Post Order 66 - Part 5
The ship arrives on Alderaan, and Fox contemplates the way his life has suddenly changed for the better.
Very minorly proofread. One I post it, it’s not my problem. My words got away from me, so it’s long ish?I started typing this at 7:30 am and it’s now 9:30, so I feel accomplished. Please don’t be afraid to comment or reblog with comments.

Sometimes, it was hard to remember that he was no longer a soldier of the Empire. And it was harder to remember that Palpatine no longer had access to him.
Some mornings, Fox woke up dreading the day. Dreading the things he would have to do. The things he would have to see. And then Kanna would bump her forehead against his collar bone, or she would mumble something in her sleep, and he would fall back into reality.
His gaze flickered to the side, where Kanna was still curled up asleep. Her face was pressed into her pillow, and her hair was a tangled mess around her head. He knew, from experience now, that she meant to braid her hair before bed every night. And every night she forgot.
He worried that she was neglecting herself to care for the men on the ship. It wouldn’t be the first time that she put the wellbeing of the Clones over her own, after all.
She said she was fine. That she was happy to help them. That it was her force given duty to help them. But she survived a massacre. A massacre that was perpetuated by the self-same men she was trying to help. And if she was focusing all of her attention on helping them, then who was helping her.
He shifted, and paused, his gaze dropping from the back of Kanna’s orange head, to her arm. Her arm which was laying on top of the blanket between them. Her arm which he had a white-knuckled grip on. A grip tight enough that he could already see bruises forming on her skin.
Fox’s mind raced, even as he quickly released her arm. He didn’t remember having any nightmares. Hell, Kanna had promised that she would keep the nightmares at bay for one night. So. So why-
Panic gripped him. Was he losing time again? What if he hurt her even more? Or Dusk, or Cody? People always got hurt when he lost time...what if he wasn’t as free from Palpatine as Kanna promised? She would never lie to him, but Palpatine was so much more powerful than she was-
Warm fingers carded gently through his hair, and he felt a light touch on his cheek. Followed by a very familiar sensation that was purely Kanna, washing through him, breaking the panic with an ease that should have been concerning, but he couldn’t bring himself to feel more than just warm and safe.
“There we go,” Kanna’s voice was rough with sleep, “Are you back with me, Fox?”
He swallowed hard, “I didn’t mean to wake you-”
“No harm done.” She smiled at him, “Do you want to talk about what upset you so much?”
He hesitated for a moment. Shame, mixed with horror and revulsion, threatened to overwhelm him, and the sensation of Kanna washed over him once again, and it washed all of the bad away. “I grabbed you again last night.”
“It’s okay, Fox. It was an accident.”
“You have a bruise.” His voice was flat, “I could have seriously hurt you. Maybe we should rethink this sleeping arrangement-” Okay, and there was that panic again.
Kanna moved so that she was sitting on her knees, and both of her hands cupped his face. Fox couldn’t tear his gaze away from the already purpling bruise on her arm. A bruise in the shape of a hand. His hand. “Fox, listen to me.” His gaze lingered on the bruise, but slowly dragged up to her face. He scanned her expression, she looked serious and worried. Her eye mask was red, he absently wondered why she switched away from pastel colors. “Do I have you, Fox?”
“...yes.” He sounded weak to his own ears, and he kind of hated himself for it.
“Okay. If you want to change the way we’re set up, then we can. But Fox. I’m not as fragile as you think I am. You cannot hurt me in any way that I can’t fix.” Kanna spoke slowly and clearly, making sure that he heard every word. “I can handle a few bruises.”
“And what if Palpatine still has control over me? What if he makes me kill you?” Fox asked.
She scowled at the mention of Palpatine. “He doesn’t.” Kanna said firmly. “Fox, I spent the last two weeks slowly stripping away of the the influence Palpatine had over you. He’s gone. I promise.”
“But what if-”
“Do you trust me?”
“...more than myself, right now.” Fox admitted.
“Then trust me on this. Please.”
Fox was quiet for a moment, before he reached out and lightly touched the large bruise on her wrist, “Okay. But, will you let Bee make sure I didn’t hurt you more seriously? Please?”
