries to suggest something, “not a headshrinker, who’d know about and could talk to you the Game?”
“I don’t know!” Neku’s voice cracks, reaches a shaky sobby screech. “Saw Mr. H when I died standing and smiling right there with Joshua but WildKat never opens.”
“WildKat?”
“His café! Need t’make lockpicks if I want answers, I,” he swallows in a shaky, hitched breath and only then realises how frantic his voice was and he almost deflates. “M’sorry, Shiki.”
“Sorry for what?”
“You… you don’t know this and I’m forcing you to listen when you were only there for--”
Shiki takes a deep breath on the other end. “We can have a do-over tomorrow, it’s only one now. I’m here to listen to you even if it’s not about me, I was trying to say that with the headshrinker thing. Hey, are you finished cleaning?”
Neku opens his eyes after the line goes dead to see a perfect white feather lying across his chest, glittering in the (when did he fall back asleep?) morning light. He opens the window, shifts the weight in his knees, slings a feather as well as he can through the air resistance. His anger translates to a soft drop from his third floor to the ground, but he follows it up with his still-sore, throaty voice. “I want answers, not these fucking feathers!”
End notes: october 12th is the two year anniversary of twewy final remix's worldwide release and two year anniversary to permanently altering my brain chemistry over this stupid fucking dead teen simulator i hope this is good enough

NekuShiki question time! #2 :)
Who said "I love you" first? When?
Do they ever go dancing? How does it go?
Who is more affectionate with the other?
First I love you
The person who I envision to say the first “I love you” in the post-NEO world would be Neku. Pre-NEO I would hands down have thought it would be Shiki, because out of the two I feel like Neku’s more of an awkward sort and wouldn’t know how to put romantic feelings into words. But after NEO I feel like Neku became a little better at conveying his feelings and here’s why:
He watched her exit the elevator. She was talking to someone holding a camera bag, possibly the photographer she had just hired a couple of days ago. He remembered their evening meal yesterday, one he had to pry her away from her work to partake in, relating to her upcoming photoshoot. He learned their usual photographer had double booked and she had to scramble to find a replacement. The replacement looked young, around their age, and seemed to be bowing a goodbye to her before walking towards the exit behind him.
Neku continued to watch her, as she pulled out her phone from her Mr. Mew purse. Shiki tapped furiously at the screen, with speed rivaling Nagi, and seconds later he felt a buzz in his pocket.
After tucking her phone back away, Shiki moved toward the turnstiles situated near the door and finally saw him. It took her a second to overcome the surprise, he didn’t tell her that he was coming to pick her up, but she immediately brightened as she walked toward him at a steadfast pace.
How many days, months, years had he waited and hoped for to see a sight like this? To feel like this? Like his chest tightening in anticipation of her being in his arms, his cheeks warming at her smiling at him for simply … existing? How long had he spent thinking about the life he could have had with his friends, with her?
When Neku was dropped into the Shinjuku UG, he went into shock. Why? Why was he back when he was banned from ever playing the game again? He had just gotten his life back. He finally didn’t feel so alone in the vast seas of Shibuya.
But then he got shot … again.
His cynical side thought, maybe this was his retribution. He didn’t deserve friends, not after what he did to him…
But then he remembered them, and what they had all said to him.
“Let me in! Tell me what you're thinking!”
“Give up on yourself, and you give up on the world.”
“You're not my partner anymore man, you're... my friend. So trus' that yo!”
Come on, work with us. A problem shared is a problem halved!
And then he could have sworn he heard her…
“You finally came back to us … I knew you would.”
“I’m so happy you're back, Neku.”
He didn’t remember her saying that to him, but it wasn’t the first time he felt like he saw things that haven’t happened yet, things that could happen if he played his cards right. Visions of a future that gave him some … hope.
Every battle he fought, every new area he stumbled into, every floating thought he passed, all led to this hope that he would get back to his friends.
