First Impressions ➺ Changbin
; summary: you’re a simple lady. you see a guy that smells like suspicion and your interest in him immediately fades away. while thats the case most of the time, one guy in particular sticks out, but according to your friend, what they appear at first may not be what they truly are once you get to know them.
; genre: romance, fluff
; pairing: seo changbin x fem!reader
; word count: 3.6k
; warnings: nothing to warn about
; notes: this piece of cringey fluff was written during pre-debut stray kids which means a lot of the assumptions and basic info in this story was run on a baby changbin image. enjoy!
Tumblr media
You were one of those types of people who wasn’t interested in relationships and dating.
Finding a loved one while you studied at your school was never your first priority.
It was so common nowadays to find one of your best friends or plenty of your class mates from science and maths class to walk around the campus grounds with arms linked with another guy. Whether they walked through the corridors hand in hand, leaning against the wall with one earbud in each ear, or a small peck on the lips you’d catch in your corner of your eye, most, if not all of the people you knew were in a mutual romantic relationship with somebody else.
Many of your friends have considered putting you up in a blind date in hopes of finding the right person for you although you gladly objected. They’ve always wondered why you didn’t want to date anyone, if not for a fact, many guys at your school had wanted to talk to you, only to realize that you weren’t interested in getting a boyfriend yet.
You weren’t the idealist of girls. You had your flaws here and there and didn’t hesitate to show those who wished to get you to tell them that they were wrong and need to pick a better woman. You were a little introverted, you were pretty great at most things and you wouldn’t consider yourself the highly educated one.
One of your worst flaws would be your clumsiness. Whether you tripped and flung your books out of your hands, trying to carry a load of paper only to drop them in the campus fountain, you were trouble but no one would really believe it behind that innocent face of yours.
If anything, if you were to search for the perfect guy, nothing could beat the odds of an intelligent, gentle, caring, handsome and happy guy. Anything below that, if they fought a lot with people or misbehaved many times, they were immediately checked off your list.
You just didn’t think you were ready for that ideal man of yours to fall in love with a less than perfect madame if it ever came to be despite your high expectations never being reached.
There was indeed one of those guys in your school, roaming around the corridors with a blank gaze and dark clothes as if to put of the “bad boy” image. Many girls loved him, but he treated them like a pile of trash.
It basically meant he was single as well.
You couldn’t help but doze your restless mind into a sense of peace and calmness, resting your chin on the palm of your hands, only to get a set of snapping fingers in front of your face bring you to reality.
You shook your head, looking around before finding your class mate and best friend Chaerin snickering and letting out a deep sigh.
“You keep daydreaming like a fool Y/N.” She protested, as if lecturing you like a teacher. “It’s like you’ve been sent to a fantasy land and found your love at first sight.”
“Don’t be crazy, I was just really tired and needed some rest and that was all I got.” You told her back, placing your soft and smooth hands on the table in front of you and brushing your thumbs against one another.
She happily joked, giving you an, “I-know-what-you-were-thinking” look and playfully slapped your shoulder.
“Don’t play sassy on me Y/N. I know you were definitely thinking of something and someone so you can’t hide behind your crab shell forever.” She gave a small smile of mischief. “I know what you were thinking and don’t hold back.”
“No, you don’t. I told you before and a million times more, I have no interest with anyone and I will not be set up in one of your blind dates again. I said to basically everyone in the school that I can only begin to date someone only after I graduate.”
Chaerin settled back on the backrest of her chair and pleaded like a little child. “Come on! Graduation is so far away! You need to get a boyfriend already!”
“Look Chaerin, I’m not going to deal with boys again and I will repeat, I will NOT date anyone only until the end of gradu—”
You raised your finger at Chaerin and stared into her eyes with a fierce look of frustration, only for the school bell to ring across the campus and stop your conversation mid-way.
Without a chance to finish your sentence as soon as the bell went, you heard a loud shriek or a bundle of screams of some sort roaring through the corridors closes to the table you sat at. Watching in horror along with Chaerin as a stampede of girls ran to crowd a certain student, they screamed out their name, attempting to get closer to them as they made their way through with the exception of females crowding the whole place. It almost felt like a concert, noises thrashing everywhere like fan girls as they followed the person.
“Changbin! You’re so handsome!”
“I’ll give up my boyfriend for you!”
“You are so talented, you’re so handsome, I think I’m going to die!”
“Marry me Changbin! I’ll cook for you, love you, I’ll do anything to be with you!”
“I’m right here Changbin! Notice me!”
Watching as they all followed him through the corridor, with all the loud noises and voices of the females screaming into your ear, you knew exactly who it was that they were following.
Seo Changbin, that “bad boy” you were mentioning before.
Losing your focus on the crowd of girls, you shook yourself awake when you notice Chaerin began to pack her stuff away and head to her locker, you looking up and grabbing your things behind her.
“They’re pretty desperate to be with such an ignorant guy like him,” You could only mutter underneath your breath, walking to your locker beside Chaerin’s and unlocked it, only to have a mountain full of books fall right onto your face.
Crashing to the floor and regaining your senses, some students who were retrieving their items for their class giggled and laughed at you on the floor, making you look at Chaerin who could only giggle softly at your face on impact as she bent down to help you pick up your books.
“And that’s why you don’t bad mouth handsome people.” She sniffed and grabbed a mound full of your books, stuffing it safely into your locker as you could only let out a shy chuckle. You rubbed your nose in pain and picked up the remaining books, pulling out your history books for class later before closing your locker.
“He’s not that handsome to me, he’s just a show off and doesn’t look too good in school. I mean, he wears dark colours all the time underneath his school uniform and he has this grim expression on his face 24/7.”
“I’m not to keen about that, but you say what you wanna say. He’s still single you know so he may be your future husband.” Chaerin let out a sneaky smirk in the corner of her lips as you furrowed your eyebrows, grasping your books in your arms.
“It seems like this is where we depart. I’ll be off now Chaerin!” You could only answer to her, waving to her with a grin as she smiled and waved back, heading in the opposite direction to your classroom as her back turned towards you.
Letting out a general sigh, you couldn’t help but feel a bit lonely walking by yourself towards your class. Step by step, you’ve almost yearned for company ever since people started to get their boyfriends and girlfriends. If not for such a surprise, all of them were paired up with each other for every class. With the tap of your shoes clapping against the tiled floor, you were met with the door of your history class, opening it wide and being greeted with a bunch of familiar faces.
Behind all of those recognizable faces was one you had never wished to see.
Seo Changbin.
“I’d like you all to make sure the notes you have taken are placed in a good spot. Please don’t lose those notes as they will help you a lot in the upcoming test that will happen in the next month or so.” Your history teacher, Mr. Lee had explained to the class as soon as the bell had gone and students were already up to pack their things.
As a small smile grew on the corners of your peach coloured lips, you closed your books and packed them into a neat pile with your pencilcase and other belongings, leaving them on your desk as you began to pull out your phone to text Chaerin.
CutieChu: Will you be free at 2:40?
Holychae: I don’t think I can today. Jisung planned on taking me to the nearest cafe earlier after school so I won’t be able to meet you. I’ll meet up another time, maybe next week
CutieChu: that’s alright I guess. Im a little occupied today so I probably wont make it either
CutieChu: See you next week!
Holychae: bye~
Within a few seconds, Chaerin had replied with the most expected response you knew you would’ve gotten. Chaerin had a close relationship with her boyfriend Jisung and she never spent time with him a lot. You known about the distance between them after she told you whether or not to break up to spent more friend time, but you knew that her love for him meant a lot more than your friendship bond.
Slipping your phone into the pocket of your skirt, you noticed only a few students staying in to copy their notes on the board or to chat for a few minutes before heading for home. It was spacious but otherwise, only a few intended to stay for the time being.
Grabbing hold of your books and pencil in the other hand, Mr. Lee had stayed for a little while before leaving.
“I’d like everyone but Changbin and Y/N to stay inside the class please.”
With all the remaining students who were talking to each other finally exiting out the classroom, you were in utter shock when your history teacher had called out your name along with your long time distant classmate.
You placed your books on the desk, in absolute shock as you glanced over at where Changbin was sitting. With his back resting on the chair, legs crossed over the top of his desk, he pressed his fingers on his phone screen multiple times as if he was texting someone.
It was hard to imagine a good person from his image. His dark clothing was worn everywhere, his black hair ruffled to look messy and untouched, the way he sat in class the whole time writing in his small note book to make it look like he was studying was making your first impressions on him a lot more frightening.
“I know what you are thinking Y/N.” Mr. Lee chuckled, snapping you out of reality when you turned to him and noticed a smile on his face.
“You’re not in trouble of any kind. You have done absolutely nothing wrong to get yourself here.”
“Why am I staying back?” You could only asked up quietly, seeing that it was just you, Changbin and Mr. Lee listening to your voice. If you had spoken in a higher tone, you could tell that Changbin would look down on you and left the room because he didn’t want to here your ignorance.
You watched as he peered over at Changbin for a few seconds, before turning to you.
“I kept you both in here because as per usual, we have a new list of students who need to stay back every class for that week to clean up the classrooms. Seeing that it is indeed Friday today, we need a new list of students and it turns out that both of you will be cleaning the room for today and next week.”
Without thinking, your mouth opened wide at the words he had spoken to you, jaw dropping in disbelief as you had forgotten about the clean up duty students.
You had to be paired with him.
Mr. Lee didn’t hesistate to smile at you both before walking towards the tall locker in the back of the room, pulling out his keys and opening the doors to reveal two tall broom sticks, two mops, two pairs of gloves and some sponges.
“Here are the equipment. So I’ll be leaving you both to it, and I know you both will do a great job at this. I’ll return to this room to see if it’s spotless within 20 minutes.”
With that being said, Mr Lee turned to both us with deadpanned expressions on our faces as he nodded in approval, opening the classroom door and leaving, closing it behind him.
Obviously worked up in the current situation you were in, you couldn’t help but sigh loudly, pulling out your chair and let your face slump down right on the surface of your table.
“I was paired with him… the school’s bad boy…”
Getting right into work, you didn’t want to waste time and immediately thought about home, keeping your hopes up and lifting your head off the table. Before you could stand up to head towards the open locker for the cleaning equipment, you’re eyes landed on Changbin who was still in his seat, texting as usual and often writing in his notes, growling roughly with earbuds stuck in his ears.
“Guess he’s not cleaning. Extra minutes for me, I guess.” You sarcastically cheered yourself in a whisper tone in hopes of not letting Changbin hear you over the music in his ears.
Shaking his head to a constant beat, you stood up from your seat and walked over to the equipment, grabbing only one of the brooms in the locker before closing it, starting your clean up and turning around, only to be faced with contact almost like a broad chest.
“Sorry, I just thought, you might’ve gotten the broom for me…” You heard a masculine voice deeply apologies to you. You looked up and widened your eyes at the sudden appearance of Changbin where you accidentally bumped into his chest earlier, out of his seat and apologizing with an empty expression.
“A-Ah, sorry about that, I didn’t think you’d be cleaning with me…” You looked down and shuffled around him, making him question your move.
“Did you think I would leave the classroom and ditch you here while you clean by yourself?” For the first time, you looked up and noticed Changbin chuckling lightly at your cute reaction to his question.
He seemed almost like a totally different person.
As the colour red began rushing up to your cheeks, Changbin smiled and pulled out the earphones and stuffed them into his pockets before grabbing a broom.
So he wasn’t listening to music at all… He was just pretending.
“So, what are you waiting for?” He asked, looking at you with these soft beady eyes that you had never seem from him, almost so mesmerizing to look at as you stayed silent for a few seconds gazing into his complexion before nodding in shyness.
There was an uncomfortable silence between the two of you, you were in one side of the room brushing up the dirt and dust particles into one pile while Changbin was in the other brushing the rocks and paper balls rolled onto the floor and into the bin. Expecting a foul language conversation from him of some sort of a snarl and him dropping his broom in frustration, he seemed to just keep his concentration on the cleaning, never going rough with the equipment around the room and brushing off any dust like a gentle touch of a paw.
He was almost treating everything like a baby, a fragile thing that shouldn’t be harmed in any way. The way his actions had surprised you completely, you instantly regretted thinking of him differently, as the boy who would steal girl’s hearts and trash them later or to treat girls like slaves and do the work for him.
It wasn’t long before you noticed Changbin seeing you space out and looking at him with gentle eyes, he stopped mopping the floor and looked at you with concern. Although you didn’t realise being in such a dazed state, Changbin walked over to you and waved his hands in front of your face.
“Umm, hello? Is earth communicating with you? Y/N to earth?” Changbin waved his hands in front of your vision, only for you to snap into reality with surprise at finding Changbin unbelievably close to your liking, making your fall back and slip under your own foot.
“Changbin!” You could only let out a cry as you felt yourself fall down and get in contact with the ground, noticing him widening his eyes in shock and dropping his mop.
