I Ching Li Gua for 2024 and Period 9
I Ching “Li Gua” for 2024 and Period 9 - forecast with the hexagrams
The Ancient Book of Prophecy - Tui Bei Tu
The Tui Back Tu (Back-Pushing Drawings) is an ancient Chinese prophecy from the Tang Dynasty. It shows the I Ching hexagrams with Heavenly stems/Earthly branches, illustrations, and poems. The drawings and poems are believed to predict major historical events, such as changes in dynasties or wars.
2024 is the year of Jia Chen (Heavenly stem/Earthly branch), so the corresponding hexagram is the Li Gua. Many people select different I Ching hexagrams by different methods. I use the Li Gua because Jia Chen is logically related to 2024, and Li or Fire is related to Period 9.
The Ba Gua and I Ching
The Bagua or the 8 Trigrams are each made of 3 lines. The Yang line is solid, and the Yin line is the broken line. The 8 combinations are related to natural elements, family members, directions, and many other things around us.
Li Gua is related to Fire, South, and the middle daughter or middle-aged woman.
The double Li Gua creates the I Ching hexagram, also called “Li”.
The timeline of the I Ching hexagram
There are 6 lines or yaos in each I Ching hexagram (Gua or Kua). It shows the progression of the event from the bottom up.
The first Yao (line) is the beginning at the bottom, and the top Yao (6th line) is the end.
Since we are talking about one year (2024), each Yao (line) can represent 2 months approximately.
For Period 9, we divide the 20 years into 6, so each line represents around 3-4 years.
This is an easy way to look at the timeline and progression to predict the future.
The poems from Tui Bei Tu for the “Li” Gua
The drawing of the Li Gua shows a person casually playing with one foot on top of a ball (or the Sun).
The poem states the disorder and dimming of the world. All positions are wrong, including Yin/Yang and Heaven/Earth, but the grass and trees (ordinary people) continue to grow and prosper.
The commentary poem talks about wearing a hat to protect from blood or violence. The leader is playing with fire and not having the best interest of his people for an extended time.
The 6 lines (Yaos) of the Li Gua
The description of the Li Gua in I Ching talks about keeping female cows. If we have the characteristics of female cows, such as being gentle, softer, accepting, and polite, things will go well, and there will be good fortune. Since the Li Gua represents strong Fire energy, we can balance it with softer and calming energy. This way, many conflicts can be prevented.
This hexagram is also lucky for people with good virtue and following the right path. Li Fire is shiny and bright like the sun. Your selfless motivation and big heart will be rewarded.
We can look at the six lines individually, starting from the bottom line (First Yao). Each Yao has a description in the I Ching book. We can also refer to each Yao’s corresponding timeline for more details.
The First Yao (line) - the beginning of the Li Gua
This is generally lucky. Even though the steps are a little confusing, we can overcome them with the right attitude.
The Second Yao of the Li Gua
This is the best line of this hexagram. The sun is in the middle of the sky. It is an auspicious time.
The Third Yao of the Li Gua
The third line shows the problem starting to appear when people can not accept and follow nature. Focusing on complaints and the negatives will cause problems later.
The Fourth Yao of the Li Gua
This is one of the worst lines in the book of I-Ching. Suddenly, there is a burning fire, death, and abandonment. This is a dangerous time.
The Fifth Yao of the Li Gua
In the fifth line, people are crying and sighing in sadness. It starts to become lucky when people face reality and find different ways to cope.
The Sixth Yao of the Li Gua- the ending
In the sixth and last line, the I-Ching talks about a leader taking military action and winning the war. So, the order is restored, and there are no more issues.
Lessons from the I-Ching Li Gua hexagram

@esper-aroon has enabled me, so here let me scream at y'all about The Imperial Uncle.
Tumblr media
Okay, so I recently read The Imperial Uncle (Huang Shu) by Da Feng Gua Guo from Peach Flower House and I really loved it??? It's first person pov, mlm, about the Emperor's uncle Jing Chengjun, who is mistrusted by everyone simply because of who his parents were and his position, and so he's basically given up on trying to convince people that he's actually a nice, decent person without ulterior motives. He's super trapped by his position, and there's so much he can't say and do, and he's also a hopeless romantic, like, from his own mouth all he really wants is to sleep beside and wake up next to someone who actually gives a shit about him, and even that is basically out of reach in his life. Like, the book starts with his wife (who he has never once had sex with) storming into a meeting he's having and announcing he's a cuckold and she's pregnant.
But also, this poor bastard really thinks he knows what's going on and his very smart. Very unreliable narrator. He's actually kinda a hilarious, impulsive himbo. But the TL:DR is that his loneliness and isolation and the extent to which he's politically trapped routinely lead him to make absolutely terrible decisions.
E. Danglar's translation is absolutely gorgeous, too, and... idk, if you love political plots, melodramatic idiot main characters, a dose of pining, and a slow burn that eventually pays off, come take a look??? (some people think it's a love triangle??? idk, I never really got that vibe, I never felt it was really in doubt which of the two potential dudes he'd end up with, but maybe I only feel that way because I got it right, lmao).
Anyway, I can't stop thinking about how these two idiots end up finally finding each other and getting together, and I have an entire AU in my head (a modern corporate one) and part of another (canon divergent from like a decade before the book starts), and I just want people to love this book as much as I did and scream with me about it.

honey's guide to spring⋆.
Tumblr media
i've been preparing this post for a while bcuz i LOVE spring and for this spring i just wanna embody feminine, fairy, dream-like beauty in my day-to-day this spring, and just enjoy it fully.
