Dream dream

A devil fruit user with the ability to steal a persons dreams/ambitions steals Luffy’s dream to become the pirate king. This leaves a despondent Luffy who doesn’t believe in his or any of his crews dreams (their dreams have become part of his) the crew is left to get his dream back.

One day (maybe in the Wano fight maybe not) a devil fruit activates sending Luffy and the strawhats to this world. Allowing for Luffy and Ace to reunite, but also Robin and Olivia (her mom) Chopper and Dr. Hiriluk, Law and Rosinante and many more.

Zoro’s arc

I really wanted a Zoro arc. Where his old sensei contacts him about needing Wado Ichimonji (to defeat an enemy that can only be cut by one of the 21 great grade blades) Zoro has to return but he hates leaving the crew. He tells Luffy (there’s no way he’s leaving without an explanation) and Luffy is not letting him go alone.

There are many twist including old memories and new knowledge (maybe Kuina’s death wasn’t an accident)

Nika cult

A Nika worshiping cult wants to bring Nika back to the world, to do this they have to kill Luffy. They almost succeed, Nika takes over to keep Luffy alive. Now it’s up to the crew to find away to save Luffy. But it’s so weird to travel with Nika. Who knows them, because Luffy loves his crew, but Nika is not Luffy. So it’s like hanging out with your loved ones friend you never met.

Sun god and king of hell / madoka magica fusion

If you’ve watched Madoka Magica you know. But Luffy loses himself to Nika. Maybe to save the crew of maybe the whole fleet, but Luffy’s no longer in control. Zoro truly becomes the king of hell and uses his power as Asura to block Nika’s influence over Luffy, allowing Luffy to be Luffy. But every now and then Nika tries to break free.

Skyward Sword/Zelda au

Luffy remembers his past Life and Nika while separated from the crew. The crew is trying to find him while slowly remembering their own past lives. They are only finding bits and pieces but one memory stands out. The death of Nika at the hands of Asura.

The whole story follows the idea of Skyward sword. That Luffy is Nika reincarnated and needs to finish the job Nika set out to do before he past. Other people (the red hair pirates or the revolutionary’s) are helping him remember his past life while stoping the Strawhats from interfering.

Kamen Chef AU details (updated):

The prompt:

This is totally an AU verse now thanks to Kizuna and its drama CD’s info re: Daisuke.

The story starts when one day Daisuke and V-mon come to talk with Chef Digitamamon from Chinatown area and Daisuke asks Digitamamon to teach him some tips and such. Digitamamon then says he wants what Daisuke can do already and runs a little test. Surprised with Daisuke’s skill being not bad but also having room to be improved, the egg-like digimon accepts him as intern. V-mon also gets “employed” to help with Daisuke’s training.

Since it’s too dangerous for both, also the fact villains the Chosen Children still have to fight come to Digitamamon’s restaurant... Daisuke gets an ALIAS to keep himself safe from trouble (?!) -- So now while he’s working there he’s an Lighdramon-like armored digimon called Lightnimon and gets more than a double life as HS student and Chosen Child: Now he’s a masked chef.

As you can think, Daisuke himself still got no time to explain to his friends and his seniors (Taichi-Yamato-Koushiro-Sora-Mimi-Jou) or even his family about this part-time job. But hey, one day he will get there.

Now does this disguise work?

Since digimon can spot who’s a digimon and who’s not pretty well, the food scent messes with said senses and it also hides Daisuke’s scent.

Daisuke also tries his best to not talk much and only when needed. Anyone who knows him pretty well is able to identify him. There’s no in between.

To prevent being caught, Daisuke and V-mon have their own “safety route” to go back to human world and to come to the Digital World.

They also avoid using public spaces for that. So, basically he does it from his own room once everyone at home is asleep.

Thanks to 02 ep 33 we learn the 02 group’s digivices can give them the appearance and outfit they deeply want, so this is how Daisuke got this “Lighdramon-esque armor” and how he can switch quickly back to his original appearance. This is referred by “change” when mentioned.

Now, details about the muses involved there:

Digitamamon (he/him): The owner of this restaurant, pretty strict but has a soft heart. Will fight whoever tries to hurt his employees and customers, but will also smack you in the head if you break his building. It’s like a father figure for his employees, and can speak ancient digimon language.

Daisuke AKA Lightnimon (17yo, he/him): Just an ordinary Chosen from Odaiba... Who once saved the world from BelialVamdemon. So yeah, Daisuke’s pretty famous and of course there’s bad and mean digimon seeking to beat him and become famous for it. He works disguised as a digimon named “Lightnimon” (or Lightni, called by almost everyone there) as Digitamamon’s student. Somehow, his ideas and suggestions starts improving the restaurant to the point it gets pretty busy later.

