I absolutely LOVED Lego Star Wars: Summer Vacation!! Definitely my favourite of the Lego specials!

The Solo family vacation was everything I wanted! Ben as a grumpy kid constantly rolling his eyes at his embarrassing parents. He was so adorable with his little crush on Sidero and wanting to impress the other kids, but making a complete fool of himself. This is the awkward Ben content I’m here for!

BEN FLYING THE FALCON!!! I absolutely loved all of that! And Han and Leia being so proud of him! They weren’t mad in the slightest, they were just glad he was safe. That warmed my heart.

Saying goodbye as he goes off to Luke’s academy. The hug with Chewie!! ‘I love you. I know’ and then running back to hug his dad 🥺 His parents watching him walk away. Leia really didn’t want to let him go. She even said it’s one of the hardest things she’s ever had to do.

I know some people aren’t happy about Ben appearing as a force ghost, but I just loved seeing him being included in the family! It was a nice moment they decided to include (and something we were denied in TROS) and I’m so thankful for that! The people who make these Lego specials really do care about Ben.

(Also I just realised Luke wasn’t there with the other force ghosts. Ben was included and Luke wasn’t? That’s a nice change haha 😌)

Also, why was he wearing his Kylo Ren outfit and still had his scar? And how many times in this special alone did they say ‘no one’s ever really gone’? This non canon special doesn’t prevent Ben from ever coming back.

Other moments I loved:

Obi-Wan wearing a colourful shirt and singing karaoke! Iconic!! His whole story with Colvett was just delightful.

Anakin on the beach annoyed with the sand 😆

I love how these Lego specials respect and care about the sequels. The callback to Poe giving Finn his name. Rey reaching out her hand to Finn on Jakku. Rose saving Finn on Crait. That brought on all the sequels feels and made me tear up. And I loved that Finn had the spotlight. He was really the heart of this ❤️

A few minor gripes:

The force ghosts appearing to a ‘Jedi in need’. Umm... where were they when Ben was thrown down a pit?? Or when Rey died?? I know Lego doesn’t have anything to do with the movies, and they just needed a narrative reason for them to appear in this, but that made me a bit sad 😔

Overall, I really loved this special! The Ben Solo content we got was glorious and much needed 🦋