THE MOOD FOR SPRING : planting new seeds, fresh fruit, and bouquets of flowers. tea parties and floral prints and perfumes. green grapes, hibiscus tea and waking up early to see the sunrise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PREPARATION FOR SPRING : stock up on your favorite fruits and teas. if u want fruits that are in season, the fruits in season during spring include strawberries, cherries, blueberries, kiwis, bananas and nectarines. my favorite spring time tea is hibiscus and i love a good matcha during all seasons but especially spring, and lastly a good citrus tea is always something that i enjoy.
if ur someone who experiences rly bad allergies during the spring make sure that u go to ur doctors for a check up, and make sure that u have everything that you'll need to combat allergies.
THE PLAYLIST : a good playlist is always essential so my spring playlist consists of : eternal sunshine - jhene aiko. はるなつあきふゆ - ichiko aoba. afterglow - luna li. pisces - yerin baek. fairy of shampoo - TXT. scenery - red velvet. hydrangea love - TXT. cool with you - newjeans. salad days - iiso. pov - ariana grande. lyricist - heize.
REFRESH : time for spring cleaning both mentally and physically. analyze what habits are nourishing u and which habits are drying you out. analyze ur space and do a deep cleaning, that way u can feel lighter both mentally and physically.
wash ur sheets, maybe even buy fresh sheets (floral printed sheets for spring ofc)
go thru ur closet and put the winter and autumn clothes towards the back and bring the spring clothes where they're more accessible and visible
Tumblr media Tumblr media
deep clean ur room and clean ur house -> get onto clean-tok for some cleaning motivation cuz watching videos of people cleaning and organizing always motivates me to do so too
create new pinterest boards and delete ones that u dont use, or if u want to, create a completely new pinterest account. i've grown attached to my pinterest account so i won't delete it, but i've made lots of other accounts on separate devices
oftentimes we forget to clean what we use the most, and that buildup can cause our tools to be counterproductive, and just carry a lot of unnecessary germs so here are some things not to forget to clean and organize ;
behind ur ears
ur earbuds or headphones
ur skincare tools and devices (gua shas, face rollers)
ur phone screen
ur folders, binders, and folders
CULTIVATING CREATIVITY :
create something - do some painting, start a sketchbook, start dabbling in some poetry, maybe write a short story, cultivate an elite playlist etc etc
connecting with nature - go and get some fresh air, wake up earlier than usual to watch and enjoy the sunrise. drink different teas that you've never tried before, go to a local crystal shop if ur into that, make urself an elaborate platter of ur favorite fruits. go for a walk in the park, pick flowers and speaking of flowers, go and buy urself a pretty bouquet.
create a spring-time mood board
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TENDING THE GARDEN OF THE MIND :
ofc i MUST talk about the mind in any of my posts bcuz its just so incredible. but what you think matters!! what u think manifests! the thoughts that u continue to water and entertain are what you will experience. therefore when u change ur thoughts and water the seeds of the new thought, you'll get a new flower.
its like gardening. your thought is the seed, and ur mind is the soil. when u entertain ur thoughts ur watering the seed, and you'll get a new flower, the flower is the new experience. so this spring, plant new thoughts and entertain those thoughts ✨
FUN SPRING-LIKE THINGS :
picking flowers -> buying yourself a bouquet
have a tea party by yourself or with friends (reference my tea party post if u need some inspo)
make a bracelet or anklet out of flowers
take a bath and infuse the bath with things like rose petals, rose scented bath milks etc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
crystal shopping (last year i added amethyst to my crystal collection, this year i'd love to add selenite into my collection)
watch a 90's anime (i've watched sailor moon about a MILLION times and im gonna rewatch it again this year bcuz its just the girliest, best anime i've watched and is one of my favorites)
so i hope that this post sparked some ideas on ways that u can enjoy your spring girlies ✨

best cdramas I’ve watched since the last one of these posts in 2023 (and some I’m still looking forward to seeing)
A League of Nobleman (watch on WeTV VIP | watch on AppleTV | watch on Viki | watch on bilibili | watch on YouTube) Adapted from the novel "The Mystery of Zhang Guo" (张公案) by Da Feng Gua Guo (大风刮过) starring Jing BoRan, Song WeiLong, Hong Yao, Guo Cheng and Wang Duo. Definitely gay, but in like a very focused, we-have-a-mystery-to-solve way. Loved the acting and the plot; cannot believe people actually gave Song Weilong shit for his acting in this drama. He was aMAzing. The downside is that the editing grew progressively sloppier as the drama progressed, and although majority of the visuals were very satisfying, I never realized how crappy the quality of the light was until I tried gifing some of the scenes. The upside is Jing BoRan holding kittens. Enough Said. 7/10
The Blood of Youth (watch on Viki | watch on YouTube) Adapted from the novel "Shao Nian Ge Xing" (少年歌行) by Zhou Mu Nan (周木楠) starring Li HongYi, Liu XueYi and Ao RuiPeng. Love this goddamn drama. I adopted the entire cast within the first 3 episodes and then I spent the next 37 terrified that half of them would get killed off. There’s def some major character death in this drama my chickens, so keep that in mind (and not a canonical death either, from what I understand). Anyway, this is my fave genre by far so I’m never really picky, but this drama is exhilarating and gorgeous from beginning to end. Highly recommend. 9/10
New Life Begins (watch on iQIYI | watch on Viki | watch on YouTube) Adapted from the web novel "Qing Chuan Ri Chang" (清穿日常) by Duo Mu Mu Duo (多木木多) starring Bai JingTing and Tian XiWei. Just sweet and fluffy. The plot is easy and devoid of complexities, but very satisfying nonetheless. The acting is definitely on another level. The entire cast has bonkers chemistry, and it’s about time someone made good use of Bai Jingting’s comedy potential. One of the top 5 easy viewing dramas on my rewatch list.  8/10