When he wasn’t fighting to survive, or when Coco was standing watch so he could rest, he thought about them. Was Beat skipping classes still? Was Rhyme learning how to do those ollies Beat was trying to teach her. Was Shiki … was Shiki hanging out with Eri right now? Was she fixing a stitch on Mr. Mew? Did she miss him, the same way he missed her?
His time in the RG after playing three weeks in the reapers game was short, but nothing less than wonderful. Shiki and Neku went on a couple outings together, just the two of them when the Bito siblings had family errands. It started out a little awkward, especially when familiar restaurant and store keepers thought they were an item already. A specific ramen owner was the worst of them all even though his teasing came from a place of fondness for the pair.
Without him realizing, being with Shiki was almost as natural as breathing, and every moment he spent with her was fun, interesting, precious to him.
Neku didn’t get the time he needed to work out how important Shiki was to him before being plunged into the Shinjuku UG, but three years of company to only the disembodied thoughts of lost souls and an occasional “fairy” reaper gave him the opportunity to delve into it. The conclusion he reached gave him the motivation to keep fighting, to keep surviving. For once, he had someone worth living for.
“Earth to Neku?” Shiki waved her hands in front of his face.
He blinked, bringing himself back to the present. Shiki stood on her toes, trying to look at his face underneath his overgrown bangs. He felt her touch his cheek, concern marring her adorable face.
He hates that he brought so much strain to her life. Maybe she could have been happier with someone else, someone who wouldn’t break their promise to go shopping the next day and abruptly disappear.
But then she smiled at him, having noticed that he simply zoned out. And all of a sudden his negativity stopped spiralling and he felt grounded again. He may not feel like he deserved her, but she chose him nonetheless.
She chose to never give up on him, that he would survive the ordeal he was thrust into. She chose to be the best version of herself that she could be while she waited for him.
And then even after all that time had passed, she still chose to be with him.
Neku didn’t know if there was a word that encompassed the overwhelming emotion he felt whenever he thought of Shiki. One certainly felt close enough though.
“Hey Shiki?” He asked, putting his larger hand over her smaller one that lingered on his cheek.
“Hmm?”
“I love you.”
He couldn’t remember the last time he said that to anyone, if he did at all. Even though Neku had told Shiki almost immediately after his arrival in the RG that he wanted to be more than friends, he hadn’t used that word before. Love was still such a foreign concept that he wasn’t sure he understood it completely, but if there was anyone in the whole world he could associate love with, it would be Shiki.
Shiki’s hand on his face stiffened at the sudden confession. For a hot second, maybe it wasn’t the time or place she expected him to say it. He felt a slight panic from the doubt of her not reciprocating his feelings.
But those thoughts were quickly thrown out when she leaned in and kissed him.
It was a kiss longer than they had ever shared before. She was physically telling him something, but he was a little preoccupied to fully process anything. Shiki pulled away, far quicker than Neku would have liked, carrying the sweetest grin he ever saw on her.
“I love you too, Neku.”
Dancing
Shiki would have this fancy company dinner that she’d have to go to for networking. As friendly as Shiki is, she’s still introverted and the whole event just sounds utterly exhausting. Neku would be her plus one, because even if that’s the last place he would rather be, he’s her partner, and that’s that. She gets well enough along with everyone, but she has to make the rounds and greet everybody, leaving Neku alone at times. Thankfully Eri’s also there, and the girls take turns between networking and keeping Neku company. He surprises both of them when the head designer for Jupes notices Neku’s deep purple button down shirt from Jupes under a Gatto Nero’s half grey plaid - half black solid blazer (it’s visually better in my head than what I just described), and wants to talk to the designer of the jacket. Neku goes full endorsing mode for his girlfriend, and smiles smug when the girls realize they didn’t need to worry about him, much less securing a major deal with a major brand for a collaboration. He’s pretty happy with himself when he hears a version of Someday play on the surround sound. The dance floor opens up, and a couple of people start a waltz.
Neku thinks to himself, it’s an odd thing to have a dance in the middle of a company dinner, but dinners in the fashion industry are often hosted by the most eccentric of people, and he supposes it’s not so peculiar after all.
