I sat and transcribed the Workin’ Boys programme as Matt Lang intended
Zoey Chambers (Henrietta) is humbled beyond words to be a part of this groundbreaking production. Zoey has been entrancing audiences for years with her portrayal of badass girl-bosses like Sandy from Grease and Fantine form Les Miserables. Zoey would like to thank her brother, Zack, for giving her the acting bug all the way back in the third grade! It’s ironic that Zack thought he was the actor of the family but Zoey would go on to completely overshadow him in every way. Sucks to suck doesn’t it Zachary? Zoey would also like to thank her roommate and fellow cast member, Hailey! Hailey is perfectly cast in her very small and inconsequential part. The role of Marge is just so uniteresting and one dimesntional that it helps mask Hailey’s limited range as an actress, as well as other flaws, such as not being pretty enough to pull off an ingenue. Enjoy show and ||be sure to check out Zoey’s Only Fans for spicy pics, JOIs and other lewd content.
Hailey Dilmore (Marge) is so lucky to be part of the best cast in the world! She has no idea how she managed to worm her way into this talented group of ladies! You may recognised Hailey as Pink Lady from Grease of Disciple #3 from Godspell! Hailey would like to thank her fellow cast member, Zoey Chambers. Zoey has been an inspiration, a mentor, and above all, a friend. She’d also like to thank her parents and her dog, Walter. Also she’d like to apologize to the cast once again for blowing up the bathroom every single day during rehearsal. She’s so sorry she made it stink so bad that everybody had to cross the street to use the toilet in the Bank of America. She really doesn’t know what’s happening to her bowels. She’s going to the doctors after the show closes to get everything sorted out. Enjoy the show!
Ruth Fleming (Secretary #4) is so fucking stoked for her acting debut! This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me I mean, her. Ruth ran the lights for her school’s shitty production of The Barbecue Monologues and was also the Assistant Stage Manager for The Wizard of Oz… it sucked. She got bulled and excluded by the whole cast, even thought her job was just as important as theirs. More important actually! Being in the cast is way better! You don’t have to think of an excuse to barge into the dressing room. You can just walk right in! Everyoby takes off their shirts and lets their titties tumble free! It’s the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen… I mean she’s ever seen. Anyways, Ruth doesn’t wanna thank anybody because nobody ever did anything for her.
Cassandra King (Eve) is elated to be present with you fellow vessels in these freeing moments. Everything has transpired exactly as the light in the sky foretold. Cassie has never been a believer in prophecy or the eternal spaces between… but she’s seen too much to deny their truth now. She no longer fears the visions or the pain that comes with their descent. Pain is the price of knowledge. Pain is the language that unites the children of Azzokish no matter which star they may hail from. Cassie wants to see what lies at the end of the cold half. She’s ready to see the face of the girl screaming in the dark. How did she find herself aboard? And what is the destination of such a significant ship? Is tonight the night Cassie departs? The lights do give no answer. And so she waits for deliverance. Cassie would also like to thank her boyfriend, Chris.
(Note: the spelling of Azzokish could be wrong it was blurry as hell)

Ok people seemed to really like the last post I made summarizing an unwritten fleshed out worm fanfic I had, so here's another! This one's an altpower and wait where are you going come back its good I swear.
(tw: suicide)
Taylor triggers with Ingenue's power after an incident involving Sophia (who is removed from the wards and not a part of this fic past this), and outs Sophia as a cape since Ingenue can see powers. She's forced into the wards because she has no ability to defend herself, is immensely powerful, and people will want her dead or on their side since she can out every cape in the city. She genuinely has no practical choice besides the Wards here, so she begrudgingly joins. It's not all bad though! She actually makes friends for the first time in so long :)
Her and Missy hang out a lot, and their powers synergize super well since Taylor can make Vista frighteningly powerful. She warms up to Dennis after some patrols, she can make his power non-touch based too! Dauntless is like a mentor figure, they meet up every day so she can make his charge way more powerful, speeding up his growth by like 3 times, and he gives her lots of advice, helps her begin to come out of her shell, and is generally chill. Good times.
So y'all remember that bit about Ingenue's power causing people to go insane in the long term? What if you didn't know about that and you constantly used your power on your friends? Wouldn't that be funny?
