just got home from seeing a theater production of Mary Poppins with my mum-- it was really cool!! I've never watched the movie through the whole way so I've had no idea how half of the movie goes for over two decades, now I can at least saw I know :'D but man it was really fantastic, from the choreography to the harness theatrics (the way the guy walked UP the wall and upside down across the roof was really smoothly done, as was the fly-by over the audience at the end-- I didn't realise the tracks went quite that far out past the stage!) to the set design (god I could talk about this for hours; one my favourites was a background screen painted to look like the room was tilted back at a wide angle, but the best was the main house display which was quite literally full of layers-- every number it was used in there was another way the actors could pass through it and it was cool af like "man there's ANOTHER pathway below the staircase??" or when a panel flipped on the mantlepiece to swap props out and it's like "I couldn't even see that there WAS a panel there!!"... incredibly detail-dense and I loved pondering how most of them tick)..................... like man it was all so good I can't even, it was real fun to watch and I bet it was an interesting one to perform from an actor or stagehand's perspective /////// also loved that when the bird lady finished her last solo before the end, she got a loud enthusiastic "WOOOOOOOOO" from one part of the audience which was really sweet, she probably got the biggest applause of the night aside from the lead lol

seriously have been thinking about this all night long. call me autistic but the fact that 90% of workplaces the point is not to get your work done and then be done doing it but to instead perform an elaborate social dance in which you find something to do even when you're done doing everything you need to do in order to show your fellow workers that you, too, are Working . because you are at Work . disgusting why cant we all agree that if there is no work immediately to be done. we just dont do anything

god I hope so, I desperately want to see Briar Valley and whatever family member they throw at us. and if it's Baul I hope he's the exact same sprite but with, like, a mustache crudely pasted on. that's how he looks in my head and in my heart.

my entire KINGDOM to see one or both of Sebek's parents though, they are the best characters in all of Twst and they haven't shown up even once. 😭 though I think I might prefer his dad, because 1) show me the noodley dentistman, and 2) Mrs. Z is such a mythical figure in my mind at this point that reality could never compare (w-what if she gets a canon design and she isn't a hundred feet tall and could crack the earth by flexing her thighs, how could I go on) (jk jk she's so great that I would love her no matter what) (but also...)

The fact that Judaism is trending because of both the wave of bomb threats on synagogues and Bradley Cooper's Antisemitism Adventure (his huge fake prosthetic nose, and him basically stealing the story from a Jewish man) is so infuriating and so exhaustingly typical.

The fact that I see Judaism trending on Tumblr and immediately think "oh no. Something Bad is happening to us." We're never trending cause it's fucking good. I never get to be excited, it's just cold dread.

The fact that Antisemitism is getting worse everyday and the only ones who ever talk about it are other Jews. The fact that no one else fucking cares. The only ones who support us are other Jews. Even when gentiles talk about Nazis or white supremacists they don't want to help us. We're just their prop, the canary in the coal mine and the perfect victim.

The fact that everyone's uncomfortable with Jews still being here. Reminding them of things they'd rather forget.

The fact that it'd be easier for them if we were all dead. Then they could tell stories about our people, dressed in offensive caricatures, without us making a fuss.

Wow. That could not have turned out worse.
