The ballad of Lucy Gray Baird from Sonic to Eggman, a silly idea I got on my road trip

It has been a while since I started digital art,
Quite a while.
So here is a 'progress over the last two years' since I gained access to a drawing tablet.
:D
Tumblr media
This is my first ever digitally illustrated piece- compared to my latest one-
Tumblr media
So, a little bit different.
I do think my art took quite a jump around June 2022, when I took a break from my Steve comic strip, (for obvious reasons- it was about Technoblade's polar bear so...) and decided to try practicing gesture drawing to see if it helped my general anatomy knowledge. This is before,
Tumblr media
And this next one is after.
Tumblr media
The most obvious change here is that I switched to using thinner lines. There is a gap of about two months between these.
This was when I realised that you could improve art by practicing it (mind-blowing I know), and then started to do just that. Some other notable jumps forward would be when I discovered the airbrush-
Well, discovered a new method of shading with it anyway.
Tumblr media
Then after that I had a few pictures that I actually still like, despite them being pretty old at this point, the one below is actually from September of 2022-
Tumblr media
I mean, the hands are a bit iffy, but the rest looks alright. This was when I was going through a bit of a melanie martinez phase-
This next one was from January of 2023, I'd only just gotten into bungou stray dogs via some random memes on pinterest about this weird brown haired guy who had lots of bandages and who had this running gag with wanting to die- I actually looked him up at one point, but that didn't really explain much. The main one that I remember was 'life is short, so make it shorter, shorter than chuuya~'
Which at the time was just kind of confusing,
Then I watched the show and it made perfect sense.
Tumblr media
I'd discovered ascendance of a bookworm in like, 2021, but I hadn't really been doing fanart of it since I was mainly doing dsmp related stuff and I kind of assumed nobody would know what on earth I was referencing. Turns out tumblr has a lot more bookworm fans than I orignally anticipated. Instagram still has no clue. I think maybe one person out of my followers on instagram knows what I'm on about-
Then we've got these two which I am still proud of btw-
The first one is from a dystopian/time travel fanfic called viridian.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second one was after I learned about rim lighting. It was inspired by a song actually, 'crash' by noevaii. (and yes I found that song from a sad-ist animatic, it was cool) The character isn't anyone in particular. They're both from February 2023.
Then there's probably my most liked picture on instagram, (not tumblr, since tumblr knows about bsd and bookworm, but y'know. This was even sadder than I originally intended since the last half of my comic strip was finished AFTER everything happened)
Tumblr media
Then the final conclusion of my Steve comic strip in May of 2023.
Tumblr media
I don't think my art really changed much in between those, but eh.
Then I switched to doing a bunch of ascendance of a bookworm stuff to see what would happen and turns out there are way more fellow fans out there than I anticipated-
Tumblr media
Then I guess my next breakthrough in tumblr popularity, (even if it might not have been a breakthrough in art skills necessarily) was when things went DOWN in the bsd fandom with chapter 109 and I did probably one of my most liked tumblr posts I have ever done-
Tumblr media
If you want to see the rest of that, feel free to scroll down on my tumblr page, the original's like eight pages long-
This was before anyone knew what was going to happen btw.
I still think it's hilarious that I put in chuuya having contacts. My reasoning being, they're on a film set,
It was a pretty interesting exercise in shading in monochrome.
Then I started a 30 day art challenge in October that I didn't get past day six of, but it was still pretty fun. This is the best one of those-
Tumblr media
After that I spent most of my time studying for the jlpt n5, so I didn't really do that much art related stuff,
This is one of the two non-commission related pictures that I finished over the two months after I kind of gave up on the art challenge. This one's from November,
Tumblr media
Then I finally finished an art commission I'd been working on for the three months prior, as well as studying. Here is an example of the type of pictures I was doing for that,
Tumblr media
Then I was occupied with christmas and birthday presents for my siblings, both my little sisters are into ascendance of a bookworm- (completely my fault I am proud to say) so I was able to do stuff related to that, here's a couple of snippets, but you guys don't get the colour version hehe
Tumblr media
And one of them has also read the entire fma manga just like I have so-
Tumblr media
Anyway, it's been quite a progression since I resolved to master digital art in 2021.
I reckon I've come a fair way since then. I mean. My art skills in general are way better than they used to be. The last two or three years have been pretty interesting.
Also-
Just had to include this one, I'm gonna do a more detailed version but still-
Tumblr media
I think it's funny so I'm posting it here. Even if it's not really related to art progression-

ANIMATORS NEEDED
Hello!
Though you may have heard, since we've been advertising it constantly for the past while, we are working on an original cartoon project called Psychomachia!
A few things you need to know: first of all, this project is UNPAID. While we understand this can make it seem unappealing to someone more experienced, we hope that this can be an opportunity to learn and grow, and especially to have fun!
So far, we have a writer, a storyboard artist, two colorists, and six voice actors for the main cast! Unfortunately, animating is a process with a lot of moving parts (literally), so we're going to need some more people for that.
Before we get into that, we want to show you a bit of what we've been working on, so you can get a feel for the project!
Here's a bit of the storyboard, done by the wonderful @Aspen67!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very cool, right? :D
So, if you clicked "keep reading," we can assume that means your interest is piqued. Good!
Now, let me tell you a little about what the story is about.
Our story follows Israel; A Nephalem born of an angel and a demon, a.k.a., his parents: Paul and Persephone.
In the afterlife, there are multiple jobs to chose from, but the toughest and most fulfilling is the role of an Id or Superego (working titles). Their job is to guide the person they're assigned to to a path of righteousness...
Or a path of deviance...
Being a Nephalem, Israel has a tough time getting a job--- and when he finally does, he's assigned to a very not good little girl named Rebecca.
Sound fun?
If you made it this far, we can assume you're at least somewhat interested, right?
While we're also looking for people to work on music and sound design, our main focus right now is animation. There are a few specific roles that need filling that we'd like to focus on for now.