“If it will help you feel more comfortable, then yes, I will.” Kanna promised, “We can even go together, so you can hear for yourself.”
Fox nodded and carefully extricated himself from the bed. He would use the sonic, and dress, and then drag Kanna to Bee himself if he had to.

“So. Alderaan,” Cody stared out at the planet that they were waiting for permission to land on. “Based on what you said to Kanna and Fox, we’re going to be there for a while?”
Dusk grimaced, “I’m thinking that Bail might be able to point us in the direction of the Rebellion.” He admitted.
“You think a Republic Senator will point us in the direction of the illegal rebellion?” Cody asked, sounding doubtful. Sure, he knew that Obi-Wan had considered Bail Organa a friend, but he was pretty sure that Obi-Wan would consider Asajj a friend, with as much time as they spent together.
His General really was a fucking di’kut.
“I trust him, Cody. Why else would I leave the kids in his care?” Dusk countered with a roll of his eyes. “Plus, with Kanna and Fox added to the crew, the Starsinger isn’t really big enough anymore.”
“What makes you think Kanna and Fox won’t want to stay on Alderaan?” Cody asked, genuinely curious.
Dusk hesitated, “It’ll be safer for them to remain mobile, I think.” He finally said, “Bail and Breha would shield us, but they have their own kid to think about.”
“But they’re willing to watch three Jedi?”
“I think Breha is of the opinion that they’re our children.” Dusk admitted, as his ears started to burn in embarrassment.
“...you know. Rex did mention something about you and the Royal Family of Alderaan-”
“We’re not talking about this!” Dusk blurted.
“Talking about what?” Kanna asked as she stepped into the cockpit and settled in one of the jump seats. Cody allowed his gaze to linger on the bacta infused bandages wrapped around her wrist for a moment, before his gaze jumped to the guilty looking Fox.
He decided not to mention it.
“Apparently, Dusk here is the official Sugar Baby of Queen Breha and Senator Bail of Alderaan.” Cody drawled, a grin crossing his face when Dusk’s face became even redder.
Amusement flickered across Fox’s face, “So it’s official then? What’s your title? Prince Consort #2? Her Royal Majesty’s Boytoy?”
“Can we stop talking about this?” Dusk asked, burying his face in his hands. “It’s not like that.”
Cody opened his mouth to say something, but the comm interrupted him before he could, “Attention Alderaanian Vessel HRM 23991. You have received docking permissions at Docking Bay 04, please follow the beacons on your display.”
“Copy that, Flight Control,” Dusk replied, as he brought the ship into the atmosphere.
Kanna, sitting behind Cody, tilted her head curiously, “Unless I’m mistaken,” She said slowly, “On Alderaan, Docking Bays 1-30 are reserved for members of the royal family.”
Cody and Fox turned their attention away from Kanna and onto Dusk, who was blushing red, “Thank you Kanna,” He groused, “You’re so helpful.”
Turned out, that Docking Bay 04 was actually located at the Royal Palace of Alderaan. And, as the small crew stepped off of the ship, they were greeted by Breha and Bail, as well as four children.
“Buir!” Yin and Marral tackled Dusk as soon as he was close enough.
“Bu!” Rhawl ran after them, and tried to climb Dusk to get a proper hug.
And there on Rhawl’s heels, was a tiny little girl with brown hair who also hugged Dusk, “Bu!” She shouted happily.
Dusk blinked. “One,” He pointed to Marral, “Two” his finger moved to Yin, “Three,” He lightly tapped Rhawl’s nose, and then, “Four.” He tapped two fingers to little Princess Leia’s forehead, “You don’t belong to me, Imp.”
Leia giggled madly and lifted her arms, “Bu! Bu! Bu!” Dusk obediently scooped her and Rhawl into his arms, and turned to greet Bail and Breha, who were following at a much more sedate pace.
“Welcome back, Dusk,” Breha said with a warm smile. Somehow, her welcome back felt like welcome home, and Dusk resolutely ignored his snickering in the background.
“Thank you, your majesty. I hope my little hellions weren’t too much trouble,” Dusk greeted with a smile, even as he tried to hand Leia over to her father, though she seemed hellbent on remaining in Dusk’s arms.
