top 3 fictional universes i’d like to live in: idk, they all seem uniquely bad in ways that do not necessarily improve upon the unique ways in which our current universe is bad. but to be sporting i'll say star trek of course, anything jared harris is in bc i want to fuck him more than im afraid of space terrorists or freezing to death or nuclear radiation, and the fictional universe i've been manifesting in my imagination for years where we never invented agriculture and i died at birth for simplistic umbilical cord-related reasons

can't stop thinking about you could've raised a better girl like. god that's it isn't it. that's what it is to be someone who doesn't realize they may be trans until adulthood, but who has always felt a connection to the "other" gender. 45 years old telling their proverbial mother, you could've raised a girl if only i had understood myself sooner. you could've raised a girl if only i'd had the words for what i felt. you could've raised a girl if only i wasn't forced into maleness from birth. you could've raised a girl if only you'd seen me and listened to me and been the mother that i needed you to be. and i think i would have been better as a girl, and i wonder if maybe i wouldn't have been a disappointment to you if i'd been raised as your daughter instead of your son. and yes, i could have been a better son, but only if i were somebody else. maybe i should have tried harder to be a better son to you but maybe you could have been a better mother to me. maybe i would be a better girl now if you had raised me that way.

ok so this last episode reminded us that what we do in the shadows is a documentary, and that there's a lot going on behind the scenes that the characters keep to themselves that's not recorded by the documentary crew (like guillermo's embezzling - until he gets caught). we are not going to see anything personal, private, or secret. this is easy to forget because it seems like the vampires have zero filter whatsoever - but remember how well laszlo kept the secret about colin robinson's death and ALSO baby colin last season??
anyway, does anyone else feel like... for part of season 3 and for all of this season, there's been a lot more going on between nandor and guillermo than we see on screen? i think they read less like people who haven't acknowledged their feelings, and more like people who are keeping a very big secret kind of badly from their friends and the documentary crew.
this next part may be a stretch, but: i can imagine that they got together secretly last season, there was a big conflict where nandor was unwilling to be public about what was going on and instead kept putting on big displays of heterosexuality and/or running away, and then the season finale was supposed to be them being open about being together, free from the judgment of laszlo or nadja or the documentary crew. think about "my nan- master," think about the whispered exchanges between them where the crew is filming them secretly, think about their little moment where nandor says he won't bring guillermo's luggage and guillermo goes >:( and nandor goes "lol jk" like he isn't ashamed to be publically caring towards guillermo, and guillermo LIGHTS UP and it's so fucking cute
and then they didn't run away together. and season 4 has read a bit like a post-breakup, where neither will admit that anything even happened in the first place.

hey. autistic transmascs. it's okay if your autistic perspective influenced your discomfort with femininity, and that doesn't mean you're any less trans or that you shouldn't transition/should detransition. if transitioning makes you feel happier and more at ease with your body, then it doesn't matter "why" you're trans. womanhood is not inherently sacred and it's ok to not be a woman if you don't feel like one. a feminine body is not inherently superior to a masculine one, so you aren't "ruining" your body by taking masculinizing hormones or undergoing masculinizing surgeries. do what makes you happiest and don't drink the radfem koolaid.

Stupid personal post but seeing so many mcr pics from their tour has been giving me hhhhhhhh foam in the mouth, bc they have been my absolute fave band from my teens (2007 until today... so 15 years??!?!?) and I have yet to go to a concert of them.... damn, maybe one day of they get closer (they will be on México but YEAH, u need the visa to go there or the usa :') so RIP). I'm debating myself into poating my old arts of them here on this blog or making another solely for them, but in all these years I haven' t drawn them constantly even tho they are my beloved, maybe is bc in my head, my draws of them aren't good enough....so I avoid drawing them bc I'm always like "mmm maybe try years later, hopefully ur skills will be enough then" but yeah. YEAH. idk, maybe I will poat them here, even tho I don't wanna mix stuff up.... I don't wanna repeat my old tungl habits of having everything in disorder (would be harder foe me to get refs even tho the tags help) and also I don't wanna attract much attention....idk, the struggle between wanting to share but also not wanting to be found by the closed minded people that are in every corner od the internet now that wanna censor even hand holding of fictional characters... sigh, I'm damaged beyond repair in my trust towards people coming across my art. EVEN THO I wanna be like "I don't care, I won't stop doing art despite people trying to cancel" but then I'm just so tired and done with life in general....anyways, sorry if anyone read all of this. I just wanted to vent a bit in the end....