V-mon (he/him): Daisuke’s partner, best digi-bud and partner-in-crime when it comes to Daisuke’s food experiments. He supports Daisuke so much, but sometimes gets worried about Daisuke and Daisuke’s clumsiness... Though V-mon can also be a walking mess and stupid. Can evolve to multiple forms by using Digimentals, but his main adult evolution is XV-mon. He works as waiter and as kitchen assistant.

Bakumon (they/them): One of the oldest employees from this restaurant. They can talk, but it’s more easier pretend to not, and just repeat the menu when someone asks them about something. They do everything though, but mostly to greet the customers and serve them.

Gekomon(s) (they/them): A tiny amount of the employees lately are Gekomon from the local area. Some probably had met Mimi, Palmon, Taichi, Agumon, Jou and Gomamon before. They have small jobs such as helping serving the customers or keeping the place clean.

Digimon Adventure(s) REPEATverse: an introduction

Koushiro Izumi, in a distant FUTURE TIMELINE (but pre-02 Epilogue), during a "final battle", witnesses Taichi Yagami about ready to face his death, as well as the deaths of the rest of the Chosen Children - - including that of Koushiro Izumi himself. ( After all, if TAICHI CANNOT WIN ... ) In a last-ditch effort to save EVERYONE and everything, Koushiro CODES and sets in motion an endless " Reboot ", to constantly loop and " REPEAT " the timeline - or timelines. This is in the hopes that one day, they can figure out where they went wrong, stop the enemy, and finally save the day - the worlds - and everyone.

Unfortunately, despite this best effort of Koushiro's, this endless Reboot sends " YGGDRASIL " INTO MADNESS . "Yggdrasil" begins to execute more and more violent attacks against the Chosen Children with each "Reboot" / "REPEAT" in the hopes of wiping them out and "removing" the Chosen, especially one Koushiro Izumi, for good, and destroying all worlds that exist. " HOMEOSTASIS " becomes involved when they begin to target the Chosen - and one Koushiro Izumi, especially - for similar means, in an aim to wipe them out and "remove" them as well, and also, in an attempt to regain the Digital World's balance and stop Yggdrasil while they're at it. However, EVEN HOMEOSTASIS, SOON BEGINS TO DELVE INTO MADNESS ...

The series of events sets off a major chain reaction. Almost all, if not ALL, of the Chosen Childrens' former villains begin to become aware of the worlds' and Koushiro's plights, as well. After all, when you have a massive telescope where you can spy directly on the Chosen from afar ala Piemon, how could they NOT become aware when the Chosen (and especially, one Koushiro Izumi, and ALSO, one Taichi Yagami) begin acting strangely of their own accord? Some of the former villains begin attempts to use the situation to their specific advantages, while ignoring the wider plight - for example, Etemon may simply want to gain the revenge he wants for Taichi defeating him " that time ", even if it means Etemon giving up his mind in order to do so. MUGENDRAMON [“Machinedramon”] ESPECIALLY has his own goals that may or may not involve a certain OTHER TIME-HOPPING " RYO AKIYAMA " as well as attempting to UTTERLY DESTROY A CERTAIN KOUSHIRO IZUMI WHILE HE’S AT IT. Some of the former villains and the Dark Masters even begin fighting against each other - and yet more of them, particularly Piemon, may be becoming more and more aware of the timelines - and which CHOSEN REMEMBER those timelines - as time goes on.

Moreover, every time Koushiro must "REPEAT" a timeline, the pressure begins to build further and further until it's near mind-breaking levels. Not only does he have to deal with SAVING MULTIPLE WORLDS AND UNIVERSES, and coming up with plans to defeat all of these enemies ON HIS OWN, without telling any of the others lest they figure out what's really going on with him, - but he ALSO has to relive his personal storyline and issues, over and over and over and over again, for endless timelines on end. And considering Koushiro Izumi also was someone who started out feeling like " even if he wasn't around , THE WORLD would STILL GO ON ", WELL ....

The pressure buildup becomes too much -

--- and Koushiro Izumi, via the Digital Worlds' coding and his own skills, wipes his own memory as well as those of everyone elses'. ESPECIALLY those of TAICHI YAGAMI’S. {...and, even voluntarily on Taichi’s part, As Well}

... but along the way ---

... soon starts to REGAIN those memories, in numerous other timelines.

How far along the “original timeline” do the timelines actually get to progress before thing begin to collapse, yet again ?

I had a very Rider/Precure-esque AU idea for 02... ... In which everything is the same EXCEPT the new characters have their roles reversed.

Like, Daisuke-Miyako-Iori → villain trio and Ken → new Chosen Children

Daisuke would've been the comical villain. Miyako would've been the powerful lady of the group. Iori would've been the tough villain with a righteous aura.

Ken would've been the smart aleck new hero tagging along with Takeru and Hikari.

Despite the reversal roles, they're still the same in core! Like, Daisuke is still cheerful and optimistic, Iori has a strong sense of justice and fairness, Miyako is sincere and brave, Ken is kind and smart etc.