The Legendary Life of Queen Lau (watch on Viki | watch on YouTube) Adapted from the web novel "Huang Hou Liu Hei Pang" (皇后刘黑胖) by Ge Yang (戈鞅) starring Li JiaQi and Li HongYi. Loved this. Although it doesn’t shy away from difficult subjects, this is basically a comedy from beginning to end. Not gonna lie, I mainly gave this a go for Li Hongyi, but it’s hard to even notice him when Li Jiaqi is in the room. There’s no shame in being overshadowed by superior talent :) 7/10
(yeah, after all this, I rewatched Nirvana In Fire again)
Under the Microscope (watch on Apple TV | watch on Bilibili | watch on iQIYI VIP | watch on Viki) Adapted from the novel "Xian Wei Jing Xia De Da Ming" (显微镜下的大明) by Ma Bo Yong (马伯庸) starring Zhang RuoYun and Wang Yang. Continuously impressed by Zhang RuoYun’s skills. This drama is 90% grit and tension. Drool-worthy visuals. Interesting plot. Sound mixing that gives me a Mo Ran style boner. Make your friends watch it and they will hate you. 9/10
Till The End of The Moon (watch on YouTube | watch on Apple TV | watch on Viki) Adapted from the web novel "Hei Yue Guang Na Wen BE Ju Ben" (黑月光拿稳BE剧本) by Teng Luo Wei Zhi (藤萝为枝). Starring Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu. This was so breathtakingly gorgeous. The chemistry between the actors, the visuals, the special effects, the costumes, everything is stunning in this drama. The romance is by no means original, but still manages to draw you in. Absolutely worth watching at least once. 8/10
Still waiting on:
Immortality - based on danmei novel The Husky and His White Cat Shizun by 肉包不吃肉 starring Chen Feiyu and Luo Yunxi (you can think I’m a clown but you’d be wrong bc I’m a wholeass circus)
Winner Is King - based on the danmei novel Sha Po Lang by Priest starring Tan Jianci and Chen Zheyuan
Step By Step Lotus - based on historical novel Return to Ming Dynasty as Prince by 月关 starring Zhang Binbin and Luo Yunxi
Eternal Faith - based on danmei novel Heaven Official’s Blessing by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu starring Zhai Xiaowen and Zhang Linghe
Joy Of Life Season 2 - based on wuxia novel of the same name by 猫腻 starring Zhang Ruoyun and Li Qin
Story of Kunning Palace - based on the novel 坤宁 by 时镜 starring Bai Lu and Zhang LingHe
Flying Phoenix - based on danmei novel of the same name by 風弄 starring Dai Jingyao and Shu Yaxin

The Thirteen-Hongs in Canton - historical drama starring Zhu Yawen and Yu Haoming

Best Underrated Anime Group H Round 1: #H3 vs #H6
#H3: Two guys time-travel through photos. Depression ensues.
Best friends, roommates, and business partners Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang run a photo studio, developing pictures and the like. But that’s not all they do. The Shiguang Photo Studio has a secret extra service—they can deliver messages you never got to send and find information you never got to learn, so long as you bring a photograph, or maybe several.
Their method? A clap of the hands, and Cheng Xiaoshi dives into the past and into the body of the photographer. Guided by Lu Guang, he has twelve hours to achieve his goal, whether that is finding a secret, saying goodbye, or winning a fight.
Assisted by their friend and landlady Qiao Ling, the duo navigates a gallery of corporate lies, interpersonal drama, old regrets, and crime. The recently released second season continues threads that begin in the first episode of season one, showcasing the same level of brilliant writing and even higher stakes for our beloved characters.
Tumblr media
#H6: Cozy slice of life about a high school girl with a camera
In her last year of middle school, Fuu Sawatari had trouble dealing with her emotions following the sudden death of her father. Through the help of her brother and childhood friend, she rediscovered her love for photography, an activity she and her father often did together. In addition, she decided to attend high school in Takehara, her father's hometown and a place they often visited when she was younger.
It has been one month now since Fuu moved to Takehara and became close with her current group of friends: carefree Kaoru Hanawa, excitable Norie Okazaki, and quiet Maon Sakurada. Together with them and several acquaintances around town and abroad, Fuu continues her mission of capturing the joys of everyday life using her father's camera, while also helping her friends discover their own passions.
Titles, propagandas, trailers, and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#H3: Link Click (Shiguang Dailiren)
Propaganda:
(Admin: Five people submitted different propagandas for this. Instead of posting each of them as they are and making this post even longer, I merged them altogether for coherence and brevity.)
Link Click is a show that is criminally underrated outside of China that it’s become a running meme in the fandom (i.e. Link Click fans to everyone they know: WATCH LINK CLICK!!!). Some people are just so resistant to watching anything Chinese that even others in the Link Click subreddit prefer its Japanese dub—which is sad because they don’t get to hear certain nuances in the original audio. It’s also just really frustrating how xenophobic people can get.
Anyways, the beauty of Link Click lies in its simplicity. For a time-travel show, you’d expect our characters to tackle on tasks that involve the fate of the world or something, but no. In Link Click, it’s all about the ordinary person. All the people Cheng Xiaoshi dived into have been your everyday person—an office woman who gets harassed at work, a restaurant owner who’s grown estranged from her best friend, a man who misses his first love and his old friends, a man who wants to gain the approval of his girlfriend’s family, etc. Even when the stakes go high in season 2, the core of the conflicts still lie in the personal problems that the characters face—which may seem small in the grand scheme of things, but they are not any less important.
And I think that’s beautiful. It’s hard to relate to grand plots of saving the world or facing an apocalypse and whatnot, but it’s easy to relate to the day-to-day struggles that humans face.
