I remember being wary about how Optimus Primal was going to be portrayed in ROTB. My main concern was that he was going to be a boring cutout, but I'm happy to say that I was proven wrong. Spoilers and analysis below cut
What makes ROTB Optimus Primal work for me is that he still possesses many of the traits I associate with the munky queen.
It's very easy to see with how he introduces Amaru and explains his history with the tribe that he is a caring and loving. You also see this in how much he tries to prevent killing Airazor, but makes the decision that it has to be done. He definitely doesn't appear happy about the decision either, which makes sense considering how many Maximals are implied to have already perished.
It's fascinating how he's the one having to tell Optimus Prime about allying with humans. Despite the fact that I'm sure the two Optimi have had about the same quality/length of leadership experience, Optimus Primal seems wiser beyond his years than Optimus Prime is. This could be partially explained by Apelinq having to quickly relinquish the title of Maximal leader to Primal in order to get the Transwarp Key away from Unicron and his minions, but I'm sure there's other factors at play.
Despite this gentle nature and wisdom, Optimus Primal is willing to go apeshit on the battlefield if need be (pun intended). That scene in the final fight where he uses the wrecking ball to bash Battletrap's head in is such a perfect moment of seeing Primal unleash his inner ferocity and I love it.
I know many were disappointed that Garry Chalk didn't get the role. While I would've liked that too, I'm equally as happy to see Ron Perlman get a second chance at voicing Optimus Primal because he nailed it this time. It seems to prove my hypothesis that his mid performance as Optimus Primal in POTP was less an actor problem and more a voice direction/writing problem.
TL;DR My munky queen/ape dad was done justice in ROTB and I couldn't be more relieved and happy about it.

hey bestie. i was wondering if you knew how court records were made. bc i know today we have shorthand keyboards for that purpose, so i figured they had to have some form of writing down what was said in court fast enough to get everything written down accurately. i was specifically thinking of the Lee trial, if that helps. thanks a bunch ily /p 🫶🫶
Pretty similarly to what we have today, although it was moreso usually three clerks who wrote everything down. In average colonial life, County Clerk's were established to assist in the operation of the county court. The clerk kept track of cases heard by the court, issued writs and warrants, and recorded documents that were required by law to be filed with the county court. County clerks were appointed by the governor for indefinite terms during the colonial period. And they were appointed by the county justices under the 1776 Constitution, after 1790, they were appointed by the county court judges for a term of good behavior.
But in the military - where there wasn't a professional court setting in place - proceedings were written by those who were assigned to. More about court martials here. Records like original proceedings can often be found in orderly books or journals. [x] Although oftentimes records could be copied and altered with bias, like the Varick transcription. Copied by Richard Varick, they were copies of papers created during the American Revolution in Washington's hold. And he could sometimes dramatize things. Especially surrounding Lee's court martial and conduct on the battlefield with several contrasting descriptions. As Lender and Stone write;
The transcript of the court-martial of Major General Charles Lee is the best single source of information on the Battle of Monmouth. Used carefully and coor-dinated with other contemporary sources, the court-martial record has allowed us to present a coherent account of the fi ghting on the morning of 28 June 1778. There are several versions of the transcript, however, each with some minor differences. We have used a pri-vately printed version—Proceedings of a Court-Martial . . . for the Trial of Major-General Lee—from 1864, a reprint of the original that appears complete in all respects and is readily available to scholars.
Source — Fatal Sunday: George Washington, the Monmouth Campaign, and the Politics of Battle, by Mark Edward Lender, Garry Wheeler Stone · 2016
Which you can read right here. Hope this helps!

garries? 😂 what’s that
That's just me, annoyed with gatekeeping larries who will tell you straight up that you cannot call yourself a larrie if you think they fucked anyone but each other, if you aren't 10000% convinced they're married and together at this very moment, you have to think they never ever broke up or had an open relationship, and I'm sorry, but no, yeah, they were very much together a decade ago, but I have some inklings that it's fucking messy and AT BEST on again/off again now, which is absolutely normal. MEANWHILE, gaylors have it easier, if you're looking at Taylor Swift, the parallel there is kaylor, so if you're not a kaylor ride or die, you can say, wellll, at least I know she's not straight, I don't have to link it to a ship, I can say I'm a gaylor. But with larry? No such distinction, you have to say they're straight or they're married (or in some other relationship like xarry, zarry, narry, or dave), and i'm like, hey, justice for garries (i.e., they're gay, I don't know the actual specific status, but that's fine, at least I know they aren't straight)

Well, I never thought I’d find myself writing fanfic, as I’m more of an artist, but here I am. This being my first fic, I think I did alright, and as for the fic itself, I don’t see enough stories of Ib and Garry in more normal scenarios, so I thought I’d do them justice. I might do more stories about them in the future, but for now, I hope my fellow Ib fans enjoy this.
