Lyrics :
i could never find the right way to tell you have you noticed i've been gone? cause i left behind the home that you made me but i will carry it along
mm it's a long way forward so trust in me i'll give them shelter like you've done for me and i know i'm not alone you'll be watching over us until you're gone
when i'm older i'll be silent beside you I know that words are not enough and they won't need to know our names or our faces but they will carry on for us

Shokugeki no Soma: The Next Gen (PART 2)
Part 1 // (Disclaimer: Pictures are made with Picrew)
Isami Aldini - Mito Ikumi
Tumblr media
Sota Enrico Aldini ♂
The one who rebuilt Don RS into an empire when it was a mess after Ikumi graduated. Since Ikumi has been preparing him for this his whole life, Donburi becomes Sota’s specialty.
Experiments with a lot of Southeast Asian flavors into his donburi such as salted egg, kaffir lime, and bird’s eye chili.
Ironically, unlike his twin sister, doesn’t take spicy food too well-- if too much chili is used, would sweat endlessly, tongue would swell, so he once paid Yukihira Jin to be his taste tester and set his heat to a perfect standard.
The first Don RS member ever to make it into Elite Ten. Boy makes history, and both parents proud.
Is a serious guy most of the time and don’t get most of Isami’s dad jokes, but when he starts teasing his twin sister, Sota can’t help but be amused.
Tumblr media
Sora Erica Aldini ♀
Isami’s little princess with makeup and cute designer skirts, but could kick assholes in the shin if they try to put a finger on her like Ikumi.
Is Hayama Kana’s best friend, partner-in-crime, ride-or-die.
Started cooking with Italian food, but as she experimented more, she fell in love with Mexican food which became her specialty.
Unlike her twin brother Sota, Sora can take extreme heat. Always add more chili to her Korean spicy noodle, and could last without a drink in between.
Besides cooking, sports also have always been in her interest. Sora joined a local karate club and always practice after school.
Tsukasa Eishi - Kobayashi Rindou
Tumblr media
Tsukasa Oda ♂
Loves spending time with Uncle Kuga and thanks to him, he fell in love with the art of dim sum and found that his fingers are keen to craft beautiful dumplings.
Like Eishi, Oda is a true perfectionist. Has a very high standard and treat his cooking like a work of art, but does take a leap of faith every now and then.
Though he only takes risks during practice so if it doesn't pay off, no soul would ever find out his failure.
His dumplings are too pretty to eat because he can create it into any shapes such as flamingo, unicorn, roses, etc. That's why everyone called him 'The Magic Fingers'.
Actually hates French cooking. Oda thinks it's way too strict and stressful. Is also terrified with beasts Rindou brings home to cook.
But he will always be Mama's boy and will always try to impress Rindou with his food.
Marco Aldini, the art lover, is a fan of his work (also thinks Oda is a stud).
Isshiki Satoshi - Kinokuni Nene
Tumblr media
Kinokuni Tsuki ♀
Although taking most of Nene’s features, Tsuki has her father’s big-dick, the life of a party kind of energy… times two.
It surprises everyone in the Polar Star Dorm how the girl parties like an animal until 3 am with lots Aunt Ryoko’s regular supply of rice juice, but could get up to garden at 7 am as if she’s been sleeping like a baby.
Dyes her hair every two weeks. Mostly in similar shades, but she needs a lot of dynamic and changes in her life in order to function.
Like Isshiki, Tsuki only cooks with local, homegrown ingredients. From starch to herbs, she would make no exception. She always says this is why she has a lot of energy.
Her favorite ingredient is potato. Tsuki knows all things potato-- their kinds, how they are grown, and 100+ ways to cook it.
Nene’s cold soba noodles > everything else.
Marui Zenji - Yoshino Yuki
Tumblr media
Marui Yuriko ♀
Daddy’s little genius. Interested in the science behind baking at first, which became her specialty in a blink. Yuriko bakes bread, cupcakes, cookies, pretty pastries, pies, you name it all. PSD always has the best-smelling dorm because of her.
Has Zenji’s eyesight, but Yuki thinks glasses are outdated, so she convinced Yuriko to put on contact lenses.
She and Tsuki’s girly sleepover routines include dyeing each other’s hair or drawing cute temporary tattoos on each other.
If somebody asks her what would go great with her baked goods, she would always answer, “Tea… Well, figuratively speaking.”
Being an observer that she is, Yuriko knows almost everybody’s business without having to ask. She knows Jin once made out with Sora, or that secret fling between Alicia and Sota.
Actually the first person to realize that Marco is gay and attracted to Jin. She confronted him, but would never be a jerk to out him to the world.
She never actually spill the tea to anyone beside Zenji (definitely won’t tell Yuki since she’d be telling everyone). Because at some point, she knew she had to let it out of her chest, and her father’s response would most likely be, “Whose son is this Sota guy again?”
Ibusaki Shun - Sakaki Ryoko
Tumblr media
Ibusaki Baltasar Abel ♂
Since both Ryoko and Shun agreed to raise their son with faith, Abel grew up as a Christian. He won’t call himself a religious person, but at least he goes to church every Sunday and prays mindfully before he eats and sleeps.
Knows how to smoke ingredients as a way to preserve them, but is more obsessed with fermenting food and can make pickles out of everything. Abel also makes his own yeast which Yuriko always uses for her baked goods.
Along with Yuriko and Tsuki, they sell Polar Star Dorm homegrown and homemade products like vegetables, eggs, fresh baguettes, and his signature kimchi online which keeps their dorm nice and well-taken care of. Totsuki members get discounts, obviously.
Tries to keep his crush on Sora Aldini under the radar, but his dorm members think it’s pretty obvious mainly because they found his unsent love letters.
Surprisingly gets along with Kurokiba Athena and bonds over their love for Iron Maiden.
Edited on 03/06/2019: Apparently, @yourmoontothenightsky‘s Yuki and Marui fanchild is also named Marui Michiko, so since I’m late to the party (and frankly had poor researching skill), had to tweak her name and a bit of her look. Thank you for personally messaging me and reminds me so nicely <3