“Nonsense, Leia was thrilled to have a playmate her own age.” Bail replied, though his gaze flickered to the group behind Dusk, lingering on Kanna and Fox for a moment, “I take it your mission was a success?”
Dusk nodded once, “Yeah. We won’t stay long, Bail. I know you’re already putting yourself in danger just doing this much.”
“You can stay for the remainder of the week.” Breha interjected, “Your ship won’t be ready until then.”
“...Last I checked the Starsinger is still in fine shape.” Dusk said slowly.
She smiled, “It’s far too small now, Dear One.” She said gently, “So I bought you another, much larger one.” She clapped, “Now, let’s get our guests inside, and into some proper clothing.”
Two hours later, everyone was clean and in fresh clothing, and were sitting around the private sitting room. Kanna was sitting on the floor, leading a meditation for the four children, though for Leia and Rhawl, it was less meditation and more naptime.
Dusk, Fox, and Cody were sitting on various chairs around the room, with Bail and Breha happily hosting them. Though, it didn’t take long for the conversation to become slightly more serious.
“Bail, I’m thinking it might be time for me to throw my support behind the Rebellion,” Dusk said, when there was a lull in the conversation, “What can you tell me?”
Bail frowned thoughtfully, “There aren’t many cells that would be happy to accept clones, though all of them would accept a Jedi,” He glanced at Kanna, who was patiently coaching Leia and Rhawl through their first meditation, “Especially a Jedi Healer.”
Fox tapped an anxious rhythm out on the table, “Kanna used to get into fistfights with people who badmouthed the clones,” He admitted, “She showed up in out barracks with a bloody nose and knuckles on more than one occasion. She’d refuse to stay someplace where we weren’t welcome.”
“That does limit your options,” Breha murmured quietly, “There is that one cell that has clones,” She reminded her husband.
“True. I’ll send them a message, and see what we can make happen.” Bail agreed, and then he smiled. “Any other concerns?”
Cody shifted, “Kanna told me that General Kenobi is still alive. Do you know where he is?”
Bail and Breha shared a look, and Breha nodded slowly at her husband. “I do, yes.” Bail admitted, “He assigned himself a mission, and he’s not going to abandon it, not even for you.” He wasn’t trying to be cruel. He was just trying to warn them.
“Respectfully, sir, I won��t believe that unless General Kenobi tells me himself.” Cody replied as politely as he could.
Bail stared at him, and then nodded, “He’s on Tatooine. Living in the Wastes. He calls himself Ben now. If you would take some advice. When you go to speak with him, bring Kanna. He’s less likely to flee from a Jedi he knows.”
“That makes sense.” Dusk murmured, “We might even just send her. Let her explain everything, before we come in.”
“I take it we’re not joining the rebellion right away,” Kanna said as she approached, Leia asleep in her arms.
“No, we’re making a pitstop on Tatooine.” Dusk replied.
“Hm. Okay,” Kanna placed Leia in Breha’s arms, “She wore herself out.” And then Kanna hesitated, “You’re both aware that she’s force sensitive, right?”
Breha nodded, “Yes. Her biological father was a Jedi.”
“She’s going to need training.” Kanna said as she folded her arms over her chest, “If only so she doesn’t draw the attention of the Inquisitors.”
“Are you offering?” Bail asked hopefully.
“I mean, I will if you want. But, from what I gathered, odds are I won’t be on one planet for long periods of time.” Kanna shifted, “But you have time. She’s still young, after all.”
“Thank you,” Bail said softly, and then he shook his head, “But, where are my manners. You’re all going to need rooms for tonight. One for each of you?” He asked.
Dusk coughed, “Kanna and Fox share for medical reasons.”
“Of course, that’s easy enough to accommodate.” Breha assured the pair, “And Dusk, will you be sharing with me and Bail?” She asked, with a would-be innocent smile on her face.
“I-uh...” Dusk’s face burned red, “Yeah. Okay.” He jabbed a finger at Cody, “Not. A. Word.”
Breha had a stunning smile on her face, “Wonderful! Leia has been sharing her room with Rhawl. While Yin and Marral have their own rooms. So only two additional rooms need to be set up. I’ll get right on that.”
Bail watched his wife leave the room with an adoring look on his face, “She’s amazing isn’t she?”