For all
It would be good if you have:
experience with digital drawing (it doesn’t have to be much – you hold a pen in your hand a few times – you’re good!)
a program that that allows you to save images in png. format
discord for communication
AND a passion for animation combined with good vibes only :D
And for specific roles...
LINEARTIST
Your part in the project:
You'll receive an animatic with keyframes and rough in-betweens. Your job will be to make the lineart of all moving parts (mostly people).
It would be good if you have:
- smooth, consistent lines
- the ability to maintain a consistent art style between frames
- and the ability to imitate other styles (you don't have to be a copy machine!)
BACKGROUND ARTIST
Your part in the project:
You’ll get sketches of a BG and your job will be to turn them into a rendered BG art piece, that can by used directly in the final animation.
It would be good if you have:
a basic understanding of perspective, light and shadow and colors
different parts of BG on separate layers/images saved (so we can move them in post if needed ^^)
COLORIST (SHADING)
Your part in the project:
You’ll get colored drawings with a BG and your job will be to set characters in the scene by placing shadows and reflections in the right places.
It would be good if you have:
a basic understanding of shadows and lights
the ability to feel the mood of each shot and transfer it into the animation
REVISIONIST
Your part in the project:
You’ll be shown the animatic and then the final animation; and what we want you to do is to look for mistakes – in consistency between the frames, in perspective, and other things, etc – and then suggest options on how to fix them.
It would be good if you have:
some experience in animation and a basic understanding of every part of it (so you know how it basically works)
the ability to make clear notes about mistakes you’ve found
enough confidence to share your opinion on things!
Wowza!
Of course, there can be more than one person for each role, one person dabbling in multiple roles, etc. We need people and will fit them where we can, if you choose to join.
If you ARE interested, you can contact us at any one of these places:
Casting Call Club
Or Tumblr DMs!
We hope to see you soon! :)

#OneNETnewsINVESTIGATES: Bleach Fandom Community on The X Network face Massive Death Threats and Harassments, targeting animators at a Japanese anime studio [EXCLUSIVE]
Tumblr media
TRIGGER WARNING: The following investigative news report contains a higher dose of extra severe graphic nature and anime culture issues. Our news organization of OneNETnews has a STRICT zero-tolerance policy and we do NOT fully promote, aggressively attacking or condone to expose the hate in a political matter. Read our IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER in this news article below, mga-Kabandera.
TOKYO, JAPAN -- In a brazen but saddened turn of events, fans of the popular anime series 'Bleach' have recently taken to the X Network (formerly Twitter) unleashing a barrage of death threats, harassments and a brazen cesspool of hate speech against animators from Studio Pierrot, following the release of 'Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War'. The Japanese animators' safety and well-being have been seriously affected by these toxic actions with corrupted anime production. Sport entertainment, pop culture and the digital insider 'Sportskeeda' obtained the exclusive investigative insights into this disturbing trend to expose political hatred of anime, shedding light on the impact of these threats and the potential ramifications for the future of the beloved anime.
Tumblr media
(FILE PHOTO COURTESY: Google Images)
To comprehend this distasteful tragedy, it's essential to understand the significance of Bleach within anime. Bleach is a renowned anime and manga series created by Mr. Noriaki Kubo.
Tumblr media
A male protagonist teen with ghost-seeing abilities, Ichigo Kurosaki is assigned the role of Soul Reaper, a soul-guiding agent who protects the living world from evil spirits of hell. A mix of action, supernatural elements and intricate storytelling captivated audiences worldwide, since its debuted on television originally from Japan.
Tumblr media
The latest installment 'Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War' in the early mid-October 2022 -- marked the return of the series, after a long hiatus from late-March 2012, much to the delight of the fans. However, as the show progressed, a faction of disgruntled fans began expressing their dissatisfaction on social media platforms such as the X Network and Threads (who were individually owned by the X Corporation and Meta Platforms Inc.), specifically targeting all animators associated with Studio Pierrot in the aforesaid home country of Tokyo Prefecture.
Tumblr media
An animation director of 'Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War' named Satoshi Sakai, became entangled in this virtual controversy. Although under immense pressure and risk, Sakai and others at Studio Pierrot wasn't publicly issued an apology or taken any drastic steps to halt production of the new sequel.
Tumblr media
(SCREENGRAB COURTESY: The X Network, formerly Twitter)
One theory surrounding Sakai's decision by refusing to apologize or cancel the anime sequel suggests that the animators and Studio Pierrot are caught in a difficult predicament. While the threats and harassment are unjustifiable and reprehensible, some speculate that a public apology or cancellation could set a dangerous precedent for creators worldwide. It could embolden extremist fans to a rudeful, weaponize threats and harassments to exert control over the creative direction of their favorite series.
Tumblr media
Moreover, Studio Pierrot may also be reluctant to abandon the 'Bleach' franchise altogether, regardless the movie or anime TV series. Bleach has been a significant source of revenue for the studio, and ending it abruptly could have severe financial consequences. Additionally, the studio may believe that addressing the toxic behavior through proper channels, such as reporting it to law enforcement and social media platforms, is a more responsible approach to handling the situation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(SCREENGRAB COURTESY: The X Network, formerly Twitter)
The conventional crisis was garnered its Western attention, with international fans and fellow industry professionals expressing their support for the animators and condemning the harassment. However, as this situation unfolds, it raises critical questions about the state of cancelled culture and the responsibility of online social media platform like the X Network, to address this abusive behavior.
Tumblr media
In light of these developments, the anime fandom of 'Bleach' is at a crossroads. There are many former and current anime fans at present -- who still cherish the series and the creators, however a vocal minority threatens to overshadow the positive aspects of the anime community due to their actions. The future of 'Bleach' and the well-being of its animators hang in the balance, as the world watches to see how this disturbing chapter unfolds.

Hii lookie! Even though I only made like 4 fully rendered pieces this year, I'm happy with what I've done this year!
(For months where I dont't have fully rendered finished pieces I put in the next closest thing I have that month.)