Clockblocker is the first to snap. He's on a train when he just decides fuck it, and freezes a pencil in the air. Everyone sitting to the left of him down the length of the train gets impaled by it, just goes clean through. It's covered up as a villain attack, he's ushered off to the asylum, and the wards are just. Really messed up by it. They miss him, they miss his jokes, and they don't get why he did it.
A week passes. Taylor confides in Dauntless about how she feels like it has to be her fault, like everything is, but he reassures her. It's fine, she's done so much good, sometime's people just go bad. Genuinely just a great pep talk, she still misses Dennis but she's grateful she has the rest of her friends and Dauntless is there to cheer her up. She also mentions how it's hard to walk around the city, she keeps seeing villains and she can't do anything about it. She mentioned a few weeks ago that a bunch of them keep going into the same building, but she's helpless and just has to sit by.
That night, Dauntless levels the Medhall building. A few E88 capes were inside and they fight, and he kills them. Everyone else in the building is injured at the least, collateral damage that Dauntless would have cared about before. There's no covering that one up, he's killed dozens. When he's caught more than half the empire is dead, along with upwards of a hundred bystanders, and he's sent to the birdcage.
Taylor doesn't leave her room for a few days. Vista reassures her that it wasn't her fault.
On their next patrol, Missy begs Taylor to use her power to remove her manton limit. Taylor doesn't, but she's pretty sure she sees the pattern now. Vista's going insane. Were the other two this obvious? Should she have noticed? Would everyone be alive if she had? Would she still have friends? How can she tell anyone about this, when she'll be blamed?
She goes to Piggot, pretty much accepting that she'll get birdcaged or something. She's a horrible person, she knows that. She never gets to talk to Piggot, because all the heroes get called into the field to stop an A class threat. Vista is twisting the city around her, killing countless people. She turns bullets back, she extends a knife with her powers like Jack Slash. She's finally proving what she can do, then they'll all see, and they'll respect her and let her fight the way she wants to.
(side note, ingenue's power makes people closer to their shards in this interpretation, which also means they're flat out way more powerful even without her touch after a while)
The heroes are fighting Missy, they're losing, none of them want to hurt her. Missy see's Taylor from across the city, she's using her power to see almost everywhere at once by distorting space. Within seconds, Taylor is next to Missy. She reaches out to touch her, if she can shut down her power then it'll all be ok and Missy can get help and they'll be friends again and it wont be her fault. The space between them is a mile long and a foot thick. Missy doesn't want her help right now, she wants to prove herself to Taylor so Taylor will finally appreciate her power and they can be a team. Taylor tries to look away as Missy kills someone, space is warped so her line of sight is directly on the act. She closes her eyes, and the space between her eyelids is stretched infinitely wide. She watches, unable to stop her, as Missy keeps killing and defending and destroying. Missy begins to try to upend the sea floor, to dump the ocean onto the city. She's taken out before that can happen. How doesn't matter, what matters is Taylor couldn't stop her. The city is in shambles, its her fault, she was RIGHT THERE and she couldn't do anything, she could just watch and watch and watch.
She tells the PRT about how she thinks her power is breaking people. She's banned from touching anyone. They don't do much more, legally speaking she's safe and it wasn't her fault. The rest of the wards don't talk to her anymore. They blame her, just like she knew everyone would. It's her fault everything went to shit. She can't blame them for hating her, she hates herself too. She sneaks out to go on a walk one night, when the hateful looks and resentment get to be too much. She sees a cape. Lung.
Taylor knows her power is practically useless alone, and she walks up to Lung and insults him, provokes him, riles him up to attack her. If she dies here at least she'll be remembered for dying as a hero fighting a villain, rather than someone who corrupts everything they touch. Lung burns her, bad, all over her right side. He lifts her up by the neck and prepares another fireball. This is what she wanted, but she can't do it. She twists his power, reducing his durability and fireproof nature to zero and ramping up his firepower. Lung burns himself to a cinder in seconds, erased by his own power once the protections were gone. Taylor gets burned again in the blaze. She couldn't even commit suicide without hurting anyone else. She couldn't even die without fucking it up. She's alive. Panacea refuses to touch her to heal her, for very understandable reasons.
She goes to the asylum, despite her request for the birdcage.
Filled with guilt, afraid to touch anyone and everyone, blaming herself for everything that happened, avoiding Dennis at lunchtime while he glares at her, closing up and being silent for days on end, haunted by the people Vista forced her to watch die. Her fault, all of it.
And that's the end! Woooo! She's broken forever, no coming back from that one!