A zombie apocalypse isn't the only hoard based misery that could plague society...
Forgive me for any errors, it's 9am lol
Amy was silent as the truck rocked on the gravel road. Nothing but black brush creeped into the distant view they had, illuminated by an artificial Sun welded on to the metal roof. The only good that thing did currently was nourish the plants overtaking this road. They hadn't seen a harvester in two days.
"You think they're smartening up?" Tyler almost laughed, but couldn't muster it. He just stared off at the road, keeping the truck steady.
"They're still... 'human', I guess? I mean. They still think like people..." Amy retorted after a bit of dead air.
"You know what I mean. The bloodlust," the man glanced towards her, before looking back at the road, "they're harder to find now-"
"Do you think he's still out there?" She stared distantly.
There was a moment of silence as that familiar pang of guilt washed over them. The two still hoped the others were asleep in the back.
"I-I mean-"
"They wouldn't let him live if they got him..." her voice began to waver, "I wonder if he's still alive. If he made it..."
Tyler was unresponsive for a moment, "That's partially why we are out here, right? Next one we hit, we'll ask," it sounded as if it was a joke, but the man was completely serious. Interrogation was an option.
More silence followed. It became incredibly commonplace since the night the sun broke. All they could do was scatter. Only one didn't make it.
"Turn off the lights. It might be easier to get one," Amy suggested, peering past the faux sunlight, "some might be following us."
Tyler did so and soon, they were plunged into darkness. The gravel crunched under the tires as the engine hummed softly, the only noise in the cabin. The sound alone would likely attract them.
"Turn the lights on," the woman spoke the command softly.
The lights were on once more, flooding the area behind them and in front of them. A loud hissing followed from behind. Tyler glanced up at the rear view mirror, seeing the flash of one of those monsters dipping back into the darkness. Without being told, he repeated the process. Again. And again.
"Maybe we'll actually kill a few of them tonight..." Amy smiled, seemingly the first time since the incident, "For Mark."
The truck screeched to a hault as thud rattled the cabin. A hissing broke through the air as Tyler snapped the lights back on. Quickly, Amy turned around to wake Kathryn and Ethan before jumping out with Tyler to take care of the harvester.
"You can't hide under the truck, you idiot!" Tyler chuckled as Amy quickly jumped on the male creature, pulling the heavy bastard as far as she could. She managed, despite her small frame. It was weak.
The blond raised the wooden stake in the air as she prepared to end the thing's life below her at any moment, "You listen to us, or I'm driving this thing right through your goddamn heart!"
The creature groaned, clearly dazed by being hit by their truck. Suddenly, Amy stopped, straining her eyes to see him in the shadow casted by the truck.
"No," she breathed out, "this isn't..."
"What's wrong?" Tyler barked, more alarmed than anything.
"Mark?" Amy's voice was soft as she simply placed her hands on his cheeks.
For a moment, the creature hissed at her touch, but quickly calmed himself, his voice hoarse, "Amy."
"Oh no, no, no," the woman pulled back before trying to hug him, "Mark-"
"Stop," he raised his head, her able to see him better. The fangs. Bigger than she once knew. Deadlier. The whites of his eyes were no longer white, but black. A deep red began to overtake his irises. She quickly backed up at the sight.
"Amy, he's turned..." Tyler felt the pit in his stomach turn from sinkhole to asteroid impact, "Every single one of them has wanted us dead. Even those who were once good people..."
"I'm not like them..." Mark began to sit up as Amy and Tyler quickly backed into the light. Kathryn and Ethan were now emerging from the truck.