Ramble under the cut where I try to go over each month
General overview:
Funny thing I've noticed is how often I used cool tones this year bc my older art (that ive never shown from like 2 years ago) was characterized by warm tones
Even though I work through fully rendered pieces super slowly and barely come out of the year with any, I'm super proud of my progress this year! I've learnt and grown a lot as an artist and have also realized my potential. With that though also comes my fear of not being able to top what I've done, which I'm trying to work on! My issue is I tend to produce a lot of art when feeling highly inspired by a media, and right now I don't exactly feel the same kind of spontaneous and passionate inspiration as I did during the year. I'm definitely dealing with some sort of mental block right now when it comes to digital art and I'm hoping to get through that soon because I miss the process of making something I love through drawing!!
January:
honestly thought the boatem piece was done last year so I was surprised to find it in my January files! This piece was kind of a turning point for my art as it was my first more complex pieces (i had not previously done a piece w more than 1 character in it really). It was a lot of work and I was very nervous about it but I'm quite proud of what I was able to do!
Late january is also when i started sketching out the ethubs piece actually (i work slow)!
February:
I didn't actually do a ton of art this month, as I tend to take a break and slow down right after finishing a piece. At this point I was very keen on doing pose studies traditionally. I posted some of these and most of them were desert duo.
This month i started to really figure out my dnd character Ethe's main design as our campaign was starting. So, i did a portrait of her for that. The rest of February was working on ethubs and studying how to paint grass and clouds and just sketching here and there. I think desert duo brain rot was strongest this month
March:
March was also a mix of pose studies and random sketches and FINALLY FINISHING ETHUBS. I was also doing some art for dnd ^_^
April:
I finished the dragonborn npc centered dnd piece this month, and also began sketching out the cleo piece. In between working on cleo I did some joe art including an animatic featuring the wordle boarder and the sketch for biblically accurate joe :D
May:
Pretty much anytime i had procreate open in may I was working on Cleo. This is the most ambitious art project I have taken on and I wasn't sure if I was able to make it how I wanted, so I was kind of slow and on and off with it. I ended up putting it down towards the end of the month and did some more personal illustrations
June:
Big month for my dnd blorbos tbh! I introduced a sister for Ethe and was working on her design and their interactions. I also got a bigger sketchbook this month and did a bunch of traditional studies. I finished the flats for cleo this month and took a break so most of the art I did were sketches
July:
I was in the home stretch for cleo and with the help of my friends telling me to finish it i finally pushed through and finished it. I couldnt be happier w the results!! it's one of my proudest pieces this year and I put in so much work for it. But after I finished it i took a huge break from mcyt art and focused on dnd art yet again.
August:
My work for the multidimensional big bang started this month!! I worked out the character design early august and had a sketch for the full piece by the end of the month. In the meantime I was actually working on a cat painting I never posted... maybe I'll post it in an end of year art dump
September:
This month was all about the big bang piece. I had so much fun doing it and am super proud of the finished product. Im especially happy with the composition and inclusion of the background characters!!
October:
Again. Major break from making full pieces after finishing a huge one last month. I think I spent more of my creative energy elsewhere like my writing. Also school started again and I had moved apartments and there was a lot of irl stuff preventing me from drawing. I did try to do traditional studies if I could
November:
Kind of a dead month for drawing. Super busy w school, chugging my way through Ethe's ref sheet i started months ago.
December:
Literally haven't drawn anything new besides a new years illustration for greeting cards. I picked up crocheting again and have been spending a lot of creative energy on that instead, but to keep my drawing going I've been doing more figure studies in my sketch book i guess!

etta! thinking about you and your wips tonight! take this as a freebie ask to ramble about anything!
Hi Katie! How have you been doing?
Currently I have more non-writing active works in progress than stories but the quick rundown goes as so!
hand-sewing a pirate shirt as part of a cosplay base: but specifically so that I can be Vin from the Mistborn series this halloween. (I hope) I have all the materials I need and they're mostly cut out and stitched together in various stages of progress depending on what part of the shirt we're talking about. I mostly work on this during zoom calls for dnd games, but I've also been sick on-and-off since MAY and so I also spend a decent amount of time on the weekends just sitting around for hours and hyperfixating on a relatively simple task while youtube runs in the background
Editing Runaways before summer ends so that I can throw the 3rd draft at a second round of Beta readers while I'm dealing with the inevitable senior year uni drama. This is slower going than hoped due to being sick more or less all summer and not having the energy to do braining but we're getting the ball moving again. The core of the story will remain the same but this draft includes several big fixes that will hopefully help smooth out the entire story, such as...
Refining Hannah's character arc and her relationships with her family members
Providing more exposition and backstory as to the villain's motivations and the greater conflict going on in the fae world that the characters don't directly interact with,
Tweaking a couple of continuity errors and changing the worldbuilding to eliminate contradictions
strengthening the tone and voice and mood and pacing and all that good nitpicky sentence level stuff
Learning a bunch of songs on the guitar: I got a fingerstyle version of Fireflies by Owl City that I've been slowly picking up and I have some other pieces that I've been learning to sing and strum when I have a voice.
Figuring out audio recording, storage, editing, etc: This started as a project to record my dnd games for our group to use as review, but I might be exploring audio drama and podcast options in the near future once I get my act together.
Catching up on people's stories and my reading goals on goodreads: I can mostly read at work thanks to the nature of the tests I'm running at my internship this summer, so I've been splitting that between audiobooks, podcasts, ebooks, and fanfic
Sewing a bunch of patches onto my jacket/misc. embroidery projects: idk if I ever posted about this on here, but I have this green handmedown jacket that I love and want to customize so I've been embroidering homemade patches for it and sewing them on for several months now. I have a couple more my parents got me to add, there's florals attached now to give it some 3D texture, I want to add charms to make it noisy, it's a whole project on it's own separate from the sewing. I've also got leftover scrap fabric from the shirt I'll be turning into a dnd dice bag eventually
Author platform stuff/Catching up on writing reviews: because reviews really help indie authors! I want to do my part to help them get the recognition they deserve. Also maintaining my website is a part time job in and of itself so that's a decent chunk of my evenings.