I feel like changing a bit of the spore's functionality to cause Ken's amnesia of the events and slowly corrupting him, also no Ryo, so here Ken's past group was... . .. The 02 trio themselves.

Something happened with all four at a young age and in their first digi-adventure, it caused amnesia on the other three too but Ken is the one with a spore on his neck. It is unknown if the other three have it though.

When Ken is getting vague memories back, he tells Takeru, Hikari and the older kids what he gets and they start deducing the trio also have dark seeds. Koushiro investigates about the origin of the spore with Gennai & Ken's help, to find a way and stop the trio.

The trio actually have NONE spores! They're gaslighted by their surroundings about the past events involving digi, just like what happened with the eight in OG Adv. They still have vague memories but no concrete evidence.

Also, the order of the redemption of the trio: Daisuke → Miyako → Iori

In which Daisuke is saved by Ken, Miyako by Hikari and Iori by Takeru. They later get Jogress evolution after more and more bonding + redemption

Once everyone is on the same side, Ken's spore almost! corrupts him entirely, so you have this mini-arc of Ken working for Arukenimon & co. for 2 episodes, gets saved by Daisuke and they unlock Paildramon.

The Dark Ocean is related to Hikari *only* and she and Miyako are trapped there for two episodic arc, where they reach each other and unlock Silphymon.

The last jogress pair is similar to canon, whoever Iori thinks he's unworthy because all the bad things he had done and it's unfair for everyone to him use jogress evolution. Think about the Submarimon debut episode's drama. Takeru reaches him and they unlock Shakkoumon.

Digimon AUdventure Rec Post

Hi, guys! Man, if there’s one thing the last few days sure have shown us, it’s that we sure are a series of fleeting electrical signals stored in decaying meat husks, slowly realising that our attempts to impose order on a world that seemingly operates on dream logic are futile!

There’s no punchline here!

Have a distraction!

Digimon Adventure 2020, available with a one week delay entirely legally on Crunchyroll, is a re-imagining/straight up AU fic of classic late 90s anime series Digimon Adventure 01, which followed eight Japanese children as they are thrown into an alien world and partnered with eight Digimon, monsters that evolve into more powerful fighting forms.

With excellent character writing, an intricate but often laconically conveyed lore and symbolism, a lot of social commentary which completely passed over my and also most people who weren’t Japanese’s heads and which fanboys apparently get quite angry about if you remind them of it, and some surprisingly fun battles, Digimon Adventure 01 would go on to spawn several movies and two sequel series, following the kids into middle school, high school, and all the way into their early twenties.

(And beyond, because Last Evolution is almost certainly getting a sequel eventually, having left itself open for one and with Toei being very fond of money.)

It also spawned several series set in different continuities, including dark and brooding Lovecraftian horror Digimon Tamers; peppy Super Sentai/Kamen Rider inspired adventure Digimon Frontier; fresh and aimed-at-very-young-audiences Appmon; 90s style cop show Digimon Savers; and prolonged test of my fucking patience Digimon Xros Wars.

Digimon Adventure 2020, while it has yet to show the same writing chops as Adventure 01, is a well-written, well-animated show with eight immensely likeable but very different main characters. At its best, it manages to achieve heights of being straight-up epic that 01 rarely did, and at its worst, it’s still a whole lot of fun with a lot of heart to it, written and produced by people for whom this is clearly a passion project.

At the time of writing, it’s completed two story arcs and is on a third, one that pits Local Enthusiasm Peddler Taichi Yagami, Feral Tsundere Yamato Ishida, and Happy-Go-Lucky Threat To National Security Koushiro Izumi against Algomon, a plant Digimon who wants to cause havoc with trains and also nuclear missiles; one that introduces Super-Jock And Spirited Kindness Advocate Sora Takenouchi, Rich Girl And Dictator Of The Plant People Mimi Tachikawa, and Competitive Panic Attack Player Jyou Kido, and sets the kids against shadowy eye monster Eyesmon; and one that sees Yamato’s little brother, Takeru, joining the team and clashing against arc villain Devimon, while Sora and company attempt to stop a squid lady from attacking Singapore.

It’s great fun! Unless you hate monsters covered in eyes and child endangerment! Then it is not great fun!

Other things about the series:

-- Taichi is constantly enthusing about how clever and brave Yamato is, and Yamato is constantly responding by scowling at him like he wants to hit the poor guy.

-- Sora has a knife!

-- The Takaishida brothers have no sense of self-preservation and it’s terrible.

-- Ominous Feather Scenes.

-- The pervasive sense that you aren’t being told something, and are missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.

-- Jyou demolishes a small bamboo hut with the sheer raw power of his anxiety.

-- Questionable parenting!

-- Taichi enthusiastically refers to Mimi as Queen Mimi and almost never questions by what legal and ethical right she has declared herself sovereign over a small kingdom of plants.

-- SkullKnightmon, one of only two good things about Xros Wars, shows up.