The melody plays soft and slow, and if he’s honest with himself, it’s a pretty good rendition of one of his favorite songs. He sees Shiki from the corner of his eye, silently asking her to dance as he extends his hand out. She’s surprised at the gesture. Neku’s many things, but dancer’s not one of them. The exaggerated kicks he’s so fond of are sort of hard to move elegantly in. A simple slow dance, he thinks, is enough for him to handle. Her thin finger slipped effortlessly into his hand.
More affectionate
Post-NEO, I feel that both are pretty affectionate toward one another, but in different ways. Shiki’s more physically affectionate, she’s more of a hugger and is always holding his hand, or his clothes, just so she can feel that he’s there. He doesn’t initiate physical touch as often as she does, but he never let’s go, or moves away from it. This happens more naturally as they start dating, snuggles and such.
Neku’s more affectionate verbally. He’s gotten comfortable saying what’s on his mind more often. He’s not shy about complimenting her, she doesn’t need his reassurances but his opinion is important to her nonetheless. He’s a natural flirt; says things that would be considered suave without intention. He would say pick up lines without realizing that they were pick up lines.
Okay, so I’m like not really sure how best to put my thoughts together but here goes:
The Shibuya and Twister kiddos would all be at some fashion function, and the Fret and Beat would comment on how attractive some of the models are. Neku would just be like, “yeah, they are attractive, but they aren’t as beautiful as Shiki.” Him referring to how much he loves her appearance as well as her personality, whereas he knows nothing about these girls so all he is going on is their looks.
And of course Shiki, who has pins in her mouth and is trying to get her models ready, hears this. Her jaw loosens and the pins fall on the floor. She’s essentially flushed and flabbergasted, by what he said and how nonchalant he said it. He looks at her like he said nothing wrong. Then he just smiles at her, and she just stutters out curse words. She doesn’t have time for this.
Notes: I’m so sorry for the late reply. I’m such a slow thinker and writer! But thanks again for the ask! The first prompt sort of snowballed. Hope you like it! @doesitringabell, I added a collection on Ao3 dedicated to you for any/all other prompts that end up longer than I had anticipated. Check out the source content.
Also sorry for any typos and such, let me know if you spot any. If anyone is still interested in my rambling mess of Neshiki fanfics/ficlets, don’t hesitate to send me more asks! It might take a while, but just know that my moments of silence are just me tinkering with ideas (writing something, hating it, revising it, writing again, rinse, repeat, then screw this, just take it.)

NekuShiki question time! :)
Tell us about one of their vacations they went on together!
Any funny/silly headcanons you want to share?
Who would propose to the other and how?
Hey Anon, so let me start off with saying how completely honored I am to have someone interested in my headcanons. I was honestly so shocked and you literally made my day so thank you. Please see bottom for notes. Now to the ask,
Vacations
My idea for right after the first game, before A New Day and before NEO, is that the gang would all have a typical beach vacation. Some place local, since these kids are still teens, and they are all typically broke. Eri would be along for the ride too because Shiki wouldn’t travel without her best friend, and also because Eri would just invite herself. Even if Eri trusts and loves Rhyme, she definitely doesn’t trust the boys to be alone with her cute best friend on a weekend trip.
They take the train to the beach, and it’s time to get changed. Eri picked out a bathing suit for Shiki, that’s not exactly revealing but less conservative than Shiki would have liked.
“I can’t wear that! Is that the only one you brought me?” Shiki’s voice raised in a panic.
“Shiki, it’s really not that bad. It’s a tankini and it will look cute on you!”
Her insecurities were screaming at her. No way could she go out in public wearing that! The top is practically see through!
“Eri, this may look cute on other people, but not me. I-I can’t pull this look off, I’m not —”
“Are you girls okay in there?”
They both turned to the closed door. The changing room is open air, so even though Neku couldn’t see anything, he could hear everything.