Thinking that your head with come in contact with the floor made you surprised when you felt a hand go underneath them and hit the floor instead of you. Gaining your senses back after your clumsy performance, you tried to pick yourself up, only feeling a heavy weight keep your down on the floor.
Without noticing, Changbin arose from your body, letting his hand continue resting underneath your head as he looked at you with worry and concern. It was a side of his image that made him so different.
“O-Oh my goodness, a-a-are you alright Y/N?!” He let out a cry, looking at you with concern.
“I-I’m fine right now, I’m not hurt.” You stuttered, immediately sitting up and looking into his eyes that looked deeply at yours.
“I’m sorry I scared you earlier, you just spaced out and I tried to get you back to reality until you suddenly slipped.” He confessed and helped your sit up, resting his hands on your back and caressing them lightly. “I shouldn’t have done that, you could’ve hurt yourself very badly…”
“C-Changbin… I’m fine right now, you don’t need to worry about me.” You reassured him, getting up and using the table as support, picking up his mop and passing it to him.
You watched as Changbin looked at you worryingly and had these puppy dog eyes as if he knew you didn’t mean it.
“If you need the nurse, I can help you…”
“Please Changbin, I was just staring at you for too lo—” You quickly covered your mouth as soon as you realised what you said.
“You were staring at me?”
Immediately shaking your head, you tried to take back what you meant but it only resulted in him giggling it out like a little cute child.
“I didn’t think you’d be interested in me for someone who doesn’t want a boyfriend until they graduate.”
You froze for a second and noticed him winking at you before resuming his mopping.
“I-I-I ummm…” You tried to find some way to get him out of it.
“It’s okay. You may as well tell me now so then I can see if I have a chance or not.”
Looking at him with confusion, you only understood what he meant when you backed away and saw him face look at the ground with his hands rubbing his nape.
“W-Wait…” You stuttered. “You like me?”
Changbin lifted his chin and looked into your eyes with sincerity. You noticed them, the way they glittered suddenly, the beauty they had in them that you never noticed before. His smile even, it was perfect.
“I’ve liked you for awhile now. You see…” Changbin began to blabber, turning his back to you and mopped the floor while he talked.
“We’ve been in the same history class for the past year now. It’s easy to notice you because you seem so different from everyone else in the class that you’re so distinguishable. You shine from all the other girls that try to get my attention. I don’t talk to those girls because of one reason.”
“I want to talk to you more.”
As you were listening to him speak, you dropped your mop out of your hand in pure astonishment.
“I-I-I just didn’t know whether or not you would accept me for the person I am because I wear dark clothes all the time or the fact that I’m so expressionless and empty when I walk around. I just feel so lonely and I only got to smile a little when I saw you.”
“Changbin…” You muttered his name, making him look up at you.
“You could’ve told me all of this before I got to know you, I was scared to talk to you, even look at you because you were so different from everyone and you looked like someone who could ruin a girl’s life if they ever had a relationship… It should be my fault I doubted you…”
You looked down at your feet, twirling the sole of your shoe on the tiled floor as you waited for his response.
“I’m sorry I didn’t get to make you feel welcomed.”
You didn’t get time to think properly when you noticed a pair of shoes in front of yours and two arms wrapped around your body tightly, bringing you closer to their chest.
With your head close to his heart, you listened as his heartbeat was pounding roughly, almost at an inhumane pace as you tugged your arms around his waist.
“That’s how much my heart is beating for you right now. It’s hard to describe so this was all I could do…”
You closed your eyes and immersed yourself in the deep hug, feeling Changbin’s hands rest on your hair and patting it softly.
“So, will you forgive me for being so distant from you?”
“Of course Changbin, you’ve become a new person.” You smiled and pulled away, taking a look at his smile.
“So what does that make us?”
“I think ‘in love’ will do.”
“Sounds perfect.”

General Discussions: All Elite Wrestling (AEW)
Tumblr media
So with All Out happening tonight (or well, tomorrow morning for me) I’m in the mood to get a lot of AEW talk off my chest. The difference between this and previous talks ‘In (Slight) Defense of AEW’s Women’s Division’ and ‘Are AEW Planning a Second Show?’ - the latter of which seems to have been confirmed - I don’t want to talk about one sole thing, I have multiple things I wanna talk about: Criticisms, Hindsight, Signing Suggestions, Predictions and whatnot. I’m also gonna split this into two at least, we’re gonna start with some critiques (positive and negative criticism) and some hindsight talk.
Critiques So AEW has been running officially since May 2019. Meaning that half of their lifespan has happened during COVID 19′s pandemic, before I go into positive and negative criticisms I’d like this point to at least commend AEW on their action and sustainability during this time; several other brands have had to sadly close or cease programming for a long time, with ROH only just returning. AEW has done a stellar job being safe as well, only one confirmed case in QT Marshall (Moxley quarantining because of Renee’s positive case), frequent tests and having small amount of fans in the arena, this is on top of the fact that Jacksonville is also a hotspot, so currently well done on that. But AEW is far from a perfect company, no company can be. However, not all criticism is fair and I wanna vent some of that. Fair Criticism towards AEW First I wanna point out that there are things even I don’t like about AEW, because I know people will paint me as an apologist, I’d also wanna preface that there are parts of WWE I like too, and parts I don’t like. On AEW’s part though I think the fairest criticism for it is that a lot of talent slip through the cracks, COVID doesn’t help of course but talent had been kept away from the main show or not getting their due; Santana and Ortiz and the Lucha Bros should be tag champions by now, Scorpio Sky would’ve been a great TNT champion, Jurassic Express despite their popularity often seem to be on the losing end of feuds, Private Party have fell into the undercard of the tag division, Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss are sadly purposeless and Lance Archer is just floating around, Nyla and Vickie’s partnership hasn’t really gone anywhere either as of yet and Abadon has been kept from the title picture. There’s also the flip-flop booking of Shawn Spears, Jake Hager, Mel, Luther, Penelope Ford, TH2 and others. While I am gonna track back on the Women’s Division complaint it would bode better for AEW if they had more storylines, and their title was better. I mean the design is fine, it just needs to be bigger. The Picture with Shida and Cody swapping belts really sells that. Belt designs have been very up and down too, the TNT title is not good, the FTW title is a bit iffy but even that is a better design. So far only ‘Big Platinum’ and the Tag Titles are original designs without complaints. Unfair Criticism towards AEW Since a lot of people compare AEW to WWE, there will be times where people will treat them as the same, and that’s not really too fair. Case in point, big one out of the way, The Women’s Division. Wanting more from the women is fair but as I detailed they are pretty handicapped right now since many of their wrestlers are overseas, but when they make moves in a positive light they’re still criticised. Thunder Rosa (fka Kobra Moon of Lucha Underground) is great and we have a much hyped match for that. The criticisms reared its head more with the Deadly Draw and the Tooth and Nail match being in the Buy In. I’ve already discussed the benefits of the Deadly Draw in a prior post so I’m gonna focus on Swole/Baker. Now on the Main Card anyway thanks to fan response, it shouldn’t have been treated like AEW pre-shows are like WWE’s, there’s a Number 1 Contendership Battle Royale on that same Buy In, Khan has been clear that he wants people invested enough to ‘Buy in to the PPV’ so it shouldn’t be treated as a disservice.
I’d also like to segue this into a WWE comparison, because whenever AEW is on you have people tracking how many women’s segments there are. So let me run down WWE for a bit
Smackdown had 3 Women’s Bits last night (4th Sept): the Tag Match that led to FINALLY the Banks/Bayley schism, a cryptic hint towards a woman returning (rumors of Eva Marie I hope are false, maybe it’s Carmella?) and a small backstage segment between Bliss and Bayley
NXT on ‘Super Tuesday Part 1′ had 1 very short match building to the Candice/Tegan feud and a package for Ripley vs Mercedes
Raw had 2 matches and 3 segments which included a Payback rematch
Payback had 2 matches, one on the Pre-Show, both of these matches would later be rematched in the following week
Summerslam had 3 matches, only one of them not a title match and one of them being rematched on the following Raw
NXT TakeOver 30 had 1 match, a title match, including the Pre-Show
For all the criticism AEW gets for having 2-3 bits on Dynamite (which is an hour less than Raw might I add and Dark hosts consistently 3 women’s bits that nobody acknowledges simply because the matches are squashes) I never see WWE criticised in that same vein, and that’s unfair, criticise both. The main difference is that AEW do not have the ‘seasoned big star’ because they’re not that old, Mickie James, Asuka, Bliss and the Four Horsewomen didn’t just get this popular overnight, they spent years honing this craft to this audience. Would it be great for AEW to have a megastar type? Sure but business is not all that easy, who do you take? Tessa’s attitude isn’t exactly positive for business, time is what they need and it’s something people are not giving. Of the other unfair criticisms the quick and easy one is the ‘AEW is TNA 2.0′ - newsflash, most wrestlers will go through the WWE machine in some shape or form, if you complain that AEW lacks female stars because nobody is well known but criticise the men’s division for using well-known ex-WWE talent then you have to see the contradiction. Moxley has been great, Jericho has been great, Brodie has been great, it’s not like AEW aren’t promoting others either. And also the ‘VP is becoming like the McMahons’ - people think that because a wrestler is a booker that they’ll only book themselves strong, but Cody let himself get squashed by Brodie, Kenny passed out to PAC and lost to Moxley, the Bucks haven’t been tag champions and Brandi hasn’t inserted herself in any title match. Just because we’re burned by WWE doesn’t mean that AEW are the same. I am all for constructive criticism with the brand because there are certainly places where it can improve, but it keeps circling around to the fact that we put WWE as the negative standard we compare AEW to, as if WWE are literally the Simpsons of Wrestling, there’s not gonna be much they haven’t done. Hindsight Talk So with the critiques out of the way now we can talk about some missed opportunities, since it kinda pairs together with that. Nearly a year and a half and AEW is still quite different to how it started, there are some things though we could still look back in regret. The easy one is doing a more thorough background check. The SpeakingOut movement affected all of wrestling and led to the departure of Jimmy Havoc, likewise it also led to the Elite cutting ties with Joey Ryan and distancing from Marty Scurll, of course until people spoke out it would’ve been impossible to know but knowing now does make parts of All In and AEW’s history come with a sense of bitterness. A further stressing of variety would’ve helped AEW, there’s a lot of criticism when people don’t understand that things are different for a reason, comedy has a place in Wrestling, we just need a reminder. The ranking system and tag rules could still be clearer. There’s also the sooner dropping of aspects like the Nightmare Family faction with Mel and Luther with Brandi, as well as some other dropped plots like Brandi’s mental break, Allie’s affiliation with the Butcher and Blade (the latter being her irl husband) as ‘the Bunny’, Christopher Daniels’ feuds with Pentagon and the Dark Order, the initial presentation of the Dark Order, not debuting Sadie Gibbs earlier and maybe pushing Intergender wrestling a bit sooner. AEW were reluctant and a Kip/Penelope vs Kenny/Riho feud was in the works to some solid appeal, but it sadly went nowhere. The Deadly Draw could’ve been longer, but I stand by the decision to put it on Youtube. I think the TNT title tournament could’ve been longer too. The bigger regrets I personally wished from AEW are that the Lucha Bros didn’t win the tag titles first, SCU are great but Lucha Bros are next level wrestlers who are monstrously talented, given Hangman and Kenny’s blockbuster match with the Lucha Bros, it’s a shame that we didn’t have a bigger feud where the Lucha Bros took their Young Bucks feud momentum to win the whole tournament. Not signing Mercedes Martinez, Deonna Purrazo or pushing a Kong vs Kong match would also be a missed opportunity too. Hindsight is of course 2020 so we can’t be too hard on AEW, as we’ll move onto in Part 2, when we’ll talk about All Out Predictions and positive hopes for AEW’s future

FEBRUARY GG COMEBACK REVIEW
because there were so many girl group comebacks, I’m gonna do a review about them!
possibly might do this every month idk
I’ll review them on title song, album songs ( if they had an album comeback ), stage presence, outfits, music video, choreography and overall. ( I’m not gonna rate them by numbers )
GFRIEND: 回: LABYRINTH
Tumblr media
TITLE SONG: Crossroads
personally, it took me a few listens before finally liking it. but it didn’t take that long before it hooked me on. it reminds me a lot of an anime opening. my favorite part is when the music stops and yuju sings the chorus, when i first heard that on their comeback stage, it gave me chills
MUSIC VIDEO
the music video was!! amazing!! i love how it gave a movie type of feeling. i’m still new to gfriend so... but overall, the music video is really nice and it made me feel things
CHOREOGRAPHY
gfriend is also known for their choreography, and they never disappoint. i really like the choreography and how it would sometimes split to a few members on the stage then all members.