“I didn’t know that Dusk could turn that shade of red.” Fox murmured, a small grin on his lips.
Bail turned to look at Dusk, and he had the same adoring look on his face directed at Dusk as he did when he looked at Breha, “He’s always been rather adorable. Breha greatly enjoys making him blush, she always has.”
Dusk stood suddenly, “I’m taking Rhawl to bed,” He blurted.
“Great, I’ll come with you!” Bail said cheerfully.
“Why?”
Bail’s grin widened, “I like seeing you blush too.” He glanced at the three other adults in the room, “Someone will come and show you to your rooms in a bit,” He promised, “Dinner is at 7.”
Cody watched as Dusk and Bail left the room, with Rhawl sound asleep in Dusk’s arms. “You know, for the first time in a long time, I think we might actually be okay.”
Fox hummed his agreement, “We’re getting there, vod.”

Words of Shakespeare: Happy 20th Anniversary Supanova!
On the weekend of the 18th and 19th of June 2022, I went with six friends and two support workers (and of course my old friend Richard and other friends Sam and Hayden) went to the Supanova Comic and Gaming convention at The Dome at Sydney Olympic Park (my favourite entertainment fortress of solitude!).
Throughout the weekend, we saw a variety of cosplayers from Anime such as My Hero Academia and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, video games from my childhood such as Pokémon, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and Games from the previous decade including Undertale and Deltarune, cartoons and animated movies such as Steven Universe, the popular Disney adventure cartoon The Owl House and classics such as Beauty and the Beast and Mulan, web cartoons such as Vivienne Medrano’s Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss and Rooster Teeth’s RWBY, childhood animations such as Pingu, Characters from cult shows such as Monkey from the British gag dub of the same name that aired on ABC in the early eighties and of course cosplay from sci-fi movies and tv shows such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who and Marvel and DC comic books and movies including classic heroes and villains such as Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Loki, Superman, Batman, The Joker, Harley Quinn and the rest.
A majority of the well designed displays of the cosplayers were also shown at the Cosplay Showcase at the Cosplay Theatre across from The Dome at Hall 5.
I was also amazed by how many male cosplayers can cosplay as female characters like for example, when I saw a male Tawna Bandicoot cosplayer and females cosplaying as Deku from My Hero.
At Supanova when I first entered The Dome, there was a wall of Supanova Posters from the past 20 years starting with 2002 up until this year, my much loved Convention has hosted a plethora of well known guests from movies, tv shows, anime and cartoons including Sean Schemmel (voice of Goku from the Dragon Ball anime), Dan Green (voice of Yugi Mutou/ Pharaoh from Yu-Gi-Oh! Classic and Knuckles the Echidna from Sonic X and the various Sonic games from 2003-2009), Barbara Eden (From I Dream of Jeannie), John Barrowman (From Doctor Who) David Hasselhoff (from Baywatch) The late Verne Troyer (Mini Me from the Austin Powers movie franchise) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa of Star Wars) , Richard Horvitz (voice of Invader Zim and Alpha 5 from the earlier Power Rangers seasons Mighty Morphin to Turbo and currently the voice of Moxxie from Helluva Boss), Jeremy Shada, John DiMaggio, Olivia Olson and Jessica DiCicco, the Adventure Time cast of Finn, Jake, Marceline and Flame Princess/Phoebe respectively, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast members Jason David Frank (Tommy), Austin St John (Jason), Walter Emmanuel Jones (Zack), Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam), David Yost (Billy), Karan Ashley (Aisha) and of course the late legendary godfather of Marvel Comic Book superheroes Stan Lee who appeared in the 2014 edition of Supanova in Sydney. I have been attending Supanova Comic Cons since 2011 with the exception of 2015 when I was experiencing financial and physical burnout from my Melbourne trip and 2020 which was unable to be held due to well…horrid stuff and seeing those old posters of previous cons made me feel very nostalgic.
Supanova had a variety of stalls which you could buy various merchandise such as comics, pop vinyl figures, statues, trading cards, plush dolls of anime characters and video game characters and vintage merchandise such as action figures from tv show and cartoon franchises including Transformers, Power Rangers, He-Man, Batman the animated series, Star Wars, Star Trek and older comics from the eighties and nineties. Supanova also had a stall where you could buy autographs from previous years conventions.
