I love how GRRM always positions various Velaryon brothers as having a close bond with each other. Although not much is known about some of the sibling dynamics in the family, when GRRM chooses to write about them, it is with a sense of brotherhood and unity.
Even in such instances where the relationship is only implied in the text, it is as a positive one. Aurane is a bastard and yet he integrates himself amongst the highborn without any issue, suggesting a somewhat polished upbringing in a castle. He also served in the Velaryon fleet, led by his trueborn half-brother Lord of Driftmark, Monford. It's mentioned in the books that bastard children are usually kept away from the family because they are viewed as a source of shame. It is considered very unusual for a bastard to be raised in a castle with their trueborn family (re: Jon Snow). But that could certainly be the case with the Bastard of Driftmark. His moniker does suggest a close association with house Velaryon which means he was not a bastard that was hidden away. Especially when you consider that Aurane, despite being very treacherous and self-serving, never once does anything against his brother's family. When he sets his sight on a castle he wants to claim, it is not Driftmark, but another castle. He sails his powerful fleet past Driftmark thrice and makes no move to attack the seat governed by his late brother’s son even though house Velaryon is in service to the rebel Stannis and Aurane is trying to ingratiate himself with the Lannister regime. Despite the commonly held belief that bastards will seek to harm their trueborn siblings, Aurane is not once shown acting against Monford or his remaining family at Driftmark. All his treachery is reserved for the Lannisters, who are more or less responsible for Monford’s death at the Battle of the Blackwater.
Addam & Alyn's relationship is a prime example of Velaryon brotherhood. Although the narrative presents their identity arcs as Velaryons differently (in relation to their parents), it’s done so in a manner that still connects the brothers to each other. Alyn’s actions are often framed in the text as a "what would Addam do in this situation?" way. They participate in the Red Sowing together and they clearly remained close enough to each other for the duration that Addam was quickly able to save Alyn's life. They get physically separated afterwards only because Alyn is bedbound from his burns. Alyn openly laughs in the face of a King who calls him brother and says that a "brother by blood" is the only true form of brotherhood. Years after Addam's death, Alyn still honors his brother with a touching memorial.
There are several instances of brotherly love shown between Jace/Luke/Joff as well. From defending each other from a bully to all three echoing each other in upholding their mother's claim, they are always in sync. The loss of a brother is expressed openly and the desire for vengeance too.
The more minor instances of brotherhood in the family further showcase this.
Sometimes it's as simple as hanging out together to serve as royal escorts:
Though Daemon Velaryon, as the Crown’s lord admiral and master of ships, was in King’s Landing with the regents, that did not prevent Jaehaerys and Alysanne from flying their dragons to Driftmark and touring his shipyards, escorted by his sons, Corwyn, Jorgen, and Victor.
Other times it's plotting together. The Silent Five may be committing treason, but they do that as a united front:
When they took their case before the sick and failing Viserys, they made the grievous mistake of questioning the legitimacy of his daughter’s children. Viserys had their tongues removed for this insolence, though he let them keep their heads.
.
Three of the “silent five” had died during the Dance, fighting for Aegon II against Rhaenyra…but two survived.
[...]
“Lacking tongues with which to make their appeal, they preferred to argue with swords,” says Mushroom. However, the plot to murder their young lord went awry when the guards at Castle Driftmark proved loyal to the Sea Snake’s memory and his chosen heir. Ser Malentine was slain during the attempt; his brother captured.
The Velaryon brothers who act within the law are also depicted taking action together each time. Interesting how it's not specified which of the two wishes to claim Driftmark for himself, over the other. They are partners in all that they do and that's all that matters:
All came forward now, insisting that they had more right to Driftmark than “this bastard of Hull, whose mother was a mouse.” Ser Vaemond’s sons Daemion and Daeron took their claim to the council in King’s Landing. When the Hand and the regents ruled against them, they wisely chose to accept the decision and be reconciled with Lord Alyn.
I just think it’s neat that regardless of the circumstances of the characters’ upbringing, whether trueborn or bastard, there’s a supportive bond between Velaryon brothers each time.

Tbh, everyone keeps saying they found the chemistry between Matt and Milly very hot but personally, I feel very grossed out every time they were together, even on the bridge of Dragonstone. Idk but knowing the dynamic between them as well as the age gap between the actors, it just grosses me out. As for Emma not having a good chemistry with Matt, I think it was intentional. It was supposed to be wooden and mechanical, because Rhaenyra is no longer a child, therefore an object of fascination to Daemon. Now Rhaenyra is older, a mother of 3. She's much grown but still idolizes him. He uses her again, this time mostly to fulfill his thirst for power for the Iron Throne, whereas he previously desired her for both power and pedophilic attraction. A lot of people ship Daemyra are either unaware or being completely aware that it's a relationship between an abuser and his victim. The power dynamic is off kilter and very skewed. I really hope the scene below in season 2 will open their eyes. Better late than never.

And these people think they are intelligent ? Not only do they sound completely ridiculous, but they also disgust me for being happy to follow and adhere to the showrunners' misguided view of adding physical violence to the Daemyra relationship. And once again, the definition of grooming and pedophilia is available in one click on the internet. It amazes me to see so many of our people use such important and serious big words in a situation that absolutely does not lend itself to it. Also, history books and / or historical research to understand what a historical context is and what it implies are not for dogs.
I would really like to understand what they see as grooming in the show ?
Nothing inappropriate is suggested on Daemon's side as long as Rhaenyra is not of age by the standards of Westeros and our modern standards.
He is literally in a relationship with Mysaria.
He is introduced to us as not often at court and has his own affairs to manage between first his work as leader of the goldcloaks and then his quarrels with Viserys.
The fact that he gives Rhaenyra a simple necklace is not proof of grooming. It mostly seems like a nod to the many gifts mentioned that he always gave Rhaenyra upon returning from his travels, as well as emphasizing their deep connection in comparison to their relationship with Viserys.
Rhaenyra seems to have a crush on Daemon, but Daemon doesn't seem to do anything inappropriate about it.
The only moment where Daemon finally seems to have an real ambiguous interest in Rhaenyra before episode 4 is in episode 2, on the bridge, when he sees 15-year-old Rhaenyra (I remind you that at this age, girls in Westeros are considered marriageable) making her flash and she defeats him.
Then, he found her years later when she was 19 and they spent an evening together where he seduced her and she very willingly let herself be seduced, and in the end, Daemon can't even go through with it his objective which yes, certainly, was not very noble.
But to call it grooming ? WTF ?
Not to mention the fact that Rhaenyra's age, from episode 1, disqualifies her from being able to belong to the definition of pedophilia in the case of Daemon.
As you said, we could talk about ephebophile, but there is in fact no tangible proof, especially because we are in a different historical context compared to the vision of the age, but also because Daemon was in couple with adult women both according to Westeros society and our modern society.
He was in a relationship with Mysaria, an adult, married an adult Rhaenyra, did not seem to be put off by Laena when she was an adult, and in the cut scenes, Daemon literally fucked an adult man.
So no. Even ephebophile doesn't work. Daemon is simply a man who lives in a feudal society where age is not perceived as in ours and overall he has relationships with individuals of any type of age as long as these people are legal according to the standards of his society (book or show) which... is not technically shocking.
Again, the people who are offended have probably never opened a history book, done historical research, or even taken basic history classes.
That or they are stupid or deliberately obtuse.
Again, the definitions of grooming and pedophile are freely available on the internet.
There is no excuse for such a lack of logic / common sense in my eyes.
I would also dare to add that all this is probably also due to an increasingly ridiculous hypocritical purity culture in media analysis... Which for some reason is becoming more and more important.
It's not for nothing that most people giving this kind of speech about Daemyra / Daemon are mainly TG (so Aegon II stans, among other disgusting things...), Team Smalfolk and or Alicent stans after all...
The fact is that I'm tired of seeing these stupid people show off their science with big words to give themselves moral superiority, while the definitions are very easily found... And I don't understand that so many people can adhere to this bullshit.
TG stans really don't like it when you accuse them of their lack of logic and knowledge of the definitions of the words they so eagerly use. Just look:
Tumblr media
They will use any argument, even the most absurd and strange, just to justify themselves and make themselves look better. All the time, they create themselves and their favorites as victims of the system, and they strive to show that TB are just as bad or even worse.
Aegon is a rapist? Daemon is a pedophile and rapist! Aemond is a psychopath, a bully and a murderer? Rhaenyra's children are spoiled bastards who are just like Joffrey, they have no feelings and are completely bully! Alicent is a lying traitor with no real honor? Rhaenyra is a lying whore!
It gets to a point where they have run out of arguments and the fact that "Daemon had an affair with Nettles" is not enough and can be disproved by "Daemon may be Nettles' father" that now they are creating a theory that… Daemon is her father, he knows it and at the same time has an affair with her :P!
They just want to feel like they're the good guys. That's why they slander TB, compare TG to the Stark family from GoT (and TB to the Lannisters), create their strange theories and cast slander, and then react aggressively when you disagree with them. Because they probably know that TG are the "bad guys" and they don't like it.
I block them, but when I see a real absurdity that got into my searches through the filter, sometimes I can't let it go :P They will still be outraged and portray themselves as persecuted victims, so what? Let them live in their imaginary world, the series will end one day and they will be left with nothing.

that wasn't why she was mad though, well it was and wasn't. it wasn't that she had sex necessarily, but more the weight and nuance of it all, of Rhaenyra being the princess, who Alicent had been trying her best to serve the best interest of and protect in terms of betrothals and Viserys, having sex in a very public place. she was clearly upset and holding back tears when she confronts Rhaenyra that first time, but she isn't especially angry. she's angry when Rhaenyra lied to her face on her dead mother's name, going so far as to act upset and offended Alicent could ever insinuate anything about her, played the victim, had sex with two separate people in one night and said she was still a maiden (from Alicent's perspective she couldn't have known Rhaenyra only tried to have sex with Daemon and was unsuccessful, she could only believe that she had sex with both Daemon and Criston), and then used her power to have her father (the only person Alicent had) banished from kings landing, all the while she had put her ass on the line for her in front of Viserys, who never believed Rhaenyra to begin with. it wasn't simply the fact that Rhaenyra had sex, she's mad because Rhaenyra used her, hurt her, did harm to her name and the work both she and Viserys had put towards giving her a choice no royal girl, especially a princess, could ever imagine, and she spit in their faces.
there's also the fact that Cole admitted IMMEDIATELY what had transpired, asked not for forgiveness but for death, and admitted that it was dubcon. it's a very different situation. she also sympathized with the fact he felt great remorse for both the act of sleeping with the princess but also his breakdown that lead to the murder of Joffery. all we see is her stopping him and then a near decade has passed and they are close friends, we know nothing of how this friendship evolved, when she fully forgave him for his acts, what it took for him to earn her trust and forgiveness.
not saying either of them are saintly and perfectly correct in that situation, but you boil it down to the point that the situation is unrecognizable. you ignored all of the nuance on both sides. Alicent was never mad about the sex, upset yes, mad no, she was mad at how Rhaenyra could hurt her so horribly (amongst many other things. I don't think she, someone who shared her grief with Rhaenyra over their dead mother's, could ever get over how Rhaenyra lied on her name. me personally? I'd be sick to my stomach every time I looked at her for the rest of my days). Cole was coerced into sex, which he was honest and seeked death for repentance, had a breakdown and murdered someone (I won't defend this, you can't, he did murder an innocent person, that is a fact) but felt so guilty he tried to kill himself and seemingly spent the last 10ish years making up for it (where as I can name multiple people Rhaenyra outright in level head and mind maimed/murdered/otherwise allowed or dismissed the deaths/injury of, for her own goals and didn't give a second thought to so.... girly walks atop barely cooled corpse's time and time again).

