summary: reader is sick and Dick decides to stay and take care of him.

After a long and tiring night of work, you finally manage to leave and return home, to the comfort of your bed, however, what you didn't count on was a sudden change in the weather and a day that was sunny and warm, ended up becoming cold and rainy.

You walk through the streets completely soaked and disheveled, with the cold wind battering your face and chest. You try to walk as fast as you can, and finally, you reach your shared apartment with your boyfriend Dick.

You quickly took off your wet clothes and took a hot shower, eating everything you could find before going straight to bed, you were exhausted.

~ cut time ~

You wake up feeling awful, your entire body aching, hot, with a headache, and feeling nauseous. "Oh no," you think to yourself, "this can't be happening," as the thought of being sick had not crossed your mind, and you couldn't afford to miss work.

You try to get up, but fail miserably. "No, no, no," you whisper to yourself, "I can't be sick right now." Suddenly, the door to the bedroom opens, and you see Dick, your boyfriend, enter the room.

"Is everything okay?" Dick asks as he approaches you and pulls you into a hug. Suddenly, he draws back, exclaiming, "Oh crap, you're burning up!" He goes on to say, "I knew that rain you caught yesterday wouldn't do you any good. Don't move from here, I'll go get the thermometer." Before you know it, he's racing out of the room and towards the bathroom to grab the thermometer.

You make another attempt to get up, only to fail again. Your whole body ached. After a while, you finally give up and settle back onto the bed, awaiting Dick's return.

When he finally returns, he is holding a thermometer in one hand. "Here, take it, you must be sick," he says, as he approaches you. "Crap, I can't get sick, I have to work," you reply.

"Don't worry, I'll call your boss and tell him that you're sick and can't come in today. He'll understand." Dick says, before sitting down next to you and taking the thermometer. "Here, take this." Dick says, handing you the thermometer. You take it, place it in your mouth, and after a few minutes, it beeps.

"37.08°C!!" Dick exclaims. "Crap, your temperature's really high. Stay here, I'll go get the medicine." Before you can respond, he's running out of the room towards the bathroom and opening the cabinet to get the medicine box.

After a while, Dick returns with a glass of water and some pills in his hand. 'Here, take this,' he says, offering the pill to you. He continues, 'This will help lower your fever.' You reluctantly get up, take the pill, and wash it down with the glass of water to help it go down.

"Thanks," you say, making a slight face, before settling back into bed and pulling the sheets up over you. Suddenly, you feel the bed sink from the other side, and moments later, a pair of strong arms pull you close. It's Dick.

"What are you doing?" you ask, groggily, your voice raspy. "Helping my boyfriend feel better," Dick replies, with a smile. "Dick, you don't have to-" you begin, but Dick cuts you off by pulling you closer. "I insist," he says. "Besides, we can spend some quality time together. We haven't had a moment like this in a while," he adds, pulling you even closer.

"Thank you, I don't know what I'd do without you. You're the best boyfriend in the world." you say with a smile, causing Dick to let out a light laugh. "Get some rest," he says, placing a soft kiss on your head. "I'll be here by your side if you need anything. Love you."

The warmth of your bodies combining to create a comfortable and warm environment, you simply smile and begin to relax. so, in no time at all, you and Dick drift off into a deep sleep, snuggled up against each other. Without a doubt, he truly is 'the best boyfriend in the world'.

Warnings: Tamlin being a douche

Rhys has been more paranoid since you and Feyre both started showing. The revelation of both you being pregnant excited and frightened him at the same time. Causing his over protective mate instincts to kick in. The two of you had tried to get him to rest knowing he had a High Lords meeting coming. But the stubborn male insisted he was fine.

A few times when you got up to pee in the middle of the night - a new routine thanks to your pregnancy - you found Rhys wide awake. He would watch over you and Feyre like a hawk until he fell asleep sitting up.

Yesterday Rhys had insisted he could skip the meeting and just stay with the two of you. It was a day long battle for a compromise. “Rhysand. We will be fine here with Amren watching over us and Nyx.” Feyre said sternly as Rhys came to tell you he changed his mind about your plans, again.

He shook his head vehemently, “Nope. I need to be here.” You rubbed at the bridge of your nose, squeezing your eyes shut and willing your mate to go away. “What will it take to get you to go to this meeting?” You sighed out.