But it’s also depressing, in a way. Link Click is very adamant that the past remain unchanged. Cheng Xiaoshi has to go there, do his mission, and then leave the past as it is—which is difficult when he gets to feel the emotions of the person he’s possessing. Many times he wants to change things for the better, but Lu Guang always pulls him back.
Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang’s relationship is also really nice. Cheng Xiaoshi is the empathic and reckless type, while Lu Guang is the rational and cold (but inwardly a dork) type. They balance each other out, and when they have conflicts, they face it maturely. They also care for each other so so much that the moment the other is in danger, all their personal philosophies get thrown out the window just to ensure the other person’s safety.
The male characters also cry without getting emasculated. They have mental breakdowns that are done so well and feel like a real reaction instead of just the solitary tear down one’s cheek.
Link Click… is not a gentle show. It will strongly grab your heartstrings and make you cry several times. It doesn’t pull its punches, and it’s always happy to hit you with the “past or future, just let them be” beam. It is cruel, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Lastly, Link Click is really about friends being there for each other in hard times, and knowing that while it’s impossible to take all those painful memories back, it is possible to take them with you in the future and turn them into something beautiful.
On Soundtrack: The soundtrack of this show is just amazing. The s1 opening song may seem all fun and games with the finger-tutting, but after s2, you’ll realize how meaningful the lyrics are. The s1 ending is also iconic for us fans. It starts playing before the episode ends, and the ominous start of the song always sends chills down our spines because it signals that something has gone wrong.
The s2 soundtrack gets even better. The s2 opening’s second chorus is basically just the first chorus played in reverse. The director specifically requested for a song that would sound good even when played in reverse, and it’s amazing how the band managed to pull off something so difficult. The s2 ending, like the s1 ed, continues the Link Click style of playing before the episode actually ends, making the last few moments of the episode even more emotional.
Trigger Warnings:
S1: Flashing lights in the opening, attempted and implied sexual harassment, slight panic attack, death, kidnapping, drugging, suicide, blood. Complete list of TW’s for s1 can be found here (it may be spoilery)
S2: Fast-changing images in the opening, domestic abuse, child abuse, emotional abuse, violence, blood, murder.
Tumblr media
#H6: Tamayura: Hitotose
youtube
Propaganda:
No stakes, only warmth. Tamayura: Hitotose is the single coziest anime I have ever watched. It is like Moomins or Studio Ghibli (without all the excitement), in that after watching it you feel like the greatest magic the world has ever known is a home-made bowl of soup, a trip to the mountains, a photograph of a memory. Which is all true. Animes like this teach you to live right, and that's why we need them. Also to teach us to be "more aggressivu!" If you ever have a really rough day/week/month/year/decade, let your soul be soothed and watch Tamayura: Hitotose.
Trigger Warnings: Unknown.

Falling into You- Enji X F! Reader Part 1
A/N: Enji and Rei are not together in this and Toya is still around. Also, please don't come at me about Hawks, I love him so much.
Warnings: Fluff
It wasn’t like you were nervous for such a reason. Normally, you were cool, calm, poised, and could face anything. This wasn’t even your first time going out with them in public. With his high-profile career, and yours just sort of launching, it wasn’t like you both were exactly telling the world you two were a couple. It was a bit controversial though, with him being divorced, rather publicly too. Being seen together wasn’t a big deal; it could easily be written off as two heroes collaborating together, or one mentoring another, and to you, it was at first, anyway. You stood as close to the door as you possibly could to get a view of your date before he walked into the room. You knew that everyone’s eyes would be on him, and he’d probably be busy most of the night chatting away with people who only cared about his status.
You stood there feeling like time was passing slowly, wringing your hands nervously, awaiting his arrival. You knew the moment he walked in. A hush had fallen immediately followed by the uproar of footsteps walking toward him. He had a pout on his face as he scanned the crowd looking for someone. You knew it wasn’t you. While you knew he had feelings for you, the two of you never truly spoke of them. He never voluntarily gave up that information, and the only time he actually spoke of it, it was an inebriated phone call, that he didn’t remember. You took in all of his handsome frame. He was intimidating to look at and he naturally carried himself that way, but when his eyes met yours you noticed he visibly loosened up. He murmured hellos and thank yous to those he passed to make his way to you.
He was held up by the annoying Pro Hero Hawks, who talked his ear off for 10 minutes straight about work. He looked so annoyed about the whole exchange, you couldn’t help but laugh to yourself. No matter how many times he tried to walk away, Hawks were right there. Finally, he was able to free himself after he told him, “My son is here somewhere. You should go find him.” To which, Hawks happily and excitedly left. When he finally reached you, he grabbed you by the waist, pulled you close, and pressed his lips against your cheek. You both knew there would be a lot of cameras at the event, but that was a very bold move on his part.
“You look breathtaking in this dress.” He spoke softly in your ear as he pulled away. Your breath caught in your throat. His ocean eyes gave no hint of malice or ill intent. How could anyone resist? It was at that moment you realized, that you actually loved him. You knew all the terrible things he did in the past, and he never made excuses for them. He always told you they were mistakes he had to learn from. During the divorce, he never spoke ill of his ex-wife, and he seemed to understand why she wanted to divorce. She was the one who made it so public, after all, but even after all of the terrible truths, horrendous lies, and questionable judgment calls, you still felt so much for this man.
His attention was on another hero for the moment, and with your head and heart reeling in this sudden realization. You felt nauseous and short of breath. You felt the world spinning and then it faded to black. When you came to, you saw the saddest cerulean eyes with furrowed eyebrows. Someone came rushing over with water, and as you tried to focus on everything you for a moment saw fear in those eyes.
“Hey, are you okay?” He asked in a gruff but gentle voice, as he moved the hair out of your face. You gave him a small smile and tried to sit up. He adjusted himself to help you better. You realized how warm he was, and knowing it was probably his quirk, it didn’t stop you from wanting to be wrapped in his massive arms and snuggle your face in his chest. So you reached out to him and did just that. He wrapped his arms tight around you as if he was trying to guard you against the crowd that surrounded you. He picked you up with ease as he stood up.