Little dragon - Aegon Targaryen x Niece Valeryon(Targaryen)!Reader
Tumblr media
Warning : typical inscet Targaryen, Aegon being soft(?), angst, mention of blood, labor.
Tumblr media
Two years after the marriage between Rhaenyra and Leanor and also after repeated failures in trying to get pregnant, Rhaenyra today gave birth to her first daughter. You were born healthy, have Targaryen beauty with a silver hair on your head.
You were fast asleep in your mother's arms who was smiling at you, then the door of her chambers opened to reveal Leanor entering in a hurry “I heard it, a girl. oh this is great news”
Leanor comes closer and strokes your cheek gently, you open your eyes and look at him. "She has your eyes, she is very beautiful" Leanor smiles at Rhaenyra and he nodded his head.
Soon enough news of your birth reached King and Queen ears. The two of them immediately went to your mother's chambers to see how you two were doing.
“oh my daughter, I am proud of you. I hope the birth goes smoothly." Viserys approached his daughter and gave her a warm hug which Rhaenyra immediately returned.
"She was born without any fuss father" Rhaenyra smiled and looked at Alicent who was holding her daughter.
"She’s so beautiful, what a lovely babe you have bought to this world my love."
Rhaenyra laughed softly at her father's demands, she held her father's hand tightly. “she has her father eyes” Alicent spoke quietly while looking at you carefully.
“indeed your grace, she's the perfect mix of me and Rhaenyra” The king smiled hearing Leanor say that
"Have you given her a name?" Rhaenyra looked at her stepmother and nodded, she had thought of a suitable name for you long before you were born.
"Her name is, y/n" Viserys smiled and gently stroked his daughter's arm. "That's a beautiful name for a beautiful princess"
“y/n, I'm sure you will grow up to be a very beautiful princess in the future.”
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and months turned into years. You're now already ten and fifteen name days old, what Alicent said is true. You grew up to be a beautiful princess and was highly respected at court, You are a very innocent , shy and cheerful girl.
Two years after your birth, your mother gave birth to your younger brother, Jacaerys. A few years later your mother again gave birth to a son, Lucerys and now, a few days before your name day celebration. Your mother gave birth to a son again who was named Joffrey.
You are very happy knowing you have many siblings, but the physical differences between you and your other siblings make you not very uncomfortable with all the whispers that speak ill of your mother and siblings.
Tumblr media
"Father, I want you to crown Aegon as the next heir to the throne."
Everyone at the council table fell silent and looked at Rhaenyra in surprise, including Otto and Alicent. Viserys choked on his wine, he looked at his daughter in disbelief. Rhaenyra took a deep breath before she looked at her father's face.
"I realize that the realm will not agree if a queen sits on the iron throne"
She knew very well that if one day she ascended the throne, many would oppose her and there would be war. because the situation had changed when Aegon was born, the son the king had longed for.
"However, before that I want to give you one condition."
Otto and Alicent looked at Rhaenyra carefully, feeling happy and anxious at the same time. Viserys was just silent and listened to every word his daughter said.
"I attended to marry my daughter, my heir. y/n to Aegon, let them rule the kingdom together”
While on the other side in the keep, you are reading your book in the garden, sometimes you just want to be alone and away from the hustle and bustle of the court. While you are enjoying the book you are reading, your attention is distracted by someone standing in front of you.
"Princess, I'm sorry to interrupt your time. but the King and Queen is waiting for your presence in council chamber." you turned your gaze and looked at Ser Criston Cole. you smiled and nodded slowly “thank you Ser Criston”
You stood up and straightened your dress a little, you walked confidently towards the council chamber. You smile and greet everyone you meet in the hallway.
When you walk in, you can see the presence of your mother, the Kinb, Queen and also the king's hand. You bowed your body slightly before finally walking closer to your mother.
"I’m sorry for the disturbance, princess. but there is something important we have to discuss with you, please have a seat” you looked at Alicent and nodded slowly.
“Oh not at all your Grace, you don't disturb my time at all.”
“Your mother just spoke about something” You listened carefully and nodded slowly, you could see your mother was very nervous but she still smiled in front of you.
Your grandsire sigh before he speak “She wants Aegon to be the next heir to the throne” this is when you looked at your mother in surprise, you didn't understand what she was thinking. Alicent, who realized how surprised you were, cleared her throat softly and continued her husband's words. "We were just as surprised as you, princess."
“you’re the princess of the realm and you have duties to full field. you have to marry and bring an heir of yourself, i attend to marry you with Aegon” As the king continues speaking you’re silent for a moment, the decision you must accept for the peace of the realm or maybe the peace for this family.
“my love? what do you think about this?” Your mother's voice brought you out of your thoughts, you looked at everyone carefully before you finally gave your answer
“I can't possibly refuse this grandsire, if this is the best decision then I accept it” you smiled.
Hearing this made Viserys smile, he then looked at his wife and daughter. “then it’s settled then, you will be married to Aegon in several months”
After the conversation in the council chambers, you and your mother are now in her chambers. You looked at your mother in astonishment, “What are you thinking? What does all this mean? I have no problem marrying Aegon. but why do you ask to change the order of the throne?”
you can see your mother sigh and massage her temples slowly, she looks at you and you can see the worry and tiredness on her face . "I just want to prevent war, my dear, if later when I ascend the throne, the entire realm will definitely not accept it well. no queen has ever sit the iron throne before”
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, you heard your mother's bedroom door being forced open and revealed your father, Leanor, who looked in a hurry. “What the fuck did I just hear? is it true that you asked Aegon to be heir to the throne?”
You looked at your father in shock, it seemed like your father didn't realize you were there. your mother looked at your father and then looked at you, “dove, I will talk to your father. You can go back to your quarters."
Your father, who just realized your presence, flinched, he smiled awkwardly. "My love, sorry I didn't see you. I'll see you after this." You just nodded and walked out of your mother's chambers , you decided to go back to the garden.
You just nodded and walked out of your mother's room, you decided to go back to the garden. Now in the same place you go back to reading your book, to divert the thoughts that are running around in your head.
“well hello beautiful, what are you doing here?”
You looked away from the book and saw Aegon standing in front of you with his signature smile, you smiled and then closed your book.
“Uncle, I was just reading my book” you smiled then shifted a little so he could sit next to you.
“Sorry dove, I can't bring you flowers today” you could hear the disappointment in his voice and you laughed softly.
"It's okay, just having you here makes me happy"
Aegon lay his head on your lap, you smiled and continued your reading. "Do you know? "This book, it really disturbs my view right now" Aegon took the book in your hand and put it aside, you laughed softly and looked at his face.
"Hey, I'm telling the truth, I'm looking at the most beautiful woman's but the book is blocking my view."
You smiled and gently ruffled his hair, Aegon just laughed softly when he saw you were embarrassed. he likes to see you blush and also laugh out loud when you're around him.
"I was very happy when I found out I would marry you"
You looked at him in shock, you didn't expect that he already knew about it. "I heard the conversation with my grandfather when I was called to his room, are you happy with this dove?"
You shook your head slowly, “of course i’m happy Aegon.” You gently combed his hair and said "I can't think of a more suitable husband for me."

The great sept was decorated with a symphony of colors and opulence greeted the eyes of all who entered. Flowers of every hue adorned the edges, their fragrance mingling with the air.
As you made your way down the aisle, the guests turned their heads, their eyes widening in awe. The radiant bride, accompanied by your father, glided with grace and elegance. you look breathtaking, with white gown that hug your curve perfectly, and your neat braided hair.
At the end of the aisle stood Aegon, the new heir to the throne and your betrothed. His presence was strong and radiating, his eye locked on you with unwavering adoration. You can see his smiles reflected a shared joy, celebrating the union that was about to take place.
On your side of the aisle, your mother, Rhaenyra stood as your pillar of support. Clutching the bouquet of white roses, her eyes glistened with tears of happiness. you two shared a glance, their bond unbreakable, a silent reassurance of love.
The septon, adorned in his ceremonial robes, stood before the altar, ready to officiate the union. The guests held their breath, their eyes fixed on the couple before them, as the sacred vows of love and loyalty would be exchanged.
As you took your place beside Aegon at the altar, "You may now cloak the bride and bring her under your protection." the septon's voice voice resonated through the sept, his words carrying the weight of tradition and sacredness.
Aegon then removes your 'Maidens cloak' bearing the sigil of your birth house, Velaryon and replaced it by cloak' of Targaryen house signifying that Aegon taking over the protection of you.
"We stand here in the sight of gods and men to witness the union of man and wife: one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever.” The septon's powerful proclamation reverberated through the grand sept, reaching the ears of all the guest. As the septon continued with his sermon.
The septon's voice carried the weight of tradition and solemnity as he guided you and Aegon through the final steps of their union. With gentle yet purposeful movements, he began to tie their hands together with a ribbon, symbolizing the binding of their souls as one for eternity.
"In the sight of the Seven," the septon declared, his words resonating through the hallowed space of the grand sept, "I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity." The ribbon encircled their joined hands.
Turning towards each other, your eyes locked once again, you and Aegon spoke in unison, your voices blending harmoniously as they uttered the sacred words. The presence of the gods seemed to permeate the air, lending an air of sanctity to the moment.
"Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger..." their voices carried the weight of conviction and devotion.
"I am hers and she is mine. From this day, until the end of my days," Aegon vowed, his voice filled with unwavering commitment.
"I am his and he is mine. From this day, until the end of my days," you echoed. Their voices intertwined, their souls merging in that sacred space.
Aegon’s eye shimmering with unwavering love, gently cradled your face in his hands. His touch was tender, filled with a reverence befitting the solemnity of the moment.
With a soft, lingering touch, Aegon's lips met yours, your first kiss as husband and wife. And their first kiss ever. It was a gentle meeting of souls. In that intimate embrace, time seemed to stand still, the world fading away, leaving only the warmth of their connection.
The guests watched in awe and reverence as the couple sealed their vows with this symbolic gesture. The room was filled with a palpable energy, a collective recognition of the sacredness of the union unfolding before them.
As their lips parted, Aegon whispered, "With this kiss, I pledge my love to you, y/n Targaryen." His words echoed through the hall.
your eyes sparkled with joy as you met Aegon gaze. your voice whispered, "And with this kiss, I pledge my love to you, Aegon Targaryen.”
The septon, catching the low exchange, cleared his throat and raised his voice even louder, ensuring that all present heard his proclamation. "Let it be known that Aegon Targaryen of House Targaryen and y/n Velaryon of House Velaryon are one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he who would seek to tear them asunder.” The room erupted into thunderous applause and cheers, the joyous sound echoing throughout the grand hall of the Great Sept.

You couldn't believe that it had been almost a year since you and Aegon had been married, and in a matter of days the two of you would be holding your first child.
love what are you doing? you should been resting in our chambers” You turned your head and saw your husband walking over with Aemond beside him. You smiled and tried to stand up from your chair but Aegon quickly held you back.
“just please stay seated, i know this pregnancy had make you suffer” you smile and kiss his lips that makes Aemond groan. “she’s here at the request of both of us, Aegon” Alicent's voice made the three of you turn around, you saw the queen walking along with your mom, Rhaenyra. Their relationship only got better after the day you and Aegon got married, and honestly that made you happy.
They want to discuss several important matters with the kingdom. Since your grandsire health became increasingly worse, Aegon began to learn to manage the kingdom, of course accompanied by the queen and your mother.
“but mother, will y/n be okay? we don't know when the babe will be born” you could hear the worry and worry in his voice, you smiled and took his hand giving his hand reassuring squeeze. "I'll be fine, especially if the babe is born today. everyone is ready”
The meeting went smoothly, Aemond informed that the security of Kings Landing had improved with the addition of Gold Cloak troops in the city. Rhaenyra also said that the war taking place in the narrow sea was under control, you listen to everything that is said. Aegon of course also sometimes gives advice.
You felt pain in your stomach which made you shift uncomfortably in your chair, no one noticed it apart from your husband. Aegon looked at you worriedly and stroked your hand from under the table, “I'm fine, just a little tired” you said quietly with a smile.
Aegon nodded and focused himself again on the meetings, but he knew that something was wrong with you. you tried your best to hold back the pain which was getting worse, you whimpered softly making everyone look at you worriedly. "My love? What’s wrong?" you can hear your mother's voice. you couldn't answer and could only whimper softly, you could feel something running down your leg and you knew very well that something was wrong now.
“Is it the babe? shit, Aemond, call the Maester and the midwives to my chambers now!" Aegon shouted at Aemond and immediately carried you towards your chambers. you groaned and hugged your husband's neck tightly, ‘what happened?’ You are very scared now, You are afraid that something will happen to the babe, many women in your family have died or their babies have not survived the birthing process.
Aegon laid you down on the bed and looked towards the door, “where are the fucking midwives! hurry fucking up!” he screamed like crazy, he didn't want anything to happen to his babe, something to happen to you.
Your mother and also Alicent tried to help you to stay calm, they wiped the sweat that appeared on your forehead, give words of encouragement and also hold your hand. Your breathing are becoming hard and your vision starts to blur because of the pain and tears that accumulate on your eyelids.
“it hurts mothers, this hurts so much” you cried softly as you squeezed both of their hands, Aegon looked back at you and immediately knelt beside your bed. “Dove, look at me.” You looked at him, his gaze radiating worry and fear.
“I'm here, I'll be by your side. please hang in there” he whispered and kissed your forehead.
Not long after you are now surrounded by many midwives and also the Maester. Scream after scream could be heard clearly throughout the Red Keep making everyone who heard it shudder in horror, they knew that their princess was fighting between life and death to give birth to her first child with the prince.
"If you feel any contractions, I want you to start to push, princess.”
The voice of the midwife was faint, you gripped Aegon’s forearm until your nails turned white. Aegon kept his word to be by your side, he ignored your mother and Alicent's words. said that the birthing room was not he right to attend. Another scream was heard indicating that another contraction hit your body, with all the strength, you began to push.
"I feel the head! a few more pushes and he'll be here."
you pushed with all your might and after a few moments you threw your head back on the pillow and took a deep breath, you could heard a very loud cry which made your heart feel relieved. You looked at the midwife who was smiling broadly while holding a red bundle in her hands.
"congratulations princess, you have a son. a healthy one, he’s kicking like a goat"
you smiled weakly and with the remaining strength you had you reached out your hand to take your son, you looked at your son face with a small smile adorning your tired and sweaty face. you could feel Aegon kiss your forehead, “you did it, you gave birth to our child.”
You smiled at your husband and slowly gave your son into his arms. You smiled seeing him cradling your son. after a moment you closed your eyes as you felt the pain wash over your body once again, a small groan escaped your lips which made Aegon look at you worriedly.
"What is this? Is this the afterbirth?” you, with panicked eyes looked at the midwife. The midwife then looked under the blanket, in a worried tone she directed the other midwife to get ready.
"my apologize princess, but it looks like you are pregnant with twins. for that I hope if possible you should come to push as you felt another contraction”
you looked Aegon in shocked and prepared again to give birth to your second babe. With the remaining strength you had, you started to push ad you feel another painful contraction. You twitched in pain and that makes Aegon worried. “it’s hurt! i can’t do this please make it stop”
You cried which made Aegon walk towards the Maester “what happened? why is she in pain?!” Maester came closer and felt your stomach to check what was wrong with the babe, you saw his face change and became afraid.
“I'm sorry prince, but I think this baby is breech” breech? oh my gosh you're even more scared now, your cries are mixed with very scary screams.
“For this, we can do a procedure where we rotate the babe so that it is in the correct position or we can cut the mother's womb so that we can take the babe out”
Aegon looked at the Maester in horror, angrily Aegon pointed the dagger at his neck. "Don't ever think I will allow you to cut open my wife!"
you cried and called his name, Aegon looked at the Maester sharply and immediately walked closer to you. "my love it’s okey, i’m here you’re safe. I won't let anyone cut open your womb, there’s no fucking way," he suppressed all his words.
Your fear grew bigger when the maester approached and started to feel your stomach, "Sorry princess, but this might hurt a little" you just nodded and squeezed Aegon's hand when the Maester did his job, the pain was all you felt. You screamed in pain and told him to stop, after a while the Maester looked back at the midwives and nodded.
“alright princess, if you feel one more contraction I want you to push, okay?” You nodded weakly, you were very tired now. Your nightgown is wet because of your sweat, there is also a lot of blood on it. You took a deep breath as you felt the pain and contractions slowly creep through your body, with the remaining strength you had you tried to give birth your child.
You shook your head and leaned back against the pillow, crying and looking at your husband. he looked very messy, his hair was messy and his eyes were bloodshot. Aegon's heart ached, it hurt when he saw his soulmate looked like this.
“my love, you have to do this. I know it hurts a lot, but I won't be able to live without you. I'm begging for my sake, for the sake of our child” Aegon kissed your forehead several times while continuing to say those words, you realized that your husband and children needed you.
You took a deep breath before you finally pushed with the remaining strength you had. After a few moments the sound of the baby crying was heard, which was not too loud but clear. you turned your head to look for your babe and you can felt your heart hurt, you was afraid something had happened to your little babe.
“Aegon? what happened? please tell me that the babe is okey? right?” You turned to Aegon and looked at him sadly, Aegon was also feeling very worried. he didn't know what happened because after your baby came out, the midwives immediately took him away.
"Congratulations my prince, you have a daughter” the maester's voice sounded, making your heart feel relieved, you took a deep breath and lay back down.
Aegon smiled and kissed you several times while whispering words of thanks. You smiled and stroked his cheek gently, "This is my duty, husband. If you don’t mind I want to sleep now” he chuckled softly and kissed your forehead once more before walking out with his daughter in his arms to let you get some rest.