For those who want some physical enjoyment, there was the archery target course and of course, my new favourite from last year, the Battlecry LARP sword fights. Richard and I had a great time taking down a burly ax wielding knight with rubber swords as you get a lot of exercise out of it as well!
There was also Star Wars Lightsaber demonstrations and testing your might as you try to lift Thor’s Hammer Mjölnir!
For those who love gaming, there were gaming areas where you could play Rocket League, Super Smash Bros and Ubisoft’s Just Dance whilst there was also gaming tournaments and demonstrations as well and of course board and dice games such as Dungeons and Dragons!
Looking through The Alley seeing all the prints of artwork and comic books by independent artists made me feel amazed inside, I bought a print of Spyro the Dragon and stickers of Stolas and Blitzø of Helluva Boss from Bunsanity and a commission of the character Wizarmon/Wizardmon from Bandai’s Digimon virtual pet, anime and video game franchise from art by Cyanide. I really loved how well designed Wizarmon looked even though if the artists never got into the Digimon franchise.
I even had my fortune told via Pokémon trading cards by a Mimikyu cosplayer!
There was also comic book artists from Australia such as Alex T. Trip who did illustrations for The Phantom, Jamie Johnson who did illustrations for IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and Dean Rankine who did illustrations for Simpsons Comics and Oggy and the Cockroaches (France’s answer to Tom and Jerry). One of the comic books I bought was by independent comic book artist Bad Harvie and his Ozploitation anthology comic book series modelled after Grindhouse low budget horror movies from the seventies and eighties. Definitely not for those with a weak stomach if I say so myself.
I was also happy that there wasn’t any offending stalls at the Alley unlike last year when Supanova was embroiled in controversy where there was a stall selling right wing extremist and Neo Nazi merchandise as conventions are a place of celebrating who we are and we do not condone any hate here.
For the con-goers who were looking for an appetite, Dominos Pizza was serving up pizzas, garlic bread and Pepsi drinks as usual and the cafés inside the Dome sold Pies, burgers and Bagels. Outside the dome had stalls such as Chips on a Stick, Wally’s Hot Dogs, Hot Dog on a Stick, Cheese on a Stick (who would usually be there at the Sydney Royal Easter Show) and Ian’s Ice Creams.
Now it was time for the main attraction and a mainstay for Supanova since the beginning, the guests! This year’s Sydney Supanova was the first edition with overseas stars in three years caused by well…again…bad stuff and the guests included Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum aka Clark Kent and Lex Luthor from Smallville, Michael Biehn from The Terminator and The Mandalorian, Mark Shepperd from Supernatural, Emile De Ravine from Once Upon a Time, James and Oliver Phelps aka the Weasley Twins from the Harry Potter films, the part of the Supanova furniture, John Jarratt who is a very friendly fellow despite playing one of the most infamous horror characters in Australian film history which is Mick Taylor from the Wolf Creek movies (which gave me uncontrollable bowel movement when I was younger and Jarratt never appeared on an episode of Play School in the eighties for those who are a victim of the “Mandela Effect!”), and of course, one of the first few guests from Supanova’s inaugural convention in 2002, Veronica Taylor, the original voice of Ash Ketchum from the 4Kids English dub of the Pokémon anime series and movies from 1998 to 2006.
Even though I was very determined to wait two and a half hours to obtain Taylor’s autograph and photo with her (and a much needed interval to use the restroom and chow down on a hot dog on a stick!), it was definitely worth the $60 to greet Taylor and to acknowledge her as one of the voices of my childhood growing up watching the Pokémon anime in the late nineties and early 2000’s on Cheez TV hosted by Jade and Ryan (who also appeared at the 2016 Edition of Supanova).
Taylor was also a very lovely person to talk to as well as I discussed all those precious memories!
I also attended a seminar at the Cosplay theatre where the Phelps Twins discussed their time playing as the Weasleys in the Harry Potter films with a number of funny stories to tell too!
