─ whenever he sees you play against his female team of real madrid, he wants to support you by wearing your jersey, but he's afraid that he'll be a traitor to his team . so like, whenever he doesn't go out, he wears it, when nobody's looking

Author's note: This is my first imagine on Tumblr. Love, Love, Loved!!!!! Werewolf by Night, and I wanted to write a small fic.

Summary: Events explaining how Ted got caught up in the Bloodstone hunt.

Rated: PG

Some depictions of violence, Fluff, and kidnapping

My OC, (half human, half Fawn) Davina, will be played by Sonequa Martin-Green.

Storm clouds eclipse the countryside. The downpour was louder than the thunder that boomed overhead. In a cottage in the middle of a vast forest, a woman scrambles about the kitchen bathed in shadow with only the flashes from outside as her only aid. Yanking open junk drawers, which seemed to be every drawer, emptied out all the miscellaneous contents onto the floor. She blew a lock of hair from her face, wishing she had organized the drawers ages ago. A loud thud from something heavy hitting the ground.

"Finally!" She sighs, picking up the heavy-duty flashlight. Flickering to life despite the tinkling of glass rattling inside.

Something was obviously broken.

Rubbing out the obvious chip in the floor tile. Jumping into her red wellies, pulling her arms through the sleeves of her matching raincoat. Bracing herself as the harsh winds yanked the front door from her grip.

Tredging the three stone steps. The screaming of the front gate, and shrieking hinges forced to endure the wind's wrath. Hitting her torch against her leg until it released a constant beam.

"Theodore!" She yells, flinching from the return of thunder. Her flickering light did little to cut through the wall of rain. "Theodore!" trying to make out the shadows through the mist. Vague forms for the imagination to shape into fearsome threats. She tightened her fist around her collar as the wind sliced through her. "Theodore!" She tries again. Her breaths heaved; she clenched her fists, which began to numb.

---Six hours earlier---

"There you are." Jack smiles while leaning out of the window of their kitchen, overlooking the small garden. Davina laughs bashfully, standing and lifting the basket of strawberries freshly picked from their small bush.

"I was thinking for breakfast bread and jam, but it seems we have a jam burglar on the loose."

"Oh, no." He raises his brows in mocking but playful surprise. "Any suspects?" He couldn't help the smile on his face. Taking her basket through the window.

"I'd say, Theodore." She whispers as they both side-eye the creature watering a small patch of dandelions. "He's been acting suspicious." She adds.

The creature grunted, looking at the two. Narrowing his eyes, he returned to watering the flowers.

Davina gasped, looking at Jack.

"Thief." She breathes.

"Guilty," he admits. "In admitting my crimes, I'm afraid these won’t suffice." he sighs.

"Unfortunately. There should be more along the creek."

"It's such a beautiful day. I’ll come---"

"No, no, no. This is your lazy day." she scolds. The next full moon is exactly one week away. A time of high anxiety and isolation, they realized, made the post-transformation more exhausting and mentally damaging. So lazy days were created. Cups of tea, cuddles, books, time in the sun tending to the garden. "Be lazy," she demands.

Jake sighs with a look of worry.

"Theodore’s coming too," she gestures. "Nothing to worry about," she shrugs, following Theodore, who holds the gate open for her.

"You’re forgetting something." He objects.

"I'm all sweaty…" She reasons. "...and dirty." She shows her hands covered in dirt.

He retreats inside. After a few moments, the front door opens. She watches him come down the steps to meet her. He takes her wrist, planting her hand against his chest and white shirt. Then he rubs it in, making her gasp with amusement.

"So, I get a little dirty." He shrugs.

She chuckles, coyly gripping his shirt and reeling him in for a kiss that he smiles into.

"Be careful," he says.

"Always."

---Present time---

"Th-Theodore!!" shrieks break her calls, stumbling through the slick mud and grass. She catches sight of a flashlight coming out of the tree line. Quickening her pace, she recognized his dark green raincoat anywhere.

"Ted!" Jack calls, turning his head and trying to hone his hearing.

"Anything?" She pants. He shakes his head, wiping the rain from his eyes.

"Let's head back." He took her hand.

The two returned disheartedly to their small cottage.

---Four hours Earlier---

Washing a handful of plump strawberries in the babbling creek. Getting to her feet and inspecting the fruit. Taking a bite, falling into step with Ted. He grumbles and grunts.

"Really." Swallowing her bite, she took another fruit into her mouth. "Then what are they?" She asks.

Ted bellowed, gesturing with his free hand as she listened. "No, they're not!" She exclaims. Ted assures with a head nod.

"Where did you learn this?"

Ted grunted, giving her a knowing look.

"How could I forget?" She cocks a dubious brow. "Mr. Smarty Pants."

He chuckles, bumping her with his hip.

"Dr. Smarty Pants," she corrects. "M’kay."