Summary:
After five years at war in the Stepstones and the death of his first wife, Daemon Targaryen returns to court embroiling himself, and his niece and heir to the throne Rhaenyra, in chaos and scandal. Daemon’s actions cause Viserys to give him the one thing he has always wanted. A Valyrian bride. Just not the one he had in mind.
“Maybe we should put it up? In a braid?” She had suggested to Rhaenyra when they were deciding what to do with her hair, wanting the relief of it being lifted off her neck. She was uncommonly hot, and Daella was not sure if it was her lack of sleep or the much too hot bath that was run for her this morning by the random handmaid she had been offered by Rhaenyra for the morning.
“I don’t think that will work with the headpiece.” Rhaenyra replied, picking it up to inspect it, twirling it around in her hands, its embroidery casting shards of white light to dance over the walls of the room. “Besides, he will prefer it down.”
“Mm, down it is then.” Daella hums, rubbing lotion into her hands as she sits in the stool in front of the vanity.  Rhaenyra comes up behind her, brush in hand, smiling softly, beginning to remove the strips of silk that were braided through Daella’s hair keeping her curls in place.
“We could do two braids at the side, keep it out of your face? I have a ruby clip that matches your necklace.” She offers, as Daellas' hair begins to pool around her. She had been letting it grow since the news of her betrothal had reached her and it now reached the top of her waist.
“That would be perfect.” Daella says softly. Rhaenyra watches her clearfully, running the brush lightly through her hair. She turns to Cassana, signalling her to go fetch the clip, before moving to lean in front of Daella, grabbing her hands in her own.
“Marra will come around. Give her some time.” Rhaenyra smiles softly.
“I’m about to do the one thing she does not want me to do.”
“Not by your own choice. She is worried about you, if anything this just shows how much she cares about you.”
Daella does not see anything for a moment, just simply rubs her thumbs along Rhaenyra’s hands. If it wasn’t for Rhaenyra, she would be completely alone. “You and Alicent never made up.” She points out.
“No, but that was a betrayal of her own volition.” Daella watches her tense slightly at the mention of her former friend. Rhaenyra gives her hands a small squeeze before standing and returning to Daella’s hair. “Your situation is very different.”
“Does she have a reason?” Daella can't help but ask one more time.
“For what?”
“To be worried about me?”
Rhaenyra laughs softly, shaking her head. It must be her at least the tenth time had asked this question, in various different forms, with each time getting her the same answer.
“My uncle is a lot of things, cold and cruel among them. But I swear to you, Daemon will not hurt you or cause you any pain.” Rhaenyra catches Daella’s eyes in the mirror. “Besides, he is completely enamoured with you.”
“We haven’t even held a conversation longer than ten words.” It was Daella's turn to laugh now.
“Words don’t mean a whole lot to my uncle.”

Daella legs are weak as she exits the oxcart that has pulled up outside the Dragon Pit. Her father clammers out behind her, waving to the crowds of small folk that have gathered to get a glimpse at their new Princess and bride of the Rogue Prince. He grips the back of her arm tightly.
“Wave, these are your people now.” He hisses. Daella raises her hand, smiling and waving softly. As she looks around, she spots Maelor standing at the foot of the steps. She has to stop herself from screaming and running to him, but does begin her dash towards him, ignoring her fathers demanding wishes to come back to him. She reaches him, wrapping her arms around his neck pulling him towards her into a hug.
“I told you that you would abandon me!” She says softly, teasingly.
“I did not abandon you.” Maelor shakes his head, offering her his arm as they run to make their way up the grand steps. “I was spending time with my betrothed. As you were, I heard.” He was smirking.
“Stop it” Daella giggles. “It’s been a nightmare. I only met him three times, two of which were by accident.” She whispers.
“And?”
“He was pleasant enough.” Maelor snorts at this. Daella shoots him a look. “Don’t you start too. I’ve already lost Marra to this nonsense.”
“You haven’t lost her. She spent yesterday evening crying in my chamber.” Daella shakes her head. Maelor pulls them to a stop once they reach the top of the steps. The large wooden doors of the Pit lying wide open, she can hear the people inside chattering amongst themselves, and a familiar figure standing just at the door. “She thinks you're going to have her shipped back to Volantis.”
“So I marry a man she deems cruel and now I am also?” Daella laughs, the notion is so insane to her she doesn’t have time to be offended by it.
“It’s Marra being Marra. Give her time.” Maelor says, his head turning to look over at the figure standing at the door. “You will tell me?”
“Tell you what?” Daella questions.
“If he hurts you.” Maelor whispers. Daella glances towards Daemon who is now watching them, not really listening to Maelor. “Do not let the next chapter of your life be the same as the first.”
“What?” Daella's head whips back to her brother. Maelor is staring at her, eyes glazed with tears.
“Marra told me. Her only chance before she got shipped off to Volantis I guess.” Maelor jokes softly. “You should have told me. I would hav-”
“There is nothing you could have done. He does the same to you. We both did what we could to protect each other from it.”
Maelor nods softly, pulling his sister in for a hug, gently placing a kiss to the side of her head. Daella savours the hug for a moment, before a voice causes them to pull apart.
“Princess? We are ready for you now.” A man in grey robes approaches them. Daella nods at him, before looking back to Maelor. He gives her a soft smile. Daella walks with the man towards the door, her husband to be watching. He is already dressed in his robes.  Daella smiles at him as she approaches.
“Hello.” She says stopping in front of him. Daemon looks down at her, taking her in. Her dress was made of thin fabric, the expensive kind only found in rich markets across the Jade Sea. It was flowy and whipped magically in the soft wind. It was cut low, the red fabric sitting on her edge of shoulders, the bodice embroidered with gold swirls and dragons. The bottom of the dress was dipped in black, and gold jewels decorated her wrists, fingers and neck. She was the picture of the perfect Valyrian bride.
“Hello.” He says back, watching as her cheeks burn from his visual assault. The man in the grey robe approaches again, her robes in hand. She moves to allow him to place the robe on her, wrapping it around her before tying the belt and walking away. “Nervous?”
“A little.” Daella breathes, looking into the large pit that currently houses a couple of hundred men and women.
“Don’t be. No one in there matters but you and I.” Daemon says, his hand reaching out to grab the head piece from the robed man. “Let me.”
“That’s a brave thing to say about a room that houses the King.” Daella retorts as Daemon places the gold piece on her head. He laughs gently, leaning back to look at her.
“Vok.” He remarks, turning to face the door fully. Daella follows suit as an older man, dressed in a more extravagant embellished grey robe approaches them from inside the pit.
“ivestragī īlva rhaenagon, kessa.” He states, turning back around, he singles for them to follow him. “Māzigon.”
Daella and Daemon walk along behind the senior dragon keeper into the pit. The room goes quiet as they watch their prince and his to-be wife make their way down the aisle together. Daella can pick up on some confused whispering.
“Have they never seen a Valyrian wedding before?” Daella whispers. Daemon shakes his head. She was shocked. She assumed at least one of their ancestors would have married in this way. As they reach the end of the aisle she finds Maelor, standing with their father. She sees Viserys, sitting, not only with the Hand Lord Strong by his side, but along the Queen. It’s the first time Daella had seen her. She was young, and pretty, just as Marra had said. Her hand was resting on Viserys in a comforting way, and in that moment Daella saw her as older than both herself and Rhaenyra would. He felt a fleeting feeling of sorrow for her.
Her eyes then found Rhaenyra who was smiling brightly at her, Laenor and the Velaryons seated near her. She bows her head at Rhaenyra, before letting her eyes flicker around some more. She could not find her. Did she not show up?
“Behind, second row, to your left.” Daemon whispers, just as they reach the steps. Daella turns her head before she makes her way up to them, locking eyes with Marra. Marra smiles at her, a tight lipped smile.
She climbs the steps onto the platform, the large altar of candles taking up most of the room. She and Daemon stand directly in front of it, turning to face each other. The dragon keeper standing off to their left. He holds his hands up, and the doors of the pit are pulled closed, silence enveloping the room.
“Hen lantoti ānogar, Va sȳndroti vāedroma,” He begins.
Daemon is handed the small piece of dragon glass, he looks at Daella lips, hand reaching up to hold her head in his hands. He lifts the shard to her lips, softly cutting a small slit down the middle of her bottom lip. His thumb runs along her lip, collecting the blood that is slowly beginning to seep from it. His eyes now meet hers, as he lifts his blood covered thumb to her forehead and marks it with fire.
“Mēro perzot gīhoti, Elēdroma iārza sīr,”
Daella breathes in as Daemon moves to give her the shard indicating it is now her turn. She takes it from him, her free hand reaching up to grip his chin. She realises that that is the first time she had ever touched him. He has touched her, but she's never had her hands on his body. Unable to stop herself she gently strokes her jaw with her thumb, before raising the dragon glass to his lip. She makes the cut, lighter than she intended, but enough to collect some blood on her thumb, raising it to his forehead, marking him with blood.
“Izulī ampā perzī, Prūmī lanti sēteksi,”
She has to stop herself from correcting the mark as it begins to smudge, pulled from it as Daemon reaches for her free hand to retrieve the dragon glass shard. He turns his left hand palm up and holds it flat, slicing into it, cutting a long line along it. He holds it up, allowing the blood to pool in his palm as he hands the shard back. Daella takes it, softly slipping it into her left hand, holding her right hand just as Daemon had done with his left. It was then she realised how badly she was shaking. She placed the tip of the blade just under her index finger, trying to calm herself before making the cut.
Daella glances over at her father, who is now glaring at her. She is now aware that she is taking a long time. Longer than she should be, but before she breaks eye contact, she feels a hand reach under her flattened hand, grabbing her wrist to keep it still. Her eyes snap to Daemon who nods down at her hand. Daella lets go of the sigh she did not know she was holding, before cutting into her own skin.
“Hen jenȳ māzīlarion, Qēlossa ozūndesi,”
They move their bloody hands together, fingers wrapping around each other and blood flows to the ground beneath them. The dragon keeper moves forward, taking a piece of cloth and wrapping it around their intertwined hands, before shuffling off again. Daella’s eyes flicker back to Daemons, who are staring right back, a small smile on his lips. One only she can see.
“Sȳndroro ōñō jēdo”
A cup is placed in front of her, and Daella takes it, raising it to her lips, not taking her eyes off Daemon. She takes a small gulp of the wine that is housed within the cup, before handing it to Daemon. He does the same, raising it to his lips, eyes still trained on her, pulling their bloody hands closer to his chest. His thumb that was not encased in the soaked fabric was slowly rubbing her still exposed knuckles in comfort.
“Rȳ kīvia mazvestraksi.” The dragon keeper finished. That was the Daella’s favourite part of Valyrian weddings. They were short, but intimate in a way she could not explain. She smiles at Daemon, as his eyes flicker down to her lips. Daemon leans towards her, his right hand moving up to finger through her hair and pulling her head towards him. She lets him pull her towards him, head dipping down to meet his lips with hers. Daella leans up into it, eyes closing. It’s the first time she had been kissed. She can hear the crowd that has been watching them begin to clap and cheer, kiss marking the end of the ceremony. She pulls away for a moment, wanting to catch her breath, but Daemon pulls her back for another more intense one this time, his tongue running along her lip, hungry for the blood that still freshly seeped from her lip.

