angst, hurt without comfort, break up, reader is in shambles

an: that's definitely not my best work so im really sorry for any mistakes >< nonetheless i hope you'll enjoy it, bc in my head the idea was pretty cool :3 also, the paragraphs written in italic are the memories, i dont know if i made it clear enough😭

“yn, don’t make it even harder,” hyunjin whispered as he glanced at your face. you must’ve looked truly pathetic - the tears were making their way down your red, puffy face and you were sobbing loudly. you couldn’t believe what had just happened - did he really break up with you or was it just a bad dream?

“hyune- baby, please, i-” you stuttered, gasping for air in between sobs.

“i’ve made my decision. goodbye, yn.” with that he closed the door, leaving you on the floor of your apartment. your vision was blurry and you were too weak to even get up. that day you fell asleep on the floor by the entrance, foolishly hoping that hyunjin would come back to you.

you recalled the memory, stepping out of the shower. it was the first time in a week when you decided to take care of yourself after hyunjin broke up with you. it’d been a hard week, but you couldn’t remember much anyway. the only thing you knew was the pain in your chest as if your heart was ripped from your body.

you didn’t bother to put on any clothes or to brush your damp hair since you headed straight to bed. you dropped your tired, achy body on the messy beddings and you shivered. it’d been raining for the past few days and you wondered if the sun had peeked into your bedroom through the curtains and told the clouds to match your mood so you wouldn’t feel lonely. you curled yourself into a ball, placing your hands on your shoulders as the raindrops pattered softly on your window. tap, tap, tap, the rhythm of the rain made your finger move faintly against your shoulder and suddenly the memories flooded your brain.

you felt someone tapping your shoulder and you yelped, blushing instantly as you realised you made too much noise in the library.

“sorry! sorry, i just-” the boy started hesitantly, whisper-yelling the apology. “are going to use that book?” he pointed to the textbook you were holding firmly in your hands. you nodded.

“oh, okay, sorry for bothering you!” he said with a frown and started walking away.

“wait! you can join me if also need it,” you suggested with a shy smile and he stopped in his tracks, turning around to you with a grin.

your hand wandered down your body, stopping at the waist. you squeezed it once, just like hyunjin used to do. a few tears made their way down your face.

“we passed!” hyunjin exclaimed as he ran to you with a piece of paper in his hand. you grinned at him as he stopped right in front of you, proudly showing you his score.

“congrats, hyune! are you going to-” you started but never finished as he suddenly grabbed your waist and picked you up, spinning you around, and you giggled. when he put you down he still firmly held your waist with one hand, squeezing it.

“let’s go and eat something, hm? my treat,” he said and you just smiled, letting him lead the way.

you squeezed your eyes, loud sobs now leaving your body as you remembered how happy you two used to be together. the rain outside intensified, turning into a downpour, and it made you feel even worse. “stop crying” you thought. “show the sun you’re okay so the clouds won’t have to suffer anymore.”

you moved your hand to wipe your wet cheek, but you just rested it there, suddenly remembering how hyunjin used to cradle your face.

“look, i can hold the whole world in my hands,” he whispered, looking you deeply in the eyes as his hands held your cheeks. you blushed and playfully hit him in the arm.

“stop being cheesy,” you whined, dropping your eyes because hyunjin’s gaze was too piercing for you. he giggled at your words and kissed your forehead.

“i just really love you, you know?” he then said and you hid your red face in the crook of his neck, breathing his cologne and relaxing completely as his arms protected you from the outside world. in that moment you felt complete.

a long wail left your body. it hurt, it hurt so much you thought you weren’t going to make it. what was left for you anyway? there was no one who could hug you after a long day, no one who could wait for you with warm dinner, no one who loved you.

you brought your hand to your hair, desperately trying to comb through them as hyunjin used to whenever you felt too overwhelmed. you grazed your nails on your scalp, imitating his movements, but it only increased the pain. you didn’t know how to treat yourself anymore - you gave all of you to hyunjin and as he left he took your heart with him, leaving you with the void that nothing and no one could ever fill again.

you wrapped your arms around your body again, squeezing yourself as hard as you could, but you soon realised only hyunjin could embrace you tightly enough for all the broken parts of you to fall back into place. with the day he left you you became a stranger to yourself.

note: hihihi, LFMAOAOA OK SO, idk where the idea came from but is so fucking random i swear 😭, i also chose hyunjin for this bc his dramatic ass is perfect for this silly scenario, hope u enjoy!

you came out of the shower, cheeks flushed from the hot water and hair smelling like your favorite fruit scented shampoo. once you had on some comfy pajamas on you walked towards your bedroom–were hyunjin was ofc.