Also, if you're you enjoy the family dynamic between Ib and Garry then check out my Discord server: https://discord.gg/ZkuC7C7y
Summary: An afternoon of fun at the park with Ib and Garry quickly turns awry when Ib's stuffed rabbit suddenly disappears. Update: 8/25/2023 I decided to make a few modifications to my fic. The only really noticeable alterations made was how the beginning plays out, but other than that, I mostly just changed certain paragraphs to describe things better.
A cool breeze flowed through the leaves, accompanied by the gentle warmth of the sun. Flowers bloomed in various colors, and the trees- which had appeared practically lifeless due to the harsh winter- had now grown lush and green. In addition, many creatures were also in motion, from the birds that chirped their tunes to the bees that buzzed about. For many, this was certainly a time to be out and enjoy such a beautiful and lively atmosphere. And a certain nine-year-old girl and a young man, whom she met through rather unusual circumstances at a particular gallery, didn't want to miss out on this opportunity.
Garry had been so busy with his studies and working a few extra hours at his job that he hadn't been able to babysit or visit Ib for the past few weeks. Needless to say, he was relieved to leave such stress behind for the day and spend the Friday afternoon at the park with his young friend once the school day was over.
Ib and Garry spent most of the time strolling along the sidewalk and taking in the surrounding scenery until they eventually came across the playground. Garry had thought that Ib wanted to play with the other kids; however, she turned down the idea. It wasn't that she disliked playing, but the rambunctious and frenzied energy of the children was overwhelming. So they instead opted to rest on one of the nearby benches.
Once the two sat down, Ib reached into her backpack and pulled out a storybook and, surprisingly, a plush rabbit. Ib said that her name was “Mirabella," and it was relatively small compared to the other plushies Garry had seen in the past. And this one, in particular, sported a light pink dress that made it stand out. Ib explained that she had brought Mirabella along because the rabbit had insisted on joining them. While Garry found her claim a bit humorous, he was willing to play along if it meant making her happy. As Ib opened the first page of the illustrated book, she glanced up at Garry and requested that he read it to them. It wasn't the first time he'd read to her, so he was more than glad to do so, as he genuinely enjoyed reading these little tales.
"…But Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail had bread and milk and blackberries for supper." Garry said as he closed the book and chuckled. "I think I did a fine job with my narration. Wouldn't you agree?"
Ib nodded and smiled at him. He then looked down at the stuffed rabbit sitting beside her.
"And did Mirabella like it, too?" he asked, gently patting the stuffed bunny.
"Yeah," Ib said with a hint of laughter.
"Good," he said happily. "My, I'm feeling thirsty after all that walking around from earlier, aren't you?"
Ib's muffled "Uh-huh" prompted Garry to scan the area. "Pretty sure I saw a vending machine around here…" he said as he continued looking before he noticed it a bit off in the distance. "Ah, there it is!" he said, pointing to it.
"You wanna wait here?" he asked.
"Sure," she replied.
"Okay, want any soda or just water?"
"Water's fine."
"Alright, just stay right there, okay? I'll be back in a bit."
She gave him an affirmative nod and smiled as he walked away. Ib turned her attention to the pond a few feet away from her while she waited for him to return, watching the ducks swimming in it, observing them as they occasionally flapped their wings or dived into the water. Her focus slightly adjusted to the ground when she noticed a vivid green frog speeding over the pavement. Ib had never seen one so close; the little creature's bright color held her interest while it hopped around on the sidewalk. Her gaze followed it till it veered off the concrete and into the grass. She couldn't resist rising to see where it was going; when she got too close, it dashed to the pond's edge and disappeared into the water. She felt somewhat let down to see the little guy leave in a hurry, but at least she had something to tell Garry when he returned.