Daemon stops before the wooden door, hanging his head and sighing, collecting himself for a few moments. He had managed to avoid a bedding ceremony by having Rhaenyra sneak Daella out of the hall, before slipping out himself after. While Daemon was not necessarily opposed to bedding ceremonies, in fact he had partaken in a few himself, the thought of other men touching and stripping Daella disturbed him. He could picture it, her innocent eyes welling up with fear and tears as some old fuck from the Crownlands tried to get at her breasts or cunt, and he would refused to have the image shown to him in real time.
Daemon had spent a great deal of time battling with his affection for the girl he barely knew. It confused him deeply. He had assumed he would hate the girl, she would become a second Rhea, in both marriage and fate. But the moment her tear rimmed valyrian eyes had looked up at him in Mellos room mere seven nights ago, he had felt a shift. It wasn’t love, but an odd mix of aggressive lust and possessiveness that he had never felt for anyone before but Rhaenyra, and Daella was permitted. She was all his.
He pushes opening the door, stepping into the chamber, before turning to close it. He debates if he should open it and leave again. He didn’t consummate his first marriage, who will stop him from doing the same with this one? He makes the decision to lock the door and enter further into the chamber, moving towards the wine pitcher and cups sitting on the small table. He pours himself a cup, larger than socially acceptable and downs it.
Daella watches her new husband from the end of the bed. Her hands tucked under her thighs, and she had already indulged in her own cup of wine. He hadn’t even glanced her way.
“How is your hand?” He asks, watching as Daella slipped her still bandaged hand out from under the thigh.
“The bleeding has stopped. Mellos gave me some milk of the poppy to dull the stinging.” Daella answers, turning her hand palm up, showing off the clean white linen. It was her third of the evening, the others all becoming soaked with blood at various points throughout the feast.
“Good. Go easy on the milk.” Daemon instructs. Daella laughs internally at him, the strictness in his tone. Daemon must see this playing out in her head as he speaks again, “I do not jest Daella.”
“I know.” She says softly, smiling at him, going quiet again. Silence permeates the room. Daella takes to looking at the floor. They both know why they are here, what they are expected to do, but neither wants to bring the topic to the surface. After a while of uncomfortable silence, Daemon makes the first move.
“Maiden, I assume?”  Daemon clears his throat while asking.
Daella looks back up at him and nods. She’s not sure, but she thinks she can see a flash of pity in his eyes.
“We don’t-”
“No. I want to.” Daella interrupts quickly, not letting him finish what she knows he is about to suggest. Daemon raises his eyebrows at the interruption, setting his cup down.
“He will want proof.” She whispers, looking down to play with lace that frills along her nightgown.
Daemon hums. He refills his cup, takes it with him as he positions himself in the soft plush seat that faces the bed.
“You answer to me now, not him.”
“I know, but he is still my father.” Daella sighs. “You do not know him, what he can be like.”
“I think I’ve made a reasonable assumption.”
Daella does not respond. She knows he knows. Whether he disagrees with him is another question that is currently unanswered. She began playing with the frill of her nightgown again, eyes lingering on her lap, the floor, anything but him.
She can feel it, his gaze, she can almost hear his thoughts. He’s deciding whether he wants to stay or leave. Stays, and he protects her. Leaves, and he abandons her. It feels like an eternity, waiting for him to make up his mind. She hears him lift himself from the seat with a small grunt. She can take her eyes off the floor as she waits for him to make his decision, his shadow coming into frame as he walks towards her. Daella breathes in softly as she feels his hand cup her chin, tilting his head up to look at him.
“What a brave little thing you are, hm.” He whispers, running his thumb along her plump bottom lip. “Do you know how it is done?”
Daella nods, eyes meeting him. She did. Her father had hired a woman from a pleasure house in Volantis before they left for Westeros to instruct the young bride in the "womanly" arts of love. Thankfully the woman had taken pity on her and had only explained how it was done in the kindest way she could.
Daemon is looking down at her, eyes taking in every fraction of her face. Her eyes are lighter than he first remembered them being, her soft cheeks tinged with a light pink blush, lips still rosey with whatever rouge Rhaenyra had applied to her this morning. She is perfect, he thought. He runs his thumb along her lip again, the cut he made earlier in the early process of healing, before softly pushing it into her mouth. Daella's brow furrows slightly in confusion.
“Bībagon.” Daemon instructs. She does as she is told, sucking softly on his thumb. Daella adverts her eyes to the ground, too embarrassed by the action she is doing to look him in the eye. Daemon keeps his eyes trained on her. Her cheeks now a darker pink, her lips glimmering with spit as she sucks his thumb.
“Jurnegon rȳ nyke” He says, using his fingers to tilt her head back up towards him again. Daella opens her eyes, his thumb pressing down on her tongue with just enough pressure to make her gag softly around him. A smirk dances along his lips before pulling away from her.
“Pirtir ilagon.” He instructs once again looming over her. Daella takes a small inhale of breath before allowing her back to hit the bed, legs still dangling off the edge. Her heart pounds in her chest as she waits for his next move. She flinches gently as she feels his hand run along her left thigh, running the expensive lace along his fingers. “Hakogon ziry bē toliot se gundja.”
Daella does as she is told once again, gripping her nightgown at the thighs and starts to pull it up, once halfway up her thighs she leaned up, allowing herself to pull the fabric under her ass and bunching it around her waist. She was bare underneath, the handmaid's Rhaenyra had required to prepare her for this moment, laughed at her when she went to put her underclothes on, giggling as they stated she would not need them. She instinctively begins to cross her legs, wanting to shield herself from him, but his hand catches one of her legs in the moment, pushing it back and wider so she was on full display for him.
“Ñuha dōna riñītsos.” Daemon whispers as his rough hand caresses her thigh that was still gripped in his hand. His hand is removed momentarily to take off his shirt and his hand finds its way back between her legs. His hands ran up and down her thighs, taking his time deciding what he wanted to do next. Daella lies motionless on the bed starting at the ceiling. The maids this morning had whispered all sorts of horrors that can happen in the marriage bed in her ears when the Princess was just far enough away that she would not hear.
It appeared Daemon had made up his mind, Daella letting out a small gasp when she felt his adept fingers slipping between her folds, spreading a slickness that she had not known had gathered there while he pawed her. His large hand moves up to press down on her stomach, making sure that she remains steady. He spreads her folds before dipping one finger into her waiting hole, letting out a pleased grunt at how wet she is for him. Daella’s hands reach to clutch at his arm, letting out a gentle whimper at the feeling of him opening her up.
“Sȳz riña.” He says, leaning over her body, his face coming to meet hers. He is leaning in close, eyes burning into hers, glimmering with mischief. He’s so close that their noses bump together. Daella’s breath hitches as he pumps his finger in and out of her, her back arching slightly and her hips grinding every so softly to meet his hand. It felt good, there was no pain as the handmaids had suggested, only a pleasant pressure that she wanted and needed more off. She moves her head forward to try and kiss him but he pulls away, her lips landing on his jaw.
He inserts another finger. The stretch burns slightly, causing Daella to audibly gasp. Daemon pauses his movements looking at her, the small noise that came from her giving him second thoughts. He begins to slowly remove his soaked fingers, but Daella's chest is heaving as she grabs his arm tighter than before wanting him to stay. So he does, burying his head back into her neck as he curls his fingers, dragging them along apart within her that causes her free hand to lift into his hair and a moan to leave her lips.
She can feel his lips against her shoulder, his slightly parted mouth breathing on her. Her hand runs along his short hair, stroking the silky locks softly. Her other hand finally lets go of the arm that is currently thrusting into her, resting it on his waist, feeling the distorted skin that littered the left side of his body.
Daemon’s thumb moves to her clit, softly rubbing, giving her that extra stimulation that causes the coil in the pit of stomach to tighten. Daella lets out a loud whisper, the hand in his hair clenching the silver strains in her hand pulling gently. Her other hand shoots from his waist, accidentally gripping his still raw shoulder. Daemon hisses at the sension, fingers and thumb working faster, the pain causing him to work faster. The coil within her finally springs free, back arching and toes curling trying to help calm herself down from the sudden burst of pleasure coursing through her.
“Dae-Daem,” Daella squeaks out, unable to finish her words, breathing erratically as Daemon continues to finger her through her orgasm. As he toes uncurl, hand loosening on his locks and back falls back against the bed, coming down from the high, her eyes open and realise her fingers were digging into his raw shoulder. Her hand immediately pulls away from the red skin, eyes widening with worry.
“Sorry, I-” She begins, but Daemon shakes her off, rising to his feet, looming over her once again.
“Shh, I'm fine. Do not worry.” He says as he pulls at his trousers. Daella lifts herself onto her elbows looking at Daemon's hands fiddling with his button. She had been told of the male anatomy, but had yet to see for herself, and was lying if she said she wasn’t curious. Daemon smirked as she watched her eagerly await what was shielded beneath.
He finally undoes the buttons, letting the black cotton drop to the floor and stepping out of them, his cock, thick and hard, bobbing as he does. Daella watches taking it in. She eyes the precum glistening at the tip of his bulbous head, the change of colour from pink tip to this pale veiny shaft, the large balls that hang underneath, nestled between the silver curls of hair. Daemon laughs at her face. It’s not one of lust or fear that he is used to, but sheer fascination.
Daemon says as he kneels on the bed in front of her, Daella wiggling back to ensure he had enough room. She says up on her elbows as she watches him, his hand moving back to her cunt, fingers collecting some of the ever growing wettest on his fingers, before pumping his cock a couple of times with the slicked up hand. Daemon moves forward again, positioning his knees in a way that makes Daella spread her legs a little further, before dragging his cock through her slick pussy, bumping his tip against the bundle of nerves that has her heart pick up once again.
He finally slips himself into her, a guttural moan coming from the back of his throat at the feeling of her warm walls engulfing him. Daella meets his moans as he slowly pushes deeper, with a slight burn of the stretch adding to the pleasure, and eventually, he’s bottoming out inside of her, and Daella’s nails are digging into his back, mindfully keeping them low, afraid of touching his still raw shoulder again.
Daemon thrusts slowly, one of his hands gripping her waist so that the tips of his fingers are digging into her ass. Daella’s mouth is wide open, as is his, lips brushing against one another as the moans come out breathy. His pace is deliberate, wanting to be gentle, but also hit a spot inside her that he knows will never leave her the same, the tip of cock nudging her cervix, making her cry out his name.
“Dārilar- oh gods.” Daemon cuts himself off into a whisper, finally allowing his lips to envelope hers, his hands pulling her hips closer, needing to be deeper in her tight, wet, and warm hole. He feels her walls tighten impossibly around him, and he feels his balls start to tighten along with them. “That’s it, what a perfect little sweetling you are. Taking me so well.”
Daella’s walls flutter at the praise, just on the edge of the coil in her stomach letting go once again. Needing her husband closer, her legs wrap around his waist, the new angle it provides, sending her over the edge, lips locking onto Daemon’s as she does so, muffling the moans that leave her month. Daemon continues to roll his hips, fucking her though her second orgasm of the night, his own high following once her body relaxed, grunting softly has he spills his seed inside her.
Daemon gives Daella a small kiss on the cheek, before slipping his cock from her and lifting himself off the bed.
“You did well.” He says softly, looking down at her. He reaches down to pull her nightdress back down, covering her up once again. Once he has it pulled down, Daella sits up, shuffling herself back to the top of the bed, back against the below. She is still blissed out slightly, but her eyes widen as she notices the streaks of blood on Daemon's cock and in his silver public hair. He hand shooks to pull up her night dress, hand moving to cup her core. She looks down at the milky liquid that leaks from her that is mixed with blood that collected on her fingers.
“It’s normal.” Daemon says he lifts a fabric napkin from the table, wiping her blood and slick from his cock, the blood staining it in light pink. “That’s how they know.”
“Oh!” Daella whispers, noticing the little red stains on the bottom of the bed where she once lay. Daemon walks to the side of the bed, taking the napkin on the clean side and slips it between her legs, wiping gently collecting his seed and blood.
He throws the bloodied napkin on the floor at the bottom of the bed, before reaching for his trousers and pulling them on. He picks up his shirt before turning to Daella who was watching him wide eyed in bed, hand still between her legs.
“Maids will be in to retrieve the sheets in the morning. They will most likely wake you. Get some rest, bath first thing in the morning.” Daemon informs her as he pulls on his shirt. He is leaving her. She wants to beg him to stay, but she knows it is common in Westeros for husband and wife to have different sleeping chambers. She nods at him. He smiles, a tight lipped one, before turning to leave.