Ted suddenly stops.

"Theodore." She calls, earning no response. "Ted?" She asks, standing in front of him as he peers into the surrounding trees.

A branch snaps, catching her attention. Snapping her head to the right. She is roughly shoved into the brush by Ted. Tumbling down a small hill onto her back, she knocked the wind out of her chest. Groaning while preparing to shout in anger, Ted's screams shook the woods. Shouts of men along with the screech of cattle prods. Finding herself as flat as possible on the ground, she watched the man in tactical gear look over and seemingly right at her. Instincts took over. Her body froze, eyes wide; she didn't breathe or make a sound.

With a scowl on his face, the man grips a walkie-talkie on his chest. "Team Bravo, over. Mission success. Taking the monster to base." He informs stepping away from the hill.

---Present time---

Lighting a couple of oil lamps, highlighting the woman's features in a warm glow. Her doe eyes were light, and her white-tufted ears were flicking forward to bask in the warmth. Now in dry clothes. A thick, warm hand-knit sweater, leggings, and fuzzy socks she adored. Filling a kettle and placing it on the stovetop to boil. The creaking footsteps of Jack coming down the stairs. Pulling his head through a now-dry shirt.

"I swear, if this is a prank, I'm killing you both." She states, preparing two mugs.

"I wish it were, my darling." Ruffling his hair with a towel that hung from his shoulder taking a seat at their dining table with a map on top. Uncapped a marker and began to mark it with Xs and Os.

She chuckles at his now frizzy head of salt and pepper. Pushing the strands from his eyes. Her hand rested below his chin. He hums in contentment as she lightly scratches the beginnings of a five o'clock shadow.

The kettle screams. Taking it off the heat and filled both mugs with her special brew.

"Alright." She hands him his tea as he hands her his marker. Placing a finger on the map, she traced the blue line to where it splits into four. "They ambushed us here." She circles the area. "Five men, armed. Mercenaries, maybe."

"Trophy hunters, most likely."

"Do you remember anything else? Patches, name tags, insignias?"

Flipping the map over to the blank side and closing her eyes, she sketched out what she could remember. The man who peered over the hill had a patch on his arm. "Something like that."

Furrowing his brow until realization took over his expression. "Bloodstone." He sighs, slouching in his seat, and runs his hands through his hair until they cover his face.

"Hey." She calls him. Rounding the table, kneeling to meet his downcast gaze hopefully. "We'll find him." She assured him, giving his knee a comforting squeeze.

He finally meets her eyes after a few moments.

"I know we will." He nods, trailing back to silence, and looks away.

She tilts her head with knitted brows. "Then what's wrong?" She asks.

"I should have gone with you guys, or had you stayed," he says, taking a breath while clenching his fists.

"Then you or Ted would have been taken," she counters.

"I knew better, especially in your condition." Jack takes a breath, leaning forward to rest his forehead against hers. "I wouldn't know what to do if they had taken you too." He whispers.

"I'm right here, thanks to Ted." She answers.

"Yeah." He returns.

"Let's save Mr. Garden Salad." She chuckled, straightening her sweater as she stood. "Ted owes me a new sweater for shoving me into the bushes." She tries to lighten the mood. Jack takes her wrists, halting her preening, planting his face into her abdomen, and linking his arms around her waist. She rests her arms a top his head. "Little pup enjoyed the excitement," she coos, placing her hand over Jack’s while their little pup entertained their mum and dad with a show of somersaults. "A bit of a roller coaster ride for 'em."

"Oh no, son como su madre." (Oh no, they're just like their mother.) He states this dramatically. He gives her small bump a kiss. "Dios, ayúdame" (God help me).

"Cuidadoso, Sr. Lobo." (Careful, Mr. Wolf.) She cautions.

"Thank you, I needed that." Composing himself. "Now, to bring Ted home," he states with an air of determination.

Itaweret, High Priestess of Mut from the Kemetian colony of Per-Pehu, takes a rest from her quest on some rocks in the Achaean countryside.

For those of you who have not met her yet, Itaweret is the heroine of my novel Priestess of the Lost Colony, which takes place in an alternate timeline wherein the people of Kemet (aka ancient Egypt) colonized the coast of Achaea (Greece) during the Bronze Age. When the Achaean warlord Scylax of Mycenae sacks the colony and enslaves its citizens, it is up to Itaweret and her younger brother Bek, guided by the goddess Mut, to liberate what remains of their people.

Itaweret’s story draws inspiration from a couple of ancient Greek legends about Egyptians settling on their shores. One comes from the writings of Herodotus, who claims that a pair of “black doves” (priestesses) from Egypt founded the Oracle of Dodona, whereas another tells of an Egyptian king’s fifty nieces fleeing to the Greek city of Argos. One scholar, Martin Bernal, has even suggested that these legends reflect an actual Egyptian colonization of Greece in his three-volume work Black Athena, although his hypothesis remains unsupported among archaeologists. Nonetheless, I thought the premise was fair game for an alternate-history story.

i think so -- i've been getting a lot of issues with this Most Definitely Functioning App And Website so i hope this works!