As she turned around to head back to the bench, she suddenly felt her heart skip a beat, now seeing the spot where she and her stuffed friend sat wholly vacant. Panicked, Ib rushed over to it and tried looking under the seat. No luck. She was positive that her plushie had been placed there. She made an effort to search among some of the adjacent trees but came up empty-handed.
"Where could you have gone?" she thought, her worry intensifying gradually.
Shifting her focus to the children still running around in the distance, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to head over to the play area to do a little investigating. It wasn't as if she would be straying too far, and she knew Garry would undoubtedly have a panic attack if she weren't in sight. She just had to look. And she wasn't going to let some brat take something that didn't belong to them. Glancing over, Garry seemed to still be casually standing there, waiting for other people to grab their beverages. With that, she made her way over to the playground.
As she began her search, she first focused on the jungle gym, where most children flocked. She watched carefully as the youngsters raced their way across it, some climbing across the monkey bars by grasping them one at a time, to those that scaled the rock climbing wall and descended from the slide. After a few minutes of careful observation, she realized that none of these kids had what she was looking for.
With only the swing set and sandbox left to check, she looked around once more. However, the results remained the same. Apart from two kids swinging back and forth on the swing set and a toddler playing with their mother in the sandbox, there was no sign of Mirabella anywhere.
With a sigh and her head hanging low, she reluctantly turned back to the bench. Her only option now was to wait for Garry's help; she only hoped whoever took her plush toy was still nearby and hadn't run off with it.
Just as she was about to sit back down, she caught a glimpse of a much taller figure in the distance, obscured by the trees, with something white dangling from their hand. Not a second later, Ib sprinted at the sight, and as she drew nearer, the unmistakable shape of her stuffed animal came into view.
"Wait!" She shouted.
The young man stopped in his tracks at the sound of her voice and turned to face her. Once Ib made it towards him, she was panting heavily, but seeing Mirabella in sight brought her relief.
"Uh, what do you want?" he asked, irritated.
Looking up at him, Ib suddenly found herself unable to speak. The teen appeared anything but friendly, from his ripped and ragged attire to the slight scowl he gave her, was enough for her to realize that this probably wasn't going to go as well as she had hoped. All she could do now was look for words that wouldn't irritate him any further.
"Well, what is it?" he asked once more.
"U-um," she stuttered, "t-that bunny is mine..."
He glanced down at the doll and scoffed. "This is yours? You still play with wittle bunny dolls?" he said, sneering at Ib.
Ib looked down at her feet in an attempt to hide her reddened cheeks. Although this wasn't the first time she'd been criticized for still playing with toys at the age of nine, she didn't understand what the harm was. It didn't mean she was immature; if anything, she was very well-behaved compared to most her age.
"Tell you what, I'll give it back… after I have a little fun with it." he said with a smirk.
Ib did not like the sound of that, as he placed one hand on top of the toy's head with the other on its torso, giving it a slight tug. The very thought of what he was going to do next made Ib feel increasingly anxious, sending her heart pounding at an accelerated pace.
"You see, kid, I take any opportunity I get to grab whatever I want, and when I do, I like to... make improvements."
Now she knew for certain what he was planning.
"N-no!" Ib cried.
"You want it so badly? Come get it!" With a sudden yank, the plush toy was torn in two, its stuffing quickly descending to the ground, followed by its head and torso. Such a terrible sight made Ib fall to her knees in shock. Time seemed to stand still as she stared at the pieces of her beloved toy. Before she knew it, she felt a stream of tears sliding down her cheeks as she started sobbing quietly. The teen's laughter at the sight of her misery was audible, and she could tell this very much amused him. Why he decided to act so cruelly toward her was beyond her understanding.
To Ib, this wasn't just any stuffed toy; it meant so much more to her. For as many bunnies as she owned (gifted mainly by her father), she treated them with the same level of care as if they were her real friends, even giving each of them a name. Throughout her young life, she struggled to form bonds with other kids, so those stuffed friends of hers were all that she had to fill that emptiness. And now she sat in utter despair at the sight of one of them destroyed.
As she continued crying, the laughter came to an abrupt stop. A familiar voice called out her name, followed by footsteps charging in her direction and the teen's aggravated shouts. Blinking through her teary vision, she could make out a figure wearing a dark blue coat as he confronted the person she presumed to be the same one who destroyed her doll. The angry exchanges between them rang in her ears, escalating from verbal conflict to a full-on fight within moments. Wiping her tears away, she saw that her suspicions were correct.