Teaching myself digital art/animation: I impulse-bought a drawing tablet on a good deal earlier this summer and I'm putting it to good use with updated character art and illustrations, and hopefully some animatics or vine comps soon once I get my act together with THAT and overcome my fear of video editing.
Talking to friends and working on club stuff for uni: because none of them are here and I miss them :(
basically, I work for ~40 hours a week and spend the rest of my waking hours desperately wishing I had more free time, even those this is the most free time I've had in probably two+ years haha. If my body could stop dying for more than a week that would be great though :P
Thank you for checking in!

FMP pitch
Teaser
a homeless man have been blocked way by three staff in supermarket. He is suspected of shoplifting.
Synopsis
The man is sitting in the police station in nervous, and faced to the police officer. He is closing his eyes slowly, and recalling the most difficult memory for him......
Story
The homeless man is finishing check-out in the supermarket and ready to move out. At the exit, three staff in the supermarket are reached and blocked his way. The man is nervous and at a loss. He do not know why they find him, judging from their expressions, something bad might be about to happen.
Excuse me Sir, you are suspected of shoplifting. Please let us check your bag and other personal belongings. One of the supermarket staff said to the homeless man.
They took the shopping bag of the man and shaked out the contents in it. The sound of heavy metal colliding on the ground. One of the staff picked up a canned beer, it is not what they want.
Where did you hide it? The box of meat you stolen. The staff who picked the beer up asked. From his expression, the staff is convinced that the fact of shoplifting by the man.
Surrounding people are whispering. The staff's words were loud and powerful, and inadvertently guided the public opinion. The man felt the suspicious eyes of the surrounding people shining on his back, like countless sharp thorns piercing his body deeply. With low self-esteem and cowardice, he finally couldn't bear the pressure at this moment and exploded.
I didn't do anything wrong! I didn't steal anything! Please! Trust me!
At this time, the other staff have also spoke. He explained the reason why the man was approached today. A few minutes ago, they are in control room and saw that man is standing in front of the refrigerator and quietly put a box of meat into his backpack. Therefore, the staff have locked the appearance of suspected target and contacted one of the security in front of exit by walkie talkie, to prevent the man escape from the supermarket.
Then, they ran out of control room and reached as soon as possible to block his way at the exit, until now. However, one thing very weird is the dissappearing backpack. According to the supermarket staff's description, the man put the meat into his backpack. When they found the man, there was no backpack in his personal belongings. Instead, there is a supermarket shopping bag that could be seen everywhere, as well as a can of sardines and a can of beer in the shopping bag.
Although they did not find the box of meat that the man stole or his backpack, they still suspected that the man had a partner in the crime.
Afterwards, they called the police. In the police station, the police officer have asked and take notes with the supermarket staff and the suspected men separately. Immediately after, the police officer compared the notes from both sides. He initially judged that the suspect is innocent.
Animation Settings
I would like to make this 2D animation in different methods of materials but mainly in digital. Based on the advice and suggestions I got last time, I think it is important to show diffrent texture on its specific scenes. I am satisfied with the part I shot with the paper-based mini police station and the ceiling fan made by ice cream sticks. Therefore, I may keep the style in my first draft of animatic and trying to add more contents and dialogues to it.
Tumblr media
As the first draft film I inicially designed, the film is basically coloured with blue. I firmly believe in the principle that less is more, so I am prefer to use 1 or 2 types of colours to build the story. Therefore, it will be not a 'colourful' film in this way.
Characters
Initial character designs on sketchbook:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the reference of the supermarket uniforms, I compared both in Sainsbury's and Audi and I found the latter is most similar to the design in my imagine. Therefore, I would like to choose the Audi employee uniforms as the basis for my character design on supermarket staff.

Week 6-Storyboards, Anticipation & Staging
This is the storyboard that I made for this exercise, I was mainly focusing on making the poses clear and trying to make sure I was leading the viewer’s eye to the area of interest with the rule of thirds. I think it help to build anticipation if the viewer can see what the character is actually focused on.
The main focus of this exercise, however, is staging and the line of action, which means that the characters entire body should indicate what it is doing, how it is behaving, so that it may be readable even in silhouette.
As you can see, some lines of action are more exaggerated than others, and this is also important, as the line of action should reflect the characters mood. So if its more relaxed, as in the first frame of the storyboard, its not going to be really twisting and contorting, compared to the second frame when the flour sack notices the pole jump.
Drawing thumbnails also helps me keep things lose, I don’t feel as precious about them and it allows for more pushing and exaggerating of poses.
As you can see in the lower image, I had to scan my storyboard and draw over it in photoshop as the original scan wasn’t picking up the drawings clearly, and anyway, if I was working on a project, I would probably want a digital version as its easier to turn into an animatic.

Final cut pro 10
Tumblr media
#FINAL CUT PRO 10 PRO#
#FINAL CUT PRO 10 MAC#
This restores detail to the highlights and produces a more natural range of colors that you can export to any device or social media platform.
#FINAL CUT PRO 10 MAC#
To help your Mac display the colors and tones from an HDR clip you can drag the new HDR tool effect onto the timeline’s footage. HDR clips on a non-HDR display look overexposed and have garish colors.