STAGE PRESENCE / STAGE OUTFITS
i really really like the presence umji gave out during this era, something about her kept drawing my attention towards her every time I watched their stage.
i also really like their outfits this era, it’s so classy. i personally like yuju in long pants/pantsuits type of outfits. also, yerin’s highlights + beret is to die for.
ALBUM SONGS
the b-sides could all be title track worthy tbh. they’re vocals are all amazing.
my personal favorites are dreamcatche, from me and labyrinth
on a side note, I really like labyrinth’s choreography
OVERALL
overall, this comeback made me stan gfriend lmao, I really like their style of music. they also have a storyline which I’m trying to keep up?? what caught my eye during this comeback was definitely umji and eunha’s pink hair + high note in labyrinth.
EVERGLOW: Reminisce
Tumblr media
TITLE SONG: DUN DUN
yiren’s “you’re so dun dun dun dun dun” part got me hooked immediately lmao, it’s just really catchy
i love love love love aisha and e:u raps, like yes rappers come through. aisha’s deep voice can k i l l
sihyeon’s beginning was definitely catchy. and I love the bridge part between her and onda
my only complain is that I wished onda could’ve gotten more lines ;-;
MUSIC VIDEO
the music video was really aesthetically pleasing, my favorite part was aisha’s part like damn girl. though I didn’t really like that face gem thing they had on yiren-
CHOREOGRAPHY
the choreography?? is just?? amazing?? i really like mia’s part of the choreography, the dance break and verses are 👌🏻
i also like the part where sihyeon sings after the dun dun, if that makes sense..
oh and I like the second chorus dance
and center onda is powerful
also I like the beginning where yiren would stomps her feet and says “everglow”
STAGE PRESENCE / STAGE OUTFITS
mia’s stage presence never disappoints, as usual. her face expressions are usually on point. but this era drew me towards e:u as well, her stage presence this era was definitely something
i love love love the black outfits ( the same ones they had in the beginning of the mv )
i also love how they gave onda outfits that stood out more, like for example the white outfits, onda was all in silver; or the red outfits where everyone wore red and black while onda was in a more different pattern
i didn’t mind that they re-used the outfits but in different colour, I thought it was way better than adios era where everyone wore the same outfits, at least this era the designs for everyone were different
ALBUM SONGS
my personal favorite is definitely “no lie”, I just wished they would promote it more than “salute”. but I felt blessed that they actually performed “no lie”, and the choreography was amazing.
yet onda and yiren really suited the “salute” concept
i personally think that the line distribution is lazy, for example “no lie” and “player”, mia is singing the chorus over and over again. it’s like the producer made her record the chorus part then just used it for the entire song and not ask a different member to record the 2nd chorus.
OVERALL
overall, I really like this comeback. my only complain is that I wish the line distribution was fairer. it’s unfair to all members, including mia. I hope that she isn’t feeling overworked because of having to sing so many lines while doing the dance break as well.
LOONA: #
Tumblr media
TITLE SONG: So What
I really like this concept on LOONA!!! i know it might seem like what other groups are doing, but this type of concept really suits them
rapper heejin!!
chuu and jinsoul’s high note tho. but I could tell during the stages where chuu was struggling to hit the high note, I hope she’s not to hard on herself
my favorite part of the song is hyunjin’s tic tac toe part, yves’s shock shock and choerry’s part in the bridge
MUSIC VIDEO
the music video is just
UGH
aMAZING
I love vivi’s part with the spray can and kim lip’s part with the red outfit
the part in the subway too!!
CHOREOGRAPHY
when I first saw the choreography, I was s h o o k. seriously, they were all in sync, it’s amazing! I literally have no words on how to explain how much I love the choreography
STAGE PRESENCE / STAGE OUTFITS
let me just tell you, yves’s stage presence this era, can literally kill someone. literally. she slayed this era with that slick back hairstyle and piercing eyes.
literally loona’s stylist deserves a goddamn R A I S E.
almost every stage was a different outfit, for 12 members!! I can’t pick a favorite outfit because all of them were amazing!!
ALBUM SONGS
for the first time, I actually like the title song so much than the other album songs
but that doesn’t mean they’re great. but if I had to choose a b-side, it’ll probably be “ding ding dong”
OVERALL
overall, this comeback was definitely not disappointing and surprising. it was also definitely first win worthy. my only complain is, you guessed it, vivi’s lines. she had a total of 3 seconds! come on BBC! also, I hope that haseul is doing fine.
IZ*ONE: Bloom*IZ
Tumblr media
TITLE SONG: FIESTA
gAH I MISSED THEM SO MUCH!!
I never liked the produce series because they gave so many kids false hope, but they groups they debuted were indeed talented and they don’t deserve all the backlash because mnet’s a snake.
but yes fiesta slaps. i’m so happy that sakura and minju are getting the lines they deserved. I really like eunbi part at the end and yuri’s bridge.
MUSIC VIDEO
the music video was definitely aesthetically pleasing to watch, especially eunbi’s angel scenes and chaeyeon’s solo scenes.
CHOREOGRAPHY
okay personally, i felt that the choreography was a bit plain for a 12 member group. i felt that “la vi en rose” and “violeta” had more diverse choreography than fiesta
but other than that, the choreography is nice and I like wonyoung’s part with the fingers and yena and eunbi’s pre-chorus parts
STAGE PRESENCE / STAGE OUTFITS
i hope the girls can perform on other stage platforms ;-;
chaewon has got my eye this era, maybe it’s because of her short hair but her presence is definitely there on stage
eunbi and chaeyeon’s stage presence never disappoints as usual
as for the outfits, I love how bright and colourful the outfits are, my personal favorite the pastel suits one
ALBUM SONGS
it’s my first time listening to an iz*one album. when I first listened to the album highlight medley, i thought i wouldn’t like it but boy was i wrong
first of all, i love how they all had sub-units so everyone had their chance to shine in the album
my personal favorites are “ayayaya”, “pink blusher” and “eyes”
OVERALL
overall, the comeback was great. i just wished that hyewon would’ve gotten more lines but I can definitely tell that all of them has improved tremendously. i hope that backlash won’t affect the girls and i hope that eunbi will get well soon.
DREAMCATCHER: Dystopia: The Tree Of Language
Tumblr media
TITLE SONG: Scream
*inhales* I LOVE DREAMCATCHER
I immediately liked the song the moment I heard it. It reminded me of Stray Kids’s “Side Effects” due to to the heavy edm drop. I really like this type of style on them.
I love gahyeon’s and dami’s “devil, eyes, come” part and rap parts
MUSIC VIDEO
dreamcatcher’s music videos are always different, they always have an element of halloween in them and I love it
this era gives me a spooky witch vibe ( especially with “red sun” )
dreamcatcher’s music is definitely a breath of fresh air
CHOREOGRAPHY
I love love love love the “devil, eyes, come” part with the hand thingy
when they do this 🤘🏻
i really like it
I also like jiu’s parts and sua being the center will literally be the death of me
OH OH OH and gahyeon’s rap part with the masks!!
STAGE PRESENCE / STAGE OUTFITS
first of all, sua and yoohyeon’s stage presence is literally incredible
sua has definitely caught my eye during this era.
as for the outfits, dreamcatcher basically re-uses the outfits in different colours but I frankly don’t mind it so
i like their outfits when they perform “red sun”, it gives out spooky witchy vibes and I’m here for that
ALBUM SONGS
again, all of dreamcatcher’s songs can literally be a title track. i can’t choose a favorite
they’re all amazing and like I said, a breath of fresh air from other groups.
seriously, they’re really underrated
OVERALL
overall, i really like this comeback. and I love how they have a masked dancer in the place of handong ( who is currently filming for idol producer in China, I hope she’s doing fine with China’s current status ). I find the gesture really sweet. I also love siyeon’s solo, “paradise”. I hope she can perform it one day.
WEKI MEKI: DAZZLE DAZZLE
Tumblr media
TITLE SONG: DAZZLE DAZZLE
the song is definitely catchy, especially the “dazzle dazzle dazzle me” part
i really like elly and suyeon’s part in the chorus
my favorite part is lua’s rap
MUSIC VIDEO
i think the music video was nice, i felt that smiley face cake was out of place
i wished that they kept the sparkly concept throughout the entire music video
CHOREOGRAPHY
the “dazzle dazzle me” part is honestly really fun to do lmao
i like the choreography for the chorus part
oh and yoojung and doyeon’s part tho-
STAGE PRESENCE / STAGE OUTFITS
elly has definitely owned this era
literally, she owns this era
and her bright blue hair help plays a part in it too
despite of having less lines, lua’s also radiates good stage presence
as for the outfits, i love the pastel colours that they’re going for
I really like elly’s blue hair, sei’s pink highlights, lucy’s blonde hair and rina’s short purple hair
OVERALL
overall, this comeback is really catchy, like it’s so easy for it to get stuck in your head. elly definitely slays this comeback, she’s literally shining. yoojung’s and lua’s rap parts are also a score. i just wished lua would’ve gotten a bit more lines.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
ROCKET PUNCH
Tumblr media
I personally don’t really like “Bouncy” but the rest of their songs in their album is catchy. My favorite of the album is “Fireworks” and “Girl Friend”.
THE BOYZ
Tumblr media
i literally stanned them during this era. like goddamn, sunwoo is wrecking me. i love sunwoo and eric’s rap parts. new’s vocals are out of this world, the boy is also tiny asf. also hyunjae’s blond hair?? juyeon has also caught my eye during this era.
BTS
Tumblr media
okay ngl, i didn’t really like “black swan”, it’s not my cup of tea. “on” is definitely something. the part where they do the window wiping thing is weirdly satisfying to watch ( also someone pls edit jin’s window wiping laugh on it ). jungkook’s high note tho. also Jimin’s “oh na na” is really catchy. out from the album, my favorite is “we are bulletproof: the eternal” like damn, that made me sad.
ELRIS
Tumblr media
so I don’t stan them but “jackpot” literally slaps. their rap line is literally so powerful?? especially the short hair girl ( Karin?? ) she raps and sings, damn that’s a double threat right there. the chorus really gets me ngl.

🎶It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A! It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A!🎶 Lol! Despite Disco being dead, we just can’t help but resurrect it from the grave cuz it’s just so.........so..........🌸✌🏻✨groovy✨✌🏻🌸. No matter the generation, 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s or even the 2010’s it’s always fun to celebrate the decade that made dancing feel good and hip. So let’s party!
*Party Crasher-Remember “Gigantitan”, the episode where it was mostly girl orientated cuz its main focus was all about Marinette and her girl squad trying to make Adrienette happen with a zany elaborate scheme, well now it’s Adriens turn to have himself a guy episode in which I like to call a “Bros Day Out”! Nino plans it out since Gabriel is “out of town” and has a few of his male friends to accompany him and bribe his bodyguard (with action figures) to give Adrien some well deserved free time from his busy schedule. That’s nice, except he made them all lie to the girl squad by making up excuses to why they can’t help them plant trees. Look, it’s wrong to lie, but who hasn’t lied in this show already!? We got two major heroes who make up excuses to why they’re always late and disappear, a part-time supervillain dad with questionable morals that makes himself look “busy” with his lies and a girl that officially went to the dark side who does it on a daily basis! ¯\_( ಠ_ಠ)_/¯ .
Anyways, word spreads like wildfire where almost every guy in the show and I mean EVERY GUY IN THE SHOW! Arrive and party like it’s 1970! Speaking of the 70’s, there’s a parody of The Village People as well as their hit song, “Y.M.C.A”! Lol! So while the biggest sausagefest in Paris, France was goin’ on, Marinette got suspicious as to why all the guys suddenly bailed out on her and her squad and went undercover to find out (poorly) disguised as “Marino”. Well, every sausagefest needs at least one “taco” at a party, huh? (Badum-tish🥁).
The party was great, except Maxes robot friend, Markov, hacked into the sound system to pump up the volume and make it loud enough to practically topple the Eiffel Tower and it also caused the underground lair in the Agreste mansion, where Adrien’s mother, Emilie, was in her comatose state, to lose its electricity and black out thus cutting off her life support glass coffin! Don! Don! Don! Gabe was there and he was freaking out! He transformed into Hawk Moth to fix this, but unfortunately for him, there’s more joy in his house than the Happiest Place on Earth! Wait just a minute! Looks like we’re short one guest in the park. Wayhem! Adrien’s #1 fan! (“Gorizilla”). The bodyguard was too distracted with his “bribe” to notice him outside and let him in leaving the poor guy heartbroken. Bingo! Hawk Moth, you can save your wife now!