-- The soundtrack is actually legitimately amazing. While the writing may lag behind 01′s, Toshihiko Sahashi’s soundtrack is easily one of the best in the entire franchise, and a pretty decent contender for one of the best soundtracks in the industry.

Time will tell exactly what is up with the series, there’s been a handful of events indicating that it might not be as much of an AU or reimagining as the production staff claim it to be, but either way, it is both an excellent series and a great entry point to a really excellent franchise.

(Except you, Xros Wars! Give me back the forty hours you stole from me!)

Anyway, I recommend it, and standing at a little over twenty twenty-minute episodes right now, it’s perfect for either binge-watching or watching one episode at a time in between doing other things. I 100% promise you won’t regret it, unless you do.

Hey, happy Friday! I'm sending you an ask for Fanfic Friday. Can you tell me which of your fics is your fave right now? What do you love about it?

My favorite fic is The Song of Love. I think it'll remain my favorite fic for a long time. It's not just because of how much effort I put on the writing, it's not just about how hard I worked on it. To be completely honest, the reason why I love this story so much is that I realized all of my Digimon Adventure dreams through it.

As a child (and, let's face it, as a grown-up as well) I was always frustrated at how Taichi and Yamato got way more screen time than the other kids. You see, I had more love for the other kids than for the main two, I found them more interesting, I wanted to see the show explore more of their complexities, their flaws, their fears. I wanted them to be the main characters.

Yeah, I know, blasphemy!

But that was the sentiment that got me to start this story. What if Taichi and Yamato had never become chosen children? How would the group dynamic be without them? What if Sora had to be the leader? What if the children equal screen time and complex arcs since the beginning?

I didn't have too much ambition when I wrote the first chapter. I was sure it would be ignored like my other fics and I would eventually abandon it. But then, the most incredible thing happened. I began to get reviews on a consistent basis and they filled me with encouragement I had never felt before towards writing.

And since this fic was an AU and I had no obligation to tie it to canon, I took as many liberties as I wanted. Classic Adventure villains now had backstories and goals that were relatable (in fact, most of them became more of antagonists than villains) and LadyDevimon became the most complex and interesting of them all. I can't put in words how much I loved writing for her and making her so conflicted and hurt through the story but still having a lingering warmth that wouldn't make her completely fall from grace.

And I also dove deeply into the kids' backstories and how they affected their behavior. That was, after all, what I loved about Digimon Adventure. Sora's turbulent relationship with her mother made her strive to be as different from the version of Toshiko she had in her head as possible. But because Sora worked so hard to be good and reliable to the other kids, she wondered if she was an actual good person or if she was simply lying to everybody. Nobody knew the real Sora, and if they did, they would definitely reject her, she thought. And how wonderful it was to slowly and steadily prove her wrong. Despite losing control of her temper at times (especially when someone made her think about adults being bad to children), accidental reveals about her past and terrible mistakes (everybody makes at least one terrible mistake in this story), despite the massive guilt and self-loathing that assaulted her, nobody turned their back at Sora. Her insecurities and mistakes were met with comprehension and unconditional love. And that's what made her accept the mantle of leadership and made her start to try to understand her mother.

Koushiro's arc parallels Sora's in many ways. He also had self-loathing issues and did everything to hide his true self from others. For not seeing worth in himself, he tried to be as useful as he could to other people. For not believing he was capable of understanding or giving emotional support to others, he tried to help in practical ways. In trying to avoid hurting anyone's feelings by accident, he defaulted to perpetual politeness. But the main aspect of his arc was how he his will to understand the things around him masked the deep fear he had of looking into himself. Koushiro was sure that he was not a good person, compared to his wonderful parents and friends, but a faulty individual that could only hope to help others despite his glaring imperfections. What a joy it was to deconstruct his warped worldview! Koushiro learned that he too could emotionally connect to his friends and help them, he learned that his friends would love him and fight for him regardless of whatever comes in his way and that he'd do the same for them. In a twist for the crest of knowledge, what Koushiro needed to learn the most was something that had been inside him since the beginning. If I could sum up his arc, it would be by showing what he said to Tentomon in chapter 43:

“Now that I had the opportunity to see my entire life flashing in front of me, now that I came to see how great were the things that tried to destroy me and failed… now that I see how far I’ve come, how much I’ve grown… for most of my life, I was afraid to get to know myself better, sure that I’d only see terrible things in me. I was myself a mystery that I didn’t want to solve. But you encouraged me to do so… I had a lot to learn and I wasn’t so afraid of the unknown with you by my side. You kept on teaching me… all of you… that’s how I came to get to know myself. Do you know what I learned? What I concluded after taking a good look inside me? I’m actually pretty great!”