Probably weird of me to focus on this, but...
The Worm fandom (especially the part still reading and writing fanfic a decade later) has an intimate understanding of the ins and outs of its power system. They know the difference between a Changer and a Breaker; they know all powers are designed for conflict; they know how trigger events work.
But most people within the setting don't know any of this. Power categories (and especially ratings) are technical jargon, only important to PRT officers and nerds; powers being intentionally conflict-oriented is a fringe theory, usually dismissed with a brief consideration of human ingenuity and violence; Taylor didn't even know trigger events existed when she joined the Undersiders, despite being months into her superhero prep and research. (And, you know, having a trigger event herself.)
We see behind the curtain, we have Word of God and conspirators' Interludes and Weaver Dice. We see everything about the power system, from Enity to PRT database, as a complete and pristine whole. That's not how anyone sees it in-universe—not even Cauldron, whose nigh-omniscience has built-in limitations against power gunk.
Everything before the trigger event is unfounded speculation. Trigger events are obscured by people who lie about them (whether to keep their identities secret, hide their Cauldron ties, or because it was a deeply personal trauma that they don't want to talk with random researchers about). The PRT rating system is a collection of multiple smaller organizations' systems cleaned up to a form convenient for Wildbow's purposes that worked well enough, before being frozen so that they didn't have to update their files every six months because someone decided to relitigate the Master/Stranger split again.
All of this is within the original text, no Word of God needed. Some of it is major plot points, some of it sets up chapter-ending-cliffhanger levels of awkwardness, some of it is casually mentioned when the rating system is introduced, but all of it is present. And fanfic writers are inconsistent about remembering any of it.
[insert grumbling about Worm fanfic authors that only read other fanfic]
Now, I haven't seen many fanfics where random people correctly guess half of the big Entity twist with just publicly-available information about powers, and there are some where PRT ratings and stuff are treated as geeky stuff only PRT officials and Victoria Dallon care about. But most seem to forget that most capes don't know much about, say, PRT rating systems, and that civilians know even less.
The big offender, unsurprisingly, is Taylor Hebert. On one hand, we can be 100% certain that she wasn't a cape nerd (unless your definition is loose enough to include owning an Alexandria t-shirt at age 9). On the other hand, fanfic authors often write her with an encyclopedic knowledge of PRT jargon, as though the author forgot people in Earth Bet could describe powers without them.
It's an incredibly petty pet peeve, I realize, but it bothers me, in the same way that some fanfics will have characters look at, like, the Holy Grail and decide it must be tinkertech. It feels like the author is just using jargon from the series without considering that jargon's place in the world or the characters using them. It feels hollow and thoughtless.

I'm writing this from human to human. I'm wondering how you ended up in this compassionless whirlpool of hate and disrespect. I hope, and I pray that you can finally step into the good in life, instead of keeping yourself chained to this negativity. Live with compassion and respect for another, end this void. Please. Isn't it enough, after years?
Hate, disrespect? For a moment we shall treat you in the good faith you are not treating us. There is no compassionless whirlpool. Quite the opposite, it was compassion for our server that we started to do our work. Literally hundreds of people agree with us and actively follow us.
There is no negativity, we are simply doing a necessary duty that no others within our community will do. Holding those who will not be held to account for egregious, bile ridden harassment, witch hunts and mockery of innocent players.
No one is making you read our work, yet consistently certain types of player come back here time and time again. You have utterly no counter arguments, no recourse and you know we are ultimately right. So with that out of the way, we have addressed you in good faith, now to the crux.
--
A bully is a weakling who predates on those who they feel threatened by and by those who they feel they can aggrandize and make themselves feel better by. However with us, your tactics are impotent and your numbers are bleeding out day in day out. The server reviles your kind and the dis-ingenuity, the gaslighting, the gatekeeping.
Even this is hilarious in a pitiful way, preaching about negativity when your clique has been a parasitic worm on the community for years, and now that the leech has lost its teeth it flounders and writhes, lashing out ever more against its victims.
There has always been an easy way out for your kind, because we are forgiving. A public apology from its members, a clear recanting of your ways. But no, your pride is too great and that pride has crushed any way out for the remaining dregs in your crumbling 'empire' as your Dear Leader once called it.
You have been led by perverts, literal neo-nazis, incels and the sorts truly deserving of the word 'degenerate' for years and now the consequences of your own actions and inaction are catching up. What is it to us? We spend maybe thirty minutes every day, each member working through our messages, our material.