Miraculers, meet the most fearsome supervillain Hawk Moth has ever created, Party Crasher! Don! Don!-(record scratch. Takes a good look at Party Crasher and sees how ridiculous, UTTERLY ridiculous he looks. Hysterically laughs) XD! Seriously!? He looks like a Disco Dan-esque weirdo! Disco balls for hands, a pink afro and a mustache! What’s his power? Making people Boogey Oogey Oogey ‘til they just can’t boogey no more!? Oh boy! (wipes a tear). Okay, okay, okay, so he crashes the party and his powers are actually capturing whatever he touches with his disco ball hands trapped inside of ‘em and analyzing the heroes next moves before they happen. Nothing Ladybug and Cat Noir can’t-(Ladybug gets captured). HOLY SH*T! LADYBUG GOT CAPTURED! LADYBUG GOT CAPTURED! LADYBUG GOT F**KING CAPTURED! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS!? IT MEANS NOW WE DON’T HAVE ANY ONE TO PURIFY THE AKUMA! DON! DON! DON!
Master Fu was at the party so he recruited Nino, Luka and Max as Carapace, Viperion and Pegasus (respectively) and WAIT! When did Luka and Max get miraculouses!? Oh I get it, we’re goin’ this again.........POORLY SCHEDULED EPISODE ORDERS! F**k whoever’s in charge of that! :P. I’ll deal with this later, anyways, it’s now up to them and Cat Noir to save Ladybug and from their powers (along with Viperions power:second chance and Pegasuses power:transportation), I’m sure they’ll save Lady-(they all get captured by Party Crasher)😳. Ah! C’mon! First Ladybug, now the superdudes! Who’s gonna save the day now!? Alya’s not there and Chloe’s retired, so I guess, we’re doomed!
In a desperate attempt, Master Fu finds out that Kim was one of the few guests that was still at the party (unaware of the danger) and gives him the monkey miraculous! Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the holder of said miraculous, Lê Chiê’n Kim a.k.a. King Monkey! (trumpets sound). Huh, the monkey miraculous went to Kim.........I was still kinda undecided on which one he’d get, but it’s canon he gets that one. His Kwami is a monkey like being named Xuppu, his miraculous a headband crown, his weapon a staff and his power is “Uproar” in which he conjures up a random object to throw it at the person he’s aiming at and it makes their powers malfunction. Don’t worry Fu, you made a good choice. He helped save the day.
So Wayhem has become so obsessed with Adrien that he even dyed his hair like him! Okaaaaaaay, creepy fanboy there, but Hey, it’s common in real life too. As great as it is that he’s become friends with Adrien since his debut, it was sad he couldn’t get into the party and even before that, wasn’t even allowed in after what he did saving his life from his akumatized bodyguard and even unintentionally erasing Hawk Moths mind that Adrien and Cat Noir “aren’t” the same person. Nino’s plan to give Adrien a party with the guys had its pros and cons though; Pro:Making Adrien have a good time, Con:Lying to the girls about it when they promised to help save the environment. Why couldn’t they just tell ‘em they wanted to have some guy time? Gabriel was secretly at home and not “on a business trip” so that he can harvest his akuma butterflies! That’s how he gets them!? He actually grows them!? I thought they just appeared from magic with his miraculous!? Okay, weird. When Marinette got suspicious and went to investigate using her detective skills, I was glad she was doing this to get to the bottom of something on the whole dishonesty thing from the guys (she hates liars), I mean, sure she also got tempted to go to the “Guys Only” party just to see Adrien, but she went there first to uncover the truth. That black out almost killed Emilie! For reals! If that were to have happened, the sh*t would’ve hit the fan and Gabe/Hawk Moth would’ve had a bigger reason to get the miraculouses. Close call! I take back what I said about Party Crasher, he seriously almost sent the real miraculouses to Hawk Moth! (eat your heart out Dark Owl). He first only made a villain to bring the power back to save Emilie, but then he was all like, “Eh, might as well wait for those heroes to show up and really save my wife”. I don’t blame him, he practically had a heart attack! HE WAS FORCED TO SLOWLY WATCH HER DIE! A first ever in the show was that Ladybug, who has the most important job of all, was captured! Not Cat Noir, Ladybug! This emergency called for Carapace along with Viperion and Pegasus. This is clearly out of order cuz Cat remembers them and I know that Max will get the horse miraculous in “Startrain” (which is later) and Luka gets the snake miraculous in “God-knows-which”, but I won’t waste my trumpeters time until it’s their proper given superhero hour for me to get the full intell! Despite the rescue attempt, all the guy heroes unfortunately got captured too. Whomp! Whomp! Whomp! The one that really deserves an intro in their new superhero life is sports fan Kim! During the party, he saved Master Fu from falling thus earning him his respect. So I guess the protocol for getting a miraculous directly from Fu is just to save his old a** from falling. XD! By the by, Marinette was concerned on why he was at the party since in this episode, Hawk Moth found out about his identity (which I assume is in the later ep, “Feast” even though it’s already after that in this case), but I guess he couldn’t resist the whole “Bros before Hoes” jamboree (shrugs). Fu, watch yourself, you’re in enemy territory! I never thought Kim would have the monkey miraculous though. I always thought he’d either get the goat or the dog one, but come to think of it, monkeys are playful and chaotic which fits Kim’s fun-loving and recklessness along with the miraculouses power. Plus, monkeys are known to be wise creatures and this’ll help him learn to mature. Congrats Kim! You’ve finally got your wish to fight along side Ladybug and Cat Noir! (“Syren”). Y.M.C.A. saves the day and in the end, all that mattered was Adriens happiness. As we all know, Adrien has to live up to his strict fathers high expectations and be the “picture of perfection” and he can’t be badly influenced by others which is why he barely has friends over or even have fun :(. That’s why Nino did all this “Pre Bachelor Party” thing and after he and Marinette apologized for their dishonesty, it was for the sake of Adrien. Let the guy be happy!

Jungkook’s parents told him about it when he was still young, maybe 6 years old, after he’d asked them how they met. They told him about the phenomenon that would quickly bring him his first real dream, and would gradually transform into his worst fear.
Soulmates.
They told him that if two people are meant to be together, they start to feel a telekinetic connection at some point during their youth. They can’t hear each other’s every thought, but they’re able to communicate through their minds. For some people the connection first established itself at 11 or 12, some were a bit older, but rarely older than 20.
Not everyone had a soulmate, in fact less than half of the population did, but 6-year-old Jungkook dreamed of the day he would hear his soulmates lovely voice in his head. He had never had a crush and he barely knew what love was, but he knew that he would love his soulmate.
***
13-year-old Jungkook was absolutely terrified of the idea of having a soulmate. 13-year-old Jungkook still didn’t really know what love was, but he knew that his soulmate was supposed to be a girl, and deep down he knew that he didn’t want it to be a girl. He didn’t want it to be boy either, though, because he’d heard what the kids at school said. He’d heard what the people on tv said about gay people. He knew that if he ever wanted to become an idol, his soulmate couldn’t be a boy.
So no, Jungkook didn’t want a soulmate.
Unfortunately for him, fate didn’t take his wishes into account. Fate took his wishes and threw them right out of the window.
One night, Jungkook jolted awake and felt the connection before he heard the soft gasp in his head. He didn’t say anything, knowing that regardless of the gender of the person on the other side, he would never be able to make them happy.
“Uh… Hello?” a beautiful voice said. A boy’s voice.
A boy. Jungkook’s eyes watered. In another world, he would’ve been able to spend the rest of his life with this boy, and for a second, he was prepared to throw his entire life away to do exactly that, but he couldn’t.
He couldn’t.
A tear ran down his cheek.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered. He might have said it out loud, he didn’t know, but he was sure that his soulmate heard and that was all that mattered.
The scared “please, don’t” forced a choked sob out of Jungkook, but he knew what he needed to do. He had done his research when he realized that he could never live a happy life with his soulmate, and he had learned how to shut them out. He wouldn’t be able to destroy the connection, but he could turn it off temporarily and that’d have to be enough.
Jungkook broke the connection, and with it his own heart.
***
15-year-old Jungkook was almost okay. He still felt like crying when someone mentioned soulmates, but he was set to debut with an idol group and he couldn’t remember his voice anymore anyway. He had convinced himself that was a good thing.
He had been scared when he first joined the group. He was the youngest, and on top of that he would lose everything if anyone found out about his sexuality.
So he made sure they didn’t. He didn’t talk to the other boys much, he practiced hard and fell into bed right after practice. He knew that the other members wanted to get to know him better, but he couldn’t let them get too close.
Until Kim Taehyung arrived.
With him, Jungkook didn’t have a choice. Taehyung was going to be his friend, whether Jungkook wanted it or not.
And he wanted it. He wanted it so badly. Jungkook was lonely and Taehyung was incredible. He didn’t pry, he never asked Jungkook for more than he was willing to give, but he refused to let Jungkook isolate himself. So Jungkook let him barge into his life and hoped he would never leave.
And he didn’t.
***
17-year-old Jungkook was happy. He had a career that only went uphill, he had his hyungs that loved him, and he loved them. If he loved one of them more than the others, he would never admit that to himself.
None of the members had soulmates, so the topic didn’t come up very often, which Jungkook was grateful for. He slowly got over him. He didn’t think he would ever completely forget, but he could move on. He just hoped his soulmate was as happy as he was.
Jungkook didn’t realise that the more he got over his soulmate, the deeper he fell in love with someone else.
***
18-year-old Jungkook realised.
“Let me hear!” Taehyung exclaimed while draping himself over Jungkook’s lap.
This in itself was not an irregular occurrence, as Taehyung was a naturally affectionate person, but it was late, and Jungkook had been focusing on the cover he was working on and he didn’t expect to get a lapful of Taehyung. Half-naked Taehyung. Taehyung in only one of his big, cozy sweaters and boxers, looking at him with his big puppy eyes way too close to Jungkook’s face.
Even if Jungkook wanted to refuse, he didn’t stand a chance. So he steadied his best friend with one hand on his hip to keep him from falling of his lap and leaned forward to press play with the other one.
Feeling like I’m breathing my last breath.
The music started, and Jungkook remembered feeling like that. Like he couldn’t breathe anymore and maybe breathing really wasn’t worth it.
He remembered feeling like that when he couldn’t stop sobbing so violently that he could barely breathe that night years ago, the first and the last time he heard his voice, and many nights after.
He remembered feeling it when he first joined Bangtan and he felt like everything could crash and burn at any moment, like he would lose everything he had worked so hard for if he even blinked in the wrong way.
He didn’t feel like that anymore. Despite their hectic schedules and busy idol life, he felt good. He felt loved. He loved. So much.
I put my heart into your hands,
Here’s my soul to keep,
I let you in with all that I can,
You’re not hard to reach.
Jungkook looked down at the man in his lap. Taehyung’s eyes were focused on the screen, even though there was not much to see on it.
Jungkook didn’t mind, as he could look a little longer without being caught staring if the older wasn’t looking at him.
Because hearing those lyrics he sang and seeing his best friend listen to them so intensely rendered him unable to look away.
Because suddenly he realised that this was not just a cover he did because he liked the song or the artist. He did it because he felt the song. He too had put his heart into someone’s hands, someone he let in, the first one he let in. The one that never left.
And you bless me with the best gift,
That I’ve ever known,
You give me purpose,
Yeah, you’ve given me purpose.
Suddenly it seemed like Jungkook’s life up to that moment split into pre-Taehyung and post-Taehyung. Pre-Taehyung Jungkook was lost, a scared and lonely child. Taehyung changed everything. He taught Jungkook that it was okay to not know, to just do and have fun. He taught him it was okay to let people in, and it was okay to be scared, as long as you have people who make you feel brave. Taehyung made Jungkook feel brave back then. He still did.
 Oh, you are my everything.
Taehyung was Jungkook’s everything. Jungkook was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
His brain seemed a tad slow at processing that realisation, but when it did, Jungkook gasped.
“Fuck.”
Taehyung wriggled a bit so he could rest his head on Jungkook’s shoulder and look up at him, which was really bad for Jungkook’s general wellbeing at the moment. It’d be very awkward if he died in his desk chair after having a heart attack because of his best friend, whom he happened to be in love with.
“What’s wrong?” Taehyung asked, pulling Jungkook out of his panic.
Jungkook swallowed and tried his hardest not to look at his best friend’s lips.
“I, uh… Nothing. It’s late, Tae. You should go to sleep, we have to get up early tomorrow,” Jungkook suggested, attempting to get Taehyung out of his room so he could freak out in peace.
Taehyung’s brow furrowed, and Jungkook wanted nothing more than to kiss that frown away.
“You didn’t even ask what I think of your song,” Taehyung complained and the second his pout appeared, Jungkook know he was lost. He could never resist The Pout.
“Okay,” he indulged the boy in his lap, “what did you think?”
Taehyung’s eyes immediately softened and Jungkook hoped Taehyung couldn’t hear his heart beat faster at the boxy grin he received.
“I love it,” Taehyung declared, not breaking the eye contact, and no one could’ve doubted how sincere he was.
