This is bones of 92 anon I'm going to be so real right now about how heart broken I am about what awstens behavior and shittier lyrics mean for my psyche because like. The music means so much to me personally like I have been around and held them as my fave band since before dd because I just had such a level of love for his lyrics and sound even and to watch it steadily decline as he cries about how it's everyone's fault but his own hurts!

however, no, i cant imagine hed be embarrassed of the earnest, honest, true to his experience lyrics off the EPs. he used to harp OVER and OVER again how meaningless music was if it didnt come straight from your heart, your gut…. hed constantly rag on other bands who put our impersonal, cookie-cutter lyrics that didnt manage to say literally anything. i have to believe that artistic integrity is still in him somewhere

AS FOR THE CLOSET THING: this is viable actually lol. its no secret that songs off cluster and double dare are about how he felt when otto did what he did to him. maybe he feels he showed his hand a little too much because music was the only place he could get those feelings out (bc he sure as hell couldnt talk to otto about it lol) i dont think this is the driving reason he CLAIMS to hate the eps, but its a possibility for sure

i absolutely love this album. its my favorite….. not only do i love the music itself and the motifs and of course the lyrics (id say a good 2/3 of my fav parx lyrics are off this album) but also?? the fucking agony of knowing the motif and how it ends….. watching awsten throw himself, headlong and desperate, after someone (some…ones?) who just doesnt. fucking. want him back. OUUGHHH it gets me so bad. it literally guts me like a fish. you wont like what you see so keep your eyes off of me. i fall in love with everything that wants nothing to do with me. youve painted your future but im just not in the picture maybe i missed the frame, maybe im seconds late… will you get tired of my time? am i in his position now?