Feyre perked up, wiggling her fingers, “Oh, I have an idea! What if we come with you. Helion can have a room for us, Cass, Az, and Mor will be there, it’ll be so easy.”

You could tell Rhys was considering it from the pensive look on his face. And he didn’t immediately shut Feyre down.

He nodded, mumbling out ‘I’ll think about it’ before heading back to his office.

You shoot Feyre a knowing look, “You just want those bonbons Helion gets.” “Yes! I’ve been craving them for months. And I want them fresh, not in a box.”

Snuggling up next to your mate on the couch you place a hand on her bump. Feyre does the same to you, resting her forehead against yours. “I don’t blame you,” you giggle out, “I’m happy I get to experience this with you Fey. Even if Rhys is being a mother hen.” She lightly pecked your lips. “Me too y/n/n. I love you”

Thankfully Rhys had agreed to you two coming along to the Day Court and you’d spend the night. Winnowing took a lot of energy from you and Feyre, so Rhys was adamant about you two resting as much as possible.

Before leaving you all gave Nyx hugs and kisses. He would stay with Elain and Nesta while you were gone. He hated when you left but enjoyed his time with Aunty Lain.

Winnowing to the Day palace Helion was waiting to greet you. “You’re the first to arrive.” He said cheerfully. The two High Lords shook hands as Helion guided your little group inside. Cassian offered his arm to Feyre while Az offered you his.

“I set up a very comfortable room for you two to relax in. No meeting for you, I’m sure there’s enough stressful things around you these days.” He says, eyeing Rhys. “Thank you Helion.” You say sweetly. “And you got our snack requests?” Feyre asks.

Helion throws his head back, laughing at her blunt question. “Of course I did. You’ll find you are well stocked on any foods your hearts desire.” You and Feyre smile at each other knowing you’re about to have the best snack and relax sesh.

You walked Rhys to the meeting room, like you promised, before leaving him. He takes one of your hands in his, giving you both a loving look. “Do you need anything? What can I do for you before everyone gets here?” “Nothing my love.” Feyre says softly. You bring a hand up to caress his cheek, “We’re just fine baby. You focus, do your thing and help Prythian, yeah?”

He gives you and Feyre a quick kiss before Helion’s personal guard escorts you to your rooms.

Opening the door your senses are overwhelmed by the scent of the sweet treats spread out for you. You and Feyre look at each other licking your lips in excitement. You wasted no time sprawling out on the lounges, digging into whatever was in arms reach.

Hours later Rhys, Cass, Az, and Mor joined you. Rhys was overjoyed to see you two after being separated. “You should’ve seen him when Kal asked where you were. He snarled.” Cassian teases as Rhys nudges his way to sit between you and Feyre. “I did not.”

Mor rushed over to you, lightly placing a hand on each of your bellies. “How are both Mor juniors doing.” You giggle at the blonde, “They have been perfect little angels.”

“No discomfort, extreme fatigue, or -“ “Rhys, we were fine.” Feyre cuts him off. He seems to relax at that. The tension in his shoulders loosening as he bats Mor away so he can feel the babes kick. Rhys lets out a breathy laugh as little feet push against his palms. “Hi angels, did you miss daddy?” Two more kicks in response.

The babes love the sound of Rhys’s voice. Like with Nyx, he talks to them every night. It doesn’t matter if you and Feyre are awake or asleep, he will always make time for the babes.

“Don’t forget,” Azriel speaks up from his spot in an armchair. He’s picking at a bowl of chocolates you hadn’t gotten to yet. “We have dinner in about an hour with everyone.” Rhys wasn’t pleased by the reminder. Something tells you that he was never going to tell you and Feyre about dinner.

Feyre stands, pulling you with her. “We will go get ready then.” She says happily.

You exit the bedroom with a few minutes to spare. Feyre chose a glittering black dress that hung off her shoulders. She decided to leave her crown behind for the night, putting her hair half up with small braids meeting in the middle.

You had decided on a midnight blue dress specked with pearls. The flowing fabric on both your dresses not hiding the fact that you’re pregnant. Rhys eyed the two of with lust sparkling in those iridescent violet irises.