Jungkook blushed and looked away. If Taehyung only knew that this cover was about him, Jungkook doubted his best friend would still love it so much.
“Thanks, but I meant it. You should go to sleep,” he tried again.
It was quiet for a second, and Jungkook was approximately 90 percent sure Taehyung was going to agree, until the older suddenly got that glint in his eyes that he only got when he was about to suggest something stupid to which he knew Jungkook would comply anyway.
“I should,” he started, but Jungkook knew him well enough to know it wasn’t going to end there and wasn’t surprised when Taehyung continued, “and you should carry me to bed.”
He placed his arms around the younger’s neck and well, who was Jungkook to refuse?
So he ended up carrying a still half-naked Taehyung bridal style through the hallway to his room. Namjoon gave them a weird look when they passed him on his way to the bathroom, but he didn’t question it. He had learned not to question things a long time ago.
When they reached Taehyung’s room and Jungkook dropped him on the bed, he hoped that was it. He should’ve known it wasn’t.
Before he even reached the door to leave, Taehyung whined, “Jungkook-ah, I need your help.”
Knowing Taehyung and the mood he was in when he used that whiny voice, Jungkook took a deep breath before turning around, but nothing could’ve prepared him for the sight of Taehyung sitting there in his boxers with his arms in the air, wordlessly asking Jungkook to take off his sweater for him.
Jungkook choked on his own spit.
“You-,” he coughed, “you can undress yourself, Tae.”
He hurriedly turned around to flee before he said something stupid like ‘I would love to undress you every night for the rest of my life,’ but Taehyung did not have mercy on him.
“Jeon Jungkook,” he insisted, trying to sound threatening, “are you just going to let your best friend die here? Because yes, the heat will kill me if I sleep in this sweater.”
Jungkook sighed, and decided to just go with it and get it over with quickly.
“Drama much?” he chuckled weakly, walking back to the bed and pulling Taehyung’s sweater over his head, channelling every ounce of heterosexuality in his body to keep himself from staring. It was stupid, since he had seen all of the members naked countless of times. It just happens when you live together with six other dudes. But he didn’t realise how hopelessly in love with one of them he was then. And boy, he did now.
He folded the sweater and put it in the closet like the considerate friend he was, and prepared to finally make his escape but no, Kim Taehyung did not know how to stop.
“C’mere.”
Jungkook gave up on trying to resist, and got over to the side of the bed, in which Taehyung was now sitting with only his legs covered by the duvet.
“Closer,” he ordered, so Jungkook bent down until he was on Taehyung’s eye-level. He put all of his energy into trying not to blush at the proximity, but he had a feeling that he wasn’t succeeding very well.
He could’ve expected what happened next, really. It definitely wasn’t the first time, and if this was any of his other hyungs, he wouldn’t have thought about it twice.
But he did not expect it, at all.
His brain short-circuited when Taehyung leaned in and pecked his cheek, whispering a quiet “thank you”.
“Yeah, I- uh… You’re welcome. You- uh… Good night, Tae,” he stuttered while stumbling out of the room.
He barely heard the soft “Good night,” that followed.
He barely heard anything on the way back to his room. Not the concerned “Hey, you okay?” Namjoon whispered when Jungkook stumbled past him in the hallway, not the way he slammed his door shut so hard that it probably woke up all of the other members. Not his own sobs that forced their way out as soon as he was alone.
He was in love with Taehyung. Beautiful, kind Taehyung, his best friend, his band member, the one person he would do anything for.
Anything, including punching down his own feelings before they could hurt anyone but himself, because Taehyung getting hurt was inevitable if this ever got out.
So he allowed himself one night to cry, and promised to never cry about it again.
 ***
19-year-old Jungkook broke his promise.
To be fair, he managed quite well for months. He couldn’t force himself to be any less in love with his best friend, but he got back into his normal routine, hung out with the other members a bit more than he did before and tried very hard not to ruin both of their lives by doing something stupid when he spent time with Taehyung. He was aware of the fact that everyone noticed that he avoided Taehyung sometimes, but no one said anything, so he assumed they’d let him handle his own issues as long as he didn’t hurt the group, which he appreciated.
Something that hadn’t changed were the movie nights they organized every once in a while. Jungkook used to spend those with Taehyung curled up against him, and he still did, because he didn’t have the mental strength to push Taehyung away when he attached himself to Jungkook like a koala. So those became the times he indulged himself, and he fell into a rhythm. He tried to keep himself together in his daily life, but during movie nights he pulled Taehyung a little bit closer and stared a little bit longer than strictly necessary, and it worked. It was peaceful. It was like everything went back to how it used to be between them.
Only it wasn’t.
One night, Namjoon reached for the remote to pause Iron Man in the middle of the movie. Jungkook was about to protest when Namjoon spoke up.
“Do any of you have soulmates?” he asked, seemingly out of nowhere.
Jungkook barely managed to stop himself from choking on his own spit, and he was surprised to feel Taehyung tense up against him.
Still, everyone, including Jungkook, just shook their head to indicate they didn’t, like Jungkook had always assumed.
Everyone but Jin.
“I, uh… we-” he started, clearly nervous, “we thought about this for a long time. If we should tell you this.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened. What was Jin talking about? Who was ‘we’?
After a brief silence, Jin continued, “But we love you. And we know you love us too. So we thought, if you won’t be happy for us, who will, you know?”
Jungkook did not know. Did Jin have a soulmate? He was well over 20, there was no way he only met her now. So why didn’t he tell them about her?
“What’s going on, hyung?” Hoseok asked, looking concerned.
Ignoring him, Jin continued, “So I hope, I mean… I hope you won’t…” he trailed off, not knowing what to say.
All the members looked at each other, silently asking if anyone knew what was going on and why Jin’s eyes were getting watery.
But no one expected what happened next.
Namjoon grabbed the hand Jin had curled into a fist out of frustration, looked up at the other members and said, “Jin’s my soulmate.”
Silence.
Jungkook’s brain didn’t immediately register the words. He just stared at Namjoon, trying to figure out why his heart had just flipped 360 degrees in his chest. Everyone else seemed to be in a similar state.
Jimin was the first to come back to his senses, though, and he jumped over to Jin and Namjoon to pull them into a hug.
“I’m so happy for you guys!” he exclaimed. Then he chuckled and added, “To be honest, I expected you to end up together eventually anyway, soulmates or not.”
“Oh,” Jin choked out, and suddenly everyone unfroze. Before he knew it, Jungkook was being pulled into a group hug, and he was glad that his tears could be written off as tears of happiness. And they were, partly, because he really was happy for his friends.
But another part of him could only think about his own soulmate, about how he could’ve had this too if he hadn’t been too scared to take the risk.
About how there was a boy out there that didn’t get this, that didn’t even get a choice because Jungkook was too much of a coward.
“So, you- you guys are okay with it?” Namjoon asked through his own tears.
Hobi laughed, “Of course we are!”
“We love you,” Yoongi added.
If anyone noticed that Jungkook and Taehyung were both quiet, they didn’t mention it.
Jungkook just pulled his friends closer and tried not to sob too obviously.
They talked for hours, Namjoon and Jin explaining everything and telling stories they had kept secret until then, and Jungkook’s heart threatened to burst at how happy they both looked. He glanced at Taehyung and wondered if they would ever look that happy.
Eventually everyone got tired and moved to their own rooms, which Jungkook was thankful for, because he needed some alone time to process this. Not one, but two of his hyungs were gay, or not straight at least, and everyone else was fine with that. No one would kick Jungkook out of the group or ruin his life for liking boys. He didn’t have to break his heart all those years ago. He didn’t have to break the connection. He didn’t have to get over him.
Maybe he could just stop shutting him out and try to apologize, because he was sure that, even though Jungkook had treated him like shit, his soulmate wouldn’t sell him out to the media.
But he did get over him. And he fell for Taehyung, his own best friend. And now even a relationship between two members wasn’t completely unthinkable anymore.
He closed his eyes to keep the tears from falling again. How did he get himself into this mess?
He could barely breathe anymore when a knock on the door and a soft “Jungkook-ah?” pulled him out of his spiral of feelings.
Part of him wanted to pretend to be asleep so Taehyung didn’t see him like this, but a bigger part wanted nothing more than to fall asleep curled up against his best friend.
“Yeah?” he answered.
The door opened slowly, revealing Taehyung with blotchy eyes and tear tracks on his cheeks.
“Tae,” Jungkook jumped down from his bed to pull Taehyung into his arms, “what’s wrong?”
Instead of answering, Taehyung buried his face in Jungkook’s neck and let out the most heart-breaking sob.
Jungkook didn’t know what else to do but pull him closer and whisper comforting words into his hair while he cried.
Eventually, Taehyung pulled back and walked over to sit on Jungkook’s bed, putting his head into his hands.
Jungkook waited for him to speak up, and after a few moments of silence, he did.
“I lied,” he said.
Jungkook had no idea what he could’ve lied about, and voiced this confusion.
Taehyung sighed.
“I do have a soulmate,” he admitted.
Jungkook couldn’t suppress a shocked gasp, but didn’t say anything, letting Taehyung tell the story he so obviously needed to tell, judging by the fact that he must’ve kept this a secret for years.
“I- I felt the connection when I was 15. I was scared, obviously, but also excited to finally meet my soulmate. But, he- he-” Jungkook barely realised what Taehyung had just said because the latter had started sobbing again, but when he did realise, his eyes went wide.
He.
Taehyung’s soulmate was a man.
Before this could send Jungkook into another round of panic, Taehyung continued.
“I only heard him once.”
Time stopped. It could have been a coincidence, but Jungkook had a feeling that it wasn’t, and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to hear the rest of the story. But he couldn’t move and he couldn’t speak, so he just listened as Taehyung told the story of how Jungkook broke his heart.
“He just- He apologised and then he- he shut me out. And it hurt. It hurt, so so much. I begged him to talk to me for days, even though of course he didn’t hear me, but I didn’t care, I just screamed and screamed until my parents took me to the hospital. I woke up screaming every night for weeks. I cried about him for years. But with time, I moved on. I learned to live without him and I can honestly say I’m happy now. But seeing Jin and Joon like that, it just… I guess it made me wonder what it could’ve been like, you know? If my soulmate hadn’t rejected me before he even met me,” he took a shaky breath, “Was I really that disgusting?”
Taehyung broke down crying again, and Jungkook fell to his knees in front of him, tears silently streaming down his face. He genuinely felt like he might pass out, but he couldn’t, because he owed Taehyung this much.
“He didn’t think you were disgusting,” he whispered, because it felt like he wouldn’t be able to stop crying if he spoke any louder.
“He thought you were beautiful, even though he had never seen you. He loved you, so much, from the very beginning. He never really stopped loving you. He was just scared, so fucking scared.”
Taehyung opened his eyes and looked down at where Jungkook was sitting.
“What are you talking about?”
Jungkook moved closer and brushed his hand over Taehyung’s tear-stained cheek, only to rest it on the side of his face.
“I-,” he started, not knowing if would lose everything by telling Taehyung the truth, but unable to lie, “close your eyes.”
Taehyung frowned, but complied anyway.
“Jungkook, what are you doing?” he asked.
Jungkook took a deep breath.
“If I’m right about this, I want you to know that I’m so, so sorry. I will never forgive myself, but I hope you can forgive me one day, because I don’t think I can live without you.”
“Jungkook-”
“I love you.”
A gasp. Taehyung’s hands flew to his mouth.
“It’s back!” he cried, “Jungkook, my voice, my soulmate, he’s-” he opened his eyes when he felt Jungkook’s hand slide down his cheek before breaking contact entirely, and when he saw a crying Jungkook stare at him with an unreadable expression, he realised, “-you.”
Jungkook closed his eyes and nodded.
“I’m so sorry,” he croaked out before he started sobbing so violently he doubled over.
Taehyung fell off the bed and onto his knees in front of the younger.
“Jungkook…”
But Jungkook didn’t react. He just kept muttering apologies in between the horrible sobs, hands grabbing the carpet as if his life depended on it.
“Jungkook, look at me,” Taehyung tried again, putting his hands on top of Jungkook’s fists, but Jungkook barely heard him through his own cries and thoughts.
He did this to Taehyung. Hurting some nameless, faceless stranger by shutting him out had been the most painful thing Jungkook had ever done, but it was nothing compared to knowing that he did that to Taehyung, his own best friend, the man he was so desperately in love with. He caused Taehyung to scream for weeks and cry for years. He caused Taehyung so much pain, but here he was, asking for forgiveness.
He was disgusted by himself. How could Taehyung ever forgive him after what he’d done?
“Jungkook, I love you.”
Jungkook froze, and suddenly it was eerily quiet in the room. No more sobs, no more apologies from Jungkook or attempts from Taehyung to get him to listen, nothing. Only two sets of shaky breaths and the echo in Jungkook’s mind.