Alicent crowing aegon exposing her children to more risk than just letting rhaenyra became queen. Rhaenyra wanted that throne, there is no way she would have accepted those "terms", and alicent is 100% aware of this in the book and in the show as well. By crowning aegon she start a war and put her children DIRECTLY on the battlefield against people who were more experienced in war like daemon or ride dragon longer like rhaenyra and rhaenys amd consequently may control their dragon better. If you didn't want to consider a crash between two or more dragons, even if they were on a dragon against an army the danger is very high, look at rhaenys the conqueror or aemon the first son of jaehaerys, they were on dragon's back and yet both of them were killed by arrow. Not to mention that both in the book and in the show alicent spend years creating animosity with rhaenyra, If you TRULY believe that someone may hurt your children you do everything you can to maintain at least a civil relationship, and not constantly provoke them and then cry about how your children may be hurt by your stupidity. Because that what alicent has done in the book starting hating rhaenyra, pray viserys to name Aegon as heir and constantly share gossip to damage rhaenyra's image (with a 10 years old girl, meanwhile Alicent was a GROWN woman), and in the show the situation is not different. The truth is that alicent’s action were based on her own ambitious in the book and on her resentment to rhaenyra in the show, but NEVER in the interest of her children. In fact aegon never wanted to be king, he was forced by her and has to endure all the consequences while watching all of his family die
Ladies and gentlemen, here we have someone who quite literally didn't get a single thing about Fire and Blood.
See, anons like these are what makes my blood boil at the writers of HotD for making Rhaenyra appear like a saint which not only made most of the decisions she'll take from this moment onward out of (show) character (as far as character building and development goes) but also fucking boring.
I'm always one to listen to different points of view and interpretations of books as complicated as these, but something that has always bugged me is the way this fandom CANNOT DIGEST the type of tragedy that is just inevitable.
It was never about picking sides, it was never about sexism, it was always about kin torn apart by kin and their own flaws dragging them down. There was no way to ever avoid that and I cannot have a proper discussion about F&B with anyone who doesn't understand this first.
Moreover, just what do you think Alicent should've done? Shut up, be quiet, sit still and look pretty while Daemon's spies turned her children into bloody shreds? Allow them to be assassinated because of the threat they pose to Rhaenyra's claim? Does everything revolve around her? Is she some kind of Twilight Sparkle?
Let me tell you this: no woman would willingly step back and leave their children to their own devices when their own lives pose a threat to someone else's interests.
I have respect for Rhaenyra and her will to fight for what she believed was her birthright (although let's be honest, it was a feeling born out of nothing but the entitlement of a spoiled brat, it turned into a war of parents after one of each faction's children was killed) but I also have so much more respect for Alicent and her courage to bare teeth and claws and plan a coup to be allowed the upper hand and more possibilities of looking after her children if one of them is ruling. It's not "stupidity" it's awareness. And acting according to it.
It's true that Alicent has her own ambitions, but to say that they started growing in her when she was nothing but an 18 year old girl marrying a 30 year old man... Do you hear yourself? That's a girl getting graduated from high school. Oh shiver me timbers, we're scared of young adults here.
Everyone likes and loves and adores to talk about the way ALICENT was having beef with Rhaenyra as a 10 year old but nevermind Rhaenyra placing a bounty on two toddlers and one of them getting ripped apart because of it. Nevermind her refusing that bastard Corlys' advice to take Daeron as a hostage and demanding that he be killed instead. (Because this bitch was the #1 threat to her rule, but y'all aren't ready for that conversation)
She never "prayed" for Aegon to be named as heir, what she DID pray for was for him and Rhaenyra to be betrothed to one another. I hate Rhaegon personally, (no hate to any Rhaegon stan that reads this ♥️) but honestly this is the only marriage that could've MAYBE prevented the Dance. It started because there were two claimants to the throne. Just marry them to each other and the issue was solved. Both of them get crowned, no Dance, peace.
But noooooo, Viserys, the incompetent twat, as always had to act like an incompetent twat and be like "lol but they don't get along". IT WAS HIM WHO DOOMED HIS CHILDREN, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF HIS SONS AND DAUGHTERS. ALL. OF. THEM.
Everyone else acted as a consequence to the cluterfuck that the sick old man created. Namely, chaos. What else did you expect?

Yandere House Targaryen Headcanons (Platonic)
"Fire and Blood." — House Targaryen.
❝ 🐉 — lady l: I don't think I've ever written a headcanon this big! But I liked how it turned out and I hope you like it too. I made some changes to the ones that participate, in this case, it's Viserys I, Aemma, Rhaenyra, Daemon, Jacaerys, Lucerys, Joffrey, Aegon III, Viserys II, Rhaena, and Baela. I did this because it's easier to organize, but don't worry, the others will come later! Good reading and sorry for any mistakes. :)
❝tw: yandere themes, possessive and obsessive behavior, unhealthy platonic relationshipsa , child being taken from its parents, mention of torture, murder, war and blood.
❝🐉 pairing: yandere!platonic house targaryen x gender neutral!reader.

Tumblr media
The way you entered the life of the Targaryen family was very unconventional, but for them, it was the work of the Seven. You were brought at a young age into the arms of Queen Aemma, King Visesrys I and Princess Rhaenyra, only a year older than you. Your origin is unknown to all who are not part of the family. Some say you were the child of peasants who lived in the Vale and on a trip there, Viserys and Aemma met you and were enchanted by you, as did Rhaenyra and decided to take you with them, others say that Daemon killed your parents and when he was about to to kill you too, he was ''bewitched'' and decided to take you with him to King's Landing where the King and the Queen took you as their child, but it's not really important anymore because now you're with them and they don't mean you let go.
Aemma became especially attached to you as you grew older, she really came to love you like her own child and the way she always tries to keep by her side as long as possible made that very clear. The Queen just wants you happy and well, she sees you as her ''precious baby'' and she can't let anyone ruin that. Aemma goes to great lengths to see you smile, she gives you everything you need and more. She is a devoted mother and very attached to her children, Rhaenyra and you, but in a way, she is even more to you. You, like her, are very attached to the Queen as well, as she is what you know as a '’mother’' and anyone who tries to deny that you are not really her and the king's child will lose their tongue. It doesn't matter if you are completely different from them, if you have dark hair, dark eyes and dark skin, you are their child and no one can say otherwise. Those who dared to do so lost their tongues.
Viserys also spends as much time with you as possible, for as King he doesn't have as much free time, but what he does have, it's all spent with you. Viserys tries to be as rational as possible in this family dynamic that has developed around you, but he can't deny the situation they've gotten themselves into by stealing someone's child. He knows it's wrong and he feels guilty about it, but hearing you call him "daddy" makes those thoughts disappear in an instant. He's a good father actually, always taking care of you, pampering you and protecting you as much as he can from the evils of the world which made you an extremely naive person, but Viserys won't say he doesn't like that innocent side of you, because he does. It just forces him to think that you must be protected forever, that you will never stop being your daddy's little girl/boy. That you will always need him to protect you and ward off the monsters of your nightmare.
Rhaenyra is your older sister, protective and possessive of your attention. She, from her family, is one of the most possessive with you, she feels entitled to have you because you are sibilings and, therefore, she is the one who should have you whenever she wants and she always wants you with her. The Princess is the one who you are closest to in the family, only after Aemma, as she is always by your side even if you are with your parents she will still be around. She claims it's because she's taking care of you like a big sister would, but in reality it's because she doesn't want you to spend time with other people, even if those people are her parents. She loves to take you flying with Syrax and read to you, her favorite moments spent together are when you are hugging her tightly as you fly your dragon. Rhaenyra's possessiveness is often overwhelming as you will never truly be alone, she insisted on sharing a room with you and she is very insistent. She is suffocating, your alone moments will never really be alone as the princess will always be lurking around, watching over you like a good sister.
Daemon is, without a doubt, the worst of the Targaryens. At first, he didn't really like the idea of having you in his family, as you weren't one of them, not by blood at least. You, in his eyes, were nothing more than a stranger your brother clung to, but he would make him see the truth, after all, you didn't even possess valyrian traits so how dare you be called Targaryen? But to everyone's surprise and himself, Daemon also became so obsessed with you as soon as he laid eyes on you. Aemma and Viserys were worried at first about Daemon as they knew what he was like but they were relieved a little bit to see that he got along with you, in fact, more than well. Daemon is the most dangerous of all your family, he is possessive and violent, and he saw you as a property to be claimed by him, to be raised and loved by him alone. He didn't see Viserys capable of raising you, as his brother is weak in his vision and he was too protective of you, but Daemon wants you to be able to fight for yourself and he'll be more than happy to teach you how. He spends all the time that is available to him with you (and the time that is not his) talking about the future with you, about how he will be King and that you will stand by his side. Daemon's unpredictable and volatile nature should not be ignored as he is more than capable of taking you away with him and he will if the opportunity arises.
Family is what you all are and what you will be forever and ever. They're all obsessed with you to different degrees, but if there's one thing they all agree on, it's: protecting and loving you above everything and everyone else. Aemma and Viserys are the ones most aware of what you're being forced to deal with, at a such young age, and they know the delicate situation and what they did in taking you away from your original family, they know all of that, but they selfishness and the love they feel so much for their precious child speaks much louder. Rhaenyra has grown up to believe that you are indeed her sister/brother, she doesn't care if you don't look alike, you are sibilings and that's final, she loves you and is always by your side, you have become everything and the one person that she trust and she will be cursed if she lets you go. Daemon doesn't care about any of that, he just wants you with him and will be offended and furious if anyone questions his intentions with you. How dare they? You are his niece/nephew and he loves you like a father and only wants the best for you, and the best for you is to staty with him, he very often quarreling with Viserys over this. Daemon has no morals and would kill many, but he would never lift a finger at you. Never.
However, after Aemma's death, the situation became unbalanced and everything became even more fragile. You were in tears and Rhaenyra and Viserys looked to you for comfort, all three of you suffered the same: the loss of the woman you loved so much. Rhaenyra would cry in your arms and Viserys would often just hold you without saying anything, just letting the tears fall onto your shoulders. Both were coming after you for comfort, but you went to Daemon for that, as he was the only one who wasn't shaken by the Queen's death. To say that Daemon was happy to have you all to himself isn't enough to express what he felt, happiness and triumph perhaps? Triumph because you chose him over Rhaenyra and Viserys to be consoled, you chose him and that only adds to his illusion that you only trust and love him. Only him and Daemon will always keep that in his head.
When Viserys remarried and to Rhaenyra's friend, she didn't react well to this situation. Not only did she feel betrayed by her father and friend, she felt threatened, threatened with the promise of a male heir and being replaced. Rhaenyra implored you to keep as far away from Alicent and any children she might have as possible, for she couldn't handle the fear of losing you, especially after she saw that the new Queen seemed interested in you. Sure, you and Alicent have seen each other a few times, but Rhaenyra has always tried her best to keep you away from her friend because you are hers alone and after her betrayal, she couldn't imagine you leaving her for Alicent Hightower. No, she will not allow that to happen. Although Alicent has more ways to reach you, as the Queen, everyone knows that Viserys is very supportive of Rhaenyra and he will do what she asks. Rhaenyra knows you are safe from Alicent, but who knows for how long?
Daemon was exiled again and he hoped he could take you with him, but Viserys wouldn't allow it. He knew he could try to force you to go with him, after all, he had Caraxes, but after seeing that you didn't want to go, he ended up forgetting about it. For a while. Although he was busy fighting at the Stepstones, you never got out of his head, to the point of being a distraction, even after taking an arrow, you were all the prince could think about. Would you be safe? Do you miss him? Daemon is a danger to himself and having you in his head all the time just makes the situation worse. But on the one hand, you are his biggest motivation to live and win, he wants to see the pride on his face when he comes back victorious and feel your warm embrace that he so missed.
The Targaryen family dynamic never changed over the years and the affection for you only grew stronger and stronger, to the point where you became the only one capable of holding this family together. Viserys spent the most time with you over the years, you became the center of his attention as he grew older, the influence you have on the King is superior to any. Rhaenyra even after getting married and having children, was still stuck to your side, nothing will be able to separate the two of you and your support of her is what keeps her strong, her children would eventually develop their yandere tendencies for you like their mother. Although Daemon spent time in Essos with Laena and his daughters, he still sent letters daily and when he could, he would pay you a visit. Not even time will be able to take you away from them. From their obsession.
Jacaerys is extremely overprotective of you. He doesn't care if you're older and even better than he is at fighting, he still feels the need to protect you as you are part of his family and Jace is very protective of his family but even more so of you. The prince developed his obsession for you since he was a child, you have always been by his side and his mother, helping to take care of him and protect him and he is immensely grateful for that. Besides, you're like him, both different from the rest of your family physically, you didn't have valyrian traits but you were both Targaryen and that's all that matters at the end. He is very intelligent and somewhat manipulative and he won't mind having to manipulate you to get your attention and approval. Jace wants to impress you, he wants you to feel nothing but pride in him and when you praise him he melts. He just loves you so much, like the rest of his family.
Lucerys, of his brothers, is the most attached to you. He is possessive of your attention and will complain if anyone else has it, as he considers himself the most deserving of it. Luke is an intelligent and adorable boy by nature. He doesn't quite understand these twisted feelings he and his family feel for you, but he knows that you are precious and should be protected and adored, as his mother told him so. Lucerys is always seen around you, often holding your hand as he snuggles up to you, demonstrating to everyone that you belong to him, that you belong to them.
Joffrey, Aegon III and Viserys II for them being very young, they don't understand what's going on, they don't understand why their family is so involved with you, why they are so protective and obsessive about you. None of them understand what's going on, except what their parents tell them: you are their one priority. As the youngest in the family, they are, along with Lucerys, the most demanding of his attention. Little princes invite you to play and be a part of their pranks, as they know they amuse you. They're naive, the only thing they understand is how much they love you like the rest of the Targaryens did and there's nothing wrong with loving, right?
Rhaena and Baela didn't spend much time with you, having grown up in Essos, they lived most of the time with their mother and father, but things changed after Laena's death. You all met at her funeral, and you went to try to comfort the princesses. Baela and Rhaena had already heard of you, as Daemon always mentioned you when the opportunity arose, so they knew almost everything about your life and the love Daemon had for you, they just didn't expect to be obsessed with you either. They are quite calm in their obsession with you in reality, and they accept as long as you can spend time with them in an acceptable and dignified way, you will never see them complaining about not being able to spend enough time with you. But make no mistake, Rhaena and Baela are possessive like their father and they won't tolerate being left out by anyone.
The Targaryens are said to be closer to the gods than to men, but to them, you are the goddess/god they so adore and are madly obsessed with. You have so much power over them that people say they are your tamed dragons. This family is full of problems and disputes, but they will all be united when it comes to you. Unfortunately, the entire responsibility of a kingdom has fallen on your shoulders and your family's overwhelming possessiveness only makes the burden more unbearable to bear. Be wise in your future choices, (Y/N), for one wrong step could start a war, a war for you.