He offers you each an arm to walk down to dinner. Rhys walks at slow pace for the two of you. When Feyre noticed she rolled her eyes and you both pulled him along. When the six of you enter the grand dining room you feel eyes on you. Thankfully not autumn ones. Azriel told you Beron and his court left after the meeting was over. Very typical of Beron to come and complain then leave, making no effort to improve court relations.

Viviane and Thesan shriek in excitement at the sight of you. “Congratulations! How did I not know?” She said excitedly. “When are you due?” Thesan asks immediately after her. The pair continue their onslaught of questions as you answered before the next question came up.

Out of the corner of your eye you could see Tamlin tensing. Clearly unhappy about the topic of conversation. Feyre and Rhys caught on to his unhappiness as well. Feyre tried to change the topic, asking Thesan about how things were going with his lover.

Tamlin and Rhys made uncomfortable eye contact. The males looked like they were about to jump across the table at each other. Rhys pulled your chair closer to him so you’d be away from Tamlin. He was across the table diagonal from you. It’s not like you were that close him but if it made Rhys feel better.

“Do you have something you’d like to say, Tamlin?” Rhys snapped. The High Lord of Spring scoffs, a wicked smirk on his face. “Well I just think it quite odd they’re both pregnant. Why on earth would you want two more.”

Everyone stopped speaking, looking anywhere but at them. Even you and Feyre looked at the table. You could tell she was fuming about Tamlin’s joking tone. “Is that an insult about my son? Or perhaps you’re angry about your situation. If you need to talk about it I’m sure you can find someone who will listen.” Rhys gave him a fake smile and went back to his meal.

Conversation slowly started up again. Tamlin excused himself, only saying goodbye to Helion before stepping out into the hallway to winnow home.

Once back in your rooms for the evening Rhys had you and Feyre cuddled up on either side of him. “Thank you for standing up for our family.” Feyre whispered. “I always will darling. You’re the most important people in the whole world to me.”

You let out a yawn and snuggle close to Rhys. “Let’s get some sleep. This little angel is kicking me for some shut eye.” “This one too.” Feyre yawns out. “Awww, I’m sorry I’m keeping your mommy’s up.” Rhys whispers. He kisses both of your bumps as you drift off.

you groaned, pulling your pillow over your ears as the sound of your alarm blared through the room. you had barely managed to fall asleep, considering the events of yesterday lingered in your mind. as you embraced yourself in the warmth of your blankets, it was suddenly stripped off your body, a cold front spread through your body. "get up y/n you're already late!" your mother chirped, as you internally swore from how cold you felt. trying to warm yourself up, you looked at your mother, who looked slightly irritated from your reluctance to wake up. "oh my goodness, why is it so cold this morning?" you shivered, trying to find something to help you stay warm. "what are you talking about y/n? it's the middle of spring!" your mother said, before leaving you alone in your room.

as you walked down to your class, your face felt warm and stuffy, feeling like you were going to sneeze any moment. after endless nagging, you gave in to your mother who forced you to go to school. your hands rubbed your arms, attempting to generate some sort of heat for your freezing body. you sniffed loudly, slightly coughing as you slumped onto your seat next to riki. sighing, you folded your arms on the desk, resting your head on top. your head felt like it was spinning, like you were going to faint. you felt a slight tap on your shoulder. you turned, your eyes meeting riki's.

"hey are you ok?" he asked, looking concerned at your dishevelled state. "yeah i'm fine," you mumbled, not wanting to look at him any longer. you felt your heart race, thinking about him, your cheeks slightly heating. "oh my god I think I like him…" you muttered under your breath. "hm? did you say something?" riki turned to you, your words incoherent to him. as you were going to speak, you felt an uncomfortable sensation, in your nose. before you could react, you sneezed. your face turned red in embarrassment, as you felt some of your snot dangling from your nose. you quickly hid your face, turning even redder from riki's gaze on you.

