Ursa Wren probably has about fifty unread holo messages from Bo-Katan and most of them are from the last day or so going “we’re reuniting Mandalore, you coming or what?”

Jaster: *while leading a small child out of a forest to the nearest space port to bring him back to Mandalore* …Ob’ika, this is the fifth tooka to try and climb into your robes this morning. Are you… do you normally take care of them? Like when I’m sleeping?
12 year old Obi-Wan, just met Jaster three days ago when their ships crashed on the same planet, was adopted within five minutes of meeting him: …no? They just. I mean. Animals just sorta… do that, ya?
Jaster: Oh. Do they always do that with Jetii?
Obi-Wan: …oh I mean… I guess not. They always do that with me. Master Yoda said I’m aligned with the cosmic force, which is why I give Master Windu an eye twitch when he sees me, but animals are sorta chill. They don’t care about the bad, they just think the cosmic force tastes good.
Jaster: !!!!!!!?????! What the kark does the cosmic force taste like??? What the kark IS the cosmic force????
Obi-Wan: Oh, um, it sorta tastes like sparkles, I think? Lil bit spicy, you know? It’s when your force attracts both unifying and living force to it.
Jaster: Okay, that last one makes a bit more sense and you could have lead with that. The living likes you because the living force likes you. And you taste like sparkles. Okay. Sure. You know what, you have a big brother, Jango, and he made about as much sense as you do now when he was your age. Arla was already in the ‘makes sense sometimes’ category when I got her. Idk why I questioned that.
Obi-Wan: *giving his most recent tooka cling-on a kiss* This one is really stupid, can we keep him? The stupid ones don’t last long in the wild.
Jaster: You know what? Sure.

Known C A N O N facts about the Mandalorians: A) Overall, they do not view/value "gender" in the same way other cultures in SW (or those in our own world) do.
B) Color symbolism, paint design and the amount of beskar you have on your armor is viewed as a main/sole identifier of a Mandalorian.
C) Mando'a, the language of the Mandalorians, does not have gender signifiers. Mando'a is a gender neutral language.
D) Your gender, your sexuality, your race, your previous life, etc does NOT matter after you have sworn the Mandalorian Creed. You are a Mandalorian and will always be Mandalorian, unless you violate your Creed. -Cin vhetin: a fresh start/clean slate. Literally means "white field." -Gar taldin ni jaonyc; gar sa buir, ori'wadaas'la: "Nobody cares who your father/parent was, only the father/parent you will be." -Aliit ori'shya tal'din: "Family is more than blood."
In conclusion, the only thing Mandalorians really care about is how skilled of a warrior you are and how loyal you keep yourself to your creed. They do not give a fuck what your gender identity is or who you choose to fuck.
To put it more simply: Can you hit real good? Do you have honor? Okay then.
Verd ori'shya beskar'gam: "A warrior is more than their armor"
Tldr; I'm getting really tired of people trying to act like the Mandalorians as a whole would have a problem with a trans/nonbinary person being a fellow Mando. The answer is no. No, they would not.
(Update: Meant to also say the same fucking goes for your sexuality, but I feel like I'm just beating a dead horse at this moment. You guys get the fucking point)