“Shiki, I have an idea. Is there anyone else inside?”
“No, why?”
“Eri, come guard the door.”
“Neku, if you think I’m going to let you into the girls changing room —“
“I’ll keep my eyes closed, I just need to give Shiki something.”
“I could just —“
“Just come to the door, Eri. Shiki, put the swimsuit on, I’m not going to look.”
“But!”
“I’m tying something around my eyes, I’ll be quick.”
He heard some shuffling and the door opened. Eri guided Neku into the room, and once inside she shut the door. Shiki touched his elbow to let him know where she was, and he offered her the cloth he was holding.
“What are you?”
“Just turn around.”
She did as he asked, and he draped his short-sleeved cotton shirt over her shoulders, trying very hard not to touch her bare skin, even if he thought otherwise.
“My shirt’s long enough to cover pretty much all of you, and you can’t enjoy the beach if you’re feeling self conscious about your swimsuit. You’ll get there one day, even if that day may not be today.”
The UG gang knew how low Shiki’s self confidence was, and even though Eri was very attentive to Shiki’s needs, sometimes her methods of getting Shiki to own herself weren’t always the best. The seamstress was getting better every day, but when she is with her best friend, who looks great in a bikini, those feelings she once had still linger. Some things just take more time and Neku wanted Shiki to have fun today, without having to worry about what she looked like.
He couldn’t see the smile she was wearing, or the blush of her cheeks, but he heard her sigh of relief.
“Thanks Neku.” He stayed with her as she finished getting ready, which wasn’t very long, and sooner than later, Shiki took Neku’s hand to guide him back out of the room. When the coast was clear thanks to Eri’s watchful eye, the pair walked into the sunshine and only then could Neku see Shiki, who was in his shirt that was flowing around her loosely, buttoned only around her waist, her green two piece swimsuit still modestly visible.
Leave it to Shiki to find a way to make a simple shirt look fashionable.
And for Neku, who was a little awestruck, claiming the sun made his face flush, smirked to himself as Eri complimented Shiki on her new look. She looked perfect in his shirt.
Cute/Silly head cannons
Neku living with Shiki, and she’s so busy she doesn’t really cook for herself/eats unhealthy. He’s straight up appalled. So he teaches himself how to cook and essentially turns into a domestic househusband. Cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, feeding Mrs. Mew (her black cat that she adopted when Neku was in the UG) etc. When the kiddos (twisters) come over, Neku’s in the kitchen while Shiki entertains for a bit, brings them all tea wearing an adorable apron, and kisses her on the check before setting the serving plate down in the kitchen to come back and join everyone. I long for domestic fluff.
Proposal
I feel like Neku would totally try planning out this creative and artistic proposal, his kiddos would be dying to help him out. Shoka would go nuts making sure her mentor got the most gorgeous proposal setting, she would grumble as Fret tried to help out in an most exaggerated way, and Rindo would try to prevent Shoka from killing Fret who she finds is ruining his plan. Neku would just let them be as long and they weren’t doing anything dangerous, and he agreed that a girl who changed him for the better AND waited for his return after three years did deserve the best. When push comes to shove and it’s about to happen, the twisters and the original crew watching (and recording) them, Neku gets so nervous he ends up messing up, but Shiki totally understands what he’s saying and she pops the question. And it’s kind of like Amity and Luz from the Owl House.
Neku’s looking everywhere but at her, and Shiki can tell he’s so nervous that he’s starting to stutter. She finds it funny that this once emo teen turned into a suave young adult was now reduced to a bumbling mess. “What I’m trying to say is —”
“Will you marry me?” Shiki interjected, reading his mind. She’s so excited that she could burst.
He was relieved that it’s out in the open, but disappointed it was not he who popped the question he had prepared so long for. He’s pouting but also smiling as he whines, “Ah no, I was going to say it.”
Shiki giggles like a schoolkid as she waves her hand in the air to placate him, “okay, okay, go ahead.” In an attempt to take his pending question more seriously, Shiki bit her lips together, but couldn’t fight the corners of her mouth lifting upward in a goofy grin.