"Garry!"
Garry glanced down at her, only to be struck in the face by his opponent’s fist, sending him back a few steps. He barely had a moment to react before he was met with a second punch to his stomach. The vicious blow forced Garry to his knees, gasping for breath. As he sat there clutching his abdomen, Garry's head was yanked up by his hair, and as a final assault, he felt a knee smash into his face from his attacker. Ib watched in horror as her friend helplessly lay there writhing in agony. She desperately wanted to help him, but her fears prevented her from moving even a single muscle.
The enraged teen made a sudden turn to face her, rage visible in his eyes. "You.. .you knew he'd come, didn't you?" he snarled.
Ib shook her head frantically, "No! I didn't-"
"Liar!" he spat. "Looks like you need to be taught a lesson too."
He began to advance towards Ib, his intent clear in his eyes. Ib instinctively took a few steps back as he drew nearer, only to trip over a stray root. In an instant, his hand clamped onto her collar, hoisting her from the ground and pinning her against a tree, causing her to yelp. Ib's eyes widened as she found herself face-to-face with him. While she didn't dare speak, her eyes begged him for mercy, but she could see nothing but the desire to harm her. Now that they were isolated from others, she knew that nobody would come to her rescue.
As she closed her eyes tightly and turned her head away to brace herself for the inevitable pain, she suddenly felt the man's hold on her quickly release, making her land hard on the ground. When she opened her eyes, she saw Garry grappling with her attacker as he promptly pushed him flat on his back. Instantly, Garry's fist connected with his face. He clearly hit the teen pretty hard as he cried out in pain, but was soon cut off as Garry delivered another strike to him. The next thing Ib knew, Garry's fists were a blur as he mercilessly pounded the man’s face. She sat there in shock and disbelief as she watched him; she had seen him angry before, but this... this wasn't like him at all. For once, she felt frightened of Garry, the same person who had always seemed so kind and gentle. It made her question for a moment if this were the same person she had grown close to in the few months they'd known each other.
"G-Garry…?" Ib said faintly.
Garry showed no sign of stopping. With each blow he landed, his fists grew increasingly stained with red, and Ib dreaded the thought of what might happen if she let this go on. Even if it was all out of a desire to protect her, the man seemed to have given up attempting to shield himself as Garry continued to pummel him. She knew she had to intervene somehow.
Taking a deep breath, she managed to muster enough strength to shout, "Garry, stop!"
Garry turned to Ib as he was about to raise his fist once more. Seeing how distressed she was, he snapped back to reality and slowly lowered his arm. As he sat over the young man, panting, he saw the amount of damage he had done to his face and felt somewhat regretful for his actions. With a sigh, he grabbed him by his shirt and glared directly at him.
"If I ever see you near Ib again, you'll be sorry," he said, shoving the man back to the ground and proceeding to get up.
Not a second later, the teen quickly got to his feet and staggered off. All the while, Garry stood there and watched, making sure that monster was as far away from them as possible. Once he could no longer see him, he turned to Ib. She was still a bit shaken up by his actions from earlier, making him feel worse than he already did.
"I'm sorry you had to see me like that," he said, feeling too ashamed to look at her. "I… I was just so worried about him hurting you; I just lost it…"
Ib's expression softened. Despite how he had acted out earlier, she couldn't blame him entirely for it. She knew how protective he could be sometimes. However, part of her wondered if he had been in conflicts like this before, but she didn't dare ask as it wasn't her business to know.
Looking at the crimson droplet slowly trickling down from Garry's nose, Ib felt an immediate rush of guilt. Realizing all of this was because of her absent-mindedness. She had always been taught by her mother to take care of her things, and now, the one time she forgets, she and her friend were put in danger.
"It's my fault..." she muttered.
This took Garry aback. "Wha? Ib, you didn't-"
"I got distracted and left Mirabella behind, and he took her," She interrupted, tears growing in her eyes once more.
"I'm sorry, Garry..."
Garry knelt down and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. I know you didn't mean for this to happen." He lifted her head by her chin to face her. "Look, you just gotta keep an eye on your stuff next time. Okay?" Ib nodded and brushed her tears away, followed by a hug from Garry, hoping to put her at ease.