"i feel like for a bit there i had an au percolating about obi wan time traveling and becoming korkie's double in order to save satine" 👀 oh? (if you want to talk about it)
See okay I really haven't thought this one out a whole lot but there's so many fun things that could happen with it!
-Obi-Wan is 18. One day he wakes up and the Republic is at war, and the Jedi are leading it. He goes to the Jedi for help, because he has no idea what's going on, and they don't believe he is who he says he is. They already have an Obi-Wan Kenobi, you see, and this has to be some sort of Sith trick.
-Obi-Wan gets frustrated and seeks help from another friend--Satine. She doesn't know how to send him back to his own time, how to make the Jedi believe him (but she believes him, she always has), or how to stop this war that they both agree the Jedi shouldn't be leading, but she does know how to offer a lost child shelter. And Korkie needs help learning how to deal with the intricacies of the Senate, and Satine's good friend is Padmé, and Padmé uses doubles as bodyguards, and hey, do you mind keeping an eye out...
-Obi-Wan does keep an eye out. And then when some assholish Zabrak comes trying to usurp Satine, he's quite unprepared for Korkies unassuming bodyguard to fight him off long enough for General Kenobi to rescue everyone.
-Obi-Wan has no idea how close Satine came to dying that day.
Alternatively:
-Ben Kenobi is an old man, until very suddenly, he isn't.
-After dying on the Death Star, he wakes up on Mandalore. He looks very young, though he's not entirely sure how young. His best guess is somewhere between 16 and 23. He has a padawan braid. He cuts it off.
-It's the middle of the Clone Wars. He thinks it's...close...to the time Satine died. He's not entirely certain. The war has all sort of blurred together in his memories, into a mess of pain and loss and betrayal and Anakin--
-Anyway. Satine dies soon, and Ahsoka leaves the Order. Ben can stop that. He remembers this part. He can make it happen differently.
-He shows up on Satine's doorstep, looking like a lost little Jedi, with sweet manners and a very shell-shocked demeanor, and Satine knows beyond a doubt that this is Obi-Wan Kenobi's child. This is Obi-Wan's child, and he has run away from the war, and he has deliberately sought asylum from a neutral planet. And she says, mine now.
-He's not quite Korkie's age, but they do look very similar. If pressed, they could pass as siblings. Even twins, if no one looked too carefully.
-Korkie is 110% on board to hide a Jedi. It is possible that Korkie has hidden several other Jedi refugees before. Ben's not entirely certain; Ben also will not ask. If there are Jedi taking refuge on Mandalore, that only makes it more likely that they will survive the inevitable betrayal by the clone troopers.
-Death Watch is getting bolder, and Satine fears for Korkie's safety. She remembers another young Jedi protector, protecting another New Mandalorian noble. She should not ask this shell-shocked child to protect her nephew. She does anyway.
-Korkie teaches Ben everything he does not know about being a Mandalorian. Ben teaches Korkie everything he does not know about politics and lying by telling the truth. He also teaches Korkie to use a lightsaber. Just in case.
-And when Maul tries to take over, he finds himself taken by surprise by two unassuming young men who take great offense to an attempt against their aunt's life.
-And when Ahsoka leaves the Order, Satine sees another lost child of Obi-Wan's, and she again says mine now.
-Maul isn't dead. He's pissed off and in a dungeon somewhere but he isn't dead. He's spinning stories to Ahsoka about how Anakin is the next Sith apprentice, about how the mysterious Sith Master only took Dooku until Anakin could fully come into his power, about how the Sith Master had betrayed Maul, and of course Ahsoka knows it's all banthashit--
-Except Ben the bodyguard agrees with him, and isn't that interesting--
-Do you think the Jedi would let me come back to them if I kill the head of state even if he's secretly a sith lord--
Anyway, regardless of whether Ben travels forwards or backwards, this story would include:
-remarks about how Ben and Korkie look remarkably similar (and no clear conclusion on whether there's a reason for that, because I prefer my Korkies of dubious parentage and Force sensitivity)
-Korkie gets to use a lightsaber
-General Kenobi shows up and finds an identical Force presence and has a "Why are you me? I'm me?" kind of moment.
-Satine introduces Ben to Padmé who introduces him to Sabé who gives him a lot of tips about being a double once she realizes what's going on. They're great friends, even though Ben seems...odd, at times.
-Ben has no idea about the chips.
:)
But yeah I don't really have a lot for this story these are just the half-baked percolations. It's fun to think about when I have no idea what I'm doing with paw and galidraan.

Hello everyone. Today I will tell you why mando'a is simular to hungarian. Let's start
Pre Vizsla. HIS NAME IS LITERALLY VIZSLA!! A vizsla is a hungarian dog breed.
The word "kad" in mando'a means saber. In hungarian it's "kard"
The word "ures" in mando'a meaning empty. In hungarian "üres" means the same thing.
Diminutive suffix used like -ika. Hungarian also uses the same form of diminutive suffix. (-ka, -ke, -ika, -ike)
And last but not least: "The Mandalorian language has more terms of insult-" This one speaks for itself
Thank you for your attention.

I'd like to remind everyone why Din has never been to Mandalore.
It's not because it was destroyed. That happened decades after the Mandalorians picked him up.
It is because the Children of the Watch, Death Watch, was hiding on Concordia.
His soft moment of "I've never been there either" is because he's been cloistered away and indoctrinated with lies that "it's cursed" and "they're not REAL Mandalorians" and "we survive because we hide".
There is no reason he couldn't have gone at least once, especially with how close it was. Especially during the Clone Wars before the Republic/Empire stepped in.
No reason except that his people were (and still are) Death Watch.
Ya know, the Children of the Watch, for a people who claim to care so much about their history and culture... Din knows surprisingly little of it all...
I. Wonder. Why.

I haven't watched the 3rd season of Mando and at this point from spoilers I've seen it feels like I can just skip it honestly like?????? What was accomplished if he just fucks off at the end? Why'd they give him the dark saber if that wasn't going to go anywhere?? And as much as I love his weird green son (wtf din grogu?? 😭) WHY GIVE HIM AWAY TO MAKE HIM COME BACK IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SHOW THAT WASN'T EVEN ABOUT MANDO AND TAKE AWAY LIKE 3 EPS FROM ITS MAIN ACTUAL PLOT??????????
This is what I get for getting attached to star wars characters I thought hopefully it would stay isolated but no 🙃 Din is too cool for that of course not 🙃🙃