This year’s Supanova was a roaring return to form and without any controversies or kerfuffles after what happened last year in the artist’s alley. Supanova is such a great way to dress up as your favourite character, meet new friends, join and explore new fandoms, be involved in activities, meeting your favourite celebrities and of course, reliving your childhood in the process (like I did when I met Veronica)!
My only negatives for this year’s convention was the long waiting time in groups to see big name celebrities and only a minuscule number of voice actors appearing. After all, we are still in a dwindling health crisis and we should get to see more well known voice actors from cartoons and anime next year (Still praying for Richard Horvitz!) and of course, more well known guests from movies and tv shows!
I give this year’s Supanova an 8 out of 10!

Poe is exhausted. And not just because he hasn’t slept for more than three hours at a time in Force knows how long. Moreover it’s the 39 flights he’s run in the last 22 days and the fact Pava had gotten deathlike sick eight days ago and then they had fallen behind on a few supply runs and an emergency evacuations of some of their pathfinders and then there had been a last minute scramble to one of their allies in the mid rim with far too many TIEs to be comfortable and then- well, Poe just wants to fall over onto the floor and stay there.

Modern times AU, Poe is a former Navy pilot who was discharged after a crash and being a POW. Finn is a university student who manages to catch Poe’s run away dog, BB-8, who’s literally everything to him.
“We Didn’t Start the Fire” by MayGlenn and cognomen (E - 10.7k)
There’s a calm that claims them all when they’re working and it’s going the way it’s supposed to; the low-level hum of concentration and focus and adrenaline that keeps them on edge without panic. The crew deploys from Idaho, a home base that they see perhaps 3 weeks out of the entire 26 week fire season, interspersed with time in camps and housing all over the country. This week, it’s California—sunny, liberal, beach lined, and on fire.
Finn's a Hotshot firefighter; Poe's the team Helitack operator. They're headed to California to fight a fire in San Jacinto; dangerous country.
“It’s Not Goodbye” by mssrj_335 (T - 25.9k)
Finn is an ex-soldier on a solo motorcycle trip across America. Poe is the mechanic in a small desert town. Poe wants to keep his secrets and Finn is running from something--or toward it--and the part for his bike is going to take at least a week to come in. What starts as a quick stop and awkward flirt devolves into a conspiratorial intrigue of a very personal nature. Lights in the desert, headaches and vague memories all point Finn to something that has Poe tied in knots. He just has no idea how far that something will take him.
“A Possibility (A Promise)” by sapphistication (T - 5.9k)
Poe, Prince of Yavin, is briefly reunited with the Resistance Fighters lead by General Leia Organa. After three years apart, he quickly finds that his affections for Finn are of a different nature than he remembers. Despite the war they find themselves in, they share a few moments of peace by the fire, filled with soft words and meaningful smiles. Time works against them, but Poe seeks a possibility and makes a promise.

Phantom Menace: Darth Maul (I nearly died when he came back in Rebels and CW.)
Attack of the Clones: Obi-Wan Kenobi (the mullet. The James Bond-style Kamino storyline. Ewan McGregor)
Revenge of the Sith: Anakin Skywalker (I admit this was likely because I fancied the shit out of HC at the time)
A New Hope: LEIA ORGANA
Empire Strikes Back: ...also Leia Organa
Return of the Jedi: Luke Skywalker narrowly edged over Leia (despite That Bikini) because he was so frigging adorable in this movie
The Force Awakens: FINN. FIIIIINNNNNN my stormtrooper son
The Last Jedi: Leia. We stan one (1) badass space princess in this house
Rise of Skywalker: Finn again. I didn't particularly enjoy either Rey or Kylo in any of the ST, but I will always love my dorky boy Finn and his space horses
Solo: Q'ira. Emilia Clarke is bomb.
Rogue One: Vader. He steals this with only a few moments of screentime just by being so terrifying badass

Shmi “He Deserves More Than A Slaves Life” Skywalker. Anakin was literally the only thing she had in the universe. She taught him to care for others and stand up for what’s right. And she loved him enough to let him go. If Anakin had been able to follow her example regarding love the Galaxy would have been a different place.