Once Ib had finally relaxed, Garry stood up and picked up the two halves of her doll. "I think I can sew her back up," he said as he examined it closely.
"Really?" Ib asked as her eyes lit up.
"Yeah, I think I have enough thread to do so. And I'll be sure to give her back once she's fixed."
Hearing that gave her a sense of comfort. Provided Garry had fulfilled his promise to return her handkerchief a few months before, she was confident he'd also go through with this.
"For now, why don't we grab some macarons?" Garry said with a smile and wrapped an arm around Ib. "You've had a rough day; you deserve something nice."

Transformers and GI Joe story idea.
Heyo.
So, given Skybound's current Transformers and GI Joe comics are out now...and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Transformers, I figured I'd share my idea for a Transformers Legacy and GI Joe Classified story.
I should point out that, while not important, Rom and the Micronauts do exist in this story.
This initial post is for Transformers. GI Joe will be in the reblog.
Okay. So some build up.
1: This is set in the present day.
2: Optimus Prime (a fusion of the Peter Cullen Primes (G1/G2, movie, and Aligned), thus sharing their forms and abilities through the Reconfiguration Matrix) is retired from active service. Most of the 1984-86 cast are retired, actually. Optimus is done. He can’t take the constant pressure of the war and the guilt it gives him. Instead, he does his own justice.
3: The war was thought to be over, however, that hasn't stopped some from trying to start it again. That said, some characters, like Soundwave (heavily inspired by his IDW counterpart), are helping with making sure the conflict is minimal. Most of the Decepticon cast don't want another war, actually.
4. Characters who gained more prominence in the later shows, like the Unicron Trilogy, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory characters for example, are here too (though some have to be renamed to not make things confusing). This includes the humans.
5. Garry Chalk Optimus Prime, who still leads his respective Autobots, is reimagined as this universe’s Primus (the Transformers creator). The David Cage Megatron is reimagined as Unicron.
6. The Primus of this Legacy-inspired story will be based on certain forms of UT Optimus. Unicron is a mix of Armada Megs and Unicron. I know it's probably lame in comparison to Primus, but Armada Megatron had the best design.
7: Car Robots Optimus and Magnus is here, but as an original character named in their Japanese names. BOTH are female, inspired by the only canonical female Optimus that was sadly only a recolor of Car Robots Optimus..and not an original design.
8: EACH iteration of Transformers occurs as if it happened on the day of its release. For example, the 1986 film occurs in 1986, not the year 2005 as stated in the film. Of course, certain things are changed in order to not make this a mess.
9: Optimus Prime is a character who dares to challenge and surpass fate and destiny at any opportunity he gets. For example, he survives his 1986 encounter with Megatron...and uses the Matrix to resurrect everyone who died in the event.
Main Story
Part 0: So, this whole thing started as a mix of the cartoons, while slowly became more IDW and movie-verse like, much to the dismay of Optimus and some of the Autobots. During an All Hail Megatron-inspired event, Thundercracker leaves and berates Soundwave before doign so, leaving the communications officer stunned by the seeker's courage.
Soundwave then goes through every event that's been cataloged in the base's files, before realizing just how far the Decepticon dream has fallen. He usurps Megatron shortly after and brings him to the Autobots, taking command of the Decepticons after a brutal fight with Starscream.
Megatron is found to be suffering from extreme insanity, which is treated during his prison sentence. With that, in the year of 2014 (30 years after the Transformers' initial arrival on Earth), the war is officially brought to an end.
Then in 2019, a new generation of Decepticons emerge (lead by Starscream), before forced to retreat after the arrest of their leader. And with that, most of the 1980s cast chose to retire after Optimus and Rodimus step down as Autobot commanders. The war remains ongoing, but on a smaller scale.
Part 1: The plot surrounds the Autobots (ALL of them) as they attempt to repel the new wave of Decepticons (should point out that some former members have either changed sides, become unaffiliated, or (like Optimus Prime) retired. Frank Welker Megatron is an example of the last one). Not sure what reasons this new generation of Decepticons will have, other than that they're more aligned with Unicron.
A few major members escape. Others surrender. Unicron begins to manipulate the future to further his schemes, as he's realizing who and what he and Primus truly are. Primus knows who he is and what he must do, but the Matrix is sacrificed to give the god his answers.