i forgot i got tagged in this meme thing by @miss-heidi!!!
Rules: Name ten favorite characters from ten different things (books, tv, film, etc.) then tag ten people (note: i’m just gonna name anime stuff cause of the blog theme and also i can’t remember 90% of media that i watch so. also whoever sees this can do it if they want)
yu yu hakusho: this is really hard cause it always varies between the main four but it’s a hard tie between kurama and kuwabara. they’re both just SUCH good characters and i love them so much and i feel like i always notice new things about them when i rewatch the series
hunter x hunter: killua is my son, i’ve adopted him, the end,
sailor moon: usagi!! classic fellow cancer & gotta love her being a big hearted disaster bi
magic knight rayearth: umi was so badass and will forever be badass
revolutionary girl utena: anthy remains one of the most complex characters in anime she’s so goddamn good
.hack//SIGN: tsukasa invented being a nb lesbian and thats why no other isekai protagonist can hold a candle to her
cardcaptor sakura: i’ve loved tomoyo even despite her godawful valley girl english VA. loving fashion and being as gay as the day is long, v valid
inuyasha: kikyo is basically the only reason i kept watching this show, she’s got the best backstory and shes hilarious and not even on purpose
fushigi yugi: i used to be really into this anime in high school even though watase’s works always have some level of BAD in them, looking back on it, but i really liked yui. she’s just gay and trying to stop a bad ship from happening and for that i respect her
michiko to hatchin: i can’t end this list without michiko. i goddamn. i love her. make no mistake i would take a bullet for you michiko

“Sculpture is looking at real things by making real things. It is making poetry with solid objects.” Edward Allington (A Method for Sorting Cows, 1997, p.11)

Edward Allington, best known for his contribution to the New British Sculpture movement, had strong ties with Japan. In 1984, he participated in the group exhibition “Metaphor and Symbol” at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, which later led to his solo exhibition at the Fuji Television Gallery*. His fascination towards the country, and its craft and art, eventually developed into his lifelong research into modern Japanese sculpture**, taking him back and forth between Japan and England throughout his career. Allington was also a critic and an educator. He wrote various texts not only of his work, but also of others, and taught for many years at the Slade School of Fine Art. Making, writing, and teaching formed the three main pillars of his practice, as he considered writing and teaching as parts of a broader spectrum of sculptural practice. This exhibition explores these three facets of his practice by showcasing Allington’s works and writings, which in recent years had few opportunities to be presented in Japan, alongside works by Japanese artists whom Allington taught, including Hiraki Sawa, Akiko and Masako Takada, Ayuko Sugiura, Eiko Soga, Michiko Oki, Hiroko Nakajima and Kazuki Nishinaga. This exhibition also marks the first group show between Allington and his Japanese students. By bringing together their works, the exhibition also seeks to shed light on the various links which connect Allington and his students; to the things that remain unchanged, shared across time and beyond borders. Using diverse motifs–from the ancient Greek god Apollo to mass-produced plastic pineapples– Allington was an artist who meditated on the meaning of the original. Allington was especially interested in how these ancient motifs and mass-produced products, which only exist as copies, are remembered or dwell in our times. He believed that the truth of our era lies in these classic forms or in the mass-produced objects which have survived even after the originals or the myths surrounding them have been lost. Allington playfully transforms and appropriates these motifs to identify the truth hidden in these motifs. The reconfigured motifs, by their own very nature, transcend time, place, and preconceived notions (communal illusions), offering us a new way of looking at the world. Subjects such as memory, myth, rebirth, as well as an anthropological approach to objects and forms, can also be traced in the works of Allington’s students. Hiraki Sawa, a video installation artist, combines videos, sculptures, and images to create a sensory landscape–imaginary, yet real, inspired by his own experiences and memories. Similarly, Ayuko Sugiura, who focuses on unnamed sensations and intangible prayers, creates sculptures that invite the viewers to explore the tactile sensations and forms that are ingrained in our consciousness. Akiko and Masako Takada, on the other hand, challenge our existing values and norms by shifting the scale of everyday objects, such as cards and stamps, in an attempt to change the way we see the world. Hiroko Nakajima also creates sculptures using everyday and found objects, but by removing these objects from their original functions and contexts, she constructs a new language to explore an innerscape which words alone cannot capture. Through her site-specific research project with the people of Ainu, Eiko Soga seeks to reevaluate contemporary values that have been shaped by capitalism, colonialism, and nationalism. Her practice begins from learning the Ainu traditions, such as making Ainu kimono (chikarukarupe) and salmon shoes (chepukeri). Soga traces her memories of the people she has met and the knowledge she has gained through the process to observe how minor, ephemeral, and sensory aspects of everyday processes can lead to bigger phenomena such as collectivity and the development of culture. Kazuki Nishinaga proposes a new approach to the ‘decorative arts.’ The decorative arts are one of the most universally practised forms of art, but the more it develops, the more it loses its functionality and productivity, and the more it becomes irrational. By focusing on this contradiction, Nishinaga proposes a hypothesis that ‘decoration is like a plant or a cancer cell, growing irrespective of human needs.’ Finally, Michiko Oki, who lives and works in the UK, explores how the nature of contemporary art and aesthetic experience has been transformed in the current climate where since the Black Lives Matter movement and the pandemic, has increasingly been seeking a post Western-centric and multicultural society. *  Exhibition “Edward Allington” held in 1988. ** A joint international research project with Musashino Art University and Henri Moore Institute.