He bent his right knee onto the pavement, took her hands in his, looked her in the eye and breathed out, “Shiki Misaki, will you marry me?”
“Yes!”
He had 0.1 seconds to kiss her before he’s mauled to the ground by their friends. Eri and Shoka grabbed Shiki, screaming so loudly it drew the attention of commuters all around them. He has to calm them down so he can put the ring on his fiancee’s finger, a mere afterthought that after all the suffering everyone in the group has gone through, they all have something amazing to celebrate.
Note: I’m sorry this reply is so late, but I wanted to think about what to say and I ended up writing little ficlets for you, so I hope you can forgive me! And thank you again for prompting me, I find it hard to write sometimes and this really encouraged me to write more. If you, or anyone else likes these, please feel free to send me more prompts, I might even make a ficlet collection on Ao3 if anyone is interested!

NekuShiki question time! :)
Date edition.
The date scenario: Concert
Who wanted to go there? Why? What happens? Are they already a couple? Describe a little scene if you want to!
I gonna assume it The Def Märch/The Death March Concert
And is that case:
Who want to go there?
Neku.
Why?
Beside his CAT idol, he a fan of there band, he had most of the song, on his old player (and latter smartphone).
What happens?
Well Shiki did say she was book on some work business on that day, he try to not be a upset over it, that he could come bring one of other friends, but Shiki do to her player-pack/psyche/or-genuine empathy toward him, know he just putting a brave face for her beside. Lucky, Eri was by the corner and told her that she can handle this business all by herself, As she just want to see best friend happy (and stressed free from overworking herself).
So the two able to hit the concert, even got VIP pass do well, it is the Def Märch, just wanna see them and welcome Neku back to RG for three years.
Are they already a couple?
There already a official couple and already had there 1st... yeah you get the idea.
Describe a little scene if you want to!
I feel like I should make a Neo-Zeta Earth story with this TBH.

NekuShiki question time! :)
Is there anything you might want to change about them design wise?
Do you think they would have children? How many?
If they married, who would make the engagement proposal and how?
1. Is there anything about them you want to change design wise?
Hoo boy. You got me cracking my knuckles.
In general I don't really see any problems with their original designs. Neku's blinding bangs/turtleneck/phones play symbolic meanings, so I won't change his design. What Shiki wore in the first game also actually look quite comfy and practical. If unremarkable, it's in her concept that she's meant to look unremarkable, so that's totally ok. I still would be against her looking like a total fashion disaster if I could though. Unfortunately interesting designs affect how often people are willing to draw characters in fanarts. And...like a lot of people did, I did find her fashion choices in NEO rather...questionable
Tumblr media
So my personal take would just simply change her long dress into a normal shirt (I mean, I have no fashion sense irl either, but trousers underneath a knee-length dress just...feels so uncomfortableeee) Her trouser could have some plaits because Nomura is into plaits lately. And flat, laceless shoes for simplicity so you will be directed to look up to her face instead of her hilariously bright-laced shoes. (I wonder if Shiki intentionally wore those shoes so people won't be interested to look her in the eye or something. Damn girl, Neku supposedly taught you some confidence! Where is it!)
And while we're on the topic and I'm that nerdy about this stuff. I might as well share some of my ideas for Shiki outfits while we're at it.
Tumblr media
So this was from last year before we even got any news about NEO being a thing. My idea about this is for a possible sequel, Shiki would have been shown to have gained more confidence and started wearing more fashionable clothes that reflect her character development, and due to the issue surrounding her iconicness, her outfit needs to be some kind of homage of her more iconic appearance. So I took the necklace and the short hoodie with prominent pull strings and combine it with her leggings, creating this. I didn't color it yet, but her color scheme would be similar to Mina's.