“I am going to take her to get checked out and then bring her home. Enjoy the event.” He said matter-of-factly. As he walked outside and away, you noticed he was going in the opposite direction of the hospital. You didn’t question it; after all, he was a hero; he had to have someone he trusted to look after you.
You arrived at one of the most expensive high-rise buildings that you knew of in the city. The wealthiest people lived in their glamorous penthouses here. When he was greeted by the security guard and went up the private elevator. You arrived at the top floor and he opened the door; you saw the city sprawled beneath through the large glass windows.
“You can rest on the couch. I will get you some blankets and a pillow to make you more comfortable” he told you as he gently placed you on top of the soft couch cushions. You winced as he took his arms off of you quickly replacing the heat with the cold air that filled his penthouse. You really didn’t want to leave his warmth, and when he started to walk away, you grabbed the sleeve of his suit jacket.
“I want to stay wrapped in your arms…it’s so warm.” You barely whispered. You saw his ears turn pink and a blush creep across his cheeks when he stopped suddenly. In one swift move, he took you once again in his arms and brought you straight to his room, where he let you undress and wear one of his shirts, which was very oversized on you. He changed in the bathroom, and let you have your privacy. As you got comfortable in his bed, he climbed next to you, snuggled you close, and you fell into a heavenly sleep. It was the most peaceful sleep you’d had in a while.

To be honest, the double wedding is going to be such a logistical nightmare to coordinate. It will take a minimum of an year and a half to two to fully plan and carry this out and I am not even counting in the wedding design planning, magical guests accommodating, multiple bridal dresses designing by Tomoyo, fixing up auspicious dates, the traditional jewellery design consultations at Hong Kong, the two betrothals - yuino and Gua Da Li - their associated logistics including the bride price, diaper money, the betrothal gifts, and tens of other stuff including the Li Clan and its dynamics. Not to mention, there is household registration in Japan and Hong Kong, changing of family names, creating new family seals, renovating/redecorating and moving into the summer house, figuring out new visa statuses, balancing out high school/entrance exams/college and employment, not to mention Syaoran would possibly stress himself out over the bride price (my headcanon is that he earned that entire amount himself and was possibly thinking of buying Sakura and himself a new apartment as a part of her bride price before Gramps handed Sakura that summer house as a yuino or an early wedding gift) and now he does not know what else to use the money for so that it could constitute a "proper" and "respectable" bride price and would probably be stressing himself out. On Sakura's end, she would probably be stressed out more regarding the entrance exams as well as being worried for Syaoran than anything but ultimately everything turns out to be alright. Hopefully. But it is going to be stressful. Sigh. The only planning that would probably be stress free and with minimum interference by everyone but the couple would be the honeymoon. Lmao.
OMG AUBRETIA this gave anxiety even to ME!!! 😂😂😂
But thank you for listing all of this because I had no idea of all these traditions (and customs) and I'm pretty sure CLAMP don't as well 😂 This sure looks like a whole shit-ton of stuff to do... and I'm positively, absolutely sure that Syaoran would go as far as possible to take care of it because, after all, the majority of it comes from his side... he would try to take the burden all on himself before Sakura gently scolds him again 😂
Imagine now that they're going for 15 years old, Yelan one day at the phone goes "Son, if you want to marry the mistress of the Cards, remember to let us know at least 2 years in advance" *click* 😂😂😂😂

Dimensions
Aku sempat frustrasi banget pas pernah ditegur mama: “udah mau doktor kok ya nonton konser”. Aku bingung. Hah apa hubungannya?
Pertama ye balasan-ku ke orang ini: “no one f-ing asked”, lu mau follow gw kek, unfollow kek, bebas, terserah anda, kalo katanya Iqbal “this is not an airport, you don’t have to announce your departure”. Kedua, ya itu tadi “lah emang kalau gw saintis terus jadi gw ga bisa ngetweet politik?? Yee akun akun gua.”
Intinya adalah, ku sangat frustrasi dengan pandangan orang-orang (terutama di Indonesia) that people can’t have more than one dimension. It’s as if a person can only have one axis run in them.
Ku suka banget BELAJAR BAHASA.
THAT WOULD BE VERY HARD?? I think I would say… “I am a learner”. WOW CLICHÉ BANGET FAK NON WKWKW. Tapi beneran I don’t think I would say “I am a geologist”/”earth scientist” karena jujur I don’t think I am se-“geos” itu. I love going to the field, but also I find it really hard thinking in the field. Mostly, I would just be amazed and mesmerized at the rocks/landscapes, appreciating the process through time, tapi kalau disuruh nulis paper tentang itu? Sorry gak dl.
I wouldn’t say “I am a teacher/lecturer” because do PEOPLE realize how hard it is to be a teacher??? The emotional roller-coaster you have to go through?? At least with rocks, they won’t talk back to you, but with human bruv? Pain. Apalagi kalau humannya super entitled dan ngerasa “loh kan gw udah ngebayar lo buat ngajarin gw? Ya ajarin gw sampe gw ngerti dong!”. Jadi balik lagi ke postingan-ku sebelum ini tentang belajar yang mana ku masih merasa responsibility of understanding something lies in the hands of the learner themselves, not on the teacher.
“I am an Indonesian”?? Jelas nggak.
“I am a muslim” juga berat banget. I don’t think I am an exemplary muslim, but I am trying(??).
“I am a KPOP fan” juga akan works in some settings, tapi beneran I don’t think I want to be remembered as that when I die later.
“I am a scientist” juga terlalu broad and with my laziness with writing, kayanya scientist is not the job I preferred to be called.
