Author summary:
Scott has stopped asking his mom when she’s going to take Dad’s key, not because he’s stopped wondering, but because the last time he asked, the lines around Mom’s face had tightened unhappily. “Your dad is trying, Scott,” Is what she’d said, like that was an answer. “I know you’re upset with him. But you could give him a chance.”
It’s funny how actually sticking around for a few days suddenly qualifies as trying.
(It’s funny how badly he wishes it actually meant anything at all.)
Reasons to love the fic: I love, love, love the way this is written. The way it weaves two scenes about Scott and fathers together is so fun. All of the relationships are so good. I love the sciles and the sheriff and stiles and the scott and sheriff and the scott and raf of it all. It's so real and raw. And the scallison of it. My heart was not ready.

Egg Cracking + Rarepair

It was fine, she was fine, nothing bad would happen. At least that's what reverberated through Zedaph's head for the past month since she'd moved in with Tango.
The two had managed to find a half decent apartment, one that even allowed pets, which she was thankful for even if neither of them currently had any.
But there was something at the back of her mind, bothering her constantly; Tango wasn't happy.
Which could be simple, there could be many reasons for Tango's unhappiness, but Zedaph was (at least among close friends) sometimes notoriously bad at overthinking things.
So here they stood, the sheep busy taking on her part of the chores – Tango had forgotten to fold the laundry for a full week… again… – in the living room while the netherborn cleaned the dishes in the attached kitchenette.
“Hey, Zed… do you– do you ever feel like you don't belong in your skin?” Tango says cautiously.
“What do you mean?” Zedaph asks, though something pulls and sounds so familiar to her ears. A feeling not yet said or revealed in full.
“Just– I don't know, like your reflection isn't yours? Not like– well maybe…” They go on. “Like you don't fit. Your body is wrong but like in some ways it's right.”
And there it was, bright as day and now left out in the open on a hanging thread.
She stood from the couch, walking over to Tango. “What exactly do you mean, Tango?”
They threw their lip, placing a plate onto a rack to dry.
“I don't– I don't know… that's the problem…” They say shyly. “You– I've been thinking about when you first came out to me and it– it almost sounded right but– but I don't– being a ‘man’ doesn't feel right… but neither does being a women…”
Zedaph places a hand on Tango's back then moves the other to his chin, forcing the netherborn to look at her.
“Everyone's feelings about gender are different, Tango.” She says gently. “Sometimes– sometimes it isn't even one to the other. Sometimes it's both or neither or everything under the sun.”
Tango blinks, confusion then crosses their face slowly as the meaning digs deeper.
“Wait, that's an option? Those are options?”
She can't stop herself from laughing at that, it’s well meaning but–
“I don't have to be either and no one told me?!”
“Yes?”
They back up, hands over their face and screaming like something's been released from their soul. A form of pain gone, replaced by confusion and some type of joy.
“Tango, Tango, are you okay?” Zedaph says through laughter.
“I'm just– I'm happy… I guess…”
“Good.” She tugs lightly on their hoodie. “Because I need you out of this.”
“Wow, at least take me to dinner first.”

“Tango, you’ve worn this for a year straight without washing it and it smells awful…”
“… fine…”

Happy 124th birthday to Al Capone!
(Sorry I am a bit late today, and I'm sorry the drawing is in pencil again! I got really sick. I have a lot of photos that I took, though! I'm super excited to show you guys)
124 years ago on January 17, 1899, Alphonse Gabriel Capone was born in Brooklyn, New York. In his yearly years, he lived with his mom, dad, and siblings at 95 Navy Walk.
I'm pretty sure Al went to school at either Public School 133 or Public School 7. It would make more sense for him to attend 133 because it's a 20-minute walk (nowadays) compared to 7 which is an over 2-hour walk. It would also make sense because, five minutes away, is Brownstone Bagels and Co., the rumored start-up hideout of Johnny Torrio.
I believe the story of Al hitting a teacher is true, with the context that he was fighting a kid over his stolen lunch ((a fight which the teacher was trying to break up) this version of the story is from Al Capone: His Life, Legacy, and Legend by Deirdre Bair, it's the one I find the most believable). I don't believe he left school, though, in Uncle Al Capone by Deirdre M. Capone, she states that Al "did earn a high school diploma. Contrary to what many biographers have written, Al Capone was a high school graduate. I have a photo of Al—the earliest photo of him that I am aware of—on the day he graduated from high school, and his father is sitting proudly beside him.”
The family then soon moved to three places on Garfield place: first 38 Garfield Place and then 21 and 46 on the same street. Al then moved to Chicago in 1919 and the rest of the family soon followed after him in I think August 1923.
I also want to include a horse shoe I found while walking about Garfield Place that was stuck in super old concrete (according to my dad). When looking at it, it made me think that one of the Capone boys put it there while fooling around as a kid. I don't have too many funny stories on Al like I do Ralph, so I hope you folks like this!

Ch196 spoiler, other Pomeranian kid
Idk what else to call him, though we might learn his name in this chapter. We saw him previously, when Doll first introduced the Pomeranian class; back then, he was reading from that copy of the Fenian Cycle. He's also got a Latin book.
Everyone seems to be drawn to him. People stop and stare at him, like he's a celebrity or a bit other-worldly. He seems to have such a winning personality. The girl stops crying, and he helps her feed the carrot to the horse.
He seems surprised by Snake and Finny, as if he recognizes them or notices something about them that really catches his attention. And, as he walks past Finny, he says something that catches Finny off-guard.
I really don't think F. O. L. Orphanage is simply meant to be reminiscent of Phantomhive Manor. I do believe that Finny and Snake have been there before, though it might have been called something else at the time. This Pomeranian kid might actually recall seeing Finny before.... 🤔
Either that or Finny simply introduces himself, and this kid makes a comment about the Finny standing there versus the Finny in the book? 🧐

Jan 17 - Baked a loaf of french bread, yum.
Jan 18 - Nothing special done today. Actually managed to drag myself out of bed at a reasonable time for once though. Brother on day shifts starting tomorrow, so I will likely get some stuff done over the next few days (due to lack of being perceived while doing so).
Now to go to bed at a reasonable time (again) in hopes I’ll actually go to sleep at a reasonable time (again) and wake up a a reasonable hour (again) with lots of hours still remaining in the day to Do Stuff.

I think Please Report Your Bug Here would be a great choice for aspiring teen tech billionaires. It was written by one of the first Instagram employees. However, mystery and thriller readers, like me, will leave disappointed. 3 stars.