“you took like five years” his back was resting on the bed’s headboard, he had been reading a book or something while you were showering.

“shut up” you threw him the little towel you were using to dry your hair as you just fell on top of the bed, letting a big sigh out “im so jealous of you right now” you said with your face buried in the soft pillows.

“first of all, how dare you throw your dirty towel on my beautiful face,” the disgusted face he made was crazy “and second, jealous of?”

you sat up, tugging your hair behind your ears before taking a deep breath “wait hold on before you say anything” he put the book aside and stretched, giving you that ‘let it out’ stare.

“it’s not that bad, it’s just..” you played with your hands but soon stopped when you remembered you were talking to hyunjin, the mf knows everything about you so why would you be ashamed of sharing this?

“i’m on my period, i’m cramping so fucking bad, and like do you know what is it to have to deal with cramps? imagine you are peacefully sleeping, on a friday night after eating the most scrumptious pizza ever and you feel like your life is perfect because oh man, what can go wrong? i just ate and i’m happy and i’m sleeping. WELL NO! A FUCKING CRAMP THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY TO SHOW UP IN MY SLEEP AND WAKE ME UP!” you slapped the mattress, okay well you maybe had to let some things out.

“AND YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I STOOD UP MY BED AFTER I WAS AWAKENED BY THAT BITCH? A BIG, oh hyunjin when i tell you it was big is because it was. A BIG ASS RED-“

“OKAY NO NEED TO GET SPECIFIC I GET IT, BREATHE” he caressed you back to comfort you.

he couldn’t help it but laugh at the way you were trying to catch your breath “come here” he patted his lap as in a way of telling you to rest your head on it, so you did. “you’re crazy” he said while playing with your now not so wet hair.

“it’s just so annoying sometimes like ugh”

“i can’t say i relate like i always do, but you’ll be fine. it’s normal, just make sure to rest and not be climbing the walls like the weird creature you are, yea?” he whispered and kept playing with you hair.

“hm, i guess”

you stayed for a while like this; completely spacing out and staring at the ceiling while your head rested on his thighs until he broke the silence “so, why were you jealous of me?”

you quickly lifted your head from his lap and sat again “oh yea, well i was ‘jealous’ because you don’t get periods? duh” his lips were in a ‘o’ shape and he nodded.

“so? that’s it?” his eyebrows furrowed as he was expecting you to say something else.

“yeaaa? wait oh my god”

“oh god please no”

“LATE NIGHT TALK!”

you both spent the night talking and giggling about the most random stuff, but you enjoyed this, everything started because of your tiny rent about being sick and tired of menstruating. but for some reason a question popped up in your mind, yall were talking about anything. so, why don’t kill the curiosity and approach the moment by asking?

“hyunjin”

“hm?”

“do you like having a dick.” you said with a straight face, you were seriously trying not to laugh, you truly wanted to know.

“HUH?!” his answer made you burst out of laughter, his ears turned bright pink. cute.

“LISTEN, GOD WHY ARE YOU BLUSHING? IT WAS JUST A QUESTION”

“WELL I DONT GET ASKED THAT EVERYDAY, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?”

“WHY ARE WE YELLING?!”

“okay let’s calm down” he gulped and waited for you to speak again.

“hyunjin, do you like having a dick?” you said with a tiny smile, as soon as he heard you he started massaging his temple.