"bless you! you want some tissues?" he stood up, worried for you. you stopped him. "no it's ok i'll get them," you said before quickly standing up. you shakily walked to the front of the class, grabbing some tissues from the box. your head felt like it was pounding, as you blew your nose and threw it in the bin. on your way back to your desk, you bumped into a chair causing you to fall. your face was met with the hard, cold floor. if you felt dizzy just then, you felt like you were going to pass out now. calls of your name echoed in your head were the last thing you remembered before your vision faded to black.

after a few hours, you slowly regained consciousness. you sat up from the bed, realising that you were in the school infirmary. you looked to your side, seeing riki, who was sleeping. his head hanging low as his arms were crossed. you were wrong to say that you didn't like him before. oh god you loved him like crazy, but you never had the guts to tell him. you were scared that you were going to lose him if you confessed, so you kept it to yourself. maybe that's why it killed you so much when you heard him backstab you that day.

you huffed, as you observed his face. he looked unreal, compared to before. his features matured, suiting his face even more. his moles enhanced his features. his pouty lips, his hair, his eyes, they seemed to stand out to you."i can't believe you look this handsome now…" your eyes then traced to the bracelet that you made him. you smiled to yourself, as you gently touched his hair. "i can't believe you still have that bracelet," you sighed, still looking at him. "i'm sorry for being so harsh to you ki," you mumbled before hearing footsteps approach you.

"ah y/n! you're finally awake!" the nurse smiled at you. the voice of the nurse woke riki up, who suddenly sat up straight. "unfortunately, I called your mother but she said she can't look after you because of work. however, this young gentleman has volunteered to take care of you." she said, pointing to riki. you shook your head, insisting that you could look after yourself, but the nurse said that you needed someone to look after you. you exhaled, finally agreeing with her information. she left the two of you alone.

you looked at riki, who was staring at you. "thank you riki," you murmured, bowing your head. he smiled at you, with a mischievous look. he smirked at you, as you raised your eyebrow. "why are you looking at me like that?" you furrowed your eyes at him. he crossed his arms and chuckled, shaking his head. "I heard everything you said~" he giggled as he leaned closer to your face. you felt your cheeks flare up, covering your face in embarrassment. you slapped his arm, which caused him to laugh more at you.

"ooh getting feisty are we y/n?" he teased you, making you go even redder. "well, I can't deny that I am this beautiful now," he dramatically posed, making you stifle a laugh as you rolled your eyes at him. riki showed off his bracelet to you, the charm gleaming in the faint sunlight in the room. "and why would I take this masterpiece off? your 5 year old hands really had some skill, I can't lie" he smiled as he looked at the bracelet, then at you. "oh yes the last thing…" he said, coming even closer to your face. "I forgive you y/n" he flashed you a wide grin, making you blush even more.

you pushed his head away with your finger, trying to look annoyed. "well, it still doesn't change the fact that I still hate you." you grumbled, looking away from him. "y/n, you know you really don't look that annoyed. your face is still as red as a tomato." he sighed, watching you blush even more. you hit him with your pillow, making him dramatically fall to the floor. although you were trying your best not to crack, you started laughing , which made riki laugh. you got off the bed, helping him get up. he then suddenly picked you up.

"come on y/n! we're going to my house!"

new week!! my cats are doing good <3 the vet said to keep an eye on my male cat, to track his progress. no pretty decorations on this weeks update either because i feel sick </3 oh and i'm writing this on my phone so the formatting is a bit ugly and spacey 😭

what happened this week? aaaah...

>i visited the vet and he checked both of my cats. lucy is doing good! he said that her wound is healing up just fine and that the swelling is gone. when he checked harry he said he seems to be fine now, and that he can't tell right away what caused his seizure. since in rare seizures can happen once (and then never again) he said he won't do any further testings just yet. but should it happen again, i'll have to give him his emergency meds and take him to his clinic right away. from then on he will initiate testings and i will have to monitor harry's further progress

>i've been feeling really dizzy since yesterday 🥹 someone i knew has once told me that whatever i'm dealing with sounds like POTS. i didn't know what it was to that time, and i don't think i will ask my doctor to look into it for a diagnosis.. but knowing the possible cause for my dizziness, racing heart and feelings of faintness is still a comforting thought. at least i know that it's not necessarily my fault. before that i always felt really frustrated and upset whenever i had a flare up. now i try to be more patient with myself, eat something salty and hope i'll feel better. the only reasons why it's still hard sometimes are either lack of options to rest in public or my very own parents who think i'm being lazy 🥹 they always blame flare ups on anything but you know... a possible disability which, in comparison, is pesky at best 😭 i'm fine most of the time, i just need to rest on some days more than on others.