Ironically i thought F&B was the worst thing Grrm has ever written, however watching hotd has made me appreciate F&B alot despite how terrible it's compared to other Grrm's good stories. it's still better than whatever Condal came with. The fact that book!Alicent& Rhaenyra despite being historical figures have much more agency than show!Alicent& Rhaenyra who are pov characters is so funny to me.
I do like F&B, but I like it for the faux history aspect of it, not the story. The story is nothing special. There are some cool bits, and I think most of the characters have the potential to be really fascinating, but they are bare bones at best.
Ultimately though, the characters in the F&B do generally act in a consistent way, and if you work backwards from their actions, you can arrive at a characterization. I feel like the show has done this with Aegon and Aemond for the most part, and even with Daemon, with a few hiccups along the way. But with Alicent and Rhaenyra they did the opposite and it shows. They started with the characters they wanted to portray, and then went about forcing these new characters to perform book events, when those events were not written for a pair of estranged ex-friends, they were written for a stepmother and stepdaughter whose relationship has always been contentious at best. The actions that Alicent and Rhaenyra take in the book are not the actions that people love each other would take. If George had written them as close friends from the start the Dance would have played out very differently!
But that's not the story he wrote, and adapting actions written for people actively antagonistic towards each other to characters who are meant to love each other forces the showrunners into certain corners. Making Otto and Daemon the masterminds orchestrating the violence (remember, in the book Otto never suggested murdering Rhaenyra and her children, and Daemon was the one who urged caution when Rhaenys wanted to go straight to war), inventing a prophesy and deathbed misunderstanding which fundamentally alter the nature of the conflict, these things are done to soften the impact of the canonical actions of these women, but it also absolutely takes away from their agency. You get a really odd situation where the showrunners simultaneously want us to believe that the women should be in charge because the men ruin everything, but the women themselves are both unable to take direct action for fear of harming each other, but also unable to retreat, because the story demands they come to a certain end. Rhaenyra cannot accept the peace terms Alicent sends, or any future peace terms she proposes, and for all that they might come into conflict, Alicent cannot actually join team black and betray her entire family, the children she spent her whole young adulthood keeping alive. Ryan Condal has said that even after Luke's death he still believes there is hope of reconciliation but we know that fundamentally that can only be true in theory because the ending is a forgone conclusion.
There are people who say that Alicent is fundamentally caught between duty and desire, and that is why her character is inconsistent, but I cannot help but think that the reason why her actions are inconsistent is because half of them were written for another character entirely.

A MILD GLIMPSE AT LAENOR AND RHAENYRA.
I do find their dynamic in episode 6 and 7 very interesting, but the first time I watched the show, I did not get what was being communicated between them. Her words to him felt wrong and different with every conversation, and I didn't know why I didn't believe it when the events of episode 7 happened, but I think I do now.
Tumblr media
A few things, Laenor does do his duty. They both hold up their end of the bargain it's just unwillingly on his end by the end.
From the start, Laenor is mourning Joffrey in their marriage. That's how it happens. Shortly after, based on age, Jace is conceived with Harwin.
A lot of assumptions seem to be that Laenor and Rhaenyra weren't trying, but I don't think that's it. It seems more likely that they did, and Rhaenyra went after Ser Harwin either way. Because Laenor is being forced to do his duty, I can't imagine him disregarding it. Especially if the deleted scenes are being taken into consideration, but another thing is that Harwin isn't some politically correct decision.
People act as though in the first year of their marriage Rhaenyra needed to be pregnant, but that's not true. It just happened, and I don't see the pregnancy carrying out without some possibility of Jace being Laenor’s, with all eyes on them. The issue was never Laenor not doing his duty. It was that there was no joy in it. Rhaenyra found that with Ser Harwin. That's actual show dialogue.
Laenor in the show doesn't go to Driftmark. In no conversation does it seem as though he has that break from court life. The strength of being a Velayron is taken from him with no noble house Velayron men at the Keep or him being able to go back and prepare himself for his role as heir. This is a world building issue. But also isolated him to the Red Keep unwillingly, it seems.
Tumblr media
Then we consider that he cares for Rhaenyra. Ten years later, and he's telling her, "Let's go back, stop making the show of Alicent commands, this is dangerous you're in pain." She disregards him, which is the first of many times we see.
After he's called a cuckold by Alicent, Rhaenyra makes sure he's aware of her dislike of the name Joffrey or him choosing it. I think that scene perfectly analyses their dynamic.
Tumblr media
Rhaenyra doesn't like it, Laenor defends it, and she disregards it with something else that's irrelevant in that context. He's playing his role, naming their child, being there at the birth like a happy father would be waiting to meet him, walking with his wife to the king, publicly but quietly doting on her health and taking everything said against him because that is his son but that's not enough for her because in this moment she's upset with him for nsming Joffrey and Alicent.
We see this play out with the "our sons," "are they insinuations" dialogue, and reinforced.
Laenor wants to go to the Stepstones, unaware of the fighting taking place. She says rumours follow their sons, and he asks if they are rumours. This shows his disconnect from the situation at hand. Even a small joke, she discredits from him rightfully but is still isolating for him from their reality. Then, the worst lines from Rhaenyra come out. And I don't know why these are often ignored, but they're based on the characterization of her in her adult years of wanting everything at the cost of nothing because of her position.
She blames Laenor for not being there for them, uses his sexuality and the agreement they had to do so and then makes him stay at her side when he doesn't want to because she thinks it's good for appearances not taking anything he's saying into consideration.
Then we find out that Laenor writes to Laena all the time, it seems because Daemon doesn't want to go back, and Rhaenyra doesn't let Laenor leave. Laenor being restless has been his way, but she kept him at her side. And then Laena dies, and he's crushed.
This is after Rhaenyra finally decides that they can leave for Dragonstone, which is away from all the questions of court, tells him he can bring Quarl and doesn't let him make the decision. We see how upset he is before she tells him of that. Laenor seems to find out about losing Laena on Dragonstone.
Tumblr media
Laena is gone, and he's reeling from her loss. He's in the water trying to be near her, grieving. He's getting drunk and can't perform his role, being accosted by Corlys (I know it's Quarl but context clues) for it and is in no position to do anything. He's lost the one person who would be happy for him with this change, the person who he keeps in contact with ten years later. He's distraught.
Tumblr media
And Rhaenyra’s conclusion, although based on the fact that she's lost Ser Harwin, is to say he'll be useless to her now.
She sleeps with Daemon, which I won't get into because it doesn't matter right now, but two conversations happen. We see Laenor get drunk, and in Quarl's attempt to go fix his spirits, be completely unaware of the whole Driftmark fight, Rhaenyra sleeping with Daemon or what has occurred with Vhagar and Aemond.
Laenors words to her are I should've been there. I didn't protect Laena, I did not protect you, and there is no comfort. She tells him to sit. They have this conversation, which is his apologies while grieving for his failing and her saying he's a good man with a good heart.
The condition of Laenor in this scene is heartbreaking because of what happens next. He's lost Laena. He's trying to do right by his family, recommiting himself to them, and she suggests he fake kill himself and escape with Quarl. He's confronting their past mistake of thinking that love and marriage are mutually exclusive and knowing his lover is being sent away and that Harwin is dead dedicates himself to Rhaenyra and their boys, wanting to be a family.
But because of Daemon, that's a long gone possibility for her. It's not for him. We don't get to see her, or Daemon or Quarl suggest Laenor leaving, but based on their relationship in the last episodes, he'd simply agree if she said it, reluctantly so.

Rhaenyra v Cersei: Battle of the Bastards
Lo' and behold, looks like I'm not done with bastardposting after all. For this piece, I would like to compare and contrast the two main situations that the general public has been exposed as far as the issue of illegitimate children is concerned within the ASOIAF-verse: Rhaenyra v Cersei.
The parallels are obvious. Rhaenyra has three bastard children, Cersei has three bastard children. Let's see how they handle it.
Rules
According to Westerosi law, bastards can't inherit. It doesn't matter if they're the husband's or the wife's, the King's or the Queen's. Children born out of wedlock to any spouse are explicitly excluded from the line of succession.
Only the King can legitimise bastards via a royal decree. Enough of these "Roose legitimized Ramsay" lies. It's patently untrue. Tommen legitimized Ramsay.
In order to be legitimised, the children in question first have to be declared bastards. You cannot legitimize trueborn children. You cannot secretly legitimise bastards. "Viserys claimed Rhaenyra's children were trueborn, ergo he implicitly legitimised them." No, he didn't. He never admitted they were bastards.
Why does this matter? Because it is unclear where legitimised bastards fall in the line of succession. If they maintain their place by birth order or if they are relegated to the back of the line, behind any and all other trueborn claimants.
There are no genetic tests available in Westeros. People have to prove adultery or rely on common sense.
1. Cersei has a distinct advantage over Rhaenyra, since her children look like her. She can very easily argue that they favour her, as their mother, and this is exactly what everyone believes for years, including Robert. Since Jaime is the male version of Cersei, Joffrey, Tommen and Myrcella can look like no else. Catelyn's kids look like Catelyn and no one bats an eye. Only Arya and (to Catelyn's irritation) Jon look like Ned. However, Ned doesn't ever doubt his children are not his.
Rhaenyra's kids look nothing like Rhaenyra and nothing like Laenor. They, instead, share distinct physical traits with her sworn shield, a man seen very often in her presence. People are not idiots. There is no plausible deniability here. You can bet your bottom dollar that if Cersei's kids were, say, Dornish-looking, people would be calling her out for her bullshit.
There is a way you can reasonably get away with passing over your bastards as someone else's, but that is 100% not Rhaenyra's way. This is why Cersei is chilling in the Red Keep, living her best bad bitch life, while Rhaenyra is running away to Dragonstone when the rumours are nipping at her heels. They are not the same. There are no paternity rumours to quell Cersei's girlboss vibes. She is sly enough that even Robert is convinced he inseminated her (gross).
2. I'm not going to get into the intricacies of Ned Stark's Scooby-Doo, Hercule Poirot mystery plot of unraveling Cersei's misdeeds. Ned has his own beef with the Lannisters and is convinced they are up to no good. He investigates them like the meddling kid he is and comes away with a suspicion. He knows nothing (heh) for certain until Cersei verbally confirms it for him. yOuR bRoThEr Or YoUr lOvEr. boo!
Had Ned not been on the Lannister trail from the very beginning, a fair assumption can be made that he never even would have suspected anything untoward. He never questions the children's paternity when they visit in Winterfell.
Again, this is distinctly different from Rhaenyra's situation. No one believes Cersei's children are bastards,* whereas no one believes Rhaenyra's children are trueborn. Pretending otherwise is very, very strange.
*at the beginning of AGOT, at least
3. Robert claimed Joffrey all his life and specifically named him his son and heir in his will, under dictation, to Ned. In turn, Ned deliberately changed Robert's words and wrote them down as "my rightful heir".
This is a parallel to show!Alicent, who misunderstands Viserys' dying words and him naming his son Aegon as heir. If Alicent didn't have the right to muddle the King's meaning, then neither did Ned. However, no one in their right minds is arguing that Ned is a traitor to the Crown. I wonder why is that?
I have already pointed out the circular logic in arguing that Robert only said that because he didn't know the children weren't his.
4. So what does this mean? Can anyone just accuse anyone they don't like of being a bastard and, thus, endanger that person's entire social status?
No, of course not. But, unfortunately for Cersei, Ned and Stannis aren't just some randos in a tavern. Ned is the Hand of the King. Stannis is Lord of Dragonstone and on the Small Council. These two men have a stalwart reputation and are renowned for their obsession with justice, duty and, in Ned's case, honour.
If Ned Stark stands in front of the Iron Throne and proclaims Joffrey a bastard, risks his daughters' lives and literally ends up losing his head as a result of this,
if Stannis Baratheon sends letters throughout the realm claiming Cersei's children are illegitimate,
the people of Westeros are going to pay attention.
These two very important men using their public platform to denounce Joffrey and starting wars over this? Say what you will about them, but they are not oathbreakers and they are not liars. No, they don't come with DNA tests, but for a lot of Westerosi, this is enough. They believe it.
Is this foolproof? No, of course not! But it convinces enough people that they are willing to band together to support rival claimants to the throne, thus igniting the War of the Five Kings. Speaking of political headaches, this is a huge one!
That being said, while Cersei is playing in the Champions League, Rhaenyra is fighting for her life in the relegation zone. She doesn't even need a Ned or a Stannis to cast doubt on her because no one believes her kids are not bastards.
Moreover, Vaemond obviously parallels Ned in this story. He tells the truth in open court and loses his head for it. In the show, Daemon and Viserys play the same role as Joffrey. In the texts, Rhaenyra and Daemon are stand-ins for Joffrey. This is not meant to be a triumphant moment of girlbossery. This is an abuse of power and an act of terror.
All in all, I'm sorry to say, but Cersei wins this hands down. She is savvy enough in her choice of sperm donor and can maintain plausible deniability without looking like a goddamn clown and the entire circus to boot. She holds the capital and has access to all the emblems of state after Robert dies. In contrast, Rhaenyra is floundering across the Blackwater Bay, yelling at the dragon gargoyles that her children are trueborn.
Why is this issue important in the story?
a). No one has a problem with Jace being King.
If people had a problem with Joffrey being King, enough to go to war over it, it would be narratively inconsistent for them to just accept an obvious bastard as King. It would contradict the internal logic of the fictional world we're talking about. That's quite some level of suspension of disbelief just because some fans like Jace. This isn't about him being amiable or a good kid.
b). They're still Rhaenyra's sons / it's a Targaryen internal matter and concerns no one else / the concept of Jace being King doesn't personally affect anyone else, so why does anyone care?
Because it's the freaking law! The name of the crime Rhaenyra commits is high treason! Punishable by exile or death!
No, the crime is not adultery, it's not having bastard children, it's specifically putting said bastard children in line to the throne. In that, Rhaenyra is as guilty as Cersei is.
It absolutely does affect others, since Rhaenyra actively steals the inheritance of House Velaryon for Luke. How is that not a crime? I would even go so far as to say that Laenor and Corlys are complicit in it and should be punished as well.
Contrary to bafflingly-popular erroneous beliefs, the monarch can't just do whatever they want. Even in absolutist monarchies, the sovereign serves the vital social role of upholding the law and the rights of their subjects. Rhaenyra breaks said law by committing theft, murder, high treason and destabilizing the entire system of inheritance.
c) Rhaenyra breaks the social contract
Jock Locke argues for the "right of revolution" in the Second Treatise of Government. He writes that when the government acts against the interests of its citizens, then said citizens gain the right to overthrow it and replace it with an authority that will protect their interests.
I am not trying to impose 'progressive' understandings of the political process anachronistically, in a medieval fantasy; my thesis-statement is that we have already seen this concept at play within the world of ASOIAF: the Faith Militant uprising against Aenys I and Maegor due to their practices of incest and polygamy and Robert's Rebellion, caused by Rhaegar kidnapping a noble lady and Aerys II carrying out executions without due process. The people of Westeros are not unfamiliar with opposing monarchs who don't abide by the law.
The question of Rhaenyra having bastards is framed in a lot of commentary through the lens of her right as a woman to have extra-marital sex and not be demonised for it and to find fulfilling love within the constraints imposed on her by her station. While debating the personal individual freedom of women in a patriarchal feudal society is not to be side-lined, her fundamental fault is that she is demanding rights and exemptions for herself, while the rest of the country have to abide by an entirely different set of rules.
The laws of inheritance, as unjust as they may appear to our modern eyes, are in place to prevent crises of succession, violent conflicts or even large-scale wars from starting every time someone's estates are passed on. Illegitimate children suddenly gaining access to inheritances threatens the political and economical calculations that predicate many Westerosi marriages.
Imagine paying a handsome dowry for your daughter, just so her husband's bastard birthed by some high-born mistress to make use of his maternal family's resources and cheat your legitimate grandchildren out of theirs.
Imagine being married to some lord and now his random bastards threaten the inheritance of your lawful children. Because, hey, the Queen acts like this is fine! This is Catelyn Stark's worst nightmare.
You think you can just sue your husband? What a silly notion. You think you can sue the bastard claimants after your husband is dead? Tough luck, your liege lord may rule in their favour by taking a leaf out of Queen Rhaenyra's book. You think you can appeal to Queen Rhaenyra? How are you going to travel all the way to King's Landing? Good luck with that, maybe you're built different and don't die during this dangerous and expensive journey.
Is this fair for the illegitimate children? Hell no, but Rhaenyra and Viserys are not planning on reforming family law in any meaningful way, because they know what a hassle it would be and how much opposition it would meet!
It reeks of rights for me, but not for thee and I, for the life of me, don't understand the stronghold she has on the liberated feminist brigade.
and finally
d). The Green Coup is not dependent on the legitimacy of Rhaenyra's children.
No. But her committing high treason earns her an automatic disqualification from her right to rule, rendering her claim null and void.