Part 2: The Maximals and Predacons arrive to present day from the future. The Predacons wish to change their future, while the Maximals wish to preserve it. Unlike most retellings of the Beast Wars, both sides are fighting a just cause, but for different reasons, which causes friction. The Autobots and Decepticons are in the background this time, working to rebuild after the short-lived second Great War, but a few provide major supporting roles (like Primus and Peter Cullen Optimus).
Primus manages to diffuse tensions, successfully getting the Maximals and Predacons to work together and change their future for the best. He and Unicron are seriously injured, nearly causing a paradox. Primus is upgraded to the form I described, before traveling back in time (with an imprisoned Unicron) to meet The One (the creator of the TF multiverse and Primus and Unicron) and restore history as a result.
Part 3: 11 of the original Transformers (the 13 Primes) come back to life and attempt to bring back the Golden Age. However, their views are significantly warped after what lead to their downfall. The Autobots, Decepticons, and their descendants unite to stop them, no matter the cost. Optimus also restores the Matrix in response to this plight, becoming its bearer once more and reborn into his former glory. Five members of the 13 also join, realizing how misguided they've become.
They are Nexus, Vector, Alpha Trion, Alchemist, and Micronus. Speaking of the OG Primes, the four Guiding Hand members (excluding Primus obviously) and Logos Prime are instead treated as students/successors to the 13. The Last Autobot is instead the codename for Teletraan 1's Ark robot mode.
Optimus and Megatron are revealed to be the Thirteenth and Megatronus respectively, having been reincarnated, thus retaining NO memories of their past. Optimus meets Nova Prime (his father in this story) and Sentinel Prime after a near-death experience, both encouraging him to continue living and fighting for what he believes is right.
Part 4: Unicron (in his present day form) arrives to Earth, while Primus returns from present day Cybertron to protect his home and family. This final battle between the gods is played like a tribute to every final battle in the franchise, as well as a tribute to the mecha genre (as Mazinger Z and Great, the old and new Getter teams, the two first titular Gundams, and Brave Exkaiser and Gaogaigar join in), with Primus as the victor. BOTH die, which gives the Transformers a chance to live without having to worry about the gods' feud.
The escaped Decepticons, still loyal to Unicron, attempt to use the Nemesis to destroy the Autobots. Primus lends Optimus his power, allowing him the strength to destroy the Nemesis by using the Ark. With all threats gone, Optimus dies peacefully. The Matrix is passed to Optimus Primal and the Maximals and Predacons head back to their now-changed time period.
Might give this Optimus Prime an epilogue/retirement story where he travels the multiverse and meets other Optimus Primes, as well as make the whole Thirteenth Prime connection even stronger, besides the simple reincarnation.

Twist of a tale
In this universe it's quick different.....this works like another thing
Since I feel like I may get some of a lot of it wrong about Undertale it's a twisted version
It's a new version of Undertale but the story is twisted
Characters have the same emotions of there Undertale characters but have some of it changed 25% same and 75 % different
The twist part of it:
Undertale is a universe that has a lot in it....fun, happiness, and also sadness, and depth. With Twist of a tale it's diffent it changes some stuff about Undertale and twists it
How I like it:
This version of Undertale is due to my imagination, strangeness, and silliness and is not supposed to be a thing where in Underswap monsters have swapped roles and the story is the same. In this place the roles are changed and the story is not the same close but....not the same. The personality is not a lot. And the imagination of Undertale is good but the imagination of mine is crazy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The roles twisted:
Roles are now changed and now are like more of a different thing. Since this is a diffenly universe there are more characters involved
Frisk- The 9th Human and the Puppeteer
Mad dummy- The famous Hunter and the unreasonably
Asgore- The Royal angel
River Person- The one who knows
Chara- The guardian
Asriel- The Greed and the Hidden
Mettaton- The Killer hunter
Gaster- The hidden
Toriel- The caretaker
Napstablook- The engineer
Papyrus- The shopkeeper and the business guy
Dummy- The loner
Grillby- The Fire hunter
Muffet- The over priced person
Sans- The Shopkeeper
UNDYNE- The lost justice
Alphys- The brilliant
Some names are changed:
Grillby- Roman
Mettaton- Mettaton the fabulous
Papyrus- Same but GREAT
Dummy- Garry
Mad dummy- * Keep secret because if I found out he would end me *
@the-excellent-papyru
Maps
Ruins- The isles
Snowdin- BLOCK HOME
Waterfall- The Floodlands
Hotlands: Heat towers
Core- The Head
New home- Royal district council ( RDC )
Changes
This will probably be longer than the original Undertale
There are many original characters...MANY
There are new weapons and armors
Frisk and every other human have different souls now ;)
Ask boxes ( For now ) may change later
Frisk
Toriel
Asgore
Sans
And Grillby

Note
my huge fixation on the rats has come back again so out of curiosity, what are some of your favorite tracks, and why?