Owen “He Is My Own” Lars and Beru “We’re Enough” Whitesun Lars. I could write an essay on them. They knew the risk, they knew the danger, and they took him in. More than that: they loved him. They taught him to work hard and do what’s right. They, too, loved him enough to let him go. Prolonging the inevitable as long as they could, sure, but weren’t going to hold him back from the life he wanted and squash his spirit by keeping him safe on the farm forever either (one more season!) They protected him and gave their lives for him.
Bail and Breha “You Are An Organa In Every Way” Organa.
In this house we stan Bail and Breha Organa. Far more than Owen and Beru could even begin to fathom they understood what was at stake. Bail witnessed the attack on The Temple with his own eyes and knew exactly what would happen if Leia was found. But he and Breha had already been fighting for what is right - been fighting the Empire before it was even formed. They were committed. And they raised Leia to continue that fight even after she had lost everything herself. They are the true embodiment of family being far more than blood and ironically, raised a daughter who would carry on the legacy of Padme and (Clone Wars General/pre fall)Anakin: Leia spent her life dedicated to the service of others and democracy and fiercely defended what is right.

At age eleven Carrie Fisher was copying lines from Maugham’s Of Human Bondage into her diary. She dropped out of high school after becoming a chorus girl in her mother’s Broadway show Irene and made her movie debut as a teenager who sleeps with Warren Beatty in Shampoo. She attended London’s Central School of Speech and Drama and at eighteen got a leading part in a science-fiction film called Star Wars that made her character, Princess Leia Organa, a pop-culture heroine.
We meet her at her rustic L.A. ranch house, where a blue neon VACANCY sign hangs outside the kitchen door. She is wearing black-based striped pants, a deep fuchsia sweater, and unmatched earrings—one an oversize face and the other a small globe of the earth. Fisher’s secretary sits in the kitchen answering fan mail, her housekeeper does the laundry, and a friend talks to Fisher’s myna bird.
Our conversation moves to various settings: on the wooden swing in her bedroom, in the backyard between the pool and the full-size plastic cow (a sign at the front gate warns BEWARE OF THE COW), on a drive to Knott’s Berry Farm in her blue BMW with Bruce Springsteen blasting in the background. Her life is proof of her favorite T-shirt of the moment: IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO HAVE A HAPPY CHILDHOOD.
On Being America’s Niece
“I can have an entire country of people come up to me and say, ‘You have your mother’s eyes, your father’s nose, your mother’s mouth, your first stepmother’s legs.’ I grew up in a big small town called America. My parents were ‘America’s Sweethearts,’ and I think I’m ‘America’s Niece.’ I look like your niece, someone who you could bring home to your whole family and it would work.”
How She Picked Her Parents
“Early on, people used to ask me, ‘What’s it like to be Debbie Reynolds’s daughter?’ And I would say, ‘You mean compared to when I wasn’t?’ That portion of time when I lived with the Andersons and then moved in with the Wilsons for a while; you know, to sample each form of growing up—being an accountant’s kid and a car salesman’s kid and so on—until I finally arrived at being a movie star’s kid, liked that, and said, ‘Let’s stay here, this is fabulous, we’ll go with this one.’”

“A few years ago I found these scrapbooks of my parents’ breakup in my mother’s attic—someone had actually compiled them and sent them to her at the time. I looked through them and discovered a lot of things I didn’t know about it, which is an amazing thing to do when you’re sliding through your twenties and your parents have been broken up your entire life. I realize now, of course, that they’ll never get back together. And now I hear that the child of the woman who sent these things to my mother is compiling the scrapbook on my marriage to Paul.”

We were still up at 8:00 in the morning after this whole night at the police station, my brother was in the hospital, Picasso was dead, and all these photographers were at our door because the big story, in all the confusion, was that my mother had shot my brother, and she and I were discussing why she’d done it: ‘Well, you know, he wouldn’t clean his room.’ Or, ‘He never fed his turtle or brushed his teeth, so I finally had to penalize him in a way he’d understand.’ Someone came up to her in the hospital and said he thought it was a publicity stunt for her play Irene, and she said, ‘Yes, I shot him, and I only have one other child to shoot for publicity for the next play, so obviously there’s just one play left.’”