“FINE,” he looked around as if there was people in the room and as if it was some confidential information what he was about to say “it’s cool i guess”

“pft, you guess?” he just shrugged but you wanted him to say more “cmonnnn, for example; if i had a dick-“

you spent like an hour or so telling hyunjin about what you asked han, plus more tea yall spilled through the conversation, which was enough for you to forget about the initial goal. as soon as you remembered you tapped his shoulder.

“just go to sleep, we’ve talked enough, it’s two in the morning” he said and it’s not like you’re dumb to not know he was fake-yawning too. you rolled your eyes and covered your body with the blanket. still curious, kind of mad, and not wanting to sleep since the talking had shaken your tiredness away.

he let out a deep breath when he felt your body relax underneath the blanket, he thought you had finally fallen asleep and-

— i honestly feel like despite being an amazing lyricist, ryan probably struggles with actually saying things to comfort someone or talk to them.

— he’s probably dealt with how own anxiety and knows how it can hit randomly or what can bring it on and he knows how to deal with it

BG3 Headcannons: Halsin's Daughter PT3 (Love Interests)

Hey hi, I'm back again for my nightly post! I dunno man, there's just something so therapeutic about writing out my ideas and stories and sharing them ❤️

So please note; all love interests are adults. I know some of these characters in the game are kids right now - this is like 10 years (ish. add more years if you like) after the events of BG3.

ALSO: I dont have a name for her yet - so imma just call her HD for right now. I would appreciate any suggestions for names.

Mol:

Mol and Halsin's daughter would be the most chaotic power couple ever.

Double trouble and extremely mischeivious

Would probably accidently set the city on fire

Mol would be like "Oops. Well shit, thats my que to go" while running and dragging HD along

HD would probably be hysterically crying and exclaiming that she didn't think knocking over one small candle would set the whole city ablaze

10/10 would do a horribly planned bank heist; HD is definitely one to steal from the rich/evil and give to the poor. Also - she just can't help that she does like nice things.

Again: she's sweet but is definitely an asshole if you're deserving of it; don't be a dick and don't get on her bad side

They would be a couple that would like witty banter and insults - it's VERY flirtatious tho

Arabella:

The sweet book nerd couple

They would love to cuddle up next to the fireplace together and read

Arrabella would definitely be the more responsible one in the relationship

Likes to kiss each other's noses

Love language is giving each other small thoughtful gifts

They leave each other little love notes in their bags

Mol + Arabella (the polycule):

The balanced power team

They keep each other in check and out of trouble

Arabella is 100% the mom of the group; always prepared, always shooting down HD and Mol's dumb implusive plans

Mol is the captain of the dumb plans; HD follows

HD is the glue that binds them together

Every night is the best girl's night; it's like having a sleep over all the time

HD shows them love via making the best meals for them; always making sure that they have snacks in their bags

M: Well. I thought throwing down grease would slow down the guards and klutz over there knocked over a candle

HD: It was an accident I swear! 😭

M: Dude you slipped in the grease and then grabbed onto the candle stand to try to save yourself; fell anways and kept slipping multiple times

Dammon: (Okay this is probably my favorite one. )

Met him when she went to Last Light Inn; he was there for his monthly visit to sell his wares

She was looking for a quiet place to hide and clean some of her cuts; not wanting to make her father worry about her losing control in wild shape. She's crying and freaking out a little bit - she just brutally tore apart a deer. It didn't need to die that way. She has no idea what came over her

Dammon had just come back from grabbing food in the Inn - when he could hear cryng in one of the animal stalls.

He finds here there, surprised. He nose and her cheeks are red from crying, tears are still welling up in her doe eyes. He notices she's covered in blood AND scars from her life in the underdark.

He grabs a warm damp rag and gently wipes her tears and the blood on her face. She begs him not to tell Halsin . He doesn't.

He grabs a blanket and wraps it around her. He sits next to her and tells her he's there to listen if she wants to talk

Normally she wouldn't speak of her problems to strangers, but something about Dammon's gentle tone and facial expression makes her spill her heart

From then on out; she makes sure to bring him his meals to his little forge; he works so hard that sometimes he forgets to eat

They get really close and their first kiss was very tender and sweet.