I can be anything I want. So do you, so does other people. Let people have as many dimensions as they want. Jadi semoga ke depannya kita nggak yang: “ih dia kok xx sih, padahal kan dia xx”. Just let them be, people. Selama gak merugikan kita, gak membahayakan siapapun, selama mereka happy. (KU BACA LAGI KALIMAT DI ATAS, ini betul-betul prinsip liberal dan personal freedom-nya US lol).
Dah gitu dulu. Mau pulang dan solat Magrib. Happy weekend all! Part 3-nya tentang Science Comm menyusul yah. Semoga sempat menulis weekend ini.

Il riuso del cibo
Tumblr media
– Lassù su quell’asse come mi diceste voi. – Benone! – Come! La minestra d’oggi? – Sicuro! Capirai! Qui ci son tutti i sapori... – Sfido io!

Harry admits he felt forced to leave the UK, not that he was forced to leave
WWW.THESUN.CO.UK
Harry admits in court he “felt forced” to leave the UK, not that he WAS forced to leave the UK. “At a hearing today, the duke’s barrister Shaheed Fatima KC said Harry did not accept that it was a “choice” for him to have stopped being a “full time working member of the royal family”.“
All the court can do is ask RAVEC to revisit its decision to deny Harry 24/7 security that is given to his brother, his father and their wives. If RAVEC says no, the court cannot force RAVEC to change their decision to satisfy the man-child trust fund brat.
Celta, I really hope Harry loses his taxpayer funded security lawsuit/s (as well the lawsuit against the ANL who reported that Harry did not offer to pay for MET security) and pay back the public for every cent he wasted on these ridiculous lawsuits. Harry needs to understand there are consequences in deciding to quit being a full time working royal.
*
Hi TeaWithBooks,
I hope Harry loses and has to pay back every taxpayer cent spent on these lawsuits as well. His entitlement, ego and lies are off the charts. His feelings are not facts, however much he thinks otherwise.
I am very pleased that RAVEC can not be forced to change their decision by the courts, and if they are forced to review the decision, I hope that a) they say No again and b) they take even more security away from Harry. I am over his petulant whining, his lies, and his massively inflated sense of self importance.
Harry admits in court he “felt forced” to leave the UK,

best cdramas I’ve watched since the last one of these posts in 2022 (and some I’m still looking forward to seeing)
Heroes (watch on WeTV VIP | watch on bilibili) Adapted from the novel "Shuo Ying Xiong Shei Shi Ying Xiong" (说英雄谁是英雄) by Wen Rui An (温瑞安) starring Zeng ShunXi, Yang ChaoYue, Liu YuNing, Baron Chen and Meng ZiYi. I would’ve watched this thing for the cast only. Everyone is queer vibes. Not a flashy drama, but will emotionally shred you. The character development is totally worth it. Throughly entertaining, even when it punched you in the gut. 8/10
The Wind Blows From LongXi (watch on iQIYI VIP | watch on Viki) Adapted from novel "The Wind Rises in Longxi" (风起陇西) by Ma Bo Yong (马伯庸) starring Chen Kun and Bai Yu. I’ve been waiting for this drama for two years and it was worth every second of the wait. The cinematography in this thing is bonkers. The use of light and shadows, the muted colors, the indoor shots opening up into well-lit courtyards, the gritty sound mixing, the whole thing just blew my ass away. Chen Kun and Bai Yu are masters of their art. Fckn masterpiece. 11/10
Who Rules The World (watch on WeTV VIP | watch on Netflix) Adapted from the novel "Qie Shi Tian Xia" (且试天下) by Qing Ling Yue (倾泠月) starring Yang Yang, Zhao LuSi, and Xuan Lu. One of the rare romance dramas that really appealed to me. A well-balanced mix of court intrigue and martial world heroics. Unlimited blorbo potential. It’s hard to outshine Yang Yang (who gives major Mei Changsu vibes through like the first third of the drama) but Zhao LuSi and Xuan Lu together? Magnificent. Breathtaking. Brilliant. 8/10
The Legend of Hao Lan (watch on iQIYI VIP | watch on Viki | watch on tubi) starring Wu Jinyan and Nie Yuan. So this was like, The Story of Yanxi Palace cast, remixed. Was it great? Not really. Did I watch every episode? Yeah. I honestly think that Wu Jinyan could just make faces for 50+ sixty minute episodes, and I’d still watch every minute of it. Still, a fascinating take on the Warring States Period, and actually based on a woman who helped her son become the King of Qin, then ultimately the First Emperor of China. I think 99% of the budget went to costumes, and tbh, it was totally worth every penny. 7/10
(yeah, after all this, I rewatched Nirvana In Fire again)
The Silent Criminal (watch on Apple TV | watch on Bilibili | watch on iQIYI VIP | watch on Viki) starring Li Jiaming and Wen Sheng. So incredibly gay. Hilarious, yes, but predominantly gay. Murder, intrigue, suspense, pining; this little drama literally has everything. Did it impact my life and leave a long-lasting impression? Not really. But I was most throughly entertained. 7/10
My Heroic Husband (watch on Amazon Prime | watch on iQIYI VIP | watch on Viki) Adapted from the novel "Zhui Xu" (赘婿) by Fen Nu de Xiang Jiao (愤怒的香蕉). Starring Song Yi and Guo Qilin. Actually, the majority of Joy of Life cast is in this drama, including a cameo by Zhang Ruoyun in the very beginning. Cast aside tho, I fckn love this drama to pieces. Song Yi and Guo Qilin have amazing chemistry, and they’re so goddamn adorable together I can’t even stand it. The plot is far from complex but immensely satisfying. Excellent drama on a mediocre budget, one I plan to regularly rewatch.