🍻 seeing races live

yes!! i will be somewhere out on the course for both the men's and women's Paris-Roubaix, which i'm super excited for as it'll be the first time i've seen a race live (except that time tour of britain passed through my hometown when i was ~4 but i don't remember much beyond waiting several hours in the heat for what amounted to a minute of unintelligible noise and cars going by), and i might be going to a Tour stage but we will see. plus definitely Tour of Britain if it still goes ahead and is nearby 🙏🙏

🔮 drop some predictions, no matter how big/small

okay let's have fun. all of these are just ~vibes~ and gut feelings but i will be making sure to bookmark this if anything does happen. variable startlists my beloathed.

Mathieu wins his third RVV from a small-group sprint but doesn't podium Roubaix. skips the Tour (or leaves at the end of first week) to focus on Olympic MTB where he wins a medal

Marianne Vos podiums Amstel

Jasper gets a big one-day win like Brugge-de-Panne again or GW, but misses out on the green jersey at the Tour

Cecilie wins two GT stages (if she rides two GTs, one if she rides one, but she crashed at Omloop, praying for a quick recovery 🙏🙏❤️)

Hugh Carthy wins a stage at the Giro i can feel it.

Tadej wins 3+ Giro stages then 2 Tour stages. comes off the back of winning the Giro in great form but misses out on the Tour podium because of a random event (illness/crash/mechanical etc) but another UAE rider makes the top 3

Cav gets #35, it's magical, wonderful, the commentators are crying, i'm crying, and then he doesn't start the next stage

Mads gets green at the Tour and 2 stage wins and probably green at the Dauphiné too

Primož wears yellow but doesn't win the Tour

'Giro stage shortened because of bad weather' would be a bit of a fork-found-in-kitchen prediction, but i think there'll be at least one Tour stage that's shortened/neutralised due to the heat

Whoever does win the Tour wins at least one other jersey (white if Remco, KOM if anyone else)

SDworx 1-2 at least two races with Demi and Lotte

there's a kind of surprise Olympics winner -- maybe a sprint goes weird, a breakaway go hell-for-leather and make it, who knows

Movistar get on the podium at Catalunya and top 5 Vuelta but signing Nairo again proves to be a mistake

stage winners at the Vuelta include Jay Vine, Egan Bernal, Guillaume Martin and Caleb Ewan (Jonas wins overall)

hello, anon !! and i'm so sorry it took us so long to answer this question but it was so hard for us to narrow it down to only a handful of fcs and ultimately, we... failed. 😔 jokes aside, it really was a struggle to cut down our list to a "relatively" "reasonable" number because there are so many fcs that we could see working for our open skeletons and we really don't want to limit anyone's creativity. we hope this non-comprehensive list of fcs we would love to see in our game is of help when coming up with your character !

1838: the name “protein” (from the Greek proteios, “primary”) was suggested by Berzelius for the complex nitrogen-rich substance found in the cells of all animals and plants.

1819–1904: Most of the 20 common amino acids found in proteins were discovered.

1864: Hoppe-Seyler crystallized, and named the protein hemoglobin.

1894: Fischer proposed a lock-and-key analogy for enzyme-substrate interactions.

1897: Buchner and Buchner showed that cell-free extracts of yeast can ferment sucrose to form carbon dioxide and ethanol, thereby laying the foundations of enzymology.

1926: Sumner crystallized urease in pure form, demonstrating that proteins could possess the catalytic activity of enzymes; Svedberg developed the first analytical ultracentrifuge and used it to estimate the correct molecular weight of hemoglobin.

1933: Tiselius introduced electrophoresis for separating proteins in solution.

1934: Bernal and Crowfoot presented the first detailed X-ray diffraction patterns of a protein, obtained from crystals of the enzyme pepsin.

1942: Martin and Synge developed chromatography, a technique now widely used to separate proteins.

1951: Pauling and Corey proposed the structure of a helical conformation of a chain of amino acids—the α-helix—and the structure of the β-sheet, both of which were later found in many proteins.

1955: Sanger obtained the amino acid sequence of insulin, the first protein whose amino acid sequence was determined.

1956: Ingram produced the first protein fingerprints, showing that the difference between sickle-cell hemoglobin and normal hemoglobin is due to a change in single amino acid.

1960: Kendrew described the first detailed three-dimensional structure of a protein (sperm whale myoglobin) to a resolution of 0.2 nm, and perutz proposed a lower-resolution structure for hemoglobin.

1963: Monod, Jacob, and Changeux recognized that many enzymes are regulated through allosteric changes in their conformation.
