A while ago I made a post criticizing Overwatch for leaning into superheroic, noble imagery and branding despite the core gameplay loop consisting of around a dozen people who are canonically supposed to be on the same side throwing down for unclear reasons. This same criticism does not apply to the recently-announced Marvel Rivals, as a dozen Marvel superheroes fighting to the death for unclear reasons is more or less a one-to-one adaptation of the source material

so that new Marvel Overwatch looks legitimately fun to me (Third Person OW is all i ever wanted, & I get to play Spider-Man!) but uhhhh what are they doing with Peni Parker? Is this a version of her I've never seen in any of the comics...? To my eye shes a lil... whitewashed?

As far as I can tell, her mech is closest to the End of Spider-Geddon mech. (First IMG is that comic, the others are from Marvel Rivals) The Rivals version even has what appears to be japanese on the side. It kind of appears they just... Turned her into Tracer?

Which is a little weird considering that the only time she shows up as a human outside of her mech is that first cut in the trailer. She's in it the whole thing in the background and even dies at one point and her mech just limply falls to the floor, she doesn't fall out.

anyway if this is a canon design or close to one i've seen and I just can't find it or see her let me know! but it definitely doesn't feel like the Black Haired Peni Parker most people know/we've seen the most of which is just kind of bizarre.

Marvel Rivals Scarlet Witch

Have you guys saw the news about marvel want to make 6v6 overwatch look alike?? Slightly excited after watching their trailer because of playable Scarlet Witch. Her design well default skin is just 10/10. Her tiara, her big wavy hair, her mini skirt(?) and they make her brown skin. Dont like her shoulder pad but she look amazing. Surprisingly she's a dps instead of support. Not a big "dps" gamer but would love to give it a try playing her.
