Gordon Meredith Lightfoot Jr. Died on May 1, 2023 at the age of 84.
I am just soooooo deeply saddened by this news. Strangely I've seen and Gordon has even joked aboot how many times in the past he's apparently died, that I almost disregarded this one.
But alas, it's sadly true. Gordon Lightfoot, one of Canada's true treasures, has passed away this May 1st, 2023 at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.
His declining health had led him to cancel his tour 3 weeks earlier.
He was 84 years young.
May you forever be Alberta Bound.

To my followers and my closest friends, I’m deeply sorry from what’s happening yesterday. I was unexpectedly absent at the last day of April; due to having our home router acting up. My mom told me to wait until it can get fix for awhile.
Thankfully, it did. Just in time as we’re in the month of May and few days away of my Filipino friend’s birthday soon. Still it was a good thing that I’m here in time than the last time I’ve been through.

we live an existence marked by colours...
from blue moons to blue periods
just another label to box us with
because we all know the associations
to be blue is just a nicer way to say
you could die any day
but maybe I'm more than baby blue eyes that can't help but cry
I'm the bile yellow fear of the knowledge all things end
and the pissed off red of anger that that really isn't fair
the sunkissed orange of the joyful bliss of the few good days
and the chaste pink of cheeks as young love blossoms
the vibrant green of bittersweet summers of innocence I wish to grasp
and I suppose
the bitter blue tears from baby blue eyes at my inability to do so
but overall?
I am the white hot numbness of this overwhelming symphony of life and death and bitter bargains and hard won fights
and in the end?
I'm the pitch black void when the lights of the stage go out and the dream we call existence all comes crashing down
because I know
all things come to an end
but for now...
I am every colour under the sun and then some
the light that hits the glass prism
reflecting the rainbow of my highs and lows
so why focus on my blues?