And Jyou! What can I say about Jyou? Remember how I said that each kid makes at least one terrible mistake? Jyou made his in chapter 4. He was so adamant about following the rules he believed he had to follow and enforcing them... that he got little sympathy from the others in the beginning. Jyou had deep confidence issues, he believed he had to work harder than anyone else because he was not as naturally gifted as other people. To try to conquer his fear of being an “average at best” person who was not really capable of becoming a doctor, he pushed himself to unhealthy lengths and endangered himself constantly. He came to understand that he shouldn't just think about what he's supposed to do or what is expected of him. Jyou could do and become whatever he wanted! His journey was to learn to be true to himself.

Mimi didn't have family related trauma, like the others. Her growth was tied to trusting her compassionate instincts and trying to reach others through her words. She was outspoken and strong-willed, she was not afraid of calling people out and was fiercely protective of her friends, not understanding how they could put themselves down so much. Mimi also happened to be the person who most easily forgave other people, but not before scolding them. Mimi at times doubted herself, but her emotional honesty allowed her to recover quickly. She might be the strongest chosen child due to her being the least afraid of being vulnerable.

Takeru went through a lot in The Song of Love. As if it was not enough to be stranded in a strange world with kids he didn't know and without his big brother, he had to deal with a huge loss very soon. Takeru had a hard time, especially during the second arc, dealing with his trauma, which made him a bit aggressive. But he got better with time and support from the others. Aside from the loss of his partner, Takeru also suffered from a lingering fear of abandonment derived from his parents' divorce. Because of that, he was adamant about people facing their problems head on.

I really can't say too much about Hikari's arc because it's not possible to do it without spoiling the biggest twists of the story. To be as vague as possible, she wanted to do things on her own and prove to herselt that she could be more than what other people expect of her. Her arc was about learning that she didn't have to be alone.

Yeah, I know I wrote too much, but I'm really passionate about this story and these characters. Once again, thank you for the ask!

[fanfic] Secret of Ears: Chapter 1

Ken carefully arranged his hair so that it fell over his ears, checking his reflection. The tips still pointed out of his hair, but not enough that anyone would call attention to them. He nodded; just the way that he liked them.

“Why do you hide those, Ken-chan?” Wormmon asked, peering up from where he sat on the back of the toilet.

Ken rested his hands over his ears for a few seconds before he turned to look at his partner. “Haven’t you seen other humans’ ears?”

Wormmon tilted his head, considering. “Well, yes. Yours aren’t like those.”

“I know.” Ken looked back at the reflection before he reached to pick Wormmon up and settle him on his shoulders. “But that’s why I don’t want people to see them.”

His ears were just different. The skin on them was paler than the rest of his body. But that really wasn’t the problem. He wouldn’t have cared if that was the only issue. They were pointed. Far more so than anyone else’s that he’d ever seen. He could keep his hair over the ends most of the time. No one had said anything about them for ages.

Though he did remember – long ago, when he’d been young, before his hair grew out to cover them. He didn’t remember the kid’s name, but one kid he’d played with at a park had – he shuddered just at the memory before he carried Wormmon out of the bathroom and into the living room.

Daisuke lay on the couch in the living room, V-mon next to him, chatting about the latest soccer scores with Ken’s dad. His dad didn’t play soccer, but he’d learned enough about it when Ken had to keep up with Daisuke.

“Ken!” Daisuke jerked up to his feet and grinned the moment Ken entered the room, previous conversation forgotten. “What took you so long?”

Ken just shook his head, ever so carefully. Daisuke knew about his ears but he never said a word about them. He never had, not since Ken started doing his best to be a better person.

“Are you ready?” Ken asked instead of answering. Daisuke wouldn’t press. He never did.

“Sure.” Daisuke waved at Ken’s dad, who waved back at him. “We can finish later?”

“Sure!” Mr. Ichijouji nodded. “You boys have fun and behave yourselves!”

Ken fought back a blush. His parents were well aware that the two of them weren’t only best friends. He thought they were a little sad that they’d never have biological grandchildren but Ken hadn’t ruled out the idea of adopting one day. He hadn’t talked about it with Daisuke or Wormmon, though. They were fifteen. There was so much time ahead of them.

Together the four of them headed out of the building. Daisuke chattered relentlessly the whole way, about at least half a dozen different topics, and Ken knew he was only required to nod and smile at the right points. He did listen, though. He loved hearing Daisuke babble about whatever was on his mind.

Right now it was ramen – which wasn’t a surprise since they were going out to have a ramen lunch. Daisuke insisted that he would have a ramen restaurant of his own one day and he searched for ramen all over the world. Ken didn’t even remember how many times he’d been taken out for ramen anymore. At least it was delicious – and Daisuke’s own cooking got better every time.

“You know, your ears aren’t that strange,” Daisuke said without warning. Ken stumbled over his own feet, catching himself, and staring at Daisuke.

“Where did that come from?” He raised one hand to make sure his hair remained tucked over the tips, while his other made sure Wormmon remained safe. Both those situations settled in his favor, he stared at Daisuke.