edit: okay so, i'm not sure if this is funny but i am allowed to laugh because it happened to me. yesterday i felt really dizzy and faint in general. but for some reason i kept forgetting 💀 so everytime i sat or laid down and then got up for whatever reason my body would move but my soul would remain seated 😭 i was close to fainting once AHAHA i'm okay though. i laughed about it yesterday too after the... 3rd time maybe. i heard a cat meowing outside so i jumped up, ready to protect my cat in a fight AHAHAH but my body said 'no <3 hihihihi'

and... that's it. other than that i stayed at home and looked after my cats. i was too worried to do anything else. my previous plans were to accompany my friend to something she was anxious to do alone, and go to a book flea market with my friends. i couldn't go.. but next time for sure! they sent me their book hauls though, so i didn't miss out on anything, haha.

i would like to think that my image descriptions are getting better 🥹 doing my very best haha. im holding myself back from going on rambles and adding extra information; like the fact that we grow vegetables and fruit in our garden or that there's a small spring and a house.

#20240526 #sorry for whining about the POTS thing #it's neither diagnosed nor confirmed it's just that the symptoms are there and i did have my doctors mention stuff like my heart rate racin #sometimes. and i sometimes feel really dizzy to the point where i have to either sit or lay down for a while (like yesterday and today). i #also feel really sick today. i could barely eat 😭 when i'm in public and i stand or walk for a period of time i feel really uhm #out of it? i can't describe it. i just don't feel okay. i often push myself through somehow because the thought of fainting scares me #there have still been cases where i almost fainted 😭 my head started to feel really warm and tingled all over my sight got dark and #my ears were ringing. wild experience i tell u. not my favourite 💀 avoiding it at all costs.

where do I start?

I truly think “Whose afraid of little old me?” Is one of her best songs to date. my fav lyric is “I was tame, I was gentle 'til the circus life made me mean” I picture this whole song with the cage scene of the lwymmd mv. I feel like this is what the media thinks the rep era was. ALSO THANk YOU AimEE LIKE??? IN THE MIDST OF IT WE BRING THIS BACK?

“But daddy I love him” was truly my fav the first time I heard the album, “I'll tell you something about my good name It's mine alone to disgrace” I heard this line and immediately thought about the letter someone posted on Twitter and I always wondered how she might react to that, and well here it is. I also really like the contrast of this song with “I can fix him” bc i think it’s like an oh shit… maybe MAYBE he was not all that.

“Florida!!!” Truly has something in it that idk but I didn’t think I was going to like it but it is amazing.

With “The smallest man who ever lived” I went with expectations of it being about joe never stepping up but I never expected it to be about MH. I also never expected the title track to be abt mh like,,,

And I feel like “the manuscript “ was a great last song for album, it reminds me of “dear reader” like a closer idk why.

what i thought abt the album omg!!! i was so overwhelmed during the first listen to the point i was like “pls not a double album” because i literally couldn’t process anything happening with that album but we did get a double album and it made it sm better to me because i’m an aaron girl :’) and there’s still a few songs i barely listen to but the album is really growing on me. (i think aaron saved it and maybe jack and taylor are- oh)

ManaPost 17 [BONUS] - About That...

Hi. It's Y. I don't want to drag this intro for too long, considering personal things will be conversed in today's bonus ManaPost. If you don't want to see that, here's your warning.

WHERE'S PPP!?

As you should know, PPP! was originally created for Ludum Dare 54 back at the tail end of September. I was incredibly sick over the weekend of the event, but I tried my best, and came up with some (albeit subpar) prototype. The team decided we'd just make it a Halloween title, and I took a break until October 20th.

From the start, PPP! was NOT a game we had wanted to make.

I thought I'd be able to adjust and we'd make an amazing game for you to play! Unfortunately, I really don't even want to see PPP! anymore 😭😭

PPP! was a neat game in the context it was originally intended for: Ludum Dare. It would've been nice to release it yesterday, but right now, development is canceled. Apologies from everyone here on the Manapotion team. We didn't want to let you down.