All he could do at this point was run. The little voice in the back of his mind told him tiredly, it would not work. He knew they were fast. But maybe, just maybe he could outrun the hissing growing behind him. The taunting.
Mark was out of anything that could help him live, separated from the group in the dead of night. They all scattered, but he was corralled off by the harvesters. The man could only hope to anything and everything out there, that they were safe. If he had to die to keep them safe, so be it.
"Why are you running?" One of the creatures hissed.
"Just let us have a little taste!" Another snapped.
The flanneled man's legs were aching for a rest, however, his wish to stop was granted. Unable to see a thing in the darkness, he was soon rammed into from the left. A heavy weight bashed into him, taking him down. It wasn't solid ground they landed on. The land slipped under their weight, a small chunk of dirt sliding with them as they soon tumbled. The weight soon left Mark as his body slammed into a tree before letting him continue his fall.
There was a numbness in the man's left leg after he slammed on the forest floor, soon rolling to a stop. The leaves rustled as the sounds of the infected drifted in his ears. Mark quickly tried to sit up, but pain rocked his abdomen. He was unable to move.
A weight was on him again, one hand wrapped around his neck, the other pinning his shoulder down. The amount of times Mark had seen this happen to other people, it never prepared him. Though, the vampire didn't bite. Another set of hands soon pried his off of those around his neck, pinning them to the dirt below. Yet another came to wrap over his mouth.
"Your people have killed so many of us..." The one on top of his growled, "so many of us slaughtered by you 'vampire hunters'..."
Mark wanted to retort, his voice muffled by the hands.
"We could kill you, right here, right now. Take your blood drained corpse and leave it outside your pathetic little shelter... we could do that..." Mark felt the cold breath against his neck as the fangs grazed his skin.
"Or, we could fix you," there was silence for a moment, "Your leg... it's broken. You probably broke a few ribs, too... You ever hear that saying, 'I wouldn't wish this upon my enemies?'"
Mark recoiled in their grasp, trying in vain to break free.
"You may be our enemy, but I think that this is a better punishment, at least to you it is..." the harvester sank his teeth into Mark's throat.
The man writhed in the grasp, muffled screams trying to escape. The feeling of draining was replaced by cold. Cold flooded his veins, spreading quickly in his body.
He didn't even remember passing out, but he woke up just as the sun was rising. The moment one of the rays touched his skin, he felt a light stinging. Barely anything. However, as the sun rose, it turned to a scorching....
He was infected...

In Ethan's hands was that dreaded vampire muzzle, used when they wanted to really interrogate a harvester... the only way they'd trust taking him back.
"This is the only way you're coming back to camp," Ethan looked down, "Sorry..."

mcl headcanon masterpost - castiel
the fruity emo boy himself
he’s short and I will die on that hill, Castiel is like 5’3
owns two pairs of docs, one that was given to him by his mom that was her old pair (red ones, already broken in) and one pair of platforms he bought for himself at the end of high school (bitched about his feet hurting the whole time he was breaking them in) (Lysander also owns a couple of pair of docs and refused to hear his bitching)
oh yeah he's trans. he just is. one of them transmascs. he came out at 14 and his parents being pretty laidback were very accepting of him and he got to start hrt around 16. it wasn’t really a surprise, all he wore before even coming out were mcr hoodies and always wanted his hair short. it was after he came out he started being more comfortable with letting his hair grow
he’s known iris and nathaniel since they were kids. iris used to braid his hair when they were kids; they grew distant around 12-13, but she was still one of the first people he came out to. when he grows his hair out again she asks if she can give him some little braids again
contrary to lysander, castiel did not give up when his first stick and poke turned out wonky and just kept adding more and more tattoos.
he’s the baby of three kids; he has a brother and a sister, gabriel and clara. he was a surprise baby too, his parents thought they’d stop after two kids but then castiel happened
he committed a war crime in the fact that when he first started to dye his hair, he used splat hair dye. don’t use splat hair dye it will never go away. the bath was stained red for weeks and his dad made him scrub it so many times. his mom just found it funny because she knows the struggle
(kind of a side note, i think his mom is a former punk, she doesn’t dress the part really nowadays because of her job, but she still has the spirit. she made castiel discover a lot of her favourite punk music from her youth)