"Bo-Katan isn't mean" Okay because I'm so tired of hearing this:
[/mēn/] adjective: unkind, spiteful, or unfair. vicious or aggressive in behaviour. Not mean? Okay definitely not vicious or aggressive in behavior Like her first appearance where she's part of Death Watch, a terrorist group and slaps Ahsoka's ass without consent to demean her?
Tumblr media
Or when she shoves Ahsoka to the ground and *laughs* in a tent where Death Watch (including Bo-Katan) has stolen women from the local village on Carlac and put them into forced servitude?
Tumblr media
OR when she helps slaughter the village and burn down said village for asking Death Watch to leave them alone? (that's her on top of the roof)?
Tumblr media
Or after when she tried to kill Ahsoka and Lux for trying to help the villagers and leave?
Tumblr media
Or when she aided in a plot to cause intentional destruction and fear to manipulate the people of Mandalore into deposing her own sister and overturn Satine's very successful government that ended the clan wars (the Traditionalists then were given the lush moon of Concordia and their own political agency and government in which Pre Vizsla was the governor)? Then forcefully deposed Satine at gunpoint after she had abdicated because of the will of the people who no longer accepted her rule due to the manipulation of public perception by Death Watch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Bo-Katan was likely traumatized by the Mandalorian Civil War/Clan Wars at a young age and there's no solid canon evidence but It's widely believed by fans that Bo-Katan was groomed and/or radicalized by Pre into DW from a young age--even if you believe this, IT DOES NOT EXCUSE HER HORRIFIC ACTIONS. None of it justifies her wrongdoing. She still had agency.
Okay so what about unkind or unfair?
Surely that can't apply to her sarcastic comment to Ahsoka when approaching her after she had watched her struggle on Kessel and made no move to assister her, only watching her to use her to fight back against Maul and reclaim Mandalore. While she does respect and befriend Ahsoka by the end of the Siege, she still initially saw her as someone to be used for her agenda.
Tumblr media
Or when she uses Obi-Wan's guilt over his relationship with Satine to convince him to aid her forces in retaking Mandalore, which Republic intervention would disintegrate treaties over a hundred years old and start another war on top of the ongoing Clone Wars. Which to her was a legitimate, even desperate method to reclaim her planet from Maul who was only serving his own agenda, but it wasn't a very nice way to do it. In some ways Bo-Katan is justified in how she is mean, but it doesn't make her not mean.
Tumblr media
Then there's her anger towards Sabine after she discovering what the Duchess does and that Sabine created it (after hearing how guilt ridden she is and how she already destroyed it.) Was her anger valid, oh yeah. Was it kind and and fair? No.
Tumblr media
What about in The Mandalorian you ask? She's not a literal terrorist anymore in the Mandalorian. She's surely not still spiteful or unkind. Definitely not when she insulted Din's religious beliefs and way of life and called the COTW a cult.
Tumblr media
Or when she took credit for killing that one guy's brother without any remorse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or when she changed the terms of her agreement with Din and forced him into helping her by withholding the agreed upon information after Din upheld his side of the deal. Which was her plan all along. And then on top of that, mocks him by using his own mantra.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then there's the disdainful opinion she has of Din and her own superiority.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Only agreeing to help Din save his kid when he has something to offer her to serve her own agenda. Which again, valid but not something she does out of the kindness of her heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh and then she's so direct and straightforward to Boba, not mean at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then in season 3 when Din shows up to help her reclaim Mandalore the first thing she does is take out her anger on him and once again insult his religion/COTW and invalidate his belief that the Mines will restore his place in his religion. All unnecessary.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TO BE EXTREMELY CLEAR: I'm not discrediting Bo-Katan's personal progress into a better person or when she does do good--a hero even by the end of Mando season 3--that's the whole point of a redemption arc, you have to be redeemed from something. And at her core is a commitment to Mandalore, but you can't ignore the cruelty and ego and dare I say it meanness that has gone with it, that's the beauty of her complexity is that she can be a character that grows and evolves and becomes honorable and also still be bitchy. Bo-Katan doesn't have to be morally squeaky clean or a victim to enjoy her character and her sometimes ruthless determination for Mandalore or appreciate her compassionate aspects and letting go of her ego. She's not an easily consumable or morally black and white character. This is in fact, what I love about her.
Thank you @armoralor for assistance with the screenshots from The Mandalorian!

My Biggest Opinion on the Ahsoka show (other than the obvious) is that it would have been better as a full season. I'm frankly tired of this six-to-eight episodes nonsense that modern TV does; I remember the delightful old days where you got like fifteen-to-twenty-odd episodes per season of a show and that's so much better. It gives you room to explore the backstory of all the players involved so their motivations make more sense. It gives you room to mess with a longer narrative so the characters get proper growth where you can look at a scene from the beginning and a (perchance mirroring?) scene from the end and say wow, this was really bloody well executed, there's such a difference and it makes sense as to why. We could've had episodes about the Purge of Mandalore and what that did to Sabine. Episodes about how she and Ahsoka started training and how they fell out. Episodes about what Ahsoka's been doing between then and now. Episodes about what Ezra and Thrawn were up to, like how Thrawn came into an alliance with the witches and how Ezra's been evading him over the years. Episodes about Baylan and Shin so we could understand what either of them really wants or feels because I'm still not sure I do. Maybe something about Hera and Sabine's relationship because they feel kind of weird to me. Don't get me wrong, I love the show we got, I think it's very good and it does most of my favorite characters justice, but I also think it probably could have been even better if it had been a longer show and had room to really explore its subject matter in greater detail, from multiple different angles.