“I was just thinking, that��s all.” Daisuke shrugged. “I even know someone who has ears like that. Someone who isn’t you, I mean.”

Ken blinked, mouth working but not actually having nay words come out. He shook his head. No one else had those. He would have noticed – wouldn’t he?

“Yeah. You know him too.”

Ken didn’t have the chance to ask more questions, since they came to the train and they both had to worry with getting their tickets out and finding the right train. Once they got settled on their seats, he glanced around, not wanting anyone else to overhear this. While Digimon were known and the world remained in the process of adjusting to the existence of a fellow sapient species, there were always those who weren’t happy about it. He also suspected this conversation might bring up his past as the Kaiser and he really didn’t want that to be brought up around people who didn’t know.

There weren’t that many people around them right now. One little girl had her own Digimon partner, but no one else there seemed partnered. Ken nodded to himself, then turned to Daisuke, opening his mouth.

“Ichijouji? Is that you?”

It was a voice he didn’t recognize right away. But he wasn’t surprised that people he didn’t know knew his name – the remnants of fame clung to him, thankfully more for being a Chosen these days than anything else. He turned to see a teenager lurching down towards them. He was grinning wildly and threw himself casually into the seat next to Ken.

“Yes,” Ken murmured. “I’m sorry, I don’t remember you…”

“Yeah, you probably wouldn’t,” the teenager agreed a little too cheerfully. “Tachibana Noriaki. We played together when we were kids. Before your brother -” He waved one hand in lieu of finishing the sentence. Ken held back a flinch and managed to nod. He could think about Osamu without it hurting much these days. But he still didn’t like hearing him mentioned without warning.

Tachibana regarded Daisuke carefully before he looked back at Ken. “I’ve seen you on the news. So you grew up to be a hero, huh?” He grinned at the way Ken blushed. Daisuke leaned forward.

“Was there ever any doubt? He’s the best hero!” Daisuke declared without a breath of hesitation.

Tachibana grinned, displayed teeth that looked as if he had been sponsored by a toothpaste company. “Well, when he was a kid, I wouldn’t have guessed. Little kid drawing all the time.” He shrugged before he reached over and dug one hand into Ken’s hair, grabbing onto his ear. “And with these ears -” He pulled on the tips.

Ken jerked away, eyes going wide, and Wormmon glared at Tachibana. “Stop touching Ken-chan!” He snapped, ready to spew out silk at a moment’s notice.

Tachibana tilted his head. “Man, what’s the problem? You’ve see those ears, haven’t you? How can you resist?”

“Pretty darned easily,” Daisuke snapped back. “Leave him alone.”

Tachibana drew his hand back. “If you’re gonna be that way about it. Just trying to have fun.” He snorted and got up, walking to a seat farther away from them.

Ken leaned back on his own chair, tucking his hair back over his ears, trying so very hard not to tremble and not doing a very good job of it. Daisuke rested one hand on Ken’s.

“You okay?”

Ken nodded a little. His ears weren’t just a bit larger and pointed, they were sensitive. Having someone yank on them like that would leave them red and burning for ages.

Daisuke grumbled a few words that Ken suspected his parents wouldn’t be happy to hear on his lips. They were in English, and he had a surprisingly good accent. Ken tried not to feel so very warm inside from knowing that was because Daisuke was upset over something happening to him.

Before Daisuke said anything else beyond the few profanities, both of their phones started beeping, alerting them to a text. Ken glanced at his and blinked. He hadn’t expected this at all.

“A meeting?” All of the original twelve Chosen being called together by Koushiro. He wasn’t sure of what this meant, but it had to be something important. Izumi Koushiro wouldn’t gather them all without a very good reason. “Change of plans?”

Daisuke sighed, tucking his hands behind his head and pouting. “I guess. We can hit up the ramen place afterward? If it’s not too late.”

Ken nodded. He didn’t want to lose this special time with Daisuke, no matter what the issue was.

At least they were on the right train to get to Izumi’s place. Ken wondered what they would need to talk about. Some sort of new villain? They didn’t really have regular meetings when there wasn’t someone they needed to fight. He wasn’t even sure if they’d had those when there had been. He hadn’t exactly asked back then.

He ran one hand over Wormmon’s back and tried to ignore the way his ears ached. He’d been so looking forward to having a pleasant trip to a new ramen place with Daisuke. Today wasn’t turning out to be his day.

Notes: Tachibana is probably Uchiyama’s second cousin or something. Maybe I’ll make that my canon for them. Anyway, I didn’t mean this as a chaptered piece but I ran out of time and writing juice to make it a one-shot. The full hurt/comfort will be there by the end. As will how the breeds work into this. Though I’m sure you can guess, if you know what Piemon looks like. Extra Notes: As of August 5, 2020, this story is on indefinite hiatus. I intended to restart in September, but YGO GX Month came up and it gave me ideas. So, once that’s taken care of, I’ll return to my WIPs.

