My thoughts on the Inside Out teaser trailer
So, you probably didn't know this, but Inside Out is my FAVORITE Pixar movie! It came out when I was eight and the story resonated with me for reasons, that at the time, I didn't realize topic for another day.
So when I heard that they were making a sequel to the movie, I was.... hesitantly excited.
I'll admit, I was skeptical at first considering the fact that the previous Disney sequel I watched was Wreck it Ralph 2 (which I didn't like), I was a bit concerned when I heard that the guy who wrote The Good Dinosaur was directing.....
But after seeing the teaser, I think I'm actually really hopeful about this! If this turns out to be even decent, I will be putting Pixar back on the pedestal it fell off of years ago. The fact that Elemental was pretty good too also helps lol.
In regards to the trailer itself, IT'S GREAT I LOVE IT I AM VERY EXCITED NOW!!! I don't wanna speculate TOO much, but....
One of the new emotions that will be introduced is called Ennui. Ennui is defined as "boredom, a feeling of weariness and dissatisfaction".
Now, when I heard that definition, my first thought was ".... so under stimulation? Sounds kinda tistic lol"
And then I started thinking more, maybe a little too hard about it and I might be reaching, but considering the fact that for a split second, you can see Anxiety the little skrungle shaking their hands like it's a stim arrfbjdsvu
LET MY LITTLE ADD HEART HAVE THIS DAMN IT UGDJURDHH!!!!
So yeah, really looking forward to it!

At the end of the teaser trailer it says that “the feel [__] movie of the 2024” and then it fills in the blank through all the main emotions + anxiety and then really quickly goes through envious (teal with an orange dot in the i), ennui (indigo with a red dot in the i), and embarrassed (pink)
So it seems like those are the other emotions we haven’t gotten a full peak at yet!

Disney and Pixar's #InsideOut2 is coming to theaters June 2024 with brand new emotions!
The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out—but next summer, everything changes when Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” introduces a new Emotion: Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, the new character promises to stir things up within headquarters. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” said Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.” A trailer, poster and film stills are now available for what promises to be the feel-good (or feel-everything) film of Summer 2024.
Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, “Inside Out 2” releases only in theaters Summer 2024.

In the wake of the Inside Out 2 teaser I am very excited for it but I also have some personal mixed feelings regarding it.
TW suicide, anxiety, paranoia, cancer, puberty
I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder about 9 years ago when I was 12, after about a year of deep anxiety, delusional paranoia, and suicidal ideation. I’ve struggled with anxiety ever since and it’s gotten harder to manage this past year with life changes and fuckery with medications (thanks cancer recurrence). It’s hard not to resent your anxiety when it fucks with your life on so many levels over and over again, and resent puberty for making these issues as big as they are. And you can’t help thinking about what you could do or be if you didn’t have it. It’s also hard not to yearn for the anxiety-free times before everything changed.
I’m excited for the film and I plan to go see it but I’m also nervous about facing head-on my anxiety and how I was so caught off-guard by it all those years ago due to my pubescent hormone changes. But Pixar has been so good about dealing with serious issues like these, that I think if they can stick this landing, Inside Out 2 could be one of the most healing films of my entire life.