#FINAL CUT PRO 10 PRO#
This enables you to quickly produce creative split-screen effects such as turning one person into twins or even triplets!Īs you’d expect, Final Cut Pro X can handle a range of professional video formats including 10-bit DolbyVision HDR clips sourced from an iPhone 12 Pro Max. In addition you can combine footage from different layers using hand drawn masks with animatable control points. You can also use Matte tools to soften a hard edge key around your subject and expand or contract it for a more effective composite. You can use the Keyer panel’s sliders to fill holes in the background and reduce the presence of green light spilling onto your subject for a cleaner key. Final Cut Pro X has a more comprehensive collection of keying tools that enable you to produce more effective composite sequences. IMovie offers the ability to composite clips using green screen keying, but you have limited control when it comes to solving problems such as shadows on the background causing an uneven key. (Image credit: George Cairns/Digital Camera World) (opens in new tab) The new HDR tool enables you to adjust a high dynamic range (HDR) clip to suit a standard dynamic range (SDR) project’s colors and tones You can then embed a caption file into your video program on Vimeo or YouTube that viewers can manually turn on and off using the Closed Caption (CC) menu option. These tend to produce very hit and miss results, with words such as ‘Hermit’ being translated as ‘Hermes’ for example! Final Cut Pro X’s Caption tool enables you to manually type captions into the timeline and then export these accurate captions in. Social media sites such as YouTube can generate automatic subtitles based on a program’s audio track. You can choose the best quality sound track from one camera while viewing footage from another. You can then pop the multi-cam clip into the timeline, play the clip and tap a number key to cut between each camera as if you were using a vision mixer. Final Cut Pro X can use the audio in these simultaneous recordings to automatically sync them all together into a multi-cam clip. For example you may have filmed an event such as an interview using two or three cameras to capture a range of shot sizes and angles. (Image credit: George Cairns/Digital Camera World) (opens in new tab)Īs well as enabling you to grade clips and add creative effects, Final Cut Pro X takes the chore out of common tasks such as syncing multiple clips. These animatable filter effects enable you to add texture and variety to your footage and help you tell a story in a more creative way.Īdvanced tools enable you to use key-framable masks to combine split-screen effects with composited green screen layers. You can use key frames to change the camera’s focus and even trigger a shutter animation to make it take a snap. For example the SLR filter makes footage look like it’s being viewed through an SLR camera’s lens. Some filter effects are particularly creative. Unlike iMovie you can modify filter properties in Final Cut Pro X’s Video Inspector to customize the filtered look. Final Cut Pro X boasts a more comprehensive collection of 168 filter effects. IMovie offers a collection of 34 drag and drop filters that quickly produce a range creative looks. This enables you to perform creative color grades. For even more color control you can apply a Hue/Saturation color effect that enables you to use curves to selectively adjust a specific color's hue, saturation and lightness. The Color inspector also enables you to selectively tweak Saturation in the shadows, midtones and highlights or produce shifts in color hue for a more creative look. This undulating graph enables you to tweak exposure in the Color Inspector to create a healthy spread of tonal detail. To ensure that a clip is correctly exposed you can summon tools such as a Histogram Scope. Use tools such as a vectorscope, waveform or histogram to make more precise and effective tonal and color tweaks (Image credit: George Cairns/Digital Camera World) (opens in new tab)Īfter preforming the basic tasks of importing and editing clips you can explore the extra ‘bells and whistles’ that Final Cut Pro X has to offer thanks to its extensive set of high-end tools and features.

How to create an animated video
Tumblr media
Animation isn`t only for kids. People of every age are attracted to it, so it may paintings for any form of online video. Use it to inform a tale or promote a product. Make animated video production and tutorials simpler to understand, or improve consciousness with advertising and marketing or expert motion pictures. Even a slideshow is more enticing if you animate the photographs as they arrive inside and outside the body.
Not remember the kind or cause of your project, start with the aid of using writing a definition or drafting a script — the high-quality motion pictures begin with planning. If you intend to explain a complicated idea or process, begin writing the hard draft of your voice over narration. Note any thoughts, for example, or movement that comes to you in your paintings.
Once you've got a stable experience of your video`s structure, start story boarding or develop a chain of drawings to help you visualize the motion. Next, break down every scene shot with the aid of using the shot.
Your drawings don`t ought to be extraordinarily detailed, however the greater precise your storyboards are, the higher they`ll serve you because of the construction blocks on your animation. And in case you locate you`ve written something so one can be too hard or time-eating to achieve, strive to rewrite the scene to make it simpler to animate.
Though you won`t be taking pictures to stay in motion, the strategies of stay-motion storytelling can nonetheless assist you don't forget how to inform your tale. As you craft your storyboard, don't forget the digital digicam angles and shot sorts so one can paint high-quality together with your tale and assist maintain your target market engaged.
Make an animatic
Before they begin animating, expert lively video makers frequently create an animatic, a hard animation of the storyboards. With placeholder audio, also referred to as a scratch track, you could experience how the video and sound will paintings together. You may locate you want to regulate the timing of the voiceovers and heritage music, and it`s tons simpler and quicker to make those adjustments earlier than each body of the video has been lively.
Choose your equipment and begin video production.
The animation software program that high-quality suits your YouTube video rely upon the form of video advent you've got in mind.
Animate photographs.
Spice up a slideshow with movement. Animate photographs to slip inside and outside of the body, pan throughout them, and zoom in. With Adobe Premiere Rush, it`s clean to do it speedy proper to your phone. Order clips precisely as you want, pick out how lengthy every picture graph remains in the body, resize images, and personalize the panning and zooming effects. For even greater customization of transitions and management of the movement and visible modifications of every picture graph, use Adobe Premiere Pro.
Create vector animations
Turn any caricature or ink drawing into a lively cartoon. Once you've got your drawing, take an image of it and flip it right into a vector form together with your cell tool and Adobe Capture. (Vector shapes live sharp at any size so that you can blow up your drawing for massive screens.) Once you`ve become it right into a vector form, refine it, upload colour, and animate the drawing in Adobe Animate.
Make a whiteboard video
If you need to explain complicated trouble or technique and locate narration much less than riveting, strive for a whiteboard video. Motion can keep your visitors tuned in and assist them in observing you, even without phrases or sounds.
Pick the great video layout for YouTube
Shoot, edit, and export your video on the identical body charge and resolution for the great playback. YouTube helps numerous exceptional video record formats, however, for a video that appears right on the whole thing from telephones to widescreen TVs, shoot in 16:9 or any other huge layout and render with the H.264 codec to create an MP4.