Yet we have lived rent free in your heads for five plus years, and you have never come close to who we are, countering our methods of exposure or even offering a counter argument to the small library of evidence that is all publicly available for anyone to look through at any time.
Take the L and go join your cult leader in his new conquest.

Dream: Bloodbaths and sad little waifs aside, life for Mrs. Robinson was still not all sunshine and rainbows… Her indiscretions had indeed not been willed away and chamomile would not soothe it away either.
****
Lyra: What do you want Cedric, and why are you calling so late? … No I can’t say I have given much additional thought to your stupid deadline - do you - do you have any idea how much stress you are causing me!? … No, I figured you didn’t care just what I’d expect from a selfish bastard like you… Cedric, please, I am begging you, let this go, you are not the baby’s father, I don’t know how many different ways I can say this… Cedric, I don’t want to do this, I want to go to bed now and I don’t want…
Dream: Mrs. Robinson’s words seem to fall on deaf ears. I wonder why humans are so obsessed with continuing lineage when they’re capable of so much more than just the physical aspects? A marvel of ingenuity and worlds upon worlds lay dormant in the mind and this tiny insignificant worm is hopeful that his genetic material is still potent after a long life of hiding his proclivities and drowning his sorrows in whatever and whoever would have him.
****
Lyra: Look, I have made my position abundantly clear, the baby isn’t yours and I won’t let you ruin my life Cedric… *Hissing angrily but quietly* Stay the fuck away from me Cedric! I don’t want you to ruin my life… Fuck your deadline, and fuck off Cedric!!
Click.
Dream: Mrs. Robinson, Lyra…my dear, you are one of the more entertaining humans. A credit to your species on strength and tenacity!  What will you do to keep your life happy and whole? How far will you go? Does this stain on your white life have any inclination as to how close to the end he really is?

Do you think Teacher and Spawner explored each other's bodies?
Yes, but only with Ingenue's permission and if Custodian could watch.
Compromise is the key to making these things work.

top 5 favourite characters in any piece of media ever?
Oh Christ*. I doubt I could do real justice to this, but lets see if I can at least list in no particular order some of the characters I most like that have at least an orthogonal connection to this blog.
Rachel Lindt: Look, getting through the early parts of Worm were rough for me. Everything seemed a bit too exaggerated and ham-fisted, WB hadn't really learned how to do prose, and the only thing keeping me going was remembering that my cousin recommended it a while back and that that some out-of-context posts I'd seen from blastweave made it sound like it had some interesting ideas. But one of the early inexplicable hooks the story got into me was introducing this character who'd seem from a distance like another stock bully character, and almost immediately making me think "wait, I wanna see what he does with her. There's something there." And then there was! There's just something so satisfying about all her interactions with Taylor throughout the whole story; to the extent that I basically divide the story by the different periods of their relationship. She's everything.
Also, my posting about her was some of my first interactions with wormblr. Which is also the first fandom I think I could say I'm actually a part of? Like, there's plenty of things I'm a pretty huge fan of, I even have another fandom sideblog I started before this, but Worm got me actually posting instead of just passively reblogging for pretty much the first time. And Rachel got me there! So I have her to thank for answering this question at all in the first place.
Harrowhark Nonagesimus: The first character I liked in a blorbo kind of way, if that makes sense. Like, there's plenty of characters who I love, or who make the stories I love shine, or who I always had a fun time thinking about. But Harrow as a character just cracks open my brain in a way nothing else does. The Necromancy. The goth space Catholicism. The theatricality. The general horribleness. The specific combination of overwhelming presence and sad shitsack vibes. The specific combination of genius and ingenuity coupled with the crushing stubbornness and lack of creativity. Its not even like a key sliding into the lock in my heart, its like a lockpick that's clicking through all the tumblers in my heart-lock and revealing it for the flimsily-built masterlock-ass shit it is. I never used to get people who talked about how a character inspired them to pick up a hobby or take up an interest in something. But I ended up reading Lolita because of how much I loved Harrow! I started getting into Nabokov as a whole and finding one of my favorite writers because of Harrow! Nothing else does that to me! Which itself leads to...
Rose Lalonde: Did Harrow have a precursor? She did, indeed she did. In point of fact, there might have been no Harrow at all had Muir not loved, one summer, a certain initial witch-teen. In a comic by Hussie. Oh when? About as many years before GtN was written as my my age was that year. You can always count on my favorite characters for a fancy prose style.