Now, on to the personal bit.

WHAT HAPPENED???

I (still Y) had a "situation" the afternoon of the 27th. I'm not going to get into it here, considering I'd like to keep a (somewhat) professional appearance on our platforms if that's okay.

Usually, I can push through events like what happened the 27th (will herein be referred to as "The 27th" for simplicity). When we wrote and posted ManaPost 16, I thought I'd be able to "lock in" and just get PPP! out of the way. I was starting to feel disappointed in my work though, and that was one of the contributing factors as to why PPP! isn't releasing.

Two days later, on Sunday, the emotions from The 27th just hit me like a train and I honestly didn't want to work on anything. Luckily, I did get to visit most of our team, including a few friends, and it brought my mood up. We had an awesome time 💙

But it didn't improve my motivation!!! I felt like a failure. I don't like to let people down, and in writing this ManaPost for you, I feel like I have. I have my own personal flaws, but I still want to keep up appearances and deliver good stuff! I've been the amateur programmer for our team for three and a half years! I'm only a senior. Sometimes I get caught up in comparison. I hope you can forgive me.

For now, I don't even want to TOUCH Godot!!! PPP! has genuinely drained the life out of me and I want to just take a break.

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

WHAT NOW???

Since this ManaPost covers this week, just know there may not be a proper ManaPost this Saturday. We need a break. PPP! has truly caused a Pumpkin Patch Panic here in the green elixir.

LOL sorry omg i really died. like am still dying. i spent all day yesterday crying over my coursework and shit but i talked to that guy and he really knocked some sense into me and told me to not be so hard on myself... so now im crying internally and not externally 😭

ive been thinking about it now and i think i might switch majors for the sake of my sanity bc real talk the amount of work is insane and i cant properly function it's crazy out here idk how people do this... i was thinking maybe health sci since i already have most of the credits for the degree and ive always wanted to be involved in the healthcare field... im gonna see my academic advisor on monday and see what they say because holy guacamole i want to be able to enjoy school w/o crying every time i think about it

omg that got long but those have been my thoughts for the past few days BUT ANYWAY that's so good!!!! im so happy for you big brain energy we love to see it!! ive got a biochem midterm this week (which is the cause of my mental breakdowns BUT KLSJFRG) and ochem is in 2 weeks but as i said might change majors and ochem is not necessary... so i'll prob drop it haha

the last season was so good. i found it a bit slow in the beginning but once it picks up it's going like i could not stop watching it!! i havent watched bcs but i heard it gets better near the end again?? ive watched el camino tho

that's how i felt abt crocheting at first like im the type of person to try something for a little bit and then give up right after but honestly!!! it's so fun because you can make all kinds of different things like clothing, bags, accessories and it's so fun!! i've been picking up knitting too and i've made some socks and i'm working on a sweater rn

WOIEFJWE that man is so wonderful like i feel like he really understands me and !!!!!!!!!!! i feel like he really balances out the "negative" parts/thoughts of me and is so reassuring IM WHIPPED LOL

#natasha romanoff x fem!reader (ft. besties yelena and kate <3) (requests are open!)

WARNINGS: well, hm, reader is sick, swearing, not a warning but reader is implied to have geokinetic related powers :)

→ getting sick isn't anyone's favorite thing to do, but the havoc caused by two sisters and a certain archer is the best medicine money could never provide.

A/N: this was requested! I actually wrote this yesterday night at like 3 am and added a few more things today SO no thoughts head empty their conversations in this one are the ones that's going on in my head between my four brain cells....bare with me okay 😭 I hope you enjoy it <33 missing natasha, yelena, and kate sm @marvel give them back to me this isn't funny 🙄. also mint chocolate is horrible #breakingmysilence

natasha knows something is wrong when she feels the ground quake beneath her feet.

steve's coffee cup trembles in his hands, and some of tony's miscellaneous papers fall onto the floor.

wanda's spatula flies out of her hands at the third quake, bucky's metal arm shakes (it never does that), and sam rubs his temples.

yelena seems the least amused as she enters the kitchen, and everyone looks to her in confirmation.

she nods solemnly in greeting, "it's y/n."

everyone's eyes then fixate on natasha as she nods back at her sister, bravely walking out of the kitchen and approaching your room.