If you assume human beings look at your video on their telephones only, export to YouTube at 480-pixel SD Wide or 480p SD. The right default is the same old 720p HD. For films that are complicated or heavy on visuals, select 1080p Full HD, however, that`s generally useless otherwise.
Once you locate your animation style, you`ll be capable of making films that get likes and subscribes. With such a lot of animation gear drawing energy from creative production agency technology, you may accomplish greater than you think, quicker than ever. So get began out and get matters moving.

Foreword Transcript
Hello! I’m Meems and I will be narrating and producing a fan-made audiobook of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint by Sing Shong. I thought I would create this foreword in order to handle some housekeeping for this project.
First and foremost, I do not own the rights to Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. I will not be monetizing this in any way.
If you want to use my voice to make your own transformative works, like animatics or AMVs, all I ask is that you do not monetize it and send it my way, because I’d love to see it!
I am creating this audiobook to help make ORV more accessible, as some people can only listen to books, find it easier than reading visually or they just prefer it! ORV is a story I really love so I want to make more people have the option to— I wanna make more people read it! No… I mean I do. I just want more people to have to option to read it if they’re interested in it.
My plan is to release roughly hour long episodes every Saturday. Episodes will probably cover around 6 chapters. I might go shorter or longer depending on if there is a more natural stopping point in the story or if I find myself with too much free time. It’s long long so it uh, doesn’t hurt to do an extra long episode on a week where I have some extra time.
I gonna do my best to be consistent with my update schedule, but be forewarned, I am just one guy. Delays will be shared on social media.
Speaking of social media, I will be on twitter @OrvOutloud and on Tumblr @orv-outloud.
I am not a professional narrator or a Korean speaker, so if you have corrections for my pronunciation or feel confused about the way I adapted something, please reach out. I can’t say I will have time to go back and retroactively correct things, but I will apply any feedback I can going forward.
The last thing I want to talk about in this foreword is some of the nitty-gritty details of adapting ORV into an audiobook.
First, ORV is originally in Korean and was translated by two different translators, Rainbow Turtle and A_Passing_Wanderer. There were changes made in the way things were translated when the translator changed over. To avoid confusion, the document I will be reading from will be the ORV epub that standardized the style of translation to match that of Rainbow Turtle throughout the novel. I will provide a link in the description as to where you can access this epub yourself.
Translation aside, another challenge to adapting ORV to audio is that ORV employs non-traditional formatting to convey certain elements of the story, and when read aloud these visual markers are lost. To compensate I will be using a combination of minimal sound effects, audio editing and voice acting as signifiers of them.
Here are the examples I can demonstrate ahead of time with minimal spoilers:
Digital or mental communication will be preceded by this [swish]. If it’s a long conversation I will only use a swish for the first and last message, as I don’t want it to sound like your phone is blowing up.
System messages will be preceded by this [ping].
Text from the Fourth Wall and quotes from Ways of Survival will be preceded by this [page turn noise or other ping].
True voice will have a mild [echo effect.]
Censored information will sound like this [static].
There’s a significant amount of onomatopoeia in this novel. I plan on making these noises with my mouth unless someone begs me to stop.
I am trying to find the balance between clarity and not overwhelming this audiobook with sound effects, so some of this may be subject to change.
I’ll provide a transcript of this episode, as it’s just me talking, but otherwise, if you want to read along, the EPUB is your friend.
I think that is everything I want to say ahead of time. Thank you for listening! I am excited to be your reader.

   I can’t breathe.
   Hours.
   How many hours?
I've been here for so long.
Logan's lungs ached. On his knees, he hung his head. The weight of his head pulling against the thick rubber cable around his neck, making it even harder to breath. He stayed there for a moment, swaying as he ignored the voice in the back of his mind screamed for air.The voice became increasingly persistent until he was forced to raise his head as the edges of his vision blurred.
   It doesn't matter.
Thick wires cut deep into his wrists, a solemn comfort that he was even alive. The fading had started hours ago, starteing in the tips of his fingers and slowly claiming his body.  He held up his hand. The translucent appearance of his digits a metaphorical punch to the gut as he jerked his head, the wire around his neck tightening like a noose.
I'll do you all a favor and spare you my company.
If he'd known the words would be some of his last, he would have chosen a subject more interesting to lecture on than Peter Singer's take one Effective Altruism. He could have talked about anything. Astronomy, chemistry—The others barely acknowledged his contributions as it stood. The topics may not have been relevant, but at least he would have been able to choose the lesson.
   His last lesson.
Logan whimpered as the thick wire tightened around his neck, cutting into the already raw skin. He wheezed a stiff breath against the heavy piece of rubber threatening to crush his windpipe.
Not that it would have had an impact on any of them.
The piles of dust scattered across the floor around him remained a stark reminder that his words fell flat on the ears of those he most needed to hear them. Thomas—His friends—
If that's even what they consider me at this point.
After all, he was here. No one had noted his absence in the hours he'd been gone.
   Why would they?
Clearly, his words were so unnecessary they should simply be skipped. He growled breathlessly in frustration as the binds around his wrists pulled taut. His arms were stretched out, pulled upward like some sort of sick marionette hanging limply on his knees. He glared into the empty space around him. His ‘room' as the others loved to refer to their personal corners of Thomas' mind.  His room. The awe-inspiring place had once been full of chemistry books and stars and all the little things that made Thomas curious. Logan had been collecting them since Thomas was a child, but it was gone, turned to piles of dust around his room as Thomas' search for knowledge fall further and further out of his mind.
   Unimportant.
   Just like him.
He couldn’t help the sick smirk on his face as the wires tightened once more around his throat, jerking his head upright. He swallowed a shallow breath, barely drawing oxygen as his airway strained to remain open.
   Unwanted.
Logan snarled bitterly as memories surfaced forcefully in his mind.
Not that any of you care, but I am unharmed—
I'll do you all a favor and spare you my company—
His own words from this video echoed in his mind as he choked on his own breath. Only Patton had objected, but his protests were weak and quickly forgotten. If one thing was clear, it was that his contributions were neither wanted, nor needed anymore.