The hoodie with prominent pull strings continue to be the thing I latch on when designing alternative outfits for Shiki. Including this design I made for how I imagine Shiki looks like in Sanctuary (yes, THAT Sanctuary) based on her description in the fic. Also made last year
Tumblr media
Admittedly she looks a bit young here, when she's supposedly 17. I'm gonna revise this design later when I got the chance. Heh
As for Neo Neku?
Tumblr media
Honestly I felt a bit off when I first saw him. The sleeves look a bit weird when you see him only from waist-up. But unlike the Shiki one, I've gotten a bit used to it now. Plus I love how he now doesn't wear headphones and turtleneck anymore. Since I had a similar concept for his sequel design just like Shiki's
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Accidentally looking a bit like neo Beat it seems
In general, like the Shiki one. I tried to design this outfit to reflect his character development. No turtlenecks, headphones down for most of the time.
2. Do they think they would have children? How many?
Absolutely. Probably not a lot though. Both of them are only childs. Neku in general doesn't really mind growing up alone, he used to think younger siblings would have been a chore to him so he never wanted one. Shiki on the other hand, always wished she had siblings, be it an older sister or a little brother, she always feels like her house can have another occupant or two growing up, so she wants at least more than one. So they ended up planning for two.
However, I'm gonna crush her dreams here, because I'm the no.1 Shiki stan, Shiki ended up having a couple of stillborns the first times they tried. Which scares her for awhile.
Luckily, their third trial actually succeeded, much to their relief, but afterwards, they both found out Shiki could no longer conceive.
So they're always treating their first kid like they're some miracle. Overprotective too, considering the pasts they had. Shiki still wished the kid could have a sibling growing up though, and Neku is always there to make sure she doesn't drag herself down too much.
Later on, they found some traumatized kid on the streets and decided to adopt him. So initial goal achieved I guess???
3. If they married, who would make the engagement proposal and how?
Shiki, now a billionaire thanks to her work, hired a bunch of men in black to chase Neku down and corner him to Hachiko, where she'll jump from behind the statue and save him from an incoming bullet, everything starts feeling like Deja Vu, and in a panic that may or may not be staged, Shiki pulled out her hand to him, showing him a ring inside a small velvet box, yelling: "FORGE A PACT WITH ME!"

NekuShiki question time! #3 :)
What's their normal sleeping position?/Who is the big spoon?
What's their relationship with each others family like?
What's their morning routine on a day off?
1.) Who's the big spoon and what's their normal sleeping position?
Neku is the big spoon normally since Shiki's so small compared to him. But Shiki is the one with the backcrushing bearhugs since she's the more emotional one of the two. After everything they're both equally clingy to each other.
Tumblr media
About sleep position they're sweetheart cuddlers. Neku has a habit of tucking her into his chest whenever she needs something to cry on, and she develops a fondness for the sound of his heartbeats. Since it also reminds her that he's now alive and well and here beside her.
2.) What's their relationship with each other's family's like?
I always imagined that Neku's parents are estranged, he got his early crankiness from how his dad treated his family. His mom's fine though (if world-weary) and Neku introduced Shiki to her first when his dad wasn't around. His mom is actually really pleased that Neku managed to find not only a friend, but potential life partner as well, given how well they get along, and hoped their relationship won't turn like her own.
Neku, to Shiki: Would you like to stay for dinner?
Neku's mom: Would you like to stay forever?
Shiki's parents in contrast was extremely skeptical to him. They're a bit conservative and traditional and didn't think that Neku's the right one for her at first. It took Neku awhile to get her parents to warm up to him and convince them that he'll treat her well.
3. What's their morning routine on a day off?
They'd brush their teeth while still on the bed and laugh at some morning reality show. Then they'd take a shower together and chat about random things while on the bath tub. After that, they'd eat a couple of toast while searching the web for the weirdest breakfast recipe they could find before they head for the supermarket to search for the ingredients (doubles as grocery shopping) once they got their stuff, they'll try to cook the weird breakfast together and do a rock-paper-scissor to decide who got to try the food if the food failed. Most of the time they succeeded to make the food though since teamwork makes the dream work. 👌

NekuShiki question time! #2 :)
Do you think they would have any fancy pet names for each other? When do they use them?