"Alicent resents Rhaenyra having the freedom that she never did." This is a pretty common hotd take which is complicated by the fact that Rhaenyra doesn't actually really have that much more freedom (she also has to marry and have children, and also ends up in an abusive marriage). So I'm wondering what if Alicent knows that? What if her resentment isn't that Rhaenyra never has to pay the price for her transgressions/freedoms, but that Alicent and her family are the ones who pay for Rhaenyra's freedom. When Rhaenyra goes out with Daemon, putting her reputation and marriage prospects in jeopardy, it's Otto who loses his job (after he saves her from likely having to marry Daemon). When Rhaenyra has obvious bastards that will create multiple succession crisis's, it's Aemond who loses an eye and is threatened with torture, and Vaemond who gets murdered. Alicent spends most of the series under the assumption that if Rhaenyra has to choose between giving up being queen and murdering her half brothers she'll choose the latter, gaining her freedom by harming Alicent. In this context her resentment makes a lot of sense and is more than just spite and jealousy (though I'm not saying those aren't present).
This also has me thinking what if Alicent is the more self aware one of the two of them? I think she knows how shit her situation is in a way that Rhaenyra might not until episode 10 when Daemon chokes her. Alicent at least by episode 9 recognizes her father for what he is and in her own small way able to fight for what she wants (Rhaenyra's survival and peace). She at least knows she's in a prison and is able to build a window in it, as Rhaenys condescendingly described. Rhaenyra on the other hand might truly believe that she's the exception to all the sexism in Westeros. That her name, her dragon and her father mean that she isn't like all the other girls. And for a while that's true. She gets to do things that no other woman in Westeros could get away with. She either doesn't see the cost to Alicent and Criston and Otto and Aemond and Vaemond, or she see their fates as their own faults. That all collapses in episode ten when she sees how completely alone she is. The men who are supposed to be obeying her seem more inclined to listen to Daemon and Daemon will not place her needs above his own or at least won't without first assaulting her.
This then allows for an interesting thesis of the show if it was intentional. We're given two women who have very different responses to patriarchy, but neither approach can save them. Obedience won't save them, promiscuity won't save them, a dragon won't save them, the right husband won't save them, the right father won't save them. The only thing that could have maybe saved them is solidarity, something that we see Alicent give up on in episode 5 (whether Rhaenyra has ever considered using her position or privilege to help another woman is an open question).
Obviously there's no definitive proof of this idea, but I find it interesting and that it adds depth to the tension and bitterness between Rhaenyra and Alicent.

King's Landing
The plan was to leave King's Landing the next day, but with the King's request, Ariella needed to talk to Rhaenyra early in the morning, before they left.
When morning came, she woke up a little early and got ready with the help of her maid, then hurriedly walked to Rhaenyra's chambers. When she was allowed to enter, she saw one of her sister's maids with an expression of anguish on her face.
She understood what was happening when Rhaenyra dismissed the maids in a tearful voice. She approached her sister at the window and could see the tears streaming silently down her ethereal face.
Before she could say anything, Rhaenyra held her hand tightly and breathed in heavily.
"I love my children more than anything, I can't bear to see them being victims of accusations like the ones that happened yesterday." she began, frowning in sadness. "My children are my heirs, I have fulfilled my duties, I have produced heirs to the throne..."
"I know, Rhaenyra." Ariella squeezed her hand a little.
"Laenor and I tried..."
"I know, I know all this." she saw her sister turn to face her.
"No matter what I do, it's never enough for these people." Rhaenyra sighed.
"It's enough for our father, you know that. He loves your boys, he recognizes Jacaerys as your heir." she tried to calm her older sister.
Rhaenyra was silent and the tears gradually stopped flowing, she wiped them away gracefully and completely turned her body towards her younger sister.
"Are your belongings ready yet? We're leaving in a few hours."
Ariella swallowed and let go of her hand, walking towards the fireplace. Rhaenyra frowned at her sister's sudden actions.
"Rhaenyra, I cannot leave King's Landing."
,
"What? What are you talking about?"
"I need to discuss a delicate matter with you now. And you need to stay calm and support me, like I have supported you all these years." Ariella took a deep breath.
"I'm getting scared, I admit. What is this about?" Rhaenyra remained by the window as she stared at her sister.
"I'm going to marry Aemond, apparently. Our father desires this and I cannot oppose it.”
She let out her breath and started looking at the fireplace, afraid of Rhaenyra's response. A few minutes passed before Rhaenyra responded.
"You won't do that."
"It is the king's wish, Rhaenyra. I can't oppose what he wants."
"This kid insults my kids every chance he gets. You know what he thinks about bastardy, he's already made that clear in front of everyone." Rhaenyra continued.
"You're making it sound like I'm the one who asked for his hand. I had no choice in this, you should know by now, you also got married against your will."
"They are different situations, you don't need to get married, you are not an heir."
Ariella rolled her eyes and looked at her sister.
"Thank you for reminding me of my position at court, Rhaenyra, I was already forgetting."
"Do you know what will happen? This wedding will make you stay in King's Landing, close to Alicent and the snake pit she turned this place into. Our father is giving her what she wants without even realizing it." Rhaenyra continued.
"I very much doubt that Alicent or the people at court would want to see Aemond married to a bastard."
"What is the purpose of this union, then? You can’t even give him children.”
Ariella felt the blood drain from her body and her stomach bubble. She stared at Rhaenyra in silence, without blinking. She swallowed hard as she saw Rhaenyra's expression change.
"I was stressed by this conversation, I didn't mean to-"
"I will remain in King's Landing. Have a safe trip back.”
She turned and left her sister's chambers.
-----------------------------
Ariella saw when Rhaenyra's family carriage and dragons left, she felt her heart sink and sighed.
The day passed quickly and dinner time approached. She was going to have dinner in her room but was informed that the King required the presence of the entire family at the table. Sighing she got ready and walked unwillingly to the dining room.
When she entered, she saw that everyone was already there. The queen and king were sitting in the center of the table, Otto sitting on Alicent's right, his half-brothers sitting facing them. There were empty chairs in several places at the table, she bowed to the king and walked to the chair next to Helaena, but her father stopped her.
"No, darling, sit here." he nodded to the empty chair to his left.
She saw Alicent's expression darken a little, but then return to normal. She walked over and gave her father a peck on the cheek before sitting down.
Viserys got up from his chair with Alicent's help and picked up the wine glass, followed by the others.
"A part of our family has returned to our ancestral home, but I am still happy to be able to reunite with everyone again. Tonight, I have an announcement that gladdens my heart." he paused to breathe loudly. "Two of my children are married to each other, as is the tradition of our house, and once again that tradition will come true, once again my children are getting married. I raise my glass to the future union of Aemond and Ariella, my dear children."
She saw everyone at the table have different reactions at the same time. Alicent's face showed discontent, but she soon smiled tenderly, Otto remained silent and looked a little surprised at the king, Helaena clapped her hands and Aegon raised his eyebrows, laughing a little. She turned her face to look at Aemond and he looked genuinely surprised, but not unpleasantly surprised.
"Details about this union will be discussed behind closed doors, and with discretion. My word is the last and must not be challenged." the king spoke again, this time in a serious voice.
The rest of the dinner was silent and soon ended. Ariella returned to her chambers but was informed that the queen requested her presence. She rolled her eyes at that, if Alicent wanted to talk to her, why didn't she talk during dinner? Now she would have to walk to the other side of the Keep.
The servant informed her that the queen was waiting for her in the library, she raised her eyebrow but thanked the young girl who soon left.
Upon entering the library, she was surprised to see Aemond present in the room, who smiled when she saw her approaching.
"Your Grace." she bowed a little.
Alicent approached her and hugged her tightly, with a smile on her face.
"My dear, who would have thought. My friend and stepdaughter will become my son's wife."
Ariella forced a smile and looked away.
"It is truly a surprise, your grace."
"You're the right choice, I'm sure. Someone honorable and intelligent, yes, yes, it's perfect." she continued smiling as she caressed Ariella's arms. "I think your father has already spoken to you about the issue of heirs, right?"
"Indeed, your majesty."
Alicent sighed in relief.
"Great, I'll let you and Aemond talk, the future bride and groom should get to know each other." she said goodbye and left, slamming the door behind her.
Aemond was sitting in one of the golden lounge chairs near a large fireplace. Ariella sat opposite him, on the other lounge chair, which was separated by a small coffee table.
She started to look at Aemond, waiting for him to say something.
"So you already knew." he began.
"In fact, I was informed last night."
"A privilege I didn't have." he continued.
She looked down at her hands and began to play with the fabric of her dress skirt.
"Are you pleased that they chose me to be your husband?" Aemond began again.
"Are you? Pleased that I was chosen to be your wife?"
"I asked the question first." he snapped.
"I'm not unhappy, if that's what you want to know."
"I'm satisfied. Very satisfied." he said, a tiny smile forming. "I didn't want to get married, but I'm happy that will be with you."
"You know about my condition, right? I can't give you children." she glared at him.
"Yes, I'm aware of that."
"And then?"
"I don't need heirs, they won't have anything to inherit anyway."
Ariella threw her head back and laughed, covering her mouth.
"What? Isn't that true?" Aemond said with humor in his voice.
"I assume so, my prince."
-------------------------
Dragonstone
Rhaenyra's family dinner was ruined the moment she told them about Ariella's upcoming marriage. She saw her sons stiffen and her stepdaughters look at each other in surprise. Everyone seemed calm, despite being surprised and disgusted by the news, except Daemon. Rhaenyra ordered everyone out of the banquet hall as he threw away his own cup of wine. Everyone obeyed, except Jacaerys and Lucerys.
"Viserys must not be thinking well! Marry his own daughter to that... that filthy one-eyed man." Daemon shouted.
Like ducklings following their mother, Jacaerys and Lucerys nodded, agreeing with their stepfather's speech.
"The wedding is already certain to happen, we can't do anything." Rhaenyra sighed.
Daemon threw a chair away and ran his hands through his hair nervously.
"My niece will not marry someone so dishonorable. Aemond stole Vhagar from Rhaena, I never forgot that." he continued talking.
"He was going to kill me! If Luke hadn't stopped him, Aemond would have killed me with a stone that night." Jacaerys chimed in.
"We all have complaints about Aemond, but that won't change what happens. They're getting married." Rhaenyra stood up from her chair and began twirling the rings on her fingers.
"Why didn't you inform us about this wedding while we were still in King's Landing? I would have remained there or I would have brought Ariella with me, even if it was by force." Daemon said, looking at her.
"That would be reckless, it would only make her angry with you and you would worsen your reputation, my love." she tried to calm him down.
"This is unfair, mother." Lucerys whimpered.
She smiled tenderly at him, she knew how much her boys loved their aunt and knowing that she would marry someone who caused them so much harm hurt them.
"Go to bed, both of you, we're all tired from the trip." she said and this time they obeyed, leaving the room with their heads down.
She sighed when she saw Daemon near the fireplace, staring at Dark Sister, his sword, which was hanging above the fireplace.
"I could kill him." he began.
"Daemon..."
"We cannot allow this to happen." he continued.
"I already said, it's going to happen and that's it."
"Aemond has an aversion to bastards, you see the things he accuses your children of, he can do whatever he wants with her. He will be her husband and no one will be able to dispute anything he does to her." he sighed tiredly.
"My father will protect her, Aemond wouldn't have the courage-"
"A boy capable of killing for a dragon is capable of anything, Rhaenyra. When Ariella arrived in King's Landing I was in exile, I didn't live with her fully until you and I were married. But years have passed with her here in Dragonstone, I have taught her almost everything I know, everything Viserys did not. I raised her and she became a big sister to Rhaena." He looked away, his face contorted into a sad expression. "She physically resembles my daughters. I couldn't see Baela and Rhaena married to someone dishonored like that."
Rhaenyra approached him and ran her hands over his face.
"Everything is going to be okay, I promise you." she said and he buried his face in her neck.