Taehyung… loved him?
He slowly looked up, and Taehyung looked like a mess. His hair was even more dishevelled than before, tears were silently running down his cheeks, his lips slightly parted to accommodate his erratic breath.
He was still the most beautiful thing Jungkook had ever seen.
“You- really?” Jungkook asked, barely believing what he’d heard.
Taehyung shuffled closer to him and took his face in his large hands, forcing Jungkook to look him in the eyes.
“Jeon Jungkook. I love you,” he repeated, out loud this time.
Jungkook stared at him, wide-eyed.
“But- But…” he sputtered, “I hurt you. So much.”
Taehyung sighed.
“Yes. You did.”
If Jungkook’s heart hadn’t been shattered in a million pieces before, that would’ve done the job, and he couldn’t stop the tears that fell from his eyes again.
“But,” Taehyung continued, brushing the tears away with his thumbs, “I forgive you. Yes, you hurt me, but you were a scared little boy, and while that doesn’t make it okay and that didn’t make it hurt any less back then, I understand now. And even though I didn’t know you were my soulmate, you’ve made me so, so happy these past few years. You were the best friend I could’ve wished for, and the deeper in love I fell with you, the more I got over, well, you,” he chuckled, “So yes, you broke me as a child. But you put the pieces back together as a man, so I forgive you.”
Jungkook lifted his hand to cup Taehyung’s cheek, and his heart clenched as the older leaned into it.
Taehyung looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to gather his thoughts in silence.
Eventually Jungkook promised, “I will spend the rest of my life earning that forgiveness. You have no idea how much I love you.”
Taehyung’s eyes immediately turned impossibly soft and he smiled.
“Well, why don’t you show me then?”
That was enough motivation for Jungkook to lean in and gently capture his soulmate’s lips in his own.

Top 10 BEST songs of 2016 :)
Now as I’ve said in my worst songs list 2016 has been pretty shitty in terms of music on the hot 100 this year with basic mediocre slow pop music, more terrible hip-hop & bad dance music and I’m sure most of you will agree with me on that BUT while most of the good music came outside of the year-end or the regular hot 100 itself there were some good music that managed to stand out there aside from the pile of shit on the year-end chart to try and make 2016 a good year in some way so let’s switch things up and talk about some of the good music that we had this year with my Top 10 Best Songs of 2016 :)
Again the rules are the same as always:
      - The songs must appear on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 from either the American or Canadian charts
      - NO leftovers from last year’s year-end that sneaked in again this year
      - NO songs from my top 10’s last year (so Adele’s “Hello” for example won’t be on this year’s list again)
So now that the rules are set let’s get started on my Top 10 Best Songs of 2016 but FIRST here’s some honourable mentions to start this amazing list:
DNCE – Cake By The Ocean (#18 US/#15 Can.): Now I have to say I’ve always been a huge fan of the Jonas Brothers since they released SOS back years ago when I was in junior high and when they separated they’ve had decent enough solo careers Nick Jonas had a pretty good year last year with songs like “Jealous”, “Chains”, “Levels” and did pretty well again this year with his song “Close” with Tove Lo which ended up on the year-end this year I didn’t mind that song I thought it was decent production-wise and vocally & both Nick & Tove Lo had great chemistry but it got old pretty fast for me but as for Joe I never really was into his solo stuff but this year he formed his new band DNCE and this is their debut single and tbh I wasn’t into it at first but it definitely grew on me as the year went on.
A lot of critics have really been tough on this song with some worst lists having this song on it but let me make my case about how this song works. Yes the lyrics are very corny and unsexy in every way…Cake By The Ocean as another way to say sex on the beach is so weird, all the food & candy references for sex really grosses me out for some reason, the Diddy/Naomi reference was odd to use since their relationship has been forgotten long ago & the “AH YA YA YA YA”’s get annoying after a while BUT the strumming funky bass guitar riff throughout the song is so catchy, upbeat & fun to dance to with the added groovy electric guitar & percussion that works very well in the mix plus Joe’s vocals and the other members singing in the background also helped the song sound more exciting and convincing that they had sex on the beach and in a year where we’ve had a lot of mid-tempo slow dreary pop music and way too many ballads it was nice to have an upbeat pop song for once. Anyways it’s only an honourable mention because of the corny lyrics but still a great song overall.
James Bay – Let It Go (#44 US/#75 Can.): While we had a lot of slow ballads and way too many at that there was some that managed to work very well without being boring and making you fall asleep (Gnash take notes) and this is one of them. Now I don’t mind James Bay’s music he’s a very good vocalist and his songs are not bad I really enjoyed his song from last year called “Hold Back The River” and I did enjoy this track too. I loved the slow acoustic guitar throughout the song and the production was pretty good in general. The lyrics is your typical break up ballad about a love gone wrong in other words a relationship that started out good but went sour and became forced & James is suggesting to break-up and just let it go and move on and focus on themselves individually (“why don’t you be you and I’ll be me”). It’s a nice easy listening kind of ballad to listen to if you’re going through a break-up or just want to sit back and relax. It’s only an honourable mention because there just happened to be better songs out there this year but it’s still a great song.
Adele – Send My Love (To Your New Lover) [#26 US/#29 Can.]: Now a lot of critics have said that this is Adele’s weakest and most commercial song that she did in her career and while I agree that it’s not the best song on “25” (Water Under The Bridge, All I Ask & River Lea definitely earn that title) I think for an Adele song it’s pretty good I don’t mind the production & instrumentation that Max Martin did with the strumming guitar riff with the added percussion and handclaps that makes it catchy & upbeat although I think that Max should’ve gave Adele more breathing room for her vocals in the song I thought Adele still sounded great regardless and the lyrics again another break-up song of how Adele’s ex is trying to take her back but she’s over the relationship as she ended it herself and has moved on and is happy and is enjoying being single but yet he hasn’t and she’s sick of it she’s not angry but she just doesn’t care anymore & wants him to stop acting like a kid, be an adult and move on and instead of sending love to her ex she sends it to whoever his new lover may be because that’s someone else’s problem now and not hers anymore. Anyways it’s only an honourable mention because of some production nitpicks and Adele could’ve done a little better vocally but it’s still a great song overall.
Calvin Harris Feat. Rihanna – This Is What You Came For (#17 US/#11 Can.): For my fellow Swiftie friends this wouldn’t surprise you at all but for the rest of those that read my best & worst lists you may be thinking why do you have this song on here?? Well I thought for a Calvin Harris song it’s his best song for sure both production-wise and lyrically thanks to Taylor (his other song “My Way” was a disaster). The beat is decent with some good production to dance to, Rihanna was pretty good vocally throughout the song and I love the backing vocals that Taylor brings to the table and obviously Tay sounds amazing it sounds like Rihanna & Taylor are singing together in some parts of the song too and they sound great like I hope Taylor & Rhi Rhi does more collabs together because they sound awesome and the lyrics while simple were pretty good as well “Lightning strikes every time that she moves” is like my favorite lyric from that song & the song is definitely about how Calvin used to feel about Taylor during their relationship (it sucks that they broke up but oh well..). Taylor knows how to write a great song in any genre (It’s been a quiet year for my favorite country-pop superstar musically but along with this song she also wrote Little Big Town’s hit country song “Better Man” this year & recently was featured in the new hit song with Zayn called “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” for the “Fifty Shades Darker” soundtrack and it’s like my new favorite song right now <3) but anyways I would’ve put this song in the top 10 in a heartbeat but there were a lot more better songs this year sadly still tho it’s one of my favorites from this year.
The Weeknd – In The Night (#61 US/#67 Can.): The Weeknd had an excellent year in 2016 with the continued success of “Beauty Behind The Madness”, more collabs this year with artists like Beyonce (who surprised us again with her highly critically-acclaimed latest album “Lemonade”), Kanye West, Future & fellow Canadian rapper Belly & released another album who’s title track I will be talking about on this list (such a bad giveaway I know but where will be on the list?? You’ll have to find out ;) ). Anyways this was the last single from “Beauty Behind The Madness” and I got to say it’s like “Can’t Feel My Face” combining with his signature dark lyrics from “The Hills”. I love the percussion heavy beat with the added creepy-like 80’s-inspired synth in the background that builds up in the pre-chorus and goes full force in the chorus itself & the Weeknd’s voice is amazing as always and again like in “Can’t Feel My Face” he’s channeling his inner MJ in both production and vocals and the lyrics reaches some very dark territory where he tells a story about a woman who was abused by a musician and becomes so traumatized by that event that she becomes a stripper and works late at night and through it all she’s trying to find whatever relief and joy she could find to make herself happy & loved again which is sad and The Weeknd is just standing there trying to make her feel better but nothing seem to work overall it’s truly one of his best songs but personally I gave it an honourable mention because like his song “The Hills” it’s a little too dark of a song for my taste but still it’s a great song.
One Direction – Perfect (#100 US/#61 Can.): Wow this one really snuck up on the year-end this year but that’s awesome because this is one of my favorites by a boy band that I wished stayed together because it seems like they were improving with each album that came out as a group now this song came near the very end of their career before they all went solo when Zayn left the group first & started his successful solo career (who I’ll discuss later on this list J) and it was on the final album without Zayn called “Made In The AM” which I actually bought earlier this year as it grew on me and again this is my favorite on the album.
Now as for this song itself while it sucks that Zayn is not in this song I thought they all did pretty decent vocally with Harry sounding the best out of them all and did really well filling in that gap with Zayn gone as Zayn was known for his more lower range in his voice and I thought the production was good with that amazing guitar melody & the hook was catchy then we get to the lyrics which have been rumored to be about Taylor who dated Harry back in the “Red” era and as a response (& has a similar bassline) to Taylor’s own hit song “Style” (which was #1 on my best songs list last year & is rumoured to be about him) & I can see how it could be about Tay with lyrics like “If you like midnight driving with the windows down, and if you like going places we can’t even pronounce if you like to do whatever you’ve been dreaming about” & in the entire bridge where he says “If you like cameras flashing every time we go out” & “If you’re looking for someone to write your break-up songs about” and in all those instances he still thinks that she’s perfect in some way which shows a lot of emotional maturity (as did Taylor with “Style”) because in this song he acknowledges that the relationship wasn’t gonna work out and he was OKAY with that and that last lyric that I mentioned is very significant as he knows that when he dates a fellow musician or artist that he’s gonna be the subject of some of their songs if anything happens in which he could fill that role & it’s something that he’s gotta accept anyway that it may end up in their work as an artist if it doesn’t work out and he does do that which is the mature thing to do & that’s something I never thought I’d find in a One Direction song.
But hey this song may not be “perfect” as it’s an honourable mention because I’ve heard better songs this year and it’s no “Night Changes” (which was also on my best songs list last year and is the best of their career) but it’s a good song nonetheless and is definitely a good farewell kind of song to their fans with their last album.
Mike Posner – I Took A Pill In Ibiza (#15 US/#5 Can.): I never expected out of all the comebacks we had this year that we’d be getting a huge comeback from Mike Posner you remember that guy right? The one that sang that awful egotistical pop trainwreck “Cooler Than Me” back in 2010 (as you can tell I couldn’t stand the guy) but anyways after a few failed attempts of following up his big hit from 6 years ago (he had a minor hit called “Please Don’t Go” that never really did well and had some other songs & collabs that barely charted or never charted at all) He came back in 2016 with this song that got popular on a remix.
Now the original version is pretty AWFUL production-wise with the typical “nice guy with acoustic guitar” production that didn’t fit well with his voice nor the incredible lyrics in the song about life after having that one big hit and nothing else. Like how he did drugs and alcohol that one night that he regrets doing, how he wasted money on girls and shoes yet can’t keep a woman outside of a typical one night stand because he’s vulnerable and insecure & doesn’t really know how to have a relationship, how he wanted to prove that he’s famous with buying a sports car yet he wasn’t happy with it and wasn’t happy being rich in general for “a pop song people forgot” & how so many people don’t remember him for that one song that they maybe heard back in the day and liked it but probably forgot it years later except for his hardcore fans and people in his hometown that he gets along with (which he mentions and give a nod to in the 3rd verse that was omitted in the remix) & in the chorus he gives advice to those that want to be famous or asks him about the secret to making it big to never do what he did to stay in the public eye that it’s not the life that most people make it out to be anyways it’s a pretty “sad song” for sure. As for the remix by DJ Seeb it helped improved the song a lot both production wise and vocally with that amazing EDM production with some tropical beats and synth that worked really well with a bass drop that was so groovy and fun and while I thought that he could’ve just used the whole song in general it’s still pretty good and definitely an amazing comeback that really no one expected at all this year.
Now the reason it’s an honourable mention is because I thought well this only got famous on a remix and not the original version itself and if the original was much better production-wise than maybe it would’ve cracked the top 10 of my best list this year but I’ll definitely give it the honour of “Most Improved Song of 2016” because the lyrics are some of the best I heard this year no doubt about it anyways it’s a great song and I hope we’ll hear more from Mike in the future as he truly made me reverse my opinion on him I really think he has potential.