Imagine one of them is sick. What's happening next?
Any headcanons about their shared living space? Do they have any funky decorations or the like?
1. Do you think they would have any fancy pet names for each other? When do they use them?
'Stalker' is just Neku's staple when it comes to their day-to-day banters. Shiki was a bit annoyed by it early on, but overtime she got used to it and it actually ends up bringing her comfort hearing his playful nickname for her. Shiki always tries to come up with an equally embarassing nickname for him but never finds one that wouldn't make her cringe internally, she's never good at coming up with funny nicknames unlike him unfortunately.
However, when the mood is soft, like when she's especially vulnerable or insecure and needed reassurance, sometimes he calls her 'Chic' (courtesy to the fics of @/oveliagirlhaditright for this one) it's the rarer nickname and Shiki takes it as Neku's way of reminding her to be sure of her abilities (after all, Neku has a penchant for derogatory nicknames and she's got the honor of having this totally more uplifting nickname compared to everyone else's)
2. Imagine one of them is sick. What's happening next?
Imagine one of them gets incredibly sick for a few days in a reaper's game that takes place a bit longer than just 7 days and it's part of the multi-days mission (Take care and try to cure your sick partner and find ways for both of you to avoid erasure within 3 days limit -- The Reapers) what's happening next?
If Neku is the one that gets sick
Shiki would be a panic mess even when she's continuously trying to reassure him that he'll be fine. And Neku, in between his feverish daze would still find ways to snark at her because of this, because he still ends up relatively being the calmer one in this situation. At first, Shiki will question wether she'll be able to protect them both, having spent the entire time learning that Neku is the powerhouse in the team and wether her psyche alone will be enough. After the initial panic and insecurities though, Shiki will eventually find her footing. Thankfully, she actually has experience with taking care of the sick and does it pretty well. Problems mostly arise when she had to carry most of the battles, initially doubting if she could be as good as Neku is when handling enemies, in which in turn Neku reassures that as long as she doesn't let these thoughts bring her down she's bound to use her full fighting prowess. And that's all she needed to be the sole pillar of the team for a few days.
If Shiki is the one that gets sick
Shiki would insist that she can still do things even when she's sick, but Neku, even when he still doesn't quite like her as a person by this point knows better and will start trying to talk her out from pushing herself too hard with battling and stuff. He also has zero experience with caretaking and has to follow Shiki's instructions on how to take good care of her. Unlike Shiki, Neku has an easier time handling and battling foes all by himself. Having Shiki outta commission for most of the time also forces him to socialize more with the others to find more info. I also like to imagine in this AU, Neku got quite the reputation when words got out that he tried to kill his partner once, and people started shaming him when he went out to try finding ways to take care of Shiki, most of them feeling pity for the girl, and he's then more driven to prove them wrong that the past is the past and that he does have a heart. He asks Shiki if he is a terrible partner and feels like he is like everyone else thinks of him, Shiki is silent for sometime and can only say that right in that moment, she trusts him that he's able to take care of her regardless.
3. Any headcanons about their shared living place? Any funky decorations?
Neku will adorn the walls with creatively put graffitis and hang motivational words on their kitchen and living room. Rather than a boring square bookshelf he'll build a new one that resembles funky grafitti brush strokes suspended on the wall above their couch---shaped like Mr Mew's head and holds at least three different sized Mr Mew cushions. The curtains are made by Shiki and she changes them every turn of the season, sakura and wisteria-patterned curtains for spring, sunflowers and hydrangea for summer, and chrisanthemun for fall and winter. There's a display cardboard in the corner of their living room filled with nothing but Mr Mew paraphernalias, in the center of it sits the 'original' Mr Mew, proud with his faded colors and slightly tattered seams, and besides it sits what looked like a deformed mini Mr Mew that they affectionately call 'Mr Ew' courtesy to Neku's attempt of giving the iconic cat a little buddy years ago.