DigiOTPWeek Day 12: Disney AU

Pairing: Izumi Koushiro/Tachikawa Mimi, secondary Ishida Yamato/Takenouchi Sora

Mimi and Sora left the dance floor, breathlessly laughing and holding onto each other. “Let’s find the boys!” Mimi said loudly into the other girl’s ear.

Sora’s smile gleamed under the colorful lights. “I know where they’ll be.”

Sure enough, they discovered their men hiding in a corner of the rooftop terrace that overlooked the Shibuya district. Yamato and Koushiro were both chattering animatedly and gesturing at something they were watching on Koushiro’s phone. Mimi was pleased to see that they were getting along so well; she knew how nervous he had been about meeting her friends. “What are you boys doing?” she asked when she was close enough, swooping in to kiss Koushiro’s cheek and take his hand.

Koushiro blushed (though that could have been just the flush from drinking alcohol. It was hard to tell under the red lights). But he still squeezed his hand around hers. “Nothing important. How was the dance floor?”

Mimi bobbed up and down on her toes. “It was so much fun! A little crowded, but at least everyone was nice. Are you guys going to come dance with us now?”

Yamato chuckled. “Probably not. I’m pretty happy right here,” he said while Sora snaked under his arm to steal his drink.

“He only makes music,” Sora observed after taking a sip, “but he’s too cool to dance in a club with the rest of us.”

“Hah! More like too embarrassed. I can’t dance,” he explained to Koushiro. “It’s safer for my ego and the general public if I stay away from the dance floor.”

Giving Mimi a side-long glance, Koushiro admitted, “I can’t dance either.”

Yamato stole his drink back from Sora so that he could clink his glass against Koushiro’s. “A toast to our left feet.”

Both girls burst into laughter. “That’s fine with me. Sora’s a great dancer,” said Mimi coyly. “You better watch out before I steal your girl, Yamato.”

“Don’t think I won’t stoop to stealing your man in revenge,” Yamato shot back. “Actually, I might just do that anyway. Sora, did you know that Koushiro is making a video game specifically for Mimi?”

Mimi preened and wrapped her arms around Koushiro’s midsection. “I’m very lucky,” she said proudly, partly because it was true and partly so that she could see if she could make her boyfriend blush any harder. (She was thrilled to see that she could.)

Sora was understandably very impressed. “What kind of video game?”

“Well…” Koushiro hesitated but Mimi squeezed him gently to urge him on. “It’s only in the early stages, right now. I’m still testing out different characters and storylines. But essentially you play as a Dalmation –”

“A Dalmation? Oh! You mean like Katsu and Kondo?” Sora started to smile knowingly at Mimi, who refused to blush. “I see. Sorry, please go on.”

“Right. Well, the Dalmation is actually a detective. You play in the noir mystery game to sniff out clues to solve a variety of puzzles and cases that bring you closer to your arch-nemesis. Sora poked at Yamato’s ribs. “She’s not that bad. Don’t exaggerate.”

“But think about it: who would a Dalmation be most afraid of? A fur-obsessed fashion designer,” he argued.

Koushiro nodded eagerly. “Nakano would just be the inspiration for the character. The designer in the video game would be a completely exaggerated parody of an evil fur collector. But the best part of it all – do you remember the theme song you picked out for the villain?” He waited for Mimi’s nod before he went on, “Yamato had some lyric ideas for the villain’s theme, too.”

“Oh no.” Sora shook her head. “I am already terrified.”

Mimi didn’t know whether to be horrified at the boys’ audacity to parody her boss (someone she feared and admired in equal measure) or to be happy that Koushiro was obviously so excited. She settled on excitement. “Don’t keep us in suspense. Let’s hear it!”

Yamato laughed. “Oh, it’s not a full song yet. But if you insist, I’ll sing it for you. Oh, by the way – we decided that the villain’s name would be Cruella de Vil.”

“Cruella?” Mimi started to giggle.

“Yes. Koushiro, can you play the song for me again?”

Her boyfriend obligingly dug out of his phone from his pocket. He pressed a couple of buttons. “Here it goes.”

Yamato cocked his head and allowed the music to play a few bars before he warbled, pitching his voice in such a way as to give it parodic nasal quality, “Cruella de Vil… Cruella de Vil… If she doesn’t scare you... No evil thing will.” He hummed along to a few more bars. “She’s like a spider waiting for the kill… look out for… Cruella de Vil!”

Sora covered her face with her hands. “I can’t believe this.”

Mimi fought to keep a straight face. When she failed, she started laughing so hard that tears came to her eyes. “Please tell me you’re going to include this song on the next Knife of Day album.”

Yamato didn’t even hesitate. “Only if Koushiro promises to let my band record the official track so that he can include it on the game.”

“I believe that can be easily arranged,” Koushiro agreed breezily.

Back to my idea for a Zoro Arc.