Well that was a good start wasn’t it? Now let’s get to the good stuff and talk about the amazing songs that managed to make me smile during a very dismal year in terms of pop music overall with my Top 10 BEST songs of 2016 starting with:
     10. Zayn – Pillowtalk (#22 US/#20 Can.): as much as it sucks that Zayn is not with One Direction anymore he sure proved everyone (including me) wrong when he made his debut with this epic track from his first solo album “Mind of Mine”. It definitely broke his boy band image from One Direction as this song is very openly & explicitly about sex & it’s truly an amazing slow jam of a song with production that’s really great with the loads of synth, the added percussion with the scattered backing vocals (or moans) throughout the track and even added a bit of electric guitar in the chorus and near the end of the bridge & Zayn’s vocals are IMPRESSIVE like he really shows his range in this song and also provides his signature lower tone & range in his voice that he’s known for which is really good when it comes to very slick sexy pop & R&B as he fits really well into that vein. The lyrics are pretty straight forward about his sexual life both in the physical and the emotional & intimate sense and how through it all he loves the woman that he’s with and is happy to wake up next to her in the morning & he describes the love in detail  as he wants to take it slow and be caring towards her and even describes that the sex could be “paradise” or a “war zone” how it could happy & loving one minute or a living hell the next & while most songs about sex that’s very open and explicit in nature kind of turns my stomach the wrong way. This one didn’t as it was very catchy and the production is very slick and while it’s not as upbeat it’s decent enough to groove along to so overall I really enjoyed this track.
        9. Tim McGraw – Humble & Kind (#96 US): If there’s one genre that had a good year in 2016 it was country music and the charts was full of it this year and tbh most of it was good as bro-country was declining and neo-traditional country music that started popping back up last year made a huge impact in 2016 both in the mainstream and the underground with new names in country like Brandy Clark, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton & William Michael Morgan to recent bro-country acts trying to make the transition either successfully or not like Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Cole Swindell & Brett Eldridge to of course the current mainstream artists like Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Charles Kelley (from Lady Antebellum), Keith Urban, Brad Paisley & Kenny Chesney.
The year-end chart tho was very weird because even though we had a lot of good country music in 2016 only 3 of them made the chart due to some random issue between the genre and streaming services like Spotify that’s making it difficult for country music to become popular hits which is sad. The three songs were FGL’s song “H.O.L.Y.” a song that was ok I guess and I’m glad the group is going down that traditional route but using a religious word as a pick-up line for women was just weird on so many levels and probably pissed off a nice few religious country fans no doubt then there was Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man” which is not a bad song but it’s sort of a complete rip-off of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” with the same acoustic production, same kind of lyrics & content only just with a country twang & on the Canadian year-end we had Keith Urban’s “Wasted Time” which almost made the honourable mentions as it’s such a fun carefree kind of song about having a good time but unfortunately there were better songs this year but here we have this gem that managed to sneak through on the American year-end chart & it’s this song that I’m gonna be talking about today by the legendary Tim McGraw.
Now Tim McGraw has always been one of my favorite country artists ever since I was a child listening to songs like Just to See You Smile, It’s Your Love (with his equally successful country legend wife Faith Hill) & I Like It I Love It, I even love his recent stuff too like Southern Voice, Back When, Meanwhile Back at Mamas (again with Faith) & of course Highway Don’t Care (with my fave Taylor Swift & Keith Urban). Humble & Kind while not the best country song in 2016 is another one of my faves. It definitely symbolizes how big the genre was doing this year and how traditional country music is making a comeback and who better to lead the pack in the mainstream than Tim McGraw right? I love the acoustic traditional country-pop production and the guitar really shined in this song with the added strings to make a song as simple as teaching everyone especially kids to be good people, have manners & respect and of course being Humble & Kind among other lessons so great to listen to & Tim McGraw has had a career that spanned over 2 decades and songs like this are definitely something you can expect from him now at this point in his career and he does it with such ease and he let’s the song do the talking & frames it really well. Overall again while it’s not the best country song from this year (I’ve had a nice few in mind that should’ve made this list) it’s still really good and it definitely deserves a spot on this list no doubt about it.
          8. Justin Bieber – Love Yourself (#1 US/#2 Can.): Yeah yeah I know what you’re all thinking…”Jeremy you must be nuts to put another Bieber song on one of your lists this year let alone in the top 10” if you remember on last year’s list I put “What Do You Mean?” as an honourable mention for being a decent song with some good production and lyrics it’s honestly the first Bieber song that I ever truly enjoyed but his music got even better in late 2015 and entering into 2016 as he released “Sorry” a song that I was ok with as I liked the reggae-inspired production and the lyrics seemed sort of sincere but it got old for me after a while but then he released this song that I’ll be talking about right now and it’s the first Justin Bieber song that I can actually say that I really like so much so that I did a mini review on this song late last year on my blog http://classichollywoodswift.tumblr.com/post/135297456549/i-dont-know-why-where-or-how-this-happened-but
Just to sum it up I liked the stripped down acoustic production & the guitars in the instrumentation was brilliant with the trumpet solo being a nice touch to the song, Justin’s vocals were on point & the lyrics (that was co-written by Ed Sheeran) were pretty solid basically telling a sad break-up story with the message of loving yourself first before loving someone else in order to be happy with your life anyways the rest of my thoughts on this song is in that link above if you want to check it out. This would’ve been higher only that we’ve seen some better songs this year and it kind of waned on me a bit but it’s still a fantastic song and probably the best song that Justin has ever done I’m glad it was a #1 hit and I’m happy that it’s #1 song on the year-end & I’m glad that it’s on this list
          7. Ariana Grande – Dangerous Woman (#36 US/#41 Can.): I have to say if there’s one artist that consistently put out good pop music this year it was definitely Ariana Grande now back on my list in 2013 I had Ari on the list with The Way as an honourable mention & Almost Is Never Enough in my top 10 and since then she had some really good songs like Problem, Break Free & Love Me Harder but this year truly was Ariana’s year for sure and this song started it with Ariana showing more of a sexier side of her in this song.
I love the touch of organ in the background, the percussion was good, I love the electric guitar and the solo near the end, the pounding beat in the chorus was brilliant & Ariana’s vocals are of course GORGEOUS despite her having trouble enunciating some of her words but I’ll let that pass as she’s still an incredible vocalist as her range is impressive & the lyrics are excellent because while obviously Ariana is FAR from being dangerous & more cute and adorable than anything what she meant is that she FEELS like a Dangerous Woman when she’s with this certain guy who’s dark and mysterious and totally different from her as he’s more sexual and she was slowly beginning to enjoy that and it’s a side of Ariana that we’ve never seen before and she plays that Dangerous Woman role very well in this song. Anyways it’s a truly great song and it’s not the only Ariana song this year to make this list so stay tuned for that
          6. The Weeknd Feat. Daft Punk – Starboy (#58 US/#32 Can.): Like I said earlier it’s been a good year for The Weeknd and the 2nd part of his good year came when he released the album “Starboy” in October and it’s probably one of his best albums for sure & the title track of this song really blew me away because he collaborated with legendary EDM duo Daft Punk who can turn any song into a masterpiece (don’t believe me? Listen to their own hits like Around The World, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger & hell even Get Lucky with Pharrell) and Starboy is no exception with the groovy percussion, the muted piano, the dark beat that is a very signature sound for The Weeknd with a touch of EDM to make it perfect with Daft Punk’s signature backing vocals & The Weeknd’s vocals are pretty good too so in other words the production provided by Daft Punk are GOLD and it’s The Weeknd’s most polished sound of his entire career.
Then we get to lyrics now if you remember on my worst songs list when I talked about Me Too by Meghan Trainor I said that “one of the worst things you can ever do is insult your audience” but the difference between Meghan & The Weeknd is that yes The Weeknd is saying that he’s better than YOU with all the fancy cars, how he has so many women, how he’s rich and has a mansion with all the fancy furniture he’s basically bragging about his success BUT he has the charisma to pull it off unlike Meghan & the huge amount of successful mainstream rappers like Drake, Future & 2 Chainz that does the same thing over and over who are just being nasty and mean & have no charisma at all. The Weeknd also has self-awareness he knows what he’s saying and he does say in the song that he hasn’t changed to get to where he is now he’s still the same dark mysterious guy that we know and enjoy through his music it’s just now he’s at the top of his game thanks to his fans but yet he knows he don’t belong in this famous world so yes he enjoys the success and will enjoy this moment in his career where he’s at the top while also pointing at his fans & singing “look what you done, I’m a motherfucking Starboy” something he longed dreamed of but is unsure if he really wants it as he’s just there to make music and while he doesn’t mind the success he really doesn’t care either. It’s an ego-trip song done right It’s really the better version of Me Too Meghan should be taking some notes haha.
          5. Flume Feat. Kai – Never Be Like You (#60 US/#51 Can.): So I did mention this song already on my worst list when I was discussing that horrid track “Gold” by Kiarra that odd production choices was a thing in 2016 and this song is the best of them this year while the former was the worst and that if you dare make that challenge as a DJ or producer then this is the song that you should look at for trying to do it right. At first I didn’t like this song BECAUSE of the production as it was new to me and I just didn’t really know what to think of this song because the production was so odd & confusing but with more listens I got into it and really liked it and the production which I mentioned on the other list was stuttered muted wobbled synth that fitted really well with Kai’s incredible voice was really good plus there’s also extra percussion, some trap-inspired beats with snaps & claps that made the song better & the twinkling star-ish kind of sounds added with the strings in the verses was a nice touch as well.
The lyrics are pretty straight-forward how she’s upset over a break-up with a certain guy caused by her self-doubt and tore it apart and is looking for forgiveness as she realizes that she’ll never be like him & is sorry for what she did overall it’s a weird song but it’s done extremely well in the coolest way possible and I’m happy that it made this list because this is one of my favorites of the year
        4. Justin Timberlake – Can’t Stop The Feeling (#9 US/#14 Can.): While it’s not Justin’s best song by far this is still truly one of the most upbeat, happy & catchy songs of 2016 something that we desperately needed in such a sad terrible year both in music and in real life. Now I’ve always been a huge fan of JT from his time with NSYNC with such pop jams like Bye Bye Bye & Tearin Up My Heart to his success as solo artist with songs like Like I Love You, Sexyback & of course my all-time favorite Mirrors and he’s been a regular on these lists since I started in 2013 I had Suit & Tie on the list (and if I could go back I would probably put Mirrors there also) and in 2014 I had Not A Bad Thing on that list and this song is certainly no exception the beat is so catchy and fun with that bubbly bassline and groove with hints of guitar and horns added with that disco inspired retro sound and Justin’s vocals are as always impressive so he doesn’t disappoint here and he has so much charisma & energy to back it up and he’s having so much fun on the track which is good to hear
& yes I know it’s a song from the “Trolls” soundtrack so it’s not like lyrics are really gonna matter here but I love it’s simplicity lyrically as Justin is singing about telling people to never let go of that feeling of excitement and fun and just enjoy yourself and get up & “dance, dance, dance” the night away it’s a very uplifting fun track to dance to no doubt about it and it’s one of those songs that I kept coming back to all year long and it was truly my summer jam as well it’s 2016’s Happy or Uptown Funk basically now let’s hope he releases another album already please god…
      3. Kungs & Cookin’ On 3 Burners – This Girl (#37 Can.): Now if you noticed I couldn’t really find a lot of good Canadian music this year on our version of the year-end chart to choose from for my lists & even though my #1 pick was by a Canadian that became popular in the states there wasn’t a lot of horrible all-Canadian songs for me to choose from for the worst list this year outside of ones that probably crossed over from the US because our charts are normally a whole lot better than our neighbours down south where this year a little over 35 songs were in contention and the other 5 or 6 songs that I had from the Canadian one were only mediocre at best with the worst probably being Alan Walker’s “Faded” & that’s not even by a Canadian but was popular in Canada it was a shitty EDM song that was boring as anything but it wasn’t as bad as the ones from the American chart.
On the best side well while we did get some really decent tracks on the year-end this year like Hedley’s “Lose Control” (which almost made this list as an Honourable mention), Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” & MAGIC & Sean Paul’s “Lay You Down Easy” they weren’t the best that I could find but there was one song on the Canadian chart that I was really happy to see because it was another summer jam that I really loved this year and yes it’s not by a Canadian but while it only gained minor success in the states it was a HUGE hit around the world and it was a big hit in Canada too & this is the song I’m gonna be talking about today.