always has like an inch of roots showing before touching up his hair. i think at some point in university he just stops keeping up with it and grows out his natural hair
contrary to lys, he’d love getting piercings, but not so much tattoos. piercings hurt on the spot, a tattoo can take hours to do and u just suffer the whole time. i think he’d probably get a few on his ears, a septum (classic first facial piercing imo), then maybe a bridge and either angel bites (top lip, kind of gives the effect of little fangs) or snake bites (bottom lip, gives the effect of snake fangs, like the name). would also get his tongue pierced because this man gives head like its his last meal
his biggest flex is that he has a fully healed industrial piercing (that little bar in the cartilage at the top of ur ear.... i know so many people who tried piercing it multiple times and it rejected every time)
he’s mixed latino (from his mom) and chinese (from his dad)
him and iris are the same height after castiel starts testosterone; she’s 5’3 too, and he ends up growing about two inches with hrt. nathaniel, who they have known since they were kids, ends up growing taller than both of them by a lot
it’s not because he’s short that he can’t fight. sometimes the fire sign just has to get out yknow. seriously i think he has some problems processing his emotions and so they all get mixed up in all kinds of different anger. if there is a character that do that thing in teen dramas where they get a baseball bat and go wreck stuff in a junkyard, it’s castiel
he picked up smoking almost accidentally (as we all do............dont smoke kids) and has tried to quit multiple times. i think he successfully did around the end of university
he became vegetarian after moving out and living on his own; meat was just too expensive so he kind of just dropped it and put that money to buy demon fancy dog food <3
he’s protective of nathaniel, after knowing about all his family trouble; they still have trouble getting along but castiel just had this feeling of wanting to know nath is okay because still, they’ve known each other for years
he’s the type to get really sleepy and giggly when he’s drunk and yes he’s embarrassed
he has A Hair Dye Shirt. people who dye their hair a lot, you know the one shirt i’m talking about. it’s probably torn in one place, has a cheesy faded out print, is covered in bleach stains and various colors of hair dye
at one point i think he’d shave the side of his head, while keeping his hair long, maybe at the end of high school
he probably hasn’t seen a hairdresser in YEARS because he cuts and dye his hair himself, sometimes it’s good and shiny, sometimes it’s a patchy uneven mess only cut on one side in the back
yeah he’s a leo but the rest of his chart is like all cancer and pisces, he looks tough but he has so many stupid little emotions
also contrary to lysander, he only learned guitar and bass as a teen. like that’s it. he was mostly self-taught, with the help of youtube. lys helped him with some singing stuff, but it’s really not his favourite thing to do. while lys is really good with writing lyrics and literally gifted with musical talent, he finds it hard to combine music to his lyrics, they never seem to fit together but that’s a good thing because that is castiel’s greatest strength with music
he was probably an overachiever as a child, but as a teen the dysphoria hit and the mental health issues started so his grades tanked for a while before coming back up in his last two years of high school, when he finally got to present as himself
on the subject of mental health; he unfortunately got the Clinical Depression Gene from his dad, so a little bit after starting hrt, he also gets started on anti depressants
he also has mild insomnia, and usually goes on walks at night when he can’t sleep
did he chose his name because he watched one too many episodes of supernatural? maybe. we will never know