"ACHOO!" the ground quakes once more, and natasha briefly hears glasses in the kitchen breaking.

she staggers and mumbles curses under her breath as she knocks quickly at your room, going into your room as soon as she receives a response.

"c-come in," your voice sounds incredibly weak.

"how bad are you feeling?" natasha asks worridly, pressing a hand onto your forehead, "pretty bad."

she notices how red your eyes are, her concerning gaze unbreaking when you cough heavily.

"you should get out of here, nat," you groan dramatically, "it's too late for me!"

"oh, shut up, you big baby," natasha smiles slightly, "have you taken any medicine or drunk any water yet?"

"uh....no."

"Y/N!"

"I'm sorry, okay! I just-" you make grabby hands at the water and medicine that yelena placed on your desk a while ago, "so, so far."

natasha rolls her eyes playfully and hands you the medicine and water, which you promptly took and drank before she could reprimand you again.

"there, all better," you try to perk up a little.

"yeah...no," your girlfriend shakes her head, "you're going to have to stay in bed, at the very least, I know you're going to try not to sleep."

"AW, but nat! I had plans with kate and yelena today!" you complain to the redhead, who ignores you as she helps you sit up gently and fluffs your pillows, "I took too many rain checks already, with training and missions and all."

"I know," natasha smiles sympathetically, placing a light kiss on your nose, "I'm sorry, princess, but you're staying in bed. no arguments. okay?"

you have no choice but to agree, knowing that natasha would watch you like a hawk from now on until you felt better.

"can I at least see yelena?" you beg natasha, pulling at the hem of her shirt, "pleaseeeee."

"fine," natasha sighs, gently taking your hand off her shirt and kissing your palm, making your face warm, "I'll call her up, alright?"

yelena is in your bedroom in minutes, and she brought everything a sick person SHOULDN'T eat. after a long lecture from natasha, yelena hides it all in her vest, whispering to you that she'll let you eat anything once natasha leaves your room.

you talk about other topics, the normal banter between your favorite sisters serving as music to your ears, although many others in the compound would disagree.

"feeling any better?" yelena's hand has not left yours since she first entered the room, and you nod, "yeah! much better!"

"let me check," natasha quips, coming close to you to place a hand on your forehead again, "you haven't be sneezing for a while so-"

"ACHOO!!!"

you sneeze on natasha's face accidentally and the whole compound tremors and you vaguely hear bucky downstairs screaming 'oh, come. ON!?"

natasha still somehow remains standing, while yelena actually fell off the bed.

"I'M SO SORRY!" you apologise profusely to your girlfriend who shakes her head, but runs to the bathroom to wash her face, "that was...really gross, but it's fine!"

yelena, meanwhile, laughs her ass off, "I can't! that's the best thing I've ever seen since seeing natasha slam into a glass door!"

natasha walks out of the bathroom, face littered with water drops, a scowl evident, and she throws a stuffed toy at yelena's head.

soon, a full on pillow fight starts, and you whine at the sisters who were messing up your room unnecessarily, "that's not fair! I can't even participate!"

yelena and natasha share a look, and burst out laughing, and you glare at both, crossing your arms.

"you? have a pillow fight with us?" natasha chuckles, catching her breath, and grabs yelena's face with her hand, pushing her back when she notices her trying to pounce.

"yeah? what about it?" you scoff, eyebrow raised.

"no offense, and I love you, but," yelena slaps her sister's arm away, and the redhead sticks her tongue out at her, "we'd definitely kick your ass."

"THAT'S BULLSHIT."

"YOU'RE JUST SALTY BECAUSE I'M RIGHT!"

"okay, okay," natasha intervenes, raising her hands towards the both of you, "no more brawls."

"yeah, it's only okay when you initiate them," you mumble under your breath, loud enough for natasha to hear.

"oh so we're playing it that way!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," you feign innocence, and you shriek when natasha starts to brutally tickle you.

you will a small tremor under her feet and natasha trips and falls on the ground, hissing.

"AHA!" you brag, smiling at the camera (yelena was filming the whole thing), "even when sick, I can still beat my girlfriend's ass!"

"bullshit."