No but Rose's verbose prose style really did cement her as one of my favorite characters. Like Bitch, she's a character that got me into an overly-long work I wasn't sure I wanted to tackle. I had attempted to start Homestuck a few times before I actually got into it, and the early computer-game jokes and user-submitted prompts weren't really engaging me. I did not see myself enjoying reading about John futzing around in his room for a few thousand pages. But man oh man, when the narrative switched focus to the literally purple-prosed kid obsessed with Lovecraft, I was ready for whatever the story wanted to do. I related to her and idolized her instantly. When I reread Homestuck much later, I related to her for much less complementary reasons. I have a particular (read: grating as hell) speaking style that's a result of being a kid who both thought of himself as smarter than everyone and was completely unsocial to the point of barely being able to have a conversation. I sound like an analytic philosophy paper written by an undergrad who's not invested in the topic or the course but who really wants to sound like he knows what he's talking about. The unique and specific character voices in Homestuck are the best part of the work for me, and when I first read Rose, I was basically reading who I wanted to be. And reading her later and realizing all the ways she's just a dumb kid makes me think of all the ways I was just a dumb kid, and how I'm trying to get to a place where I can converse with someone and feel comfortable without being condescending.
Look, there's a reason that despite Dave and Karkat having all my favorite moments in the work, I ended up owning two pairs of Rose t-shirts. And its the same reason I have a Ninth House outfit.
Kaladin Stormblessed: What if there was a story about trauma giving you superpowers fueled by bonding to an alien intelligence, but instead of the bonded spirit driving you towards self-destructive behavior it tried to make you into the best version of yourself? I've already talked a bit about how the Stormlight Archives has a surprising number of similarities to Worm, and reading it when I was a young teen probably contributed to developing the sensibilities that made Worm click for me. Plus, the cosmere was my first real multi-property media I got into, so it probably preempted me getting into comics as well (which this blog is also theoretically about). Speaking of—
Roberto da Costa: Feel weird about this, because I'm not even very familiar with the original Claremont stories he originated from. But the Al Ewing stories I read with him were some of the first Marvel comics I read at all (USAvengers was a weird-place to start that journey, tell ya hwat), and he set the tone for what modern big-two comics could do well perfectly. There's a lot of obvious problems with the eccentric billionaire hero archetype, but he's the best of that type of character. And while Ewing has written much better comics than the New Avengers/USAvengers runs he first used Roberto in, those stories were the ones that got me interested in Ewing in the first place. And I initially made this blog as a comics subblog devoted to his work! So again, this blog wouldn't really exist without Sunspot.
Special mention to: The March Hare+Doormouse. Putting them together because my parents met while playing them in their college theater program. Owing my existence to these characters means they probably deserve at least a mention. Also Jessie Pinkman and Sylvester Lambsbridge and Clint Barton and Saint Perpetua and Celestina the Witch and Smurov from Nabokov's "The Eye" and Quentin Brooks from Eidolon Playtest and the fictionalized version of Al Swearengen from Deadwood and Sister Carpenter from "The Silt Verses" and—
*No, I'm not putting him on the list.

Please tell us more stuff about karnalta and mannimarco? What does he think of her?
mannimarco has never had one single thought about karnalta, aside from maybe briefly noticing that they gave an aetherimensor position to a rather young dunmer from a very illustrious clan, how trite, even the worm cult can't escape nepotism. like she's just worm cultist 403958435 assisting with the plane meld and doesn't even work directly under him 80% of the time, her work largely involves scouting good places to put dark anchors so she's usually subcontracted to molag bal's forces anyways. like maybe he's heard her described once and briefly thought "how fascinating" before his brain was once again filled with malicious cackling and she slipped forever from his awareness
karnalta, meanwhile, is convinced that she is the shining jewel of mannimarco's life, that if he were only aware of her staggering talent and breathtaking ingenuity he would fall madly in love with her and name her the natural heir to the plane-meld and put all of coldharbour's gifts at her feet in a shower of goth roses and black soul gems. the fact that this hasn't already happen is due to underhanded conspiring by her rivals (her bemused coworkers) and her nemeses (her exasperated superiors). she draws little doodles of him on her notebooks and has taken to wearing very thick black eyeliner in emulation of his illustrious ghastliness