Now EDM continued it’s trend this year of more chill-like house music which became popular in 2015 by DJ’s like Kygo & Robin Schulz. Kungs was this year’s popular DJ in 2016 in the genre when he released “This Girl” with the group Cookin on 3 Burners. It’s truly one of the best dance songs of the year with that very bouncy EDM beat with that nice guitar put in the beginning and in the 2nd verse, the build-up to the chorus is brilliant and when we get to that bass drop it was pure genius with the trumpets & horns & the added synth that makes it fun to dance to & Kylie Auldist who sang this song was brilliant also then we get to the lyrics where it’s another pretty straight forward kind of track of how she’s talking about this guy who keeps trying to buy her love and affection when really she doesn’t want that and wants this guy to SHOW that he loves her and cares about her and that her love can’t be bought. Yeah it’s a pretty simple storyline that’s been done many times since the 60s with The Beatles but this song had good production and instrumentation to boot to make this song great and I’m glad it made the Canadian year-end chart to get on this list because this is truly one of my favorites
          2. Ariana Grande – Into You (#51 US/#30 Can.): I told ya Ariana had a good year in 2016 haha…this song was truly the best upbeat pop song we had this year and is honestly one of Ariana’s best songs of her career. Dangerous Woman was good hell Side By Side her third single from the album with Nicki Minaj was good too (and almost had a shot of making this list too) but Into You was perfect in both production, vocals, instrumentation, lyrics & everything in between.
It’s a powerhouse of a song with this nice 80’s retro sound with the loads of synth with the added snaps in between with the chorus just kicking the synth into overdrive and wow it’s just fun to dance to and Ariana’s vocals does not disappoint as it’s incredible as always because she does a lot of cooing which works on this track and only belts when she needs to which is on the bridge with a fantastic blend of synth with the added chords on the track that builds to this epic crescendo and then goes back to the beat that dials back a little where she sings the chorus and has impressive backing vocals to boot plus her voice sounds so sexy on this track and really has a perfect balance of sultriness in her voice in this song. The lyrics are pretty simple as it’s just basically how she hooked up with a guy and how much she’s so into him. But overall definitely one of the best tracks I heard all year and is definitely on repeat on my iPhone even to this day it’s such a memorable song but there’s still 1 more song left to talk about…
Now we get to our #1 and wow what can I say about this artist? she’s truly one of the best pop stars of not only this year but in the entire 21st century so far as she’s had amazing success from her last two albums (her 2nd one being one of the best selling albums of all time) and this year was no exception when she released her third album last year in the latter part of 2015 (and in fact the lead single off that album almost topped my best list last year) and the success from that album continued into 2016 now I already talked about one of those songs from that album in the honourable mentions but this song while only a minor hit on the charts managed to crack the year-end this year and I’m so glad it did because this is honestly THE best song I heard all year long and one of the best from “25”…oops did I just give that away? oh well you all know who this is so here it goes:
     1. Adele – When We Were Young (#83 US/#73 Can.): I’m sure I’m not only person that thinks that this is the best song of the year and even if 2016 was a good year for the charts this still would’ve been #1 in my books. Again this song is literally one of the best on 25 a beautiful sad piano ballad with that wonderful stripped down piano melody, with the added bass and the percussion that starts out very light and then really builds up in the final chorus with some impressive backing vocals and then we have Adele herself and what can I say? She was brilliant and her vocals really shined in this song very soulful as always with so much emotion and tone to this track as in the lyrics it’s about reuniting with an ex and all the complicated emotions that come with it, the fact that you may be over this person & thoughts of that person were long gone and that you’ve moved on but the feelings come rushing back the moment you see that person again and we’ve all had that moment in our lives I know I’ve had them and in this situation they broke up because she didn’t want to be committed to that one guy at that moment in her life and while she has changed he hasn’t & yes the ex has moved on with his life and she’s happy for him of course in some way but she just wants to have that one last moment with him before it fades away like when they were together when they were young & she hates that feeling but it’s hard to get rid of or forget. In the bridge she’s questioning whether he still has that same feeling as she do or if he even still cares at all and it’s incredibly heartbreaking to hear her sing that. It’s heartbreaking song that really brings a tear to your eye & Adele just blows this out of the water with her incredible vocals and the amazing production as well. No wonder this is Adele’s favorite song & I can see why & it’s truly my all-time favorite of this year, a masterpiece of a song and it’s definitely my #1 pick for the BEST SONG OF 2016.
Well there you have it folks my best & worst lists for 2016 I hope everyone has wonderful 2017 this year and let’s hope that next year we will have much better music than what we had in 2016 :).

KR://insecurities & training
POINTS: 80,300 OBJECTIVE: no one ever said being an idol was easy, it might seem like such a good idea at the beginning - but when it comes to training, a lot of the times your spirit can be shut down as companies try to give you hard treatment so you can grow stronger to take criticism by the public. sometimes, even when your profile is released early to the public, the amount of criticism can be overwhelming for someone who just wants to reach their dreams. yet, many argue that training can go without it. has there ever been a moment in either your training, or debut that you have felt like you didn’t deserve to be an idol? give us a glimpse on your mindset during that time, please be in depth as possible.
**NOTE: these questions are answered by thoughts of what i think jongdae as a muse would say.
what kind of classes did you attend while training under your chosen company?
“ when i was a trainee in SME back in 2011, i didn’t train for that long. if anything i only trained for a short period, around 11 months, before i was put into the debut group for EXO. i do remember that there were classes for singing, rapping, dancing, and language. i did a few for singing and dancing as those were the two that i would have to do the most within the group. i did take lessons at a music academy so, i can say that’s where i did most of my training as well as the few classes i took during my short trainee period.  i think most of my practice came during the years i’ve been in the group. ”
was there someone during your training that made it difficult for you to believe yourself? additionally, was there someone who gave you more courage and emotional support to continue?
“ someone that made my training difficult? i don’t seem to recall anyone making my training difficult. though, sometimes the classes were a bit challenging because we were all trying to make it to debut. i can say that dance class was difficult because it’s not my strongest point, but it wasn’t enough for me to not believe in myself because singing and being on stage was something that i wanted to do. when i was a trainee, i was closer to the chinese members in which i volunteered to take part of the chinese sub-unit of EXO rather than the korean sub-unit. lay hyung was someone that i was close with when we were trainees, but also if it wasn’t for my vocal coach for telling me to audition i wouldn’t be where i was today. ”
what is one of the most important things you learned during your training time?
“ one of the most important things i learned during my training time was to appreciate the things that you’re taught in the long run because they will be valuable to you when you debut. the training is tough for a reason, though even before debut i was lucky enough to appear on a music show. i think i learned more for vocal training through my academy, but i do appreciate what was taught to me during the time i was a trainee. i feel like i learned more into idol life through the company as well as other things that i most likely wouldn’t have in the music academy i was attending. ”
do you wish that there was something someone had told you during your pre-debut days?
“ um, i don’t think there was anything that i didn’t already know what i was going into because we were told a lot to prepare for prior to debut? maybe just that after debut it was only going to get harder. i couldn’t even think that EXO would be the kind of group we are today. ”
did you ever feel like giving up during the hardest points in your training? what kept you going?
“ i think there was a point in everyone’s training period where they wanted to give up, no? trainee life is very hard due to all the stuff that you have to do during that time. everyone is competiting for the same goal and that’s to debut. sometimes people are lucky and don’t have to train long while other’s train for years before actually seeing debut. during the eleven months i’ve trained it was hard because i was transitioning to a group that would promote in china. therefore, i had to learn a whole new language in a short time. i think it was the people that trained with me that made me want to keep going. also the goals i set for myself prior to coming to my debut. ”
did your school friends and family know about your training? were they supportive, or did they further your insecurities to keep going?
“ i don’t believe they did, but then again i was still in high school when i got signed into SM so they could have known? it wouldn’t be a surprise as all i did was sing. ” he laughs a bit. “ uh, my vocal coach was actually the one that told me to audition to an agency and so i tried it out. he was really supportive, my parents at first wasn’t. they didn’t want me to pursue that life of an idol, but after seeing that i was serious about it they ended up supporting me in the end. ”
what is one healthy thing, and one un-healthy thing you learned during training?
“ one healthy thing i learn is to rest. rest is really important and eating healthy. i think if you don’t do those two things you can’t really give it all you got. unhealthy thing is straining yourself? i mean i know we all want to give over 100% even i did it at one point. it hurts you in the long run. remember to rest people. ”
do you tend to be confident or are you someone who easily doubts themselves? how has that tendency influenced your decision making?
“ i think it’s about what and what. i know what i’m most confident in and go through with it, and what i’m not i usually work harder at it. sometimes there are times when i second guess myself and take a step back, but i tend to regret the things that i didn’t opt on doing. i think those doubts effected my decision making by making me miss out of things that could’ve worked out well if i gave it a chance. ”
when the announcement of your debut came about, what were the reactions mostly like? or did you not feel the need to read them?
“ when the announcement came around about EXO’s debut, i think we got good reactions? before our debut i appeared on SBS gayo daejeon along with luhan, tao, and kai and from what i read it was a good reaction from those who had watched. even when the teasers came out the reactions were good though he had many to introduce all the members. so, i think the reactions were good. ”
are you usually the kind to go reading articles and their comments about you and/or your group?
“ i’m not one to do that, i’m not on the computer much nor on my phone often so i really don’t get the chance to read what people have to say about the group unless told to me. i mean everyone has their opinions to like or dislike a group. i’m thankful for the ones that have supported us, and are still supporting us as a group today. ”
have you ever read bad comments about yourself that made you feel bad?
“ as said before i don’t normally go online, but i may have come across a few. sure bad comments tend to make me feel bad whether its about myself or my other members. though, with this i don’t let it get me down too much. actually it only makes me want to work harder so, i don’t usually take it to heart unless it really affects me. ”
what would be something you would want to tell the anonymous writer?
“ something i would want to tell the anonymous writer? i suppose the ones sending in the mean comments and such. probably just to stop. i mean i know they get a kick out of making people upset, and maybe that makes them feel better but really it’s not worth making someone upset because you don’t know what they are going through behind the camera. idols are human too. maybe just go outside and walk around, do something better than typing behind a computer screen about what you hate about someone and putting them down. especially ones who are working hard. you may think it’s funny when it’s actually not. hopefully to those anons they will find something better to do, i hope for your success. ”
has there ever been a moment where you did something that brought bad criticism your way and you felt it was well deserved?
“ my more recent one was the one during a vlive? it gain a lot of mixed reactions due to something that happened. i, nor my members whom were with me at the time didn’t mean for it to go that route as it was a dare gone wrong i would say. after seeing the reactions from it i did feel extremely bad towards my actions and reflected on them for a period of time. i believe i grew from my mistakes and in the future i will be more careful about what i do from now on. ”
just like the question above, has there ever been something good that you have done, but many only took it the wrong way and criticized your the wrong way?
“ i don’t recall getting criticized from something that i’ve done good? honestly i can’t even think of a time when that would’ve happened? though, if there was a time that i did do something that i thought was for a good cause and it was taken the wrong way i apologize in advance. i have no intentions of doing anything wrong that would be considered ill-related.  ”
what is something you’d want to tell those training to be idols surrounding harsh criticism that might come their way once they debut? additionally, do you wish to give them words of strength?
“ for ones who are training still to become idols.. i would say be careful even during your trainee days because things comes back to light in the future. if you ever find yourself in a scandal, accept your mistake and learn from them. step back from a spotlight in order to think over what you’ve done, and learn from it. take your time in coming back, and when you feel like you’re ready to return make sure to be sincere about your change. a word of strength is just to stay strong because it will be rough. though, i’m sure you’ll pull through it. its okay to rely on someone during hard times, you don’t have to be alone during a time of need. ”
are you the type to feel hurt or understand where the criticism is coming from, even if unfair?
“ i’m the type to understand where the criticism would come from. after taking the time to think over my mistakes i could see why the fans or people following the situation would be upset. i think i’m the type to put myself in other’s shoes to see how they would feel if i was them. with that i find that i can learn from my own mistakes, and move on from them even if it’s sometimes unfair. ”
when you come across any bad articles of yourself, is your first instinct to ignore them or read them?
“ i usually scroll past them, but then i end up reading them. if i see them though, i don’t really see articles of myself too much. so, i guess when i do see it i would want to ignore it at first, but then curiosity wins over and i end up reading them. ”
what is something you do that makes all your insecurities go away, if only for a little while?
“ i tend to listen to a lot of music, basically me just listening to my favorite songs can make me feel at ease. writing songs, and singing as well just depends really on what i feeling up for during that time when i feel insecure about something. ”
has there been a time where your company spoke out towards comments that were meant to fuel your insecurities? if so, did you feel like that helped or made you feel worse?
“ um, i don’t think there was a time that i can recall where my company spoke about comments that fueled my insecurties with me just alone. usually, if there was negative comments it was based group wise, but it wasn’t anything that i was worried so much about. though they were negative, they weren’t enough to make me feel bad. ”