Oh man sorry it took me so long to answer this! It ended up being harder than I thought to narrow down a list of my favorite songs but here’s (some) of my current faves at least!
Lookin’ After No. 1 - A bit of a cliched inclusion but it’s still (imo) the best example of their early punk/post-punk sound, and you can really hear how well Garry and Simon meshed with their playing. Plus I’m an utter sap and it makes me very emotional to think of Bob going from writing “Don’t give me love thy neighbor / Don’t give me charity” to. yknow. putting on the entirety of Live Aid.
(Also don’t eVEN talk to me about the Music Machine gig, every time I think of Bob singing “Don’t wanna be like you / Don’t wanna live like you / Don’t wanna talk like you at all / I’m gonna be like me” in the face of the neo-nazi skinheads who just punched him in the face I go INSANE)
Joey’s On The Streets Again - Look I know that if we’re picking “Top songs Bob wrote about the Ireland of his childhood” then Rat Trap is understandably always gonna be at the top of the list but consider: Joey is just a better song, especially the last verse of it.
Also the Self Aid Joey performance? SO FUCKING GOOD genuinely my favorite live performance of this song that they’ve ever done
Wind Chill Factor Minus Zero - The lyrics just do it for me. I feel like a lot of people don’t think of Bob Geldof as a great lyricist but he really is and this song is just full of little clever lines like “You start to laugh (No) / You say you’ve won (No) / It’s just I lost (No) / That’s not the same (No)” that just make it SO satisfying to sing!
Also gotta put a shout out to “Real Different” for the same reason, every time I hear Bob sing “I'll fill my pocket full of stones and I'll throw 'em at the light” I just go feral asldkfjals
The Elephant’s Graveyard - You know that quote about (I Never Loved) Eva Braun that describes the song as something like the happiest most upbeat song about Hitler you’ll ever hear? The Elephant’s Graveyard is exactly like that but for police brutality and the Rats fucking made it work.
Obviously if we’re talking about social justice themes in their songs Mondays and Banana Republic are gonna top the list but listen. Listen. Bob wrote a song specifically about anti-black police brutality in Florida that calls out the double-standards of the US justice system (“Justice isn’t blind / It just looks the other way”), made the campiest beach-themed music video for it, and somehow they completely nailed the combination.
House on Fire - IT’S JUST A FUCKING BANGER OF A SONG! Seriously between the brass instruments and Bob’s voice it’s just such a fun and funky song, and it’s a great example of the Rats playing around with their sound in their later albums in a way that just works perfectly for them.
Also it has more good mouth-feel lyrics in it, like the line “Doing halo hula-hoops, executing loop-de-loops / Takes a lot of skill and bad taste” is just sooo satisfying to sing !!!
Trash Glam Baby - Obligatory COB inclusion alksdjfklas I almost went with She Said No instead but they really nailed that old-school rock sound with Trash Glam Baby and I absolutely adore it. I love the little references at the start of the song, I love the reprise at the end, the video absolutely fucks, this was everything I needed from 21st Century Rats and more!
Do The Rat / D.U.N. L.A.O.G.H.A.I.R.E. - Because I couldn’t pick just one, special shout-out to both Do The Rat and D.U.N. L.A.O.G.H.A.I.R.E. for being fantastic b-side tracks! I love that Bob and the rest of the band were having fun fooling around with their releases like this. I love all the puns in Do The Rat, and the little convo at the start of D.U.N. L.A.O.G.H.A.I.R.E. both makes me laugh and makes me a little emotional now that Garry’s gone.

Britain has the most draconian prison system in western Europe. Recent deaths in police custody have increased public consciousness of state violence and its relationship to institutional racism and sexism. And yet we are still often oblivious to the inherently harmful and too often fatal consequences of imprisonment that affect our most vulnerable people beyond the scrutiny of the general public.