"don't copy my word."

yelena texts kate about what was happening as you and natasha bicker.

yelena: kate bishop, you've got to come down here, this shit is hilarious 😭

kate bishop: NOOOO I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE SNEEZED ON NATASHA'S FACE LMAO BYE.

yelena: they're so disgustingly loud I can't do this alone anymore.

kate bishop: sorry I'm too busy laughing at the vid you sent but I'm otw 🏃‍♀️

you narrow your eyes at yelena who was smirking at her phone, "who are you texting?"

"just told kate bishop about everything," yelena smugly announces, "she's on the way now."

"everything?" both you and natasha say at the same time, wincing.

"everything," yelena mocks, "don't worry! you two probably still have a shred of dignity left somewhere!"

"you're horrible," yelena blows you a kiss, "tell me something I don't know, y/n/n."

"I'M HERE!" a blur of purple blasts into the room, holding coffee and donuts.

that was quick.

"you brought the unhealthy food!" yelena praises kate, taking the donuts from her, "I'm starving, thank you, kate bishop."

donuts hardly was the best thing to eat as a meal, but yelena is already staring and picking at them like they're the best things that have ever happened to her.

kate shakes her head and giggles at her friend, but makes her way over to you, "oh you poor thing, are you feeling better yet?"

in truth, you just felt extremely tired, the sneezes and coughs were less and less frequent, and your eyes felt slightly lighter, "a little, yeah."

"good," kate pats your head affectionately, "don't worry about our hangout, okay? you already took multiple rain checks, what's one more?"

yelena snorts, chocolate on her mouth, and you pout, natasha kissing it off, claiming that she never gets sick (it's truly a lie but hey, you want to kiss your girlfriend).

"got you the tissues you want by the way," kate hands you a pack, "I remember saying you need a specific kind."

"oh my god, you're a lifesaver, thank you," you grin gratefully at the brunette and she shrugs, "anytime!"

"did you just get mint chocolate donuts?" yelena deadpans, holding it up like it was a dirty rag to kate's face, "uh, yeah?"

"that's disgusting!" yelena exclaims, and natasha who seemed to have forgotten that you were sick and was cuddling you refutes her statement, "no it's not. mint chocolate is great!"

"no, you're just weird," yelena replies, dropping the donut on her sister's open hand, "take it, it deserves you."

"it does taste good!" natasha indignantly states again, "y/n? what do you think?"

your nose scrunches as your girlfriend's face turns to you, the trust in her eyes draining when you shake your head, "disgusting. horrible. should never be in anything ever."

yelena gestures to you proudly, "see, THAT'S why she's my best friend."

natasha gasps at you, "I thought I could trust you," you bury your face into her shoulder, nuzzling closer into her warmth, "nope, sorry."

"kate?"

kate looks between the three of you and grins, "I love mint chocolate!"

"a girl after my own heart," natasha declares, high-fiving the archer, "you're now my official favorite."

"suck up," yelena teases the archer who kicks her on the shin, "ow!"

kate sits on the chair next to yelena and natasha continues to argue about how mint chocolate is the best flavor in the world.

they might be overly chaotic, but you truly could not ask for a better group to take care of you when you're sick.

"bullshit."

"is that your favorite word for everything?"

"it indeed is, actually," you remind the girl next to you, "but let's forget about that, could we? just cuddle me, romanoff."

"my, my, someone is awfully needy," natasha teases, nevertheless intertwining her hands with yours, "you seem to have forgotten that you're the one who wanted to cuddle with a sick person."

"they're so gross," yelena whispers to kate, who was eating a donut and not paying attention to anything else, "I don't know what you're talking about, they're adorable!"

"you're so going to get sick."

"at least I'll have you to take care of me."

The other day you had replied to Peters story that he had put on about stark internship and for the past two days you had been texting non stop about anything and everything.

It was near to the end of your time in high school and the school was hosting a prom to say good bye, not that they'd miss you. Scrolling on the prom outfit websites you were trying to find the outfit you had fallen in love with when you had first seen it yesterday. Clicking on his notification which had just popped up you started a completely new conversation.

"So yh I was looking at prom dresses and found the prettiest one and now they do t have it 😭 it's only been one day" you texted slightly laughing at your exaggeration
