HEAR ME OUT
King of the world, pt.1
"So, you're brand new
You just set sail
Your journey's still a fairytale"
"That's just youth"
King of the world, pt.2
"So, he smiled back
And walked your way
Now all your heartbreaks washed away
The sea is jealous of the blue
Inside the eyes you look into"
"That's just love"
King of the world, pt.3
"Will they know you were the king of the world?
That’s just life on the Titanic
When the days all run together
There’s a time stamp on forever"
"That’s just life"
I just thought of this and I didn't know how well it would work but ahhhhhh.

Yuri on Ice was such a life changing anime, especially to have experienced in real time waiting for those episodes to drop every week. It was an open acknowledgment and love letter to queerness, to valuing and creating art, to loving yourself and loving those around you and it’s no surprise that it had such a large impact on those who watched it. Not to mention how stunning it was to be presented with an open letter to queer love during a time where same sex marriage and gender equality was still a very hot and controversial topic. It’s, in its own way, nestled itself into history.
It may not be in the way we all expected or hoped, but see you next level.

Amidst all the stuff going on with Mappa studios, I want to shout out all the animators on staff. They work far too hard, often long and impossible hours, with very little appreciation. Not just for Jujutsu Kaisen, all of Mappa's productions -Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, Chainsaw Man, Hell's Paradise, etc. I hope that the animation staff gets the appreciation they deserve, all roughly 360 people on staff- along with more reasonable treatment. I'm completely fine with waiting a bit longer for episodes if the staff making them are treated like actual human beings.

I'm so freaking upset about the cancellation of the Yuri on Ice movie. I can't believe that Mappa won't produce the movie. YoI literally made that freaking studio famous back in 2016. That anime was MASSIVE! Literally broke the internet, aka every side that provided the episodes, legal or illegal sides.
People like me started to actually watch and care for figure skating! Professional figure skaters PERFORMED to the ost!!!
And remember how the entire team for the ost went of tour in like 2017??? Because I remember that! I freaking watched the live stream on YouTube!!!!
It's just freaking ridiculous, seriously. I don't understand why Mappa is stopping the production of such a big franchise.
I really hope that Mappa ends up selling the ip for YoI so that a different studio can give us a movie or a new season.

– I didn't used to care about anything, but it's different now. I think I've committed irredeemable sins. But if it meant I could return to my father, I'd do it all over again.
– I see. Thanks for telling me that. But even if you do return to him, I think you'll find nothing but rubble and a corpse.
– ...Yeah.