Do you think, based on what we've seen in the trailer and in the promos, that team green will be split in two different factions? Aegon and Aemond the first one, and Alicent, Otto (and maybe Criston) the second one? I would hate it, but considering all the Rha*enicent content the showrunners are endlessly and annoyingly pushing, it could be the case. And if Alicent really continues with Rhaenyra simping this season, while being disappointed and horrified with her sons, that would be a character assassination. It's already crazy that she can have some fondness for Rhaenyra after Driftmark, but after Storm's End and Blood & Cheese it would just be insane. At least let Aegon and Aemond be united because if they ruin not only Alicent's relationship with them but also their relationship with each other, it would be the end for TG.
Oh, that's interesting. It's worth saying right away that at the moment we don't know anything for sure, people have a lot of different versions and predictions about the second season, but if you want to know what I THINK will happen - yes, I guess they will split the green team.
In general, it doesn't make any sense from the point of view of adapting the original story and even just common sense. Nevertheless, it was clear from the first season that the screenwriters didn't give a fuck about both of these points. "The greens were united in the book." The series has already moved away from the canon as much as possible. "There's no point in Alicent protecting Rhaenyra during the war." Well, she had already forgiven her for the fact that her son had maimed Aemond and had been very nice to her over dinner in the first season.
By the way, all the words of the screenwriters that "this is a story of two women who want peace, while men want war", and this strange promo with Olivia and Emma also hint at what the message of the series will be.
Personally, I'm interested in Aegon, Aemond and their relationship, so if they unite against the background of what's happening, there will be more advantages for me in this situation. However, the screenwriters can make them enemies, although this is also a completely crazy idea and then I will just ignore such a scenario decision. My biggest fear so far is that they will make Aemond responsible for Aegon's burns, even though he'd never do anything like that.
And I'm also worried that on-screen conflicts between the greens will lead to conflicts between fans. TG fandom is so small, I'd like it to be united.

arms length part two | dark!d. targaryen
Description: Daemon saves you from death - but reveals something sinister. Pairing: daemon targaryen/reader and aemond targaryen/reader Warning: Mature 18+ (dark, dub-con, stockholm syndrome, grooming, gaslighting, voyeurism, choking.) part one
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"We won't be needing this," he stated - cutting swiftly through your gown. He was staring at your body with the intensity of a thousand stars - you could've sworn that it was love - but it was not. "Why are you doing this?" you whisper - covering your breasts.
He does not acknowledge the use of your tongue - he ignores you. He presses a kiss to your jaw - inhaling the scent of your jasmine perfume. A prisoner has never lived more lavishly than you. "Riñītsos," he answered - hands trailing down to pull yours away.
"How can you stomach sleeping beside Rhaenyra, while these thoughts run through your head?" you interrogated - hoping that he'd see clarity in the situation. There was little hope that he still loved his wife - his tastes are only limited to young maidens, and Rhaenyra was far from that.
"Tis what you want," he replied matter-of-factly, hands rubbing circles on your taut teats - bouncing and hardening at his touch. "- you tried to seduce me when you were much younger. I was surprised to return to my chambers to see a little maiden - naked as the day she was born." he teased, continuing to rub circles.
A slight moan escapes your mouth.
He wasn't entirely wrong - but the situation has changed. It was different now - your heart yearned for Aemond.
"I was a child," you gritted through your teeth - fighting against another round of moans. "You were a woman-grown to me," he chuckled, his hand trails up to your neck - squeezing it - taking away your breath and leaving it in his control.
"If you do not desire it - then deny me," he teased once more, his other hand trails down to your cunt - rubbing it playfully.
Your voice is lodged in your throat.
A small chuckle escapes his mouth.
"Precisely," he mumbled, pulling your face closer and enveloping your lips with his. He tasted like ale and wine - he smelled like smoke. "It wouldn't hurt to understand my riñītsos that you and Helaena's safety rely on me." he asserted, grip tightening around your throat.
"Do you understand?" he repeated, tightening his grip again - not leaving enough room for you to breathe.
"Y-yes," you stutter and he lets your throat go.
He takes a step backwards, your hands reach for your neck - attempting to soothe it from pain. "On the bed. Now." he demanded tapping his foot impatiently. You bite the inner corners of your cheek.
It was wrong - but being a Targaryen was never right.
You slowly make your way on his bed - ass bouncing at the movement. "Stomach up." he commanded - eyes twinkling with lust. "Legs open," he added - seeing you in the vulnerable position.
You open your legs - hands on both of your knees, staring at him with anticipation of denial. There were rumors speaking about your uncle's depraved nature - but you never believed in them. He'd always speak nicely to you - giving you the greatest of gifts - but you see clearly now.
It was all a ploy - in order to break down your defenses - but you swear to never trust him. He was dangerous - charming in the bed, but never to be trusted in real life.
You close your eyes, feeling the bed shift at his weight.
"I want you to need me." he mumbled, hands teasing around your thighs - but never quite touching that one place. "It won't be fun if you just lay there, right?" he chuckled to himself. Your mind wasn't reacting - but your body knew what it wanted.
An accidental moan slips through your tongue, feeling his finger prod inside your wet cunt. "That's more like it," he cooed, drawing the alphabet with his fingers. Your eyes open wide - glaring at him.
"If you do not desire it - deny me." he repeated his previous statement, but you couldn't say no - the very safety of your sister depends on it. "Iksā - iksā," you slurred through the phrase, looking for the proper words - but you couldn't remember them.
"Mūmāzma? Sōbrie? Have you been so neglected of Valyrian cock, you cannot remember your own language?" he jested, still dipping his fingers in and out of you.
He wasn't waiting for a reply - he knows that you do not have enough power to fight against him - against this pleasure. Another moan exits your mouth - beginning to buck and grind against his fingers. "You have no manners, you know that?" he spoke again, forcing your jaw to look upon him. "Fuck you," you cursed at him.
"Indeed," he answered - pressing another kiss against your lips. A feeling ignites in your abdomen - a hot feeling that you were familiar with. He feels your walls close around his fingers. He leans slowly to your ears, waiting until the peak comes.
"Your husband is still alive," he whispered.

Book!Viserys wasn't a good father to the greens either.
Ok, I do admit he was better than show!Viserys. At least book!Viserys didn't go as far as to say Rhaenyra was his "only child"
BUT STOP PRETENDING HE WAS ANYTHING GOOD!!!
Book!Viserys calls Aegon "Alicent's blood" when she suggests betrothing Aegon & Rhaenyra.
I'm not sure in what world saying that about your own child makes you a good father.
Unlike in the show, I don't think he would have even given betrothing Helaena to Jace a consideration because he doesn't think his children with Alicent are even good enough to be consorts.
He was upset Alicent wanted her own blood on the throne, and he betrothed Aegon & Helaena himself and made them marry at 15 & 13. (What a loving father! At least he cares about them enough to make 1 horrible decision regarding their lives right?)
Now let's get to his biggest offence. Aemond's eye.
Am I faulting him for loving Rhaenyra & Luke? No.
Was he as asshole for scolding Aemond over rumors instead of being worried for his well being? Yes.
The very least he could have done is make Luke apologize since he did disable Aemond for life, but NO, he has to make Aemond feel ever worse.
I know book!Aemond was a bully and an asshat ok (and what he does to Luke later isn't justified), but let's not pretend that he wasn't a victim in this particular situation.
"But he was a good father to Helaena! He loved her and her kids."
Wow, amazing how he got along well with the daughter who listened to his every whim and never once complained to him or demanded he listen to her desires.
He was also such an amazing father to her he let her get knocked up at 13 or 14 by her 15 year old brother who he forced her to marry when Rhaenyra didn't have to marry until she was 17. Truly father of the decade!
(Obviously the Rhaenyra thing is not great either but it's very different from being a literal middle schooler.)
Oh, and I'm definitely sure he definitely would have supported Helaena if she ever had bastards that were so obviously not Aegon's.
And wow, how amazing is it that he didn't neglect his teen daughter's children.
Truly something we should be praising him for, but let's remember if Luke ever cut out any of Helaena's children's eyes, you can sure bet beloved girldad Viserys would be on her side.
(Oh, and nothing is mentioned about his relationship with Daeron ever apart from the fact he wanted him to be besties with Jace. Not unlikely he may have forgotten he had a 5th child just like show!Viserys.)

The Bias Problem with HotD Relationships and Character Dynamics.
I have a big problem with how HoTD goes out of its way to make otherwise good Fire and Blood relationships bad just for spectacle sake and to shame certain characters while elevating others as the 'better' choice.
You see this with Laena and Daemon's show! marriage where they're miserable, and Rhaenyra is presented as this eternal love that Daemon will abandon his wife's memory for in a heartbeat during her own funeral. Just note that in the book Daemon's motive for marrying Laena wasn't clear, but Laena wasn't described as being miserable in her marriage. In fact, Daemon was quite loving and caring, even to her death day.
Tumblr media
Also, when it comes to parenting, notice how Daemon is positioned all over the Strong boys and not Baela and Rhaena. He's not even uttered a single word to teen Baela and Rhaena directly in season 1.

Furthermore, Aegon and Helaena are very different in the show, with the emphasis being put on Aegon's infidelity instead of how he navigates his, need I say 'free', marriage with Helaena. It was always interesting how in the book Helaena seems hyper aware of his actions and responds with sass to people demanding she discover where Aegon is. It was not uncommon for princes to behave the way Aegon did in his marriage, but Aegon's conduct is treated as a unique case and a blemish on his character and Helaena's on the show, where even Daemon and his whores are offered more grace. The Dyana situation did not help their portrayal either.

And let's not forget Viserys and Alicent's marriage. Whereas in the book Viserys is said to do all that he could to please BOTH Alicent and Rhaenyra, the show hammers in the point that Viserys cares jack shit about Alicent. Even what he does to 'please' her, like letting Alicent choose who Helaena should marry instead of Rhaenyra, is never shown explicitly as an effort he makes to appease his wife. "I'm going to bed, Aemma" was also a painful and invented callback to Cersei and Robert's miserable marriage, despite of Alicent and Visery's marriage in the book and show being radically different from Cersei and physically abusive Robert.

Moreover, Viserys is somehow not allowed any scenes with his children with Alicent. Aegon and him especially have not spoken in depth at all, yet Aegon is the male heir he's always wanted and was willing to sacrifice his first wife Aemma for. And no, Visery's hostile interrogation of Aegon in ep 7 doesn't count as an interaction. Meanwhile, we have countless scenes of Viserys with Rhaenyra and Daemon.

On the family front, everyone that's NOT Viserys, Daemon or Rhaenyra look like losers.
Additionally, it goes without saying that ALL these changes have served to elevate Rhaenyra and Daemon as the ideal union and dynamic on the show. The general audience that have not read the books often see them as the symbol of an ideal couple and the media continues pushing this narrative as well.

All this leaves me wondering: what changes and sacrifices will they make with Nettles or even Alys and Aemond to maintain this image of Rhaenyra and Daemon that they have constructed and elevated as the ultimate power couple at the expense of other Fire and Blood relationships?
You know it is still possible to have other couples shine in their own right, and have their merits much as they are flawed...without taking from another couple. I don't think Ryan and Co believe in this concept, though. That is why other characters and their dynamics with others have been and will be compromised.