She playfully grabs one of his tools; he tells her to give it back but she giggles and runs behind his work table. He chases her around the table and catches her by the waist and places her on the table. (In my head, she's actually really small and petite, but her wildshapes are monsterous)

He hesitates a little bit but everything about her is just so damn cute. Not to mention she is absolutely beautiful. Her skin is perfect, a pale blue that makes her cheeks look bright and rosy when she blushes. She's batting her long eyelashes and looking at him with her doe eyes - the color of caramel. Her silver hair is half up but small pieces are perfectly framing her face.

Dammon swears she could be a drow princess. She's perfection.

He goes for it; even though he may get a threat or two from Halsin

How does Halsin feel about her and her possible love interests:

I aint gonna lie the man is probably super over protective of her

She may be an adult (an old lady even) in human years; but is essentially still considered a young and naive child to elves.

He more than likely is this protective because he feels like he's failed her; He wasn't there for most of her life and because of that she was subjected to the worst tortues and abuse

His blood boils when he thinks about her mother selling HD's body for political gain and favors

If they were ever out and about and someone was eyeing her or getting a little too flirtatious, they would recieve a death glare from him

He refuses to let anyone ever take advantage of her again

Why I like them: He turned out to be a much more complicated character than he seemed to be on the surface. It took me until his literal last scene in the game to realize this but damn if that scene didn't paint all of his actions in a new light. Like yeah he's still a bastard but you saw WHY he became the way he did. How easily it all could have been avoided. How he and Hendrik deserved the chance to move past the lies that poisoned their relationship without him having to be a ghost living in his armor. It hurt in a weird way. He became my first true character hyperfixation and honestly opened my mind to engaging with fiction in a whole new way. No one deserves to be painted in the Crying Lucifer Painting pose more than him lol

Why I don’t: I will forever have a chip in my shoulder that he didn't get a redemption arc, sorrynotsorry. Even Party Chat tries to desperately downplay the significance of the armor scene if you check it on the now-memorial balcony. On a lighter note the fact I missed 99.9% of the Piers fandom is entirely his fault because I was too busy hyperfixating on him lol. Also, the classism. The classism is bad, mkay? :P

Favorite line: His melodramatic evil speech in the throne room where he lists love first as something he's given up on is hard to beat. Also his final line in the game being "we will never be apart again'...yeah 🥲😭

Favorite outfit: The evil queen ensemble. It's so...very. Exactly the sort of thing a raging disaster gay that designs his own outfits (according to the character book) that's devoted himself to eeevil would wear.

OTP: He literally only makes sense as a character if you assume he was extremely, painfully gay for Hendrik and sublimating it in a WEIRD way. And Hendrik certainly showed enough signs of feeling the same way (the way he clutches his necklace to his chest after his death in the first timeline...) Mordegon and Heliodor's toxic monarchy just got in the way...

Brotp: Jade was apparently just as close to him as she was to Hendrik but the game NEVER EXPLORES THIS AT ALL. Also I think he and Sylvando could have been absolute terrors together lol. And I've always liked the headcanons where he and Mia bond over their shared pain and rage at their (perceived) abandonment.

Head Canon: Quite a few, so I'll just share one that he wrote the MOST emo poetry as a pining teen, something he will never admit to on pain of death as an adult. I'll also bring up the fact he's successfully taken over the world but still paying for cake as proof he's not as happy as he thought he'd be and eating his feelings about it in Act 2 lol

Unpopular opinion: No one reads deeply enough into him, everyone takes the bullshit he tells himself at face value even when he directly contradicts himself *eyetwitch* I often suspected I was literally the only person right about him lol. Also, the Gay Armor Marriage was incredibly touching, but not enough. He shouldn't have died at all. Also while I've read Jasper/Sylvando fic and enjoyed it before I don't really ship him or Hendrik with Sylv myself which kinda feels like a minority take in this fandom

A wish: At this point I can only hope he gets the Psaro treatment where his death is avoided entirely when the game is rereleased in like 25 years

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: I honestly don't want Square to revisit him, they treated him so harshly compared to other villains of the same caliber that pretty much got away with everything so yeah, just leave the angry wet cat man alone guys...