Part 1

If Koushiro reached out about Zoro returning Wado ichimonji. Immediately think he would first reach out about the beast attacking their home. Maybe a beast with impenetrable skin. The kind only one of the 21 great grade blades can cut.

Zoro has to go help his old master and there is no way Luffy is letting him leave the crew so it’s a field trip to Zoro’s home village.

Once there Zoro goes to met with Koushiro (getting lost on the way several times) Luffy goes with him while the rest of the crew explores the village/restocks.

Once they get there Koushiro explains that there was a miscommunication he wasn’t asking for Zoro’s assistance he was just asking for the return of Wado Ichimonji. Stating that a pirate is unworthy of such a blade and that Zoro is bringing dishonor to Kuina’s memory by carrying it with him on this path.

Zoro is torn because how can he part from Kuina’s sword when he is so close to fulfilling their dream.

But it does belong to Koushiro’s family. And he is Kuina’s father, and Zoro’s former teachers

At the same time Wado is Zoro’s sword. He’s fought with her for years now. He can separate from her.

Before the conversation can go farther Luffy butts in. Calling Koushiro stupid for believing that Zoro would ever dishonor a friends memory. And that Zoro isn’t a dishonorable pirate. They are a different kind of pirate after all.

Koushiro is not about to believe a pirate captain like Luffy. How did he even get Zoro on his crew in the first place?

To which Luffy stupidly tells him, blackmail.

And that defiantly starts a fight. Because maybe Koushiro was wrong and Zoro’s been trapped into this life of a pirate and if he just gets ride of the captain, Zoro will quit.

Zoro doesn’t take well to his captain getting attacked. Doesn’t matter who it is doing the attacking, if they are swinging at Luffy with swords then they are Zoro’s opponent.

But they get interupted by the beast Koushiro needs Wado to slay.

Luffy just laughs and tell him they will take care of this problem for him and then he’ll see that Zoro is more then worthy of wielding Wado Ichimonji.

The beast probably turns out to be a devil fruit user.

I still need to decide if koushiro is a good person worried Zoro has gone down the wrong path or if he’s secretly a monster who killed his daughter

I’ve been thinking about my Zoro Arc and I need to work out the villain. I know one is going to be a devil fruit user that is attacking Zoro’s old dojo/village. (The secondary villain is Koushiro Zoro’s old Sensei but I’m still deciding if he is an antagonist or a straight villain)

Part 2

I want it to feel like a real arc with an enemy that is a threat. So I know I want the devil fruit user to have a zoan fruit. More specifically a mythical Zoan fruit. And I know I want them to be almost impossible to cut.

So where do you go when you need a monster? DnD monster manual of course! And I have some ideas.

We got two camps of thought humanoid monster and monster monsters

We will start off with the humanoids

First we have the death knight

This ideas actually wouldn’t be a zoan but would have a fruit like Brook that keeps him alive. Maybe he’s an old member of the shimotsuki family and is angry with Koushiro’s actions (his desire to hand of the soon to Zoro, someone out side of the family/giving Zoro the sword, and maybe the murder of Kuina👀 I’m really starting to lean into the idea that Koushiro killed his daughter)

This would mean that not only does Koushiro want to take Wado Ichimonji from Zoro but so does the creature he came to fight.

With an armor class of 20 and hit points of 180 it makes the. Near impossible to hit and hard to whittle down their health. It would be a long fight

The second camp is monster monster

First you have a Behir

They are creatures that are a mix between centipedes and crocodiles that can breath lighting.

I really like them because it means Luffy has an advantage against their lightning breath like he did in Skypia. But they are also known to physically coil around their victims like a python and consume them whole so he’s not completely safe.

Its armor class is 17 and hit points 168. A hard beast to fight but not impossible.

Second is the Bulette

They are known as land sharks and are massive predators that live to feed. They are tunnelers digging underground and popping back up.

With an armor class of 17 and hit points of 94 they are hard to hit but easy to take down if you can get some hard hits in.

And finally you have the Tarrasque

Tarrasques are crazy with armor class of 25 and a hit point of 676. Almost nothing can hit them and even if you did you would barely damage them.

Like I almost don’t want to uses it because of how broken it is. The thing is 50 feet tall and is known for its legendary destruction. Like it might actually be to hard to fight.

What do you guys think. I really like the Behir or a Death Knight.

I want the crew to have to fight while Zoro is also going through it emotionally. His job is to protect the crew. But the crew is here because of him. Fighting one of the craziest things they’ve seen. It’s not going down no matter what they do. The crew is getting hurt.

And the person who called him here is acting like Zoro, and more importantly Zoro’s crew aren’t worth dirt because they are pirates. Normally Zoro wouldn’t care, but they came here because Zoro was honoring his teacher and his friends memory, and now Luffy and the others are in danger.

(Top this off with the realization of how Kuina died, and the person Koushiro actually is and it will be fantastic) (like I said I’m really starting to lean into “twist villain” Koushiro.