A League of Nobleman - based on danmei novel The Society of Four Leaves by Da Feng Gua Guo starring Song Weilong and Jing Boran
Flying Phoenix - based on danmei novel of the same name by 風弄 starring Dai Jingyao and Shu Yaxin
The Story of the Bat - based on danmei novel Bat by Feng Nong starring Mao Zijun and Zhang Yao
The Longest Promise - based on xianxia novel Zhu Yan by 沧月 starring Xiao Zhan, Ren Min, and Zhang Yunlong

Story of Kunning Palace - based on the the web novel 坤宁 by Shi Jing starring Bai Lu and Zhang Linghe
Under the Microscope - based on the novel 显微镜下的大明 by 马伯庸 starring Zhang Ruoyun and Qi Wei

Regarding the Hunter plotline of this ep, can you imagine if we’d gotten a whole season of human realm adventures? A whole season of Hunter being gradually taken over by Belos?
Like, in the beginning, everything is fine. The Human Realm is new, and scary, but it’s also exciting. Belos is gone, and he can’t hurt him anymore. For the first time in probably his whole life, Hunter can actually relax.
And then, it happens.
Whispers, faint and uncomfortably familiar, when he’s alone at night. A shadow in the corner of his eye that skitters away when he turns to look. Nightmares of a monstrous figure standing over him, eyes gleaming with malice, talking to him in Belos’s voice.
Hunter swears up and down that Belos is back, that he’s there, right t h e r e, but nobody else sees him. Nobody else hears his chilling laugh echoing endlessly within his head, the cruel whispers of how he’ll never escape Belos, how he was such an easy pawn, and why would he betray him? After all he’s done for Hunter, why would he be so ungrateful? The others can’t see Belos, can’t hear him; they don’t say it, but Hunter knows they pity him, think him paranoid and delusional. They won’t help him, whispers that voice again. Why would they?
And episode by episode, Hunter begins to change. He snaps at the others more often, gets this uncomfortably cold glint to his eyes, face twisting into a condescending sneer that sounds almost uncomfortably familiar in its cadence when he says what should be innocuous things like “Why haven’t you found a way to get us back yet, Luz? I thought you wanted to stay in the Demon Realm” or “Surely you can figure this out, human”.
Everyone around him grows more and more worried as they start to notice these changes. They talk amongst themselves, wondering how to best approach him and help him, because he’s clearly growing more and more stressed and paranoid, and they want to help him, but Hunter can’t accept their help, can’t trust that they won’t hate him for what he is. And when the voice in his head tells him that he’s better off away from them, that they must be plotting against him, because why else would they be talking about him in hushed whispers, it becomes uncomfortably easy to just nod and accept it, to isolate himself more and more.
His questions slowly begin to feel less like genuine concerns and more like taunts, accusations, hitting Luz’s insecurities right on their respective nails, but she can’t confront him about them because that means telling the truth to everyone, and he reminds her that “they’ll hate you for sure; after all, you’ve been lying to them for months”, so she tells herself it’s fine, it’s nothing, because he’s right, isn’t he?
And then finally, Belos takes over, strong enough now to use him as nothing more than a literal puppet. The guilt as everyone realizes he was right, of course Belos was back, how could they have been so stupid? They knew he was acting strangely, so how did none of them realize what was happening until it was too late?
The desperate struggle as he tries to wrest control of himself away from Belos, to claw and scratch his way to freedom once again, but all he can manage are short, brief bursts of control before he’s squashed beneath his thumb yet again, reduced to a mindless puppet for Belos to manipulate because “that’s all you’ve ever been, Hunter. Stop trying to change what you are”.
And then the swell of anger and downright self-love as he forces Belos out of his body, regains control of his own self. He tells Belos he refuses to go back, because he knows he has worth, and he’s done listening to Belos’s lies, and for a few, brief moments, he’s finally, finally free.
And when he finally wakes, revived by his first ever friend, he cries. A cathartic, body-wracking screaming sob as he swears he’ll make Belos pay for what he’s done.
For Flapjack. For Luz and the others. For all the other innocent witches and demons of the Boiling Isles. For Caleb. For the other golden guards, his fellow unwitting pawns in Belos’s game.
But most importantly,
for himself.

Biography of Heba Yue, Part 2 (ZS14)
Defeat of Moqi Chounu, but alas also the end of Heba Yue.
Chounu soon after abandoned Qi岐 province, fled north to Anding, and set up palisades at Pingting. Tianguang just then arrived in Qi form Yong, and he and Yue combined strength. The army had arrived between the Qian and Wei [rivers] when he made an announcement distant and near, saying:
Now the climate and weather is increasingly hot, and not the time for campaigning and chastising, wait until the autumn cold to once more plan to advance and capture.
Chounu heard about it, and thereupon considered it to be true. He divided up and dispatched the various armies to disperse and make camp and farm in the minute streams [?] a hundred li north of Qi province, and he sent his Grand Commandant, Hou Yuanjin, in charge of 5 000 troops, to occupy the strategic points and erect palisades. There were a thousand of his people or less at [each] palisade at several [different] places to both fight and defend.
Yue understood his power had been divided up, and therefore he covertly made strict preparations with Tianguang. Late afternoon, he secretly dispatched light cavalry to travel first on the roads, and to the rear the various armies fully issued out. At the dark dawn, he attacked and encircled Yuanjin's palisade. He took it and promptly seized Yuanjin. The various who had been taken prisoner he all set free, and from that the remaining palisades comprehensively surrendered. Yue at starlight pressed straight towards Jing涇 province, its Inspector, Siji Changgui, used the city to surrender.