“A good actor would have this thing down of not looking so expectant between sentences. You have to conceal the fact that you are waiting to talk, and look like you’re listening. Okay @hoarding-stories tagged me in this like several weeks ago and it’s been sitting in my drafts ever since but here we go. The “ten DIFFERENT things” really killed me here, but maybe its good, because otherwise there would be at least 3 critical role characters on here and it’s good to get some diversity. I’m also counting the different campaigns of critical role and dimension 20 as part of the same “thing.”
Name ten favorite characters from ten different things (books, tv, film, etc.) then tag ten people.
1. Fjord from Critical Role. Shocking no one who follows this blog. But I have loved this character since the second he opened his mouth and I feel it is a genuine honor to get to watch the journey he is going on in this show. He’s just the right mix of practical and chaotic, so good hearted while still being a deeply flawed character, and I just love him so much.
2. Riz Gukgak from Fantasy High. I maintain that Kristen and Gorgug were the characters I loved as soon as I saw, Fig Fabian and Adaine were the ones who I was skeptical of at first but came to love and appreciate as I saw their depths later in the season, and Riz was somehow both. I love his cleverness and his determination and his love for everyone around him, and the scene where he got his dad’s message is the one time in the show that I fully cried. Chaotic good, bitch!
3. Hardwon Surefoot from Not Another DnD Podcast. Jake Hurwitz came into MY house and created a character who is brave and tough and also a dumbass with a pride problem, and who is kind of an asshole but is gradually softening due to his sunshiney found family. And then he had him break down in tears as soon as he was alone because he was so worried about Moonshine getting Crick Rot and at that point it was all over for me.
4. Reynie Muldoon from the Mysterious Benedict Society. Moving on from TTRPG characters now, I re-read these books at the beginning of the summer so just how good they are and just how much I love Reynie are very fresh in my mind. I love how good he tries to be in every way, and I so appreciate how his intuitive and emotional intelligence is shown as being a huge asset to the team. [[And, side-note, if you’ve never read these books or haven’t read them in a long time I very much suggest you do because it’s one of those series where as a kid you’re like “look at these kids kicking ass!” and then as an adult you’re like “oh my god, they’re eleven years old” but with this series it’s still an equally enjoyable experience because all the adults in the series try really, really hard to protect the kids and keep them out of danger so it just raises the stakes that the kids end up in danger anyway instead of breaking immersion, you feel me?]]
5. Lucy Pevensie from the Chronicles of Narnia. Lucy is the light of my life!!!!!!!!! The Narnia books are so so so important to me, and I adore how much Lucy radiates light and hope and wisdom. And I fully have a crush on Georgie Henley so there’s that too.
6. Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things. MY FUCKING GIRL. Nancy Wheeler is STRONG and BRAVE and TENDER and so fucking smart, like this girl is ALWAYS the one who puts the pieces together and figures out the mystery before everyone else and no one NOTICES and ALSO her fear reaction is to just start shooting whatever the threat is and i LOVE HER
7. Peter Quill from Guardians of the Galaxy. This might be my hottest take, especially post-Infinity War, but Peter Quill is brave and goofy and thinks with his heart instead of his head, and I really love him. He’s an automatic leader, and he loves his friends and Gamora so much, and he didn’t even think twice about sacrificing his life for the world galaxy, like, multiple times. I’m so excited to possibly see him play off Thor in GOTG3 but I am also very worried that he’s gonna get overshadowed by Thor in his own movie and that would make me upset.
8. Dipper Pines from Gravity Falls. Dipper is the BEST and I do not take constructive criticism. Finds a mysterious book in the woods and instantly goes, “ah, I am a monster hunter now.” Is twelve years old and would literally die for his sister. Survives the Weirdpocalypse for days by himself. I love him so much.
9. Ginny Weasley from the Harry Potter books. Not that I hate the movies or anything, but if we’re talking favorite characters we have to talk book Ginny because she really is That Bitch. Popular friendly cool Gryffindor and Qudditch star? Always standing up for her friends? Dealt with the trauma of being mild-controlled by Voldemort at the age of 11? Reacted to her school being taken over by evil wizards by forming an underground resistance group? The definition of Chaotic Good? We have no CHOICE but to stan.
10. Leia Organa from Star Wars. I couldn’t have this list without the first character I ever remember adoring on it. Love my space princess and love having badass female role models and love Carrie Fisher <3