They'll finally get what they've wanted all along—
Logan groaned as the wires pulled on his wrists and his shoulders ached, barely holding place in the sockets against the strain of the heavy cords threatening to pull him to pieces.
His life was a small price for them to pay for him to finally be silenced.
Roman wouldn't have to shut him up when he started rambling anymore. Virgil wouldn't have the added stress of convincing him that Thomas' fears were valid. Patton wouldn't have to feign the moral obligation of treating him like an equal, like he actually had a seat at the table. Thomas—Logan choked back a sob—Thomas wouldn't have to feel guilty about pursuing what actually made him happy.
   This is for the best.
After all, I already see how worthless my life had become—
Logan’s head jerked up at the sound of a sinister snicker. “Well, well, well—Look who's wandered a little too far from the light. I didn't take you for the bondage type, teach.”
He watched as Remus stepped out of the shadows, a menacing grin on his face as he approached. Logan scowled as Remus kicked through the piles of dust, scatter the last remnants of the things he once loved. “What are you doing here, Remus?”
“What am I doing here?” Remus cackled maniacally. “Oh, no, no, no. The better question is what are you doing on the dark side?”
“The dark—” A cry past Logan’s lips as the wires around his wrist jerked once more, dislocating his right shoulder. He groaned, daggers in his eyes as he glared at Remus. “You know what?”
Remus tilted his head at Logan, a show of mock concern as he brushed through yet another pile of dust.
“Fuck your questions.” Logan spat. “Leave me alone. The least the rest of you owe me is to let me fade away in peace.”
“You ought to watch that mouth of yours or you're going to disappoint the cardigan-clad killjoy. Besides, what are you going to do about it?” Remus giggled as Logan glared, stepping forward and waving his hand through Logan’s phantom limb. “Ghost me?”
Fire burned in Logan’s eyes as he stared at Remus, knowing he was helpless. Trapped, as Remus walked free to do as he pleased.
“So, nerdy wolverine,” Logan looked up as Remus leaned close to his face. “What happened to my invite to the pity party?”
“This isn't my doing,” Logan hissed, losing steam. “Thomas’ subconscious is pulling me back. I—I've outlived my purpose.”
“Pulling you back seems like an understatement. It looks to me like you’re about to be pulled to shreds—” Remus smirked, leaning against the wall behind him nonchalantly. “—and don’t get me wrong. I’m all about watching Thomas' mind tear you into little pieces, but you’re supposed to be pretty important for the big guy, right? Seems to me like Thomas is supposed to need you more than those other dorks on the light side.”
Logan gritted his teeth. “Clearly, you’re mistaken. They are managing perfectly well without me.”
“Oh, now I do sense a little bitterness.” Remus purred. “Maybe he's not so resigned as he looks.”
“Your point is null, Remus. My existence is of little consequence to anyone and the subconscious has made its decision.” Logan wheezed numbly, tears in his eyes as he tried to move his fingers, desperately hoping they were still there. “This is happening, whether I want it to or not.”
"Oh, I don't know." Remus mused absently. "I don't think all of that is true."
“What?” Logan strained painfully against the thick cord around his neck to turn his head to catch a glance at Remus.
“I wouldn’t say no one wants you around.”
Logan swallowed painfully, dropping his gaze in shame as tears brimmed in his eyes. “The others—”
“Screw the others.” Remus smirked as Logan stared a him. “I meant me.”
Logan froze, temporarily stunned as his limbs went limp in their binds. “You—you want me around?”
“Now, don't get all sappy on me, teach, but the others aren't as much fun to play with. They roll over to easy.” Remus wiggled his eyebrows at him and giggled as Logan stared blankly at him. “Not you though. You gave me a run for my money last time, and—and we made a good team. Didn't we?”
“What?” Logan winced as Remus raised a hand to his neck, staring at the wires digging into his skin. His fingertips brushed the edge of the wire's tight grip and the red, raw skin burned painfully at his touch, but the contact—the contact felt nice.Tears streaked down his face as emotions welled in his chest. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been touched so gently.
“We may have opposed each other, but really that was the only way to get through to Thomas and it worked.” Remus sighed, and Logan could see the sadness in his eyes as he pulled his hand back, looking into Logan's eyes. “I couldn't have done that without you. The rest of them would never have seen past the darkness in me.”
Logan stared blankly down at Remus for a long moment, before his purpose kicked in. “The others are unnecessary blinded by their narrow view of moral. The  concepts of light and dark are arguably meaningless. Assigning actions as good or evil only serves our biases and our internal need for affirmation of our own moral value—” Logan nearly bit down on his tongue as Remus raised an eyebrow at him. “—I'm sorry. I'm rambling.”
“I didn’t stop you, teach." Remus smirked. "I would gladly listen to you ramble about light and dark for hours.”
Logan blinked in surprise. For the first time in a long time, he actually believed someone was genuinely interested in his thoughts. He stared blankly at Remus until another tight squeeze of the wires caused his vision to blur. His head swayed, the lack of oxygen contributing to his fading consciousness.
“Unfortunately, I don't think we have the time right now.” Remus glanced at him nervously. “The subconscious has nearly claimed you."
“It's too late.” Logan wheezed, tears streaming down his face as he prepared for the mysterious edge of Thomas' mind to pull him apart.
“The subconscious could have just taken you.”
“What?”Logan cracked his eyes open at Remus' solemn whisper, nearly hyper ventilating from the strain to pull in enough oxygen to keep him conscious.
“You could have disappeared on the light side, but it brought you here.” Remus looked up at the wires trailing infinitely into the  mind palace above them.
Logan wearily stared up at him, black oblivion tugging at his vision as his head swayed. “So?”
“So, do you want to live, Logan?” Logan barely felt as Remus grabbed his collar.
Logan wheezed, exhaustion hanging onto his body as the pain intensified.
   “I need an answer, Logan.”
Logan closed his eyes, oblivion pulling at him as he whispered breathlessly. “Yes.”