Chounu therefore abandoned Pingting and fled, intending to head towards Gaoping. Yue's light cavalry pressed the pursuit, and the next day they caught up with Chounu at Pingliang's Changkeng [“Long Ditch”], and after a single battle they seized him. Within Gaoping City they also apprehended Xiao Baoyin to surrender.
The traitors' Acting Tribunal Moqi Daoluo led a multitude of 6 000 to withdraw and protect Qianzhun Mountain. Yue attacked him. Daoluo was defeated, and led 1 000 cavalry in flight, they pursued him but did not catch up. Thereupon he managed to enter Long, and throw in with the leader of the Lüeyang thieves, Wang Qingyun. Qingyun, as Daoluo's valour truly surpassed the regular order, was considerably pleased with obtaining him, and used him as Great General.
Tianguang again, together with Yue, went past Long [Mountain] to arrive at Shuiluo City where Qingyun resided. Qingyun and Daoluo again and again set out from the city to resist in battle, they seized them both. Their remnant multitudes all surrendered, and they thoroughly buried them, the dead were 17 000 people. The Three Qin, He, Wei, Gua, Liang, and Shan provinces all came to revert to sincerity. The traitor leader Suqin Mingda from Xia province surrendered at Pingliang but later rebelled again. Yue again chastised and seized him.
Though Tianguang was the supreme leader, Yue had merit and achievements in most of it. He was promoted to General of Chariots and Cavalry, and advanced in feudal rank to be an Earl, with an estate of 2 000 households. Soon after he was given Chief Controller for the Various Army Affairs of Jing涇, Beibin, and the Two Xia, Four Provinces, and Inspector of Jing涇 province, and advanced in feudal rank to be a Duke.
When Tianguang entered Luo, he made Yue Acting Inspector of Yong province. Mmiddle of Jianming [530 – 531], he was designated Great General of Agile Cavalry, and increased his estate with 500 households.
Beginning of Putai [531 – 532], he was appointed Chief Controller for the Various Army Affairs of the Two Qi岐 and Dongqin, Three Provinces, Ceremony Similar to the Three Ministers, and Inspector of Qi岐 province. He advanced his fief to be Duke of Qingshui commandery, and increased his estate from the previous [?] to 3 000 households.
Soon after he was promoted to Attendant-at-Centre and given a rear section with drums and pipes. He advanced in rank to Opening Office with Ceremony Similar to the Three Ministers, concurrently Archer-Servant of the Left to the Masters of Writing and Acting Tribunal of Longyou, continuing to stay at Gaoping. 2nd Year [532 AD], he was promoted to Chief Controller for the Various Army Affairs of Three Yong, the Two Qi, and the Two Hua, and Inspector of Yong province.
When Tianguang was about to led the multitudes to resist Shenwu of Qi, he dispatched to ask for plans from Yue. Yue reported back, saying:
The royal house bestride and occupy three quarters, the soldiers and horses are many and plentiful. Gao Huan has a flock of crows, how will he be able to be a foe? As such, a force's overcomes with harmony, and merely desire similar minds to join strength with, and that is all. Suppose bones and flesh are parted, suspecting and second-guessing each other, they will plan for survival and not relax, how will [they] be able to regulate people. Concerning the view from a lower official, in no case only[?] garrison Guanzhong to strengthen root and base. Divide off sharp forces to combine strength with the multitude armies. When advancing they can hence overcome the foe, and when withdrawing they can hence manage to keep whole.
Tianguang did not follow and in the end was defeated. Yue led the army down to Long and proceeded to Yong, and seized Tianguang's younger brother Xianshou in response to Shenwu of Qi.
When Xiaowu of Wei was enthroned, he was promoted to Great Acting Tribunal of Guanzhong, and increased his estate with 1 000 households. 2nd Year of Yongxi [533 AD], Xiaowu covertly ordered Yue to plan against Shenwu of Qi, and thereupon pierced his heart blood and held fast thereby his commitment to Yue. Decreed Yue as Chief Controller for the Various Army Affairs of the Two Yong, the Two Hua, the Two Qi岐, Bin, the Four Liang#, the Three Yi, Ba, the Two Xia, Wei蔚, Ning, and Jing涇, Twenty Provinces, and Great Chief Controller.
Shenwu of Qi already hated Yue and his brothers' merit and fame. Yue was afraid, and therefore agreed to form a compact with Taizu. The speech is in Taizu's annals. Yue went himself to the northern boundary, and calmly set up border defences. He led the multitudes to press on to the western limits of Pingliang, laid out camps for several tens of li to support in this way herding horses in Yuan province, and made plans for calming himself.
Before this, Moqi Luogan of the Feiyetou, Hulü Shamen of the Tiele, Huba Mi'etu, Hedouling Yili, and others equally held close multitudes to defend themselves. Reaching this point, everyone sincerely adhered. The Inspectors of the four Qin, Nanqin, He, and Wei provinces also met at Pingliang, and accepted Yue's authority. Only the Inspector of Ling province, Cao Ni, did not respond to the summons, and then exchanged messengers with Shenwu of Qi.
3rd Year [534 AD] Yue summoned Houmochen Yue¤ to Gaoping, he intended to chastise him [i.e. Cao Ni?], and ordered Yue¤ to be the vanguard, yet Yue¤ had received Shenwu of Qi's covert directions to plan against Yue. Yue had no perception of it of, and had previously also made light of Yue¤. Yue¤ therefore persuaded Yue to enter camp to discuss military affairs together, and ordered his son-in-law, Yuan Hongjing, to behead Yue within his tent. In court or countryside there were none who did not bitterly regret it.
He was conferred Attendant-at-Centre, Grand Tutor, Recording the Masters of Writing, Chief Controller for the Various Army Affairs of Guanzhong's Thirty Provinces, Great General, and Inspector of Yong province. His posthumous title as Martial and Strong [wuzhuang] with burial with the rites of a King.