Last year, 371 people in England and Wales died in prison behind closed doors – the highest death toll since records began. Yet, despite this, there has been near silence on the issue. On the few occasions when prison deaths have garnered attention on a national scale, they have often been dismissed and even rationalised on account of the status of those who die as prisoners – as if they deserved what was coming to them.
People in prison are some of the most marginalised in society, with experiences of institutional care, homelessness, educational disadvantage, addiction, mental and physical ill health, and abuse, underpinned by poverty and inequality. Many have been failed by other statutory agencies before entering the criminal justice system.
What is clear is that deaths in police custody and in prison are two sides of the same coin. Both occur at the hands of the same criminal justice system that disproportionately polices, prosecutes and imprisons the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people, and are most sharply felt across the intersections of race, gender, disability and class.
Across successive governments, prison expansion has become a de facto policy. In 2021, the government outlined plans for the biggest prison-building programme in England and Wales in more than 100 years. It would raise the prison population to close to 100,000 by 2026.
This latest project fits neatly into a broader historic move towards punitivism. In the last 30 years alone, the prison population in England and Wales has ballooned by 70%, with Britain having the highest imprisonment rate in western Europe.
Official statistics provide useful quantitative analysis of deaths in prison, but they can obscure the human stories behind them.
Tommy Nicol was a 37-year-old mixed-race Middle Eastern man who was being held under an indeterminate imprisonment for public protection sentence. He took his own life in 2015, six years after he was jailed on a minimum four-year tariff.
Sarah Reed was a 32-year-old mixed-race Black woman who was remanded to prison for the sole purpose of obtaining psychiatric reports. Her mental health worsened severely in prison and she was treated as a discipline problem.
Mohammed Afzal was a 22-year-old man of Pakistani background who lost almost a third of his body weight during his 48 days in prison.
Garry Beadle was a 36-year-old white man on remand with a history of mental ill health and was briefly homeless. He told an officer he was a suicide risk, but the officer did not fully record this. He died after only six days in prison.
Thokozani Shiri was a 21-year-old Black man with HIV/Aids. Prison healthcare failed to provide him with life-saving antiretroviral medication during two periods of imprisonment. He told a prison officer: “I can’t breathe … I need to go to hospital,” but an ambulance was not called until five days later. While he was in an induced coma, prison staff restrained him with handcuffs.
An 18-year-old mother gave birth on her own in prison without medical assistance. Her child, Baby A, died, with a pathologist unable to determine if they were born alive or stillborn.
These tragedies reflect recurring issues arising from deaths in prison. Prisons, by their very nature, are dehumanising places that create and intensify vulnerability to violence and premature death.
The poor standard of mental and physical healthcare, ignored risk warnings, a failure to implement suicide prevention plans, the overuse of segregation, and slow emergency responses – as well as indefensible levels of neglect and despair – are problems that cut across all deaths in prison.
Our latest report reiterates that the deaths of racialised people in prison are among some of the most violent, contentious and neglectful of all prison deaths, with racial stereotyping and the hostile environment surfacing as specific issues. The death of Baby A and condition of countless women in prison demonstrate the broader systemic neglect of women’s health.
A constant stream of prison inspectorate reports, inquiries and inquest findings have produced rigorous, evidence-based recommendations to protect the health and safety of prisoners. However, these have been systematically ignored.
Families engage in post-death processes with the aim of ending preventable and premature deaths and seeing meaningful change.
And yet we see similar deaths repeated with depressing regularity, often in the same prison. This raises questions about the lamentable complacency around accountability at all levels of the Prison Service and government.
Prison is an expensive intervention that does not work, as demonstrated by high re-conviction rates. It fails prisoners, victims and communities. Instead of protecting the public from harm, it in fact perpetuates the cycle of harms and deaths. The morally indefensible tide of prison deaths, and the contentious nature of so many of them, reveals the intrinsic problems of the system.
To prevent future deaths, we must immediately halt prison-building, dramatically reduce the prison population and redirect resources from the criminal justice system to welfare, housing, education and health and social care. Through holistic investment in communities, we could address the root causes of crime and violence.
To build the public pressure required to do this, we need the public to stand with us in shining a light behind the closed doors of prisons, and speaking out about the deaths of people in their care. Say their names, and stand with their families for justice and change.