“Alright,” Logan felt Remus drop his collar as he took a step back. “Forgive me for this.”
“Wha—” Logan’s statement was cut off as Remus' knuckles connected with his temple. His head was jerked to the side and the welts on his neck burned like fire from the sudden movement.
"Time to taste what you’re made of, Lo!”
Logan’s head jerked up as he lurched forward furiously. White hot rage surged through his veins as he bit bit his lip hard enough to draw blood.
What kind of sick bastard punches someone as they're dying.
His hands hung loosely at his sides as he screamed at Remus. “You piece of—What are you trying to do to—”
   Wait. Loosely?
The realization lasted only a moment before a second fist connected with his cheekbone. All rational thought left his mind as fury filled his being and he lunged forward at Remus. He cried out as his dislocated shoulder connected with Remus' chest, toppling him over. He gasped as he hit the ground and pain lit up across his body as his bruises and welts all connected with the ground with a loud thud.
“Shit, Lo. You knocked the breath right out of me.” Logan could hear the sounds of Remus shuffling next to him. “Hold on. I've got you.”
Logan felt Remus roll him over and he moaned in pain at the forced movement as his back settled on the cold ground.
“I know, Lo, but I've got to set your arm before you do some permanent damage.” Remus whispered gently. “Are you ready? On 3. 1—2—”
Logan's vision went white as pain shot through his body and his consciousness faded briefly. No times seemed to pass, but as he opened his eyes a moment, he found himself curled in Remus' arms. A quick glance down revealed that creative side had used his signature green sash to fashion a makeshift sling for his arm. He stared down at the gentle attention Remus had shown him and he couldn’t help but smile.
   Brilliant—
Logan cut off his thought with a sudden gasp. His uninjured hand shot to his neck, feeling—nothing. Tears streamed down his face as he looked up to Remus. “ The wires. Th-they’re gone.”
   I'm free.
“Sorry about the black eye I gave you to get you out of there.” Remus smirked as Logan looked up from his shaking hands, running his free hand through his hair as he looked away evasively as Logan stared at him. “I normally try to get permission before I get rough, but—”
“You did that for me.” Logan's mouth hung open as he traced the deep indents in his arms where the wires had constricted his wrists.
   Remus shrugged. “It wasn't noth—"
Logan sucked in a breath, going limp with the realization that someone cared enough to intervene. “It most certainly is something, Remus. Those wires—they've bound me for years. I don't think I even remember a time when they weren't—” Logan clenched his teeth, feeling the wet streaks mix with the blood from his lip running down his face. The realization of what just happened hit him all at once and he choked back a sob. “You saved my life.”
“Nah,” Remus brushed him off. “You did all the real work. Everyone’s got a little light and dark in ‘em, right? I just antagonized that little spark of anger in you until you went full Mr. Hyde to your usual Dr. Jekyll. A little push and the dark side accepted you.”
Logan blinked in shock as realization struck him. He dropped his gaze to the ground as he considered the days' events. "I'm a dark side now. Aren't I?"
"What happened to the idea that light and dark are arguably meaningless, nutty professor?" Remus giggled before turning serious. “Don't worry. You're not stuck with me. The subconscious’ grip on you is gone if you want to go back—”
“Don't make me go back, Re.”
Remus stared at Logan pleaded up at him. “Lo, you can stay, if you want, but Virgil’s gone. I'm pretty sure Janus checked out after the last vid. It's just me down here and I snore—”
“Remus, in the last ten minutes, you've shown me more humanity than any of the others have in years,” Anger flashed in Logan's eyes as he slowly straightened to his feet, glancing around the room. The piles of dust were gone, revealing a polished concrete floor, a blank canvas. “It all makes sense now.”
“What does” Remus paused and watched as Logan stood. With a devilish smirk, he brushed off the the dust of his shirt. The last remnants of the his empathy fading into oblivion.
Emotions. I always knew they were simply a nuisance.
“I couldn’t help Thomas from the light side. The rules, the niceties…They were preventing me from fulfilling my purpose. I need to be more forceful. More persistent. More angry” Logan looked up to see the night sky above them, an illusion of the mind palace and the beginning of a new chapter. A bitter smile spread across Logan's face as the dark clouds swirled above them, allowing only a sprinkling of stars to show through. “Don't you see, Remus? I need to make them listen. I need to make Thomas listen.”
Remus raised an eyebrow at him suspiciously. “You’re actually staying?”
A mischievous smile spread across Logan’s face as he watched items creep slowly up out of the floor, his room now feeling much like he'd had before. A desk, a globe. The room filled to the brim with bookshelves. Everything returned to his room just like before was except—a little darker, a little colder and about as welcoming as the sinister smile spreading across his face. “Yes, I think I'm going to get comfortable here, Remus.”
Remus matches his smile, giggling manically. “Ah yes, Lo. Let's burn this place to the ground!”
Free. He was free at last.
Logan chuckled, smiling at the wonderful man beside him. “Yes, Re, let's do just that.”

What can be created?
We accept a very wide range of submissions: stories, art (traditional art, digital art, comics, animatics, crafting, vidding, roleplay...) and podfics.
How does it work?
Participants create a Drarry-centric piece that is inspired by or based on a film, a theatre play or a TV series/show. Forgot to post this animation here as well, so better late than never, yeah?
I wanted to challenge myself to do an animation of my own characters (for the first time, not counting sketched things or my icon!!) in two days so I would have something else to submit to my college's Digital media Exhibition alongside my Reigen animatic! Unfortunately that Exhibition has passed now that I’m posting it here, and I didn’t get placed in the Animation category as a winner or anything, but... It may be only 20 seconds but I'm super pleased with how this turned out, considering my original idea for it was scrapped as well as the original song I was going for haha. I’M PROUD OF IT REGARDLESS OF WINNING! It was a personal challenge that I absolutely aced >:O
Also
I’ve added a new commission type for next opening!! If you’ve ever wanted an animation of your characters or maybe an animatic for a fandom, please check them out! :)
